I'm very thankful to Dr. Schild for saving Jr.'s life! He appears to have totally "turned the corner" after giving us all quite a scare and continues down the road to recovery! If the actual issue which caused his health setback in the first place could have been determined (so it can possibly be avoided in future), that would have obviously made the experience better, but we realize sometimes with animals, this is not always possible. ????

I have been a client here since 1997, when my dog was hit by a car. I have never felt the need to look for another vet. They feel the same way about my fur and feather babies as I do, and I never worry when they have to stay for any length of time. In the past I had very bad luck with vets, some I'm sure learned their anatomy off a butcher's chart. But this clinic and the people in it are the best. And my chickies agree.

I have been taking my rabbit (as a frequent flyer lol) here for the past 2 years or so after my previous regular vet was “too busy” when my rabbit was in an emergency. My fussy guy has never put up a fight to go here, and they treat him so well. All the techs and vets are so knowledgeable on rabbits that I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has a rabbit and looking for a rabbit-savvy vet! They are the best!

Unfortunately, Kennedy Heights has lost our business. We have been clients here for years and our last girl had to be put to sleep here….so the place has a place in our hearts. Sadly, they are putting ridiculous ‘curbside’ services in place, due to COVID. I’ve had enough with companies like this, virtue signalling, and feeling like they can give crappier service because of it. The receptionist actually lectured my wife on her beliefs, which was completely unprofessional. Really sad, but they have lost our business, forever.

It's been months since I last brought my bird into this clinic. My bird was twitching, they gave him something which made him even worse! Then they insisted on euthanizing my pet! I declined and brought my bird home and my dad, who's a doctor in India, took care of my bird and now he's as happy as can be. These guys are text book vets, and seem to have little to no experience. I don't know how effective their treatment is for dogs and other big animals but for birds they are not very helpful. Don't waste your time or money with these guys if you have small birds that need help.

I loved the care my cat had received when he contracted urine crystal's. They fixed him up and he has been great for the past 2 months. They describe the procedures in detail. Give you an estimate on how much it will cost. I found the cost reasonable compared to other vets. The veterinarian's were very knowledgeable and gave alot of compassion. They truly care. I will definatley be taking all my animals here.

I feel like they rip you off and try to grab money out of you any way they can. It's the only place where they said they couldn't trim my dog's nails because she was nervous. They wanted me to purchase pills for her to take to calm her down so the next time she comes she's more relaxed. Won't be going here again. They took advantage of the fact that it's COVID and I couldn't be there to witness this so called behaviour. Every other place I've been pre-covid or not, the vets have said she's such a good girl. I'd recommend trying other places.

I bring my ferrets here. We’ve always had treated very well here. I leave knowing what’s happening an if needed, what will be needed. I had to help one to the Rainbow Bridge here. They were so kind. Keichi had been with us seven of her nine years. I was devastated! They gave us the time we needed. They were just so kind! That is such an important thing when you are so sad. I sobbed and hoped for that one more thing. There just wasn’t. They were so gentle with her and good to us. I will continue to take my little ones there. I really recommend them!

They implement alot of social distancing measures, including phone consultation and e-transfer/phone payment. Humans aren't allowed in the store at this time. They were very thorough with their examination of my dog and checked for alot of issues with her health preemptively. In addition, they went over the cost breakdown with me so I could make an informed decision. They reviewed their results in great detail to me, providing a copy of her blood test and x-ray results for my own record. Staff seemed very helpful and kind towards my dog (she even left with a cute new bandana for being a good girl on her visit).

I wasn't totally happy letting baby (gecko) go in there by herself but over all the doctor was very sweet and the receptionist or nurse was very helpful and sweet too. Covid sucks, honestly what to do but the experience was safe.

Dr. Schild saw our beloved Budgie for the 2nd time in as many years. Through assessing and successfully treating our little girl's crop infection, in the past, to sadly telling us yesterday that she now had an abdominal tumour, with no hope of removing it successfully, Dr. Schild was compassionate, caring, and thorough with her explanations. Her staff is amazing, and they were so gentle with us as we said goodbye to our beautiful Peepers. We would not hesitate to recommend this amazing Avian Vet. Update: my frog is now completely healed and it’s all thanks to your kindness and attentive care. Thank you Dr. Tailor for taking your healing hands and snatching my pacman frog from the grips of death! Right before I found Kennedy Heights Animal Hospital, I had just had a very poor experience with a couple other vets. I came in expecting similar treatment but was instead blown away by the way the team at THIS clinic treated my frog as though she was as important as any cat or dog since not everyone has appreciation for scaly/ slimy pets, especially those that are known to be aggressive and have limited capacity for emotions. They recognized the urgency of the situation when I explained that my frog had been sick for some time because I was struggling to find a vet who could help me. I really feel they went above and beyond on many occasions to save her! If you look at the pictures you can see how swollen and bright red she was at the height of her bacterial infection and compare it to how improved her colour and skin texture is now after 2 months of treatment. She is not fully recovered just yet but I am so happy with how she has gone from being limp and unresponsive and exhausted from having froggy seizures to behaving almost completely normal. Thank you for granting us this amazing second chance at life together. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants compassionate care for their exotic animals. Totally worth the drive if you are like me and do not live in the area.

When I expressed concern about how to give him Tuki his meds, they actually made a video of Dr. Upjohn doing the procedure. They sent it to me, and it made things easier. That is good service.

Came to this vet when my usual vet didn't have any appointment spots available, and made a permanent move when my usual vet (20+ years) retired. Have never regretted the decision. They're very caring when dealing with the animals, and there has never been any confusion about appointments, medication or anything else. They have followed up when they said they would, and have never left me in the lurch for information.

Had an emergency with my dog today - got here randomly because it was the closest one and the vet was already there. The staff and the vet took care of my dog quickly, efficiently and professionally. All while explaining what is being done and getting my approval before making further tests. This is a fantastic hospital, got an x-Ray right there and they performed the blood test right there too. I will de finely be coming back for regular shots as well as this was a horrifying experience for me but the staff and the vet were so comforting, calm and professional that I feel confident recommending this place to any other pet owner. 5 stars indeed.

My five month old Rex Rabbit severely injured his jaw. After calling seven different practices, Kennedy Heights found an emergent spot for him and Dr. Ciwko assessed him. Hats off to her, she was clear, concise and not afraid to admit she if didn't know something. She reached out to different resources to make sure she was providing my animal the best care possible. The staff were all courteous, patient, quick to respond and more than kind. Despite going through a major trauma, this team's care has ensured a quick recovery for my rabbit and three days later he is running around and eating normally again. We have numerous appointments lined up as he recovers and we look forward to the amazing care these guys provide. It's nice to know that there's a team of people dedicated to his recovery.

After a going through a few Vets for my Bunny and having not so great experiances. The first time I went there I was nervous, until someone else brought their bunny there, so right away that was a good sign. Veterinarian Dr Schild, Alice, Natalie, Amanda and some of the other staff I dont remember the names of are all super amazing, friendly, pet loving people. They all truly care about your animal. When Dr Schilds and the Specialist Dr Ford both say my bunny for at different times, they kissed and baby talked with my bunny and made sure she was okay during the tests♡. And I thought that was the cutest thing ever. Kennedy Heights is definatly a great place to bring a pet bunny, because they are very knowledgeable and they did a really good job with my bunny's spay. Plus they really love bunnies too♡ I would highly recomend to bring your bunny and pets here.???? 5+ Stars ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I didnt get a chance to even see the doctor. I made an appointment, they took my money right away, and then I was told at the day of my appointment that there is no appointment. Very unprofessional, they took my money and didnt even make the appointment and then I was told I could be squeezed in between appointments. If I'm paying full price I want my green cheek to receive the quality of care I have paid for and not just see the doctor in the hallway for 2 minutes. It was over 80$ for annual checkup. Glad I didnt drag my poor baby over there for nothing.

I made an appointment for birds, the staff was friendly to make a file about my bird. And after that, I was the first visiting customer that I had to pay the full price to make an appointment. So I was planning to send a transfer, however, they suddenly called back and it is not available for birds to make an appointment on the date I asked. Okay, I can understand that part however, after few days they kept asked me to pay if not they will gonna cancel the appointment. What is happening their working system is so weird? They said they cannot make an appointment for birds so I do not need to send money to make an appointment. And I told about it and they kept saying they will cancel the appointment if I do not send the deposit. It was waste of time and it's really hard to recognize what is going in their working system. Need to improve and clarify the customer’s profile. So poor service to birds.

well we still have hedgie. after he was supposed to be put to sleep as they told me on the phone just over $200 when we get there they tried to charge $400 then said was the wrong size urm and put it to $300.... i sat on the phone with them for over 1/2 hour asking all these questions 2 days ago.... kennedy heights animal and bird hospital are scammers !!! This was after they told me my kids Could be in the exam room when we get there they said that cant b/c there are 4 kids, which i had told them ahead of time 4 young kids....we have 5 pets, 3 of which are exotics that we will now be taking eles where!!!

When my baby Bearded Dragons were in need of medical help nearly two years ago, all the reptile-specific vets in the area (of which there are few) told us they had no time, with one refusing to see us outright on any date because they weren't "taking any new patients," even though this would be a non-recurring medical emergency. Dr. Schilds and the staff at Kennedy Heights took my pets in and did everything they could, despite not being reptile-specific, going so far as to study after-hours to help. I've been coming back ever since for my reptile checkups and have been very satisfied with the level of care given to my favourite little scaled babies, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I brought my ferret in to see Dr. Schild when my regular vet was unavailable. His illness came on very suddenly and they had no problem fitting me in with absolutely no notice on a Saturday. Dr. Schild was beyond amazing. She was very clear and informative during the exam, but also very sensitive and empathetic towards me when giving me the bad news that he likely wouldn't make it. I could tell right away that she truly cared about my boy, and about me as well. She even let me cry on her shoulder like she would a friend or a family member even though we had just meant, which is exactly what I needed during that difficult time. I also want to commend her support staff, as they were extremely kind and attentive towards me while I waited. They offered me coffee or water, and made sure I had everything I needed. They were also very prompt in getting not only their records but my previous vet's records faxed to the emergency clinic when he needed to be transferred there, so there was no delay in being seen when I arrived. Unfortunately my boy didn't make it, but Dr. Schild and her staff made all the difference in the world on his final day, and I will most definitely be bringing my other ferret there in the future.

My beautiful little baby blue Green Iguana leaped from my shoulder at 4-5 months of age, trying to get back to the safety of his basking area, and didn't quite make it. He nearly tore out a claw from his hind leg sliding down the side of his wooden cage. He was bleeding pretty good and the claw was dangling , so I took him to Kennedy Heights where they amputated the claw and cauterized with silver oxide (if I remember right). That was last winter, today the very same claw is growing back, which is unusual and very satisfying. Few Iguanas make it to adulthood with all their claws and toes, but Avocado just might have a chance.

From the start, the responsiveness and care provided by the staff and Dr. Ciwko has been such a wonderful experience. This was the first time our bunny had to get medical care and we were so grateful we were able to have her seen right away. About a week ago I panicked about my budgie being sick and decided to take her to the vet. I had to decide between going to Kennedy heights or King George. While King George appeared to be more in my price range, I decided on going to Kennedy Heights, and I'm really happy I did! They seemed more focused on birds there than King George, and treated my feathered baby with so much care, like taking breaks so she could calm down and handling her carefully, despite her holding the world record for wiggliest bird. And they treated me, the panicked bird owner, with equal care! They were never pushy and I never got the impression that they just wanted my money, and were super patient with me when I took ages to decide if I wanted to go ahead with the test I got done. When I called to make an appointment they were helpful and ready to take me in that day, and have called back twice asking if the medication is going well and saying I can call any time if I have any questions. Just great people! If I had one complaint it would be how expensive it is (I spent around ten times as much on the physical exam/test/medicine than I did when I bought my bird!), but I can't complain that much as I believe I got my money's worth with such a caring place!

Been coming here since late 2011 for my rats. I moved a few years ago and was not able to use their services during that time, however my most recent visit was very pleasant. The new doctor is great, very caring and compassionate. She didn't flip my rat around like a toy to check her like I've had other vets do; Instead, she was patient and calm and held her gently during the exam. Definitely someone I will trust for all my pets' future medical needs!

The best place to take your furry family members. Dr Schild and Dr Doslov are amazing veterinarians who really know their stuff and care about the patients they see! The staff is wonderful and very knowledgable about treatments, medications & food recommendations. They will NEVER upsell you for the sake of generating revenue. This animal hospital is one of the best, I speak from personal experience as I have taken my dog here for exams and treatments. Give them a call or drop in for a meet & greet. The new renovations really have improved and changed the space dramatically as well. Highly recommended!!!

I wanted a second opinion on a possible medical issue my lovebird had. After calling several avian veterinarians and being told my bird could not be seen, Kennedy Heights was very happy to book us in for an appointment in a very timely fashion. One week apart we needed to bring two different Degus in for care. Due to no exotic vets available over the long weekend (at Kennedy Heights and elsewhere), one became too ill and unfortunately passed away at the hospital. The other Degu was less serious and is still receiving treatment and improving. Due to COVID it is hard to give a thorough assessment of Kennedy Heights without having actually been inside the hospital to witness the interaction with our pets. What I can say is that we are happy with the detailed communication we received, the time spent communicating with us and the care our pets received. We are THRILLED Kennedy Heights have exotic vets, and more than one exotic vet!!!! I would like to see more of an effort to accommodate emergency appointments (at all animal hospitals), when it appears the animal is in a life and death state. Waiting an extra day and hours can make a difference whether the animal lives or dies, especially smaller, exotic animals. I would definitely recommend Kennedy Heights Animal and Bird Hospital.

They need to do more research on what kind of care they are giving to people's animals, I brought my bearded dragon there and the treatment they gave him actually made things worse and then ended up killing him, and when confronted about it they didn't seem to really care and the vet kept looking at the floor instead of me, I won't be bringing another one of my animals back to this vet, highly recommend that if you have reptiles or exotic animals you find a different vet that actually does some research on these animals instead of bringing them here, I was just reading alot of other reviews on this vet office, they seem to do okay with cats and dogs, but other exotics they really seem to lack experience, maybe they should just stick with dogs and cats

August 24th 2020. we brought our conure in for xrays to try and find a cause of her sneezing/respiratory issue. Later that day we get a phone call explaining that they had broken her wing and that they would like us to transport her to night owl bird hospital as they were better able to deal with the injuries caused by kennedy heights (from delta to west Broadway in rush hour with an injured bird fresh out of anesthesia!) Our bird DIED during transport. Highly recommend that you do not take your bird there for care...we are devastated.

Brought my sick bird in last month to see a doctor as she appeared to be ill. She saw Dr. Doslov, someone who didnt appear to have the knowledge to assess a sick budgie. She started off by telling me my bird looked normal during her physical examination. Later she put the bird back in her cage and started recommending all sorts of pricy examinations and medication. At this point she started telling me that the bird may be distressed and possibly suffering from head trauma. I was confused as the details of the medication for my budgie begun being discussed (as I was just told my bird appeared normal). She also recommended some tests that would potentially determine if anything else was wrong with my bird but since the doctor seemed super confident in the medications I opted out of the additional $300 worth of tests (which would take a few days to process aswell). The clinic would be closed sunday and the results wouldn't be in till monday. At this point I left the clinic slightly less worried that the budgie would be okay as the doctor didn't refer us to the ER. Well, I was wrong...my budgie died 2 days after being assessed by Dr. Doslov. Not only was I furious to know that this doctor not only incorrectly assessed the severity of my birds illness, but a week later I was also promised a call back from the manager so I could further discuss my experience...a month later that phone call is yet to come. For those who plan on ever taking your birds here, I would advise to strongly consider other specialty avian vets as this place definitely didn't seem to have the appropriate resources .

This is my first time having a kitten and it has been over 8 years since I have had a pet. Kennedy Heights cared for all 3 of my pekingeses (2 senior adoptees) until their final parting. Always with love and care. Fast forward 8 years, and i have once again brought the newest child to them. Dr Schild and Tyler were great, my biggest concern with any new pet is to ensure first visit and shots are not tramatic, my little guy (kitten) did not even flinch or notice the vaccine occurred!!! Great visit! Would I recommend them, of course and I Have!

I had a really good experience with Kennedy Heights. We were really worried when our guinea pig wasn't doing well. We called a couple places but they either do not look at guinea pigs, or don't have a doctor to look at her. Someone referred us to Kennedy Heights. Staff members were very nice and booked us in on the same day I called. Dr. Taylor was very professional. He examined her and gave us a detailed report and made recommendations. He called us a couple days later to go through the lab result with us. Highly highly recommend their service for your loved ones.

A millions stars if possible. I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic! After looking for a good family vet for years, I’m proudly announcing that I’ve found THE ONE and I’ll never take any of my boys elsewhere! I have been fully impressed by them since my first appointment with them. At the time one of my boys had FLUTD and after being treated at an emergency vet clinic I booked him in at Kennedy Heights for a recheck. Dr. Tailor made sure to go through every possible thing in my household that could potentially cause stress (and therefore increase risks of blockage again), and offered suggestions and advice. A few days later I thought the same boy was getting reblocked, so I called them in panic. Despite they had been fully booked that day, they understood that blockage could be life threatening so they made it possible for me to bring him in for a recheck. They even called me back the moment they were sure that there would be no blockage, just so that I wouldn’t be so worried! I understand that a vet clinic is also a business, and many vet clinics operate with a focus that’s more on the business side, rather than the caring of the animals. I definitely have some bad experiences because of that, and my boys have come out of a vet place terrified and traumatized before. Kennedy Heights is different- they put their patients first, and they provide best quality patient care one pet parent can ever reasonably expect and imagine. Even though due to covid, sometimes I cannot go in with my cats, I still have complete peace of mind leaving my boys alone with them, because I KNOW they’re being treated as if they were the staff member’s own furry companion. To be able to treat the illness for the animals is one thing, but it’s a whole different level for them to treat the animals in such a caring way. I’ve had vet assistants who lied to me about giving my cats meds because it would be extra work with no extra pay for them, so I know how much of a rare find Kennedy Heights is when they sent me two whole types and printed out pages of home care instructions with coloured photos attached. Best vet clinic ever. They are the reasons why my cats can live long and pawspurr.

My poor girl got hit by a car. They took her in right away and gave her the care she needed. My dog has bad anxiety as it is and the staff made sure to keep her happy and as calm as possible. I highly recommend this vet! I came here to seek a second opinion on what I was told by my regular vet was an eye infection in my rabbits eye. My regular vet wanted to remove his eye but I just didn't feel right about it. Turns out he wrongly diagnosed my Rabbit. The vet at Kennedy Heights went above and beyond to figure out what was going on with my rabbits eye. She did a test my regular vet didn't even give me as an option. Turns out he hit his eye and it was never an infection but trauma to they eye. He wont have to lose his eye!!! We are treating the scratches then he will go to a second treatment to heal his eye. I am beyond happy with this vet and I drive 30 min out of my way just to take my little bunny Tank here. 10/10 would recommend! Keep being amazing Kennedy Heights!

Take your pet anywhere but here. They make way too many mistakes and for some reason my negative reviews keep being deleted! I will keep posting to let people know how terrible this clinic is. Terrible hospital. I wrote a bad review here last year, but they keep deleting it. The comment they deleted was...took my dog in because he was limping. I told Dr. shields that it was the left leg, she had the vet tech X-ray the right leg. *shake my head* had to bring my dog in again and had to put him through a stressful X-ray again, so they could X-ray the correct leg. Sheeh. A year before the I took my dog in for annual shots. They gave him his rabies shot, asked me to come in a few months later for another shot, after I brought him home I find out they gave him another rabies shot. 2 rabies shots in one year. When I confronted them and told them they screwed up they said that the next time I bring my dog in for annual shots I won't have to pay for the rabies shot. They put my dog through so much unnecessary stress. If they read his file properly they wouldn't make so many mistakes. Don't take your pets here. They make way too many mistakes.

My bearded dragon wasn't acting normal, so I took him here and he was a bundle of joy when he came home after his treatment. After not eating for a week, he finally ate. He was running all around and cuddling again. The staff was so sweet and took really good care of my lizard. Their COVID protocols are very safe, and the doctor was very nice and helpful. Took my rabbit here a few weeks ago, he was suffering from some pretty bad tummy issues. Got an appointment the same day I called in. No wait time when we got there, they gave him a thorough check and gave him a few shots and some take home medication. We were there past closing time, so thank you to the staff for all your help! My little man has made a full recovery. Reccomend this clinic if you have small or exotic pets. I used to take my pet mice here a few years ago lol.

We brought our young budgie (about 7 months old) to this vet because he was visibly sick. He wouldn't eat very often, stopped singing, was always puffed up with his head coiled in his body, stood in a corner, and when we let him out of the cage he would be very weak and lost balance when flying. The vet said that he had no symptoms of a sick bird, although he looked sick. He just gave me a large spectrum antibiotic to treat him at home. We brought him three times and received the same replies. No actual help provided. I am very dissapointed as our budgie passed away shortly after the third visit, and we didn't even know the cause of it. Therefore, if you have a bird, I do not recommended coming here.

I have a 11yr old chihuahua Ricki Bobbie, He has been in care of this hospital over the past two years. it started as mostly dental care, but now as Ricki has aged he is a heart patient which is VERY critical. I have NOTHING bad to say about this place, we adore the staff, doctors and other clients!. Doctor Tailor is THE best doctor I have ever met since adopting Ricki in 2015. Ricki adores him and never has ever had to be muzzled during his routine check ups on his heart, such as Xray viewings, blood work, and exams which I am so happy to see my fur baby NOT stressed. Another perk of this clinic is booking appointments!!! they will always get you in if you book in a appropriate manner without stressing about time slots since they are open during reasonable times. The desk ladies are sweet, caring, and understanding. Lisa (red hair) in particular shows so much empathy towards the patients and and I always ask to speak with her when I call due to her loving Ricki and knowing his case by heart!!!! she will always even have both his meds filled before I even call !!! thank you Lisa, and Dr Tailor for providing the best care possible

EDIT: Second time bringing Lewis in for a haircut and will never go anywhere else! Lisa (i hope that was her name) took just the best care of him! Not only did he get the best haircut he's ever had, she kept him so happy! Normally you can hear his shrill guineapig screams the whole time but not with her! In and out in 10 mins! Even had him purring on the drive home! If you need your guineapig looked after right ask for her! First time bringing my guineapig here and we left very happy! Got in right on time, staff were all fantastic. Every step was thoroughly explained and communicated. Will be seeing myself and Lewis again for his next appointment!
