Its has been very hard trying to diagnose my dog with what is wrong with her. I appreciate the help. This is my first time with a sick dog so lots of ups and downs.

We've been taking our dog Stanley here for years and all of the front desk staff, technicians and doctors are dedicated and they clearly believe in the work they do for the community - we gladly trust them with the special needs of our old dog UPDATE: we said goodbye to Stanley today and called to have Dr Robertson and Danielle come to our house to euthanize him Both were professional and compassionate, patient and caring and helped make a very hurtful process a little better Thank you both for helping our Stanley get to a better place

I am very impressed with the staff here. I brought my pooch in for a checkup and to get tips on cutting his nails and they mentioned he was overweight. Instead of pressuring me into buying some "medically approved" weight-loss food, they asked what kind of food I was feeding him and then recommended a daily amount for his diet.

Having a pet is expensive, I have compared prices. They are in the middle. Service wise they are always super awesome with my dogs. They treat them so amazing with so much love and respect, I feel confident they will have VIP treatment. They are open: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Saturdays 8am - 1pm. They follow Covid safety protocols, happy to see.

Very nice staff and caring atmosphere. However, when I came in to have my dog spayed after she'd turned two years old, their prices averaged 87% higher than the price list I had received two years earlier! When I asked for an explanation, and a reduction, they only stated that their prices change every 6 months and that that is what it was. No sympathy, no reduction. Guess they are just too popular. Not with me anymore! They also wanted to do a slight hernia fix which they had earlier said would be done free of charge with a spaying, only this time it would be another $80. And I didn't include this in the 87% increase. I don't trust these people. Also, the doctors are too chicken to come out and face a customer! All they do is hide behind their staff.

TLDR - Veterinarians at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital misdiagnosed our dog and missed a large heart tumor which was present in x-rays that they had performed. The vets' informal style contributed to lack of information and a worse outcome for our dog. We thought they had done a good job until it was too late. Detailed Experience ------ My family's experience with Tsawwassen Animal Hospital is a cautionary tale. When we initially took our dog in for an appointment he was suffering from a severe cough which would initially be diagnosed as Congestive Heart Failure and possibly kennel cough. This diagnosis was confirmed by a chest x-ray after the vet noticed that our dog had a heart murmur; she suggested that an ultrasound could shed some light on the disease' progression, but it was unlikely to change the prognosis. As a result of this advice, we declined the ultrasound and the vet provided us with medication to manage our dog's condition. At this point, I was quite satisfied with our dog's care at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital. Fast-forward a few weeks and our dog's condition had become noticeably worse. New symptoms, such as diarrhea and vomiting, had appeared and our dog's cough had become incessant. Despite repeated appointments to Tsawwassen Animal Hospital, the veterinarians never considered to re-evaluate their initial diagnosis. When asked directly if they thought our dog's Congestive Heart Failure was getting worse, they responded no. A few weeks later, our dog had a severe episode of coughing which indicated he was struggling to breath. I rushed him to a different animal hospital closer to my house (Cambie Village). Upon arrival, the veterinarian took new x-rays of our dog's chest and a blood sample. He quickly found a large mass on our dog's heart, suggesting that our dog had cancer. He wanted to examine the previous x-rays from Tsawwassen Animal Hospital and after some difficulty he was emailed a copy. He confirmed that the mass on our dog's heart had been present and visible on the original x-rays taken at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital. The implication of this should be quite obvious. The veterinarians at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital missed a significant tumor on x-rays that they themselves had performed. The misdiagnosis of our dog led to a worse outcome and quality of life in his final months, before we eventually were forced to put our dog down. At the root of the problem was a failure to consider our dog's declining condition holistically. Every symptom was treated individually; a worsening cough required more cough-suppressants, constant diarrhea led to antibiotics, and dehydration meant rehydration. Despite multiple appointments to Tsawwassen Animal Hospital, the vets never contended with the possibility that their initial diagnosis was lacking and that something else was contributing to our dog's condition. Compounding this was the impersonal nature of this hospital, as no member of our family was able to interact with the vets in-person. We were never able to personally judge the level of care and attention paid to our dog. Considering the outcome and the misdiagnosis, there was clearly some gap in the level of attention and care. I mean, how else does a professional make such a significant and obvious mistake? I understand that COVID-19 has added extra barriers to in-person interaction, but surely Tsawwassen Animal Hospital could have found an alternative that allowed for some face to face interaction while still ensuring safety from COVID-19. If you're wondering, the other animal hospital was able to. What worries me most, is that we believed our dog was receiving good care until it was too late. We had no way to know that he had been misdiagnosed until we visited a different animal hospital, a hospital which let us talk to the veterinarians in-person and showed us our dog's x-rays. To refuse to see owners in person is a choice all veterinarians are allowed to make, but it needs to be done in a way that demonstrates transparency and accountability. This was not our experience.

I've only had one appointment thus far and not during the before times so I can only speak from perhaps a more shallow experience. take it with a grain of salt. I took my new cat in for a vaccine and a health exam at the recommendation of the DCAS- they did his neutering. my phone appointment (from the car) with Dr. Robertson was very positive, she addressed my questions/concerns at length and I felt comfortable with the decisions I made regarding my cat's visit that day. his actual time indoors was about ten minutes. their pandemic operating procedure seemed smooth and efficient too. park, call in, chat with your vet, someone will come to your car to bring your pet to and from as well as anything you may be taking home. phone call to discuss the going ons of your pet's appointment + pay your bill and you should be good to go!

After 7 years and 4 different vets and countless different medications and the bills alone it took 1 visit with Dr. Wall and she had my dogs hair growing back and her eye and ear infections gone all by changing my dogs diet. I was told my dogs kidneys were failing, I was told she was going to have continual ear and eye infections and that she was going to have to be put on all these super expensive medications to save her. I am happy to report my dogs hair has grown back at a rate that's unbelievable (considering we tried for 7 years to get it to grow) shes happy and healthy and loves her new vet????

The vets at Tsawwassen Animal Hospital did not fully diagnose our dog's condition even after we repeatedly took him back as he was not getting better. We ended up taking our dog to a vet in Vancouver and this vet quickly and accurately provided us with a complete picture of our dog's health condition. Our visits at the clinic were impersonal as we were only allowed to communicate with the vet via. the phone and not accompany our pet into the clinic. I know it's Covid, but this is the not practise at other clinics. I will never bring a pet to the Tsawwassen Animal Hospital.

Amazing doctors and amazing staff. I had a very sick 13 year old dog in May of this year. We had already spent $1500 in tests to our former vet and he still didn't know what was wrong with her. He suggested euthanizing her without even knowing what was wrong with her. I sought a second opinion and took her to see Dr. Milner at the Tsawwassen Animal Hospital. Within 3 days she knew what was wrong with her. Unfortunately, she had a very aggressive form of cancer. When it was time to let her go, it was done it the most compassionate, and gentle way possible at this clinic. I am so grateful to Dr. Milner for figuring out what was wrong with my dog so that I could make an educated decision, and not wonder forever after if I had done the right thing. I have since transferred all of my pet files to their clinic and am happy to have them as vet to my beloved pets.

Highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Tina Gemeinhardt. My English bulldog has a lot of skin issues so needless to say we have been to our share of vets. This has been by far the most wonderful pet hospital. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming which helps my dog and I to be at ease- you can tell they genuinely care about what they do. Dr. Gemeinhardt took the time and patience to thoroughly explain the issues and came up with a detailed plan for my little piglet to get better. I am so grateful I have found this vet for my furry best friend :) :)

Wow what a difference this vet clinic to a previous one I went to. I ended up losing my elderly cat but they worked hard to make sure he had every opportunity to get better and were so compassionate. Chalk and cheese to a previous place we went to elsewhere in North Van a while ago!
