You know that we don't usually bother to set evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Veterinarian.
I trust them with all my animals!!!
Expensive!, Staff are pleasant.
Everyone here from the veterinarians to the front desk care about the pets. It shows. Their communication is top-notch. They took very good care of my Shiloh, even to the very end (miss you buddy). They are not the most inexpensive option but they are worth the extra. Highly recommended!
Good place friendly staff
We bring all our pets here.
Good people who want the best for your animal! My dog gets excited to go!
Always professional and caring for our fur family members.
We have been bringing out kittens here for their initial check-up, deworming, vaccines and boosters. The vets have always been great and answer all our questions. They are the sister hospital to Glenview animal hospital which is also great.
The staff at this veterinary clinic are wonderful: they really care about our pets and always have a cheerful attitude. Dr. Kinga Gortel is exemplary animal dermatologist from Alberta; too bad she doesn't come across anymore to visit the clinic. They lost a couple of really good veterinary doctors to other clinics and I haven't yet met one of the younger ones that I can really get along with (one of the young doctors misdiagnosed an elbow sore - with a high price tag for the recommended treatment - but I got a second opinion at another clinic and the sore is managed), so have been seeing the owner. He is professional, very highly knowledgable and open to innovative - and less expensive - solutions. I find the supply prices quite high and often travel to Saanichton to buy supplies when I can. I am surprised that all of the young doctors are female - in fact all of the office staff and technicians are, too. This seems to be the case in most vet clinics. I would like to see more diversity in these offices...at all levels...one day.... Overall, however, the service received at both Eaglerise and Glenview has been excellent and my dog especially loves going there: he is very healthy because of their attention and care. To those with concerns: talk directly to Dr. Chris Collis, in person. He is quite reasonable. That's what I did with the mis-diagnosis I mention above and the fees were sorted out.
We had to take our dog Bo here as he was vomiting all night. The staff were extremely kind, helpful and they booked us in quickly. They show and explain all the options for treatment and let you know the costs before proceeding, without any pressure at all. Huge thank you to Dr. Wyatt for helping our Bo and helping us understand what was going on, as we were very worried! He has recovered and is back to himself! Highly recommend and would totally trust them again with our pets in the future!
Good service every time we visit for our pets.
Always attentive to my pet's needs. Explai procedures and listen when I discuss my pet's issues.
Couldn’t be bothered to look at a small injury 1 week after a tick was removed just to be sure it was not infected. Wanted to charge for a tech appointment to follow up on work. This would have taken maybe 30 seconds to do at most after spending $200 on previous appointment. Will not return here
Dr. Hannahbess and the staff are all extremely helpful. She's always very honest and frankly I trust her judgement. Very prompt for returning phone calls and providing me with the proper information needed for my dog. I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to vets and the medication they recommend. But I do feel confident with Eagle Rise's approach and will continue to use them. - - - - I'd ignore the 2 negative reviews below from those pet owners who clearly don't understand having a animal is a responsibility both financially and emotionally. This really rubs me the wrong way. "Now my puppy is without his last set of shots and may be vulnerable to disease. Where is the compassion on their part do their duty as a vet and look after our pets." Chris Morrison, oh come on. Don't blame a vet practice that you're unable to take the financial responsibility to get your dog properly vaccinated. Take some accountability or don't own a dog. As a "compassionate" owner, you would have easily figure your dogs overall health is worth the "measly" $85 fee.
My dog just had the best vet experience he ever had! The receptionist was so friendly and helpful on the phone, when I initially booked my dogs first appointment here. When I went into the little office for his visit, the Dr's assistant was very gentle and friendly towards my very nervous lab. She gave him so many pets and treats. The Dr. was also amazing! She was so patient and really took her time making my dog feel as comfortable as she can, my dog loved her! I am very glad I chose to try out Eagle Rise Vet! I already booked his next appointment. My dog had a bad experience at his previous vet and I think Eagle Rise made up for that.
Best with my cat and me.
Dr Collis and his staff were amazing. We unfortunately lost our cat to a sudden, fast moving illness, but they made our terrible day much much easier.
So kind and helpful.
I would not recommend, makes you feel guilty for not shelling out $$$$ thousands for tests and surgeries......when your beloved pet of many years which is clearly dying of very old age and has no quality of life and in pain....this is not the humane option. Do not go here!
Thank you Eagle Ridge Veterinary for being truly amazing! After years of jumping from vet to vet searching for a place that showed as much love for my animal family as I feel, I'm so relieved to have finally found you. Your kindness, eye for detail, and sensitivity, to not only the wellbeing of my pets, my bank account and my own worries, has brought me much comfort and reassurance. I'm happy to say I have finally found the Veterinary clinic for my family!
Such amazing service, staff are so patient and kind. Extended hours are really helpful.
The best vet on Vancouver Island!! Such compassion for our 20 year old cat ????. We live about an hour away but the drive is always worth it to get the best care ❤
Beautiful facility, lovely staff. We are grateful for the kind and compassionate care received here.
This is the sister location of Glen View Animal hospital. Same great staff as we have known for 15 years with all our dog.
Every time I have gone to this hospital they have been super friendly, great vets and good experience. Highly recommend :)
Authentic compassionate and truly professional team. They made my little dude as comfortable as possible through the process of being "Snipped" I have nothing but good things to say about Eaglerise
Great service and very friendly staff! Bella says thank you!
Wonderful experience! All staff were caring and professional. They provide an estimate prior to proceeding with any treatment. Addressed my pets issue and did not pressure or even suggest anything other than what we came in for. I highly recommend Eagle Rise Animal Hospital. I will continue to bring my pets here, and recommend them to friends and family.

Probably the most thoughtful vet hospital. Everyone is friendly and they have reasonable prices as well. They sent me a handmade card after my chameleon had a procedure here. They really care.
A very caring and professional environment. They have been very thorough and sensitive with our older cats and very diligent with their care.
Caring, professional and quick service. These people are the real deal and don't use pushy sales tactics and absolutely love your pet. My cats seem to really like it there too. Dr. Hannabess is superb. Highly recommended
This is Kona, a super happy golden retriever who loves Eagle Rise. We have been going here since we lost our first boy Zeeke, a black lab. They were so kind and supportive when we had to let him go. And now with this handsome devil we continue to go here for regular check ups and the occasional bee sting and sprain. If you want a clinic that will love your pet as much as you do, this is the place ✌????☺️
Excellent staff and vets, very friendly
Very friendly staff
Dr. Collis, Dr. MacIntyre and his staff have given our 3 precious labradors the best medical care imaginable for the past 16 years. Dr. Collis is so kind, knowledgeable, energetic, and thorough! Dr. MacIntyre is the most intelligent, empathetic, skilled physician we have ever come across. Our labradors are our angels. Dr. MacIntyre is like their guardian angel. When our labradors are sick, I could swear that Dr. MacIntyre stays up at night, figuring out what is wrong with them and how to treat them. Our remaining two labradors are 16 years old and would not be here with us any longer without Dr. MacIntyre and Dr. Collis. Our little Ebba (our black Labrador), has three terminal illnesses, but with the help of Dr. MacIntyre, she is still a happy, mischievous little monkey who can’t wait to get up in the morning and create a little mischief. She had open heart surgery two years ago. Without Dr. MacIntyre’s tremendous skill in diagnosing veterinary illnesses, we would not have known that she needed to surgery. The surgery was very difficult and it is a miracle that she made it, but she did! Dr. MacIntyre is nothing less than a guardian angel and a genius – there is no doubt about it! Dr. MacIntyre is such an excellent doctor, that I am occasionally just a little bit jealous of the fabulous medical care that our girls receive. I once jokingly asked Dr. MacIntyre if she could be my doctor. She is such a sweet, sincere lady – she told me that she thought we might run into some difficulty when it came to writing prescriptions. For a short time following the surgery, Ebba experienced anxiety – it broke my heart to see our happy little monkey shaking and her teeth chattering without knowing what to do to make her feel better. I was at my wits end! I was so worried that one of her 3 terminal illnesses was causing her unbearable pain. One day, while we were at Glenview, I spoke to Kristin Guldin (a wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable veterinarian assistant) about Ebba’s anxiety. She suggested that we try a herbal remedy called zylkene. It worked like a charm! Ebba’s anxiety disappeared completely after a couple of days and has never returned. Dr. Collis has clearly put a great deal of care into hiring the people on his team. Every single one of them is a gem among gems. The ladies at the front desk (Vanessa and Lisa) have so much patience and listen with such care and attention whenever we need to call. They have even offered to help us plan and schedule the type and regular pickup of our dog food in order to help us save time and money! In short, Dr. Collis, Dr. MacIntyre and everyone at Glenview have had the most incredible positive impact on our lives – they have given us many additional happy years with our two little angels. There are no words that can express our gratitude and no way for us to repay them! Nonetheless, we would like to say: Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts :-) Laura Phelps, Pelle and the Girls
Awsome veterinary services
Friendly kind staff and understanding. Recently had to say goodbye to our cat of many years. We didn't feel rushed or guilty. They were caring and supportive.
I own four animals (two large dogs, a boa constrictor, and a bearded dragon) and I am well rehearsed in the veterinarian/animal hospital scene. When my boa constrictor suddenly became ill, I had an extremely hard time finding a reliable reptile veterinarian, as he has never shown signs of illness in his (3 years of) life. I own a bearded dragon as well, and from previous, extensive experience, there was no veterinarian who actually had my trust in handling exotic animals. I had a veterinarian actually say to my face "I haven't seen a reptile in over 10 years; what is his normal routine?" Disgusted, I self diagnosed my dragon and cared for his illness myself (I do have an extensive medical background and am aware of self diagnosis etc.). It turned out to be okay, but my boa was a different story. He became very ill, and was not something I was prepared to deal with on my own. After a few holistic approaches, I turned to Eagle Rise animal hospital. Being jaded from other veterinarians, I was very cynical going into this appointment, however, I was quickly put at ease when a veterinarian named Doctor Hannahbess Thomson-Laing came into the office with a confident look, and reassuring reasoning; she had just finished surgery on a iguana early that day. She handled my stressed boa with ease, listened to my background of husbandry, and prediction of potential illness, and came to a conclusion of her own that was reasonable. Her entire team, even the few that were wary of snakes, handled my baby with a professionalism that could only come from a true love of animals. I followed her extensive routine for care; after the medication ended, and my boa had a few days to show signs of recovery, he became his normal self again. I have never had a person, let alone a veterinarian, care so much about my beloved boa as I did; It was refreshing! After this experience, I will be bringing all my animals to this hospital as I have full trust in their capability to care, diagnose reasonably, and professionally.
Amazing experience at Eagle Rise recently! 100% recommend them ????
Unfortunately I had a unpleasant experience with the scheduling of my animal. My pet had a large surgery appointment that was scheduled on a day that I could take her on my lunch break. They had then moved my appointment (days later) to accommodate their own schedule. At this point they told me if the new time didn't work for me, my dog would have to come a different day. It was disheartening, and did not seem very professional in my opinion.
Professional service. The best cat handling I've ever seen. Three injections each without a twitch from either cat.
Great place
Staff are so caring and compassionate. My hedgehog passed the other day and the staff were very kind and respectful of the situation as well as helped with the processes I had to go through after. I am very thankful and will most likely bring any future furry family members here.
Courteous and professional staff.
Have been going here for years they are all so kind .
Very affordable, and extremely compassionate staff members. This morning i had to make a very difficult phone call to Glenview Animal Hospital, to have a beloved pet put to rest. The receptionist was very polite and kind over the phone, she quoted me for the procedure (which was a fifth of the price of some other animal hospitals) I asked how they performed the procedure and she took the time to describe to me it in detail. I was referred to their sister clinic called Eagle Rise who had an open appointment today. The vet visit was very difficult for my partner and I; however, the experience was exactly as it was represented over the phone, and somehow the best vet experience we've both ever had. I highly recommend Eagle Rise Animal Hospital, along with Glenview Animal Hospital.
Good care for our sick pup.
The staff are all so helpful and put your mind at ease. The vets are solution focused but also keep in mind the high cost of many of their services. I always feel like I wasn’t taken advantage of and that my kitty is in good hands! They never gauge you and offer reasonable treatment plans. Plus, each visit is always a pleasant one. My cat doesn’t seem to mind the vet at all because he likes the treats and special snuggles he gets. Clean facility! Also, helpful and quick phone call advice available.
So grateful to the veterinarians and staff of Eagle Rise for providing such amazing and loving care to our pup.
The exotics vet here (I've forgotten his name) is absolutely lovely, and shows his care for each animal. The staff is friendly and also I find very comforting in their demeanors.
My boy diggerz had cancer on the paw they did an amazing job on his surgery and follow up. We saw them weekly and my dog was actually excited to c them I thank them for there continued help. They r affordable and seem to actually care about the patients
The Eagle Rise team is dedicated to providing the best care for any pets, big or small! I have been coming here since October after adopting my Manx kitty. The staff are so warm and welcoming, every check-up is worth the money because I have the piece of mind that my kitty is being taken care of the best in the business!
The vet is the best and all the people that work there are the best with animals
They were fantastic when I had to euthanize my fancy rat in 2012. Last year I left my name and number with reception on two different occasions (to order medication and to see a particular vet I had been referred to by a trainer) and never heard back from them. Unless their staff and/or communication policies have changed since then, I wouldn't recommend going here.
Great staff here. We have always been treated well and given the care needed. No hesitation to make the visit here for any pets needs. There have been a few times we couldn't get a same day appointment, but that is no fault of Eagle Rise.
Chris Morrison Same thing just happened to me... however we were not told about the fee again until after the shots... To make matters worst, we had to bring 2 puppies in... So we had an extra $170 in fees and now not enough money for Groceries... Its absolute bs. I know of 3 vets that if its the second set of required shots within a 3 month span they will not charge you the second fee, at the very least, if you are bringing them in at the same time, they will wave at least one of the fees since they are not taking up a second time slot!!!!! Which is what we did.... They didnt even do a second annual wellness exam... Went it, got the shots and left... was only until my husband came home and told me the price that I looked into it... Then, I called to complain, and the guy who called actually said, well Im going to believe the vet who saw the puppies over you.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He goes well its against the law to not do a wellness exam before getting shots... Well you know what it may be against the law to not do the exam (which you didnt do so Im reporting you) but it is not against the law to not charge for a second unnecessary exam that you didnt even do... not even 2 months ago, they charged me almost $700 to put down my beloved Saydee who had liver cancer. Now this, well over another $800 in 2 months... WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE, Money hungry POS is what they are and do not care about the animals over getting money. Who dont even do proper exams and will be reported for doing what they are doing.
Came here for my puppy, and it was a great experience! The Vet and Tech were super friendly and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet to my daughter.
Came in for a flea problem. This erupted into a $1700 dental quote and "further tests". Went to another vet and it was substantially less money. Basically the same experience as others have had, predators who are after nothing but your wallet.
Everyone here is amazing, highly recommended
Friendly staff. Dr. Wyatt was great as was the vet tech and front office person
They got us in pretty quickly and although we ended up having to put our sweet girl down, they did everything they could and sent us on to Waves when they had exhausted every option available to them.
I won't be going back! In the past I have had great experience. The last time I brought my cat in it seemed like a money grab. Instead of checking out my cat I was given multiple dental quotes they didn't even weigh my cat or give him a proper exam. I was very disappointed!!!
I thought I had a great vet before moving (and I guess I did) but I was blown away with our first visit here. The great experience started the moment we walked in and continued throughout our time there. I didn't get names of all the staff, but Doctor Gage was very thorough and our dog loved everyone there. All of our concerns were taken seriously, even though we were likely just being overly protective of our fur baby. Our dog was given a clean bill of health and we were given some proactive steps to keep him healthy (no "upselling" as I've seen before). I'm thankful to have a great vet that happens to be nearby and I couldn't recommend Eagle Rose more.
Lovely staff here! Great selection of food!
Incredibily helpful, kind, prfessional staff. What a great experience dealing with this facility! I wish we lived closer, this would be the only clinic we would go to. Highly recommended!
Eagle Rise has been nothing but excellent to us. All of the staff are very knowledgeable and super caring when it comes to the wellbeing of your little furry one. Highly recommended!
Dr. Gage is really a great vet. Our dog is full of energy and a bit nervous at the vet. Dr. Gage is so patient and finds ways to help him feel at ease. Front desk staff are always kind and helpful too.

Always caring with our Bengals and give us options once the exam is complete, fully explaining the procedures and prices recommended. Happy with Eagle Rise and thier staff, would recommend.
I brought my elderly cat in for an exam after she was throwing up for several days. The initial vet (Wolford?) diagnosed "possible" chronic pancreatitis and sent me away with "specialty" gastrointestinal food which--when I researched it--is full of cellulose fiber, is very expensive, and which she would not eat. Several other prescriptions and pain meds (at great expense) were filled. When my cat's condition worsened, to the point of not grooming or eating much, I phoned back and asked for follow-up, which took more than a day for a response. Second visit, I asked if subcutaneous fluids might help due to "slight" kidney disease that showed up on tests. Was told "You could try that." (Note to self: why wasn't this recommended when it took a five minute Dr. Google search to indicate this would be appropriate supportive care for mild kidney disease as part of the "triad" of pancreas, liver, kidney?) Condition worsened over the weekend, and in desperation, followed up with Dr. Collis, who strongly inferred that my only option was to put my cat down. I wasn't clear on the actual diagnosis, and when I asked him about this, was told I could admit my cat for force feeding and additional tests (I believe the quote was $2,000!) Otherwise, my "best" option was to put her down as she "probably" had cancer and was old. I also recall him saying, "Pancreatitis is a maddening disease for a maddening species." I found that comment to be not only upsetting, but unprofessional and had to conclude that he is a "dog person". In his line of work, shouldn't he like all animals? Just sayin'. I had spent more than $1,000 at this point. Fortunately, I sought out a second opinion from the Capital Cat Clinic at Elk Lake. What a difference! When I explained the lack of food intake for three days, Dr. Jackie Lee told me to get to bring my cat to her asap, and cleared her other appointments. She made face-to-face contact, actually listened, and was very empathetic. I liked the fact that even with Covid protocols, I could view the treatment through a window, which helped to keep my pet calm as well. Turns out pancreatitis was mild and not chronic, a few squamous cells but no primary cancer diagnosis, just a prescription to settle her stomach, and administering of daily fluids to support kidney disease as the main diagnosis. Did not charge for follow-up appointment(s) either. Four months later, my cat has a new lease on life. I've cut out kibble, but no dietary changes other than that. For half the price. So unfortunately, I can't recommend Eagle Rise clinic. I feel overcharged for the level of "service" and just as some others have said, I feel that there is a cash grab in play here. One receptionist was also quite snitty and abrupt and "scoldy" every time I dealt with her. In short, I won't be back and would advise cat owners--particularly those with geriatric cats--to avoid this place. Capital Cat Clinic, based on my experience, is superlative in every way.
They have always taken good care of my yellow lab Hobbes. Just wanted to send out a big thank you for getting him in earlier today. I always feel that Hobbes is in great care when I take him hear and all the staff are wonderful. Thanks again eagle rise and staff!
Kind, caring and compassionate. Very compassionate.
Staff were very kind and helpful. Made us feel like our pet was their pet. No shadow charges or miscomunications.
I was very impressed with the location and the staff! As a former vet assistant at another practice, I have high standards for the care of my animals. The facility is gorgeous and clean, the staff were wonderful and caring. The vet was very knowledgeable and only provided me the services and medication necessary to treat my fur baby. I will be taking my current and future pets to this practice!
DO NOT use this vet. It's just a money grab. I took my puppy in today for his final set of shots and they refused to administer the shots unless he was given another full exam by the vet for another $85.00. He had just had a full exam one month earlier when he received his second set of shots. I refused to pay another $85.00 for another full exam so soon so they told me to find another vet. The vet was quite unprofessional and advised me that she had contacted the owner Dr. Collis and he confirmed that they would not administer the shots without the exam. What a rip off. He also owns Glenview Animal Hospital so I would avoid that one as well. Now my puppy is without his last set of shots and may be vulnerable to disease. Where is the compassion on their part do their duty as a vet and look after our pets. They'd rather send me away for a measly $85.00 than give the shots. WOW! If something happens to my dog you can bet I will be taking legal action against them.
We have been bringing our puppy here since we adopted him and have never been disappointed. Its a clean and welcoming environment with veterinarians that are welcoming, professional and always willing to take the time to answer questions. They even have been willing to answer concerns via the telephone while others with our past fur baby always said bring him in. Highly recommend Eagle Rise.
We're so grateful to Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Collis and Justine for your assistance and sensitivity during such a difficult time. Thank you.
I had to put my cat to sleep, the folks at Eagle Rise were so kind, caring and did it with so much respect. They told us to take all the time we needed with our pet. Thank you for your compansion and care.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff
Very care staff
Nice and friendly staff.
We had to wait 4 hours to put our dog down even though we had an appointment. It was an awful experience. Will never go back
Our dog Leo has seen his fair share of vets given his propensity to GI upset and multiple allergies. After moving to the island we were apprehensive about finding a vet we liked as much as our previous vet in Vancouver. This faded quickly after meeting Dr. Gage. She was fabulous with Leo. She took all our concerns seriously and has been so wonderful to work with ever since. Leo gets excited to see her and is hardly as stressed about visiting the vet as he has been in the past. Would highly recommend Dr. Gage and the lovely clinic staff at Eagle Rise.
I have found my new vet. After my dog Mapacha got something in her paw today I had to book a last minute appointment and I had never been to eagle rise Before, Dr.Wolford was amazing with my mexican rescue. My 4-5 year old mexican street mutt has super high anxiety and doesn’t like to be restrained at all. Upon coming in the room she didn’t just start right away, she gave Mapacha treats and gave her tons of love, so my dog felt more comfortable! Then continued to do the entire exam on the ground so she didn’t have to be put up on the counter - which she hates so much. It was a painful day for her poor foot already so I am so grateful I - in a pinch - had to bring her here. Beyond happy and will definitely be coming back whenever she needs a vet appointment! The girls who had to put her bandage on, were so amazing with her!! It wasn’t fun but we did it and you guys did an awesome job! Thank you for making my already anxious dog so much more comfortable than any vet ever has!
My experiences at Eagle Rise have always been very positive. Everyone I have dealt with there has been friendly, patient, polite, and understanding. I have no hesitation recommending this clinic.
Great care!
So Nyx (my leopard gecko) went to the vet because something was going on with her eye. It was stuck closed and she had a massive hard thing in it. Luckily it wasn't attached to her cornea. The amazing vey managed to remove it, without compromising her eye or sight. He also said she was one of the most well behaved and handled lizard he's ever seen and she was in excellent health. Now she's in recovery at home just needing some eye drops. She even holds her eye open for me while I put drops in and makes everything so easy. I'm so happy thag she loves and trusts me so much, while I haven't had her very long. Huge shout out to the vet, Dr Collis at Eagle Rise Animal Hospital for being so gentle with my little gecko and saving her sight! I highly recommend this vet clinic. They looked after my rats when I had them as well and were so careful with them. :) this place is great.
Always friendly and helpful.
They take such good care of all my fur babies
Fabulous Veterinarian's and staff. Extremely thorough and very compassionate. I highly recommend this clinic for all your fur babies!
Very friendly staff
The staff were amazing from begining to end. Very kind and helpful on the phone and listened and took time with my pet while I was in the office. No unnecessary charges or presure to get extra treatments, even though it was the first time I had taken my "rescue" cat in. The Vet. was extreemly kind to us and listened to our needs. She made me feel confident about sending my cat with a relative across the country before we road tripped to our new home. Would recomend them to anyone I know. Wonderful, wonderful clinic.
Lovely staff from the receptionist to the techs to the vet. We've had a lot of visits with our pup over the last month and you can tell they really care about all animals and are so kind to nervous owners. The fact that I can hear them sweetly talking to my boy reassuring him when I'm in the waiting room means everything.
Excellent care for pets AND owners!
If I could give a lower rating I would. Have seen them for annual check ups and shots for my two cats and the whole thing felt like a money grab and upsell. They were cold and only concerned with what other services they could upsell. Fast forward to this week and one of my cats is having a flare up of a preexisting medical condition and needed eye drops to calm flare. I have no way to get him there safely with everything happening right now with covid and my own health and abilities and they refused to provide a reup for his normal eye drops even with him being well within the time frame they are allowed to prescribe over the phone. Their main concern is to make money and not to maintain the health and comfort of their patients. I will never be going back. This clinic is run by terrible, heartless people.
