I love this vet and her staff! So welcoming and very friendly. Found this place when my cat became very lethargic after having kittens. Took her in and she was there for about 7 days with a high fever due to mastitis and was treated intravenously with antibiotics. The day she was to come home she had a massive cyst burst, which was the source of the infection that had been hiding behind the breast tissue. Had she not been treated, she would have died. Dr. Allen was so kind and personally called me everyday with a status update. The personal level of service is UNMATCHED by a fancy, multi-doctor vet office. The level of care, attention and love our fur-babies receive by Dr. Allen and her staff is unmatched by any vet I have been to since I was a child. Dr. Allen and her office reminds me of the small town vet I grew up with back home in central Florida; he was the only vet around in our small town and everyone loved and respected him. Thank you Dr. Allen, and staff, for your level of love and respect of animals and their people.

Went in for a tooth extraction, my cat (10 years old) was experiencing some pain/discomfort. They referred me to a specialist. The specialist quoted me at $1500-$1800 to fix my cat’s tooth resorption. I called back to Dawson Forest to set up bloodwork before the surgery. When I called they said it would be around $375. The specialist told me to expect to pay $200-$250 for bloodwork, so I was a bit taken back. I asked if I could spread out the payment over two weeks, since I had just paid $250 on Friday, three days prior, and would be spending $1500-$1800 out of pocket for the specialist and now another $375. They said no, they don’t do “payment plans.” I was pretty emotional, as I had just spent $7,000 this month after being displaced by my landlord. They told me to apply for credit. Not everyone can get approved for credit, especially in a pandemic, and in a horrible housing crisis. I called a few other offices to get quotes and sure enough I found the blood tests that I needed at $200 after tax. My problem isn’t with the fact that they are even so much more expensive, price is subjective. I understand my situation is not their problem nor their pricing model’s. It was the lack of empathy that I was frustrated with. When I asked to spread out the payments over two weeks (half at time of service, other half after my check the following week) she acted offended. Not everyone has $2000 in cash lying around. I spoke to a few people in the area, and they referred me to a few places that not only do payment plans but were empathetic to my situation and even worked with me on prices. If you do not have financial limitations I am sure they will provide valuable service. If you need for prices to be a bit more competitive and an empathetic staff that will work with you on paying for the care for your animal, I would shop around.

Our 12 year old Lab woke up in the middle of the night extremely distressed, confused, heavy panting, could not stand up. This facility cleared the way to help us early that Saturday morning. Adjusted their schedule to accommodate our emergency situation. Changed our dogs medicine and she is doing really really well a few days later. Followed up with a phone call to check on us!

I brought my puppy here because the Vet we see regularly could not fit us in. I went based off of the amazing reviews and we were very impressed. My puppy broke his leg, and they immediately got us in within a few hours. Dr. Allen was very compassionate and understanding. The entire staff loved on our puppy and continued to throughout his visits. They were always available to answer our questions, and never hesitated to help us with anything that we needed. Dr. Allen referred us to a surgeon because our puppy wasn’t healing the way he was supposed to, and she was very honest about what’s ahead for us and our little guy. I highly recommend this Vet. We recently added a new furbaby to our family a female husky puppy we have been with Dawson Forest for years we had 2 before our puppy pass and the compassion we were shown was amazing the doctor and her staff were stellar. If you love your furbabies and want the best care for them then you owe it to them to take them to Dawson Forest...they will make sure they receive the best care. When I moved to Dawson county I needed a vet for my fur baby. I gave Dawson Forest Animal Hospital a try since they were close to my home. 18 years and 8 fur babies later (not all still with us) we are still trusting their care to Dr. Allen and her staff. They are always kind to the pets and treat them as if they are their own. We have even had a few odd health issues that Dr. Allen was successful in diagnosing and treating. She knows her stuff and that impresses me. Highly recommend.

So glad to have found a very knowledgeable vet and friendly staff for my peke who has congestive heart failure and has been blind since birth. Not to mention a severe allergy problem with insane scratching AND eye infection. AND she will bite you when she doesn't feel good! My peke has received excellent care and I am thankful to be able to trust dr. Allen with her. Due to the fact, she can get grumpy and snap and bite at you when she doesn't feel good, I was afraid to ever take her to a groomer. But on our 1st visit, the groomer charmed my peke with her calm and gentle manner and next thing I know, she was carrying her around like a baby. And now she has had her 1st grooming!

I have had many vets for a variety of different dogs, cats, etc over the years in different states. BUT this is the best vet clinic ever. When my puppy vomited some "lunch," I called just to check in. AND the doctor called right back and had me come in. And has checked on her condition the next day. When I had to say goodbye to my older dogs, she stayed right with them and made them comfortable. The staff are all amazing and caring and know my animals by name. I wouldn't trust my animals to anyone else

Dr Allen is absolutely an animal lover! She is so great with my Amos (cheasapeake) that Amos always gets excited when we go there. I always feel safe boarding my Amos when I am out of town too. Dr. Allen has video cameras everywhere and if Amos does get sick I know there is a Vet right there. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help. I could go on and on... Take your dog in and you will see what I am talking about!
