The surgery was very quick and proper instructions were given with regards to aftercare. This clinic offers a 5-star service and affordable rates for both spaying and neutering. Great experience at a fair price. I came across this clinic after my regular vet quoted me an extremely high price for a neuter surgery for my cat. From just one call, I got all the information I needed - it was very upfront and detailed. The process was explained along with the quote and I was able to get an appointment at fairly short notice. The care was excellent, and I'm happy to say that my cat has fully recovered and is healthy and active.

this is a truly affordable place that will give you excellent service. my boy kobe needed to be neutered and with the toronto humane society not being open this was the most affordable place we can find, but don’t think the low prices means they aren’t doing a spectacular job, the wound is healing perfectly and kobe is happy.

I took my husky to this hospital after he had a deep cut on his paw. I was so scared of what had happend to him, they asked me to put a mussle on him and he wouldn’t let me. So they sent me home and said take a picture of the wound when you can and send it to us. Based on the picture, they prescribed medication to my dog and charged me $200 for looking at a picture and prescribing medication. As a doctor, they should’ve put my dog to sleep and checked the wound and how deep it was and proceeded from there. I then took my baby to another clinic. And they told me the wound is now infected because they found a glass stuck inside the paw and stitches should’ve been taken by humberwood animal hospital when they saw my dog initially. Now my dog is suffering with an infection due to the careless work of this hospital, would not recommend! Stay away. Rip offs.

I have been bringing my puppy here for about 4 months for regular shots, neutering and a couple of emergency visits. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. They are always up front with costs and procedures. Will answer any questions with an honest and professional opinion. They’re the best!

After having a bad run with my past few dogs and vets, I went to Humberwood to have my Aussie Seven spayed. I was super anxious but Tammi calmed my nerves and reassured me that all would be well. She very thoroughly explained the procedure and after care instructions and told me I could call any time if I had any concerns. Dr. Sandhu was equally as wonderful and I left the clinic feeling much better. The procedure went flawlessly and I was even able to pick my girl up earlier than expected. The facility is spotless and the service was wonderful. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great veterinary team. Cheers!

Completely uncertified and irresponsible, horrible vet. He gave too much anesthesia to my cat and she unfortunately passed away today. Brought her to the vet and he didn't care to try cpr or anything else. Don't risk your pets' life by bringing it here.

My first time at Humberwood hospital. I had my 5 month old puppy spayed and it went very smooth. my puppy is doing so well.The doctor is awesome and the nurse is very helpful. Price wise this place is great! A lot of clinics and hospitals charge way too much. the old vet I used to got asked me for over twice the price for the spay!!! I used to go to North Park Veterinary hospital but not any more. I highly recommend this place and hope they don't change. excellent experience. attached photo is a week after the operation. very clean zero problems!

Tammi and Dr. Sandhu are great. After having bad experiences at two other vet clinics, I came here because of the reviews and am glad that I did. It's quite the drive from my neighborhood but well worth it. My Australian Shepherd had two operations here and recovered fabulously. They phoned to check up on him during recovery as well. I bring my terrier here for checkups and vaccines too. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

I am a new Dog owner and I was very picky in terms of who I wanted to do the spay and neuter. I contacted over 20 locations and eventually chose Humberwood Clinic because of the positive reviews, the way the staff answered all my questions, and the very reasonable price. I can honestly say it was the best Vet experience I've ever had! The staff were polite, kind and social, and the Doctor took his time answering all my questions, concerns and was very open about the options and how much it would cost. There were no hidden fees or surprises. I 100% recommend this clinic to anyone on a budget and anyone who wants their pet treated like a celebrity the second they walk in. Thank you Humberwood!

I had both my male cat and my female cat fixed at Humberwood Spay & Neuter on separate occasions and both times I was over the moon with their incredible level of care and professionalism. My male cat was well taken care of and recovered quickly. My female cat is very anxious and scared around new people and wouldn't come out of the crate so they didn't force her. They waited until she was sedated to examine her so she wouldn't have to be afraid of people handling her. They are so fantastic here and really care for all of the animals that come in and cater to their individual meeds. You can take your animals here knowing that you're getting a great price for an absolutely outstanding level of care.

I am very satisfied with the spaying service at Humberwood Spay and Neuter clinic! Very reasonable price (especially for students) LOL The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Unlike the clinics at Downtown Toronto, they leave the option of IV fluid, and pain medicine optional, they don't force you or SCARE you or try to persuade you into doing unnecessary procedure such as pre-anesthesia blood work which I have been convinced that it is something that my kitten needs at my local vet clinic... which made me extra nervous and anxious about her well being when I brought her to the Humberwood clinic. Dr. Sandhu was patient and reassured me that at such young age, pre-anesthesia blood work is not really necessary, and my kitten turned out to be fine, healthy and happy!! My experience with Dr. Sandhu and the staff are simply amazing! One week after the spaying surgery for my six month old kitten, she recovered and healed pretty quickly. This varies and depends on your cat, but mine will not leave her wound alone and will not stop licking the wound so I have to keep the E-collar on for more than 10 days. Dr. Sandhu did a marvellous job, it was only a small opening, and now that it is almost completely healed, I can barely see the wound! They also used dissolvable stitches which is very convenient. (so I dont have to travel an hour to the clinic just to have the stitches removed) I will definitely bring my other three-month-old kitten here for her spay! Thank you again for the wonderful service! Highly recommend!

I've never really left a review before, but I was so impressed with their service that I felt the need to. From start to finish my experience with this clinic was amazing. The receptionist staff really went above and beyond. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I came from downtown Toronto to avoid the outrageously priced spay procedures for my female pug. Upon knowing that I took an Uber to get there, staff offered to do my pups procedure first so I wasn't waiting around all day. Which I didn't mind at all but it was so nice of them to offer. They were able do multiple things for me while she was under, clip nails, clean ears, and they took out a couple of her puppy teeth that were stuck in her mouth. Very convenient. Also I had a hard time finding the incision area. It was so well stitched up I could barely see it. I have a friend that had their female pup spayed not to long ago, at another place and her stitches looked pretty messed up. Very impressive handiwork considering the price is more than half of what it costs downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the GTA looking for a very fair priced spay/neuter. Very very pleased with the results.

Our pet Coco (bichon) received her spay surgery in this clinic few months ago. She went back to her normal self in less than 24 hours like she never had the surgery. She was good with her plastic cone for one week. In her second week, she started playing with her cone and trying to get out of it. She got out few times so I had to tighten the cone. After few months, I can’t even find the scar on her belly. The doctor did a very good job! I highly recommend this place.

The front desk are fabulous, they are lucky to have someone so caring . My experience with my dog getting spayed was not so fabulous . She had some excessive bleeding and was under approximately 20 min longer than usual. I had called twice during the following few days after surgery and git the office manager (vets wife) i don't feel my concerns were taken seriously . Frankly i would have expected a follow up call from the vet himself.i did receive a follow up call eventually 12 days post surgery. After i had taken Lexi to another vet to "fix"the incision. Add another $150 to my expense. That was my experience and i fully understand i didn't take her to a plastic surgeon but I felt like I took her to a butcher. Not thrilled with the aftercare .

I have been meaning to write a review for a while now, but I have been so busy and time just got away from me This will be my 2nd review for this clinic. I want to thank Dr. Sandhu for the quick action he took with the lumpectomy he performed on Riley's mouth. Thankfully the biopsy returned with good news and Riley is just great!!!! This clinic does not only specialize in neutering. Dr. Sandhu, also helped last year when the tip of Riley's year was bitten off by another dog. You will read in my last review that another vet told me that Riley would need surgery because we could not get the ear to heal. Dr. Sandhu was able to get the healing process started and within a week Riley's 3 weeks of trauma was over. Thank you, thank you, thank you, so so much. I now have a new rescue dog Rufus who will soon be Dr. Sandhu's new patient. Hopefully this time we will be in to see him only for the yearly check up and shots but it is comforting to know that Dr. Sandhu is just a phone call away. Dr. Sandhu is a knowledgeable and empathetic vet and his pricing has been very affordable compared to other vets in the area. His experience though is invaluable! It has been a bit more than a month since we neutered our 1 year and a half Maltese - Sammy. Initially we thought we can wait for all his humping to be over, or his aggression towards people or other dogs. We have made the best decision, for Sammy and for us, choosing to neuter him. However, the experience wouldn't have been complete if we wouldn't have chosen the Humberwood Spay-Neuter Clinic. We were guided through the whole process with knowledge and kindness. The staff has been extremely helpful and had followed up with how Sammy was feeling. Sammy has recovered really fast - in 2 days he has back to his usually friendly self. He is not as aggressive outside, and does not hump anyone anymore, but he kept all his bubbly personality. The scar has healed completely, and we didn't have any kind of complication or concern. From the first phone call---Rachel took care of everything. I was seeking a better price than the outrageous quotes I was getting from my local vet for Spay Neuter services. Rachel booked a time for my Standard Poodle's Neutering on the spot, and even took care of calling my local vet to send over his vaccination history. I showed up early--no problem. I met the Vet / Dr. and he made me feel very confident about the procedure. Everything went well! The price was almost HALF the quote of local downtown Toronto vets and the service was excellent. My dog wouldn'T wear the plastic cone (he's insanely hyperactive and bucked and thrashed like a rodeo bronco--even on a leash in his crate--- and managed to remove the (tight) plastic cone 4 times so I emailed the clinic for feedback. Rachel called me back immediately to advise and put aside a Kong blow up cone for me to pick up the next day. Next day---took a bit of convincing to have them do a store exchange for the blow up cone (as Ernie had all but made the plastic cone unusable for resale) but they finally did the exchange and all was great. NOTE for future visits: If your dog is likely to be difficult with a plastic cone, save yourself the trouble and just buy the Kong blowup cone on your first trip. More than worth the extra 8$. Love this clinic. Thank you all for your great service : )

The team is amazing! I can't begin to express my gratitude. My kitten got spayed two weeks ago and it went really well and smoothly. There were a couple of things I was worried about post surgery (honestly just normal course of healing, but first time kitten owner, wanted to be sure of everything) and they were so responsive, they had me send pictures and responded same day/immediately to reassure me and give me suggestions. This is my second time with Dr. Sandhu as a surgeon and is amazing. My second kitty is a boy (name is Wolfie) and we had to neuter him . All I have to say that my baby boy was up and running like crazy from the moment we bring him back after surgery.crazy.good. I was very disappointed with the care my 9 month pup received from here. Although I understand covid precautions (I work in health care), the way the receptionist had obtained my dog (throwing a leash outside the door while she remained inside, keeping the door closed until I had hooked on my pup, with no conversation or introduction to myself or my puppy) was unprofessional and inhumane. I did not get an opportunity to hear from the vet before or after the neuter procedure (only the receptionist to tell me to come pick him up) - meaning that the risks of the procedure and discussion of the procedure was not discussed with me when obtaining consent for the procedure. At time of pick up, I had to ask to personally speak to the vet to have any updates or questions answered, and when the vet assessed my pups ears - it was done quite forcefully and rushed, making my pup cry out in pain. My pup ran out from their doors even through his state of drowsiness, and refused to come back in after his experience there. Would not recommend this facility if you want thorough, compassionate care for your pets.

All they care Bout is the $$$$ my service dog was dying, needed antibiotics due to sepsis from coyote attack, I politely explained everything to the reception and they refused to make a payment plan for me, we have been their client for years. I went elsewhere and got my puppy squared away, he is alive an well no thanks to these quacks. Our cat also went through similar miss treatments at the clinic all the dr wanted was money, after about a month of severe intestinal issues he passed away. I am glad to say I will not recommend this clinic to anyone. Over priced service is their moto. Do not bother commenting on my pets records as i have not authorized you to do so.

My experiences with Dr. Sandhu and his team have been entirely positive. I had my French Bulldog spayed here, and also treated for a bladder infection. I'm confident that this clinic's success philosophy is to genuinely care for their patients and their owners. No pressure sales or guilt at this office! The office is clean and orderly, the staff are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, and the price is right. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Got my 1 year old shitzu nuetered here a month ago. Price was great/reasonable/affordable. The RVT was friendly and trying to accomodate my little guy despite it being full, and so I got an appointment very soon. Pre-surgery they provided a full cost breakdown with many optional yet recommended options, which was very helpful. Golu has been here before a few times and they are most receptive on the phone (emails are fast too but may take 24 hours max). Rachel seems to be there a lot of the time so that was very helpful since its one person understanding the entire situation. Post surgery it was very cleanly done in my perspective, he healed perfectly with no issues within 2 weeks. Improvement points would be to check up on the client on their own if follow-up is required, and second (more importantly) to have a allow a conversation with the doctor about the consultation. The first time I asked why I couldn't talk to the doctor, the nurses said I have to ask to do this. Post neutering I specifically asked okay can i speak to the doctor and there was hesitation/reluctancy. This is a professional service provided by a licensed veterinarian hence the doctor's professional level of service is non-existent. I'm not discrediting the nurses service, they are doing great but I'm not happy with the doctor's client relationship skills at all. It's as if you go to a human doctor/lawyer and you don't speaking to the actual doctor/lawyer, but you are paying for this service...........

My wife took our dog there as he wasn't eating anything. They were very unprofessional and did not feel like giving us an update. My wife who is very emotional was waiting for a response from the doctor(not sure if they are even doctors), but they were all just laughing around with no accountability at all. I am just glad my dog was okay, he's a well trained dog or he would've bit them all. Please save yourself some time and money and find a REAL vet. Also their prices have gone up by 50% due to INFLATION - that's right , that's exactly what they said.

Not only did we get our dog spayed here but we also consult with the team whenever there is a scenario when our dog may need more medical attention than the usual check ups. Our dog cut her paw on glass a couple months ago, similar to another reviewer, however we absolutely loved how the clinic handled it! We took her to our local spot (a different vet downtown) first since we thought she might need immediate medical attention. They cleaned it and prescribed her antibiotics and told us she needed stitches the following day. We called Humberwood Animal Hospital for a second opinion. After they saw many photos we took of her paw to determine the severity, Humberwood told us that even if she had stitches they would reopen immediately because she has to walk on it. They recommended that we leave her wound open to heal and get air, clean when needed, cover when going outside, and reduce her walking/time on foot. Instead of the wound healing in 2+ months time, she healed in two weeks! In our case, stitches were totally useless and the natural method (plus antibiotics and proper hygiene) worked! We saved $900, added care time, and months of recovery - thanks to the Humberwood team! We’re super grateful for this vet clinic. Their care is so honest and they really seem to strive to make vet services affordable and practical. Highly recommend for all your vet needs - especially in times where you need a second (and honest) opinion/evaluation!

I used to love going to this place, they are affordable and the staff was nice. When going in for routine vaccines and check ups everything was great and the cost was definitely affordable when compared to going to other vet clinics. Unfortunately when I took my cat during an emergency the vet was unable to see the severity of the situation and gave the most ridiculous recommendations for an animal that was so obviously in distress. I took the cat to another vet as I felt something just was not right ... and it was not. I eventually took my dog to the same vet I went to for a second opinion with my cat. After the vet reviewed the records from Humberwood Animal Hospital they realized that essential boosters were missing from the dogs vaccination history. I had taken my dog to Humberwood approximately 1 month prior to this for him to have his boosters and the vet did not bother to even review the dogs vaccination history. If you do decide to switch clinics and your new vet is trying to get the records for your animal.... good luck! If you can afford it, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.... if you can't, Ellesmere Animal Clinic is also a very good and affordable option. Your animal will not receive the best care it possibly can get by going to this place. To the owners of the clinic, please.... no need for a reply.... and you definitely do not have my permission to review my animal's medical records and comment on them.

Do NOT go to this vet. I took my 5 month old puppy here for her spay, and regret it so much. The vet BUTCHERED my poor baby and sewed up her belly as if it was a piece of meat. The incision site is all lumpy because he trapped perfectly healthy skin underneath. She is in awful pain and the incision site looks absolutely horrendous. They will MAIM your animal. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Been to Humberwood a few times now, and haven't had a single issue. Staff and Doctor are super friendly and always take the time to make sure I am comfortable before proceeding with anything. I would like to thank Humberwood Animal Hospital for such a fantastic experience neutering my kitten at their clinic. I rarely give reviews but I feel the staff at this clinic deserve recognition for the amazing work they do. From the moment I called them, I could tell they genuinely care about the animals they see. I have been a pet owner my whole life and this is the first clinic I've ever been to that didnt make me feel like they were all about the money. They gave me all treatment options without trying to upsell or recommend anything unnecessary. They answered all my questions and ultimately let me decide what I wanted for my pet without the pressure to do more. Their prices were VERY fair in comparison to what other clinics charge and they discussed prices with me ahead of time with no surprise expenses. The affordable price did not compromise the quality of work either. My kitten had a very fast and easy recovery, with no complications. He was very well cared for and very happy. I was so pleased with my experience I referred my mother to their clinic to treat her cat's ear infection. They accommodated her the same day she called and didn't charge her an outrageous emergency fee (as most clinics do), her cat was seen and treated and his ear is all better now. Just got home from the WORST Vet experience of our LIVES.we had a scheduled appointment with our 2 pets, upon arriving to this clinic the receptionist was extremely unresponsive could not even state which company they were BESIDE.when I mentioned HOMELIFE the reply was ' we are opposite the racetrack ' I do not know the area, not everyone gambles! ! My partner could the time to knock on their LOCKED door with a cane as he is disabled with a broken hip. Doctor saw but did NOTHING TO acknowledge. BEWARE if this is the experience prior to getting in the door I can imagine the pets experience inside . You may not even get them back ALIVE. Choosing the right vet is always a difficult task, we always want to ensure that the animal that we all have adopted into our lives, our familes, recieve the best care that is available. I truly wish I could be leaving a positive review for this location, for Dr. Sandhu, however this is not the case. We had intially taken our beloved Niuniu (17 year old long haired Tabby), to this location for a pre-operation bloodwork examination. He had a lump on his side that continued to grow, and lately had begun eating less, drinking more, etc... Upon getting the results back, we were devastated to learn that his kidneys were showing signs of failure. Anemia was also another issue that was highlighted during the screening results, presumably in correlation with the kidney issues. Dr. Sandhu, probably to his poorest judgement or lack thereof, begins to list possible treatment options. Obviously ruling out surgery for the lump on his side as the kidneys were considered the main focus. Kidney supplements and kidney support food seemed to be the right path to take, along with a daily IV injection to allow filtration of the kidneys. Then, he suggested one more thing, that there might be an infection looming inside the body, or inside the kidneys that could be the cause of this. Now, I want to stress this point very much, ALWAYS ASK ABOUT SIDE EFFECTS THAT YOUR LOVED ONE MAY EXPERIENCE UPON TAKING THE MEDICATION, ENSURE THAT YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CLOSEST 24 HOUR VET HOSPITAL IS SHOULD YOU NEED IT. Dr. Sandhu gave us a week's worth of Clavamox to fight the "viral infection", but also failing to notify us of POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS, and also being very unsure if it was an infection to begin with. Upon beginning treatment, he starts to show signs of improvement, more energy, becoming less lethargic, and loving the new kidney food (wet food was always his favorite). Antibiotics (Clavamox) given orally twice a day, IV fluids once every other day, and supplements on a daily basis. This was until the 3rd day when Niuniu began to show signs of an allergic reaction (not known to us at the time), he started to develop breathing issues. We attempted to notify the vet, in order to ask to the doctor to determine if the reactions were normal. Turns out not only did the secretary fail to notify Dr. Sandhu of our inquiry, but she also failed to follow up with us as a check-up to see if all was proceeding as planned. Continuing to Google search these symtpoms, which we thought were associated with the kidneys beginning to fail, prompted us to continue with the treatment. By Christmas Eve he had shown signs of high energy and even resumed grooming himself! We were ecstatic to see these results, however, we were still quite worried about the heavy breathing. Still no phone call from the vet, absolutely zero attempts to reach out to us, which is unacceptable. I understand that vets are people too, and that they have family matters to attend to. But that doesn't give them the right to leave early, completely abandon those in need and ignore their job to help heal the sick. This Christmas morning was one of the hardest to deal with as we awoke to the horrific sight of Niuniu in the litter box, body cold and stiff, no longer showing signs of life. Our beautiful cat was taken away from us too early, he was showing major signs of improvement, and he was such a healthy cat that it never added up as to why he had succumbed so quickly to this "infection/kidney problem". Further research indicated possible signs of allergic symptoms to Clavamox showed the biggest one, "DIFFICULTY BREATHING". We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken to learn that we might have killed Niuniu. Calling Dr. Sandhu afterwards gave us no closure as he continued to provide excuses, stating that he's never seen an allergic reaction himself and that he passed from the kidney failure. I would never recommend Dr. Sandhu to anyone, think twice about taking your animal to this location. We will not be bringing our next cat to this location.

We couldn't be happier with the service that we received here. We had our 6mth old Havanese puppy spayed last week and from the time we walked into the doors, we felt like everyone working here were so caring and compassionate. They answered all of our questions and were so loving with our puppy. We had some concerns 3 days later that she was still in a lot of pain and they quickly arranged for an appointment to see the vet that day. They prescribed a different type of pain medication and were very understanding and listened to all of our concerns. They didn't charge us for the follow up appointment either, just for the additional medications. After a couple more days of medication, she is back to her playful self. We would highly recommend this clinic for spaying. The staff were amazing, her incision was small, they were very up front about all costs and did not try to coerce you into buying additional things, and she very well taken care of.

I was extremely nervous about neutering our 1 year old cockapoo but Humberwood did everything to make sure we felt comfortable. The procedure was seamless, they kept us updated throughout the day and even let us hang out with him until he was ready to go home. I couldnt thank them enough! We brought our cat here to get neutered about two weeks ago, from the beginning the staff was very friendly on the phone and their price was the cheapest we had found which was a plus. On the day of the surgery Rachel was very friendly and walked my husband through everything that would happen, I was a bit nervous because due to covid we couldn't meet the vet but they made us feel very comfortable from the beginning. After the surgery was done we got a call saying everything went smooth and we were able to get our cat, Rachel explained what to look out for and if we had any questions to email them right away. After the 5 days had past with our cat wearing the cone we weren't sure if he was able to take it off so I called the vet and again Rachel was super informative and friendly on the phone and asked me to send a picture to make sure his wound was healed, she called me back right away and gave me the ok to take off his cone and what to watch out for. I would definitely recommend this vet clinic and will be taking my pets here from now on ! Thanks guys for taking such good care of my cat !

When called one price was stated and all that it included, upon arrival he was eager to up sell iv fluid that should be included in the spay process. Spaying is equal to human hysterectomy yet according to him my 9 month old would feel no pain?? So he would not give any pain medication. She was not kept at all for post operation review, we dropped her off at 9 am and had to pick her up by 1. For the money we spent there I could of gone to regular vet and had better service.
