Brought my dog in because he was very sore and tender on the side, the vet started feeling around and he growled because he was in pain. She actually SMACKED him and yelled at him. If she was a MAN I would have knocked him out !!! What kind of VET treats an animal like that. I will not name names.. but you know who you are and should should find a job making french fries !! I reported her and all they said was...Oh she wouldn't do that !! I had his files sent to another vet IMMEDIATELY. My dog is like a child to me.

We have two dogs, an ageing German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky mix. Throughout the years and a few moves we've had several different veterinarians and have had, overall, unremarkable experiences. Not amazing, not bad. Since moving near Lively and starting with Walden Animal Hospital I've been thoroughly impressed by the staff and the care my pups are getting. Reception staff, technicians, and the doctor's I've encountered so far have all been amazing. Friendly, skilled, and fair. I've never felt as though I'm getting taken advantage of, pressured into something of questionable merit, etc. Options for assessment and treatment have always been reviewed in great detail, typically with written materials provided to support my own learning. Plenty of time is offered to ask questions and get answers. Plus, and for me this is one of the most confidence inspiring bits of all, when the answers aren't available right then and there, these folks admit it and work to find them. Then they actually call back and discuss what they've learned. I love this! I don't know that I've ever reviewed an animal hospital before but want others to know that my experience here has been terrific. I'd certainly recommend anybody check this place out if in need of a vet.

Tried to phone for a quick question was an impossible task, they returned our calls several hours later during the conversation they abruptly hung up...no idea they never phoned back to finish our question. Guess they have enough business with out ours, go figure.

My dog Luke (on the right in the photo)had an injury while we were renting a cottage in Killarney on labor Day weekend. Luckily the clinic was open on the holiday Monday and they were able to take Luke in and then give him great treatment. An x-ray and some painkillers later, Luke was on the road to recovery. There is not a single thing more that I could possibly ask from the Walden Animal Hospital. They went out of their way to call me multiple times to update me on my dogs surgery, I felt informed and confident the entirety of the experience. They made me feel at home when dropping off and picking up my pup, they also went the extra mile when personalizing all the paperwork and overall making me and my girlfriend feel like my pup was in the hands of genuinely caring people. We received an incredibly detailed report after the procedure which made us feel confident with the aftercare. The pricing was very fair, and it did not take long to be booked in for the procedure. I will recommend this place very highly to my friends, family and anyone who needs pet care.

My dog has been to the Walden Animal hospital for 2 check ups/ yearly shots. Something about the vets here is just off putting the last young asian lady tried to tell me that because of her insistence the came up with a secondary pill to give out with revolution ...pft yeah right take credit for other peoples work. Every word out of her mouth was yelled and not in a normal tone of voice, she also seemed more interested in telling me how much she knew than actually paying attention to my dog. The visits easily cost me $200 more for the exact same service and revolution dosages down south. The place itself is odd its done up nicely but feels awkward and unfriendly, no one makes small talk or even says it will only be a few more minutes.... they are never on time both visits I have had to wait at least half an hour past my appointment time. At my old vets the Vet would actually come out of the room and walk you to the counter and say good bye to me and my dog etc ...this place they just take off out the back door and have a vet tec take your money and try to con you into paying for a heart worm test...its all a cash grab. I miss my old vet so much and think its time to look around for something better for my best friend.

Walden Animal Clinic tells me I have an appointment to bring a dog in for check up I do not have this dog I do not know its name I've never seen this dog as a joke I told him if you tell me where I can find is dog I will be more than glad to bring it to you after three conversations they are still sending me voicemail telling me I have an appointment for Monday. I think that they should not be recommended to take care of your pet on one of my receipts I have a picture of a dog named crunch which passed away last year but it was cash I brought in for check up last year on the records for my dog cash apparently he had been in in April and got treatment I had never gone in at that time I told him this but this still left this on the record the same as a dog that I do not own is in for an appointment Monday I've told him three times already I do not have this dog I don't know what dog it is but you still leave it on my file with this in mind how do I know my dogs are getting the proper needles are medication as they cannot even document events properly they have lost me as a customer after 15 years

I’m beyond disappointed by the service I received from the receptionist tonight. I called Walden Animal Hospital after a recommendation from one of my patient’s. I spoke with the receptionist regarding my sick 10 week old puppy and explained to her that I was initially going to register my puppy with another vet, however, was now considering their clinic as well. She laughed at me multiple times on the phone, was very judgemental, and provided false information regarding my puppy’s vaccinations by stating I would need to restart the vaccinations from the beginning, instead of going through with the 12 week vaccines. Needless to say, I called there in hopes of doing what was best for my puppy, but what I realized after being disrespected and mocked, is that is NOT choosing Walden Animal Hospital.

My husband and I have been with Walden Animal Hospital for many years. They will do ANYTHING for your pet. They care deeply for animals and it is comforting knowing they are in good (honest) hands. We have also used their boarding services for our dog and again, they are amazing. It is reassuring knowing they are boarded at a vet and that if anything were to happen, they would have immediate care.

On 07/07/21 I needed to make an emergency appointment for my cat Smokey. I called and was referred to Walden Animal Hospital in Lively. Smokey had no vet, no up to date shots and took her with no hesitation to have her checked out. The staff who helped me at Walden were very informative about her condition and were very friendly. Unfortunately, 2 days later on July 9th we had to put our beloved Smokey to rest due to her health conditions.. Walden was good for all 3 of us when it came to say our last goodbyes. I love you soo much Smokey, may you rest peacefully. xoxo

This clinic is all about the money. We have had a very sick dog since fall, and they have no clue. We are up over 2500 in fees, and they still do not know , want to keep trying this. Then the Hills recall we had a case with numbers and Hills confirmed recall and the Vet actually said oh no our techincian said your not on recall because the case you bought was good..least to say lost my s**t and cannot believe how ignorant this clinic is minus girls at the front...go elsewhere worth it for your pet. The owner is not in it for the animals , and they say a dog is not worth a price we know that but they know nothing and just want to keep sucking money out of ppl..was warned about this

I have had both amazing visits and frustrating visits yet still love going to Walden. Our cat is 18 and has had various issues over the years, when he became diabetic walden staff was awesome helping me get a handle on it and getting his pancreas working and him off insulin. Our dog recently went into and Addison's crisis and Walden was so supportive to get her back to her normal self, answered all my crazy questions and made sure my baby was very well taken care of while she was in their care for 48 hours. it did take a long time to get the right answer but that is just part of the puzzle. Staff is always polite, happy, caring and helpful.

We had the extremely heartbreaking task of putting our beloved family dog to rest a few days ago. As a 11+ year old Olde English bulldog, he lived a full and happy life, but what a difficult decision. As always, the staff at Walden were incredible. Our vet tech (sorry, don't recall your name) was very compassionate, and explained the process in detail, helping us along the way. Dr. Carolyn Larivierre was also amazing as always, keeping spirits in the room up, and making sure his last moments were happy and upbeat. While all of my dealings with Walden in the past have been amazing, this one, despite the circumstances, was truly appreciated. Thank you all - you're an amazing group. AJ

I have been using Walden Animal Hospital for several years now, in specific Dr Carolyn Lariviere...she is an absolute genius dealing with pets...She solved my older dogs problem in one visit when he was sick after us seeing a different clinic for six months...After that, every time our dog was sick, Carolyn gave him the best care and always solved his problem and made him better...We now have a new puppy, who is having some health issues, and although Dr Lariviere is very busy, I am confident that again she will solve our new puppies health issues and bring him back to good health...We are very fortunate to have this Animal Hospital..

I have a diabetic dog and a senior with arthritis. I have been bringing my dogs to Walden for a little over a year. My diabetic needs to have tests done every 3 months to track his sugar levels, and we just started bringing our senior in for laser therapy. Not only do I find the staff to be friendly, caring, and knowledgeable, their prices are also very reasonable. My dogs are happy to be at Walden. You can really tell when an animal hospital is about the pet first.

The team at Walden Animal Hosptial handled my cat's medical emergency professionally and, as far as I can tell now, with a postive outcome. Before I was able to get him into the vet, Archer was vomiting on and off for 16 hours and had become severely dehydrated. I suspected my cat had eaten something inedible, as he had done this in the past. Unbeknownst to me, Archer had eaten a hard plastic foreign object, which he was unable to vomit up or pass. He was in a lot of distress and without treatment he likely would have died in the next few days. Initially, I brought him to a local vet for diagnosis, which is where I found out that there was an object lodged in the bottom of his stomach blocking the entry to his intestines. They said they wanted to do an exploratory laparotomy (cut his abdomen open) to remove the object from his stomach and check the length of his instestines for blockages. They had explained to me that the xray did not indicate any sign of intestinal blockage and I felt uncomfortable with the laparotomy if the object could be safetly removed with an endoscope. I asked if it was possible to be referred to a clinic where there was a scope available. Subsequently, I was referred to Walden Animal Hospital. The Doctor was able to see my pet the next day and remove the object from his stomach with the endoscope without complications in 2 hours and I was able to take him home in 2.5 hours. The 6 hour round trip and the cost of the treatment was well worth it as my cat seems almost fully recovered only one day later. Archer is drinking, eating, going to the washroom and acting more normal - I expect a full recovery. As a health care professional myself, I am extremely thankful to the knowledeable Doctor and her team for being able to save my cat without any incisions, stitches or a protracted healing period.

This place is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about it. Very recently my dog had a bit of an emergency and had to go for surgery to have two teeth removed and I was amazed at the level of care she received while she was there. We went for the consultation and I had called ahead because my dog really isn't good with other animals and they were very reassuring and accommodating to me and said they would make sure the coast was clear for us to come into the waiting room and trust me it made the visit far less stressful for my dog. The vet that came to see us in the room was so kind to my pup and made sure that my dog was completely comfortable with her before she started the examination. Not only that but she made sure to be very descriptive during the examination and made sure we understood everything she was saying. On the day of the surgery I had received several updated on how my dog was doing, how the procedure went, how her recovery was going, when I could pick her up etc.. it really calmed my nerves to know how she was doing the whole day and not have to wait till pick up time to know. Even when I went to pick my dog up they made sure they took me through step by step exactly what they did so I understood it completely and they gave me a full personalized package for our instructions and to once again describe exactly what was completed in the surgery with images and everything!! Even while my dog was under they gave her a really good teeth cleaning and they cut her nails and everything! it was truly incredible the level of care they provided for my pup and how above and beyond they went for her. I am so so grateful and can't imagine taking my pup anywhere else for her care from here on out. thank you so much Walden Animal Hospital! You guys are a truly amazing healthcare team for furry family members :)

To be fair... I really liked Dr. sues at walden... however... one of the other vets I dealt with I feel kept critical and pertinent medical information from me in order to benefit financially (large mass and 25% weight loss which they knew ahead of time but didnt share this info with me) I feel this was in order to gain financially... which is wrong in my opinion! (doing an elective but costly surgery same day) the tech called and apologized profusely and then the manager said her and the vet felt they did no wrong... I haven't even seen or spoken to the vet ONCE in this entire process.. surgery etc... I NEVER would have done surgery had this medical information been presented beforehand...I would have done a biopsy. I feel it was not their decision to make! read other reviews... there are other stories like mine! YOU CAN CONTACT THE COLLEGE OF VETERNARIANS AND MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AND THEY WILL INVESTIGATE IF YOU FEEL YOUR ANIMAL HAS NOT RECEIVED APPROPRIATE CARE!!! THATS HOW TO MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN!!!!

Was my vet place for over 2 years and was somewhat happy with them, until my dog had a bad limp and for almost 9 months kept bringing her back them telling me to rest her or trying different meds but never fixing it. Then finally getting a new vet that seemed to care (i think it was the owners wife)finally getting her xrays and recommending we take her to a specialist in Toronto for surgery. Before going to Toronto my wife asked the vet if the vet in espanola did this leg surgery she told her NO he does not and told me the same, she new we just had newborn and I was in school so it was hard for me to go away and money was tight and I was given the run around in Toronto(but that was not walden's fault) when I got back I called espanola vet and was told they do the surgery i got a email all about the condition my dog had the same day I contacted them and I met with them and the service was so much better than walden I got the surgery all within 2 weeks of meeting him. The last straw was when the vet at walden lied to me twice (i should have never taken her word but I thought I could trust her)when this problem with my dog could have been taken care of much faster than the 9 months I wasted and money I spent there. So not impressed and will never go back or recommend them to anyone!!!

Whoever answered the phone this week was very rude and sarcastic. My vet had emailed over a prescription for my cat. My cat has been on semintra for over 4 years as she has kidney failure. Due to covid 19 most if not all clinics have no semintra in stock and it is on back order for months. I called Walden to see if they had any in stock I could purchase. My cat needs this medication to live. I explained my vet emailed them a prescription. The lady said " I dont know if we have any and I dont know if I can help you. Are you sure you cant go to your vet? They are open today." Are you kidding me? Yes in sure they are out if her medication. Because Walden is not my vet and I am willing to spend money at your business does that give you a reason to treat me like garbage? The lady said she would look into it and get back to me..but of course they never did. Thanks Walden!
