Have been taking both my cat and dog to see Dr. Percy Howlett since we got both animals and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Howlett cares for the animals and is very patient and kind. I feel like their pricing is pretty standard and have not had an experience in 10+ years of using this vet where I thought the price I paid was too high or questionable. We experienced a medical emergency with our dog a couple of years ago and they were quick to get him in for treatment. As we had to leave our dog there for treatment, the staff provided us with frequent updates in regards to what was going on. I moved to the south side of Edmonton yet continue to make the trip to the north side seeing as both I and my animals are comfortable with the doctor and treatment they receive here. Would absolutely recommend.

For a second vac and checkup it was about 125. Other places started at 130 before vac. I'm definitely going to make this place my home vet for the pup.

Our calico, who was quite possibly the runt of the litter, has had her share of medical issues. She's had problems with a nail that was injured and not recovering. We went to Belle Rive a second opinion. Though we know that our calico will always have various issues, we received solid options for the nail issue, and our calico has improved. Dr. Howlett and the staff's demeanour has been perfect for our two cats. He is excellent with cats and caring, and we've had prompt care with good Covid precautions. And our "little darlings" come home showing very little stress from their visit. Our second opinion has become our new vet! Great job!

Making an appointment is a requirement which ensures there is no sitting in the waiting room. Services performed are expedited so the length of the visit is done in the least amount of time possible.

From the time we brought our previous wonderful dog Spanky to Belle Rive Pet Hospital (he had chronic health issues and visited there often) until his passing, which was done with empathy and consideration to our current dog "Mr. Personality" Wylie "coyote", Dr. P. Howlett and his wife Dr. M. Howlett have been responsive; especially on short notice. They listen to my concerns and are open to alternative suggestions. Dr. P. Howlett is an encyclopedia of information. The staff are professional and friendly. There is now continuous follow up with pet acute concerns. Every vet can be costly but you need to consider the cost of equipment, education, overhead and leases. It is important to have an excellent rapport with your vet as in the past with another vet clinic, I did not have that. Do they care about your pet at Belle Rive? Yes, they do and I highly recommend them.

My family has been bringing our pets (2 dogs and 1 cat) to Belle Rive Pet Hospital for over 10 years. I don’t think there is a better vet out there than Dr. Howlett! Dr. Howlett is so good at making a connection with the animal almost instantly. He makes them feel comfortable when they’re in the room with him as fast as he can which I could not appreciate more because some of my pets experience a lot of anxiety. He is also highly educated and is obviously very interested in educating the owner as much as he can about their pets health and well being. I appreciate that he doesn’t rush and he asks any and all questions you may have with a kind and patient countenance. The staff of Belle Rive Pet Hospital are always friendly and kind to my pets. I’ll never go anywhere else!

That’s six precious months filled with irreplaceable memories. During that time, Dr. Howlett continually adjusted Simba’s medication to improve his quality of life. I highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone And everyone. This is the fourth vet we have seen for care of our diabetic cats and the only one who was able to support us in taking care of our pets at home. He is well researched and informed and Happily educated us about our pets condition without overwhelming us. He gave us a simple yet effective solution For home care along with ALL the necessary gear and special food. The other vets we have seen did not provide us with syringes or a prescription diet and were not accurate in assessing the complications of our older cats Condition which resulted in undue suffering for our pet at the end of her life. This clinic is solid gold. If you value integrity in health care he’s your guy❤️

This doctor cares about your pet. You can tell just by watching him interact with "your little buddy"... ALSO, This Doctor cares about the pets, not the money. He does not recommend treatments just for the money. I had a little dog who was going blind. He told me about possible operations out there and then he told me that they were not only expensive but had a very poor success rate. The office staff are very friendly and always do a follow-up phone call after a visit. I would recommend him to anybody.

I have no idea why my review of Belle Rive got entered initially as a 1 star...if there was a way of rating higher than 5...I would. Dr. Howlett is a super person to deal with, handing my concerns and questions without making me feel an absolute fool. He seems to treat every animal as if they were his own. If there is a way for you to have Belle Rive as your care provider for your animal I would, without hesitation, absolutely recommend them. They always follow up after a visit to make sure that your animal is ok and there are no concerns. Just super all around. In an age of what seems to be a "me, me, me" mentality, it is refreshing and reassuring to know there are still good people like the staff of Belle Rive in this world.

For many years we brought our cat Eowyn to Belle Rive and received wonderful care. Eowyn was diagnosed with severe kidney disease 3 years ago. At the time her weight loss was rapid and it didn't look like she would make it any longer than 6 months. With a lot of diligent care and help from Dr. Howlett we were able to keep Eowyn going for 3 years with a great quality of life. Dr. Howlett always took the time to thoroughly examine Eowyn, research treatment options and present to us in a clear manner what we could/should be doing. Dr. Howlett and his staff provided exceptional care to Eowyn over the years and there was never a clinical feel to her treatment. Eowyn was always very comfortable and so were we. This culminated recently in the dreaded end of life decision we were forced to make as Eowyn had started a steep decline again and it was plain to see that this time was different. The staff created a comforting atmosphere for this last appointment and everything was explained really well. In the end, through this heartbreaking experience, everyone at Belle Rive was very supportive and wonderful. I would highly recommend Belle Rive to anyone and if(when) we get another pet in the future we will most definitely be bringing them to Dr. Howlett for care.
