I came to Capilano Animal Clinic based on the wonderful Google reviews and I am so happy I did. My dog was very sick and I didnt know why. Dr. Sung listened to everything I had to say and she was very thorough and caring. I was not surprised with the total amount of the bill after the visit because she gave me an estimate of everything before she proceeded with any tests.The reception staff was very friendly and helpful also. Over all I had a very good experience with Capilano Animal Clinic.

They are also one of the few vets I've been to that take pet pain management into consideration when prescribing medication.

They are the best animal clinic you should ever go to! I just had to take my diabetic cat once again to see Doctor Sung, she was wonderful as always. It is also all the staff that work there that are incredible. I forgot my insulin in there fridge there and Syntia came and dropped it off at my house after she was done work. I can not thank her enough! They are really kind hearted people that will go above and beyond. On a side note if you are looking for a Vet for your allergic pet, I tied everything for my dog, and Dinovite finally solved my problem. Obviously it may not work for all situations, but worth looking up after you consult with your veterinarian first!

Very nice, cheerful staff. The only thing about this location is the waiting room is tiny. The reception desk is right next to the front door. This can be challenging, especially when you have a large dog that you're trying to keep away from another client's cat.

Everyone at the clinic were so compassionate and caring when our kitten passed from a pre-existing condition not long after we adopted him. They made sure to write us condolence cards and provided us with complementary paw prints as a keepsake. A top-notch vet clinic!

I'm the proud owner of a domestic longhaired tortoiseshell girl named Kreature. Recently, I knew it was time to schedule her for a check-up, but was saddened to hear that her regular veterinarian, Dr. Rosetti, had passed away a few years ago. Capilano Animal Clinic came highly recommended by neighbours, so I went to their website and submitted an e-mail inquiry. They responded to my inquiry the next business day, and were able to schedule us in for an appointment which fit my 9-to-5 5-days-a-week schedule. The clinic is located conveniently on 50th Street across the road from Walmart, and has dedicated 2-hour parking at the front. We arrived a bit earlier than needed, and I was pleasantly surprised when the receptionist told me they could fit me in earlier. The front reception area was clean and quiet, and features a rescue feline named Maggie, who I'm told is not a big fan of furry friends. We were ushered into an exam room right away, and waited less than a minute to meet with Dr. Sung. She was very calm, friendly and informative, and was gentle with my girl, who isn't great with strangers. Dr. Sung and the veterinary technician (I'm sorry, I completely forgot your name!) handled her with care and compassion. Dr. Sung was able to make recommendations for anti-anxiety medication, which is something I didn't even know existed for cats, and was able to give my girl vaccinations with zero incident. An added bonus was the more than reasonable price I was quoted, which didn't change once I arrived at the appointment. I'm very, very glad that we met Dr. Sung, and will be more diligent about making sure my girl gets the care she needs.

We have taken three of our cats to this location, their staff - especially Dr. Sung - is incredible. Their fees are totally reasonable and they break them down for you, and also provide you options to best meet your budget. Recently we lost one of our animals and they were fantastic about the entire situation. It kind of came put of no where that our cat passed and the compassion and care they showed us was incredible. No desire to go to another vet ever!

I had to make the gut wrenching decision to put my cat of 14 years down. I had my wife and friend take her there, as it was too distressing for me. They treated the whole situation with compassion, respect, and dignity. When I got my cat's cremated remains back, it came in a bag with her name stenciled into it, the urn, a card signed by all the staff. Such a heart warming gesture from a true team of professionals. They really made this difficult time a lot easier, and I can not thank them enough for everything. Thank you!!

When my senior dog had some issues with her blood work, Dr. Leversedge called after the clinic had closed and explained everything in detail for me. Significantly more affordable than my last vet as well, which is a huge bonus.

I've been a client here since at least 2013, and Capilano Animal Clinic is by far the best vet clinic I've ever gone to! All of the staff treat you well, don't talk down to you, and do their best to help. The doctors are excellent--my pup has been seen by both Dr. Sung & Dr. Leversedge, but Dr. Leversedge is her usual vet. They seem knowledgeable and caring and take the time to ask questions and listen. They don't throw around worry words or order needless testing/changes without explaining their reasoning like some clinics seem to, they just do their best to help you keep your pets healthy. I always leave feeling informed rather than worried and unsure. Costs are reasonable and the price of additional testing and/or medications is discussed beforehand to ensure you are prepared. They don't have any payment plan options, however, so like most clinics, expect to pay for everything at the end of your visit. Because this clinic is so well-liked, it can be tough to get an appointment. Book wellness checks in advance and be prepared with a backup clinic if you need more urgent care as they often can't accommodate last minute appointments. They do have a sister clinic that they recommend,that but I've never tried it. There are no Sunday hours (like with many clinics) and few evening hours available, so make sure you check the website to see what their hours are. Honestly, the fact that they're always booked up makes me trust them more, even if the lack of availability is sometimes an inconvenience to me. I have a now-senior dog with allergies, a heart murmur, and hypothyroidism, so I make a trip to the vet fairly often to keep up with her health, and I'm always impressed by them. Overall, this is an excellent clinic that I would recommend to anyone!

Staff asked if it was ok when they did stuff to my fur ball, and explained what they did, and answered every question I had. Beat my expectations, and they even didn't mind when Frodo had an accident. Probably a common occurrence, but I felt relieved. Pun intended.

During their business hours they are what I feel to be one of the undisputed champions of this city for pets. My family switched to this clinic years ago. We find the staff here to be compassionate and generally are driven by a desire to do the right thing for all their activities. We've become familiar to the staff and this is what I've come to as far as a conclusion. Just like anyone else can tell you here in Edmonton, good vet care is hard to come by. I've learned to see this place and its staff like my shelter from the storm. They can carry out a fair deal of procedures and are very consistent in following up with their patients as needed. Unfortunately they do not have any over night services so they can't be there for all the emergencies that life may throw at you. But their hours of operation are quite generous and they work some long hours nonetheless. We brought our dogs here for treatment after coming from other clinics. One observation that I noted right away was that our pet received a real treatment plan that had noticeable impact. Our options were laid out to us professionally, and every choice made was out of education to the risks and benefits without fail. We feel much more confident as a family to know that our pets who can't speak for themselves are getting their best chance to receive the care they need here. Sadly I can't and won't say that for some of the other clinics in this city. I've been here time and time again for years. They earned this review just like the many others seen here. Mine is just long over due. Thank you Capilano Animal Clinic!!!

Dr. Leversedge is absolutely wonderful, gentle, kind, and clearly skilled and passionate about her work. We've brought both of our cats to Capilano Animal Clinic, and even though they would both normally struggle and hide, Dr. Leversedge is so gentle that they don't feel threatened by her at all! She also answers any of our questions seriously, explains everything clearly and calmly to us, and always gives us choice in our cats' treatment without any pressure or judgement. Prices are high, but veterinarian fees always will be, and Capilano Animal Clinic seems to provide the lowest fees that they reasonably can.

This clinic is awesome!! I have tried many vets over my dog’s 7 years and I have never been so happy with a clinic. Cubbie has now been there three times, the last time was yesterday after he ingested something bad in the park. Dr Sung is so wonderful and thorough and she explains everything in great detail. She goes over all of your options and solutions and doesn’t force unnecessary testing. I had taken Cubbie to emerg early in the morning the day before and paid so much for just fluids and anti biotics. Dr Sung did way more for Cubbie and the price was way less. I know emerg prices are generally higher but even my previous vet whom Cubbie had been seeing for 3 years was almost double the price for the exact same medication, procedures and visits. At my first appointment/meet and great I had come in frustrated and just at my wits end with my previous vet and how they were handling Cubbie’s allergies and what it was costing me with still no solution. Dr Sung went through ALL of my options in detail and even wrote out notes for me to take home. We started with a new drug I hadn’t tried or even been offered previously that was way more affordable, easier to use and that has way less side effects for. After 7 years he is finally FINALLY not scratching!! I am so relieved and I know he is SO much happier. Oh also, Dr Sung followed up personally with a phone call and and then an email (after I missed the call) three days later to see how Cubbie was reacting to the new drug. I was so impressed and felt like I’d finally found a vet who genuinely cares about my furbaby first! I honestly can not say enough and have told everyone I know how truly wonderful they are here.

We ended up at the Capilano Animal Clinic out of desperation after spending almost all of our funds at another animal hospital. Our cat was still dying and we had no answers. We explained our situation to Dr. Sung who was kind, compassionate and really listened to every detail we as owners thought was important in figuring out what was going on with our beloved pet. Dr. Sung had already looked over the notes from the other clinic that we had faxed over and did her physical exam. I was beyond impressed with her ability to lay out all of the possible culprits, in continuing diagnostic, and being up front with all costs and understanding our finances had been tapped at another clinic. She didn't make us feel bad for not having thousands more to spend and came up with a plan that fit our budget. We left with renewed hope, but not feeling too optimistic. Dr. Sung called personally a couple days later to check and see how our cat was doing, miraculously, he was in fact doing better, a LOT better. I cannot stress that Dr. Sung saved our cat's life. If we had ended up at another animal hospital, I feel it very likely that our cat would not be with us today. Her knowledge and ability to come up with the best plan possible for us, our cat and our budget is what saved his life.

Any time I have called this place for my pet’s sickness, they put you in the queue for a regular appointment. Some issues are not considered an emergency, but still should be seen promptly otherwise it becomes an emergency! One should be able to rely on your vet clinic in these situations. My dog has kennel cough. I was told that it could be serious if they aspirate. Capilano vet clinic does not care! Hey, we can get you in, in two weeks! I should not have to incure the costs of an emergency vet just to get her temperature taken in the event that antibiotics are required.

Dr. Leversedge is a wonderful person and vet. We saw her for 12 years with our boxer and now for 3 years with our standard poodle. Dr. Sung is also very good. We see her off and on when we can't get in to see Dr. Leversedge. Our friends also take their dog to this vet as they love it as do we.

Dr. SUNG is amazing, she is so good with our hyper pup, so kind and patient. The cost of care at Capilano Animal Clinic is extremely reasonable. We just finished with our follow-up appointment that Dr. Sung suggested we have, it didn’t cost us anything because they care about the health and healing of our dog and not the money the business could make. The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating, I will not go anywhere else now that I’ve discovered this place.

We've been using this clinic for nearly 20 yrs for our dogs. Sunday night we had to go to the vet emerg for our poor guy, and were told to follow up with our regular vet the next day. We called and were told that our dog with serious injuries (including an open wound) was not going to be able to be seen for 2 days, and the person on the phone told us to find another vet. I guess customer loyalty means nothing. We did find another vet and that will be our new vet from now on. Extremely disappointed with the customer service and lack of accommodation for seriously injured pets!
