Here you will see all the reviews of people who have information of the services of Wellesley Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) around Churchill territory (Canada).
At the moment the firm receives a rating of 4.6 over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is virtually the best one, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is included in the category of Veterinarian.
I brought my cat Amber here to get a vaccine and diarrhea. Very friendly customer service, responsible. If you live in the DT area, it would be a good choice. Some staff members speak other languages, which helped me a lot when I took Amber there for the first time. My mother tongue is Cantonese. Following Updates: Staff there is very responsible, parking is very convenient. And the price is a bit high, if you have a budget, and willing to drive, you may want to ask other places with lower price.
So glad we found this vet downtown! They're a small clinic, but they deliver excellent service. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and go out of their way to be helpful and thorough with your pet.
Are you a respectable cat, searching for amazing professionals who combine knowledge and experience with compassion and kindness? Then Wellesley Animal Hospital is for you! I would know because being a cat named Nico, I have been visiting …
I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, friendliness, and knowledge of the vet at Wellesley Animal Hospital. We moved downtown recently and have had other vets in the past, but Dr.Ma and her clinic are wonderful and unexpected gems …
Thanks you very nice thank you for having a quick meeting and for your explanation for my kitten.
Thank you Wellesley Animal Hospital for always providing such a great experience for our dachshund Clementine. She actually LOVES going to the vet and seeing all the amazing staff. She just got spayed and I couldn’t recommend them enough- …
I brought the rescue dog that I'm fostering to Wellesley Animal Hospital and they were wonderful. They were very patient with my questions and very thorough in looking over the dog. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a vet.
Exceptional animal clinic downtown; convenient (great new, large, modern digs!), helpful friendly staff; knowledgeable, competent vets and technicians. Doctors take their time to explain context and scenario surrounding your pet's health, giving you as many options to choose from to move forward with treatment/health plans (without the hard-sell - this is HUGE) And all the staff give their best efforts to make sure you're attended to. A trustworthy place for your loved animal with a team who truly have your pet's best interest.
Professional, friendly, informative and I feel confident that my cat is in good hands.
Very professional!Doctors and nurses are patience to help with concerns, even though for tiny little questions. Not pushy to sell products, recommended reliable tips to take care of my elder dog. Pretty good experience!
I approached the vets at Wellesley Animal Hospital when my 3 month old Shihtzu was unwell. Our little pup was diagnosed by Dr. Pilar and Dr. Yu and out pup recovered so well and is back to being his puppy self. So, a big thank you to your team :-) I found that the vet docs are thorough, patient and calmly explain everything in detail. The staff (vet technicians, receptionists, interns) are knowledgable and communicative. Listing a few top points that makes this practice highly reliable: 1) Amazing communication - not just with us, but also within themselves. They know what's going on with your pet and that saves you so much time and distress. 2) I haven't heard even once from them, to buy a certain brand of food or a specific toy or anything that is not required. Infact the advise was more about what my dog likes and what we feel right based on various resources that they have shared. This practice is very fact driven. 3) They are all about everything relevant (strictly relevant) - Small and very important guidances e.g. we received information about calories and nutrition that our growing puppy requires. These were explained to us with examples of distributing portions of meal, transition of diet for our puppy and how to manage a picky eater dog. 4) They are available for you. No ambiguous waiting hours. The drop-offs are well timed and highly organized. Even if it is their closing hours, if your puppy needs vet attention, they will make room to fit you in, promptly check your pet and communicate. 5) My little pup loves their practice. Last time we went to pick up his meds - Miska was keen to enter inside the practice. I could tell he had an amazing time with the staff during his check ups! 6) They got a groomer in place. Mari reached out to us through Miska's instagram and offered to get his face trimmed. So, thank you to Mari that we discovered how amazing you guys are! I am relieved to know that Miska is under the right care now. As a first time pet parent, I would highly recommend this practice. Attaching a pic of my little one - Hope this brings a smile on your face :-)
Fiona is the best! Loved our experience with her this week! Highly recommend this vet!
My experience was fantastic! Dr. Pawliwec and the team were professional, polite and very informative. Given the current circumstances, the pet owner cannot go into the room, and the appointment is done over the phone. Dr. Pawliwec made everything super clear and easy to understand and answered all my questions. The appointment was not rushed at all and it isclear they take time and truly care for your pet!
Had a meet-and-greet appointment online with Dr. Melissa Weir and she was wonderful. I was able to ask all my questions, I didn't feel rushed, and I felt really welcomed. 10/10
The new location is much bigger and has more services available. Pricing is good especially for such a centrally located downtown vet. Only $80 for my cat's annual checkup (plus vaccines) and I feel confident in the care she receives. Note the entrance is at the back on Maitland Drive, not on Yonge Street.
All the staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital is professional, great at what they do, and really wonderful with animals. I’m so glad I found such a reliable vet clinic for my cat.
I’ve decided to switch my pet from Wellesley Animal Hospital because the prices are very high (I paid 400 dollars for my pet’s yearly check up and 250 dollars when my pet had pink eye). Also, they do not prioritize their patients when it …
I've been seeing Dr Ma and Jen (the RVT) for so many years, I can't even tell how long it's been. They have taken wonderful care of my cats and currently, they're taking amazing care of our dog Taro. Every single time we go for a visit, Dr Ma, Jen and the entire staff are very kind and understanding of our concerns. No question is left unanswered. Everyone is very sympathetic and considerate. We went today for Taro's annual visit and as always, we received excellent service and care. I honestly can't imagine going to another clinic for our furry baby. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this amazing clinic to family and friends. Your pets are in the best hands possible.
Wellesley animal Hospital has been EXCELLENT. I have been arranging to take my dog overseas and they have been MORE than helpful with the paperwork’s, tests and appointments. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in the downtown area.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff that always treat my dog with the utmost care and love. I adore the staff here!
Great hospital with very knowledgeable staff and doctors! Highly recommend.
Nothing but great experiences! Our fur babies were taken care of and the prices are VERY reasonable. The staff is super friendly and personable as well. Always a joy to come in for a visit.
Very helpful and friendly staff and vets! My dog is never anxious or scared going here, he actually gets excited to go to the vet now!
Friendly knowledgeable staff, wouldn't want to take my fur babies anywhere else
Wellesley Animal Hospital provides professional services. When I brought my cat Max there, they are patient with all my questions and concerns. The doctor and nurses explain every single step of the procedure and ensure that my cat and I were comfortable.
Great veterinarians with a lot of experience and very friendly staff.
I put one star two years ago(Nov 2018) and left no comment because it was traumatic and I couldn't talk about it. I had my cat Charlie neuter surgery done here, and it went very bad. I've attached some photos and I apologized if it is too graphic. So basically they claimed that they don't have small razors to remove the hair on the surgical area, and they used tweezers to pluck all the hair out. Until today(Sep 2020) they have never reach out or respond to resolve this issue. I switch to The Animal Clinic on Mutual St and they take care of Charlie, and my female cat also get her spay surgery and it went very well. If u live downtown like me, I highly recommend The Animal Clinic on 106 Mutual St.
Everyone at the clinic is so lovely – staff are professional and responsive. Dr. Ma addressed all my concerns regarding my bunny and left me reassured and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place.
I took my cat Ormi here after having a poor experience at a different clinic. The experience here was great! The vet and receptionists took great care to answer my questions and I feel that Ormi was and will be very well cared for.
All of the staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are great! Everyone is super friendly, professional, and knowledgable. We always know our dog is in good hands and getting the best care. They are very caring and patient with our super nervous little guy. We also appreciate how thorough and patient they are explaining the situation and answering our questions.
Very friendly and professional team. Our two cats are happy here.
This is a terrific place. Caring, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They also have good follow up policy after an appointment. It is however, a bit on the expensive side. I would recommend this clinic to friends because of their excellent customer service.
I just moved and was looking for a new vet, Wellesley Animal Hospital was a GREAT find! From the initial contact to bringing in my cat, the front staff were so friendly and patiently answered all my questions. The doctor was clear, kind and professional. And the post-visit follow-up communication was great as well. Many thanks!!
We are very happy with the Wellesley Animal Hospital. Staff are diligent and have always treated our pets with the best possible care. They respond to your emails in a timely manner even with the pandemic in full swing. Veterinarians take their time to understand our concerns and ensure that you understand the treatment plans. Keep up the great work!
The staff is so delightful and understanding. It shows how much they love animals and how dedicated they are to keeping them and us safe during COVID-19. Thank you for taking care of my fur baby!! UPDATE: Your staff is truly amazing. I found a letter in my mailbox thanking me for leaving this review. Just know that your customer service is truly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I feel lucky to live near such an amazing animal hospital!! For the last month they've been extremely professional, helpful and friendly to me and my new puppy. All the staff genuinely care about their patients and their accommodations for COVID-19 are impressive.
I honestly cannot speak highly enough about this veterinary clinic. Every individual working at this clinic from doctor, to receptionist, to technician are outstanding people. They are all extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and will do whatever it takes to help your animal. I recently had an unfortunate medical emergency involving my puppy, and every single person in this clinic went above and beyond to ensure that he was getting the best care and treatment possible. They all loved him and cared for him as if he was their own. I am extremely pleased with this clinic and cannot recommend them enough!
This place is amazing! They saw my cat quickly and treated her with care. They explained clearly all the tests and procedures they were doing, and explained to me exactly how to give my cat her medication. I could tell that my cat was treated compassionately and she was not afraid at all! They also had really great COVID-19 protocols in place which made it easy to book and drop off my cat for her appointment. I will absolutely be returning!
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital were always so positive, kind, and compassionate every time I went in with my hedgehog, Pete. When he died, Dr. Ma was a wonderful source of kindness and support and I was confident that he was always in caring hands. I don't have a pet now, but if I ever get another hedgie (or other pet), I will 100% be coming back to Wellesley Animal hospital.
I've taken 3 of my pets to Wellesley Animal Hospital over the years and they are consistently remarkable. The vets and vet techs are detailed, thorough, communicative, and kind. I always leave feeling like I've had a wonderful customer experience. Would highly recommend to anyone in search of a high-quality vet!
My Australian Shepherd Maxwell truly enjoyed being groomed by Risa! It was his first grooming appointment in his life! Thanks for taking care of our little Maxwell.
I brought my new rescue, Miloh, here for her wellness check and Dr Emily Yu and all the vet techs were super nice and professional. Miloh tends to HATE the vet, as she has anxiety, but somehow... she left happier than ever. Although any vet bill can become pricey, I know Dr. Yu Is reccomending the best for Miloh's long term health and well being. Miloh loves having Dr. Yu as her vet! Thank you Wellesly! ????????❤
Just as the pandemic really starting hitting hard here, my dog needed urgent abdominal surgery. With cool heads and courage during these stressful times Dr. Pilar, Kris, and the crew at WAH saved my dog’s life and she is able to celebrate her 10th birthday this year because of them. They were so kind with my dog, and very compassionate with me and helped me understand what was going on, as they always have done. This means so much to me, and everyone from the front staff to management have my complete trust and gratitude. Thank you WAH! My dog has been through a lot over the years (tooth removal, fistula, allergies, sprains, mange, cysts, etc.) so I feel like I can talk a lot about this place but I will keep it brief. It takes a lot for me to trust anyone with my dog, Tengu, and she has been shown so much love, and care at this clinic since she was a puppy (mostly looked after by Dr. Ma who is just so great) I won't bring her anywhere else. At regular check ups and beyond, the people who work here are knowledgeable and friendly. If you care about your pet, don’t hesitate to bring them in, you are in amazing hands here.
So glad we found this vet downtown! They're a small clinic, but they deliver excellent service. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and go out of their way to be helpful and thorough with your pet.
They have a great staff, really sweet and helped me with my pet bunny. I highly recommend this Animal hospital! Will be booking all of my animals appointments here going forward!
This is my first time! I took lil Velma in and she is in good health. I always find vets telling me the worse case and how much I need to spend if I truly love them. We did exam on floor as doggo was comfy there. The Dr was super sweet and staff were lovely and running on time
Our cat Kid never really liked going to the vet. Until he meet vet Dr. Pitulia from Wellesley Animal Hospital! She's is so patient with animals and knows how to create the right atmosphere to keep our cat comfortable. She takes her time and is genuinely interested in her patients, thank you Nicole! Really recommend asking for Dr. Pitulia!!
An adorable and professional team. After 4 years in Toronto, I have finally found a veterinarian that I trust completely. Professional and abodable price. Thank you for taking care of Oscar, he will come back to visit you for his vaccinations very soon!
I'm a first time pet owner and so far, I've really appreciated all the guidance and care for my cat! Easy to book online, responsive via email, and very thorough in explaining to me the diagnosis and options for treatment. Hoping to continue the positive experience!
This is the place. You can trust them to be thorough, honest, and above all....caring. These are some great people - doesn't matter who is working the day of your emergency - they have you. Thanks Wellesley for taking such good care of my boys!
I have been bringing my 8yr old GoldenDoodle to WAH since she was 12 weeks old. Dr. Ma, along with the other vets, vet techs, groomers and support team are an integral part to my dog’s total wellbeing and progressive health and maintenance. They welcome her and treat her as if she was their own. Grateful to the WAH team for their ongoing partnership and wisdom for this dog-dad.
the staff are INCREDIBLE! They agreed to partner with our rescue, redemption paws, and have been an absolute pleasure to work with. So diligent with all the dogs, and they care about them so much! This is a great clinic. They have an amazing follow up and such friendly staff!
Always super quick to reply to emails about my dog or scheduling! Zero complaints! They are very clear on instructions and also attach them on medication bottles in detail so there's no misunderstanding. Everyone is also super sweet with my …
We have two dogs, both rescues, and can't speak highly enough of the level of care they've received at Wellesley Animal Hospital. Our dog Samson was heartworm positive and needed lots of tests and a lengthy treatment plan, including several day-long hospitalizations for his injections. The Wellesley team was so patient in answering our questions about the treatment process and making sure we had all the information and education we needed to make sure Sam stayed safe during his treatment. It was hard dropping him off for each treatment knowing what he was going through, but having him in the care of the Wellesley team put our minds at ease as we knew he'd have his pain well-managed and that we'd hear right away if there were any problems. Our dog Olive is timid and was scared to go in for her first check-up, and the Wellesley team was very gentle and sweet with her. We got a great breakdown from Dr. Weir as to the should do's, could do's, must do's, and wait-and-see tasks to make sure we were getting off to a good start with her in our care. We've recommended Wellesley Animal Hospital to everyone we know who has a pet, and will continue to do so. We feel very fortunate to have our pups taken care of by their staff.
This Animal Hospital was recommended over the Downtown Animal hospital. What a huge mistake. From day one the staff treated Enzo (my puppy) and myself like a inconvenience, in other words we're too busy and don't need anymore patients. I overlooked receptionist frown and ignored her dismissive demeanour. Enzo has a rash on his lower abdominal area that is spreading up his chest. I brought him with me to show the staff just how bad it was. They told me in tone lacking zero empathy that two weeks is the earliest they could see Enzo. The Emergency Vet in Yorkville won't treat him because his not dead yet Re: doesn't meet the triage criteria. I booked the appointment with Wellesley and prayed he would be ok. I work full time 9-5 on Fridays (the day of the appointment) I could not get the day off only take a half day. I was running late to the appointment so I texted them -no reply. I called and spoke to the receptionist who gleefully told me it was cancelled. I was upset so she put me on hold for 10 minutes only to tell me Dr. Toro (sic) cancelled the appointment. Enzo's rash is getting worse, but it seems the Veterinarians at the Wellesley Animal Hospital are too busy to care when they can choose and pick their patients without remorse or compassion. I have never experienced such cold hearted and mean uncaring behaviour before. My dog is seriously ill and they cancelled our appointment because I was 15 minutes late.. I guess Dr. Toros (I have no idea if that's the spelling because I never met him)must be looking forward to their cottage in the Muskoakas
Went in for routine blood work test with a RVT to check for ticks. They said the appointment would be done in 40 mins and they'd call. It was pouring so I was mostly sitting in front outside on the bench where a few staff passed by me and one acknowledged me/asked if she could help and I said I was waiting for my dog. I was finally waiting outside at 70 mins when my phone was going to die, so I called in and asked when my dog would be done. They brought my dog out, saying she had been ready for a while now and they didn't see me outside. Quite frustrating, waited extra half hour for nothing. Just bringing to any future clients' attention: if you do have an appointment, they seem quite busy and the staff may have blinders on when outside or obstructions that prevent them from seeing you on the bench, so it's best to call at the 40 min mark so you're not wasting your time. The other tip I have is to always ask for a breakdown of the procedures because the staff will just tell you the total on the credit card machine without knowing the details of what they're charging you for (I witnessed this happen to another customer too and they went back and forth about the charges). The staff who brought my dog out was apologetic.
Dr. Yu and Selene did such an excellent job taking care of my cat Chavo! He's usually so anxious at the vet, but they took time to make sure he felt comfortable and safe. We just went in for his annual checkup, but they were so thorough and …
Dear Team and Dr. Michelle Leung, We would like to thank you for your service and support with our hamster Bubbles. We've just received your sweet card and it was hard not to tear up. Unfortunately, we had to put our hamster down, and the team provided excellent support during this horrible time. We are still very much sad about our pet passing, but without you it would be so much harder. Thank you and be safe???? Justine
The vet was very patient and took her time explaining the diagnosis. She is very professional, transparent about the costs, and not pushy/salesy at all. 10/10 will come back
So I am a very critical, judgemental and (some say picky) specific individual and that differs nothing when it comes to the care of my baby girl Maggie Mae. After attending several local vets in the Toronto area: Downtown Animal Hospital, Danforth Veterinary Clinic, Toronto Central and a few more I called Wellesley Animal Hospital and inquired about addressing Maggies Pyometra. Right away from just the initial phone call, i knew we had found the vet for Maggie. The staff were informative, sincere and truly sounded like they do their job because they love animals. I was even more sold when I took Maggie in for her initial visit and saw how the staff interacted with me and with Maggie. After checking her the doctor herself called me and explained everything to do in what was almost a 20 minute phone call after all my questions and her thorough explanation. That showed me that they aren't about quantity, they're about quality due to the fact this was right at the end of their day. We had a couple more visits within a few days of that preparing for Maggies operation and they remembered who we were and interactions they had with Maggie in my absence. I feel so confident and sure of the staff there in that they're treating Maggie well and are almost as concerned personally for her well being as I am. Like I said we saw a few vets prior and hands down this will be Maggies vet from here on. If i could rate them more than 5 stars they would get it. Superb staff, stupendous care and overall a great experience every visit. Cant thank them enough and can't recommend them enough.
My cat Athena went rapidly downhill in the past few months, due to being an old lady - she's nearly 16 - and due to being ill. The staff here are invaluable. I really cannot say enough about their reassurance, their versatility, the way they always followed up with me about her, and now, their compassionate way they're going to help me say goodbye to her. This has been such a hard time and these people truly know and care about animals, and about their human owners. Special thanks to Amie, Dr. Murphy, and Dr. Leung for taking such wonderful care of my sweet girl. I will be returning with my other cat, Fili, for her care, and will be bringing any future animals I may have to them. For those complaining about the cost, any vet in Toronto is going to cost this much, and they are willing to discuss reductions in price with you. I will pay for the care I've received for my cat gladly. I feel like I'm in good, safe hands with this team. They have truly welcomed me as part of the family. Thank you.
I will not be sending my dog or my new puppy to Wellesley Animal Hospital again. I called first thing on a Saturday morning and requested an appointment for my Labrador who couldn't sit or lie down and was in obvious pain for hours. They wouldn't take me in. More, later as the symptoms continued, I called again and asked if they could please see my dog. The receptionist said they had already taken two additional appointment requests earlier and couldn't fit me in. I mean, are you for real?! I contacted them the moment they opened and was refused an appointment. Then later to find they accepted two other patients and couldn't fit me in. Totally unacceptable and awful. Instead, I visited Yonge-Davenport Animal Hospital and they were absolutely wonderful, accommodating, and will be returning there!

The entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital were exceptional at treating Fitzgerald, my foster dog. They worked diligently to squeeze him in so he could get the care he so desperately needed. I've been to a lot of Vet clinics over the years and I was impressed with the staff and highly recommend them.
I love this place! They're always so helpful; and they take great care of both of our dogs. When we got our puppies, we looked hard at all the vets downtown. We've had experiences with other vets where it seemed like all they cared about …
I took my puppy for a wellness check up the staff super profesional they helped me and my pet, they went above and beyond my expectations with the treatment and recommendations given for the care of my pet. Also the staff is multilingual which came really handy, Dr Villanueva helped us a lot, she gave us amazing advice on how to raise a puppy. I'm definitely taking my dog there again. I'm really thankful for their service
The staff are very friendly and helpful. KoZmo love going there for his visit. Thank you so much for always taking good care of my KoZmo.
Overall, great experience with this clinic. The receptionist was very helpful and was able to get me an appointment the next day for my dog, Mini and the receptionist at the clinic when I arrived was so friendly and helpful as well. At the appointment with Dr. Pilar, she was extremely understanding, knowledgeable and compassionate; was able to answer all of my questions honestly and recommend the best plan for my dog. The clinic even sent a follow-up email a few days after they had seen Mini to make sure she was doing well. Will definitely be going back to this clinic for future appointments with my dog.
They care a lot and always takr great care to help my pet!
Thank you to Dr. Pilar, Dr. Leung, and the entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital for helping our 9 yr old shih tzu Laika with compassionate care. We brought in our dog in April for an emergency pyometra surgery. Dr. Pilar was very informative of the surgery and the risks involved and gave us comfort with our dog in their care. They were very involved with follow-ups post-surgery and made her recovery manageable at home. Our dog’s stitches were done impeccably well and healed up beautifully after a couple of weeks. Unfortunately we had brought back our dog to the hospital after developing IMHA, where Dr. Leung was quick to address questions and helped us to a referral clinic to proceed with further treatment. Even though our pet was a new client, their team treated us and our dog with empathy, professionalism, and gave us the absolute best veterinarian experience we’ve ever had. We plan on bringing our new puppy to Wellesley for vet needs because we’re so deeply moved by their care.
They did an excellent job! Compared to "Hold my Paws" where I brought him for his first groom, they took nothing off him and didn't even trim his nails!! At Wellesley they did everything and made him look so clean and tidy, getting all his matts out! 100% recommend!
Our first visit was a very positive experience for me and my two kittens. The staff are considerate, understanding, and professional. There was no pressure, and they explained what to expect as well as various payment options.
Had a great experience taking my two foster dogs to Wellesley animal hospital. All of the staff were extremely friendly, very gentle and empathetic with the dogs which was so important given what they had come from. The vet was very thorough but also realistic and cognizant of costs so made recommendations that were in the best interest of the dogs but also cost effective and respectful of budget. Would highly recommend!
Wellesley Animal Hospital from start to finish has been incredibly helpful, thoroughly explaining procedures, clear accurate pricing and of course the care for our baby Porsche has been incredible. We brought our baby yorkie here for her shots, flea & ticks, and most recently her spay. Everything has gone off without a hitch and the hospital checks up consistently and is always available for questions or concerns. Very grateful to have you in the neighbourhood and we’ll be sure to bring Porsche’s brother when he joins the family! Thank you, From Cory, Dylan and Porsche.
I popped in one day, my chihuahua in my arms having trouble breathing, knowing tbey arent an After the initial shock “wtf is with this guy?” Passed, action happened, and within minutes, i was reassured, Manuel was getting tthe assistance he needed, and at the end of the day i didn't end up feeling like i was paying for the vets jacuzzi. I would recommend this wonderful group.
Very convenient location. (1min walk from Wellesley subway station) Can usually be seen within 24hrs notice if needed. Appointment times are punctual. Great email communication. Good selection of food & other pet products, they are also happy to put things aside on a 24hr hold which is so helpful. Friendly staff, clean & quiet office, I don't feel pressured into doing extra blood work, x-rays etc - you're always given the option of choice, which can be very rare! I would recommend this business. I've been taking our 2 cats here for over 6yrs now :)
Amazing service. Friendly staff. Couldn’t be better.
The appointment scheduling was very quick, overall the customer service was nice. However, my cat was sick and they wanted to do blood work, only to tell me they couldn't detect anything. I was advised my cat almost looked as if she might not be able to make it if she doesn't get treated. The cost was very expensive for the one visit which included: blood work, two different prescriptions. I was only able to afford one of the prescriptions since the blood work alone was costly. Luckily the prescription I purchased did the trick and my cat was full of life. Overall, I'm disappointed in my first experience there, my friend had recommended me to go to her vet but because of the location I decided to go here. I will not be going back in the future as I feel the vet lacked confidence in her work and seemed very uncertain with the diagnosis of my cat.
I brought my 3 year old Pomeranian in to seek a long term treatment for a Collapsing Trachea. Dr. Weir was kind, thorough, and never tried to up sell. She left the lines of communication open if I needed to adjust the treatment with my Pom if our current system proves not as effective. The clinic itself is beautiful, and conveniently located. I've had other friends in the downtown core that have gone to them and say that their experience was a positive one and the Vets were great. For anyone with a new puppy or kitten, I would DEFINITELY recommend Pet Insurance. Vet visits nowadays are SUPER expensive. The sooner you get insurance, then any condition that arises WON'T be considered by the Insurance company as "pre existing". It's an investment, but pays off when something happens to your fur baby down the line.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. The staff are unfriendly and dismissive (except for the British lady with the red hair). I brought my new puppy in for a consultation and they had called me within five minutes of having her that they were done. I was shocked but I had read such good things. They told me they had one shot to give her that day and as I reviewed her records, I was pretty sure she had it already. The vet hadn’t checked or noticed so thank goodness I said something. Finally, I was told to incorporate soft food into her meal so I bought what they recommended. Two days later she was bleeding when she went poo - I was terrified! I called the vet immediately and they told me they had no appointments available and to call someone else. They were willing to give me a list to call but I found that ridiculous. We had just set up all her shots for the upcoming six months and they couldn’t even take her in for an emergency. The receptionist couldn’t have cared less and told me there was nothing she could do. I was a complete mess, terrified with no direction to go. Why would other vets take my puppy if they’ve never even met her? Luckily, my parents have two dogs and a vet they trust at Yonge and Lawrence. Far drive but worth it. They took me within two hours and within 24 hours she was doing much better. They may be cheaper than other vets but it’s not worth it - don’t take your dog here if you care about them (or cat!) On a completely different note, the place is tiny and they have so many customers, vets, receptionists walking around at one time you wouldn’t think for a second there is a pandemic going on. Very scary to be in there if you would like to avoid getting covid. I did get a cute toy in there, though! Will never step foot back in that place.
Great Animal Hospital in downtown Toronto. Great installations and big jump from the small clinic on Wellesley St. Top professional and dedicated vets, RVTs and staff, lots of different dog and cat services available (including pet grooming), modern equipment and pet loving staff. Not much you can improve in it all. Congratulations.
Everyone at the clinic is so lovely – staff are professional and responsive. Dr. Ma addressed all my concerns regarding my bunny and left me reassured and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place.
They are honestly so great and so welcoming. Great energy, good vibes. And they all know what they're doing.
We have been bringing our dog in since she was a puppy over the past two years and the service here has been good for regular visits, nail clippings, and some minor issues. Admin team is so nice and pleasant to deal with and generally does follow up emails. However, our dog has been in so much discomfort because she is so itchy. We have not had a consistent veterinarian, over the past year, she has seen 4 different doctors at this clinic and we are constantly bringing up her itchiness. This is an issue because there has been no consistency and they may not be interested in helping since they are not her full-time veterinarian.
I am very happy with this clinic. I have used this clinic with my cats and currently with the dog I just adopted. I had to have one of my cats put to sleep and one of the vets and a vet tech came to my home to do it. Yes it was more …
The team here is AMAZING. My dog loves coming in to see all the staff. They're also super responsive. The vet will literally spend as much time as I need on the phone going through my pet's needs. The vet techs regularly emailed after our …
They were great and saved my cats life. Tye thanks you. Yes I came everyday and stayed with him here for the majority of the days, hrs on end, petting and aiding him but you operated on him, gave him needed meds and re. So with expertise and ❤ Love he came out alive, he's doing well.....Thanks to Wellesley Animals Hospital ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤????????
Wonderful place to take your dog or cat - they truly care!
I just wanted to hop on here and STRONGLY recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital. They have been my primary veterinarian for my cat for two years now. Recently my cat has had some health issues that required a lot of back and forth via email and phone. They were always quick to respond and very helpful and very calm in addressing all of my questions and concerns about my cat. They told me exactly what I needed to do and were very reassuring through a very stressful time for my cat and myself. Staff is always super friendly and I think it's important to mention that they are all animal lovers themselves. They really cared for Hershel like he was their own. For anyone in the Yonge-Wellesley area or anywhere in Toronto if you can get to it, Wellesley Animal Hospital is the superb choice and I wouldn't take my cat anywhere else.
Had my dog Magnet groomed a few days ago and he looks fantastic with his new Spring/ Summer lion cut style. Amazing job! The staff is always friendly and Magnet loves them. Thank you.
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are honestly amazing! I called them this morning because my cat Mikka was in a lot of pain and hadn't eaten for over 24 hours due to an episode of pancreatitis. They somehow managed to squeeze him in and Dr. Pilar and Dr. Ma went above and beyond with their care and expertise, and I'm so grateful to them both. They truly care about what they do and about the well-being of your pet. Mikka came home a few hours later hungry and purring, and hopefully on the road to recovery. :-)
The whole staff is absolutely amazing with Puff, my special needs cat. They picked up on his traits and quirks and even share stories of what he got up to if he has to stay for the day. Dr. Weir and Dr. Pawliwec are consistently thorough, accommodating and perceptive. It's not just a job for them, they truly care about all their patients and their owners. I would recommend them to anyone.
I have been going to Wellesley Animal Hospital for years and they are fantastic! The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. They are great with my pug Maxx and always follow up after every appointment to see how he is doing. Definitely would recommend them! Couldn’t ask for a more professional and caring vet. Thank you for all that you do!
Oliver has been a patient of Wellesley Animal Hospital for 8.5 years now, I did temporarily take him to another vet that is closer to home during COVID, but my trust in Dr. Ma when Oliver needed surgery brought me back to them. Dr. Ma is so lovely. Oliver truly loves her and is happy to walk through the doors of the clinic. He had a major surgery last week, and he's back home, doing great. I appreciate that they always check in the next day after he's been there. Or even after I've called with a concern, they still check in via email the next day to make sure he's ok. Some of the staff, particularly Jen, have been there the entire time Oliver has been a patient and its really reassuring to see long standing staff who remember him. Oliver is a bit of a nervous little guy, I'll never forget being told Jen held him on her lap at her desk while she worked when he was crying after a procedure.
I sent 2 of my cats here. Here is my experience, you be your own judge. 1st visit) Adopted my kitten, booked her for vaccination, deworming (as her tummy was bloated and we found a worm near her one day) and her eye was watery and shut suddenly. We sent her in (I cannot enter due to COVID, so the vet gave me a call 30min after). In the call, the vet asked what does the worm looked like, told me she dewormed her and vaccinated her. She also recommended to do an eye test ($30 extra) and I asked what for? Then she said the test wasn’t required, will give an eye drop instead. My kitten reacted well with the vaccines, deworm and the eye drop. Totalling $300 for first visit 2) Sent my Adult cat who has chipped canine tooth. We were advised to send in pictures via email first to check the severity. They replied back saying to book him in. I took him in as he needed his yearly vaccination too. On the call, the vet administered the vaccine, recommended another vaccine as he is an outdoor cat, I agreed. They also recommend getting a Leukaemia test (another $100), I asked why, then they said because he is an outdoor cat and I said we can just give him the Leukemia vaccine, they said yes we can administer the vaccine without the test but we recommend getting the test in the next weeks. They also said my cat’s chipped tooth needed to be extracted as the pulp was exposed and cat’s are good at hiding their pain. They quoted $1400 for the extraction at their clinic or a root canal at a specialist. I said I will think about it. This visit totalled about $200 for checkup, vaccine, deworm, flea treatment I went to Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital for a second opinion. They actually LET ME IN for the checkup with proper physical distancing and vet wearing face mask and head shield. The vet here poked my cat’s tooth (to see if he is reacting to it - none), move the teeth to see if it’s loose, checked the pulp and determined that extraction is not necessary and to monitor any symptoms. At this point, I have asked to transfer all my cats medical record to this animal hospital instead but my kitten is due her last vaccination and Bathurst Dupont is fully booked so I had to continue the last vaccination. 3) Sent my kitten in for her second vaccination. The vet said she found Fleas on her. Advising flea treatment, I declined as I want to get the flea treatment myself(with another vet) The vet kept pushing that I won’t find this over the counter etc. She also recommend Leukaemia vaccine, I asked why I thought only outdoor cat needs that, she couldn’t explain further and I declined. Summary: Based on my experience, although I am not vet, I trust that the vet should be able to explain further and educate me but what I felt is that the vet is recommending unnecessary treatment so that they could charge more. I am glad I did not extract my cat’s tooth when it is not necessary. To conclude, each time I sent my cats in they tried to add further costs then I requested, second specialist opinion also deemed these costs to not be required. In times of covid when people have lost jobs I think its not am ethical practice to extract people from their hard earned money in a form of guilt trip through their animals health.
Extremely attentive and informative. Everyone we came in contact with made an effort to listen to our concerns and questions. Everything was detailed and laid out so we could understand. Over the top customer relations. Since we couldn't be there in person they made the appointment extremely easy and put us at ease. Highly recommend WAH.
I took my kittens for vaccination. It was hard to find the clinic for the first time but Very professional and well knowledge doctors and nurses work there. My kittens received excellent care. Looking forward coming back when needed. It’s a decent care price. And very nice and clean place
We love Wellesley Animal Hospital! They have been wonderful with our Elkhound, and as a result she has no fear at all about going to see the vet. Their staff is very helpful and professional. I love the patient portal and the text reminders for appointments. The portal makes booking appointments very convenient.
I've been bringing Poncho (my not-so-friendly-but-oh-so-lovely Chihuahua) to Wellesley Animal Hospital for over 5 years. They have always been the best to him. Also, from dog-dad perspective, they have always been willing to answer as many questions (good and dumb) and provide as much information, quotes, opinions and advice as requested. I've never had a better experience and I would totally recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital
Staff members are always kind and patient with both parent and pet!
I have been bringing my cat to Wellesley Animal Hospital for 3 years now and don't have a single bad thing to say about them. I fully trust them with my cat and everyone is always incredibly professional, kind, helpful and knowledgable. Always an amazing experience at Wellesley Animal Hospital
I am so happy I went to this clinic! I rescued an incredible but aggressive (to touch) golden retriever, Cali, and booked a teleconsult behaviour consultation with Dr. Pilar. She was not only extremely friendly, understanding, and knowledgeable but explained everything very clearly. I have previously had vets who struggled to explain to me WHY they were making certain recommendations but Dr. Pilar provided me clear and sensible explanations for everything. Today, Cali went in to get updated on her vaccinations and get a routine exam and I was very anxious (due to her issues with touch, aggression, strangers, etc.). Once I got to the clinic and met the staff I immediately felt at ease and I could see Cali warm up to the RVT very quickly. I was pleased to hear that she was able to be fully examined (minus her teeth, but that was expected) which I didn't think was possible given her triggers. When I picked her up she seemed happy and comfortable with the staff. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with this clinic from Dr. Pilar to the RVTs. In addition, the facility is very convenient to get to and is set up so bright and beautifully. Thanks again so much - see you all in a few weeks for her booster :)
Very nice and helpful staff. They treat my animals with care and great prices
Big thank you to the amazing team at Wellesley Animal Hospital who helped heal my lil girl (rabbit) through a very bad bout of GI stasis. I am so grateful. Extremely professional and caring team. I will be back!
This was my first visit with my foster dog. It was so nice of them for taking care of the rescue dogs from the Redemption Paws. They were nothing but absolutely friendly and gracious and caring crews! They were very attentive to my foster dog’s need and genuinely interested to know about him and addressed my concerns and questions. I definitely recommend this clinic for any pet owners hands down! 10/10!!
Swanky digs for a vet. Just outside Wellesley station. The entrance is on a lane way parallel to Yonge. The first floor is where you check in and has food and stuff for purchase. Upstairs is where the clinic is. Very calm atmosphere. Light …
Coming here for an emergency for my puppy, because my vet was fully booked, I was surprised to find a very professional and attentive to detail staff. Thank you!
No wait time at all! Very prompt with their appointments. The staff was friendly and efficient and did everything they could to make my dog feel comfortable.
They were very good about me being a nervous mum with lots of questions. Took really good care of our baby boy Pickles. ????
Amazing place and the best doctors. They performed a very complicated intestine surgery on my cat and she is still with me a year later! The clinic is also very honest and professional - no useless tests, no strange charges. Highly recommend.
The team is great. They are really knowledgeable and friendly. The vet always explains everything in detail and makes sure I understand. They are also really good with following up after appointments to make sure that my cat is healing properly. Plus, my cat is a handful and she gets really nervous when we leave the house. The nervousness affects her stomach, and she once pooed on the vet. I was mortified, but the vet handled it really well. I definitely recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital!
Bandito my Pomeranian gets groomed by Mari at Wellesley animal hospital, not only does he come out very handsome, but Mari is very kind and gentle with him, and very talented.
We had been a client (two cats, one dog) of Wellesley Animal Hospital for four years, at which point we had switched to a different vet. The good: very friendly staff, easy email follow-up. Would love to point out that Dr. Ma is amazing and we miss her a lot! The bad: over time, as the place grew in size, we have noticed a significant drop in the quality and continuity of care. As mentioned by other commenters, I believe Wellesley animal hospital today employs quite a big vet staff - with very variable degrees of experience both in dealing with animals and with people. A mild example would include one vet calling both our cats “of normal weight”, while another one stated that “they both are quite overweight” - which was bizarre for animals whose ribs are easily felt and whose waistline is very defined. The neutral-ish: there are lots of comments about pricing - I think it’s consistent with vets in Toronto. However, I do believe we were up sold on multiple unnecessary tests/procedures as time went on. This practice was also VERY aggressive on insisting on a neuter for our dog, which we have politely declined as he is a pedigree show dog. I did not need monthly, constant, emails about this.
My first experience with Wellesley Animal Hospital was less than a week after I brought my new kitten home from the Humane Society. She had very bad digestive problems, and at only 9 weeks old, she was dehydrated and losing weight. My previous experience with various vets downtown had been terrible, so I really needed to find someone new. From the beginning, it was obvious that Dr. Ma and the staff at Wellesley would be my new permanent vet clinic. Not only did they get me in right away (which probably saved my kitten's life), they treated her like their very own cherished pet. Within a week of seeing Dr. Ma, she was in perfect health again, and she is now a very happy and healthy 2 1/2 yr old cat. Every subsequent visit has only re-enforced my high opinion of Wellesley Animal Hospital. The doctors and support staff are wonderful, their prices are reasonable, and they NEVER try to up-sell you on unnecessary tests or treatments. They are also the ONLY vet, in a life time of pet ownership, who actually calls or emails me with any test results, and where the vet personally phones me to follow up on my cat's condition. Even after moving out of the neighbourhood, I still take my cat exclusively to Wellesley Animal Hospital.
Always a pleasant & welcoming hospital to bring your children, oops I mean pets......nope I mean children ;) the staff are compassionate, well trained, professional & give you wonderful service + care. Highly recommended
Friendly and Amazing staff however the prices are usually higher than other vets. The location is great.

Dr. Emily and staff were great when I brought my pup in! We recently moved from another vet office and the transition was smooth and seamless. They kept me informed through the whole process (as I could not accompany my pup into the clinic due to Covid). Thank you so much!
My cat suddenly fell ill when I took him to this hospital. They asked questions to make sure they have everything on file and did a very thorough check-up on my cat. I am very impressed on how detailed and organized they were. After the …
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are kind, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Our dog always leaves with a smile, which is no small feat for a vet visit!
Amazing first experience here from the staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital. Dr. Yu was very caring & informative and took the time to explain each concern that I had. She and her staff also followed up with me afterwards about some of the things that we discussed. Some other places are super pushy to run unnecessary tests and rush the appointment but I feel that this is not one of them even though they were busy. Everyone was very friendly and professional here :) thank you!!
We've been with Wellesley Animal Hospital for quite long time. Very friendly staff and doctors is taking care of my dog really well. The new place is very clean and they have variety of products in stock. They also have online site where you can purchase food/treats/toys. Love it!
Everyone here was so friendly and took great care of my foster pup. They spent a lot of time with me and were very patient with my nervous girl. Pilar clearly loves animals and is very dedicated to what she does. 10/10 would recommend
Very kind and helpful staff.
I loved brining my cat here. The only reason I left was because we ended up moving, but they were always super friendly and helpful in regards to any appointments that needed to be booked, dietary question, or just answering my general questions. They were on the more pricey side of vets in Toronto though, maybe that’s just because I didn’t have pet insurance and my cat needed a super expensive surgery, but even so my cat had a complication during surgery and needed to end up being hospitalized at another hospital because they didn’t have the capabilities to monitor her over night. All in all it’s not a bad place for mid-city pet care though.
I take my senior cat to the Wellesley Animal Hospital and Dr. Tara is wonderful! She always take the time to patiently explain things to me and is compassionate, honest and attentive. I completely trust her with my cat! …
Fantastic staff - my cats always get the best care at Wellesley Animal Hospital. Everyone is so very attentive and kind. Scheduling is a breeze. Grooming work is excellent, too! I have had animals in my life since I was a child and I have never loved a vet clinic like I love the Wellesley Animal Hospital. They have taken such amazing care of our furry friends, going above and beyond the call of duty when our senior cat passed a couple years ago. Staff are all professional and friendly. We'll never take our cats anywhere else!
Everyone here is so friendly and personable! I never hesitate bringing my dog in for an appointment as everything is always explained so well and you’re presented with options and recommendations to help you make the best decision. The …
Excellent service! My appointment time was right on, even during COVID. Safe COVID Protocols! I felt extremely happy with my vet visit. Plus Jackson had a blast!
I had arrived on time with my pet for my appointment with them this afternoon. When I arrived, I was not greeted at all by any staff. They had me waited outside in the cold for 15 minutes before anyone even came out. Let me remind you that it is January right now so it is freezing cold outside. I, as a human being, was suffering in a thick winter jacket. Let alone it be a pet. For anyone wondering still, please just imagine your beloved pet in a carrier outside in the cold for FIFTEEN minutes straight before any staff even acknowledged your existence when it is your appointment time. I left shortly after and I will never come back again.
My pup has been a patient at Wellesley Animal Hospital since May 2015. The Vets and RVTs consistently go above and beyond to provide the best care I could ask for. From how they communicate and interact with me and my pup at visits, to following up with detailed emails and promptly responding to any additional questions or concerns I have over email and the phone. Everyone I have interacted with has been INCREDIBLE. I feel so comfortable and confident that my pup is in the very best hands. Look forward to seeing their new space when they move locations!
Although the staff is really nice I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the experience. Was advised to do a more invasive, and therefore, more expensive procedure that would give me better results to only find out that the vet didn’t order the complete test so now I have to pay for it again if I want more comprehensive results. Also, my dog was quite ill and I was anxiously waiting for test results when his vet went away on vacation, which is fine except that I tried for 3 full days getting a hold of ANY vet in the clinic to let me know what was going on with my dog. In addition, I was charged for a return visit even though in my original visit I had mentioned some of the symptoms and the vet choose to not investigate. The clinic is just after money and charges for things that other clinics don’t.
We were so lucky to have Dr. Catalina Roman there. She was amazing. Explained every necessary risk and benefits, and she was so kind and patient with my boy and daughter, Steve and Candy. I will defiantly 5star this place.
We had a great experience with Wellesley animal hospital. Obviously all the groomers are closed during covid and they were able to accommodate our annual vaccines and my dogs nail trimming all in one appointment. I was able to coordinate everything by email - Mari was wonderful. Tara was friendly and explained everything really well by phone while my dog was at the appointment! Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely go back! Thank you!
my puppy received a consultation and dewormer for $200. The vet(I believe her name was nicole) told us the puppy was very healthy and looks well. We took the puppy home and it started puking and diarreah in the next morning. It refused drinking and eating and we were very concerned. We contacted the vet through phone and they said its normal and expected reaction to dewormer, and asked us to buy more digest-able food to feed the puppy. We went there to get digest-able food and asked again whether it was normal, which we were assured it is. The puppy did not get well in the next morning and the clinic is closed. We had to rush it to other hospital begging someone to see it. We were told he puppy was in critical condition and would cost alot for care and might not survive so we had to pay $300 to have it go peacefully. Our puppy died within 2 days of receiving reassurance from this hospital.
Carly Butter: I took my foster dog, Lorelai, from Redemption Paws to Wellesley vet. The staff were extremely friendly, caring, patient, and gentle. Lorelai was really scared of the needle and of being in this new space, but the vet (Dr. Young I believe) and the vet techs were very understanding and took great care of her. I highly recommend this animal hospital to everyone in the Toronto area!
The staff is so compassionate and kind. I'm very stressed when having to take my cat to the doctor, and they really helped ease me. Also staying in touch with me after the visit, is really helping us get through this. Great location as well. Thank you so much. ????????
Wellesley Animal Hospital took great care of our puppy throughout her spay and were diligent about following up after the procedure and to check in and see how she was doing. Everyone here is very organized and provide a very high level of care, we trust our pup will always be very well cared for.
really it was an OK experience at best. front desk very polite. fair price. came here once and never again. vet is really against raw diet for all dogs for ridiculous reasons. wouldn’t bring a shepherd here. overpriced and said my dog had a million little concerns that other vets said was no issue at all. seems like a money grab to me. (EDIT since the hospital replied to my review: why would i leave a review here if i’ve never been here? there’s a reason i use a fake name and different email on GMaps, it’s so individuals like yourself don’t go looking through my file and start calling me to take these down. i can assure you our experience was 100% real lol and we won’t be returning, we don’t live in the GTA anymore anyway).
Staff is all very caring, friendly, and quick to respond to any questions or issues you may have.
I highly recommend this hospital! The hospital’s inside is bright and clean. The staff are super friendly and the doctor is professional and took good care of my cats. They truly care your pets and will even follow up to see if your pets are doing well after the visit.
When I dropped my dog off for her appt she was nervous and a little hyper. They took her inside without issue and I could hear them talking to her to help calm her down. The vet was clear and took her time talking to me about her health and potential treatments. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
My corgi puppy loves going to the vet! The staff are always so friendly and I can tell they take great care of my pup. He was recently neutered and within a day, one of the RVTs sent an email to check up on him. They even told me to send a picture to get their medical staff to review as I was worried about the swelling and they got back to me about it right away. The doctors always take the time to ensure we understand exactly the procedure or diagnostics and never pressure for non necessary treatment. They are patient and I always know my puppy is in good hands at the hospital! We have had experiences with other hospitals nearby and definitely did not have the same level of service and care so I highly recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital!
We have the best experience bringing our cat to the Wellesley Animal Hospital. They could not be nicer or more caring. They really take the time to explain everything and make you feel completely comfortable about your pet’s health and well-being.
Bringing my little chihuahua in to see the vet is always hard for me to separate from her especially during the covid restrictions, but they make me feel at ease , listening to my concerns, I felt that nahla was in good caring hands and my vet went over all the details about her issues and ran over every cost before proceeding! Thank you for taking such good care of my baby girl !!
I am very happy that I was able to get the amazing support for my dog and myself from the professional staff at this clinic. The time that was spent with me and my dog Roxy has been incredible. I took my dog there for her bloody vomiting and diarrhea, and I was able to get my dog checked out again for the next 2 days with them. My dog was very happy to see them each time and just walked away with them wagging the tail :) each time I took her there (forgetting all about her symptoms). I was able to ask all my questions and get complete answers to them before I leave (staff have been very patient with my anxiety and repeated questions). As a dog lover I advise this place to any pet owner. Not to forget mentioning that their costs are very reasonable compared to other places too. Thank you to all the staffs. Oh man I took my dog here for the second time, I cannot thank them enough. You can truly trust their honestly and advice as their intention is nothing but your pet's well being. Thank you very much, again to all of the amazing staff.
I have been fostering with Redemption Paws for a little over a month now, and Wellesley Animal Hospital has graciously agreed to see our dogs. The staff is so incredibly kind, thoughtful and informative. The vet went into detail about …
A fantastic animal hospital—everyone I spoke to was so kind, knowledgable, and professional. It is clear that they care about your pets and want the best for them.
Great experience with great clinical staff. We called this vet prior to adopting our new pup and they took the time to answer any questions we had. We knew once we got the pup, we would be bringing him here.
Took our new puppy in for a check up and booster vaccines. Clear instructions, answered all of our questions. Will be back! Edit to say: thanks for the signs outside to direct us to find it, very helpful!
Feels like they only care about to promote their products but nothing else. The Vet suggested my dog to use some medical shampoo and conditioner before they really figured what was going on with my dog, they didn’t even do the skin swap to test. Suggested me to do a $250 blood test to check on my dog’s liver and kidney functions, said the report will be available next day, now it’s been 4 days and no one send me the report yet. I’ve spend almost $600 to check on my dog’s skin conditions and felt that the only treatment she had was the medical shampoo&conditioner. My dog has been visiting here for years but the experience this time was not very impressive.
They have always been very responsive and accommodating for all our needs! They provided great care and service for my cat and dog.
Very friendly and informative staff. Helped me find the proper food to get my cat and explained the options and differences. 10/10 experience
We've just started going to Wellesley Animal Hospital and it has give us every reason to continue coming! The staff are knowledgeable and incredibly responsive and it gives us great reassurance that our pet is being well taken care of. Also 5 stars for their grooming service - Mari is wonderful!
Dr Ma and the staff at WAH have been amazing in their care of my hamsters. Even at the worst of the pandemic when owners were not allowed inside the building, I felt supported and heard and they went over everything with me over the phone. I will absolutely continue to bring my wee ones here!
The staff truly care for their fury clients! We have used them for our regular checks, vaccinations, for the spay and for our grooming needs. We couldn’t be happier. Thanks!
I love this veterinarian. They truely love all of the animals who are under their care and continually go above and beyond to provide the best care possible. There have been so many times where their vets and staff will do outside research to help figure out a difficult case or they will always contact the owner the day after an appointment or even a vaccination to make sure that the animal is ok. They also have a really helpful app to remind you of vaccinations or tick prevention etc. I cannot recommend this vet enough.
If your pet needs urgent medical attention, they won't be there for you. Even if you're a longtime client, they will push you off onto another facility--often to a facility that uses high-pressure scare tactics to wring $500 or more for something very simple to address. We had been with Wellesley for over a decade--but that doesn't matter, as they have pushed us off twice. They are also super expensive. Within the last two years, prices have gone up exponentially. They charge twice as much for teeth cleaning as our vet in the States. Why? Any time you visit this facility for anything--no matter what--you can expect a big bill. They seem to have lost their early love for pets and the people who have them. We won't be going back.
Great experience as a first time kitten owner. The front staff was very helpful and professional. Dr. Nicole answered all our questions and concerns thoroughly and patiently. After the visit, our kitten was calm and playful (even after receiving his first vaccine). In nutshell, it was a very pleasant, informative and helpful experience for a first time kitten owner and the kitten himself :D Great location too. Right across Subway entrance and Green P parking lot COVID Review: They follow social distancing and mask policies very well. Dr. Nicole talked to us over the phone and answered all our questions.
Aside from being incredibly expensive I have found very basic care given here. My dog was quite sick and I listed the symptoms to the receptionist who acknowledged the danger yet no appointment was offered and I was turned away because they are “busy”. If my dog needs a medical assessment should you not find room? Perhaps bump a run of the mill check up to ensure the health and safety of my dog who is ill. I will never return to this clinic and will share this experience with anyone who cares to listen. I am shocked this is how this clinic runs and other patients should exercise caution when coming here. UPDATE: I desperately needed medication for my dog today (September 14, 2021) and they refused to fill the prescription. I have nowhere else to go and because I left an honest review previously they have now told me they "don't feel comfortable" filling the prescription. My dog is sick and they just refused to help. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. The response given by Jen at this location is completely incorrect. This clinic should be ashamed of their behaviour. Yes, I did provide a negative review because they were all facts. I came back out of desperation because my dog needed medication and Jen turned me away specifically because of the review. She took no ownership for her clinic's poor care and declined to help my sick dog. Absolutely shocking behaviour. Jen then continued to argue publicly on one of a slew of negative reviews listed for this business. Bedside manner is everything, even for pets. This "business" is only interested in profit and not the wellbeing of the pets. Please be careful when going to this location. I normally would let this go but not when it comes to the health and safety of animals who depend on us to care for them.
Had an appointment for a regular check up. I was told to wait outside because of covid. That's fine for me. I waited outside for 15 minutes! My cat was freezing. Their staff went in and out so many times, but never bother to ask if I needed anything or if I could put my cat inside first. This is so unprofessional! One of the staff was eating and chatting with another staff. Really?! This is how you treat your customer. One of my friends told me not to go to this place before when I was looking for a close by animal hospital. Now I see why. I DO NOT recommend anyone go to this hospital! Unless of course, you don't mind your cats/dogs freezing outside for 15+ minutes.

One of my friends told me not to go to this place before when I was looking for a close by animal hospital. Now I see why. I DO NOT recommend anyone go to this hospital! Unless of course, you don't mind your cats/dogs freezing outside for 15+ minutes.
Every single person at this office is amazing! We adopted a doggo with heartworm, and Wellesley Animal Hospital has been so incredibly kind and helpful. I've had many questions about the heartworm disease, the medication, the process, even …
I recently moved to the area and hadn't found a new vet yet. My kitty was showing signs of sickness and I knew she needed to get checked out. I looked at the reviews for this clinic first and they convinced me to book an appointment with them. I'm really pleased with the care of Dr. Emily Yu. She was thorough and kind. She is extremely knowledgeable and provided resources for at home care while waiting for test results. The staff members I interacted with during curbside pick up and drop off were all polite and friendly. I'm glad I found them! Definitely sticking with them.
I brought my injured and frightened cat, Pinot, to Wellesley Animal Hospital after she had been viciously attacked by a neighbour's dog. Dr. Ma was gentle and sympathetic and helped her back to good health. Dr. Ma was not our regular vet and this was our first visit but I switched my cat's total care to her after this because I was very impressed by ( and grateful for) the level of care and compassion. The service we received during Dr. Ma's maternity leave was equally good and keeps us coming back.
The staff is very caring and provided good service when I took my cat there. It is a rather difficult place to reach if you're driving since the entrance is in a small alley, there are sometimes many customers there which clogs the lane but only a small issue.
Wellesley Animal Hospital called me to bring Simba for an early appointment in March with his vet, instead of initial due date in April. I brought Simba today and the receptionist goes super fast with the list of things they will do for him and she goes: "Your total will be 700". I asked for more details on the procedures and treatments, and I had some questions regarding his past treatments, and she seemed to be annoyed, and goes: "Well I don't have access to his past treatment and history". How is that even possible and professional? I am not comfortable dealing with staff prescribing my pet treatments and procedures, who don't even bother checking on his history. I emailed the hospital several times before telling them that Simba has an issue with Advantix, he always had diarrhea when taking it. Yet the receptionist/vet described it again for me! When the vet called me she was informative at the beginning, but then when I asked her why did you prescribe Revolution in November, December and January, if you are saying there is no need for it during these months? She answered "I don't know I wasn't his doctor then", and she seemed to be annoyed and doesn't want to look into that. She responded that Simba was a puppy hence they were giving him ticks & fleas prevention treatment on a monthly basis given that his weight was changing. But that wasn't my question! She always kept changing answers to avoid admitting negligence from their part. Then I asked her why isn't his vet treating him? And she goes we are 4-5 vets here and we treat different pets, and I said but the appointment was scheduled on the basis that his vet is treating him. And she goes you are interrupting me, and not letting me talk, and tells me I'm being disrespectful!!!! I told her but I am the client here and I have the right to talk as well. And she says I'm taking this to my manager, and hangs up on me! I call them to pick up Simba and then the receptionist goes can I tell you something? I said no, this ends here! Yet, she goes and tells me you need to be respectful to the doctor the next time! Excuse me? It is the doctor who offended me by calling me disrespectful and hanging up on me! I'm taking my business elsewhere!
This hospital is amazing! They have such caring staff, they took the time to explain the medication, multiple staff members reached out to ensure we were looked after. It feels as if all those who work there care about the animals more than we do.
It’s a good clinic overall, but way too expensive! Also, they are not accommodating at all. I told many times I couldn’t bring my pet before 5pm due to my work and they charged me $15 because I’ve arrived 15min late even though I called in …
I have been with Wellesley Animal Hospital before and after they moved locations and I am continually impressed with the degree of professionalism and dedication they have when it comes to providing care for my pet. My cat has an array of issues and I feel like he is in really good hands every time we visit, which is often.
I am the grandmother of Jonathan. My experience with the Wellesley Animal Hospital has been eye opening. Lately I was going to adopt another dog, found out he was already 14 yrs old and asked Dr. John to take a look at him. He did and was very frank and advised a few thousand dollars would have to come with the dog. This probably saved me a lot of hardship. I also departed with the knowledge that it is most important to look after yourself before you take on the responsibility for a pet. Even painful at the time it was t good advise. I would recommend the Animal Hospital any time if somebody is adopting a pet or is new to the area. Staff are very helpful and hard working. I am always grateful they way they looked after my late dog Kelsey. Thank you.
I took my 1 year old golden retriever for vaccines and physical examination. After Haru was done, Dr. Fiona called me to tell me her findings in detail. She also answered my questions with patience and that's what I really liked about her. She really made me feel comfortable and I felt that I could really trust her with Haru. After Haru got her vaccines, she was panting a lot so I called them and they told me to come in quickly for some benadryl. They also kept her for 15 minutes to monitor her. I really appreciated their fast response and action to make sure Haru was okay. One of the reasons why I switched my vet was because they didn't really care to explain nor call for follow up when Haru was having issues. So I was looking for a clinic or vet that would take their time to answer or explain my concerns thoroughly without rushing. Even though Haru was only in for vaccines, I'm so happy that Haru was handled by Dr. Fiona and her team.
They are always so friendly and treat my pup Riley very well. She is never nervous to go for her checkups because she knows she is in good hands.
We just adopted a cat and Wellesley Animal Hospital is our first vet. They made the experience very seamless and safe. Their website is very easy to use and they were very communicative throughout the process. They were very kind and understanding of the multitude of questions we had. Very appreciative of their guidance and help! Would highly recommend!
Vet and nurse are super nice and patient, and the price is reasonable. I wish the human doctors can be like this as well. Lol
We've had nothing but great experiences during our visits to Wellesley Animal Hospital. The staff are very knowledgable and go out of their way to help their patients. We've been to the clinic for both emergency and routine visits and in all cases they've been honest and up front about what the treatment plan is, what is necessary for my dog, and what the total cost will be. I'm very thankful to have found Wellesley Animal Hospital!
We just recently arrived to Toronto, My dog fall in home while we are doing Isolation , I call Wellesley Animal Hospital and they gave me a PERFECT and EXCELLENT support with quick response and very profesional service. Without any doubt I will be in their hands again. Many thanks
The hospital treats my cat with lots of care and attention and they are super responsive to all my concerns and provide me with helpful solutions!
I brought my old sick kitty here and the team has truly turned her health around. The vet checks back regularly to see how she's doing, and the team is very accommodating and helpful. I also love their app!
Wellesley animal hospital was amazing with my foster dog. They’re so friendly and patient and how amazing that they are helping tons of rescue dogs get the vetting they need. Definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in the area.
Staff and technicians were very kind and helpful so i was hoping to make this hospital as my primary hospital but unfortunately my experience with dr.Pilar wasn't very great. During most of the consultations, i got the impression that my opinions were often not respected and were ignored, so i felt like i couldn't make any decision on my own for my 14yr old dog (or at least discuss 'together' about other treatment possibilities). When contacted several times about some concerning issues while on the treatment instructed by the doctor, it was almost impossible to reach the doctor and i was later told that i need to pay extra $30? for a short phone-consultation if i want to speak directly with the doctor. (I think their general pricing is also quite high..) The technicians were on the other hand very helpful and caring so i'm very thankful for that. I understand it can be hard to take care of every client in detail if the hospital is always fully booked, but because of this reason i decided that this hospital is not right for my old dog with CHF who needs more careful and sometimes immediate care when needed. And maybe not this doctor if you have an old dog with heart disease because i felt that our dog's heart issue was never considered when making treatment plans.. i thought i might lose my dog soon if i continue following such aggressive treatments so i had to change hospital in the end. I soon moved to another hospital and here i feel that both doctors and technicians are always there to listen to me and help my dog in the best possible ways so i'm really happy i found the right place eventually.
My cat Moonlight has been with Wellesley Animal Hospital since he was just two months old. (He's four now!) He has been received the most professional, friendly and responsible care from …
I appreciated the level of professionalism with the concern for my pet. They walked me through the invoice and helped me select the choices I wanted to.
Dr. Tara P. was incredible. Was a pleasure to speak to and gave us a bunch of tips to help in watching over our new puppy Stevie’s growth. Undoubtedly will be coming back to Dr. Tara.
Took my little puppy for grooming only. Staff are very friendly, caring, accommodating and understanding. They took my puppy in for grooming when he was having a hard time clearing an infection completely and needed nail trimming... They were very careful with him, very clean and did what's best for my furry family member. It's clear he feels happy and comfortable after his sessions. Thanks to the team and specifically Mari for taking good care of him.
Dr. Pilar was extremely helpful (and accurate) in diagnosing our puppies condition. We were very grateful to bring him home in a much improved state. Dr. Pilar was very thorough and always took her time in addressing our questions. It was easy for us to understand his course of treatment, every step of the way. I feel that our puppy is in good hands while under the care of the entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital.
Wellesley Animal Hospital has been taking great care of my furbaby for almost 7 years. Dr. Ma especially is an amazing veterinarian who really puts you and your pet at ease. Can't go wrong with this clinic; everyone on the staff is great!
The staff, technicians, and doctors here are all so friendly and professional, and make you feel like your pet is in safe hands. I am a first time cat owner and they never hesitate to answer any questions or concerns I have had. Over all 10/10 experience would recommend making W.A.H your primary vet office for your pets.
Wellesley Animal Hospital has great doctors and desk staff. They are very accessible as they respond to emailed questions in a timely manner. I also appreciate that they check in after appoints to make sure your animal is doing well, and they send the regular news letter which updates clients on possible pet risks over the coming season. While many reviews say it is expensive, any vet clinic is and you should make yourself aware of the costs before adopting a pet of any kind. Thanks for the great work Wellesley Animal Hospital, PattyLoo says thank you too!
The staff is always really great here, they're very knowledgeable, compassionate and gentle with my cat.
The staff are very attentive and love the furry friends. Molly always comes out happy and fine after a lockdown visit.
TL;DR – will promise you the cheapest prices in the market but you’ll pay a bucketload more at the end, very unprofessional, mildly xenophobic. I needed to get my cat an international health certificate for travel, and got treatment offers from clinics around the downtown area, Wellesley’s was the cheapest by a small margin ($739) and they were close to my place so I decided to go with them. That was a BIG mistake on my part (which ended up costing me more than $1,500). When I first met the vet to administer a rabies shot, she told me that the timeframe between the shot and the blood sample extraction should be 21 days to get good results on the titer exam. After the titer exam results came back the clinic decided to charge additional $145, which was not the first time they tried to charge additional fees. The worst part is that later I was informed by the Mississauga government veterinarian that the exam results are invalid as they were made too early (21 days instead of the required 30 days) and I needed to get a special permission from the vet authorities in the destination country (In which I’m obligated to redo the entire process from scratch and pay ). It should be mentioned If not for the governmental veterinarian efforts in Canada, all this procedure would be in vain and I would be forced to leave my cat behind or cancel my flight. When my wife called to complain about the clinic’s misconduct the receptionist couldn’t stop giggling at her accent (she does have a heavy accent, but it is very unprofessional to ridicule it). In addition to that, they acknowledged that they made a mistake by miscommunicating the wrong price, but wouldn’t take responsibility for their mistake and told me that if I’m not willing to pay the additional $145 then I’m welcome to go to another vet, knowing for a fact that due to their unprofessional treatment, no other vet would agree to sign a health certificate based on Wellesley’s incorrect titer exam. They left me with no other option but to pay them, because the other option is to leave my cat behind in Canada, which I would never do.
I've been thrilled by the care and service so far. The vet I saw (Dr. Fiona) clearly loves her job and was delightful and extremely thorough. Very happy with the way they run things here.
I appreciate the friendly, caring staff at Wellesley. I was squeezed in at the last minute with a very sick dog and was worried about his well-being. The vet was very patient and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. I was very pleased with the service.
Our previous vet was a bit of a trek, so we were delighted to find a vet we loved really close to home. We used to get great care here, and the staff found a way to fit our dog in when she was suddenly quite ill - the sort of care you’d hope for from your pet’s primary care provider. As a result of the good experience, we didn’t hesitate to bring our new puppy here too, and now have two dogs registered with Wellesley. In the last few months, however, it’s been impossible to get an appointment within two full weeks, which is an issue if you have sick pets; and they simply recommend to go elsewhere. We really value continuity of care for our girls, and would love it if Wellesley could see them when they’re sick, rather than just for vaccines and checkups scheduled months in advance. We’ve had to take our girls to places that aren’t their regular vet multiple times in the last few months. After Wellesley punted on our injured puppy and told us to take her to an emergency vet (shout out to the VEC for providing spectacular care!) and delayed responses to follow up questions for ‘her regular vet’, it might be time to start looking for a new vet that doesn’t have too many patients to take care of them when they’re sick. Wellesley provides really great care - if you can get an appointment.
THIS CLINIC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER! It has been almost a year since the passing of my beautiful dog that kept me company for 11 years and only now did I decide to write this review and put the blame onto this Clinic. I brought my dog here when she suddenly collapsed one day at noon. They did not deem it an emergency and told me to wait for 3 hours to see a doctor! In 3 hours I brought her back and the doctor did not seem to take the situation seriously. They injected her with a bag of liquid and sent us home. By the evening seeing no improvements, I took my dog the veterinary emergency centre, where the actual professionals there took it seriously and started testing and figuring out what was wrong. By morning they diagnosed cancer and sent her immediately to the operating room. Now imagine if the doctor at Wellesley Animal Hospital actually did take the situation seriously — perhaps the surgery would have been done sooner. The actual surgery was successful, but my poor dog succumbed to complications in several days. I paid over $12,000 for her treatment and only wish I got a competent assessment sooner. Perhaps she would still be alive. I put the blame on this place. It is unworthy of its reviews to say the least.
I was happy with the experience. They completed the check-up faster because I only allowed an hour before my next booked thing and they accommodated. The Dr. called me to tell me everything that was checked and also advise on few things. She was very inquisitive and I felt like she truly cared for my dog.
The good: Very friendly staff, from reception to technician to vets. Easy to access location: you can park in the car park behind. Efficient online system for booking The bad: They have quite a few young doctors, and it’s quite evident from the interaction that they are inexperienced. The diagnosis tends to be very “by the book” and theoretical.
This was our vet for over a year - not only were they professional and friendly, but they went above and beyond our expectations for a veterinary clinic. They would be able to see us on short notice AND would email to check in with the animals in the days following an appointment. I have never seen this level of care in a vet before - you will not regret choosing Wellesley Animal Hospital as your vet.
Excellent services. Highly prepare professionals. I feel very safe to leave my friends four legged health on their hands. They are super friendly as well. Pretty convenient store and the groomer is fantastic!
love this vet clinic! they are really nice and were very responsible and quick to make smart adjustments to their practice during covid. They are also very good to make sure communication is clear and constant so there's no worries about …
The staff and doctors at Wellesley Animal Hopsital are always so helpful and wonderful when I’m in to bring Nugget in for a visit. He’s usually anxious to see the vet but he’s always treated well here!
Super impressed with our experience to date with Wellesley Animal hospital. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet in Toronto! They always go above and beyond and always follow up and check in on our pup after visits to see how he's doing. Would highly recommend this great vet!
We brought our bunny Mochi (3 months old) here and was taken good care by Dr. Ma. She did a thorough wellness examination on Mochi, answered all of our questions in the call, and provided us with a detailed list of care guides, veggie lists, and neuter options. Highly recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital and Dr. Ma :)
My twelve year old Abysinnian Jack has kidney disease he was very dehydrated and weak. They took him in and took good care of him. I could only pay half for the care he needed but they had excellent payment plans linked to their website to pay the rest. Their exam fee is half of what you'd pay at other downtown Animal Hospitals like VEC and Downtown Animal Hospital. I felt like they really cared for me and especially my boy Jack the cat and the building was new and pleasant. THANK YOU FOR HELPING MY JACK AND NOT GOUGING ME.
Wellesley Hospital staff were very professional, welcoming & provided excellent customer service. Prior to providing any additional treatment to my 7 year old Golden Retriever, I received a call from the Vet who kindly went over everything, informed me on additional pricing (felt no pressure to purchase) of vaccination & broke down the bill so there were so surprises. 5/5 - Would recommend!
this veterinary is simply fantastic. I can't imagine a veterinarian who would display more professionalism than Dr. Ma who we were assigned to. She was so gentle with my little boy who tends to get very nervous when visiting the vet that he so much not even said a peep. As he requires constant care for his condition, Dr. Ma mapped up a very well detailed game plan proceeding forward with more than easy to follow instructions both in written and E-Mailed format that included the necessary charges/billing to give an informed overview. The clinic itself couldn't be anymore pristine and clean and well layed out. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming and make you feel at home. Your pet(s) are definitely in great hands if taken here and they treat them like their own. Saying I highly recommend this place would be an understatement.
Excellent experience with our foster dog! The Dr took the time to explain everything to me and was very calm and gentle with the dog. She was extremely nervous and wouldn’t even walk. The The nursing staff was great at carrying her everywhere and at assisting as well with the Dr. The office and store was squeaky clean and had a variety of products to choose from. 100% will go back!
It’s about time that I write a review after taking my Boston Terrier, Piper, to this clinic for six years. This is a fabulous veterinary facility. I am a very *discerning* (yeah, let’s go with that instead of picky lol) client and the team consistently meets and exceeds my expectations. Dr. Ma is in particular an outstanding veterinarian who has a wonderfully calm bedside manner and she really puts my anxious dog at ease. She is overly cautious which I love and never rushes Piper into an aggressive treatment or expensive diagnostic test unless it is necessary. She also always takes time to discuss costs and various options for treatment. I never leave without feeling like I have a solid plan in place to make sure that Piper will be feeling her best in no time. The staff are generally polite, helpful and patient and on one occasion there was a mix-up with the dosage that Piper required and one of the clinic staff drove the extra medicine to our house as it was on her way home. We have left the neighbourhood but refuse to switch vets because we are so happy here. Can’t wait to check out the new clinic when Piper is in for her annual exam and vaccines in the spring!
These people don't know what they're doing. I visited this place before covid because my dog had severe vomiting for a week, unfortunately I couldn't get an opening at my usual vet and I saw some great reviews here so I decided to pick this place. They checked him and told me that the food he's getting was bad and I should switch for a more expansive brand, which I did. 3 weeks ago the vomiting started again and I went to my regular vet, and he told me that the dog was exposed to some kind of poison, probably rat poison, that caused the vomiting. The vet also told me that the food has nothing to do with his situation, so I switched back to his regular food and made sure that he's not picking up food in the street, and then the vomiting stopped. Not only this place is a waste of money, they also missed the real reason why this was happening.
Nice experience.quickly response and good advice.thanks your professional service.
My spay with my puppy Cava went extremely well. The staff were always responsive and timely. Dr. Pawliwec did an exceptional job with Cava's spay and helped when I had questions/concerns following the surgery. 5 out of 5!
I would like to recommend WAH to every pet owner in DT. I have searched for several days to find a regular vet for my cat Sushi. I finally picked WAH since it has very convenient location, friendly staff and reasonable price. My first visit here was very pleasant. Dr. Mellisa explained every detail and answered all my questions. WAH may be not the cheapest vet in Toronto, but it is definitely a great vet that offers good service with very reasonable price.
I always have a positive experience at Wellesley Animal Hospital. My male dog, Bebop, has been visiting Dr. Ma since he was a puppy and pulls me to the door any time we're in the area. I appreciate how much they seem to care about Bebop, even the support staff, and how he's treated like he's precious, which he is to me! His teeth sparkle now after his dental cleaning.
I've had my fair share of questionable visits to other clinics in the area where I thought I was being taken advantage of for the purpose of up-selling. But I can confidently say I've had the most pleasant of visits over the past year at Wellesley Animal Hospital. Most recently, Dr. Pilar assisted in helping clear up my dog's skin issues. After each assessment I've engaged in conversations with open communication and complete transparency. While of course I try to do my due diligence in researching and understanding any treatments and prescriptions being suggested - I am also grateful that I've never felt pressured into purchasing anything that wasn't immediately necessary. Although the Wellesley Animal Hospital has increasingly gotten busier overtime, I feel that it's a true testament to how many pet owners choose to come here because they trust that their pets are in good hands.
Amazing! The entire staff takes such good care of our little puppy! He always comes back perfectly calm and happy :)
Very good care for my cat Misty. Very reliable and trustworthy services. Very professional and reliable. Excellent care for Misty and very satisfied.
The new office is beautiful and the staff is always super friendly
We really love it here. The receptionist is friendly and very thorough, the most thorough I've seen from any vet clinic. Dr. Peterson was also very patient with us, answering all of our questions, even multiple times. She didn't push unnecessary services/medications on us. She wanted us to feel comfortable about our choices and I really respect that from a vet!
We had an absolutely wonderful first experience at Wellesley Animal Hospital. The staff were all wonderful. Dr Ma was exceptionally lovely - I felt she really cared and took the time to explain and chat with me about the best way to care for our pet. Would highly recommend this clinic for anyone looking for top quality care for their pet.
Incredible staff - from front desk to back of house. I completely trust these folks to give my pets compassionate and thorough care every time we visit. Reasonably priced, especially for a downtown vet.
Two reviews from me in quick secession, because I just posted (reposted?) an old 2019 review, from when we brought in Mimsy the Magnificent for a check up last year. Yesterday it was Percy's turn for vet care. I was really impressed with the excellent care we received at Wellesley Animal Hospital thorough, kind, and courageously determined. I hope that Percy's great new hair cut will resolve his sensitivity problems.
The vet and staff are excellent and attentive. They took care of our foster dog (now our dog!). The clinic is also very well located. If you're in downtown, I strongly recommend them.
Love this place for my pet. My puppy had an unusual circumstance and every single staff has helped us along the way. They are there to answer your questions and work with you in the most flexible way. Thank you again and see you on our next visit!
I registered their Santa Photo shoot today at 10:15 and literally they called me at 10:05 saying it was cancelled due to Covid worsening situation. I totally understand that for Covid. However, it's a decision you made and not any …
I’m very pleased with the exceptional and friendly service my dog receives at the clinic
The staff at the Wellesley Animal Hospital are kind and attentive to my very nervous cat. I always have her nails clipped there as they know how to calm her down and get the job done. Great caring staff for your pet.
We took our newly adopted pup, Cali, in after she had some vomiting incidents. We were very concerned, as new paw-rents, by what we saw and wanted to get her in ASAP. Wellesley Animal Hospital was kind enough to fit us in same day and was able to accommodate when Cali was late (distracted by squirrels). The vet was great - very kind and answered all our questions. She made sure we knew that we were doing a great job and the vomiting was just part of dog life. We really appreciated her no BS approach and the fact that she made the appointment about Cali's best interest an didn't try to up-sell us on anything. We will 100% be back for Cali's annuals and any emergency. Thank you so much for making Cali's first vet appointment positive and informative!
All the staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are incredibly friendly and helpful. I've brought my hedgehog in a couple of times, and had a very good experience with Dr. Young. She is very thorough with her examination and addressed any concerns that I had. I definitely recommend bringing your furry friends here!
I have been bringing my bunnies to Dr. Ma and the team for years. They are kind, caring and knowledgeable. You couldn't find a better place to care for your fur babies. <3
I decided to try Wellesley Animal Hospital this year and I could not be happier! Everyone there is warm and kind and friendly! You can see that they truly love the animals that they work with and they don’t rush you, they take their time and listen to all your questions and concerns and try to help you in every capacity possible. I have two ferrets and this veterinarian office has done a wonderful job with them! They approach the animals with love and kindness and are gentle and patient, working with them and taking the time to ensure my pets comfort. I’m a ‘Helicopter mom’ at the vet and I watch over everything that goes on, always. I have nothing but positive words to speak about Wellesley Animal Hospital, not only are they great with my pets but I’ve seen the way they interact with other people’s pets (even when the pets owner wasn’t there) and it has always been amazing! Based on my experience so far you can rest assured that when your pet is at this place they’re receiving quality service and being treated with love and compassion! After having had multiple very negative experiences at a nearby veterinary office with my prior ferret I decided to switch and try a different place this time around and it was the best decision I ever made! Thank you to everyone at Wellesley Animal Hospital, keep up the amazing work! Its very hard to find a good vet for exotic animals (ferrets in my case) let alone one that’s easily accessible at any hour (ie 24hour emergency services) so if I could give one piece of constructive criticism it would be please extend your hours to offer 24 hour emergency care, we need people like you! Especially in moments of crisis. Nonetheless they have good ‘regular hours’ and do a great job ! Very happy with this place!
I love taking my rabbit BunBun here for his veterinary care. The new place is great but a little confusing to find (behind Yonge). The team are so kind and have been a great support to us for over a year. As rabbits are "exotic" animals it is hard to find rabbit-savvy vets in the downtown core but here, he is very well cared for. During this pandemic, I appreciate the thought put into safely caring for my bunny. Easy and safe hand-off. Highly recommend!
About two years ago, my husband and I were looking for a new vet when we'd moved to the city. I asked people, and did a lot of checking online, took location somewhat into consideration, and put Wellesley Animal Hospital at the top of my list. Am I ever glad I did! My pup receives the most mindful, detailed and compassionate care. Updates on her health are specific, helpful, collaborative, and so quick. Staff at the office are super efficient and always friendly. And permeating this practice is the love of critters. What more could anyone ask for?
The team at Wellesley Animal Hospital were a dream!! Their communication was top tier: professional, friendly, informative and I truly felt like my cat was top priority. Having a newborn at home and a pet needing medical attention should have been more stressful, but I felt as though my fur baby was in good hands and I was able to relax (as much as a sleep deprived parent can ????). I will stay at this hospital for as long as I am still living in this city!!
My Emma gets groomed at Fluffytails grooming at Wellesley Vet. She always comes out looking great and happy.
Firstly, a very convenient location in downtown Toronto. The staff have been consistently excellent and professional, and have gone that extra mile towards the care of my cats. When I had to make the awful decision to let my cat Charlie go, they were very supportive and understanding. Highly recommend this location for the care of your pets. I have also found them comparable in price to that of Blue Cross which I used for years, before I left the area.
Amazing vet clinic that truly encapsulates what it means to love the work that you do and love the animals that you care for. Wellesley Animal Hospital's vets and assistants have been taking care of our kitten, Olive, since we first adopted …
I took my two cats there for the first time and felt so welcome by Dr Ma and the crew. They immediately took my cat who does not travel well and was covered in drool and vomit upstairs to be cleaned with a smile, and made my other squirmy cat who is not used to the vet comfortable for a blood draw. Glad to hear they’re both doing well! Can’t wait to see the new place.
They made my chihuahua puppy so fearful on our second visit. The male staff came down to take my puppy to see the doctor by dragging her. While I was there watching! I have to remind him to be nice to her and pick her up. Some of the staff just really don’t care about the animals they are handling. Really bad experience.
You seem to be very compassionate. Also respond quickly to questions; most of the time. You treat your animals with love and compassion. My dog Anjie came back happy from her grooming session. Also was impressed with doctor given me medical information. So far so good
I love this vet! They gave my cat the best possible care. Everyone is really friendly, and I appreciate how they don’t pressure you to pay for expensive care but rather give you various options for addressing your concerns. Jenn who works here is also an excellent pet sitter! Would highly recommend!
The staff at Wellesley are friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to answer questions and evidently care about the animals they treat a great deal. They monitored my cat, free of charge, for several hours after she appeared to be experiencing an adverse reaction to a vaccine. Would recommend.
WAH is amazing and I highly recommend if you live downtown Toronto! I've taken my two fur babies to them for over 4 years and they always make both me and my cats feel welcome and comfortable. The brand new location is beautiful, although the entrance is a little tricky to find the first time. All the staff are wonderful but I have to give a special thank you to Amie and Dr. Ma for taking such great care of my girls!
I am a first-time cat owner who recently took my cat Chloe here. I initially called because my cat had some eye irritation (which mostly cleared up the day of the appointment). The staff were very responsive and booked an appointment for me the next day. I have a very anxious (former) rescue cat who doesn't like strangers, especially the vet. Unfortunately, we could not complete all of her check-up due to my cat's behavior. This made me feel awful, as I would not want any of their staff to be injured as a a result of my cat's behavior. I sincerely appreciate Wellesley Animal Hospital's patience (especially Dr. Yu) in dealing with my cat. They prescribed her some anti-anxiety medication to take before her next appointment. I hope my cat will be less anxious next time so she can complete her check-up. Nevertheless, I would still recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital. They were very kind and professional!
Great staff. Friendly and efficient!
Staff are always happy to help and really supportive, and will answer any questions you have as best they can. They are kind, and thoughtful and have my pets best interest at heart. I feel confident when I have to leave her (my cat) with them as during covid it's only drop off and pick up.
