Yesterday (Sept 24th) I went to Juan de Fuca to get insulin for my dog - I am not a client, I went with a prescription once the dog's vet didn't have any available. Once I was there, I also requested some syringes because the stock at home was low. The person who was attending was not friendly and did not show the syringes even after asking several times. Instead of helping me, she kept asking technical questions which I couldn't understand why (even after explaining that I know what type of syringes my dog needs). To make everything worst, she was indignant with me because I did not tell her that I was a client at the clinic (I went there before and it was more than a year ago) and she will have to put all the information again on the system under my file. After almost 10 minutes begging to see the syringes that she had available and was refusing to show, a vet came and in less than 5 minutes I was already out of the store, with my dog's insulin and the syringes. At that moment I remembered why I was no longer a customer. I was never so disrespected in customer service as I was in that clinic yesterday. That was the last time I return and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Every interaction we have had with members from this Vet has been outstanding! From our first time dropping in to register our family/pup, to coming in to get his nails trimmed, to the amazing puppy package (12 and 16 week shots, etc.) everyone was friendly and helpful. Our vet, Blythe, was amazing with our young puppy. He didn't even make a sound as she gave him his shot. Blythe was very helpful for first time puppy owners like us. The technician who trimmed our puppy's nails was also incredibly gentle and kind. Amazing experiences. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!

Dr.Gayfer truly is a godsend for my dogs. After nearly 2 years of seeing many vets because my dog had an issue that no one could figure out, he got to the bottom of it very quickly. He is honest and direct, which I always appreciate in a vet. The vet techs and support staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Thank you for being my cats (Wormy and Orio) care takers. After losing Orio yesterday, I am the first time catless in my life. I am so heart broken and in shock that my girl has left me. She had a great long life of 18 years. It only got better after we relocated in July, just too sad that her life was cut short unexpectedly. (Brain tumor) The care and attention you have provided my girls and the compassion and empathy shown after their passing speaks more than anything Thank you so much for all your help. I've always had a great experience with the staff here. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and every vet I've seen has been wonderful with care of my animals. They were even able to save a damaged tooth on my dog when it was originally thought she would need it to be pulled! I always recommend JDF vet clinic to everyone.

I have been taking my pets to Juan de Fuca Veterinary Clinic since I came to B.C. in 2000. I cannot give my Veterinary doctor, Dr. Margaret Cairns, enough accolades for her wise decisions and for all she does to explain the different problems that my pet was presenting when I brought it in for help. My pets recover quickly. She has a gentle caring manner with my pets and also in understanding our family's concerns. The staff at the desk are courteous, helpful always and knowledgeable. The clinic is always hygienically clean. I am very happy with the services offered.

100% recommend the JDF Vet Clinic!!! I don't usually write reviews, but after the excellent care my Baxter recieved I really wanted to acknowledge the staff for their hard work. A few months ago I took my boy in to get his teeth cleaned and some extractions. Baxter is 11.5 years old and so I get pretty nervous when he gets put under for his dental cleanings, however, he really needs it as his breed is super prone to bad teeth (bad oral health is not good for his overall health). Needless to say, I was so impressed by all the staff throughout the process. They were all so friendly, professional and reassuring, that I could not imagine having taken him anywhere else. The effort they put in to follow up and ensure that I was brought up to speed about Baxter's procedure and post-care, showed me how much they truly care about all the pets that come in. Thank you JDF Vet Clinic!

I have been going to JDF for three years and it has only been poor experience after the next and I will not be going back! Im not sure why it took me this long to post something. I truly don’t feel like my dog is in competent care with them. Some of the staff and even the vets are rude, unprofessional, and do not seem to care about providing the best experience for the pets. Go anywhere else!

We had ane awesome experience. Our 16 year old cat Pumpkin was really starting to show the signs of aging so we took her in for an assessment. Dr Mark Foley tended to us and was just amazing. He examined her and made some recommendations about further testing to find out more accurately her state of health as the initial assessment wasn't thorough enough to offer accurate advice. Sad story short we had to make a decision to send Pumpkin on her final journey. The process was very emotional for me as I had never had to do this before. We made an appointment and Dr Foley and his assistant came to our apartment and performed the procedure where she was most comfortable. This man has amazing compassion for animals and it shows. It doesn't hurt that he is a cat owner himself! We have 3bother cats and when they are in need of medical attention I will definitely be taking them here!!
