Bringing your animal to the vet is never an easy task, or at least not for me. From the moment you enter to the second you leave, you feel the support and overall team work of the staff at C.V.M. They explain each process step by step so you, the owner, understands what is going to be done with your animal and why. One MAJOR aspect I appreciated was the fact that they gave an estimate before starting any procedure to insure that you not only have the means to pay for the vet bill but agree on what is being done to your pet. As we know, vet bills can get quite high. They are aware of these costs and work in you and your animals interest to eliminate all other options before spending more money. Finally, their love and care for animals is the purest demonstration of why the employees and replacement staff at C.V.M. are so great at their jobs. Special shout out from Billie to her tante Marie-Hélène from Hôpital Vétérinaire Grande-Allée Mascoucheu and Jenna for being so patient and loving with my little boll of terror.

It is by far the worst vet clinic when it comes to sick pets, don't go there if your pet requires medical attention. The vet is incompetent and only cares about money. I took my cat there years ago, he had a uninary blockage...and had a procedure to remove the stones, he was in a very bad shape after the procedure and the next day I had to rush him to the hospital because he was still blocked, even though they told me they removed them!! I have decided to post a review that late because my cat has been to other hospitals and vet clinics after for the same issue. What a difference!

Two vets Told me that my 8 month cat is pregnant to rush into doing the spaying surgery which costs 500$. Went to spca instead paid 85$ and when the nurse checked her she'd asked whether I'm sure she's pregnant and I responded "yes two vets said so " after the surgery we discovered that she wasn't pregnant. I used the services of the Monkland Vet for many years, as my Brussels Griffon had many health issues. The staff go out of their way to provide a hospitable service, and are responsive despite their busy schedule. I didn't always have the same vet every time I had an appointment, but they all seem to be on the same page when it comes to treatments. I am sure you can request to have the same vet each time you go though. I do find their services on the pricer side, although due to location, and amount of staff, that probably makes sense. Always double check that you approve everything they are doing before proceeding, as it adds up quickly. During COVID they meet with you in the foyer to discuss your pets file, rather than privately in a room. It's something they can improve, and I'm sure they will. Thank you for your years of service to our little fur-babe!

Some of the doctors are super nice here. Others were not thoughtful about the pets well being. Every vet I've been to (for the 20+ stray cats I've taken) weigh the animal to know what amount of anesthesia to administer. I asked the Dr to weigh the cat in the cage and subtract the weight after, since the cat was feral but was finally calm and still. But she told me she would weigh the cat after he was given the anesthetic. Maybe male cats are simple to operate, but she could have told me they just guess the weight before giving the anesthetic. I'm not familiar with this technique and she should have explained. Also, they gave me back the cage full of poo. They told me they take really good care here and would clean the poo up. I was hurt to find the exact same turd from the day before, when I picked him up.

This is a great clinic ! I had recently gotten a kitten and it had not eaten since the first day I got her (3 days). Knowing this was bad news I set up an emergency appointment the same day I called. I was suspecting parasites had weakened her. They created my file and took her in 4hours later. I loved the fact that they gave me a minimum and maximum price for the different procedures I could have followed, this made me feel less pressured and gave me more freedom of choice. In the end they gave her fluids to rehydrate her, dewormed her and force fed her to get some nutrients up in there. To my content on the way home I also noticed they had cut her nails! She didn’t seem stressed at all and started eating the same night. The kitten is all good now thanks to them. The staff and the doctor were all incredibly professional. Will definitely be staying with them. Lastly, the prices are the same as any other vet, I personally think they were good and investing in your pet is a must if they’re sick.

I have been going to the Monkland clinic since 2000, and can't imagine taking my cats anywhere else. Dre LeBlanc and her team have always made me (and, even more important, my cats) feel comforted, and I have the utmost trust in the care they provide. I've never once felt like the clinic puts money above the care of their patients, or felt rushed or as if I'm just a number. They've accommodated me on short notice more than once, and followed up by phone to ensure my cats were doing well. I couldn't hope to find another clinic with a higher standard of personalized care and commitment.

Never again. We were completely swindled. 350$ flushed down the drain. My dog had a little bit of blood in her urine so we went to the vet to have her checked out. She does some half-assed check-up of my dog (didn’t even notice the benign lump the size of a peach on the dogs neck) and right off the bat I’m told it’s likely cancer because of her age (she has no other symptoms). I work in the medical field, where we usually rule out the more treatable conditions before leaping to cancer so I was quite shocked by the insensitivity of the vet. I told her that, and to please not jump to that conclusion so hastily, but she said it couldn’t be ruled out. She urged us to put my dog through 1100$ of tests, most of them redundant, and kind of made me feel as if I didn’t love my dog when I explained to her that I couldn’t afford it. I felt totally judged when I held my position and asked her to only test for a UTI for now and reconsider if it came out negative, because that’s all I can afford. A few days later we get a call telling us it’s positive for a UTI, but (and I quote) THAT DOESNT MEAN SHE DOESNT HAVE CANCER JUST BECAUSE SHE DOESNT HAVE SYMPTOMS!!! I told her that in that regard, I might also be riddle with cancer and that it was a very unprofessional thing to say (again, I work in the medical field and I know what medical professionalism sounds like — just imagine what you would think of a doctor who would tell you have stomach cancer before considering a bug or food poisoning just because you complain about vomiting) but she said she was just being thorough and that we should also get her tested AGAIN after the antibiotic treatment was done. I dismissed her and finished the conversation quickly because I felt close to my boiling point. Well, she called us THREE MORE TIMES to guilt trip us into taking more tests. Sorry but I’m not dumb enough to fall for that and you just lost a client of 11 years. Shame on you. (And FYI when a bladder is cancerous the urine usually is salmon pink to red and the symptoms aren’t intermittent. At least that’s what it’s like in humans and a bladder works pretty much the same in most mammals, including dogs.)

Our experience with both Dr Maude Touret and the whole team at the clinic was exceptional. Our Pitbull was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2020. Dr Touret was able to provide us with treatment options, with regular checkups every 6 weeks. She was concise, empathetic and kind with his treatment. We've dealt with multiple veterinary clinics around the island but the Monkland clinic's facilities, kind staff and care of our pet was consistently the best experience for us!

I wish I could give 0 stars. DO NOT GO HERE. I have been to many different vets over the years, and this place is basically a scam. I was told the cost of what I wanted done, and I agree'd to it. After the procedure was half finished with, the price suddenly goes up an extra 100$ for no reason at all. I was told that I was lying to my face, and that nobody ever told me the first price. This has made me very irritated and frustrated, as I had a budget. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I'm a new client but all the staff, techs, and vets I've met so far have been extremely helpful and friendly. They all really seem to care about and love the animals that they treat. They've helped me work out treatment plans and steps that take expenses into account instead of pushing for the most expensive options from the start, and also stay in contact to check up on my animal's state and progress. I'm also delighted to support a vet clinic that is opposed to and does not perform declawing!

I have been a client of Clinique Veterinaire Monkland for many years. I have always had excellent and professional service. They just saw me through the life of my beautiful Labrador Retriever Palmer., He was almost 16 and they were there every step of the way. Throughout his life we were able to access the services of Osteopath, Acupuncture and mobile ultrasound right in the clinic along with regular veterinary care. The veterinarians and staff are always helpful and caring right up to the very end. They helped my dog leave in a very dignified way. I will be forever grateful.

Terrible vet assistant and vet...took my new puppy for his first vaccines. I came to the clinic in a fantastic mood and expecting to have a great experience. We were locked down and this was my first time out with my new puppy! The vet assistant did not explain my options properly and spent her time telling me that I needed to change everything I was doing with my puppy. I told her that she was making me feel uncomfortable and a little defensive. Incidentally, my puppy was perfect! Cute, eating great, energetic, plump, full shiny coat and healthy!! I should not have felt that way. She went to the back with my puppy and the next thing I know the vet is storming out and ordered me to follow her. I did and was confronted with her telling me that I made the tech cry. She was very upset because I told her she made me uncomfortable... Anyway, she continued to tell me that my puppy was half vaccinated now, because of my decision. My decision was led by the direction of her technician - Full vaccination was the same price, but I was told that one vaccine was for if I took the puppy in the woods. I told her I wouldn't be doing that and she scratched that one out...and the other was if I put the puppy in the kennel, I wasn't doing that, so she scratched that one out.... The vet explained that the vaccines included also protects the dog if he goes where squirrels/raccoons etc are and smell other dogs pee around the door, etc.(I did not think of that, only that I only wanted my puppy to have what he needs and nothing more or less) Now my puppy has to go to another clinic to get the other two vaccines and get properly assessed. I don't trust this visit at all... She also told me that I was a terrible person for making her technician cry - they were working through a pandemic. I have also worked through the pandemic, most of us are...does that give someone the right to make people feel uncomfortable? Can't we tell someone if we feel they have made us feel a kind of way? Just a bad experience and half the service I came for. Better vets in Montreal...it's a big city

I have been looking for a Veterinarian clinic like this one for many years. The staff are warm and friendly. They even make me feel as though I'm part of a family. I often stop in to visit when I'm walking my dog. On long walks I use the washroom and get water from the fountain. No one expect me to buy anything. Dr. LeBlanc is professional and I trust her judgement . At the moment, I have a dog and three cats. I know that Dr. LeBlanc has their best interests at heart. (This cannot be said of every vet. Believe me, I know.) She has been there at the hard times as well as the good. I owe Dr. LeBlanc and her staff a world of gratitude.
