However, today, we decided to find another Veterinarian as we can no longer accept the uncaring and condescending behaviour of one employee. All employees should endeavour to reflect the values of the company they work for, especially those who are in customer-facing positions. Second time i tried it was normal price and they exceeded all expectations with professional and prompt services and addressed all my dogs needs as best was available to them. I haven't had a need to go to a very very often, but these guys bend over backwards for your pet. Our cat was going through urinary thing and they asked to keep her overnight to collect a sample, when I told them money was a little tight, they handed me the stuff to take the sample and only charged me for the analysis and medication.

I have been going to Van Isle since they opened over 20 years ago. I have taken many pets over those years and still to this day. The staff from the receptionists and vets are beyond amazing, friendly, caring and compassionate.

There are no adequate words for how grateful I am to Van Isle Veterinary Hospital. My little Yorkie got injured on Friday afternoon of the May long weekend. I phoned every vet in the Parksville Qualicum area without success of getting an appointment. Van Isle Vet fit us in thankfully. Our little Yorkie received loving care and compassion from Dr. Kelsey Cunningham and staff. Because of Covid 19 protocol, we had to communicate by phone and parking lot. Thank you so much Dr Cunningham for the helpful phone call and meeting you in the parking lot. I also want to add that the final bill was very reasonable.Love from Keelie and his family!

I am no longer bringing my puppy to Van Isle Veterinary Hospital.They refused to see my puppy the last (3) times I’ve brought him in for his 3rd shot and needed medication for conjunctivitis.Hes 7.5 months old now and they still refused to give him the medical attention he so desperately needs.Today he had an appointment at 4pm and the front desk called me to cancel his appointment-We are done supporting Van Isle Vetrinary Hospital to say the least.The young girls that helped Omen in the past we’re friendly and caring,front desk people,not so much.Good luck treating your customers the way you do!!!I will find a more caring Animal Hospital,that actually cares about the animals health over money or petty issues.Please take down any existing pictures of Omen off your websites-thanx

A good vet office which offers a variety of veterinarians to choose from. My dog is a rescue, and hates going to the vet and the groomer. BUT! van isle vet has done a great job of providing kind and gentle veterinary care to my not-so-easy dog. It takes 3 people to trim my dogs nails because he hates it so much a and they do a great job every time. My only reason for not voting 5 stars is because van isle vet gets extremely busy sometimes and it can take a little longer to get in/get ahold of them than at your typical smaller vet hospital.

I have only been here once but received the most friendly and professional service. The staff are excellent, very thorough and knowledgeable. I had an emergency with my cat, called in the morning and got him in within the hour. He was well looked after for the afternoon and came home a lot happier. I have received check up calls to make sure everything is still good. Thank you to everyone for the care and helpfulness. I have never been to such a beautiful office that didn't smell like a vet's office, and it looks more like a dental office. With that being said, the prices are very fair and reasonable. Great place for pets of all size!

We have been committed clients of Van Isle Veterinary since arriving in the Comox Valley early in 2017. We currently have a neutered male 2 year old ginger tabby Manx cat, and an 8 year old long coat spayed Shiba Inu. This visit was about a three week limp on her right hind leg following a misstep while out in the nearby forest. As always, when we got there for our appointment, we were greeted pleasantly by staff as soon as we arrived, and invited to sit in the waiting area. Suki is calm and relaxed there: pretty unusual for a dog with an injury waiting in a veterinary clinic. Dr. de Winters was great! She went over Suki from nose to tail, and discussed what she found, answering all my questions, and outlining options for me to consider in her care. When we left, I felt confident we were on the right track, and know that if anything changes, we can return anytime for further assessment and care. They even stay open on weekends and do their own Emergency care, there, so we have the continuity of care when it is so essential. We LOVE this veterinary service! Absolutely 5 Stars!

I've been dealing with numerous Veterinary Clinics the past 30 years due to my passionate need to assist all animal species domestic and wild when in need. Big or small I do what's necessary law abiding or not. During an 8 week work sabbatical from home my Great Dane "Faith" contracted kennel cough in the worst and furiously aggressively fast way. I was at their office at 8:00 am and directed to their beautiful, clean barn examination building, where my pup was assessed, treated and completed in 15 minutes, in my truck so no other's would have to suffer as she was. They didn't know me, I wasn't a client, and that day they had a line up of scheduled surgeries, yet they took the 15 minutes to help so my pup didn't have to suffer or get worse for having to wait. The invoice was ridiculously low and the efficiency..... professionalism and easy going caring treatment from the dedicated yet personable staff and Veterinarian left me with a sense of awe and renewed faith in those that choose to help the innocent sentient souls we call pets and family. It was obviouse that the Van Isle Vetrinary hospital and the caring individuals that are the heart that make it the haven it quite obviously is, are there for their patients and not the fiscal realities. My simple thank you to the staff for their efficiency, expediency and good natured attitude seems small. The veterinarian Dr. Vasile Dzsurdzsa is a breath of fresh air in an industry that has become stale and regimented. A thousand thank you's and my eternal gratitude for your help with Faith. Huge shout out to Van Isle for being so accommodating, we had an issue with a dog getting scratched by ours at the dog park, the owner was trying to get us to pay them $500.00 saying that's what the vet charged him, I was able to find out the vet and contact these guys and pay the $83.00 bill directly to them and have them give me a receipt and reimburse the owners. I spoke with Amanda and she was really kind and understanding about the entire situation and was able to email me the bill within the hour. I really appreciated being able to deal with the bill directly with the vet it made things a lot better for us.

A couple of nights ago we noticed our baby was having issues with her bum and skin , called around a few vets and no one would take her in even though it was very important for her to be seen . Excellent, warm hearted, helpful front desk assistants. Plus it is staffed with equally as nice, dedicated & insightful Veterinarians. Everyone on staff here, do their best to keep the patients calm, happy, with a hopefully healthy outcomes. The folks here are also do are gentle & sympathetic with the two animals. This clinic has a spacious, comfortable, rather luxurious front waiting room. I find it to be a relaxing atmosphere, which may help our furry friends feel more at ease in what can be a stressful situation for them. The clinic is well stocked with veterinary supplies. But...the best is that IF the situation requires creative financing, they can be negotiable on payments. They do not turn away clientele that are in need. My favorite part of the visits is the fish tank, beautiful aquarium with some unique fish. One in particular was a fish that sadly, recently passed away - this particularly cute fish seemed as interested in the clientele as they were in the fish. Fortunately they have replaced it with a pretty golden fish that seems to have a similar character to it's predecessor.

I've been taking Muffin to Van Isle Vet since 2014, and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. Just today I took her for her last ever visit for end of life care. Dr. Muzzin and the staff were very caring, empathic and professional, and the facilities are comfortable and private. The experience is not rushed, and they provide you a lot of support in such a time. For a small cat, the process was very affordable which removes much of the stress from the process. I can't thank these people enough for what they do and the passion and care they put inot their serrvice.

My boy had nerve damage in his back leg after some complications at another vet clinic during surgery. We decided to see Amy at Van Isle a choice I will always be so happy I made! She worked with him once a week for a couple months it was amazing to see the care and passion for what she does! My boy was always so excited to be greeted by her when she came out to get us! She was so hands on with everything showing me exactly what we could do at home to get him back to himself and giving me so much knowledge along the way answering every question I had! She genuinely cared and it was such a great feeling to bring him to someone who celebrated each step quite literally along the way with us! Thank you Amy and Van Isle for everything you have done for us and the amazing love and care you give to my boy!

We have been customers with Van Isle Vet clinic since we moved out to the island 2 1/2 years ago and brought all of our three dogs to them. We thought they were a great vet to have right up until today, when we were held up in a traffic accident and arrived 10 minutes late to our appointment for our puppy to have her last set of vaccinations. Even though we’ve always have had to wait 20 to 30 min to be seen by the vets in the past, because we were 10 minutes late, we were turned away and made to book another appointment. We were extremely disappointed as we’ve been loyal customers from the beginning. However, after today, that’s all changed and we were able to have our little puppy be seen by a different veterinary practice.

We have been dealing with Van Isle Vet for over 13 years. The facility is amazing and they are open many nights until 8 pm, which is great for setting up appointments after work. Our latest visit was with Lauren Bessey. She was very thorough with her complimentary dental check and explained the costs in detail before we proceeded with the cleaning and extractions. The clinic called the next day to follow up and ensure our sweet little dog was doing fine. Dr Bessey certainly has a great passion for her work and is extremely knowledgeable. We highly recommend the clinic as the front line staff are caring and friendly.

November 15th we had our dog Hudson euthanized. Dr Davenport & Amy (Hudson's rehab physio/massage therapist) came to our home. They both were professional, gentle & caring allowing Hudson at his own speed to have a dignified, peaceful & humane cease to life. Although an upsetting time for us their caring attitude with Hudson was less stressful for him & ourselves for which we are truly grateful. Thank you Dr. D. & Amy.

So My expierance is a huge success that puts my mind at total ease. It goes like this: my regular Vet could not get my dog in for an examination and xray of her tail so I called a few other vets and Van island got her in the next morning, I had a quote from our regular vet for a service and the cost was quoated at 700-900 dollars. Van isl did it for an extra 50 dollars, my mind was blown... I had a few concerns regarding my dogs health that I had mentioned while the examination was taking place, not only did they xray my dogs tail, cervix and stomach while she was sedated but they also performed a minor lil surgery... ALL OF MY CONCERS WERE addressed and taken care of for half the price my original vet quoted for only once service... I feel like I have a new vet that cares about my dogs health and not out to gouge for service... I am forever grateful for being treated like a valued first time customer... thank you so much.

I had an emergency with my dog ( I live in sayward) the closest place I could take her was Nanaimo which is a 3 hour drive. Some friends who use this vet called and they let me bring in my pup. The Vet had been up for 20 hours and another emergency came in as we were leaving and she took them too!! Amazing place ????

I cant say enough good things about this clinic. We were on our August family camping vacation when there was a terrible accident with our little kitten, who we had brought along to stay in the trailer with us as she was too young to leave on her own. We didn't know if she was going to make it. Van Isle agreed to take her immediately and we rushed there from our camping spot. I was devastated. But they were kind and compassionate with me. They examined her, took xrays, and even kept her for observation for the day .In the end, our baby kitten was absolutely fine and she shows no ill effects of her misadventure. The Dr was spot on in her diagnosis and the vet techs were very gracious. I highly recommend this vet- on that day they were our saviours! Thanks Van Isle Vet!

This place is the absolute best! Caring, understanding fantastic people. I had to put our family cat down. She had totally kidney failure. My vet wouldn't take us because they were closing soon. For the weekend. Van Isle was also closing. They told us come right down, will help our kitty. Took me 20 mins to get there. There was no waiting and no rushing. They stayed open for almost an extra hour. They were very understanding. Definitely recommend this place.

The services provided for Breeders are some of the best in North America and I know of Breeders who have travelled long distances to use their services.
