There are many veterinary clinics in the area I live in, however, I drive 35 minutes to take our dogs to the Etobicoke Veterinary Clinic. I know our dogs will recieve best care possible and we will be treated fairly. The staff at thr clinic are very courteous and professional and I highly recommend taking your pet there.

My kitten was sick, I came here for checkup for her sickness and also a general checkup. She was stressed so I asked if I can stand by her, they said I can wait by the window (because of COVID they didn't let me in which is acceptable). However, I didn't get to see my kitten inside and she was way too stressed as she came back. She had black spots in her gummies, yet no one made an explanation on them.

Dr. Hana Schwarz literally saved my dog a few years ago when he caught a leptospirosis infection. She followed up with me after hours by phone and email. Outstanding service! Prices are very reasonable compared to what I have seen over the years.

Can't thank Dr. Summer and all the wonderful staff at EVH who have helped my pup with his tail recovery. When my dog's tail was injured in a door I panicked and google mapped the closest vet to where I was as EVH was a 20 minute drive from where I was. I brought him to the closet vet (Humber Bay Vet) and was quoted $618 + $180 for an x-ray. I was willing to pay for it but something didn't feel right.. the 2 minutes I was there the entire conversation was about money. I trusted my gut and called EVH (our regular vet) who assured me I could come asap and be seen right away. Dr. Summer was so caring and loving with him, immediately I felt better in her presence. Also, my bill was $130! That is nearly a $500 difference... I was in shock. I was expecting to pay close to the same amount I was just quoted on at the other vet. Not only are they extremely fair with their pricing, but every single person that works here is in it for the love of animals, not for the money. I've never felt like a walking wallet there. Instead I feel the technicians and veterinarians want nothing more than to see their furry patients happy and in good health. <3 I strongly recommend EVH and am so happy to have found them.

If I could give less than one star I would. Three hour wait for a walk in appointment that took under 10 minutes, watching other clients stream in and out promptly. I essentially paid close to $100 an hour to sit in my car, after being told by staff that tonight was a better night for walk ins as there were multiple vets on staff, which actually translated into one vet for walk ins and another for appointments. Will not return.

I have been coming here for years but as soon as they got new vets the place isn’t the same. We took our dog to get her last shot and the vet Ali Aliabadi charged us an examination/consultation fee ($70) when all he did was give her one shot and when confronted on the examination/consultation fee that he didn’t do, he lied straight to my face saying he checked her heart rate using the stethoscope which, he didn’t even have on him and I was next to my puppy the whole time. The vet Ali also said he checked her ears, bones/muscles, mouth to see if everything was okay but he did not because he didn’t even touch my dog besides giving her the shot. I never mind paying the consultation fee as long as they actually do it. I will not be returning to this vet anymore as the vet we dealt with is dishonest and not trust worthy. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

I have been taking my fur babies here for more than 15 years. We brought our oldest dog to be put to sleep, they definitely made the experience more helpful and soothing. It was a very difficult time, but we didn't feel rushed. They let us take our time. When we were ready they were there to confort us and made the rest of the process easy. The doctors are kind and understand, they give you all of the options for your fur baby. I will always come here for my fur babies. It hard to find vets you can trust. And I trust the staff and doctors who work here.

This place went downhill over the years. I had my cat there back in 2017 and that was the last time I had something positive. I bought my puppy there last year for her first puppy shots and within a few days she got sick. She couldn’t even get off the couch to use the bathroom. All the vet did was give her fluids and she seemed fine. I brought her back in a few months later for her second round of shots and she came back home with a limp. I took her to the vet again and they just gave her pain medication that did nothing. After a month Bella fell at home and squeezed so I brought her back again to which they shoved her down on the x-ray machine. I spent 6 hours in the parking lot for them to say “we don’t know what it is go to an emergency vet hospital” My family friend recommended hofmann’s so I went over there the next day. Within 20 minutes they saw what the problem was. I was given vitamins and a liquid to give her and boom, limp gone. Even got xrays done there properly and they didn’t see anything and laughed at how the x-rays were done here. I told etobicoke walk in I was 20 dollars short for her needles and they said “come back when you can afford the whole bill”. If you love your fur babies, do not bring them here. Every single exam I have gotten from this place they never even touched her. Just looked at her and said she’s got clean health. Found out when I left this place she had gastro and can only eat raw now. This was ridiculous.

I highly recommend Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital. I have been going there for the past four years. 1st with my cats. Now with my dog. The staff is very caring and professional. My dog runs to the door every time we go. I think that goes to show how well he is being taken care of. The open clinic is also great when you can not commit to an appointment.

All the staff were so sweet and welcoming. The clinic was a nice and clean environment. My cat was seen fairly quickly without an appointment. Dr.Meghan was so incredible both with my cat and explaining all of our options to us. She had to be quite invasive as my cats ear was bleeding but she was so gentle. Her patience was greatly appreciated. Price wise I've paid a lot more for a lot worse care and they really do try to work with you. Couldn't recommend this place more.

Literally the worst customer service on the planet. I brought my very obviously sick dog in and all they did was berate me about how I wasted my own time coming in instead of calling. This was instead of, you know, maybe speaking to me about my dog. Not a single solution was offered. I was not asked to make an appointment, or give my information; I was simply turned away and asked to come back later. Do your self a favor; Westway Animal Clinic isn't much further away, and you can see the higher rating yourself on Google. Go there and skip the hassle. 2021 Update: Still not useful, but there's a better clinic 10 blocks north, and it's not surprising.

Took my 10 week kittens there for a first check up and advised the vet one of them wasn't well. She had had a seizure and needed to be checked out. The vet updated me advising the blood work came back with some abnormalities but nothing to worry about. 3 days and $400 later, I had to surrender the kitten to the humane society - she was so sick. The vet at the humane society saw she wasn't well within minutes of looking at her. If you love your animal, don't bring them here. They seem more concerned with charging you for services rather than the care of your animal

Great service at a reasonable price. I've been taking my dog here for the past 10 years and I've never had any issues. I tried the Bathurst animal hospital on Wilson Ave. and it was a mistake. I came in to do a checkup and they tried to recommend me to do some many tests for no reason. Honestly seemed like a money grab and that's very unfortunate. The staff at Etobicoke are very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend taking all your furry baby needs here!

*WARNING these good reviews are for the past owner of the clinic which unfortunately is no longer with us* this clinic is nothing like the way it used to be! I only went there because my main vet was out of town. Just like what everyone is saying the vets here now only care about money, they'd over charge even when it's a life or death situation that would cost them dollars; they'd still charge thousands. I lost my cat because of their greed, they make you screw up on your decisions and would rather get an extra $100 to put your loved one to sleep with them then watch you walk away with a chance of save his life else where. Some vets may charge a bit more but they will not confuse you into doing useless tests, buying medications with rediculous dispensing fees that will do more harm than good to your pet. My vet personally gives me discounts all the time and if my pet is about to die would do everything he can to save him, not just tell me to put him down when he can easily make it. So you can tell everyone you have competitive prices but this clinic has no heart and doesn't give a damn about you or your pets.

The vets at this place do not care about your pet, all they care about is money! they over charge for everything and plus this place is dirty and run down. Ive gone to this vet for 10 years and when my dog needed surgery they over charged. I told them that i couldn't afford their over priced surgery. So I asked to pay in 2 installments, they told me to go to the Humane Society! How cruel of them!!!!! therefore i went to another vet and they showed more caring for my dog and charged me $500 less and the surgery went well! The vets at Cornwall are very knowledgable and they took their time examining my dog:) to add Cornwall animal hospital is very clean and sanitary. I will never return to etobicoke vet anymore! Cornwall saved my dogs life!!!!

Their service has made, by far, a great difference especially during the last few months of my beloved elderly dog, Autana, the decision-making and transition after her passing at the end of 2015. I feel like they are becoming a money grab. I took my dog to get checked for an ear infection, they gave her ear drops that worked and then unfortunately I left my dog with a babysitter for a week and she didn't give her her ear drops. I finished the bottle and when I called the vet to get another bottle like she had told me, they said no they had to do special exams to see. I explained to several receptionists the situation that the drops did in fact work just that they were given wrong. They refused to let me get another bottle like the vet originally had told me I can get, also they would never call me back.

I had gotten my chocolate lab neutered here, they always give me the best prices everytime I come in, I was recommended by my cousin who has got the husky in my pic. They saved me hundreds of dollars in neuter costs and when I saw how much lower the surgery was here compared to rexdale animal hospital my first assumption was that they were cutting costs medicine etc... I would never recommend this vet, I brought my dog in for vaccines on July 23 and ever since then my dog has been very sick due to these vaccines and dewormer they gave him, I never received a call from them asking how my dog was. I have had to spend more than $1000 on my dog’s treatment at another vet and yet still today my dog continues to be extremely sick. Finally my dog died on August 11, 2020, 18 days after you applied the vaccine.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! I took my 3 month year old kitten to them FOUR DAYS IN A ROW because I KNEW something was wrong with her. The first day, the vet shoved a thermometer up her butt so hard that when he pulled it out, her butt was poking out and she could no longer Poo properly. We brought her back and 4 days in a row we were told nothing was wrong with her and that her being able not to pee was fine and that blood in her pee was fine as well. We then started to get angry and demanded an ultra sound of her stomach and we were told they don't do that and we need to take her to Oakville to do it. We brought her back and ALL OF A SUDDEN they had an ultrasound and she ended up dying in their care. With her cremation arrangements, we had no say in it. They just took our money. The vets are terrible and blamed us for her death after and told us that they don't understand why we're so angry that she's just an animal. The place smells like pee and they take your pet in a room where you don't even know what they're doing. I got a new kitten and now I'm taking him else where and surprise surprise when I told the new vet how this place treated my cat, they were in complete shock!

EVH is such a caring and wonderfully thoughtful veterinary hospital. They have always cared for all of my kitties so well. This year was their first ever Pictures with Santa event. It was so well advertised and promoted. The day of the event we arrived a few minutes early and were really pleasantly surprised how well organized they were with hot chocolate and TimBits for all the pet parents. Santa and his elf were seated beside a lovely display near the fireplace. We were in and out very quickly thanks to all the staff and received a lovely picture of our little kitty. This was a really enjoyable way to socialize with other owners and a fun day out!

We paid over $700 for one of our cats for a urinary blockage and on that bill we prepaid for the cats shots . After two months we went back and the new owner said she couldn't except that bill and and we would have to pay an extra $65 for per cat for checkups again. Very disappointed and Will never use them again

I called to ask if the clinic carried a particular veterinarian-prescribed dog feed and the lady I spoke to said she'll have to to check and will call me back so I provided her my name and phone number when she asked. I never got the call back. That could very well have started my consideration to move my dog to their care...

Dr. Lauren Monaco at this location prescribed me two types of ear medicine for my dog. One im very familiar with and one that was new. When I questioned her about it, she told me to use the medicine im familiar with on his tiny cuts hes been having. I went home and googled the medicine to see if it was meant for that, ITS AN EAR ONLY MEDICATION. The ear medication im referring to is called Otomax Ear Ointment. It even says ear ointment on the bottle. She then suggested I start my dog on allergy medications and to keep trying different types until we found one that works for him. Shes clearly trying to sell me more meds that my dog does not need. Do not take your pet here, they are after your money only! As soon as these new owners took over, they raised the consultation fee from $40 to $70. All of these vets are wet behind the ears and learning on your pets. They are literally newbies charging experienced vet pricing. Dont support these joker smokers and dont endanger your pet by going to these clowns. EDIT: She called me to advise me there's been a big misunderstanding. That the ear medication is for skin too. Ya keep peddling your lies, my new vet confirmed everything I suspected about you. Suggesting I start my 11 year old bulldog on allergy medications now..... To put this into perspective for anyone else reading. It use to take 1.5 weeks to get an appointment at this clinic because the old owners were very good at what they did. Now they will give you next day appointments no problem. The writing is on the wall for this place. Dont go here if you care about your pet.

Was EXTREMELY displeased with Dr. Hana and her assistants. This USED to be a very good veterinary hospital until they changed all the staff. The folks working now are very inexperienced and its blatantly obvious. During the check up, Dr. Hana had nothing really to say, no advice or feedback to give. She only seemed interested in the selling you things. Their lack of interest in helping you and your pet is actually frightening because if you're concerned about your pet, you'd want the veterinarian to be concerned as well. She just assumes your pet is fine and carries on to the next client. The previous veterinarian a couple years ago would try to help you understand things on a scientific level. I honestly felt like I was doing the check up myself because I kept asking questions and she was just agreeing with me without having her own opinion or any input. Its different now, it's all about trying to charge you the most and get you out as fast as possible. The last time I was there will definitely be the last time. I've had ENOUGH of their condescending attitude. I have a German Shepherd, yes, hes a big boy and yes, he can be quite defensive if provoked. I took my dog in because he was itching himself a lot. They wanted me to restrain him tightly in order for the vet to take a sample of his hair for ticks. My dog doesnt like being restrained, I'm sure most dogs don't. My boy didn't like it, so they called in her assistant. I guess she's "the one all dogs love" but she couldn't help for the life of her. My dog is very kind and gentle, and loves female attention, but he knows when someone's being fake. The assistant tried to get my boy to do what she asked but he wasn't having any of it. They then called in a 2nd assistant who also couldn't help, and it wasn't because my dog isn't trained and obedient. He's WELL trained and VERY obedient, but at that point he was extremely stressed out because he now has 3 people trying to restrain him to take a blood sample. They failed to realize that he was under a lot of stress, and they continued to try and restrain him until I stepped in and asked them politely to give my dog a moment to calm down. They then kept asking me questions regarding my dogs likeability with other people, questioning his training. It was their passive aggressive way of insulting me. On a side note, the first blood sample the assistants tried to take was a failure because she did not hit his vain, so barely any blood was being taken. So we had to repeat the process a second time. I strongly felt their lack of experience when dealing with bigger dogs like mine made them feel embarrassed. To counter their embarrassment, they made me feel like I was responsible for my dog being difficult. They made me feel like there was something wrong with my dog, and believe me, THERE ISN'T. Would you enjoy being restrained by 3 people while someone is trying to poke you with a needle? Would you enjoy being repeatedly held against your will while you're trying to calm down and relax? To top it all off, my bill came up to around $350.00, which included a checkup, a blood sample, and tick medication. When I politely asked the lady behind the front desk a question regarding the price of the tick medication, she too passive aggressively shouted back to me that she can provide me with a receipt with all the information....I was just asking for the price?? It seems to me their clients are often shocked when they get their bill at the front, so she assumed I was going to bargain or try and give her a hard time, when I wasn't. I walked out of there feeling very disheartened, not because of the $350, but because I did not receive caring service, what I got was impatient, and unkind staff, and put my dog through an extreme amount of stress. Funny thing is, he didn't even have ticks... If you have a larger dog, look elsewhere, hopefully they're better with smaller dogs and more cuddly animals. I've never written a Google review until now, because I truly feel other pet owners need to be aware of this.

I got my Cat, Bubble Sep 2014. Since the very beginning I am visiting this Veterinary Hospital. Just for the regular vaccination, couple time ear infection and few other minor issue. So far I found the place good. Today I was schedule to drop my cat for Neuter. I called 2/3 weeks back for this schedule. As I work 2 weeks in morning shift and 2 weeks in afternoon shift, and currently I am in Morning shift, I can't drop my cat at morning (I go for work at 5:30 AM), I was being told that I will drop him 5:00PM - 6:00PM on 17th Mar and the surgery will occur on 18th afternoon, and I will take my cat back on 19th afternoon, after returning from work. Today, before I start, I called them and the receptionist told me that I can't drop my cat today. I have to drop him tomorrow morning. I mentioned very clearly that I can't drop tomorrow morning, and when I called for this appointment, I mentioned the reason and I was being told that I can drop this evening instead of tomorrow morning. Receptionist played her broken record again and again. finally she told me to hold the line, after holding for 13 minutes, she disconnected me. I didn't understand the behaviour. Waited weeks to get an appointment, and now they forgot the whole earlier conversations, and finally they disconnected the phone, without saying anything. Good Luck that my cat is not sick, it's just neuter.

This morning I called because my dog has fleas (like he gets every single spring/summer). Every single time, we get him some advantage to treat the fleas. I called because I know what the problem is and was just needing to get the flea treatment. When I spoke with the girl I asked if it was going to cost me extra to bring him in to get advantage. She asked if we had been there before and I said no. She said the only way it would cost anything is if he has another condition that the vet would need to see him for and to bring him in at 3:30 to get weighed to ensure proper dosage. Satisfied, I agreed and sent my husband at 3:30. After the 20 minute drive, when he arrived he was told it was going to be a $65 for the vet consult. This was completely contrary to what I was advised this morning. He called to to tell me. I then called the vet hospital and explained the scenario to which I was told "nobody would say that we have to see him if he hasn't been here before". So I said, "now you're insulting me by calling me a liar". I said it's unfortunate because I chose that location based solely on their good online reviews as we are new here. She said yeah we treat our animals well. She said it's the law and the staff are well trained. I said I can respect that it's the law but you may wish to reiterate to your staff so nobody else wastes their time. Anyway I'm sure they do treat the animals well, however for something as standard as fleas where you can buy flea treatments pretty much anywhere I feel like this was simply a money grab and should not have happened. Very disappointed and will not take my dog there if heaven forbid he does need care in the future.

This place was such an amazing clinic before the new owners and have been using them for at least 20 years! My last visit was to clean my dogs teeth, they ran all their tests and proceeded with his teeth cleaning. I was told the absolute maximum it would cost if every thing went wrong and after the surgery was told it would be a few hundred more. But that was corrected! The problem started with only after the surgery was I told that he had 3rd staged kidney failure and with monthly medication he may live a few more months! This was my decision to make! He also had a damaged nerve in his rear leg that would eventually get worse but seeing as he had limited amount of time left , it didn’t make sense to spend more money on looking into it. Well because of the cheap shot they took by going ahead with the dental cleaning before informing me that he was “dying” of kidney failure. I decided to enjoy what time I had left with him, but as time passed he never seemed sick as I was told would happen and took him to another vet , did the same tests and his kidneys were evaluated, but was told to continue using KD Food and he wasn’t dying! It’s about a year and he’s still here!! Only problem is his legs have gotten much worse in that time and now the only chance he has is a very expensive surgery now! Where had a steroid been given to him at the time or some other treatment , he would’ve had a way better chance at it being reversed. Now I have the to make the call we all hate if this steroid he’s been given now doesn’t help. Worse part is I feel as if it’s my fault for listening to them. It’s sad that we lost the original owner because he genuinely cared for animals and not profits.

I would recommend EVH to anyone and everyone. The staff is fantastic even when your pet can be a little uncooperative (my dog can be a little jerk sometimes). The doctors are fantastic and knowledgeable and have such a calm demeanor. If you are in the area or don't mind a little drive, I would urge you to try them out. You and your pet will not be disappointed.

My experience at Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital was wonderful. We were met by Dr.Lauren Monaco. She has been nothing but honest and sensitive to our needs in multiple ways. My Australian Shepherd Dog had cuts in his ears from scratching due to an infection. He was in so much pain and he is just a puppy. We were treated with Otomax for the cuts and infection. He was also in for a UTI and was given antibiotics. Everything was taken care of with such Care, concern and diligence- thank you Dr.Lauren Monaco . I would not hesitate to recommend her . She is fantastic.

Would not recommend. My pet has left this place with a burn, some blisters, a bruise on the neck, and a complimentary service of over clipped bloody nails. When they tell you that walk-in starts at 3:30PM they're lying. You can arrive 15 minutes "early" and there will already be 4-5 people ahead of you and the wait will be 3 hours long. Ask them for alternative locations because it's an emergency and they'll refer you to Mississauga locations who will then refer you out to Oakville! They'll also turn you away and say they already gave you alternatives locations to take care of your pet. Oh, and when they "accidentally" disconnect from you, good luck trying to call back. The line won't ring. The system will automatically tell you, "they're not accepting any calls at the moment". Nor will they call you back and apologize until you can get through to them again 30 minutes later when they're fully booked.

Today I went to Etobicoke Veterinary Hospital in a panic. My dog has been vomiting and not able to keep food or water down for two days. I called in around 5:40pm and the receptionist said to come in immediately they could see my dog if I got there by 6:00pm and I explained that we were previous patients and this was a emergency situation. Due to rush hour traffic we got there around 6:05pm by the time the receptionist acknowledged our presence she was quick to remind us that we didn't get there exactly by 6:00pm. They asked us to come by tomorrow, however, we were already there waiting, and pleaded that they at least see if there was anything they could do to help. The receptionist went back two times to talk to someone at the back, and then we overheard the vet technician explain that she wasn't going to see our dog. We quickly stated that we tried our best to get there by 6:00pm but there was traffic, she then got extremely defensive stating that we should of said we were going to be late, and they don't have to see our pet today. We explained it was emergency situation, and we didn't anticipate the 5 minute delay. But I was immediately appalled by their total lack of empathy for the situation. They did not refer us to another clinic, or even ask for further details regarding what was wrong with our dog, but simply refused to see us. The outrageous part is that their posted hours of operation state that they close at 6:30pm. As I left the clinic I let them know that we would find a new vet for both our dogs. The tech rudely stated she would gladly fax over our paperwork. Both my dogs will be finding a new vet now. Both of them were patients, and I was even at the clinic last week for my dog's rabies, and DA2PP shots. Being loyal/paying customers does not matter to this clinic. I would not advise anyone to go here if you have an emergency situation with your pet.

My dog has a cyst on his back and the hole was big and we wanted to check in to the vet and so we called. They told us its very concerning that my dog had that cyst and could affect his but they would not accept due to the fact that they're full with non emergency calls. This is a walk in clinic that didn't even give us any information on how to treat nor find another hospital to support.

The doctors; the receptionists; and the fellow patients/owners are all patient and cheerful. Only on the rare solemn occasion when the candle on the reception desk is lit, and a pet with an incurable disease, is being assisted on its final journey to the Happy Hunting Grounds, do I feel sad and uncomfortable.???? Otherwise, this cheerful place full of cheerful people on Kipling Avenue, deserve at least one visit, if not multiple. Highly recommended.????????????

Our cat was diagnosed with HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) over a year ago. Two days ago she collapsed and suddenly started panting and howling so my mom rushed her to the nearest vet, here at 1972 Kipling. They had just closed their doors. My mom ran to the door and was crying and telling the receptionist that she didn't know if my cat was still breathing or how much longer she would be, but the receptionist turned her away and stated "They were closed and that there wasn't anyone at the clinic that could see our cat" so she directed us to the Emerg in South Etobicoke. As soon as my mom got into her cat SHE SAW SOMEONE LEAVE THE CLINIC WITH THEIR DOG. Our cat stopped breathing on the way to the emerg, and by the time she had taken her in there wasn't much they could do for her. Our cat Cocao exhibited symptoms of "saddle thrombus", a complication of HCM, and had she been taken to the vet in time she could have survived. I am outraged by the treatment my mother received from this clinic, and at the least at extra 10 minutes of their day could have saved our cat. I am filing a complaint with the CVO, and I hope no one else in our position in the future is turned away by such a callous and lazy attitude.

Best, most caring vet in Toronto. I've been taking my pets here for 22 years. - I initially wrote this 4 years ago and gave this vet 5 stars that I unfortunately need to take away. GO ANYWHERE ELSE The old owner would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what had happened to his hospital. The doctors’ incompetence and incompetence caused my dog 2 years of completely avoidable suffering and possibly his life. We brought him repeatedly for testing because his joints and limbs seemed weak. We were told we had to accept that he was just aging, nothing was wrong. He had Lyme disease that they somehow failed to treat and diagnose despite running multiple blood and urine analyses over the course of two years. He was unable to lift himself and was clearly in so much pain that we took him to this vet to be euthanized. We were all crying in the waiting room when they came out to tell us that there was a dark spot on his scans, probably cancer. They left and came back to report that they were wrong, he had Lyme disease and there was no issue with the scans. They prescribed a treatment and he could walk again within a few days. It was absolutely unbelievable. This incredibly common and treatable issue completely disintegrated his body over the course of two years. We were begging (and paying $$$) for help the whole time. I still can’t believe it. As if that weren’t enough, my dog passed away two months later because a tumour next to his spleen had burst. This is the same area where they saw this abnormality on that scan. Why on earth did they dismiss it? It could have been operable. We might have been able to save him. We put our trust in these vets and it was a mistake that cost my dog his life. Please go somewhere else.

This WAS where we took our pets ...On Monday this week our dog came home from a walk and was 'foaming from the mouth' at 9:30 a.m Called the Etobicoke Vet Hospital and was told there would be no vet in until 3:00.????...What Exactly are they there for earlier then? They referred me to Rexdale Veterinary Clinic.....Took my dog there had her examined..told she was 'all systems normal' and to take her home & watch her.....At 3:30 pm she went into a major Seizure...the people at Rexdale had told me to go to the Emergency Clinic on Norseman if there was a problem....Jumped into the car and took her to Norseman....Got there to be told 'no one here to help until 6:00...Are you kidding me?!...Valuable time lost...referred to Kingsway Vet.....took her there where she was stabilised ...Too Late....She had been in 'Seizure' for over 30 minutes....She was 'unresponsive' and we had to put her down...Broke our hearts! It was a rotten day...We loved our dog but can't see why at 9:30, a fairly normal time for activity, our dog couldn't be helped! Won't be going back to Etobicoke Vet 'Hospital'..or Rexdale! Rexdale should have suggested keeping her for observation... or at least not refer me to a clinic that is 'staffed', but not able to help 'one bit', until 6:00 pm....I take some responsibility of course and this won't happen again....Generally, just a sad story

I spent 10 years taking my American Pitbull to Dr. Richard who sadly passed away recently in March 2014. One of the nicest vets and only vet that has ever seen my dog. He was professional , but he also loved his job and even tho my dog did not like him he found ways around always getting him checked out accordingly. On august 25th 2014 , my dog ran from the backyard and the humane society found him and due to the law in Ontario , they required me to neuter him . I attended the clinic hoping to get a letter signed by a vet to say that my dog is not healthy enough to get neutered. Because he truely wasnt, he is about to hit 11 years old and he just does not have the energy or the stamina to survive much longer especially if he has to get neutered. So the humane society has given me 2 days or they will kill my dog, a family pet, a pet that has earned this clinic alot of money over 10 years. And a pet that has never hurt anyone , ever. and now they wont even help me save my dogs life. They know a 10 year old male pitbull is a grandfather and should not be neuteurd but they just want the money . its a shame .... I will never return to these dog killers ever again .
