I was referred to Westway Animal Clinic by a mobile vet when my cat showed alarming symptoms that required a clinic visit. It was my first experience bringing an animal to a clinic and I did not know what to expect. Dr. Korol was really great. He talked me through every symptom and every procedure that needed to be done and explained everything in the terms that I understood. A few months later both of my cats had teeth extractions. Doctor Korol and his team were with us all through this difficult experience. I have received multiple updates during procedures and photos of my pets recovering. For the next week, if I did not call the clinic in the morning, I got calls from Westway's staff asking about how my pets were doing. Doctor Korol and the team were very helpful, caring and understanding, providing advice and adjusting medications based on my cats' behaviour. Although Westway Animal Clinic is 30 minutes drive away from my home, it is definitely worth it! As their logo says At Westway pets are part of the family and this is exactly how I felt. I highly recommend this clinic. Doctors and team are very professional, caring and understanding!

Staff are nice but be mindful of their sales tactics and manipulation. Our cat stopped eating so we took him in. They set up a whole program of test after test with an option to euthanize when we felt the next stage was too much money. Welfare of the animal is secondary and they do somewhat care for what its worth. I suggested that perhaps some environmental changes led to our cat to stop eating - she quickly shot down that idea. We did a blood test and it revealed an issue with his liver but she misrepresented the results. The bad liver was because he stopped eating, it did not cause him to stop eating. Of course we needed more tests and money to know for sure. They also said he needed to stay overnight in a hospital for tests and to be fed. They were not interested in teaching me how to force feed or provide me with any advice that didnt result in more test/money. I took him home and force fed him myself . No medicine, no tests. He improved overnight and was 100% in 3 days. We don't know what happened but we also didn't need to spend the thousands. He probably just ate something... Its been a couple months since his near death situation and hes fine.

We came with an eye concern in our aging dog and are very happy with how she's being treated. Dr. Korol diagnosed her and was upfront about the plan of treatment and that he'd have to refer to a specialist if medication didn't work, but thankfully she's doing well with it! I feel that pricing is fair, and the Dr. only performs the tests necessary. It was hard getting our first appointment, I called quite a few times, but when I got a callback to schedule, they ended up offering an earlier time based on the description of the issue. I also like Dr. Korol's communication style, he's compassionate and answers all questions while being really clear with what to do.

Dr Koral and Dr Helen were exceptional with my two cats. Luna is a very timid and fearful 11 year old and she relaxed instantly with dr helen. They listen to your concerns and do a thorough exam. Even had xrays and blood tests done the same day for Luna. A phone call the next day for the results! Excellent vets who care and the staff too.

Brought my cat Dante here for some itching issues he's been having, I called ahead of time and Diana was so so pleasant in helping me schedule an appointment asap. Once we got in, the protocols in place for COVID made me feel super safe and not overwhelmed at all, just the standard stuff you'd have to do anywhere. I feel so bad, I can't remember the vets name, but she was so informative and kind about what we were dealing with and made me feel like Dante was in great hands, and he seems to be doing better with his itch! I don't know too much about clinic pricing or anything, but what I paid seemed very fair for his treatment. Overall, it's quite lovely here.

I've been bringing my dog to this clinic for a few years now. For the most part I have not had many major issues with the doctors, but the reception team needs work. My dog is very anxious and i've SEEN the receptionist Oksana try to DRAG him into the clinic without even using other methods like trying to offer a treat just because he was scared and didn't want to walk in. She only stopped to ask for help when she saw that I was watching her from outside. (Since with COVID you are not allowed to go in with your animal). Her attitude is HORRIBLE. Lets not forget to mention how unreliable front desk is, my dog requires frequent visits and I ALWAYS ask them to email me the notes and invoices from my visit. I always get a "yes we know" attitude and yet EVERY TIME, WITHOUT FAIL I am having to email them to remind them. Is it that hard to write it down on a note to send an email? I don't think I'm asking for too much. Also, I would think it is common curtesy that if you KNOW you ran into an emergency and are going to be 30 min late with the rest of your clients maybe call them and let them know? Why waste people time having them wait when a simple call might let them better plan their time around the issue and maybe not leave their house so quick. Finally they LOVE to up-sell, I brought my dog in for a follow up on his EARS, and left with a doctor not wanting to do the final check on his ear (WHICH was the ONLY REASON I was in the clinic at all that day). And rather sold me medication because his coat looked dry. Had I not mentioned it to the doctor, I would have never gotten the final test done. Ultimately the Doctor's are fine but front desk is really bringing them down.

Simply the best! This clinic is really as good as it gets. I've been to some vets before, and every single time something would be off. Once, my cat's got an eye infection the day after the visit, then one clinic had tons of different hair on the floor and countertops, and one time the vet was great with the kitty but rude to me. This clinic just blew my mind. Every single staff member is very pleasant and professional. The receptionist, the vet assistant and the doctor himself showed themselves as very caring and knowledgeable professionals. The whole office is super clean. There was no animal hair anywhere, including the staff uniform (and I bet it's hard to keep it that way). The room itself was well cleaned, everything was in it's place looking neat. Dr Korol explained every procedure thoroughly, was very approachable and caring. He did not push any treatments, did not try to scare me into surgeries or supplements/meds. And he was gentle with my cat, called him by his name, took his time during the exam letting the kitty to get used to the new environment and new hands. The vet technician Sergei went through the estimate for the cat's dental cleaning very thoroughly as well, he explained every single thing to be done and left me with no questions. He also was very gentle with the cat. Another good thing about this clinic is reasonable pricing. Price is not the first thing I look at, the quality of care being my primary concern, but it's important too. I feel like my cat and I are in good hands. Thank you guys! You did an excellent job from the moment I called to book an appointment till the moment I left the clinic. I really do appreciate it!

They recommended a "Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment & Treatment with Periodontal Surgery & Mass removal" which cost $1400. Our dog was in perfect health. Our dog shortly after was diagnosed by another animal hospital with multiple myeloma. We were advised by the other hospital it could have been due to this procedure. We spent thousands of dollars trying to save her life, but she subsequently died.... This animal clinic recommend something unnecessary which cost us money and her life. I have two other dogs & will Never trust this clinic with their health.

Came in to buy food, the front desk attendant was busy so I sat down staring at her waiting for her to finish. Another lady comes in and she helps her out cashed her out before me, meanwhile I have my jaw open staring at her waiting. She ignored me completely. I didn't have a pet with me and I'd been there to buy food before recently. So I just left. Changed my pets food to raw and hopefully I'll never need to deal with mentally lacking people like her again.

Wish I had never come here. I'm a student living independently and can't afford many of the fancy medicines they offer, but they will never offer me an alternative, cheaper option no matter how much I ask. They once offered me a free nail trim and said that it "comes with the fee of the visit". So I went in the next time and requested a nail trim. They charged me around $25 (the groomers just below them charges half the price), when I explained my confusion they explained that only visits over $90 are eligible for a free nail trim. They refused to refund me. For motion sickness, they gave me an expensive pill package with only three doses that was over $50. It only stopped her from vomiting but didn't rid her of the nausea or anxiety. When I went back they suggested two more expensive medicines on top of the one I was already buying. After doing my own research, I found that the solution was just 25mgs of children's gravol. This clinic has taken thousands of dollars from me for specialized diet food, medicines, and tests that were never necessary in the first place. They never even gave me answers from the tests they did other than "there seems to be nothing wrong". Even when I did completely trust their advice, I would spend hundreds on a solution that never worked. Don't waste your money here. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: Yes, I have not been there for a couple years BECAUSE of the bad service. As was clearly stated in my review, I have attempted to address these issues as they came up every single time I felt like something unfair was being done, but usually just ended up getting into arguments with the vet and the front desk. I informed your staff several times that I am a low income student and cannot pay for expensive treatments when there is a cheaper option available. No matter what I said, I would always get pushed into spending more money than I had.

We had an emergency appointment with Westway over the weekend after our dog got lost in a national park. She emerged with some scratches and shallow cuts, limping. They were able to squeeze us in, which was good. They assessed our dog and cited the possibility of her having many, many different issues (possible chest trauma, blood clotting, bruised gums). They quoted us $1,100 for multiple x-rays and blood tests even though they stated that chest trauma would not necessarily show up on an x-ray so soon after the incident. They made us really panicked and I felt like they were preying on our vulnerability. They told us her heart sounded "muffled" and her lungs "weren't clear". When we went to our regular vet today she said that a muffled heart or not so clear lungs were due to our dog being anxious and that her heart and lungs were totally fine. Our regular vet gave us more pain medication and told us to monitor her leg versus jumping to do expensive x-rays. We did not appreciate the escalation and attempt at scamming us out of $1100 unnecessarily. Beware!

Ruby is my fur-baby who is a 10-year olds cockapoo. Ruby is ball obsessed, whether she is jumping, running, chasing, finding or hiding the "round spherical beast". As she knows how to spell the word, b-a-l-l. It's crazy!! Dr. Korol and the whole team at Westway Animal Clinic, from Linda at the front desk to all the vet techs in-between have helped Ruby and I get through all of her ailments (and she has had her fair share!) Last year, Ruby had her ACL repaired and thing have not been the same. She was lethargic, had a hard time jumping on/off the couch and had no interest in swimming. Worst of all, she could only chase the ball twice when I tossed it about 6 feet before she would lie down in the grass. I had come to realize that Ruby was in her "senior" years. And then Dr. K introduced us to acupuncture! After her first treatment-there was a noticeable difference-she was playing ball outside for about 20 minutes. She stopped for a quick drink and then more playing inside. Now that we have 4 treatments under our belt, she is playing non-stop both inside and outside. Walking to the park, playing ball using the ball chucker and trying to jump in and out of the truck! (I have to stop her) People comment how young she is although she is getting gray! She is just like a playful puppy but with manners and discipline! lol My girl is energetic and happy again! Thanks Dr. K <3

Terrrible vet clinic, unnecessary surgeries (dental), customer service lacking out front, one vet in particular suggested many services that upon second opinion were not nessecary. Overpaying for things you do not require and lack of care and compassion from both vets and techs. Many better clinics in Etobicoke area, your pets deserve better!

Dr Korol has been our veterinarian for over 20 years and has cared for all four of our dogs through medical preventive care, medical illnesses, surgeries and palliative care. Most recently he removed an enormous stone from 9 year old Fergus' bladder after he had blood in his urine. Postoperatively our dog had no evidence of pain or any other symptom and is now fine . This was typical of all care rendered to our dogs over all these years. He is supported by a caring wonderful staff. He even treats and adopts personally unwanted severely injured cats and dogs who would otherwise be euthanized. As we said to him recently nobody touches our animals except him. I have only good things to say about this clinic. My cat was mainly under care of Dr Korol who is an amazing doctor and person who truly loves animals. We had a chance to meet other two doctors and staff of the clinic who also seemed caring and knowledgeable. From the first visit we got the right diagnosis. Dr Korol was there for us to avoid extra costs associated with possible treatments and we agreed on the best solution for my cat considering her state. Reception works perfectly as well - they always remind you about upcoming appointment or quickly reschedule if you wish to do so. This clinic is truly a gem and I wouldn’t hesitate a second to recommend it to everyone.

On top of the wonderful care they have always provided Zoey over the last 5 plus years we have recently been taking her there for acupuncture to help treat her allergies. I researched many vets in my area and Westway is at the top of the list. They are always attentive to both owners and pets alike. One of my cats has had surgery here and before the surgery, the staff (nurses) and doctor explained everything and ensured that we knew all the steps and process. Their brands are priced lower than many other offices including my own Vet's clinic. They even will special order the largest size bag so l increase my savings. If you need to find a Vet or your checking food costs l think Westway Animal Clinic is well worth checking out.

My 4 legged members are always in good hands here. Friendly, thorough, honest & reasonably priced. I find medications a little pricey if I had to say anything not as positive. In addition to general health maintenance, I've had to say goodbye to my golden, my lab also recently required tplo surgery (knee, acl)...& I was sooo grateful to have Dr Korol & team on my side thru it all. My pets have no fear going there...always a great experience.

I have made an appointment for my cat well in advance waiting over a month as this is due to their availability. Which was fine with me as i could wait and have less stress for my cat on the day of the appoiment. Then I called 2 days prior to the appoinment and the person I spoke with which another colleague said is the clinic manager had asked how flexible was my schedule on the day of the appointment.... This was a little alarming as my appoinment was for an 840am drop off, she started to suggest a 2pm drop off, then 1pm, a little messed up I would say when the drop off should be 840am. After further discussion the office manager said it was less stress for my cat, I then asked why it would be less stress,? She stated that they also have other appoinments that day and I was not the only one. Thats fair however my drop off was originally set for an 840am drop off over a month ago.... She then stated that I could go elsewhere, thats after waiting for my appojnment for over a month. Get the feeling they take customers for granted. Vanessa on the otherhand is great she was the that set my appoinment originally and listened to what had happened, she was sympathetic and understood why the prior person I spoke with left me with such a horrible experience. Regardless pulling my pet out from their patient list and have set out for another clinic that respects their customers. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We have been bringing our 2 cats and 2 dogs to Westway for about a year or so and are very pleased with the care they have been given. Our one dog is diabetic so we are in contact with them regularly. Our other dog had a luxating patella and our first thought was that he would need surgery. This was not an option we were looking forward to due to recent costs incurred from our diabetic dog. Dr Koral suggested 8 weeks of acupuncture which we were excited to try. Well I can say that "Norman" hasn't limped once since he finished his round of acupuncture and he took it like a champ! Happy to not spend the $$'s on surgery!

My husband called on a Saturday morning looking for some help with our puppy who had an eye infection. Spoke with Meeka their receptionist who stated the soonest they could get us in was the following Friday. We advised that waiting a week with an eye infection likely would be detrimental to the dog (I’m not a doctor but I certainly don’t think anyone would disagree) - we asked if she could speak to the vet and at least provide some similar eye drops to the ones we’d had about a month before - then we could try and see if we could get in for an appointment during the week - she advised she would try to speak to the doctor but couldn’t be sure she’d have time or a chance and wouldn’t be able to get back to us until 5 pm (ish) the same time they closed. Her alternative solution was “maybe try to find another clinic”. Keep in mind - theyre about 2 feet away from the doctor at any given time in the day. I called back to see if I could clear up what I assumed was a misunderstanding and was instead met with a rude condescending tone from her, as well as being told she wasn’t sure when she’d speak to the vet and so she didn’t want to make any “false promises”. It’s funny in a way, because I’d received such awesome help from their other receptionist Ashley previously I was literally shocked and extremely disappointed by this behaviour - not solution based, not supportive and certainly NOT keeping my dogs health as the priority. After expressing these concerns to her the receptionist hung up on me - as I was mid sentence asking for the managers name to see if she could assist. I waited a few minutes and called back again as I was really concerned for my dog and her eye sight as well as the utter disrespect and complete disregard for myself as a customer (a fairly happy to pay whatever you ask and think is reasonable) type customer. Again I was met with a rude condescending tone, and being told she had not hung up on me? If I was mid sentence and you disconnected the call I’m fairly sure that’s being hung up on. At this point she told me she’d spoken with the vet but “ I guess you don’t want to know what they said”. I stated yes I’d like the medical information regarding my pet as well as confirmation her office manager would be calling me Monday. She refused to provide either - literally withholding my own pet’s medical information from me? Unprofessional was the word I used to describe her actions - and again she hung up the call. At this point someone else Andrea called back to let me know they’d spoken with the vet and did I want the update - yes of course I do and I stated as well as confirmation that the manager would be in contact - she advised I obviously did not want the medical information and that calling their staff unprofessional was not how they liked to be treated - thanked me and hung up. Monday afternoon I had a lengthy conversation with Diana the office manager who essentially confirmed: 1) these staff members did not live up to nor did they provide the level of service she expects from them as well that I had received previously from other staff members 2) the health and well being of my pet was (supposed) to be their priority - and that for whatever reason this was not the case in their actions Saturday 3) she essentially felt that her staff had done nothing wrong (despite #1&2) and that (as per Saturday’s receptionist initial suggestion) maybe best we find another clinic. I am more than happy to go to another vet who actually lives up to #1 and #2, and an office manager who is willing to at least consider their staff provided sub-par service to a customer rather then blaming the customer oh and not really being invested in the animals well being or care - after all - her first question/comment wasn’t even about how the puppy or her eye was - so guess that was another “false promise”. The vets and some staff here were excellent, it’s unfortunate that these handful of people are not.

Recently switched over to Westway Vet based on recommendations and so glad we did. Whether it's during an appointment or calling in, staff have been very helpful each time answering all our questions as we are first time pet owners. They have an online form to fill out before your first appointment and I think that's so much better than spending 10 mins on the phone, hoping the other person hears me clearly (so many time my name is written down wrong). If you are looking for a new vet I would definitely recommend based on my experience so far.

Dr Korol is amazing and his staff is very friendly and accommodating... my fur baby was not well and we walked in on sunday and they happily accommodated us and my baby loved everyone and treatment was spot on and prices are very reasonable... 5 stars for services super love it...
