Now the business has a score of 4.3 over 5 and that rating is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is quite positive, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we may think that the score is very credible. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

I moved to the south end recently and wanted to find a new vet close to my house. I have gone here with two of my dogs. First was with my diabetic dog who was in hyperglycaemic shock. After several times dealing with the same situation I knew she was suffering and I was prepared to do what was best and have her put down. After being rudely lectured by "dr" Sra (never met such a uncaring mean person in my life as this guy) I agreed to have her treated instead as he insisted she wasn't beyond saving. A half hour after I left her to be saved, Sra called and said she should be put down. After holding my little dog as she passed I was then charged over $900 for tests and treatment that were done apparently in the half hour I had left her there to be saved. Sra is rude and only in it for the money. I took my other dog there a month or so later. Figured I would try another vet other than Sra. My dog was favouring a leg. I knew she had tripped outside and most likely it was just a bit sore. I saw a different vet. dr Guinn. I think was her name. I expected a physical exam and then go home with some pain killers. She wanted to run a bunch of tests said she suspected it was more than just a sore leg. X-rays and blood work. Not sure what blood was going to tell them about a sore leg but I'm not a vet. Anyways I trusted her to know best. In the end it was a sore leg. Prescribed some pain killers and steroids to reduce swelling. $500 later. Never used the steroids and felt like a sucker again. Never going back there. They are only in it for money. My mother-in-law has had similar experiences with her dog there.
I have had nothing but awesome service with friendly and happy staff. They took my boy in to have a look at his eye, even though they were fully booked. Southglen has gone over and beyond to make sure my Mouse is doing well. A little …
Their staff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely concerned for the well being of our pets. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.
I've been taking my pets to see Dr Ward for awhile now. Have had nothing but good experiences. She even found my dogs neuter stitches that I was told were dissolving by Dakota Vet (They clearly weren't and he was neutered in June!) Takes you in promptly, are super gentle with my old guy and even suggest some ideas for supplements and the like. Awesome choice
they didn't show me pictures of the urn of the earn i chose and it wasn't as described but thats my fault i guess
Thank you so much to everyone who works here as when I brought in my puppy after she was injured from my other dog biting down on her, they quickly took care of her and made sure she would be okay. I was sent home in a much better mood than when I showed up as they made sure I understood everything they were doing and what precautions to take from now on. I will recommend anyone with pets to come here for not just emergencies but for just regular appointments as well :)
My little buddy Gibson and myself are much appreciative for your awesome hours and great staff. You were able to diagnose his eye issue and get him the medication he required. Thanks again!
Visited once with a family pet and then a second time with my own dog, both visits were great. From the front end staff and nurses to the vet, I had a very positive experience with them all. You can tell they all genuinely care about your …
I have never had a bad experience at this office. I have two dogs who see them regularly, both of which have very specific behavioural issues. One fearful, the other potentially (but not always) aggressive with other dogs. Once they got to know my dogs, they began scheduling us at times when there is not likely to be a lot of other animals around, and they always do their best to get us into a room as soon as possible to minimize the potential for stress for my animals. They treat my fearful dog with respect, and are always gentle with her, waiting until she is ready to perform her exam or vaccine. Always lots of treats for her! We had an emergency situation with one of my cats, and they took him in without charging an 'emergency' fee, treated him for his problem, and made a point of calling me (when it was my husband who'd given his number) to explain what was going on with him, because they knew how attached Mars and I are to one another. The vet encouraged me to come down and see him, as they wanted to keep him overnight, saying that it would do a lot for both of us. The compassion, knowledge, and over all fun loving atmosphere of this place will keep me coming back forever. No amount of money is too much when it means my animals and I are treated with respect, and nothing has ever felt like it was "too expensive".
These people are the best as far as I'm concerned always willing to answer questions & offer advice. The staff from the front desk to the Vet Tech to the Doctors are always empathetic towards you & your Pet.
Friendly and professional service. I felt like my cats were cared for and what they recommended was truly in their best interest.
Always able to get us in so quickly. Very friendly staff. Sometimes just don't understand the extra tests they want when they don't end up changing the treatment plan for my pet
Staff was very compassionate when my pet was diagnosed with cancer.
After a horrific ordeal with a vet in Portage la Prairie, these folks were a Godsend. They're open late, they explain everything up front, and were very courteous. Their facilities are clean and well stocked. They took care of my cat and he's doing fine now because of these people.
They are so good with our family pet's.????
Convenient hours and great advice.
We've had several emergency and non-emergency visits and on every occassion, Dr's Sra, Litchfield and Guinn have been fantastic to deal with. We found them to be professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and honest. They were more than willing to hear us out, to answer our questions to the best of their ability, to research and consult other Vets to diagnose problems and quite willing to discuss treatment options. In the end, we felt we'd been heard, that they cared and that our pet had been very well looked after. The front end staff are all top notch too. Friendly, patient, helpful and kind. We so appreciate the fact that they're open until midnight every night and that they do their best to fit us in on a moment's notice. Even if you already have a regular Vet and all you need is emergency service, I highly recommend them.
Amazing place so much love and caring from staff
Staff are great, both with animals and people. Prices are very fair. I've had 4 cats as patients at this Vet and good experiences for all.
Staff is friendly. They will provide help immediately up to 10pm which is wonderful. They push unnecessary tests and med on dogs of advanced age. Where palliative care is all that's required. They did overdose my Greyhound on sedative because of their lack of experience with the breed.
I always receive friendly prompt service here. The whole team is warm and welcoming. The prices and the billing is always discussed in length with patience & very well explained prior to any treatments or charges. I have been using Southglen for a few years and the service has always been excellent for me and my dog. I highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic.
We have been taking our dog here for 8 years. Never had to wait to get in for appointment today I called I have to wait 4 days to get in. Now we have another pup their loss. Looking elsewhere today.
Very professional, it was my first vet experience and it couldn't have gone smoother.
Clean environment. Helpful and friendly staff. Always open late.
We weren't clients of the hospital but we had an emergency with our dog Ollie and Southglen was the closest option. We got quick and kind care and we felt very comfortable (and thankful) with the treatment that Ollie got. We even got a follow up phone call a few days later. Thank you to the vet and staff for the love and care taking care of our baby! P.s. Ollie doing well and healing up quickly :)
This place by far is amazing always friendly and care about the animals. The hours are great because they stay open late. They take there time with the animals and explain everything. This is the only place to take you pets my 3 enjoy there yearly visit.
They are gentle and great with all my pets. They are open late and I appreciate not paying emergency fees for late night visits.
Always take great care of our pets. Would highly recommend.
Excellent vet! Didn't feel rushed, very thorough, been going there since they opened and highly recommend.
Been taking my pets here for several years. All the vets are excellent and work with you for a full health plan for your dog. I also buy all my dog food here as they have or can get food for a variety of special needs. The rest of the staff is also top notch!
Took great care of my Little critter.
Brought my baby Pyredoodle for severe diarrhea and they were able to see her in right away. Tests are disclosed to you right away as well as an estimate of the price. Treatment plan was sent quickly as well with your choice to either …
Southglen Veterinary Hospital has been wonderful to us. We took our tabby, dreyfus in for a checkup because he had trouble going to the bathroom. They kept him overnight and fixed him up and he was good to go the next day. The girls are very friendly and when we had to put our other cat down they were very understanding. A good group of people to work with.
The other night we noticed our cat was peeing blood at 7pm, called Southglen at 7:30pm and had an appointment for 9pm! They stayed late to ensure our girl was taken care of. Cheap price of $300 for an examination, ultra sound and 3 medications for her UTI. Last year our dog ate a sock but was unable to pass it. Southglen tried every other option other than surgery (which unfortunately ended up having to do) and they genuinely care about our furry animal member. All the staff genuinely love what they do and put their heart into all their clients and it shows. If we could rate 6/5 we would!
Very nice place to go that is open late, they have saved 2 of my kitties.
They misdiagnosed my dog and got $2500 from me for surgery, meds and tests. I went to another practice and they diagnosed and helped him first try. I wasted money and time at Southglen...they're also more expensive than other clinics.
Great vets, great staff. Open late without the emergency costs!
Very accommodating and willing to work with us on an expensive procedure
i really loves this place. Until the last year or so I had two separate incidents where my dog was injured and they instructed me if I felt it was urgent or conditions changed to come in right away. When I arrived there they wanted to kennel him until they could look at him but had no time to talk to me about his injury. They would assess and put him back in a kennel until the "scheduled time for him to come in" Which to me is ludicrous to leave my pet to be alone in pain in a kennel. When I brought this up the vet was short with me saying she didnt have time to talk to me. Then why would you tell me to come in ASAP if his condition worsened. I happened to move out of town so will not be back as I feel the quality there has changed over the past year or so. If I had not have moved I would have changed vets anyway.I loved them for five years of my animals care. But now they are not worth the extra cost of being there as I felt within the last year my quality of care went down and it was not worth it to stay there and pay more when they have no time to talk to me in the time of need and care of my pet. I will take my money elsewhere. Thank you Southglen for sending me the email to ask for my feedback.
Very kind, compassionate and caring staff.
Great staff, open every time we've needed them, and have been very helpful with our family pets. Cant recommend them enough
Always answer my questions and are very kind
SouthGlen Hospital Drs and staff are fantastic. I had to bring my little buddy Nacho in because he was injured by another dog. Dr. Blankvoord, Dr. Litchfield and techs Jessica and Shay were kind, compassionate, empathetic and very very competent. They did everything they could for my little guy but unfortunately as great as his heart was it just wasn’t strong enough and he succumbed to his injuries. Thank you for all you did to make his end journey as pain free as possible and for making me feel that absolutely everything that could be done..was done. Much appreciated.
The staff (Vets and aides) are ALWAYS very caring and continually show their love of animals!
Absolutely wonderful staff here. Need to pick something up later? They will happily set it aside for you to get this evening. They're open early, stay open late and don't make it a gigantic hassle to get your supplies during lockdown like …
Murtaugh, our 7 month old Goldendoodle loves Southglen and all of the staff there! From his first appointment, to his neuter last month, they have always made sure he is not only well taken care of, but comfortable in the environment. They allow us to bring him in on non-appointment days to socialize him to the office, and he loves seeing all of his friends at the vet. They are great at communicating and full of info, too! While we hope we don't have to go in for sickness or injury, we are always relieved and confident when we do. Thanks team!
Wouldn't recommend this place whatsoever. I brought my dog here almost every single day for his last 3 weeks of his life and all I felt was that they were up charging me on everything, from visits to medication. Its pretty sad that the veterinarians here are all about the money and not concerned about your pets health. No follow up was done with our big guy, just our pockets were left empty near the end.
This is a vet clinic that offers convenience, but not always quality. The hours at Southglen are amazing and they can almost always accommodate last minute appointments. Dr. Litchfield is fantastic and we had many great appointments with her. However, there are many different vets that work there and almost always their opinions do not align. I had a couple of negative experiences - one potentially life threatening for our pup- where products and 'bandaid' solutions/meds were being pushed on us with no interest in looking at the broader picture to address what the causes of the issues were- just get you in and out as quickly as possible. This vet is a great option for evenings and weekends when something minor comes up (like an infection) but for long term care, stick with a vet that will get to know your animal and put their well-being first, not after corporate goals and efficiencies are maximized.
Very friendly, great hours, but expensive
They took excellent care of our sick dog and were very compassionate
I liked taking my pets here but the prices are much higher than other veterinarian clinics/hospitals.
The staff really show that they care and understanding for animals, especially since my cat had been very stressed and aggressive while visiting.
They were booked solid for ultrasounds, but the vet there managed to fit my dog in on a lunch break when we weren't sure if his symptoms were indicating something very serious. They really care at Southglen.
Thank you so much to your wonderful team. I had a terrible decision to make yesterday to put my senior kitty cat to sleep. Mitsar was her name and I had her from the first night when I moved into my first place! She had been through …
Have always enjoyed our visits to South Glen and the fact that they're open super late is great!
Thank-you to Southglen Veterinary clinic, who was able to book our sweet girl Coco in for emergency surgery. They were literally calling me within 15 minutes, to start the process of helping Coco from her drop off time. Dr. Guinn, Brianna & …
Great place and excellent prices thank you for treating my dog
I am new to Winnipeg and Southglen was recommended to me when I found two ticks on my pup. They were so kind and understanding on the phone and promptly got my dog in for an assessment. They were gentle and timely and had great suggestions …
A little pricey but for my girls nothing but the best.
They were kind enough to take in my dog after being attacked at the nearby dog park; even though we weren't regulars there. However, after our experience with them , we have switched our files!! ALL of the staff were so helpful and genuinely cared about my little guy.
Super helpful and friendly
Everyone here is so friendly, and all the doctors we've seen have been amazing! Will continue to use this hospital for all my pets!
Great hours means almost no need for after hours care. Service good enough for me to drive by at least 2 other vets on my way from the west end. Their thoroughness can be costly, my dog needed teeth cleaning and shopping around I was able to find a better deal than their range while still providing solid care. If price id's no object this would be 5/5
Fantastic service. They truely care.
This was 2 years ago, but I just received a spam email from them asking for reviews... We had our 2nd dog spayed here instead of our regular vet as she was a rescue and this vet was doing the spay for the rescue. The "free" spay cost us almost as much as the spay for our other dog (at our regular vet). Partly because they talked us into using lazer therapy on the incision. It was supposed to help her heal faster and reduce chances of infection. However the stitches were sloppy, she did get an infection, and it took her months to fully heal... our other dog we had spayed without lazer therapy had neat and barely visable stitches, a smaller incision, no infection, and healed up completely within 2 weeks. My dogs adore our regular vet and I have never heard dogs upset or crying there. At Southglen I could always hear distressed dogs in the back and my dog was terrified to be there. We will happily adopt again... but will pay out of pocket for future spay/neuter to have it done at a vetrinary office we trust. Our regular vet is St.Vital Vetrinary on St. Anne's and they are absolutely wonderful.
Fantastic staff, excellent care. Understand how much the fur babies mean to you ????
We brought our cat here as a new patient because they are located very close to our home and they took the absolute best care of her. She is a rescue (formally stray) with no known previous medical history. They did a thorough exam of her, …
Staff members are friendly and knowledgeable - they make an effort to make my cat and I comfortable. They truly treat my pet with care. The online booking system is a nice bonus.
The staff is awesome. We have taken our dog to Southglen for years and we’ve had nothing but great experiences. The vets and technicians all show a genuine concern for each “patient”. We call whenever we have questions and we communicate via email about our dog’s health. Highly recommended.
Awful. If you want a salecall, this is the place to go. Staff changed and terrible now. We had an appointment, they made us wait 30 minutes while our sore cat was in her kennel. If there was an emergency that came in, please call us to simply reschedule, not make her suffer more then she needed to. When they did take us, two separate tech’s came into the room on separate times, for different things. It felt so disorganized / rushed in there. Then they come up with a treatment plan, with no discussion. Just “here it is, so you want it or not” feeling. No details to side effects of the medicine they want to give, how to administer it, how often, etc. Each time the doctor came in the room, she tried to sell us on products. Three separate times did she try to sell us things. So, after two hours, we walked away very upset, felt like we were treated by a sales call, and will not be back. When we questioned a certain treatment plan, we were told by the doctor that “we owe it to her to give her the medicine.” Excuse me? We are sitting there ripped up about the situation, and that’s what you tell me? Take your $20 and let me go to another vet.
Our cat came down with diabetes. I was pleased about their email correspondence to ensure we got what we needed and knew what to do and when. They were great at brainstorming options when I left them know I needed to find the most economical choices.
Caring staff, great service and very convenient hours (open until 11pm!!)
Took my kitten to another vet to be neutered. The other vet discovered the kitten had a ruptured polyp in his ear and is likely half deaf now. Southglen diagnosed this as ear mites 3 times over with no further investigation. Will not be bringing my business back to a vet that doesn’t actively look into repeated medical issues.
Consistently show care for my cats, they treat them like they are their own pets and not just an animal! Their hours are fantastic and they do their best to get you in for emergencies. Prices are higher compared so some other vets, but it's well worth it for such compassionate care.
Negative 10 stars out of 5. They guilted me into paying 400 dollars for a teeth cleaning for my dog when it wasn't critical or necessary at all! I didn't have the money to do it and I told them that. However, they didn't listen and made me feel as if I was a bad dog owner if I didn't get the treatment done. Never going back!!!!
Very friendly and knowledgeable. Pricey compared to other offices, but worth it.
They take great care of all the animals/patients but I feel like I'm constantly being upsold on things that aren't really necessary. Pricey service but the building is clean and the people are friendly. …
Great staff. Very caring and treat my pet like he was their own. Doctors are very knowledgeable as are the vet techs. I have been going to Southglen for over 9 years with my dog. He has many significant health issues and they have always discussed procedures and different options are available. They are available whenever I need them whether it is for a regular appointment for a wellness exam or an emergency situation and need to see them within the hour. They know the personality of my dog and because of that treat him accordingly when we come in to make sure he is under the least duress as possible. I have referred several family members and friends to Southglen and they are pleased with the service and staff of Southglen. I would highly recommend Southglen.
Dr Blankvoort and the staff were kind and gentle with our 17 year old cat Willow (and understanding with my emotional state), in her last moments. We are so grateful and appreciate all you did for her to make her feel safe and …
Our first and only visit was problematic. Front desk staff were rude, in January we had to wait outside in the cold for some reason ( I do not have an agressive dog at all, we were just told to go outside and down the sidewalk and they would get to us). Vet tech was very unknowledgable about out of province transfers and vaccination requirements so lots of confusion about what type of service we actually needed. However vet tech was very insistent and repeated several times the fee schedule and required my agreement to pay (even though they did not have a cost because they couldn't decide what vaccinations my dog actually needed). 45 minutes later we finally got to see a veterinarian and even they did not know how to determine the necessary vaccinations. First vet we visited in MB and I could not believe the rude and incompetent staff. We do not recommend and we will not be back. 1 star only because I can't give a Zero.
Short version: Go somewhere else. The 70 dollar "exam" consisted of 10 seconds of touching and a wrong diagnosis. Long version: My cat took a tumble off of the window ledge and something happened with his back leg. He would growl and hiss when it started to hurt after walking on it. Then lay down. We thought it may have broke/fractured. Or he pulled a muscle/tendon. Anyways, we arrived and the veterinarian, she touched him for all 10 seconds and got him to walk around. (Even after we told her what happened she didn't even touch his leg, rotate his hip, check his paw, move his ankle. Nothing!) After walking a bit he of course started to feel pain again and laid down after hissing and growling. After hmming and hawing she said it looked like seizure like behavior and insisted we get an xray. We asked for an estimate and also reinforced the fact that its a leg injury (clearly) and not a head injury. After a 500 dollar estimate, and no guarantee that an xray would reveal the problem. We decided to walk. We got some overpriced pain meds just so he wouldent be in as much pain, and called the humane society the next day. The 2 workers who picked him up (free of charge) did more work in 2 minutes (actually checked his leg, and gave realistic diagnosis) then the 200 dollar vet did the night prior. They determined he has soft tissue damage in the form of a sprain, and just needs rest and no kitty antics for a couple weeks. If this review can deter one person from going to this place I'll feel my money was well spent. All it takes is one wrong diagnosis to kill your pet. Remember that.
Visited 5 times for the same issues but never resolved.
Friendly and helpful staff and Vets. Always know our pets are getting excellent care
They have the best hours and all the equipment and technology to diagnose your pet. Just be careful, they always go for the most expensive treatment options and like to do all the tests imaginable. If you are on a budget, let them know …
Today's pandemic appoinment for our pup Piper was friendly, fast, courteous and very efficient.
Today's pandemic appoinment for our pup Piper was friendly, fast, courteous and very efficient.
Got a pup from Manitoba Matt's and brought him to Southglen vet for vaccinations. Everyone was friendly, pup loved the treats, vet was fast giving the needles and caused no stress to him. They seem like they care and didn't make me feel rushed at all and were happy to answer all my questions.
Southglen has taken wonderful care of our 3 dogs. We drive all the way across the city because they’re worth it. Couldn’t recommend them more.
I liked it ....but my Onyx was less impressed
We bring all of our animals here. We use to live 40 minutes away, and though we are much closer now, we would have never thought about going somewhere else that what closer. The clinic staff and veterinarians are always the sweetest to our pets, I can tell it's absolutely genuine. Their late hours are a huge weight off our shoulders, and has been an absolute blessing once. We had a sudden death in the family and were required to go out of city for the day. We had a puppy just one week away from his rabies shot appointment, but we were going to need to board him for the day as everyone of our friends had obligations. They fit us in that evening to get the shot and recommended a good boarder facility to take us last minute. With four pets, all of their personalities range quite a bit. As such, we have an old man cat that was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. This requires us to come in for twice year blood work to make sure everything is still well balanced. This can make an elderly cat a bit grumpy sometimes. They are always very gentle and professional with him, even when he's being a little jerk. We really appreciate this, as his was my first pet and I've had him over 10 years since he was a kitten. They are very understanding of the bond I have with him, even when he's acting up. Could not recommended Southglen Veterinary hospital enough. We will never go anywhere else.
VERY dedicated and compassionate staff, always my first choice for my animals. They have saved both my dogs' lives and I couldn't be more thankful for their care and capabilities. Special thanks for Dr. M. Sra, and Dr. Ward who were wonderful in each of our emergency situations, and whom both treated and cared for my animals as if they were their own. I swear by these individuals, and can't thank them enough.
I find the pricing very aggressive and they love the up sell. Convenient hours and staff. Anything major go elsewhere.
My dog Blue got sick late in the day I called my regular Vet, they were fully booked and recommend Southglen. They we're able to see him that day.The level of care and compassion shown by all the staff made the visit far less stressful for …
Southglen is great! That staff are all amazing and treat the animals like family. Dr. Litchfield is the best vet ever!
I understand things are a little hectic with COVID-19, but doesn’t give a right to overcharge customers and leave them in the dark.
I had to take my cat in ASAP for bowel problems. The main reason I went there is it was late and they're open until 12am. Everyone there was extremely helpful and polite. I'll definitely go there again for any veterinary services.
Great staff. Very empathetic and understanding with more late hours.
We take our dog here and have for years. He needed a minor surgery and the staff were exceptional. He was safe and I was fully confident in his care. From check ups to nail trimming - they are professional and kind. Highly recommend!!
Amazingly great vets and great staff at this location. Super thrilled to have had them from the beginning of our pet venture . Quality service with tonnes of information being given out and no rushing.
This is bar none the best experience I've had with a vet. You could truly feel the love for the animals and the compassion the staff have for not only your pet, but for you as well. …
This clinic is open when others are closed and you might think you'd get poorer service due to the long hours but they are fast, courteous, and professional. They really seen to like animals and are very engaged with the owners.
Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. I came in with my cat who (unbeknownst to me) had swallowed a chunk of my sister’s computer cord. It didn’t show up on X-rays so they tried for nearly two weeks to figure out what was making her so ill. Finally, Dr. Litchfield decided the best option was an exploratory surgery. The X-rays appeared to have some kind of blockage but they couldn’t tell what. I agreed, willing to do anything to save my girl. A couple hours later I got a call that they found the problem and removed it and Poppy girl was already showing improvement. In no time I had my girl back and better than ever. I am so grateful to Dr. Litchfield and Dr. Blankvoort and all the amazing staff for saving my girl, and comforting me through the whole process.
the staff seem to truly love all animals and are always fantastic to my cat. and my cat is not afraid when I bring him here.
we have three dogs and appreciate the extended hours also whwn we adopted our dogs the letter from the vet helped us get our dogs
Love them. Super friendly and polite(unlike some other places) and always try to accommodate to my dog which is amazing. The place itself is clean which is great. And obviously my dog doesn't Like going to the vet ( what dog does ) but they're so friendly it makes both of us feel more comfortable.
They are open later than most, and are lovely people. They don't CHARGE extra for those late (1 location is ooen 24/7) hours
This place has been great with all our pets.
Love the place and the staff actually care about our furry little guy
I had written before about how one of the vets was pushy about surgery on one of our cats and wanted to charge a lot of money. We had to take one of our dogs in because of a badly scratched eye ( went back because of the time and open hours ), This time we dealt directly with the owner of the clinic, he was very apologetic about how we were treated the last time. This time was a much better experience with all options well explained and no pushiness Our dog lost her eye but felt much better about the experience. The only thing that would have been better is if the owner would have contacted us when I first went in and made the complaint.
Very friendly and accommodating on shirt notice
Pretty good. I take my dog Nicholas there when he needs his checkups and other vet needs.
Everybody there are so welcoming and accommodating - when you love what you do, it shows. Keep up the excellent work!
When you take your baby in, only some health concerns are acknowledged, while others are forgotten/ignored although brought up more than once. Upon stating this to the front desk when your pet dies, they will tell you to expect a call from the general manager, who will then not call.
Very Friendly and Professional staff. Always ready to answer the simple and difficult questions. Always make you feel good about the care of your pets.
Southglen's team are so friendly, the vets are all amazing and we've met all of them. I guess the best review is from our yorkie who has been in so many times for pokes and meds, and she still likes going.
Can't stress how good my experiences have been with Southglen. The techs and vets are very compassionate. Would defo recommend.
We bring both of our cats to this vet clinic and they have been nothing but kind, empathetic and honest. After a horrible experience at another vet clinic, this clinic saw our cat right away, kept her for observation, completed some …
Got us in as my cat was unwell and was great with answering all my questions
We had the best service ever. Such a nice place to take our pet. We felt the staff has a great love for animals and treated our cat great. Definitely going to go back again!
Everyone at Southglen has been amazing! My husband and i rescued our first pup in March and they have been nothing but wonderful to us! Always there to help us and answer any questions ( and i have a lot of them) We wouldn't take our pup anywhere else!
Very knowledgeable group of doctors and RVTs. The staff at Southglen have helped to save two of my pets' lives. My cat had an abscess rupture on the front of his throat. Which left vital …
Cat had some redness building up in its eye. Vet recommended seeing eye specialists from Sask. Went and did so. Was told it was cancer and to remove it. A vet from a different practice told us to wait and get a second opinion while Southglen insisted on removing the cats eyes. We waited as per the advice of the other vet and it turned out our cat was ok. Southglen clearly has caring staff but they are expensive and eager to make you a 'treatment plan'. It's the only vet Ive encountered that functions this way and it cost my brother $4,000 for his cat to die there a couple years ago.
I've had to get help with several pets over the years and they have always been very kind. I've put down a number of aging cats here on short notice and had several feral cats checked out and fixed up.
Fantastic hours, amazing and friendly staff who all genuinely care about your pets and that's plain to see. Would and do recommend to anyone I know.
Open till 1 am is amazing. Staff shows great compassion and caring for my animals.
Very nice people and great service ????
They went over and above for my guy. The compassion and understanding was incredible. Thank you for your kindness.
I have two dogs - one who goes to the vet for his annual check-up and shots, and the other who goes (on average) once a month for various chronic and acute conditions. Southglen staff have consistently been kind, knowledgeable, accessible, and have provided both of my pets with excellent medical care. I have appreciated the accommodations that they have made for my rescued dog who has fear issues. The vet techs are wonderful (I'm sure we know almost all of them by now) and we have received excellent veterinary card from Dr. Litchfield and Dr. Blankvoort. The tests and services performed have always been well-explained, relevant, and furthered my dogs' medical care. Their hours of operation are fantastic and people are often shocked when they learn that my vet is open until midnight, daily, without additional emergency fees. I have recommended this vet to many people and all I have sent have also enjoyed an excellent experience. Keep up the great work!
Took my dog in when there were no open appointments and worked on him between appointments... gave good analysis, and care
We brought in our new puppy today to see Dr. Warde and she was lovely. We are new nervous owners and everyone at southglen was very patient and indulgent with us. There was no forced upselling or guilting just heartfelt advice. For our very first vet appointment it was a success.
We have been taking our dogs here for their annual checkups and medical care for many years and always been pleased with the care they have been received .
Service here was incredible. They were all booked up for the evening but made all the effort to sqeeze me and my cat in. They got him all looked after immediately and he's been back to his normal self since. Thanks to everyone!
I was happy that Southglen Vet was able to get me in the next day from when i called to book. They have great hours, with helpful staff that care about the animals. That being said you do pay more to have the convenience of them being open late and on weekends.
So far our boxer/bullmastiff has received 8 years of care at Southglen. We have always received excellent care and suggestions.
The team at SouthGlen helped us during a difficult time. They were all so kind and professional.
i phone 2 weeks ago to book appointment for Tia with Dr. Gwuinn...they have not phoned me back when i can bring her in. They said they would call me so i can book apptment when they know Dr, Gwuinns' schedule. Not impressed at all!!
My dog hates this place. But I don't. 5/5
So this is our primary veterinary hospital for our canine Nutmeg. She's been going there since she came into care with Manitoba Underdogs Rescue. We kept her with the same vet place when we adopted her, as they knew all her history & her etc.. love this place!! The vet techs and docs are all wonderful & so very helpful. Always happy to answer all my questions and any concerns I have (and I usually have lots of questions, or something I read & had a concern lol that I was wanting more info on) their good sports there. Dr Guinn is our vet, fantastic, and so great with our Nutmeg. "Hello friend" & a smile on her face is always how she greets us ???? all the vet techs are just as amazing! We were purchasing our vet food a little bit closer to home, but they stopped carrying it. Called up southglen were more then helpful & accommodating to order it in for us & got it in a timely manner. Only have great & wonderful things to say about this establishment & the staff. So if you are looking for a veterinarian & an establishment that offers thorough affordable care, supplies @ decent prices and helpful, kind and caring staff. Look no further.
Phoned three times for follow up, all three times told that the information was put into the Vet's log book and a "GUARANTEE" that she would follow up that day or the next. Never received any follow up on a dog they had already done several tests on and admitted the were just trial and erring on his severe skin issues.
Simply AWESOME people!!! Professional and very courteous and caring!!! Ghost could not have had a better experience! Definitely recommend! Not to mention the extremely fair pricing!!!
Since we got Mac (Rumble) from Caare rescue, we have chosen to go to Southglen Veterinary Clinic and more specifically Dr Litchfield. She is amazing, kind, considerate and understanding. She takes the time to explain things and makes both pet and owner feel at ease. The staff to are amazing!! We have seen many technicians and front desk staff and they are all great! Very pleasant, caring and compassionate!! We look forward to a long relationship with everyone here!! Fantastic people and clinic. Great job all around????????????
Friendly staff, better than most vets in the area
Fast, friendly, courteous. Got us in quickly, and treated our pup like the princess she is.
I get the reviews on how friendly the staff are and the convenience of the hours which you do have to pay extra for but really, a person wants a good experienced Vet. Someone who can detect, recommend and make a diagnosis by what they have experienced or what they have learned. They don't do that at this Vet. The have more tests and expensive treatments than a Spa. I've had to come here for emergency treatment and have tried to give them a fair chance on not so emergency treatment but I always leave wishing i had not gone there. Vet tec? Just another salary you have to pay for. They only thing they "vet" is the customer mood after they make them sign the cost agreement!
One of the vets (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) is INCREDIBLY rude and misdiagnosed my dog resulting in him dying. I took him in because he was acting strange and was whining and the vet said he just had gas, gave him a shot to settle his stomach, and prepared a prescription for some $60 probiotics. I told him I already had probiotics at home and he told me that I had to pay for them since he'd already written up the prescription. He did not ask me or tell me he was doing this. The visit cost me over $400 in total and then 6 hours later my dog was screaming and we had to take him to the emergency; he passed away shortly after. I know mistakes happen but the callousness and obvious money grabbing going on at this vet is DISGUSTING. This vet did not care about my dog's well-being whatsoever and just charged me for whatever he could. I'm much happier at Pembina Veterinary Clinic. Edit: I do want to mention that the front desk staff is excellent, friendly, and very helpful. It's just the vet we've dealt with that was awful.
Very kind and caring. Thank you
I used to praise this place, I drove across the city just to stay loyal here (my dog can only eat vet food). After the horrific experience I had with Lochhead, I'll never bring another pet back here again. Don't expect her to have any knowledge or give any educated advice. After their follow up call, I found the extent to which this vet had lied about our visit appalling and disgusting. I had gone to this clinic for years and had a good history in addition to the thousands upon thousands I've spent there, apparently this is worth nothing to them. I highly suggest that if you ever have to be in a room with this Lochead woman, have your camera rolling in order to protect yourself... even though there's signs in every room asking you not to record your visit. The clinic won't even consider any complaint you might have if the vet tells a story first.
We had a really good experience with Southglen. We had to make a last minute appointment for a problem with our dog's eye, and although it was hard on us to have to wait until 2200 to be seen (after a 2130 appt time, and then having to wait more as the vet was between 2 patients at the time), we were happy they were able to fit us in and not have to wait until the next day. All of the staff is wonderful; very kind and welcoming, and didn't mind that our dog popped his head over the counter to say hi!
Expensive paid $400 too have the vet say "I don't know what's wrong ".
Were very accommodating fitting us in when we had to put our cat down and were so wonderful even with everything going on
Not worth the headache... pushy staff, don't give a very good explanation of the treatments they're asking you to pay good money for. They're like robots programmed to say whatever script they're told to by management.
Missed an easy diagnosis of asthma and sent my cat for expensive, invasive tests. They always seemed to be up selling me
Very friendly and you can see they care alot!!!! Best vet in the city!!!!
Has always been great and fair with me and my animals. Def recommend this place.
Friendly staff, great hours, knowledgeable veterinarians. Only downfall...it’s pricey.
We turned to this vet in an emergency situation when our vet office was closed for both our dog and several of our cats. The extended hours are awesome . Reasonable prices , great vets and techs . Knowledgeable and compassionate. We now …
Friendly, convenient, exceptional hours, clean, quick, thorough, knowledgeable, professional, quality service-Vets are very caring and my cat is relaxed there. Pricey but worth it.
Staff was very friendly to deal with. Made me and Macy very comfortable. Excellent and fast service in an emergency situation. Would recommend to everyone.
My husband & I started taking our two cats to the Southglen Veterinary Hospital when we first moved into the area. It was close to home and very convenient. Over time, we found it to be much more...it was a very caring place to take our two pets for the care they needed. Last year, we took Jasper, one of our two cats for examination as she was not doing well at all. As it turned out, we ended up having to have her put down. It was very devastating. Jasper, was not only our pet but a member of the family for the past 15 years. Her and her sister, Callie, were my husband's comfort and distraction after his massive stroke, so you see, she meant a lot to us. The staff at Southglen treated Jasper with the utmost care and their compassion for the loss of our dear pet was most comforting. They also sent us a sympathy card with a print of Jasper's paw in the card. That was most touching. We shall continue to take our other cat to this facility because we know she will be well treated. We surely are grateful to them and highly recommend them to anyone who us looking for the best care for the pet.
I've been taking my pet to this vet for about 8 years and I've never have a bad experience the staff and doctors have always been patient and friendly and they really show their care and concern for your pet. They are very easy to talk to and deal with they make your visit super comfortable. I would definitely recommend Southglen Veterinary Hospital.
2500.00 later and our dog was dead within a week. It was the worst experience we have ever had. Then we had to pay extra to have him euthanized and cremated. Doing all these test and hospital stay just to be told when the dog died that he had cancer When your pet is in pain, we do not think straight and I find that's when we get taken advantage of. I think the vets need to be honest with us and tell us our pets are dying. Sometimes all we want is for our pets to die without pain
I called this Vet hospital after having waited hours over the time that I was told to wait outside the Bridgwater Veterinary hospital. They were able to take in our cat right aways! I appreciate their quick response, helpfulness and care. I would definetly recommend this veterinary hospital.
I made 2 appointments for my cat for shots, I had to move one appointment because I ended up having to go to work and when I went in for the appointment they told me i didn't have one, they never send the plans through email like they say they are and I asked how much it was for a nuter for a male cat, they told me 100, I get there and its 300, that's a huge differance and a rip off, very unorganized, yhey don't really care about the animals it seems like just money.
All of the doctors at Southglen have provided us with outstanding care for our pet.
Dr Guinn is amazing, very clean and neat place. Had an issue with the front desk apparently they do not know the prices and quoted me 2 different amounts other than that pretty decent
Great Staff, very caring!
I have been coming here for many years. Staff are always friendly. Place is clean and very accommodating. Prices are high and unfortunately they do not have a location in my end of town. Currently my drive is about 30-45 minutes depending on traffick. If my dogs were not on a specialized diet (food is only available at this location), I probably would find a different veterinary hospital.
We've had nothing but great experiences here. The staff is skilled, kind, and caring towards both pets and owners. They've helped our dog whiskey for every medical issue shes had so far in her life. The best vet experience I've had in the city! Couldnt recommend them more :)
They are very fast and friendly to you pets!
They were extremely friendly, and my cat loved the veterinarian and technicians.
Made a handicapped wait outside while staff was on inside playing with their cell phones instead of listening to me on the phone. When I spoke too sternly about not wanting to be up sold as $ was tight (covid) instead they made me the bad guy. Proceeded to embarrass me. Not professional what so ever
Had an appointment for two dogs at 8:00pm. Arrived at 745 and called in to let them know we had arrived. The dogs and I stayed outside in the 30C heat until 9:10pm and the dogs still hadn't gone in. I left after waiting nearly an hour and a half for service.
Friendly staff, love for animals very evident, clean and would highly recommend to any pet owners. Easy to say, this should be your regular vet
Although, it may seem at times that they are just in it for the money, it is their livelihood and at times we can all have off days. We have an old spaniel and he contracted mitts. Our old vet spent months pushing drugs and his expensive dog food at us. Until my dog had lost all his fur and was almost dead. When i researched it and demanded the medication without a visit the dog was better in a few days. So after this horrible experience with McLeod Veterinary, Southglen was a god sent in the middle of the night when my dog had bloody stool and wanted to go outside every hour. They also go over the cost before the treatment so that you know going in and are not suprised at the front desk when expect to pay for the treatment. One of the nice things is that they are open till midnight and for emergencies; you don’t think about that feature till you have a sick animal and have to work the next day. We have since switched to Southglen for regular appointments, and found that some pet owners in the lobby have little control over their animals which can be frustrating to others and the staff. Overall we would recommend Southglen veterinary.
Love taking my cat here! All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, give great recommendations on food etc, wouldn't take my pet anywhere else!
Staff is great! The best vet in the city! They aren't like the ones I visited before, they are open late till 11pm. They care about you and your pet and won't try to empty your wallet. All the vet knows exactly what they are talking about.Dr. Lichfield and Dr.Srah are awesome.
Peaceful and calm atmosphere. Thorough and friendly staff!
Caring and worked within budget. Got me in same day
We have always had a good experience going to Southglen Vets. While the pricing for some Vet services can be found less expensive elsewhere, they have gained my loyalty and we will continue to use them. Two years ago, my dog became ill. I called my regular vet office at the time to see about bringing him in & was told that they were booked & nobody could see him. Whoever answered the phone sounded cold, uncaring and made me feel like an inconvenience for even thinking I could get a same day appt. I decided to try calling Southglen as they had helped us with a late night rescued kitten situation 2 years previous. The girl that answered the phone said they were book solid, but ASKED me what was going on & why I needed the appointment for my pet. She sounded very caring and compassionate and, after putting me on short hold, said to bring in my Dog at a certain time and they would squeeze him in. Fast forward a year and a half and I had to bring my other dog in urgently as he was yelping in pain. Both times they gave me the options and the estimates and both times a simple test or xray that didn't really cost all that much solved the issue. I didn't find them pushy in anyway or made to feel like i'm worthless if I didn't do this or that or whatever for my animal like other Vet offices do.
I had to rush my little yorkie in as she was choking. Her trac had collapsed. Dr. Blankvoort, Breanne, YOU SAVED MY LITTLE GIRLS LIFE! There are no words to express my sincere gratitude to you and your staff. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
In my opinion they are not flexible providing daytime appointments for issues that are "concerning " rather than an emergency. I notice they try to up sell services -suggesting an expensive chest e-ray for a recent case of obvious kennel cough in my dog. There are so many vet clinics to choose. I will be going elsewhere.
The hours of operation is what made me choose them from a list of other vets I am very satisfied
I like this place, but it’s getting pricier, and they don’t seem to do any interior maintenance on their location.poor shape. Staff is awesome, just feel bad for their working conditions.cheap owners, just getting paid.
My dog was seen by Dr. Guinn yesterday. At first, I was scared after reading all the negative reviews about this vet, but my dog was in pain and lethargic and in dire need to be seen and that left me with no choice. When I walked in I was welcomed by polite young ladies at the desk (okay, I was thinking so far, so good). I was put in a room with my dog and was seen shortly after. After speaking with the doc, the tech came in and showed us a list of tests that was recommended for my dog, in order to diagnose the problem. After choosing the tests to be done, the doc narrowed down the problem to HGE. Shortly after, the tech came in with the medication. Although the bill was nearly $400, I am glad that I brought my dog in to been seen and treated. Thank you to Dr,Guinn and her team of young ladies at Southglen! (Only reason why I gave 4 stars is because they were out of stock of one medication that my dog needed).
Southglen treated me and my puppy with the utmost care and respect. They were so knowledgeable and helpful, and made sure I understood as much as possible so I could make informed decisions about my dog's care. They were suggestive but never pushy about his treatments and I can always get appointment times that work for me!
Expensive. Staff are friendly. Some vets are stand offish.
This year we had an emergency on a Saturday evening, they got us in right away! Which was fantastic! We brought in our (at the time) 6 month old puppy, who just seemed to have a really bad stomach ache. …
Great staff that took very good care of our german shepard puppy we will continue yo use this vet
Both the techs and vet were very professional. At one point the vet was on the floor with my dog...it's awesome to see people who love their jobs!
Stay as far away from this place as possible. They will take the most expensive route possible, regardless of the risk it may pose to your animal. We brought our tiny dog here with a broken paw. Dr Sra said the only way to go was to put her under, straighten her bones and splint her entire leg. We allowed him to do this. We took every precaution possible, even made our pup go to the bathroom inside on a mat so that she couldn't get moisture in her splint. We brought her in as advised to be checked. 9 days after the splint was put on, we knew something was wrong. We brought her in and when they took off her splint, her leg was necrotic. Dr Sra assured us that a honey and water treatment could fix this and gave us a 'deal' on her treatments. We treated her assuming that Dr Sra knew what he was doing. After 3 days of honey treatment, we got a second opinion. Our pup ended up losing her entire leg because the splint that Dr Sra put on was too tight. There was no room for swelling. We would have been better off never have bringing her in and letting her heal on her own. We walked in to SouthGlen Veterinary with a broken paw, all said and done, this experience left us with a 3 legged dog and $4,000 out of our pockets.
We had an unfortunate overall experience with Southglen. Our rescue young dog was spayed (Feb 25) through the clinic, and is currently on day 20 of being in an elizabethan collar. Part of her spay incision was not healing well, and was …
Dr. Blankvoort and her assistant Cat where both Superb with my euthanasia. They made a really hard thing to go through much easier. Thank you Southglen Staff!
Expensive. This clinic claim that they donot charge any emergency fee but their services are very expensive. I took my pet who has vomited couple of times but was quite active still and doctors kept him in this hospital for 3 nights which costed me $2000. Just beware
Love taking my dog there, the staff is very friendly, caring and make the visit enjoyable.
Our regular vet was unable to get us in on March 11th 2019 when our 12 year old Chocolate Lab had been not well for several hours. Upon arriving the staff brought out a stretcher to help bring Nevada inside. She was unable to walk. After having an exam with Dr. Wiebe and speaking to me about her past history and what was going on with her. We made the decision to let Nevada cross the rainbow bridge. I was alone as my husband was away for work, but aware of the situation. They gave me plenty of time with Nevada to say my goodbyes, offered me beverages and said stay as long as I needed. Dr. Wiebe was gracious and honest. Obviously making this decision is extremely difficult and she assured me that she thought I was doing the best thing for Nevada. I was so thankful for her response. Afterwards, as I sat with Nevada and cried, they came in and asked me if I needed anything. I told the young girl I needed her to stay with Nevada while I left, and that I couldn't just leave her there alone. The girl sat down right away and started to pet Nevada and love her so I could go knowing she wouldn't be just "Left there" alone. Thank you to all the staff at Southglen. My heart was truly broken and you all were so kind and caring. I'm sure we will be back in the future.
Friendly staff. They really seem to care about the animals they treat. Prices are reasonable. An excellent place to take your pet.
ONE OF THE BEST IN WINNIPEG. I have had pets all my life and have used several other vet clinics in winnipeg. Southglen is just awesome, great staff, great facilities, great hours. We took our dog as she was hit by a car and had severe internal injuries, staff at Southglen cared for our dog as if it was their own.We highly recommend this vet clinic. Again thank you Southglen!
Great people work here and look after your pet
I honestly have nothing but good things to say. Since we have gotten our cats around 5 years ago, Southglen vet has been our go to vet. Over the years we have never been dissatisfied with any of the staff or service. Hours are wonderful and …
It's so suck. My pet got more pain at that the worst pet hospital.
Definitely one of the best clinics I've taken my dog to! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and they take the pet owner's concern seriously. The facility itself is bright and always clean. Fantastic service!
We are so thankful to everyone at Southglen Vet Hospital. Our little rescue dog has had a few health issues. Everyone there has been so kind and wonderful and has helped our dog make a full recovery.
The vets and staff are very friendly but this vet is way too expensive!!! They gave me an estimate to get my male pug puppy fixed and his nares opened and it was between $600-$1000. I ended up going to Petvet in Steinbech and it was only $400 for everything.
Took in my dog (Daisy) for her vaccinations in mid-November as well as having the vet examine a couple of lumps that we had noticed on Daisy's body. The Tech that saw her before the vet was very professional and answer any questions that I had. The vet (lady - forgot name) also very friendly and professional in her examination of Daisy. She took needle biopsy of the two lumps and to my relieve, they were found to be fatty tissues. All the staff that we encountered that day were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Southglen Veterinary Hospital.
I have had Vets in BC, Alberta and now Manitoba. Southglen Veterinary Hospital is the best I have every taken my furbabies to. They are helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. High recommend.
The care my 3 year old Rotti received was out standing the staff and Vet were amazing and very caring! I would recommend them if your Furbaby ever needed treatment. Thanks Jay and Sherry
I have a dog that’s in his last few months of living due to a heart murmur. I’ve been buying medication for his condition for many months. Recently the medication has stopped helping so we called to find out if we could increase the dosage. …
Trust my pets care to the expertise of the staff and doctors here.
Always top notch attention to detail and the staff love what they do. I think they love our dog almost as much we do!
Excellent service! Kind and courteous on the phone and in person. Seemed to really care what happened with my kitty! Upfront about cost; fair pricing and great hours! Would highly recommend! Genuine and compassionate!
Chester loves being there, he knows instictly they care; The staff obviously loves pets. I would trust them with my best friend.
Called looking for a quote and the lady that answered the phone just kept telling me that she cannot give me that information cause she doesn’t know, then I asked her when would be a better time to call to talk to the person that would know …
The Veterinary Hospital has been extremely helpful when we got our cat about a year ago. The nutritionist is helping us get our cat's weight under control. A very caring person she has helped us with so many ideas and a food plan. Our cat is losing weight too and we know she's eating healthy. We would recommend the Hospital to anyone!
Southglen is always very accommodating and informative. The staff is helpful and everyone there shows genuine care for myself and my kitties. My whole family has brought our pets to Southglen for years. It’s not cheap, but you can tell that the doctors are honest and care about the well being of your pet. Highly recommend.
Had a vet available in the evening to take care of our cat.
Always a positive experience every time we visit with great, friendly knowledgeable staff.
Your pet’s health and comfort is the primary focus here. Gentle, compassionate and knowledgeable staff.
I cannot say enough about the compassion and high standard of care provided at Southglen. The entire team, from front desk staff, to techs, to vets, are all always kind and professional every visit. We have been coming for years, with dogs with a whole range of personalities, and I only have positive things to say about the clinic. I always recommend Southglen to anyone who will
Absolutely in it for the money. Not terrible service but they recommended everything under the sun and attached all of those to the bill. Before I even had a chance to explain what happened to my dog the doc was already trying to sell me dogfood. Heartworm pills, dog food, blood work etc... all showed on the bill (I came in for a shoulder and elbow sprain). Only went there as my local vet closes Sundays. Good thing I have the balls to tell them to take those extra charges off as I look for my regular maintenance vet care from my actual vet.
Everyone was awesome that I spot with and patient with my 2 month old puppy. prices were very reasonable, definitely going back!
Excellent service and follow up. I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks for all your help :)
I was going to leave a 5 star rating because their service and nurses were amazing until....I got banned from this vetenarian hospital. Yes, you read right, banned! Who bans a polite paying customer?! I was very shocked to receive this news as I had not once displayed any rudeness, anger or violence towards staff/vets at South Glen! So I sense that Dr. Sra was strongly behind this decision as one of our discussions about the procedure suggested had lit his short fuse and was very rude towards me over the phone. For those who were saying Dr. Sra was in it for the money, I could definitely see that as he was not willing to listen to my concerns as the owner of the pet and was not very easy to work with. He was making all the decisions by HIMSELF, whereas I have usually seen other vets WORK with other vets especially on a very complicated case as ours. He had also suggested all these procedures which I paid for and it did not lead us to any idea what the issue might have been with our family dog. And I'm sure we all have our own budget and idea of what the diagnosis would possibly be before coming in, yet he completely ignores you and thinks he is right (well...who has known the dog longer in this situation?). And guess what? Our family dog is no longer around now, happy Dr. Sra? I would NOT recommend this vet nor the Best Friends animal hospital as he also works there.
I love this animal hospital. They are so accommodating and wonderful and take the best care of all the fur babies that use their services. A1+++
Amazing staff. They take great care of my two cats!
very friendly and seem to care a lot. I like how they tell you all your options and give you time to decide instead of pushing unnecessary medical test. Love the hours and how they stay open late. The only thing I don't like is prices are very high.
All the staff at Southglen are wonderful and you can tell they love animals as much as I love my pet. Open late. Very friendly. Every time I had to take my dog in, which was MANY appointments as she was badly attacked, I knew they were treating her with care exactly how I would.
Overpriced, attitude, when they make mistakes, they blame you. DO NOT GO THERE
A1 Service. Always! I think they are one of the best vets in the city. Always accommodating for us as our dog can't be near other dogs. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Never had a bad experience here.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place, we were dealing with a tragic scenario with our kitten and they took the best care of her possible. The outcome was not what we wanted, but they made it absolutely clear that our baby …
Compassionate friendly caring empathetic helps you deal with your issues and explains things very well even if needs replacing.
The team at Southglen is the best veterinary team I have ever had the pleasure of bringing my pets to. They have been kind and empathetic through our losing pets, going so far as to send us a condolence card signed by staff. They have …
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Didn't mistreat my animal but I absolutely felt like I was being swindled the whole time. I went there twice and both occasions they had the bill made up PLUS everything they could ever recommend. I had to tell them to not charge me for something as apposed to asking for it and they made me feel like a bad pet owner for not purchasing things. I had to return for a booster and I was told a technician could perform it and I wouldn't need to see a doctor. 5 min later the doctor comes in and I have to refuse more stuff. I also got charged $60 for her to weigh/take the temperature of my pet. "wellness exam" my ass; Other vet clinics offer this for free with a visit. Would not recommend to anyone ever.
My dog had a cancerous tumor on his face. The "Dr. Sra Said it was a pimple?! and squeezed it causing so much pain my dog tried to bite him.
Our kitties are given excellent care at Southglen. Each has been treated with love. Being out of their home environment is always stressful, but they are welcomed with treats, compliments on their good looks and cuddliness (and I am sure the cats understand...what a beautiful boy (or girl!). What has meant the most to us is that Southglen has been available after regular hours when our nearly 19 year old girl was suffering. She crossed over peacefully and surrounded by gentle care. I feel assured that the team at Southglen is there for our feline family.
This place is very accommodating. One of our dogs went full bore wolverine at the vet, and these guys handled it like pros.
My first experience with Southglen was when I brought my cat in and told the vet that we had paid a lot for emergency services and he told us that he will provide us with a discount on our visit. After that we became regular customers of …
The veterinarians and staff are caring, knowledgable and actually want to tend to the needs of animals. When my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease, the veterinarians put my mind at ease and helped me through a difficult diagnosis. Giving me the correct medications and food to keep her stable, seven months later she is happier then she has been in years! The staff make my experience enjoyable and stress free. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
Love this Vet! It never a problem for me to get an appointment for my pet. The staff is friendly and their hours are great!
They were quick. I brought my Pup there for nail trimming last visit. My puppy dog loves going to the Vet.
We left three messages, sent photos of a re-ocurring issue with our dog Rigby. We were promised a return call from the vet twice and never happened.
I went here because they were open on new years day. Great experience.
Great place...friendly staff,very caring.
Had to use this vet as this is where the rescue scheduled my dogs neuter. I also was getting hind dewclaws removed. There pricing was over $100 more for the removal then 2 other quotes I had gotten. When I asked why they simply said that …
Doctors are quite knowledgeable and are great with my dog. Wait time is usually 1/2 hr past the appointment time before the doctor comes in which is quite agitating to the dog, who is already nervous being there. That needs improvement. Perhaps they are booking appointments too tight? As medical examinations are already expensive to care for the animals, it would be great if a quick follow up on that issue, after they finish their medication, was included as part of the vet care. In other words no extra fee for a quick re-check. Some Vet Hospitals do this already. No one wants a 70+ bill for a quick 5 minute re-check. Overall the facility and care along with the extended hours are great. Front desk staff are very helpful and considerate.
I'm a lazy person, which means I only make comments for best or worst ones. This clinic is great. They took great measures during this COVID-19 period. At first time, I dropped by for flea and tick issue with my newly-adopted kitten. Second …
We have only had good experiences. We really trust them
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Always able to get our dogs in when needed since their hours are very convenient. Price always seems high as even just check ups cost way more than our old vet.
They are OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!! Staff is friendly and professional. But the price makes you think they care more about money than they do about your pet, unfortunately.
Very helpful and caring staff
My boyfriend and I have been taking our animals to Southglen for a few years now. One situation in particular really gained our loyalty.. Our puppy Dexter was only about 6-8 months old, and we moved into a new house. Being the clumsy puppy he is, he broke his shoulder in three places on the stairs and it was so heartbreaking. Southglen were amazing with him, and us.. Dexter had to get surgery, and stay in the hospital for a week. As sad as we were, we were enlightened with knowing how great they treated our little pup! I highly suggest this clinic to anybody and everybody needing the vet! Thanks for all of your help, as always!
