Scottsdale's staff are friendly and informative, their doctors are knowledgeable and patient, and the environment is clean and welcoming. I have now switched from my old animal hospital to Scottsdale because I was just so impressed with their service.

Covid procedures are to not allow anyone in the building. Their website says “No clients are permitted within the building unless otherwise authorized for sensitive cases such as saying goodbye to their pet during a euthanasia”. However, this was not the case. They instead advised we would “hand off” my dog at the side door and no one was allowed in during the process. We specifically called and they told me “you can say your goodbyes at the side door and then hand him off” I said “so no one can be in the room to hold him while he passes” and they said “no”. So basically we went elsewhere of course! Makes zero sense that I can get a meal in a restaurant and sit in a hairdressers chair but I can’t hold my baby of over 11 years for his last breath.

Was looking into vets as a new puppy owner, and was disappointed to find out that 1 owner will not be allowed especially with a new 8 week old puppy for his first vet appointment. Myself working in healthcare, I am the type of person that likes to see what is happening with my new addition to my family, especially when it is my first time going into a clinic. I haven't been able to build a relationship with the team nor meet the doctors, so they are strangers to my dog and myself. I suggested to a compromise to video call/facetime so I could look into the examination, and real-time ask questions/concerns, but Front desk said that compromise is not possible. After reading the college of Veterinarians of BC guidance policy for COVID, there is no word on restricting all client access to the appointments, and states that clients shouldn't enter if they have symptoms of COVID. It also states to limit client access, and use telemedicine where deemed appropriate. Spoke to the front desk, and were not very reassuring that all my questions/concerns will be addressed. Front desk said I should not be anxious because they are caring people, but after this experience, I believe they have gone against their mission in providing high quality care to patients and their families as stated on their website. The above CVBC guidelines did not match up with Scottsdale's policies. I was excited to consider this vet due to their high reviews, but ended up being disappointed.

It's so difficult trying to find an honest and trustworthy vet and car mechanic. I still need the mechanic but as far as the vet goes I'm in great shape. Dr O'Brien is an amazing vet who doesn't put pets through unnecessary testing and understands how difficult it can be to pay for medical services. Possibly the only veterinary clinic around that actually cares about your animals. No matter which Dr we make an appointment with they have always treated our pets as their own. They are thorough and caring, unlike many other vet clinics around that either don't care enough or are mistreating of your animal. Would definitely highly recommend to any animal owner, and I do so any time somebody asks for a recommended vet.

Been a long time customer of this vet, and it makes me sad to give them 1 star. Front desk staff makes you feel rushed, doesn't seem friendly and recently argued with me about the care of my pet. Had some tests done recently and they told us our pet had kidney failure, when we got a second opinion that was far from the truth. I personally have taken our pet to a different vet and I would advise anyone to do the same until they get back to what made them a great vet.

I used to travel quite a distance to Guilford animal hospital. The excellent Dr. there retired a few years ago. I decided to try Scottsdale and found the experience to be top notch. The Dr. and assistant couldn't have done a better job and very surprised to see the service performed for literally half of the price of Guilford. I highly recommend Scottsdale Veterinary!

I’ve been going to Scottsdale for about 15 years. I have always trusted the care my fur babies have received from the amazing vets. I mostly see Nicole Wensink and have relied on her advice for many years. Nicole is an amazing vet and I trust her completely. Nicole was not available recently to see our new puppy, so we saw Melissa Stephens. She is also wonderful and I felt very reassured when dealing with her. My only “complaint “ is that we still cannot go into the clinic with our pets. I am not sure why those that are double vaccinated cannot go in masked and be with our pets. I also highly recommend they put each vets general schedule on their website, so we can book with our regular vets more often. In saying this, I wouldn’t take my kids anywhere else and I love the care they receive.

I have been a client for over 25yrs. The staff treat me and my pets like their own family. Their care and compassion for my pets end of life experience, they explain it all, there no rushing, and we had to do this right in the middle of covid when they weren't allowing humans in the office. I was looking after my grandpuppy great dane of 13 yes both parents were out of town. They accommodated us when one of the pups parents was able to drive the 6 hours to get to the office. Their staff are amazing!

I cut my African grey Congo parrot's nail too short and she started bleeding. I did the usual methods to stop it with cornstarch and still kept bleeding. My usual bird vet was closed another one across from IHOP on the superstore refused to help at all. I came into Scottsdale and not only were they willing to help they calmed me down and fell in love with my 1 year old grey. They were amazing and Charlie even asked them for pets. I highly recommend their amazing staff and unbelievable vets!! Thank you so much I'm glad they got to meet my baby grey and she is a happy heathly parrot thanks to the love and care of the Scottsdale staff!

I've taken my dog here for over 10 years and I've never had a bad experience until recently. Dr. Armstrong, when she was there was an excellent and the most caring doctor I've met. She treated my dog when she was a puppy when she contracted the parvo virus. Sadly,she is semi retired and not at the clinic anymore. Dr. Wensink was another vet we see for our dog and she's excellent as well. But recently I saw a vet(Dr. Nanda) I had never met before and he was nice enough at the initial visit about my dog's new "limp". During this visit we found out my dog had a lump on her neck and we sent it for pathology and it came back as mast cell tumour. We needed to have it removed and I was quoted for the surgery. I was called the day of surgery and was asked if I would like to remove the other skin tags and do dental cleaning as my dog WAS ALREADY UNDER (ANAESTHETIC), I agreed to the procedure for the dental but refused the removal of skin tags as it would be purely aesthetics. But when I received the final invoice I was charge for more anaesthetic that I was not aware I was being charged for. I was NEVER informed during the phone call that my dog would NEED ADDITIONAL anesthetic to STAY UNDER IN ORDER TO DO THE DENTAL WORK. I've been back and forth with them for 2wks with no resolution for the additional charges. All I've gotten is just people passing the buck to other people who don't know what they're talking about and getting their stories mixed up about what the charges should and would have been and what it was for etc. The person that needs to talk to me is the doctor who provided the service and performed the surgery and not someone who works in the office who clearly doesn't know the details.

This is my first attendance since Covid19 arrived and the protocols in place are great and easy to work around. You have the option of being in person for your pet's examination providing you wear a mask and sanitize at the available station. If you don't participate your are contacted by phone by the doctor for a full update and opportunity to explain any concerns you have with regard to your pet and their health.

. Have always been extremely pleased with the care and staff. Have been dealing with Scottsdale for almost 18 years. Recently, I had to have my 17 year old furbaby put to rest. He was quite stressed as we were, not understanding what was going on and an assistant came in to pay the bill and push buying a ceramic paw print. Not impressed. When I picked up his ashes, everyone behind the counter just stared at me, not saying anything, making me feel like I had done something wrong and feel worse than I already did. No empathy or compassion whatsoever. Still have faith and trust that the vets are good at what they do.

We have a shitz zu/poodle 8 yrs old. They cleaned teeth and removed a few, her teeth are so white they look like new. Also did a hernia on her belly, which is healing perfectly. They'll check her in 2 wks then che ck again. They were very thorough with her issues, checking kidney too make sure all ok. They love all animals and treat them so good!! They are very organized and you can tell all staff work together as a team. Gave us lots of info for education and how to help us take the best care of our precious little girl Daisy May!! When my 4 month old puppy ate rat poison, we were sent to Scottsdale for the treatment. He was in hospital for 4 days, and we had to come back multiple times a week for 4 weeks after his initial stay. The staff at Scottsdale were so amazing, they worked tirelessly to ensure he had the best care. He never developed a fear of the vet, and he was absolutely ecstatic every time we walked in the door. They made a horrible and traumatic time in our lives manageable; not once did I worry he wasn't getting the absolute best treatment or care.

Called to get information on teeth cleaning for my dog. The girl I talked to was short and would not give me any kind of basic idea of costs at all just saying I needed to bring my dog in .I was not looking for a quote just a general idea of various costs. Would not go to this hospital just based on the rudeness of the receptionist. Many other places to spend money on my dogs teeth . Note to the hospital as I dont have a regular vet and would have had the potential to be a regular client. I would strongly recommend customer service training for your receptionist. If she is too busy to answer questions dont answer the phone.

There is no better veterinarian hospital in the lower mainland of BC. I'll start from.the beginning. I ended up at Scottsdale after having several negative experiences at other clinics in the Langley/Surrey area. Dr. O'Brien came highly recommended from a colleague and friend who happens to be a retired veterinarian herself. I see Dr. O'Brien and Dr. Stevens. I cannot say enough about their level of care, attention to detail, open mindedness, compassion, professionalism....there's never any question unanswered, there's never a feeling of being rushed out the door, the level of service provided is top notch. Just this past week, I rushed in for an emergency. Dr. Stevens had finished her shift 5 minutes after I called to say I was on my way. In rush hour traffic, it took nearly 30 minutes to get there but Dr. Stevens was still there. She waited, knowing I was coming. You see, the last few months have been hard and we've had many trips to Scottsdale. The fact that Dr. Stevens stayed, despite there being other doctors there who would have provided us care, speaks volumes about the integrity and level of compassion this doctor has. She was a familiar face, she knew my boy and the fact that she stayed for us brings tears to my eyes. There are plenty of other clinics close by but this one is worth the drive. Their support staff are always smiling, lending a hand and even a much needed hug. These fine folks care....if you want the best service, the best care for your animals, the support and compassion, this is the place to be. I don't know what I would have done had I not found them!!

This vet office is great have had animals for many years found the expertise with the doctors and staff very friendly and knowledgeable they are great with cats and dogs. Recently we had to put down our 17 year old cat, the staff and doctors were very sympathetic to our feelings and heart breaking as it was too lose our cat. We have now adopted 2 new kittens and we will drive all the way from Maple Ridge to have their first check up with the doctor's and staff at thid hospital. PS: very hard to cry with your mask on. lol
