As you can see it reaches an feddbacks average is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we can conclude that the score is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
Sadly my cat reached the end of her life yesterday, her body gave out at age 18. The animal hospital was so kind and compassionate, and walked me through every step to say goodbye. She was in good hands, and I had honest opinions and options from the vets there, she was in good hands, and we had a kind and gentle goodbye. Reasonable pricing, they didn't force further testing because there was nothing they could do to help her.
Last night after being rejected from EVERY other animal hospital in GTA we finally were able to find this hospital. It was our 12 year old dog final hours, minutes really and the DR. there was VERY accommodating to understanding our emotional distress at this time. The reception took our guy in right away and the doctor gave us her honest opinion. If it wasn't for the doctors there that entire experience could of been traumatizing. Thank you for letting us take our time with Fifa and saying goodbye to him. You were all amazing women in there and can't imagine how hard these situations can be for you too. We will miss Fifa but we will always cherish his final moments of care.
Not sure if they are being thorough or unnecessary testing but it was expensive
Always a pleasure to come and visit the entire team. Very professional and super friendly. They perform above and beyond the call of duty and I would highly recommend without any reservations!
Went here tonight because our own vet told us their emergency clinic was full for the night. Our dog was constantly puking for over 6 hours, at one point every 5 minutes for an hour. We get there sign all the paperwork. He pukes twice while we're in waiting room so they put us in a separate room away from everyone else. We got there at 10pm. Around 11pm I go to the desk to get more wipes as our dog puked twice more. At this point he is still not a severe enough case to be looked at. I ask for an update and are told he's now 2nd on the list and couldn't give me a time frame. Fine. I go back to the room. Another 1 hour and 45 minutes goes by still no one looks at him. I leave the room and ask again for an update. At this point the waiting room is pretty much empty. They have the nerve to tell me it's another 30-45 minute wait. Don't get me wrong I get it that there may have been more severe cases then ours. But when our pup pukes 6 times in the span of 3 hours waiting there I would think that would be a cause for concern. We didn't wait the extra 45 minutes. We left at 1am. Our advise, steer clear of this place. Hoping our pup will be okay.
They acted right away, didn't delay with anything and resolved the issue which could have been fatal. It's a busy clinic and they know what they're doing there, highly organized also. It's clear by their sheer number of clients. They also see people at their worst and that takes skill to handle.
Super care for our pet. Wish my own doctor was half as good.
Couldn't make you feel more comfortable
I cannot say how AMAZING the whole Team is there ..They saved my French Bulldog from being paralyzed!! They are the BEST of the BEST and I cannot Thank Them Enough for there Efforts and Kindness ❤ A Million Stars from Me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I brought my shih tzu in for an emergency operation to remove calcium oxalate lodge in his urethra. My first initial payment just for diagnosis was $1200 in which I had to pay 75% of it. The Dr. Said that the type of condition that my dog is in will require a delicate surgery in which may be worth up to $3000. The next day, I had to speak to the surgeon who then told me that since the stones were lodge in the urethra that the surgery will be very difficult and would range from low $7000 to high $12000. $350 a day to stay in the hospital. I had to decide to euthanize my dog because they where not sure of complications that will arise from surgery. Needless to say they over priced you because they know that you will do everything and all for your pet. I checked on line and for a few who have done similar operations the highest, and having similar complications only cost in the high of $4700. Without them preforming surgery and just providing pain meds and a few xrays, I paid $1800 and all the pain and sorrow of losing my precious dog. I am furious, I could have been able to have my best friend operated on and he would still be alive today. This hospital only cares about being paid and its all business for them. Do your self a favour and check somewhere else.DO NOT GO HERE AS THEY WILL ONLY CARE IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE SURGERY.
Very helpful and caring - took the time to explain everything. Thank you to the doctor and staff!
Like any specialized vet clinic it is expensive, but you definitely get what u pay for.
This is the worst place, yes i agree, they care for only money, money , money and nothing else. before they wanted to do all the test, i had a team of doctors and as the tests were done not a single doctor to explain the outcome, i had a reception explain the results and no medical explanation. ask a question to the doctor and his answer is "God Knows", wish the bill also was paid by god. worst place KEEP AWAY. They don't care for the reviews, hope others read it before you go there, I wish I had done this. I have also complained to the CVO
A very big thank you to Dr. Huffman, anesthesiologist & vet techs. My chihuahua has a liver shunt and ran the risk of not waking up if put under anesthesia, so we chose to go here specifically for having an anesthesiologist on staff. Grateful to say my little girl woke up and is recovering well. Dr.Huffman & vet tech were wonderful to speak to and very understanding and patient with every single detailed question i had for them before during & after surgery! The rest of the staff (front desk & vet assistant).. can't say were nice or helpful, but the most important part is the doctors sure know what they're doing & take all risk into consideration before deciding the best option for your pet. Would highly recommend to bring your furbaby here.
Honestly it was the best my girlfriend and I could have hoped for, as we were in a very tough financial situation. Our FIV+ cat had stomatitis and needed to have all of his teeth removed. We were referred to this clinic from our vet, and after the consult where Dr Huffman walked us through all of the steps and procedures she gave us a written quote and broke down the range of the cost. Basically, the longer the surgery went the more anesthesia would be used, and that was the biggest factor in the cost. The doctor was very kind and thorough in her explanations. However, at the time it was about three times more than what our vet had said it would be, and we were pretty mad about that. My girlfriend had just lost her job and we had just moved into our own apartment, so we could not even come close to affording it. But after asking around friends and family to recommend cheaper options, they all told us it would cost the same price range. We wound up raising a lot of the money through crowdfunding donations, and decided to go back to this clinic because the doctor was great and we were referred to her as the best in the area. Not long after we took him in. The surgery wound up taking longer than expected, because the doctor wanted to make absolutely sure she was thorough. But not only did she not charge us more for that time she went over, she allowed us to do a special payment plan. We paid for half up front, then had 6 equal payments over 6 months to pay off the rest AT NO INTEREST. In our financial situation it was a god send. Even with the crowdfunded donations we would have had to wait for months longer if we had to pay all of it at once. After the surgery the doctor also gave us her personal cell phone number so we could text her with any questions or concerns. At one point our cat's mouth was bleeding and he stopped eating, so we brought him in for a check up which they also didn't charge us for. The doctor and the staff were all very kind, informative and helpful. Anyone in the Mississauga area who needs more expensive surgeries who have a hard time affording it should definitely help. I think that special payment plan is only something that Dr Huffman does, and she specializes in dental work, but we have nothing but great things to say about all our interactions with the clinic. Our cat Mouse is now doing great! He's back to eating and playing normally and we couldn't be happier!
If their was a 0 star option I would use it. Absolute worst clinic, with the most unprofessional staff. I’m sure their may be staff who might be great working at this clinic, but not who I dealt with. My 1 year old Puppy developed stones in his bladder preventing him from peeing. When I brought him to this clinic it had been 24 hours since my dog had last urinated. As soon as i walked in they took my dog to the back immediately acting as if they were treating him right away, and made me put a $900 down deposit to run tests and relieve him, they had me go home during this process. They called me back several hours later to tell me his “procedure” had been done. As i showed up to see my dog and follow up with the vet, the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about, however stated my second bill was ready to be paid???? She then put me in a room where I waited 30 minutes to speak to the vet whom I had left my dog in the car of to answer my questions and tell me what was going on. After 30 minutes I stormed out the room demanding to see my dog, only then did they give me my dog back and allowed me to wait with him. A completely different Vet than the one who I had spoken to prior leaving my dog there showed up to talk to me and had no idea why I was there. On top of it all my dog was not relieved within the hours I had left him there (at this point my dog was at a risk of having his bladder explode). I demanded to have him discharged immediately and my money back, the receptionist not only refused to give me my money back, but requested $30 more from my outstanding “bill” even though 0 procedure was done and my dog still had to urinate. From there I rushed my puppy to Veterinary Emergency Clinic Toronto, where they did an ourstanding job treating my puppy and gave him their undivided attention immediately. Nothing but a money scam with completely unsympathetic and unprofessionals working there. My puppy since HAS been cured 100% no thanks to this clinic.
Very caring, experienced and human team that was there in the most sensible time of our pet. I'll be always grateful for the comfort and support to us and our pet in his final moments. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
They saved my dog's life when it was not looking good. Great consistent communication and skillful doctors surgeons and staff. Costly but worth it .
Absolutely the best Emergency Animal Hospital in Mississauga/Oakville ! Compassionate and very knowledgeable staff. They treated me and my Guinea Pig with dignity and respect with their end of care services. They answered any questions I had and discussed options for how I could memorialize my pet with information regarding cremation as well. I will always feel like I will have piece of mind knowing that when my other animals reach the time when they are suffering that MOVH will be there to help them pass away humanely and be there for me compassionately and patiently to be able to grieve and say goodbye to my much loved pet(s).
Took our dog after she ate a few things she shouldn't have. They were helpful and caring.
They didn't take my dog. What kind of emergency hospital would not accomodate an animal that needs treatment.
Unfortunately this is not a good review. I will explain. My dog went to Moveh in July for the first time. He had extreme tachycardia, and collapse. This went on several times. The cardiologist did testing and had us wear a holter moniter, with no results. His symptoms persisted. We ending up spending nearly $8000 with no results, so we just quit going. They did say they would keep running tests ad infinity. Geez it'd be nice to be rich. Anyhow we made an appointment in Michigan but it took months to get in. Finally on our appointment, the cardio there knew right away what was wrong with our dog, just by symptoms, but did an echo to be sure. He had heart damage because of his condition going on for so long. Now he is on medication and it's totally under control!! All this cost us $410 american. I cannot believe a cardiologist could not figure out what was wrong with him right away, when the one in Michigan sure did. I will never use Moveh again, and felt they just wanted more & more money. Veterinary Cardiology Consultants in Novi MIchigan are amazing!
In brief to my experience - Dr. Kelly was completely unsympathetic, unpassionate toward dogs, extremely unknowledgeable to which every answer to my questions were “I’m not sure.” She took me for a complete run for my money. Over $3,000 later with broken promises, we lost our dog’s life. Perhaps if I had not dealt with Dr. Kelly my experience would have been different and I would have saved a lot of money. Wait time is horrendous – even for EMERGENCIES! If possible please avoid this clinic; I am still heartbroken over the loss of my beloved dog and my traumatic experience here.
Friendly and professional. Handled our end-of-life choice with care and dignity.
My Great Dane "Lucy" needed eyelid surgery to correct a condition called "Entropion". Lucy's surgery was very successful. I was very satisfied with the level of care and attention Lucy received. Dr. Richads and her Staff did a wonderful job in correcting Lucy's eyelids. The Veterinarian, Vet Tech's and Office Staff were very professional....Thanks again MOEVS!
The worst facility. No compassion at all. Dr Han was very pushy insisting we had to put our dog down "now" and hovered over us until he did. They put our dog down in a multi-use room with very little privacy. There was another animal in there getting examined with other people there. Traumatizing to think about still to this day. I called to inform them of our experience a year later as we couldn't bring ourselves to do so earlier. I asked the receptionist if I should even bother and she noted "it's up to you if you want to give your opinion" like she could care less.
The service was great and they took care of my distressed kitten right away. They do charge a lot since it's an ER. Believe they could charge less...
They took great care of our cat.
This place was wonderful in helping us with our cat.
Visited last week with my dog in a terrible condition. Doctor Vasile D. I can write a long essay about this guy. I come from a family of 7 doctors and have learned to appreciate a good one. Doctor D and his assistant Stephanie saved my dog and my family. My daughter was on a verge of a nervous breakdown. This doctor is a gem with extremely logical and knowledgeable approach; has extremely solid emergency experience. Most importantly, doctor D-has a heart. 12 out of 10 for him and his team. I am writing to the college of veterinarians to reward people like him.
They were very courteous and took the necessary Covid 19 precautions.
My dog has been under their care for 4 years now. She has done very well and they continue to give her the best in diagnostics and care. I would recommend anyone needing a consult, 2nd opinion, or specialized care ongoing, you can't go wrong at MOVEH. My girls has seen most of the specialists and Dr Huffman and her expertise saved my girl's life when she first became ill.
Worst place for your pet to go. My dog was in an accident! They made us panic took our money didn’t even do X-ray to find out what’s wrong. working in a health care profession I know when emergency comes in with a possible bone injury first thing to do is emergency exam that includes X-Ray on humans. They gave us no hope on our dog, Quotes $1900 plus to keep him over night with no hope .Dr had no sympathy he tried to make us feel guilty and kept smiling at us While we are panicking . Just a money grab. I took my dog home he is alive walking and playing again and back to normal. He had no bone injuries. Don’t waste your time and money and go here. I’m sure it’s better to keep your pet at home rather than taking him to these idiots.
Dr. Gauthier is so nice and very kind, she explains very well and gives all the options for your pet.
Very professional and considerate. I was there to see neurology for my cat who was having seizures out of the blue. They provided all the possibilities of what it could be. Options for what they could do and were clear they understood not everyone can afford some of the options. No judgements. They gave me two estimates for low end fee and the highest possible fee so no surprises.
This has been our goto location for emergency cat care. Staff has always been friendly and they're always upfront about costs on longer term stays. I have no concerns about their skills as vets and they definitely have our pets best interest in mind.
Our girl was taken in as an emergency initially then as an Oncology patient. The part that's hard is the scared news, money and of course welfare of the pet. It was terribly stressful. The staff, techs and doctors are very compassionate. We've still got our dog that continues to require treatment. Eventually we know what the end will bring. But we've got into a sort of living in the present routine. Thank you for everyone being there.
Tons of green space around for dogs, portapotty in the lot, great communication.
I would not recommend this place she looked at the results from Kitchener and Cambridge hospital and told me there was nothing she could do charge me $382 I brought him back to my vet he put them on steroids and he's doing much better
My dog required a TPLO surgery on his right rear leg several years ago. At the time the closest vet to us that could perform this surgery was in Oakville. The consult with the vet was about 15 minutes and the surgery was done the next morning. He was discharged the next morning and we carried him out on a blanket because he could not stand or walk. He peed himself every 20 minutes for almost 5 days. He also would not eat or go to the bathroom for almost a week no matter what we tried. It was 6 days before he could get up and TRY to walk with MUCH effort on our part. I called the vet several times to question this and I was told this was NORMAL !. His recovery time was about 1 month before he would start to move his leg to balance himself. This October he required the same procedure on his OTHER knee. There was now someone closer to us so we opted for PJ in Espanola. The consult was over 2 HOURS with him explaining in detail the procedure . The morning after the surgery my dog was released and WALKED out with a little help. He had something to eat on the way home and was walking around slowly the NEXT DAY . He did not pee himself once and was going to the bathroom regularly. Within two weeks his cast was off and he was walking on his leg, with a bit of a limp, but still about 6 WEEKS ahead of the procedure done in Oakville. Im not saying Oakville Animal Hospital did it wrong, but you be the judge.
My puppy broke her leg just before she was 5 months old. After calling around to several vet clinics who had 8 hour wait times, we took her to Mississauga Oakville Emergency Vet. They took her in and got her on pain meds very quickly to ease her discomfort. Because of Covid, we couldn't go in with her but they called with all the updates explaining options at each stage. Because it was evening, the surgery department wasn't there and she couldn't be seen by them until the morning. They gave us the options and pricing of them keeping her over night or us taking her and bringing her back in the morning. We opted to leave her with them overnight for her comfort. She had her surgery consult and surgery by early afternoon the next day. We were able to pick her up the following day. The clinic was great at communicating throughout the whole process and her care was excellent. When we picked her up, they explained all of her follow up care she needed and they had booked her weekly cast changes. When they changed her cast each week, they used different colors and put different designs on her which I thought was a very sweet touch. This was a very traumatic experience but they definitely made it easier. It was definitely expensive but I didn't think it was unreasonable like some emergency vets (2 nights stay plus surgery, plus 3 sets of x-rays was around 5k) I had trupanian pet insurance which covered a good portion of it. Overall, I would highly recommend them in an emergency situation given my experience
Was sent here directly by family vet where our little man went into the ICU for a few days. Everyone was so kind, been back for two follow up visits and again everyone very kind and informative. Even received text mesg update along with picture in the mornings when in ICU.
Very good staff was a bit of a wait but it was Dec 31...found the problems and treated and we wher happy with the results...
Excellent care in the hardest of times. So compassionate!
MOVEH literally saved my dog Tobias' life. The Internal Medicine, Surgery and ICU department are incredible and I owe them everything! My dog is my child, and although it was a very stressful time, they made the whole experience easier. I'm in the Vet Med field my self, so I understand long wait times between communications, and such. Especially with COVID, this is to be expected, we are all busy! But at the end of the day, MOVEH did and does an incredible job, and is filled with amazing specialists, RVTs, and vet staff. Highly recommend them if your pet should need their services.
I really liked it. Service was fantastic. Dental doctor was nice. She explained everything. I recommend. With covid situation they are well aware and set up the facility nice and thoughtful.
As a family who has never had interactions with the team at MOVS prior to the last few days, my wife and I are so pleased with our recent experience. What was supposed to be a simple CT scan and biopsy to confirm prostatic cancer for our 8 year old shepherd-husky turned into a time-granting/life saving unforeseen surgery. From the beginning, Dr. Gauthier’s communication has been top-notch with several phone calls and emails. She kept us up to date and informed throughout the day and sent us home with specific instructions and post-operation care guidelines. What was most impressive was that even as she was sharing treatment options, including saying goodbye, Dr. Gauthier spoke with compassion, consideration, and professionalism that helped make the difficult conversation easier. She is a true animal lover and treated us as family, going above and beyond to support us during this hard time. Dr. Gauthier and her team have given us weeks (hopefully months) with our sweet boy rather than days. For that, we are forever grateful and couldn’t recommend them enough.
Mixed reviews on this place. Obviously great to have a 24 hour emergency for our sick pets but the place feels uninviting. Again, for an emergency, it needs to be functional more than aesthetically pleasing but when you're stressed about a pet emergency, a warmer feel to the waiting room would be nice. It's not awful, by any means. There are comfortable chairs and a vending machine on site as well. The staff were hit or miss. First time, greeter/vet assistant was super nice but the doctor was not friendly, she just short of accused us of being bad pet-parents because we were struggling to get the cats weight down (due to diabetes/hyperthyroidism, btw). The 2nd time, the person at the front was okay, not overly friendly but nice enough and the Doctor was great! Reassured us these type of medical issues are tricky and also gave us some suggestions to help manage our cats reoccurring issues, which no one else had done before.
We had to take our 7 month old kitten here as she was hiding and crying out when we picked her up. I cannot tell you how amazing everyone was. There were constant follow-up calls, and each one was done with compassion and caring. 24 hours later our kitten was back home, healed and happy. Other reviews talk about price - it's emergency vet care, it's not cheap, but it's worth it. Hopefully, we'll never have to use them again, but if we do, I know my fur baby is in amazing hands.
Very professional in all aspects. I appreciated the patient explanations and the fact they called me frequently to give me updates throughout the day when my pet had been admitted for a day-long procedure.
This happened a few years ago, but it was quite traumatic for all those involved. My girlfriends black lab mix had an obstruction in his intestine (small corn cob) and could not pass stool or eat as a result. The first surgery was to remove the obstruction (simple enough?) but the doctor sewed up my dog with a MEDICAL TOOL LEFT IN HIS BODY! As a result this caused a massive infection that they did not catch until it was too late. Two surgeries later (to remove the tool and stool that was NOT removed in the first surgery) a five year old dog had to be put down. A 5 year old dog was put down due to this places negligent actions. And no one should in any circumstances trust this place with the lives of your loved ones. -5 Stars
0 star.My dog died because of those guys.Emergency,but waiting time 6 hours.Money grab,money,money,money.$2000 for nothing.F... Y..
There are some really great specialists in this clinic that will genuinely try to help your pet. Even though there might be some delays with administrative portion, if ur cat is in a critical state you will have no issues whatsoever.
Went in in a panic super worried about my pup ! They took my dog waffle in right away, the doctor and nurse saw him right away and brought my pup back in less than 10 mins ! I’m sooooo thankful for thier hard work , thier service is impeccable! Amanda on the front desk is AMAZING both on the phone and in person ! Thank you thank you a million times for helping my dog waffle and his tick ! We are so grateful ! It’s the kind of situation where I don’t want to come in because I don’t want my dog sick but will for sure come in if we ever need to! Im so so appreciative. Thank you ! Highly recommend! Hopefully you love your experience as much as I did !
My dog got extremely sick and had to be brought into the emergency room. The staff there was very attentive, helpful, and kind. I cannot express enough how great they were with us and with our dog. They provided us with regular updates and even sent us photos of him. As scared as we were for our dog, the staff did everything in their power to help us feel comfortable, and they provided excellent care for him, making us much more relieved knowing he’s in good hands. Thank you to this wonderful team for working so hard and being great at what they do (especially Alana and Christine)!
We were told by our emergency vet that MOVEC had surgeons 24/7, that they had ultrasound and we would have answers. I wanted to go to OVC, but the transfer was set up and we drove all the way to Mississauga in the middle of the night. Intake was awful, they took her and the receptionist was curt and refused the form with how I filled it out (using bullet form information on her symptoms) We were told there was no surgeon. And no on-call ultrasound technician. No one was available to do anything for her that would be anything more than palliative care. Hours later... The vet wouldn’t answer when I asked whether she was given pain meds prior to her X-rays, the quality of the X-rays indicated she was most likely spasming when she was restrained for them. The only good thing about the whole ordeal was the euthanasia because at least she wasn’t suffering any longer.
Just want to shout out Catherine. Really nice girl, made my experience as good as it could be considering the circumstances.
We had to take our dog here over a holiday long weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and the doctor phoned multiple times while we waited outside to run through various options of medication. It wasn't cheap but we were certainly glad they were available to us and extremely grateful for their help.
Thank you!!!! ???? ????❤❤❤❤????????????????????⚕️????
Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.
They said my Dog needed to be put down. Then 30 mins later she was fine. That makes me happy. But questions thier SOPs.
Excellent customer service. Dr. Krayz was thorough and informative. Giving you the time to understand all the details. My first choice in after-hours/emergency pet care.
This place is horrible!! I took my dog in to see a neurologist for a 10:45am appointment. They didn't end up seeing my animal until one hour later. When we arrived in the meeting room. The doctors spent less then 2 minutes on her and told me to wait. The the vet tech came back and tried to push me into a $3000 dollar MRI. After I refused, she rudely walked away and then the vet came back to give me other options. During this time, he continued to push for me and gave me no other real alternative. I became frustrated and demanded for my dog and left. My wife called another vet for a second opinion and they said they should have started with a x-ray exam first and not jump to such a huge conclusion. After reading all the other reviews I can see that they do not care for animals at all. This place should be shut down!!! If you have a vet emergency, please take them the the Clarkson location. They are more compassionate of your feelings and will try and give you step by step options on what to do next for saving your dog along with considering a much more cost efficient option instead of trying to take advantage of you. They will call you back the next day to follow up as well as a free secondary exam.
Horrible !!!!!!! Don’t waste your time there! I will see what I can do to try to get this place investigated!! What a waste of FOUR hours Tonight!!!!! Still didn’t see my dog....and the staff is super rude!! Rude!!!!
Nicely equipped place. Staff great and caring.
My mom's senior Bull Terrier declined quickly and we ended up at MOVEH over the weekend. The veterinary staff were kind and compassionate and I feel Zane was well cared for during his overnight stay. They provided their recommendations and they ensured he had the ultrasound quickly on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the results confirmed what we had thought and he was laid to rest. I'm thankful for the care we received during a very difficult time.
If your fur baby needs emergency care, this is the place you need. Everyone is lovely, kind and truly caring. They reassured our family and explained things in so much detail. We are grateful to them for the care our little guy received.
Good service, thorough team. As a pet owner you are prepared to drop $$$$$ going in and it is worth every penny.
Great location, lots of parking easy to get to
They are very supportive and did all they could to save my Jake thank you to the whole staff...... only one thing always get a second opinion when dealing with Dr. Gauthier if it wasn't for her, my Jake would be most likely alive
Even during a pandemic their service was amazing, and the doctor was very kind and knowledgeable.
The cardiologist and veterinary staff here saved my dog's life. I was referred by my regular vet because of their expertise and available resources and it was the best decision. Yes it was expensive but they acted quickly and gave her the treatment she needed to survive a life-threatening heart situation. I am forever grateful to Dr. Haas and everyone at MOVEH.
Always pleased, these people are the best. So many 911 situations, so many easy treatments. And they're all so nice and compassionate!
Beyond amazing. So glad I took my cat here. They really took care of my sick cat, stayed overnight, and came back home 90% back to himself. Sent me picture of my cat with a heart emoticon via text to show me that he's doing well. When I brought him back home, I realized they even trimmed his nails, and took care of his chin acne!! Dr. Benson and Dr Webb were super knowledgeable, explained everything in such details in such friendly ways that I actually managed to understand everything. Staff there are also amazing. The wait time might be a bit long but it's definitely worth the visit if your pet needs specialist care or any urgent care
Upon arriving at MOVEH with the referral of our family vet; our German Shepard mix was admitted quickly. After an examination of our dog they quickly and confidently diagnosed the same issue as our family vet. He was suffering from a potentially fatal disease known as HGE and needed immediate and aggressive treatment. When we arrived our boy was completely out of it, his tail that’s usually always up was down and he kept his head close to the floor as he walked. They recommended 48 hours of hospitalized support. Within 48 hours I saw my boy come out with a hop and a skip; completely restored to his best self. They walked us through the requirements for the rest of his recovery and assured us we can contact them if we had any further questions. The staff at MOVEH are fully responsible for saving the life of my dog and I will confidently bring him back if the need ever arises.
Fantastic service, staff are friendly, encouraging and supportive. The vet's give a great detail of information not leaving any gaps inbetween.
Had to take our new puppy in last night after he had some strange breathing sounds. Took him in right away and ever though they were extremely busy they kept us up to date with updates and he him on some meds. Very reasonable pricing for the services. Our pup is feeling much better today and it on the mend! Thanks to everyone on staff!
Always a great experience at moveh! Indy loves everyone and they treat her like she is theirs! They have the best blood donor program!
We were referred to the internal medicine department for our dog who has had recurring urinary tract and skin infections. The clinic was clean and although we were slightly delayed, seemed to be run very well. We saw Dr. Hanselman - she was wonderful! She took a full history of our girl, walked us through her recommendations, gave us an estimate (we knew from our vet what to expect cost-wise going in) and took great care of our girl! She reviewed the ultrasound results and provided her thoughts and recommendations. Although the test results were virtually inconclusive, the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend the internal medicine department.
All the staff there are very professional and knowledable. They treated our puppy very quickly and were very empathetic. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you!
This really is a state of art facility. They offer everything your pet could ever need from blood transfusions, imaging equipment and ICU. All of the veterinarians, specialists and staff are extremely skilled. There's a lot of other negative reviews/comments on here regarding price but if you love your pet and you choose to take them somewhere like this to help them it is worth every penny. I don't feel we were over charged for any services. Unfortunately our beloved beagle was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma they really did everything they could and offered all of the options available to us. They did not pressure us into unnecessary procedures and were 100% honest the whole way through. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pets, after all they are our family and they deserve the best care that you can give them. ????????
We brought our beautiful girl here. She was 15+ and we were soooo lucky to have her for 8 of those years. By the time we arrived she had passed. There was no saving her. The staff were immediate upon arrival to try and gave us time with her after they cleaned her up and made her look like her beautiful self. We were given all the time we needed, they set us up with what we wanted for aftercare. They charged us absolutely nothing and were beautiful to us.

My actual vet is terrible. This hospital has taken me in and I'm very grateful for it. The customer service is spectacular and the work is wonderful. I'm very happy that I stumbled upon this hospital. 10/10 rating.
After reading many negative reviews, I felt I needed to write this to all furry friend parents. I just lost my beautiful one and a half year old Dexter, a Chihuahua, just way too soon! Yes they took him right away they tried everything to help me;maybe they didn't diagnose him right away with what he had, but their love and their compassion and care for Dexter was above and beyond ! We bring our pets to emergency because we want to do everything to keep them alive. We know our pets best, but the outcome isn't always what we want. We will you pay anything to have your sweet loving pet back in your arms & I would pay anything for Dexter back????‼️ P.S. I balled my eyes ????????out writing this as I so miss Dexter????????❣️ I know they wouldn't be in this business if they didn't love what they do, but they do their best????????❣️ Dexter RIP????❣️
Caring, compassionate, attentive and knowledgeable. That is how I would describe the Mississauga/ Oakville Veterinary clinic. Their emergency service is the most responsive and very best around!!. And their staff are the most wonderful caring people when it comes to looking after your pet. Look no further, as I trust only them when it comes to my pets. As they are a 5 star service all the way.
$8000-$10000 surgery?! Robbery. Avoid. Our dog is 1 year old and swallowed a small stick.
Last night on March 29th 2021 at around 10-10:30pm, my husband called a few emergency vets prior to calling Oakville/Mississauga because a lot of the hospitals were saying it’s a 2-4 hour wait. We call Oakville and my husbands in a panic because our dog is not doing well at all with a fever of 107, blood in her stool and isolating herself. He asked the girl who answered the phone how long the wait would be and the woman that answered also said 2-3 hours; my husband asked in distress “why everywhere seems so long” just because we are nervous and love our dog so much, we just didn’t think she could wait that long. He did not ask this in a bad tone or angrily, just in a worried tone to vent. The woman responds so condescendingly and rude as if she was annoyed that he asked this; talking to him like a child and explaining how hospitals work..not even thinking to sympathize that he just asked about wait times due to the concern about our dogs life. I know everyone’s stressed but come on, you don’t have to speak to a worried customer as if they are childish for asking a question due to being worried and under distress. We aren’t ones to really give negative feed back, but this was very unacceptable. After my husband explained he’s not looking to criticize the process or how long things take..he was more concerned that our dog didn’t have 2 hours time to wait due to her state. After this my husband was already upset with the unprofessionalism and hung up. We took our dog to Burlington emergency hospital instead where they empathized, comforted our thoughts and got us in ASAP; they were amazing.
I have one positive comment, as well as many negative. The receptionist Kayla - very compassionate and very polite but don't be mistaken, this is all about gouging your wallet in your most vulnerable time. I cannot stress this enough. My dog was in severe respitory distress, not breathing. When I booked my dog in I was asked "Who will be my financial guarantee?" - Sorry what? Yes, before they would even look at my dog they needed to know who would pay the bill if I couldn't. This is completely unacceptable, not to mention offensive and I have filed a complaint with the Board. My dog is dying and you want a "co-signer" for payment. My response was this. "It doesnt matter how large the bill is, I can pay it and don't ask me that again" I paid the $6000 they were holding me hostage for which was a 75% deposit. When the doctor spoke to me to update me on my dogs health, she would not discuss a single thing with me until I looked over the emailed predetermination charges showing the bill could superseed the deposit. She also advised me to make this decision quickly "she doesn't have much time". When the difficult decision came to euthenize my dog Dr. Progosa (the death doctor) was so ignorant, rude, condesending, abrupt and COLD. This Animal Hospital needs some serious education and sensativity training. They look down at you if they don't feel you can afford their services. Animal care is based on your financial resources IMO and nothing else.
This place handles so many pets and there are so many doctors you can forget getting ongoing one on one personalized care. My experience with this place was negative primarily because of the lack of communication between doctor and client. I would not recommend getting service here unless you had no other choice. There are not many animal hospitals in the area capable of doing all the fancy tests so I had no choice but to come here. There is one in Toronto. Maybe it is better, I do not know. I will check it out next time I need a visit. For the amount of money they charge for services I should have better service and communication. Or consider getting treatment in the USA.
I cannot say enough about the staff at the clinic. When our dog came in, he accidentally got a prescription medication, we were a mess. Dr Sparks and the staff explained everything and we knew he was being left in safe hands. We knew our dog was terrified being away from us and when we called to check on him we were told the staff made a sling for him to be carried around helping him settle. He got better and is home and we are so very thankful. Professional, trustworthy quality care lovingly provided to an important member is our family - our dog Oscar.
Dr. Progosa and her staff were heartless, the clinic is only interested in money and not your pet. They mistreated and misdiagnosed our 4 month old puppy and as a result he is now going blind in his left eye. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL EITH THIS CLINIC. We have been to two other hospitals after and were even referred back to them but the clinic knowing what she did wrong; refused to take our case and we were referred to VEC at Yonge and Bloor by the second Vet we saw but it was too late and now our puppy has developed severe uvititis in the posterior chamber of his eye causing him to go blind in one eye. He is only 4 month and these people were so heartless and refused us because they made a misdiagnosis. Shame on you all and you be sure that I am taking legal action against the clinic and Dr Progosa . I have also reported them to consumer Alert so other people don't go through the same emotionally and financial distress as our family has.
No vet available Sob Don't advertise 24 hour...no vets on premises
Was not impressed at all by Dr. RIchards who did not put our minds at ease at all about our dog with cataracts. I started by asking a logical question about the progression of the disease and she quite arrogantly told me to wait until the end of her spiel for questions and she proceeded to deliver a rehearsed message for five minutes that was unnecessary as it did not address what I wanted to know.BLAH Blah blah I agree with others that it seems to be a money grab and no compassion or concern for what a dog or dog owner is going through. She came across cold, clinical and completely uncaring! WIll not be going back for a follow up, please advise another clinic to go to in the area!
Literally saved our dog's life!
They were not as professional as one would expect. The doctors on call did not communicate to each other nor communicated with our family vet properly. With the inconsistency of information, different doctors said different things, and suggested different treatment. They acted overly profit oriented. One of the vets who spoke to me on the phone was rather rude. The bill was close to 4000 and we received no diagnosis. Many things happened during our encounter with this hospital. One thing I’d like to share here because it was RIDICULOUS. My cat went into the hospital because our family vet suspected liver problems(liver enzyme elevated according to blood work). We were expecting to get a quicker ultrasound through the emergency. The vet on call called us and said our cat couldn’t pee and maybe he has a blockage in his bladder/urethra. She then suggested to put our cat under general anesthesia with a catheter for 2 days observation. And gave me a close to $3000 estimate. Over the phone I heard the background was chaotic (dogs howling) and knowing my cat, I asked the doctor, maybe my cat couldn’t pee because he’s too scared. She was like”fine but that’s your prerogative”. Later she called me back said hey your cat peed after I moved him to a quite room. SMH a hundred times. Are you kidding me??? What if I said yes? My cat would have went through a series of unnecessary treatments. How do I feel? Umm you’re trying to scam me? Sorry not sorry that’s how I feel. I strongly suggest you try to avoid this place.
They took extremely good care of my cat and I was met with compassion and care. They were always willing to speak anytime I called to check-up. The price was also unbeatable... it was half of what another clinic quoted. My cat is now home, happy, and healthy!
To all the staff who made our baby Chloé last hours comfortable, thank you. We appreciated the updates on our girl and your patience with us calling every hour or so. I know you all tried your hardest to keep my girl alive and she was in the best care ever. To the young lady who let us grieve our girl one last time,I appreciate your patience with us. Thank you for everything you all done,I now know it was my girl time to go over the rainbow Bridge.
They are so amazing here. The facility is top notch and the staff are amazing.
By far the best vet hospital I have ever dealt with. They will do anything and everything to help your pet in any way they can. Most caring and compassionate staff ever! If I could provide more than 5 stars I would.
***If you have an emergency - go to Lakeshore Vet Hospital.*** We took our beautiful boxer home in May 2009. In the middle of the night our dog Sydney began vomiting live worms, because she took what turned out to be a bad batch of deworming medication at the breeder (half the pups in her litter got sick, half did not!). We took her to this clinic immediately in the evening to assess her as she seemed very ill. She was initially triaged and we were asked to wait for a couple of hours until she finally saw the vet. He was very dodgy about what was wrong, told us she needed to be sedated, an IV drip administered to help her with dehydration and admitted to the hospital for 24 hours of observation. Our bill had racked up very quickly, but when we asked how he knew she was dehydrated, he said because shes vomiting. We put a bowl of water down and she happily walked over to it and drank from it. It was at that time that I picked my dog up and walked out the front door. Sure enough, the next day she was treated with new deworming medication and was immediately better. 7 years later, our Sydney woke up acting very off in the morning. She didn’t use the washroom, was drooling and lethargic, wouldn’t lay down. I called my Dr Sjonessen again who told me that she was in distress and we should take her to the closest xray machine available, that he was in surgery that day and couldn’t see her until after 4 pm. At 1pm, lifted her in the car and caused what seemed to be a lot of discomfort for our girl and reluctantly took her to the Mississauga Oakville Emergency veterinary clinic to be diagnosed on the strength of the recommendation from our vet. On arrival we were charged $100 for having an emergency, Sydney was taken to the back room to be triaged. After about an hour of waiting, I prompted the front desk to see what the situation was. They told me she was triaged and was fine, that she could come out and wait with me and that no one could see her for the next little while. My poor dog came out to the waiting room where she was drooling, swollen tummy, lethargic and could barely move. I went back to the desk and asked that they review her chart more closely, she was acting in a VERY strange manor. They reviewed it again and told me for an incremental $200 they could get her in to see internal medicine, but it wouldn’t be until at least 6pm. At this point, it was after 4pm and I decided to call my vet to see if he could look at her. He was free and willing to do some overtime and wait for us to drive across Mississauga in rush hour traffic to give her the attention she needed. On first impression he told us our Sydney was in distress, her vitals were weak and she was dying. He said she needed an xray immediately on her lungs and potentially an emergency surgery. He called the Oakville Mississauga Emergency Vet clinic who told him they wouldn’t be able to see her now until after 7pm. He got her into the Lakeshore Vet Hospital who took her in immediately and very compassionately cared for our Sydney as she died to a ruptured tumour in her lungs. She was drowning in her own blood all day. Luckily, armed with knowledge and a fact base which this clinic established in less than 10 minutes of being there, we made the humane decision and put her down, breaking our hearts. I am convinced that negligent treatment put forth by this sham of a pet hospital caused my dog undue stress, suffering and inevitably her life because they didn’t perform the baseline expectation of due diligence. The follow up after this incident was atrocious, there was no sympathy whatsoever and no recourse of action now after almost 6 months since costing my pet her life. Seeing the reviews online and a lot of the recurring trends, my hope is no one visits this clinic ever in the case of an emergency and save yourself the trouble and go to Lakeshore where they were phenomenal, and if you’re looking for a great family vet, Dr Erik Sjonessen of Cawthorpe is a 5/5 on google and for good reason.
Took my dog in since she was throwing up on a Sunday after her spay surgery. She was mostly fine but I took her in because she had had surgery done. Of course, I was happy to see that this place was open and they took her in and checked her vitals. My dog is quite anxious since she was neglected and abused by the previous holder, so I called in to take her home after she was stable and not seen for several hours. Once I picked her up, I saw that her medical shirt was drenched in her own urine and some parts had even dried off, meaning, she was neglected once they determined she was stable and was sitting in her own pee for over a couple hours. I was expecting her to be happy to see me and maybe cry a little for being excited, but she was just digging the ground, pulling her leash away from that hospital as much as she could. She was not okay and extremely agitated for close to 30 mins after leaving that place. I honestly don't know what they did to her in there but she was more stressed that I have ever seen her in her entire life. I know this review would not stop anyone from taking their dog in for an emergency since you only want to make sure they are seen, but I would definitely avoid this place if there were other options available.
Our dog got suddenly very sick. Everyone at the clinic was very compassionate and helpful to us and our family at this hard time.
Top notch all the way!!! Extremely clean, staff are extremely helpful and compassionate and I highly recommend this veterinary emergency hospital!
Staff, nurses and Veterinarian doctors have been very helpful, supportive and empathetic..I have relied on their services 3 times, since 2015 and have always been thankful for their service, even when I had to make the most difficult decisions, there and then, for my pets.
I've been here multiple times, and every time they take almost an hour to come out, and multiple hours to give me an update on my dog. I understand they are busy but this is an emergency clinic for a reason and I shouldn't spend hours wondering if my dog is okay. over priced all they do is take advantage of you
I transferred here from another vet hospital and the attention was excellent. Everyone I spoke to was super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
Took my elderly cat here late at night to be put down. He was old and having serious breathing issues. It was time. Due to the late hour, we were forced to bring our 5 year old with us and she wanted to remain in the room. Not only did one of the techs look at our daughter and give us the stink eye for allowing our daughter to stay, they let my cat wrestle away, jump off the table they had him on and he suffered a heart attack before the needle was given. It was a horrifying end for a beloved pet that gave us so much joy. I will never go to this clinic again.
Very compassionate staff. Explained to us all that was wrong with Razzle, our dog in guiding us to the toughest decision to euthanize. They wheeled him outside and gave the 5 of us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes, before allowing my wife and son to go in with him for his last moments. Thank you to the doctors and staff. We will miss you Razzle Dazzle.
Ok here's the thing, be prepared for crazy wait times, I'm talking 5 hours after triage for a doctor to even look at your pet, they are super busy here. Staff and doctors are amazing once you're pet does get seen.
We have dealt with Dr.Gauthier and the oncology team for almost 2 years until yesterday we lost our beloved Vedder. I will always recommend this clinic as they are compassionate and caring and loved Vedder until the end. We had a choice at the beginning to go here or OVC . I’m so glad we made the choice to come here
Very professional establishment. Yes, pricey but worth it. Thank you Dr Ghosal for taking care of our beautiful Tesla so patiently & professionally.
Thank you so much for the incredible service you provided to my family. I am so impressed at how well you treated my dog, and how well you handled her condition. The kindness that we received during every update phone call was truly beyond any service of any other clinic. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is in an emergency situation with their animal.
Fast, responsive and very helpful! We had an emergency with our dog on Christmas day and they were able to help us. Awesome ????
They are by far the best. Took the best care of my puppy. They followed up with me along the way. I had a great experience.
Knowledgeable, competent, caring Doctors and Staff. I am fully confident that my cat is getting the best treatment for him. Wonderful clinic, especially considering how busy it is. The staff are so efficient that the wait is never too long.
Never again!! $1200 ultrasound
Worst experience with any “emergency” company I have ever faced. If a dog owner calls and says there’s something wrong with them and you offer little to no help, and refer us to another service (poison control) which makes no sense since our other two dogs are UNAFFECTED is disgusting. They have no passion or care for you and your pet. When we arrived after our dog throwing up and hiding in the corner, a sign on the door stated we needed to call the front desk to be let in. They then proceeded to have us wait on hold for 20 minutes while they “discussed” what they thought was best and came up with NO SOLUTION. They DID NOT LET US IN after having us on hold and told us to wait for them to call us in. We did not receive a call for another FOURTY MINUTES. Absolutely absurd service. After reading other reviews we decided to leave because it is CLEAR they disgustingly mistreat the emergency services. Unless your animal is bleeding out, they won’t have a care in the world for you or your animal. I would never in my life recommend this place to anyone. If you can, do your pet a favour and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Excellent service and great communication from the staff. Very professional, thorough, and caring - they make sure your pet gets the best care possible.
My standard poodle had non-productive retching and bloat. I live right next to this clinic and they declined to see me as their ER was closed. I understand ER can be busy and non-urgent cases should wait. Turns out my boy had a twisted stomach (GDV) and needed emergency surgery. Thank God VEC Toronto took us in and he’s recovering well from surgery. It was a very stressful experience trying to find a hospital that would take him in. He could’ve died if we waited any longer!! It seems unethical to me to turn away true emergencies.
brought cat in who was suffering from rat poisoning and after telling us that the only humane thing to do was to euthanize him, they nevertheless tacked on to the bill oxygen and a sedative, bringing the bill up to $350. they then told us it would be another $600-something to euthanize him - which made all of the other services completely unnecessary. complete scammers.
Our shitzu pup Lucy swallowed a piece of a puppy toy. Our regular vet is at least 30+ min away, and they recommended taking her somewhere closer asap. This location was 5min away. They were able to remove the piece, and were very communicative and careful. I believe it was Dr. Paige that took care of our pup and she was great! Thank you to all who work there!
Excellent. Kind, direct, compassionate and patient. This is where my son and I said goodbye to our beautiful cat and passed him over to loving, gentle hands.
Very caring staff. Well equipped medical facility. A bit expensive but most of the clients usually have some insurance coverage.
Took my dog here and I will never take her here again. The staff are friendly but the doctors don't listen. My dogs symptoms where shaking, wasn't active and her stomach is tense ( which they even stated). She went to the washroom in the morning a bit but hasn't since (pooped). The doctor said there is a possibility that my dog ate THC or marijuana. They did an ultrasound and told me that her urinary track is good but did not state whether her intestines where full. I told them that my dog is a very nervous, has anxiety and gets scared easily, the doctor said that those are the symptoms of a dog that has eaten THC or Marijuana. Again not listening to my words, as i should know my own dog and how she acts in certain circumstances. They gave her a charcoal medicine. That did not help because my dog still has the symptoms. I will be going to another hospital that me and Tia have been before and I trust their opinion a lot more.
Horrible, they said our cat had a tumour under her tongue without any testings, and also prescribed a really dangerous medicine as we found out today. I hope they will close that clinic ASAP. Or they just should change staff to a better one???? our cat was stressed for two days, she couldn’t even walk properly after she she was being given 3 anaesthesias. Today we went to a normal clinic where they told us a completely different things, and they also send us to do some testing with our cat, before saying that she has horrible things, like tumour ????thanks to today’s clinic she feel MUCH more better
Nice clinic that provides updates via text and leaves detailed updates. I really like the fact that they give you updates every step of the way. However, place seems very very busy. Like most hospitals, be prepared to wait 2-3 hours, depending on the current situation and how servere the conditions of the animals they have. They have strict COVID-19 protocols which makes sense. You're not allowed in unless they really need you and communication will be done via phone. You will need to wait outside in your car. This clinic has tons of parking space. The great thing is that they even have a portable washroom in the parking lot which is very considerate of them. Unfortunately, I'm unable to give this place the full 5 star rating because they seem to be very busy and it is quite a wait. The oncology clinic never called us back after a referral from our vet so we had to go somewhere else in Toronto and we had to wait about 45 minutes for our pick up after an overnight stay because the doctor forgot to finish the billing estimate. At the end of the day it's an emergency room. It's never going to be 5 stars unless they can address the wait times or make pets live forever. Thanks for taking care of our companion.
Amazing team. Everyone was so friendly from the receptionists to the techs to the doctors. Everyone took such great care of my boy and I felt confident he was in the best hands possible.
A year ago my French bulldog suffered a broken jaw from leaping off a first floor balcony (about ten feet high!!) We brought him to MOVEH and although it ended up being quite expensive, we are so happy we did. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable . They kept us up to date on everything that was going on while our dog stayed there overnight and during the surgery. So glad to say our dog Sumo is 100% better! You would never know it even happened!! It’s too bad that it was so expensive, if only animals had OHIP. Lol Thank you MOVEH!!!
Great place for all your pets needs. Great staff and great service
They are wonderful! The oncology team is lovely and have really helped my baby boy get better
The staff here are amazing and caring and discovered what was wrong with my cat within 2 hours of admittance( I had previously gone to my vet and another emergency hospital and no answers). Though they were not able to save him( disease was too advanced) I at least had answers. Yes it's a bit on the expensive side but you have specialists on staff. If your pet is having an emergency bring them here, they will get the best possible care.
My puppy had eaten a 400mg Advil extra strength on Saturday afternoon. They told me to call a Pet Poison control nbr in USA. Cost was going to be $65 USD. They said vet in USA would give me a case # and then I could call them back or take dog in to them and reference my case#. Crazy!!! Very nice call but crazy result. I asked receptionist before ending call wasn't there a vet there who could help me as time was of the essence. I said that she ate a very common headache pill so not like it was some house cleaning product or anything uncommon. She said yes a vet is here and she went to check. She told me vet said to still call USA. This was on Sept 26 @ 3:04 pm. I was able to find a vet online that cost $6 with a quick solution that worked very effectively.
We waited almost 3 hours to see a doctor and I believe reception could have kept us more up to date in where we stood in the queue. Having said this, the care and after care we received for our chocolate lab was amazing! They snuggled her during her overnight visit and I believe comforted her in her time of need. The calls we received afterwards also showed excellent follow up and was appreciated. Overall great experience for us our our fur baby. Would definitely go back if needed. Hoping we don’t though!
Surgery was very expensive for our dog so we had to put her down, but they were very nice and considerate when we did.
Great experience just very expensive.
After a visit to to my regular vet earlier in the day for a suspected bladder infection, my dog took a severe turn for the worse. With no other nearby options at 11pm I went to this clinic. They acted swiftly, trying to revive my dog but unfortunately he was too far gone. The staff and vet were truly compassionate as I held my dog while he was being euthanized and gave me as much time as I needed to say my goodbyes and to explain what they thought had happened. To those who complain about the costs, please consider that veterinary hospital is equivalent to a hospital emergency dept. with similar equipment and staffing behind the scenes. I highly recommend this Veterinary Hospital for Emergencies.
Dr. MAGE and Dr. MARTIN were angels to us and our furbaby. They were kind, compassionate, informative and dealt with our emergency with utmost professiinalism AND humanity. Thank you MOVH and especially to those who helped our baby. Would recommend any day of the week.
My cat started limping for no apparent reason so I took him to his vet. The vet couldn't find anything remarkable so he sent him home with me. Over the next 12 hours he became very lethargic and looked like he was in extreme discomfort. So I looked up a 24 hour vet and luckily this place was open. When I called initially they explained the whole process and it was very well done especially with the COVID situation. While I was unable to physically go inside, they provided round the clock care and updates whenever I called. They also sent an email update with a picture as I was unable to see him. While the cost was high (well over $2000 for a 2-night stay with meds), it was a life and death situation as he had a bladder obstruction so it was well worth it. Thank you to all of the nurses, doctors and technicians working. It was an experience that I will never forget and will definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a pet emergency.
My dog has been there for an emergency allergic reaction that was nearly fatal. They did a phenomenal job not only nursing her back to health but also taking care of her emotionally! Most recently my dog has been there for a minor surgery. They also did an excellent job. They are very professional and caring
Excellent care by a fabulous group of specialists. Dr Huffman is the absolute best, however Neurology is very thorough and has kept good care of my dog. Dr Duque doesnt have the greatest manner toward people but her pet care is great though instructions aren't always crystal clear. If you have an unusual problem I would Highly recommend MOVEH. Their Emergency Specialists are top knotch.
Kristin is a very passionate person helping my Baby Lulu to recover, we need more Therapist like Kristin.
I have used this hospital three times for my two dogs , both mini dachshunds. Two years ago one of my dogs was paralyzed and unable to move her hind legs after a small fall. A surgery administered quickly was successful and after some rehab and hard work , she walks and runs and is back to new. I am forever grateful for this. Recently my other dog , only nine was diagnosed with imha a terrible blood disease for animals and usually in my opinion now , a death sentence. She was put down as a result days later. A blood transfusion and hospital care was not enough to see her through. Continued transfusions and hospital care could have been attempted but understanding this disease and reading blogs on quality of life afterwards helped me come to terms with saying goodbye to my precious dog. The staff were superb in all of this. Emotions run high when our pets are sick or passing. This is the best care centre that one could ask for but it is not cheap. They have after hour surcharges and hospital stays that will cost $1000 s. It’s a hospital that needs to balance their books and therefore you need to expect to pay for care. I don’t begrudge this. Billing is laid out prior to any services rendered. If you don’t have coverage or the means to pay then yes , it’s sad and we have to decline services to our beloved pets , but it’s not the hospitals fault. I will remain a happy customer here and would recommend this hospital to any pet owner. Thanks
Taking excellent care of my dog.
Best vet clinic I've been ever!! Wonderful and caring staff
I would give this Hospital no stars if i could. My only advise if you read this review is RUN from this place! They only care about money, money and more MONEY. My 7 year old maltese baby named Kacey was admitted to this hospital on a Friday evening because we found out she had diabetes and a slight flare up of pancreatitis. Just keep in mind the day she went in she was walking fine, eating, playing, and looked healthy. Our regular vet who referred us to this Hospital said they are the best facility for her, and also have the best vets which we happened to believe and trust. All they had to do was stabilize her condition, her blood sugar and get her home. Instead they did test after test after test, which i read is a way for to send up the cost of the bill, and they definitely went to town with this. The next day we visited, which was Saturday and they said she's not doing better, she's getting worse. But we couldn't do anything but wait and see. The Sunday we went back and visited again, and she was even worse. She couldn't walk, she couldn't lift her head up, she didn't eat or drink since friday with me, and she was breathing very heavily. The vets informed us that she had gotten weak that she couldn't even stand up to go to the bathroom, that she was going right where she layed. And on the Monday she was gone. For basically 2 days of Kacey staying in the ICU it cost $5000 which they needed a 75% downpayment for upfront. There are no payment plans, and they do not care if you do not have the money they will throw you out on the street. Even when we were sitting with Kacey after she died, the vet came in and told us her crap about how sorry she was, and then continued to ask if we wanted memorabilia items that the Hospital had for sale, that we may want. It disgusted me as they were trying to sell items that meant nothing while i was holding my dead babygirl. She was totally fine before she was admitted to this hospital, our regular vet said that once they get her on IV fluids she should stabilize in 2-4 days and be home in no time. But that was not the case. They took her away from me, left me and my family $5000 in debt and at the end of the day i felt like they didnt care about me or Kacey, but that it was all for the money. PLEASE i beg you, one animal lover to another, if you love your pet like i love mine DO NOT send them here.
Staff worked quickly when our puppy got into some meds. Great place.
If I could give no stars I would. My dog got diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. The specialist sent an urgent referral for him to get an appointment with the oncologist. I called the next day and they told me that they received the referral and they would give me a call once he was triaged. They never called me back. I called them the next day and I reiterated the urgency of the appointment and they told me they will call me back, they never did. I followed up the next business day and they told me the only appt. available was April 7th. When I questioned why so long they said because they were not taking any urgent appts. Osteosarcoma is seen as one of the most aggressive cancers and dogs with osteosarcoma can die 2 months after the diagnosis if they don't receive treatment. They were giving me an appointment for literally a month after they received the "urgent" referral. They could've told me or the refering clinic that instead of wasting a week of my dogs life and the possibility of promp treatment. My vet was able to get me to see an oncologist in another clinic for next week.
I lost my dog recently. She deteriorated rapidly once I brought her to this clinic. I don’t believe it was their fault because it was her time to go and I am sure that they did their best to help her. But her main doctor was the least empathetic, kind or understanding doctor I have ever spoken to. When we hear on the phone that the dog we have lived with for fourteen years is dying, we are nervous and have many questions. The doctor was snappy and rude when answering my questions. I understand how hectic and busy their working lives must be but my dog was my life. Having to hear I am losing her might have been a bit easier if her doctor didn’t make me feel like I was inconveniencing her by asking what was happening to her. There are many things I wish I could change, but I wish my dog didn’t have to die alone in a room with a doctor who I’m not sure was entirely empathetic or kind. I expect more from these doctors, our dogs are like our children and I hope they treat future dog or cat parents with more patience.

I love bringing my dog Kevin here to donate blood. I had no idea that canine blood donors were needed until the neighbour told me about the program. Nicole takes excellent care of Kevin, she communicates very well about his appointments and what is needed of him. He’s very calm and enjoys coming every time. I love knowing that Kevin’s donation could possibly save another pets life. They truly treat your pets as if they were your own. Cannot say enough good things about this place!
For those complaining of wait times remember this is a triage facility. If you have a long wait that means your animal's life is not at risk/someone else's animal could be dying and needs treatment immediately. Be prepared to have your animal triaged accordingly. A long wait time Is good - that means it might not be as serious of an issue as you think. I waited almost 5 hours from intake to discharge. I came last night for my senior cat and received excellent customer service. Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. I spoke with a few different receptionists over the night who were all very patient, kind, and cared about my cat. The vet was extremely thorough and explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I was not upsold anything and was given lots of aftercare instructions. The cost was fair considering this is a specialist after hours emergency hospital. $200 for initial visit and vet check, $300 for x ray. I was even advised to wait and do blood work at my regular vet, and to purchase over the counter drugstore medication/given the correct dosage instructions. I did not feel like they were pushy or "money hungry". The support staff were so kind and apologetic to me on the phone I feel like they are yelled at by customers alot for long wait times. In all, great experience.
My pet couldnt pee because bladder stone blocked in his urinal canal and my vet told me if he doesnt get surgery today he might end up dying because of full bladder pee that might cause infection! Our vet told us they cant do surgery because lack of equipment and surgent . She called Oakville emergency hospital and she gave us estimated price 4000 $ . I was very worried about him I ended up willingly pay the price until we went to oakville vet emergency hospital and they started estimating how much cost of bladder stone surgery . Everything with monitoring and staying over a night at hospital will cost me 9.000.00 dolars . They had ANOTHER surgent who can perform his surgery for 3.000.00 dolar but it ended up he didnt wanna do it . These people at hospital they didnt give any other option but just paying 9.000.00 $ . I was very worried about my puppy life they didnt even help me out . I was very frustrated and exhausted had no idea what to do . I called my cousin (he is a vet) from back home, I told him I needed help because vets in canada not even helping me at all . He told me , they needed to do push all the stones back to his bladder open his urinal canal then put him through antibiotics then eventually he is gonna pee out all the stone naturally ! Because of my cousin today my pet is alive and healthy . Mississauga oakville veterinary emergency hospital cash grab , for you own sake stay away from this hospital . I hope nobody doesnt have to go to through what i had been there . I was about to lose him because of lack of empathy and not helping ! SAVE YOUR PET AND DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL !
Very friendly staff, the doctors give me all the details one by one about my pet situation, called me for updates twice a day, the nurses were amazing everytime I called to check on my pet, they were super nice and friendly. Big thank you for all of them ❤????
I took my cat Fleur to this hospital last Wednesday night, after she had been discharged as being on the way to recovery from another emergency hospital the night before. They took her in right away and started her treatment. They took very good care of her and even took me back to say goodbye to her before I went home. Unfortunately, they discovered that she had a fatal illness and I was advised to euthanize her. The staff were very kind and compassionate with me and to her. Thank you to the Dr's, Vet techs and nurses who looked after her at this difficult point in her life.
They really are the best here. Great care and caring.
Kind caring and compassionate They saved my ferrets life.
Pretty standard Veterinary Hospital expect to get ripped off. The few times I was there I felt more about nickel-and-diming you than actually helping your pet
Brought in a sick Bunny experiencing seizures, they misdiagnosed her and she died the same night after bringing her home. 400 dollar vet bill I still had to pay
My family has just moved into town and we're still trying to find a vet for our dogs. One of my dogs has Glaucoma and a lot of eye complications. I reached out to the Emergency Clinic 5am with my dog in a lot of pain in her eye and they told me that they didn't have an eye specialist, I understood nd explain that but my intention was to get help with her pain, since Chu won't stop cry. As I pulled in the parking lot I phone the reception, it was very clear that she though it was not an emergency (even though my dog was crying loudly on the car), she kept telling how much it would cost and gave me a super long waiting time. I decided to reach out to other clinics and someone more sympathetic to my dogs problems.
Excellent medical care for pets. Our cat received top notch, compassionate care.
Had to take my dog there from a dog fight. The receptions are great. It's quite pricy (3 times more than normal check up) but I guess for a 24/7 clinic that's what it is. The vet was alright, not too patient to listen to my whole story but she does the job.
So compassionate and really connect with the animals!! Our girl is a blood donor here and she always has such a wonderful time and they make her feel so special, comfortable and work hard to ease her anxiety.
My dog was bit by another dog he had a pretty big open cut in his shoulder. Waited 3 hours to see a vet because it’s a triage situation and he wasn’t critical. No updates... no acknowledgement that we had been waiting a long time. They had lots of staff at the front but obviously not enough doctors to see patients in a timely manner. When I politely asked about approx wait times I was just told “yeah it’s going to be while”. Left after waiting 3.5 hours. Will not go back.
Very nice staff. They truly care for the animals there.
Amazing neurology department! Everyone was open and honest and provided the best possible advice and treatment for our little dog who suffers from IVDD. Both Dr. Finnin and Dr. Douque had his best interest at heart and really helped us as pet parents with any and all questions while helping us breath in relief. We trust them completely as it's clear they really care about our animals as though one of their very own.
Very good place to go with your pets open 24 hours a day.
Came to Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Clinic to have them look at a scratch in my puppies eye. I discussed over the phone what they would be doing and they had me consent to three test that they said would workout to 150$-200$. After completing the test they then informed me that I owed 290$ and I was paying 180$ for a physical which I was not informed of nor did I consent to. Refused to drop this charge even after I spoke to her and told her I didn’t agree to this nor was I made aware of it. I feel this was incredibly unprofessional and as a first time dog owner this was not something that I would have know about before bringing her to this veterinarian clinic.
Very professional staff, great manner when dealing with people, and they took good care of my mum's cat!
These are such caring and knowledgeable people. Have unfortunately had to see several specialities. Everyone was professional and very caring.
The staff at this clinic are very kind and compassionate. Dr. Gauthier consulted with us twice on our dog's cancer and clearly laid out our options and answered all our questions. Unfortunately this past weekend our dear Roxy took a turn for the worse and we needed emergency care. On the phone John and Caitlynne were understanding and helpful. Dr. Malik helped us make the ultimate decision let Roxy go and not suffer any longer. She was so kind in our most difficult time. They have a lovely room for us to share a final calm moment with Roxy and we will always be thankful for that. I highly recommend trusting your pet's care to this team of professionals.
We are really disappointed that we came here last night and spent over 1200 according to the Dr. recommendation and at the end the next day, we were told they couldn’t perform the test and still charged. plus we were told there was ultrasound and then adding additional line called consultation charge? That’s outrageous. They just keeps adding up on the bill. I wouldn’t recommend here !
DO NOT TRUST YOUR PET TO BE TREATED PROPERLY AT THIS FACILITY. I KNOW IT IS 24 HOURS AND CONVENIENT however they will rob you blind! Do your research! They exaggerate and improperly diagnose in order to over charge you! *** DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THEIR CARE ***
Great care! Knowledgeable staff!
Good place If you need to take you dear Dogy or puppy ❤
I only have grateful words to say about this place. My cat Meera arrived in the emergency and immediately the vets took her. Unfortunately she passed away. They were very compassionate about my suffering and allowed me to have my last moments with Meera, no rush, no pressure. Lots of respect and compassion. I went to pick up her ashes and again, the receptionist was very sweet, very sympathetic. I recommend!!!
If I could post a -5, I would. I took my Golden Retriever in on Friday night because she was lethargic and not eating. She was put on a low priority list. In fact, after 5.5 hours, with no doctor seeing her, I brought her home. Less than 24 hours later, we had to euthanize our dog due to an enlarged heart caused by cancer (which probably could not have been avoided). But how can my dog's vitals not be out of whack when her heart was the size of a softball? Why didn't they pick up on this? Why wasn't she triaged correctly? I'll tell you why. Because they're understaffed and unprofessional. Even throughout that 5.5 hours, I had to call to check in. on my dog. No one called me. No one seemed to care. If you care about the life of your pet, I highly suggest you go elsewhere.
Very friendly staff, profession and quick. Pricy compared to typical vets for the same services, but for specialized and emergency stuff, this is the place to go.
Our cat pretty much died a week ago. He stopped breathing a few times and I thought that was it. Our vet didn't have the ability to help to a certain point and sent us here. Dr. Keyes was a vet sent from angels. They saved him. And cared about him. She called us everyday to update us on how he was doing, sent us photos of him feeling better gradually and shared in our joy when he was feeling better. Yes, it costs money, pets don't have OHIP. If you love your pet, it's worth the money. Thank-you everyone there.
Words cannot describe the pain this miss managed business has caused. My dog was euthanized May 16 2019 and during the process of figuring out what we wanted I had asked to buy a clay paw print so I could get a tattoo for my dog. They mentioned that if we wanted they’d just take an ink stamp for the tattoo to save us money.. once we agreed the vet tech yanked out her credit card machine from her back pocket (almost like she had no compassion and just wanted the sale) and the $2k fee was charged. Once my dog was let go another vet tech came in and said “are you done?” In the middle of all of us breaking down. Before leaving I asked 4 staff including the vet to be sure about the stamp.. I have autism and triple checking is extremely common for me. we just got my dogs ashes back yesterday AND NO PAW PRINT STAMP was included.. they said “oh we didn’t write it down so we forgot and are very sorry” Nice to know my dog was in the hands and in a freezer of a business that not even one staff had the professionalism to write something or at least make a mental note for something as silly as an ink paw print so the autistic teenager of the family can have a tattoo memory to help comfort him when in need. They’re truly just a business and from my experience don’t care about my family or my dog, they just want their paycheque. I’m extremely hurt and now for the entirety of my life I will never get the tattoo wanted of my dog. All because of someone else’s low work drive and lack of professionalism. If the owner or vet that specifically worked with my dog Scooby Doo Cox reads this, I would appreciate you stepping forward fixing your mistake on my family. I will never be able to get that paw print but there is so much more you can do besides apologize.
Absolutely disgusted with how my family was treated after choosing to have our cat put down over a $5000+ surgery that they even admitted was not likely to do much for him!
This place is horrible. Took my pet one evening, the first question asked was: "has she ever been diagnosed with heart failure?". They took XRays and blood work and offered to monitor her overnight after a narcotic injection for CAD 1000. I took her home and left CAD 800 for the emergency admission (which didn't solve anything). Next day obviously she did not get better and we took her back. They tried to charge me CAD 50 to repeat the XRay saying the previous wasn't good, even after saying they wouldn't charge anything, as they obviously failed to take the first! They also tried again to keep my pet for 12 hours after a diuretic injection and charge more CAD 700. They wouldn't explain they're diagnostic process, their suspicions, nothing. I had sent the XRays and blood work to my sister, who is a Vet, and she shared in her network of colleagues. It was unanimous Congestive Heart Failure with enlarged heart and fluid building around the lungs. Her respiratory pattern was indicative of that as well. But the night vet did not hear the heart murmur, which was later confirmed by another vet somewhere else. Given that, I asked for a prescription for furosemide to try observing her at home as I did not have the money they were asking for. They refused to give me the prescription and tried to get me signing a responsibility term saying I had refused treatment. They wouldn't give her a treatment until I left all my money to do all the tests they asked for.
My kittens had amazing treatment. As a new kitten mum I was treated kindly and with respect. Awesome clinic, highly recommend them. Things are tough with COVID protocols so an extended wait but well worth the time.
Doctors here are friendly and the service is great.
They specialize in big problems for critters of all sizes. My little girl ended up in there after drinking coffee with stevia in it... They took awesome care of her and encouraged me to visit at 11pm.
The staff of the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital saw my dog through a very difficult time. Throughout the whole experience everyone I encountered was kind and attentive. At no point did they try to convince me that treatment for a 17 year old dog was pointless, and for that I am eternally grateful. I feel that they, and I, did everything in our power to make her as comfortable as possible. And at no point did they try to suggest any treatment that my personal vet wouldn't have done at my request. And when the end did come, they were supportive and full of specific advice, and made the very fast and confusing time as gentle as they could. They walked me through all the follow up steps as well. This has to be one of the most rewarding and most difficult jobs I have ever watched people perform. And I am so appreciative of the service that this hospital and its staff provided to both Fergie and myself.
Horrible service. I called 10 minuts before getting there asking what the wait time was and was told 15 minutes. After we checked in and sat in the waiting room we were told it was a 3-4 hours to see a doctor, even tho no one walked in after us. We were also told that our dog wasn't a medical emergency without even looking at him! We asked if we could go home and come back in 2-2.5 hours and they said no. So we left, never again will I go there because they clearly don't care about all animals.
Took our dog who was suffering. They told us the wait time would be 6 to 8 hours - sitting in our car in the parking lot. We left and had to find another vet service.
Honest review from our experience last year... we spent thousands of dollars (yes multiple) on test after test and received no concrete answers. We truly felt like our young chihuahua with sudden painful lesions all over body became the mystery case nobody wanted or knew how to solve. Luckily a local vet prescribed some solutions that slowly healed her (fingers crossed). The emergency hospital was great to accommodate us during late hours, and the staff were nice to speak with, but we truly felt like we threw money away and still worry about our girl even after all the blood work, culture samples, X-rays, etc... not recommended.
My dog consumed a large amount of a carpet and required emergency surgery. He was referred by his regular vet to have the surgery here due to his heart problems. Fortunately he made it through and is recovering well. Everyone who helped with Sam was wonderful. They were empathetic, thorough, patient and clear with me every step of the way. They saved his life and I am forever grateful. Thank you.
Dr. Jackie Haas has been immensely supportive and helpful. She handled my cat with profound care and professionalism.
They took really good care of Lola.
Excellent care! Highly recommend taking your pet there in a time of need. They saved my dogs life.
I hope no one has to ever be in an emergency situation with their pet but if you are this is definitely the place to go. The Dr's here saved my dogs life and im so grateful for their work.
My cat was run over by a car last night. Luckily a young woman found him and brought him in. They contacted us (he was chipped) and we got there immediately. The doctor was kind and gave us all the information. His injuries were too severe and Dr.Goulay said he probably wouldn't survive. We put him down but the staff was kind and empathetic as we said goodbye to our beloved Zeytoun. We are crushed but grateful he did not suffer in his last moments. This could have been much worse. ????
They are great. The helped my kitties.
They have always taken great care of pets. I have been here several times and every time we feel well cared for
Friendly administrators, techs and doctors. Everyone there loves animals. It's a nice experience if you have to be there.
Told by vet and receptionist to come back on Saturday morning to see a neurologist for my dog. Woke up very early, came all the way from Toronto, and the receptionist told me they don’t have a neurologist today, if I want to see one I need to pay $450 in total just to see the neurologist as an emergency. I have spent 600 already there and got no result. This is the worst, and the most expensive emergency animal hostipal I’ve ever visited. Never come back again, thank you.
This clinic is a mixed bag for me. I brought my cat, Kobe in who was suffering from shortness of breath. He was taken in right away and given oxygen to bring up his O2 saturation. He was given an NSAID to help him with his breathing. Prior to discharge he also had his blood drawn to have it screened. The educated guess the veterinarian here gave was that he suspected our cat might have pancreatitis. However, that would need to be confirmed with an ultrasound. We learned the following day from his bloodwork that he tested FIV+ which he contracted prior to being welcomed into our home. I can see why another person felt the clinic had an uppity atmosphere but that doesn't have a positive nor negative impact on me as I'm not concerned with something so minor. Perhaps, the other poster confused professionalim with an uppity vibe. I found the staff friendly and personable including the veterinarian himself. This clinic is pricey ($175.00 examination fee alone) but it is what it is. The only thing that concerned me is the fact the veterinarian missed the large abcess on the right side of my cat's neck due to a sewing needle that pierced right through Kobe's esophagus when swallowed. In all fairness, I didn't discover the abcess myself until I gave Kobe a bath (he doesn't mind showers/baths/hairdryers) which is when I discovered the huge lump. I stopped the medications I was given to relieve his pancreatitis. Instead of returning to this clinic, I took him to Bristol Veterinary Hospital which is around the corner from my home which happens to be open 24/7 to have his abcess surgically drained. I wish I knew of this 24/7 clinic prior to taking my cat to Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital only to logistics and cost. Dr. Dhabia at Bristol Veterinary Hospital I gave 5 stars to for a variety of reasons and you can read my review in more detail when googled. Dr. Dhabia discovered that our cat was actually suffering from multiple abcesses due to the severe progression of infection. He also discovered the sewing needle with attached thread when he operated on Kobe and removed it. Anyways, thank goodness I didn't get a $400.00+ ultrasound done on my cat! The only good news is that my obese cat lost four pounds from having no appetite lol! Who knew I'd end up diagnosing my own cat with an abcess. Perhaps, he has pancreatitis as well, who knows. If he does, at least the meds I paid for treated it. Overall I'm satisfied because at the end of the day my sweet adorable boy is alive but that's thanks to the combination of both clinics for different reasons. I just wished this place caught the abcess but who knows if the abcess was significantly smaller at the time this clinic assessed him. I'm planning on letting their veterinarian know what he missed as to reduce the chance of history repeating itself.
They saved my dogs life when another emergency clinic misdiagnosed him on 3 separate occssions. They Diagnosed quickly and efficiently. Very professional, kind & competent. I would never go to another place for an emergency other than here. I am so pleased and happy i have my boy back with me. I cannot thank them enough.
We were referred here by our vet because their the only cardiologist in town to do an ultrasound. We were told they will call us and schedule is in for an examination in January. It's now March and still nothing. We call periodically every week to both the hospital and our vet and we get the same non-answer answer everytime. The other alternative is to take her through the emergency route which we were quoted to be $3500 for just one single ultra sound (no treatment or meds) which would normally be a few hundred. Does anyone else know anywhere around the GTA where I can get an ultrasound and cardiologist to see my dog?
Really expensive, but available 24/7 with vets on staff at all times. If you have a pet emergency after hours, the cost is well worth it.
We had an emergency with our fur baby from falling we rushed our dog to this establishment and as we were walking into the door someone ran over to grab dog from us and they immediately gave our dog attention and took necessary steps to treating it. Pricing is fair and they do no throw anything at you if its not really needed. Thank you would highly recommend!!
Although I have seen several satisfied folks walking out of there, my experience was completely different. After spending a couple of hours waiting, and finally asking how long will it be, we were told "within an hour, unless something happens and they'll have to attend to an emergency." Since it was already late in the evening, we decided to take our dog back home, where he is going to be much more at peace and take him to the regular vet in the morning. As we are walking out, the young girl is running to tell us that a doctor is going to be available in 5 minutes!!! Thus, the poor animals which truly required emergency assistance all of the sudden became less important???!!!! And truthfully, I felt the same notion listening to every conversation they were having with people calling in. Essentially the message conveyed was to the extent of "oh, it's probably nothing, but I'd still like you to come in to have it taken a look at by a vet." Our labrador was attacked earlier in the day, and was limping, which is very obvious. He was/is in a fair amount of discomfort, but there is no infection setting in or anything else that would progress into a worse condition. We simply went there to have someone look at it and maybe help determine if nothing is torn inside that may require medical attention. To add to the insult, they make you "check for life signs." A young girl came out, I told her that aside from the hurt leg, the dog is fine. She didn't even bother listening to what I have said, and with a notion that our dog has eaten a large amount of chocolate (mistaken identity - it was the dog next to us), she literally drags him to the back with that hurting paw!!! At this point I almost lost my cool, and that's when I got completely convinced that this is not the right place to be in. Unless you have a true emergency, and really no where else to resort to, I'd truly not recommend you taking your pet in there. This is nothing but a careless money maker. I did not feel a slightest degree of compassion, care or attention to the pet's needs.
My wife took our cat in for an emergency and was charged over twenty two hundred dollars only to be told our cat had to be put down...What a shame to rip off people at their most vulnerable moments!
If I could rate this clinic higher than a five star I would. I took my cat, my best friend, into this clinic on a Sunday morning because she was having difficulty breathing. The receptionist was very responsive, and put her on oxygen immediately. After filling out some forms, the receptionist asked if I would consent to two x-rays, which of course, I said yes. The staff at this clinic are amazing. They never did anything without asking me first, and never suggested anything that was unnecessary for my cat. Unfortunately, we discovered that day that my beloved girl had cancer in her lungs. The amazing vet that I was seeing walked me through my options, never pushed one way or the other, but told me what the reality of her quality of life would be. The vet saw my cat through every step of her time there with kindness, respect, dignity, and compassion. I would highly, highly recommend this emergency clinic if anyone is in need of one.
Nice, courteous and quick to action... they saved our kitty!
Brought a dog in for an eye exam, doctor was an hour late, not even a hint of an apology. After he saw us, waited 30 minutes for the invoice and medication. Cost was 400-500$ for what took him about 10 minutes plus another 10 for an expensive test. Felt like I had been mugged. Reminded me of a puppy mill for vets.
Great to have an emergency clinic to go to when you're in need of help.
"Emergency" is very misleading, actually your pet has to stay over there for over 10 hours before the assessment by a doctor. No one cared about how sick he/she was, he/she had to stay in the cage for over 10 hours by itself. I am wondering why we can not let the pet stay with us before the assessment. Once my poor dog got home for over 15 hours she was so thirsty to drink tons of water. Very very bad experience for my poor dog.
I had a great experience bringing my dog here. From start to finish, they were kind and understanding. When they were able to help my dog, they spoke about all the options and explained each of them thoroughly. The Dr's that I spoke to were really understanding and helpful. I could tell that they cared about their patients and their work.
Went in with my Xylitol-poisoned dog near death. They saved Bailey's life and treated her like a little queen during the observation days. The doctors kept us updated on her progress. Excellent service, excellent care, for Bailey and for her distraught parents!
Dog needed surgery for a compound leg fracture and the staff were assuring and knowledgeable. The first surgery the surgeon did was good initially but my dogs leg did not heal as expected. She then recommended we do a second surgery which was less expensive than the first but I was still frustrated that it was even required at all. Luckily the second surgery was performed by Doctor Bichot who did an amazing job. Overall I am very glad I took my to this hospital.
The team here is incredible. Twice we've had to take our dog there in the middle of the night with seizures. It's amazing how dedicated they are, 24/7.
I brought my 15 year old pup (golden, chow, sheppard mix) there due to potential nasal cancer. It turned out to be quite severe but they did everything they could to get all tests done that day. Everyone worked together to get the best for my boy. He started chemo a week after our visit (after CT scan and biopsy confirmed the diagnosis). During chemo treatments the staff continue to show great concern and prove to be very knowledgeable.
They were incredibly caring and helpful in a really difficult time
Sadly put our family dog down, but could not have asked for better support from everyone there. They were patient and accommodating to our situation. They helped us send off our doggy the Best possible way. Still heartbroken. But thankful to the whole team.
We were very happy with the treatment given to our kitty when she was sick. They were great communicating with us, and explaining the extent of her illness and treatment and options. We felt that she was in good hands, and having that safety relieved a lot of our worries and concerns. Our cat is healthy and happy again and we cannot thank you enough :)
My dog Pepper received emergency and follow-up care here for a stroke she suffered (she's fine now). Everyone was excellent (and we interacted with many people).
My boyfriend and I brought our 10 year old Boston terrier here after she suffered what looked like a stroke. The team was absolutely wonderful; very knowledgeable, caring towards our pet, and very understanding of our personal choice to pursue certain diagnostic tests/treatments. I didn't feel like they were just trying to charge me for whatever they could and they were very frank when we explained that financially we were strained and could only perform the most necessary tests. There was no judgement at all. Unfortunately our little pup deteriorated and when we had to make the difficult decision to put her down at 2am--the staff was just as present, informative and compassionate as if it were 10am. Once again, they were very forthcoming with information and even allowed us to be in the room with her--even during covid. They made that night a little easier and for that we're eternally grateful. Keep up the good work, you make a difference!
We lost our dog, but they treated us with compassion and care through the entire process. Thank you!
My dog was treated like royalty, lots of attention and wonderful suegeons. Highly recommended.
After having been a satisfied client once a few years ago, I tried to call twice to book an appointment for my other dog and the lack of willingness to help and even empathy was quite alarming... Not only was the reception rude, she went out of her way to tell someone at Doctor Sandra Minor's office (the cardiologist I was trying to book via a referal) that I had been rude (if you define rude as being someone who asks questions... wow) and to call me back to give me an earful... Absolutely floored by their fear tactics and poor handling of a simple call to book an appointment. I will not be setting foot in this establishment again as I truly felt that I would be poorly handled the day the inevitable bad news will come (as it always does with pets...). Heartless wastes of space - no other words for these people. Of course, I informed my vet of their practices to make sure none of his other patients suffers such treatment again.
To be fair, I came here just one time (and never again) earlier in the year but it still bothers me. One vet and one of the receptionists, both female, had some major attitude problems. First of all, the vet (don’t remember her name and the other girl) was making it out like I’M the reason why my cat was vomiting, for letting her play with a hair tie that was supervised and she never ate it and I put that hair tie away right after she was done on one occasion that had happened wayyyy before she got sick? It was not related at all to her being sick. Cats will play with anything on the floor but I know for a fact she did not swallow any hair ties. This vet was very condescending and definitely made my experience here awful. As for the other girl, I been sitting in the parking lot for 5 hours waiting, so I got food nearby. She had called me but I missed it. I called her back immediately once I see the notification, I am put on hold each time (I call back 3 times) finally reach her, and she answers the phone “hi i called you three times” with a such a snooty tone. It is not my fault you put me on hold each time I called back, I tried. God forbid that I take 2 minutes off my phone to eat after waiting so long and not eating the whole day because I am worried about my cat’s health. This place will talk down on you and accuse of being the issue for your animal’s problem. I have some friends who came here before and said the staff are rude. Avoid this place
Friendly professional not too quick to over look things.
Ive been waiting 4 hours for a call back... I understand there are emergencies there that are important but is my emergency that you sent home with me yesterday not important? You would think after spending $600 you would get some kind of customer service. Will not be returning.
Excellent responsive service for your pet's needs. All the ER doctors there are very professional, courteous, and wonderful to chat with. It can be busy on weekdays, and weekends seems less busy. Obviously don't wait for the "right moment" to go. But just expect longer waits weekdays.
I didn't deal with the emergency section, so i can't comment on that part of the hospital. I had an appt to bring my dog in for a ct scan this week....was kinda worried with all the neg reviews. But overall everything went really well. Staff were very nice. Even with all the new covid protocols the drop off and pick up went fairly smoothly. A couple of hiccups but nothing major. Before his apt, my dog broke his dew claw and they fixed that for me while he was there saving me a ton of money and a separate vet visit! The extra they charged was very reasonable, and made sure he came home with what we needed to care for his bandages. No unnecessary drugs were pushed on me, and i was able to ask questions and have pleasant conversations with the staff regarding my dogs care. I witnessed someone being rude to them and even then... they kept their cool better than i would of! Tks for a pleasant visit during stressful times:) we appreciated it!
Had an emergency with our dog, the people at the hospital from the front desk to the doctors were compassionate, efficient, and helpful. Now hoping for a full recovery. Highly recommended.
Kristin and the team are amazing! Thanks so much for your help tonight! ????
It was good we was happy for the care they give our dog.
Very caring and supportive medical staff. It's obvious that they care about the animals that are brought through their doors at the worst of times.
Great vets and staff!
Made the best out of a bad experience.
All of the staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. Our dog tore his CCL and required TPLO surgery, and they were helping us through the entire process - consultation, pre-surgery management, and post-surgery rehabilitation.
Our Frenchie got great care and attention.
My puppy ate 1/2 of a tennis ball on 23rd December. Due to it being the holiday season all of the emergency clinics in our area were at capacity (we live all the way in Hamilton) so we rushed to this clinic, the first that agreed to take us. They were incredibly kind and friendly. They reassured us that they would take good care of our baby and even offered free hot drinks and a customer washroom. Foreign body ingestion is a time sensitive issue and despite how busy they were out pup was treated in a timely manner and with gentle care. She was at no point frightened or stressed. They also sent a full report to our regular vet who reached out to us when they were next open. If you have an emergency I highly recommend this clinic.
They saw my dog very promptly, even late at night, and were professional, understanding, and knowledgable.
The level of care my English Bulldog received here is simply outstanding. My English Bulldog stayed several days in ICU and now she is home. Thank all staff for caring. However, as will all pet hospital/emergency place stay here is very costly. Having said that, if cost is no object then attention and care pets are given here is unparalleled to anything I have seen in pet hospital or clinics.
Wanted too euthanize our dog without even investigating the illness. Horrible and not very compassionate
Absolutely a top notch facility. Never have second thoughts about taking your pet here if you need specialist or emergency services.
Saved my Moxie from pneumonia. Thank you to all the staff & Dr Han:)
a horrible horrible horrible experience - my pet got sick and i went to this hospital as a lost resort, i explained my dire situation and the insensitve doctor said you dont pay we euthanize him - and we will do that for free - i was so shocked, they would help my pet, but will kill him for free - where is the compassion - such a horrible experience, - basically if you are rich we will help you = but if you have fallen on hard times through no fault of your own and your pet gets sick no one will help you - dont take them to this hospital, they will kill your pet - or euthanize as they say - i cried for days and days over this injustice - i wish there was a star less than one
Very friendly staff send a decent vet to work with
Incredible. Very kind and respectful staff all around. Always felt as though we were taken seriously and had plenty of time with doctors on short notice. We were able to visit our pet on every day during the 4 days our cat was there. Extremely clean, extremely fast and extremely kind. Thank you for all the hard work every one did for us!
Expensive, but you can't put your pets in better hands.
Lost two dogs here 6 months apart ... so so very expensive... after so much medication bought and used and overnights ... they still couldn't save my dog unless I played for another overall underline checkups cut they didnt know what was wrong with my dog.. spent 4 grand on first dog .. spent 5 grand on second dog... lost then 5 months apart ... they only can help u if ur a millionaire Maybe they tried I dunno beyond heart broken Never again
When my cat was sick they took such great care of her. I could tell the staff truly care about animals and it's not just a business transaction for them. When it came to treatment I was given all the options, costs, and pro and cons of each. My kitty is all better now and I'm so grateful for them.
Wish I read these reviews before hand. I love my dog. Piccolo is my best friend, we eat, sleep and play daily and he is the best dog ever. However he started having seizures. I am no vet, but when your dog is convulsing on the ground there is an issue. Rushed him to this hell hole for pets, explained the dire situation, and the vet asked me if he is having seizures why haven't you taken videos. Excuse me but my dog may be dying and my first thought should have been taking a vid. Are you kidding me. After leaving the vet calls and states he has blood in his urine and an enlarged liver . So obviously when I pick up my nugget I ask the vet about the bloody urine and enlarged liver and she had no clue what I was talking about. There is either poor communication or none at all. One thing is for sure I will NEVER bring my dog here again. BTW end result he was diagnosed with having seizures. Again not a vet, But I diagnosed him myself with having seizures. There is a reason these people work with animals and not people. They would be fired right away.
Great staff. Very friendly and compassionate.
Great staff. My dog was referred there for physio treatments and Christine did a great job with her.
I can't express enough how grateful we are to the whole Hospital, but especially Dr. Boston and the Surgical Oncology Team at MOVEH. They took our girl in quickly and scheduled diagnostics and surgery through a pandemic and the holidays. They updated me regularly and our final costs were lower than estimated. I was referred specifically to Dr. Boston by another specialty veterinarian for our girl's care and I can certainly see why. She called me over Christmas to give me results from her holidays. This hospital is over an hour away from me but I wouldn't hesitate in similar circumstances to bring any of my animals back here. Our Great Dane is very big and can be leash reactive and they took this into consideration. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I don't hate it, but I don't recommend it either.... Only because I went to a better hospital and my dog is now better than she was when she was over at MOVEH. The front receptionist that I happened to come across was extremely rude and condescending. The doctors on the other hand were extremely kind. The vet techs only suggested one option. A few options would have been nice. No one went over the estimate which seemed to be the only thing the entire staff cared about. If you want to save a few thousand dollars, I suggest you to go somewhere else. Just know there are other options out there who really care about your pets. Like the 24 hour Clarkson Village Clinic not too far from this one.
absolutely wonderful people. THAT is always the most important thing. We brought our beautiful cat in under extreme emergency. It was pandemonium. They did their best with CPR etc etc (Covid times of course). Doctor was so patient and understanding. Hartlek didn't make it that afternoon. They sent a lovely condolence card signed and even commented by a dozen staff a few weeks later. We cannot thank them enough for caring. Brant and Stephanie
Wait for 5 (!) hours to be sent home with antibiotics for deep cut and open wound. No stitches done, had to go to another hospital next day to do proper treatment. I had impression that doctor didn’t even look at our dog, who knows why they now do there behind closed doors during COVID. Waste of time and money. Don’t go here.
Have used this Emergency clinic a few times over the years. Very professional. My dog Bookaboo is a happy patient!
They made the horrible experience of saying goodbye to my beloved boy so much easier. They were kind, compassionate and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They worked hard to get to a diagnosis, and Dr. Madge delivered the sad news with the utmost kindness. Thank you for trying so hard with my dog and for helping me to make the right decision for him.
I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. Very caring front desk staff. The cardiology team is just amazing. You leave with an excellent knowledge of your pet's condition. I've been there through the emergency section and regular cardiology appointments. Always a positive experience.
Thanks for taking in a feral cat I rescued who scratched my hand bloody at 5am when no one else would
They really care about your animal ♡
My cat was sick he spent 6 days there.
Great attention got 2 vets to look at my cat. They saved his life
Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were correctly estimated and fully explained before we made our decision. They saved our cat's life.
Money is what matters here, don't let them try to convince you otherwise. And most of all, don't let them convince you of any ultimatums. They'll pressure you into decisions like there's no other option. Only take a pet to a VCA if no other vet is an option.
Can't say enough about this place. I work in a small animal hospital and one of our patients was referred this week. Less than a week after the initial injury the dog has had a surgical repair and is at home recovering. We have the best results for our patients!
They just helped us say goodbye to a beloved pet. We had to travel there at night from Burlington as our cat was having seizures and was in her "final time". They were so helpful and accommodating, letting us say our goodbyes in a quiet space. Thank you so much!
the poorest place for your pets. never go there again. It is infamous in mississauga now. They want your pets' lives and your money. But they are so rich in inviting the best lawyers in Toronto. You can image what business they are.
Great friendly staff! Makes a bad experience into a good one
They need to take ownership for their mistakes, don’t blame other clinics for your mistake. Your negligence has put my cats health at risk.
I can't speak about the emergency department but we had nothing but good experiences with their internal medicine and oncology departments. Dr. Thornton was wonderful in explaining what she saw during our cats ultrasound and endoscopy and what it mean't for him/us. The clinic was quick to get oncology on his file and he was back within a week and a half for his first treatment. Everyone in the Oncology department was also great - Dr. Gauthier and Meghan especially who answered many of our questions and concerns. Along with all the other workers who treated our Kaiju so sweetly. We never had long waits and often treatment was finished earlier than they anticipated. They also went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule if they needed to push treatment back which was appreciated.
You can't go wrong with any vet
The staff here were quite friendly and competent in their diagnosis, but they seemed inefficient in their operations.
I always appreciate the professionalism of the staff and knowledge of specialist vets.
Doctor was the most caring and took the time to throughly explain all the options for my pets treatment. Drew a diagram out of my cat and physically explained the issues at hand and what certain treatments would target and cause. Genuinely cares about the wellbeing of animals and I couldn't have found an emergency clinic I have more faith in. This is after going to three different clinics, one located in Newmarket and one in Burlington.
I had to bring in a cat for euthanasia and I was blessed enough to be taken care of by Dr. Benson and Brandan. They both made a terrible situation as comfortable as they could and they were empathetic and kind.
After spending 1000s of dollars and seeing 6 different vets, who could not even fully diagnose my dog, I was sent to see Dr. Bos. She identified my dogs issues almost immediately and set up a surgical quote. Casper had to go for 3 surgeries with Dr. Bos but only because he ended up with 3 different hernias in 6 months. The lockdown really seemed to mess up his system from not being able to run and picking up on all the stress in the household. He runs for an hour every morning and every night and to abruptly stop this was very hard on him and he was stressed with the mood of our household due to covid. She went above and beyond and I rarely say this, but I felt she genuinely cared for my dogs well being and recovery. She is an amazing doctor, and given my medical issues since childhood I am not a fan of 99% of doctors! Her and two other doctors I have met in my life are the exception. All technicians and staff are great. SOME, not all, receptionists seem to need a little more coffee in the mornings but they are not the ones giving care to my dog and it is a stressful time for everyone right now. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who works here for saving my baby and dementia/elderly therapy dog. (8 year old great pyrenees husky mix named Casper)
Terrible place! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Unfortunately they prioritize making as much money as they can while providing inadequate service. Everything is a transaction, and while I have no problem paying to care for my family dog, there is no compassion or sense of what is appropriate to say while your pet is in dire need of care.... Every interaction I’ve had with the staff felt like a sales pitch. I’m in shock and I hope someone reads this before deciding to come here.
Great care when my pet really needed it. They were extremely busy but still took care of us.
Very sympathetic vet. Gave us all the facts and allowed us to make our own decisions.
This place is absolutely disgusting. Paid 600 dollars at another vet for my dog who has a broken leg who checked him out, did xrays, bandaged him up and then sent me to this hospital yesterday (Monday) for the surgery. So most of the work has already been done, why does it cost me 214 just to be told how much it is going to cost. My dog has already seen a doctor why does it need to see another one, why couldn’t you just say oh we already have the information let’s me an appointment to get him fixed up and give me the price of the surgery?
We went to this hospital last Saturday, January 9. Our puppy was experiencing pain in his left paw. We called the hospital, and the receptionist informed us that we would have to wait for our turn. She clearly stated that we would not have to wait for more than two hours. This conversation happened around 7:20 pm. We waited patiently for the receptionist to call us back for two hours. At approximately 9:20 pm, we called the hospital. The receptionist told us to hang on the line as she had to check with her staff on when we could have our turn. Once she came back on the line, she told us we would have to wait at least another six hours. I found their service to be very unprofessional for several reasons. Firstly, they never took the initiative to call us back after two hours passed. We had to take that step. Moreover, they told us that we had to wait another six hours after we already waited for two hours. I understand that they are very busy. But, a heads-up would have been greatly appreciated. Had they done so, then we would have gone to another emergency hospital and treated our pet sooner. This experience reflects their mismanagement and lack of concern for our puppy's wellbeing. We are never going there again. I definitely would not recommend this place.
Was referred here when my beloved Daisy was ill. Her general vet had initially misdiagnosed her and it was internal medicine that had finally given us the proper prognosis of her condition. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. I especially liked that they were able to explain her condition and took diligent attention to her size when prescribing her the proper medication. Unfortunately, our Daisy is no longer with us but we are grateful for everything they had done for her this last year. I would highly recommend this clinic.
MY dog had emergency surgery, all seem to go well $7,000 he was doing well and even suggested we could take him home a day early. I wanted to keep him there another night just to be safe.. well I get a call that he was having a little heart rythm but should be fine...well I found out they took my London out and he colappsed less than 1 hour later they said if you want to see him you need to get here fast..he was up walking eating tail wagging and kisses...now I am planning his funeral.....I intend on a full inquiry and I am contacting OVA.........I lost my baby boy a nd they got $7000. when I asked for the CEO email address.......sorry can't give it out....IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET..............DO NOT GO NEAR THEM
You get what you pay for: yes the Vet Hospital is expensive, but a number of the Vet/Surgeons also happen to be Assistant/Adjunct Professors at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. One of those Professors did my dog's eye surgery. Did you not read the Vet's CVs on the wall?
WORST place ever and i mean the WORST! Close to two years ago my pug had a horrible accident. She fell off the bed and became paralyzed . I brought my pug to the hospital where they said that she has get an MRI . When the results came ,they informed me that she got one of her discs in spine moved. Vet said ,if she won't get the surgery than she will not survive from the pain. They quoted me $14,000 for the surgery. Vet said if i decide to operate on her now they will give me the discount because of the MRI which was $3,600!!! After half a day of crying in despair I've asked the doctor for the last time - are you sure that there is no way she can survive if I give her medication? Than guess what.. she says I'm not a 100% sure!!! are you kidding me??? So I've decided than I'll take her back home with me. Five months later , my pug is back to norm! She walks, runs and is a happy doggy. I will never step my foot in there! I've found other doctor that helped my pug with the proper medication and I also watched a few videos on youtube and educated myself on how to get her better. I'm happy I didn't fall for the "surgery" that wasn't even going to be a 100% promised recovery.
very detailed, informative and compassionate staff. Didn't sugar coat and gave their honest loving opinions! Great job!
Very slow. Bad customer service. 8 hours of waiting without seeing a Dr, after my pet was lost for 3 days.
Do not go to this place if you can avoid it. They quoted me $2000-$2500 just to do an overnight with bloodwork and x-rays for my cat (this was just to do a diagnosis, not including the cost of any surgeries). This place is just a cash cow for desperate pet owners.
Friendly and helpful staff, these folks see a lot of sad things, and yet they are so nice and positive. Our puppy got bit by another dog and was bleeding and screaming. They were calm and helpful and we were all done in about an hour, puppy was stitched up and ready to start healing!
Excellent care but long wait times due to number of incoming patients.
Was good. Very nice to be on time with your visits.
It's difficult to rate this place. It is one of only 2 places to get emergency services for complicated issues for your pet in southern Ontario. The doctors were kind and caring . Lots of waiting to see your pet if they r inpatients. You will pay dearly for your pet to be seen here. They may also save yours pet's life.
Waited 4 hours outside for them to tell me I should use ice packs for my cat’s injury and get her back dirty/scared. No one knows anything, they can’t give you time estimates, will try to give pain medication to your cat because she complains and meows a lot. Honestly, its not worth it, pretty bad service.
They did so many tests. We paid more than $6,000 for 3 days and dog is still very sick. They said doctor can't do surgery. We took our dog home. Going to our vet tomorrow, who doesn't do unnecessary tests and doesn't suck money from "parents" of sick dogs. By the way, doctor didn't came talk to us, sent technologist instead. Very upset
My 2 month old puppy at the time started having seizures and the veterinarians at Mississauga Oakville were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone on the staff was friendly and at such a scary time for my family and I, they helped us with Waffles diagnosis and started her on medication. Today she is healthy and happy...no more seizures and has been weaned off of medication. I am very grateful!
Our dog was unable to walk and a vet diagnosed an injured leg. After much treatment and three weeks we finally got a second opinion and the Vet told us to go to this emergency hospital. We were greeted at the door by a concerned technician who said "is this Roo?". We said it was, and he was immediately put on a cart and taken to the examination room. 30 minutes later a neurologist spoke with us and said she felt it was Myasthenia Gravis. 24 hours later we picked up a completely mobile and happy dog. The most professional and compassionate people you could possibly imagine, Dr. Duquay was fantastic!
Very expensive, and I found the staff to be cold and unsympathetic. If I had to do it again, I would go to another 24 hour clinic instead.
Professional, clean, and state-of-the-art equipment. Saved two of my little guys. Couldn't be happier.
I was recommended here by my vet a couple months back with my pup who was very sick. It was about 1.5 hour drive for me. We were taken in and saw one vet and tests were completed within about an hour. I then waited 5-6 hours with my sick dog to see a different vet (probably because the first went home) to review results. We waited as many others came and went. And all this time I wasn't allowed to give her food or water. Finally when everyone else was gone we were taken into a room. Although they couldn't find the cause of sickness, the vets seemed competent and pleasant. The admin staff and assistants were great. However I think the level of service should be far better. We were there about 7 hours in total for nothing, then drove 2 hours home. This was a long day that my girl shouldn't have had to endure. Unfortunately she had to be put down a couple days later. We've come to accept waiting hours for our free healthcare, which isn't really acceptable. When you're paying big money out of pocket at an emergency vet clinic, It's not acceptable. Maybe it was an off day, I don't know..
Helped out with a question I had regarding my sick puppy. The puppy had a small cough and she had recently jumped from high up and was crying because of the fall. There was no hesitation to help and they put my mind at ease by ensuring I was ok with the explanation.
Thank you to the wonderful doctors and staff, who were able to save our little riku (shiba inu’s) leg. After hours of surgery they were able to reattach his tibia to his ankle with metal plates and screws. He is recovering nicely and we will forever be grateful to their work.
Seek elsewhere if you can. I was referred to this place from my regular vet to the internal medicine department. My cat received an ultrasound on March 1st. The doctor called me to discuss the results. I missed the call. I called back immediately and I was told she left the office and won’t be back for one week. I called back the next week she is not in the office yet again and will still not be back for another week. I was told to communicate through email still have heard nothing. What kind of doctor is never in the office working? I have paid 1600 for a service and have not even been given the curtesy to have the results explained to me over the phone. It’s been almost a month and I still haven’t discussed my ultrasound results about my cat. Stay away!
Very expensive , and if your pet is not covered by insurance , rest assured that you will spending > $2,000 there
My experience at this clinic was terrible. They do not care about dogs. The receptionist, Kira, was awful. She refused to answer my questions or to find someone who could. What she wanted my credit card information, so she could charge me for a visit when I had no idea if it would be helpful. I have no issue paying for good service, but why can't I find out if the vet deals with my issue before I pay for the appointment. Repeated attempts to discuss this with the vet or the office manager have gone unanswered. Honestly believe my dog's life has been cut short because we went to this clinic. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Our baby girl goes in August 6th 2019 for major surgery very large mass in her tummy... We are praying to God and all her Angel's all goes well... ❤????
If you truely care about your pet's health, please Do Not take your pet to this hospital. I work in a hospital, and last year I received a message from my mother saying that our cat was sick and she had to take it to the Oakville Veterinary Emergency hospital. Within the span of an hour, they had put our cat down. The Veterinarian had informed my mother that our cat required emergency blood work and diagnostic procedures. The cost of the combined procedures was in the thousands. When my mother was unable to reach me right away, the professional extortionists had refused medical care unless full payment was made. They would Not allow my mother to take our cat to a different veterinarian and get a second opinion. The other option they had given her was to put our cat down. Since that option was cheaper, and my mother did not have a whole lot of cash on her, she had opted for the alternative. There are many professionals that enter this business for the love of the animals, and yes they have to be compensated for their hard work and effort. However, this hospital only cares about the bottom line. Please take your pets to a professional veterinary clinic and stay away from this hospital.
Had to put our cat down today at 2pm. Dr Nicole Winston in emergency was great. Sympathetic and took her time to explain our options. The receptionist though was not. No sympathy and after I confirmed euthanasia with her as a second witness, ended our call with "have a good day" and hung up. I wish we didn't have that in addition to our heartbreak over losing Stinky.
Terrible Service The terrible service I received at this clinic is likely going to cost my dying dog part of his remaining days. Please go somewhere else. I would hate for anyone to end up in the same situation as me...the receptionist was rude and unhelpful, she wanted me to pay before she would answer any questions about what could be done for my dog.
Be careful before going to this clinic. I have read many of the reviews and there are definitely more good ones than bad however there is a pattern. For the good reviews, it seems that they are particularly good at physical triage issues. Dog/wolf attacks, broken bones, etc. however there is this alarming trend of service in the things they don't do so well in. Normally that shouldn't be a surprise but they are supposed to be professionals and be able to pass on the same level of service whether they were successful in their attempts at making things better or not. In our case, we went to the hospital at 1:30am and they saw our dog pretty quickly but then things started to seem off. The doctor suggested an x-ray when our dog was showing shivering, drooling and shallow quick panting symptoms. We told them that she was eating and drinking normally but they still wanted to do xrays to see if there was an obstruction. If there was one, then she would have had issues in eating and pooping but there were none. Anyways, as expected the results came back negative and we were sent home with some pain meds and one for inflammation of soft tissue linings. Overnight she seemed to get better but then got worse. It was obvious there wasn't anything physical and we think it was poison so we went back asking for a blood test. We shouldn't be the ones diagnosing or suggesting a course of action. They're getting paid big bucks to do that... anyways, our dog is remitted and reassessed which means another charge when the first session was a complete misdiagnosis. They simply want your money and will try to take advantage of you. My question is to their actual level of knowledge. From what I've seen they aren't particularly skilled more than any other regular vet yet they are seen as the 'emergency' hospital to take your pets to. I would question everything they suggest and do your own due diligence.
They worked very hard for 3 days trying to save our dog Exceptional service
Horrible. It's all a cash grab. Would never take my dog here again. They wanted $7000 to remove a growth off my dogs eyelid. And another $1500 for a biopsy. Took my dog to another vet and was no where close to that. They have no compassion. Worst vet ever.
My cat had his eye surgery done here. Besides the price, everything was good. My cat recovered well.
Hard working staff that really care for the animals wellbeing
The staff are amazing with respect to thoroughness, quality of care, and keeping you updated. We’ve been fortunate not to need emergency vet services in the past, but we’ve had to visit twice in the past couple of months: once for my dog who had surgery complications and they provided monitoring/diagnostics, and just this past week with my cat who had a bowel obstruction (they saved her life!). I am so thankful for the work of the incredible staff here. I hope not to have to visit an emergency vet for some time but if I do, I know this is the right place to go.
Nothing but the best care for all your little fur babies
Maybe your clinic is great but the lady who handle my situation was not very personable
My 4 month old puppy severely reacted to his vaccines. If it wasnt for Mississauga oakville vet. We would've had to say goodbye to our baby boy. ! Due to COVID we couldn't be present in the building but we are grateful for the great communication we always knew what was happening.Thank you for the excellent care and communication.
Upon my dog getting not wanting to stand up all of a sudden due to a pain in his back we took him to the emergency. We got him in fairly quickly to get some x rays. Turns out the fluid between two of his vertebrae was depleted and the bones in his spine were rubbing and pushing together causing the pain and discomfort. The only option given to us was he needed to be put down. We wanted a second opinion so we took him and his x rays to a nearby vet off the collegeway. Thank god we did. The dr there said rehabilitation of his spine was potentially possibly but would require either a very expensive surgery but rather that he put him on a course of medication for two weeks to see what would happen. 3 months later on the meds his spine fused ceasing any pain, totally off medication and lived happily for another 7 years up to the age of 14. If had listened the the dr at the emergency initially, i would have been left with a hefty bill and a deceased dog. Thankfully other vets in the area have actual knowledge on the health of our animals.
I highly recommend this animal hospital. Everyone that I spoke with today was so incredible. I am forever grateful for Dr Hilton, she went above and beyond to make my horrible day less painful. Her kindness, compassion and patience was above anything I have ever encountered. Although the outcome wasn’t what I had hoped I felt completely supported all day long. THANK YOU. You have an outstanding office.
Helped in a combined effort to diagnose and treat my kittie. Ultimately saving my kitties life. Her quality of life is excellent now. Thank you.
Our dog had surgery twice... wonderful supportive friendly staff and vets.
God forbid your dog should get skunked in the eyes and require immediate attention. They told us not to bring her in because one of their employees is allergic to skunks. I fully appreciate protecting the health of employees, but maybe think of a mitigating strategy so you can take care of all dogs in emergency situations.
MOVEH saved Max's life in December 2019. We were referred by our local veterinarian after running into repeated urinary blockages over a few days. They provided multiple updates per day, and I had no doubt that he received the best veterinary care during his stay. The surgery team and emergency veterinarians were excellent (Dr Halling / Dr Bos). Can't say enough great things about the front office staff here as well.
Good but expensive, you get what you pay for.
I ended up taking my Irish Wolfhound here when he developed a bad case of pneumonia and subsequent elevated kidney values. As a Veterinarian myself I knew that Cedric needed medicine and care beyond what my own clinic could offer and they took him in without a bat of the eye. The Emergency Team, Internal Medicine Team and all the Techs, Radiologists, and assistants took amazing care of my boy. Dr. Ceballos and Dr. Sparks were amazing to keep good tabs on my boy and send me many updates! Cedric and I are forever grateful!
Dr. Webb and her team took great care of my dog Mikka. I never felt pressured to spend large amounts of unnecessary money. It cost a little extra to get in the door, but they are specialist so it's expected.
Super experience! Dog attended to promptly. Very caring and qualified staff. Highly recommended for your pet's care. Could be more satisfied. GVG
Thank you!!! Dr Emily is AMAZING! So professional and sweet, took care of my pup like she was her own and explained everything so well. What an incredible Vet! I had been told New Years Eve by another emergency clinic that my dog could wait to see her vet the following week while she had something stuck to her eyeball and it was rolling up and out. So scary. This clinic took her right away and 4 days later her ulcer was healed and she is feeling 100%. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart
Fantastic experience, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. I brought my 5 month old papillon in after choking on a chicken bone last night. We were referred to them from my regular vet. They wanted to redo radiographs which were just done an hour prior. At first, I questioned this, but let them go ahead anyway. Thankfully I let them, because the chicken bone was dislodged and a scope was not required. Sometimes it’s hard to trust people we don’t know work our babies, but these guys made is easy. Dr. Gray was great, very professional on the phone and clearly I am very happy with the result. A little shout out to Kelly who kept me in the loop the entire time! Thank you guys for helping my little one during such a time of crisis. You guys rock!
The Mississauga Oakville Vet Hospital is a great place to take your pet. The staff are always very knowledgable and caring. My animals had one on one vet care day and night. I am grateful for their help.
Excellent Animal hospital! Open 24 hours. The doctors and staff are very caring and compassionate.
I would not recommend taking your pet to this hospital. They charged a $90 fee just to come and get your dog from the car. I was not made aware of the fee until after. In addition, the staff and doctors are concerned with profits rather than the well being of the animals. They used sales tactics to get me to admit my pet in overnight when it was not necessary. I chose not to do so and the doctor did not provide any medications or treatment for my pet for home. After a three hour wait my dog came out just as uncomfortable as he went in. I made the mistake to tell the staff that picked up my dog that I have insurance for my dog which lead to them pushing to admit my dog overnight. The doctor did not have any empathy for my pet and was more concerned with selling expensive and unnecessary procedures.
We visited the emergency clinic Sunday May 2nd, 2021. Our beloved little cat Peep was very ill. Even with covid restrictions she was taken in quickly and seen in short order. The vet (l was too upset to remember her name) called us in the parking lot and gave us our options. She was in no rush for our decision and gave us some time to think about our decision. After discussing with her further we decided to euthanize our baby. They put her to sleep with my husband and l in attendance and even though she did not know us she was so thoughtful and caring l will always remember their kindness with her and us. I would recommend their services to anyone for their pet needs. They are caring and compassionate and made a horrible situation one that was filled with respect and dignity for our little Peep. Thank you all.
This place is fabulous. I'm so happy I found it now I have a better sense of security for my loved pet.
Good place for emergency purpose only
Beado loves the people but hates going!
Definitely lost the reason WHY they became vets. All about the money. If your beloved pet unfortunately needs surgery. This opens the door for them to rob you blind. Really gonna charge you $300 to sterilize their tools. TRIPLE THE PRICE OF OTHER VETERINARY CLINICS. $150 TO REMOVE A TOOTH. If multiple teeth to be removed. Yep $150 each. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THESE THIEVES
Dr. Andrea Finnen, Neurology, has great expertise, very detailed information, attended Ottawa Vet School 6th in the world, empathetic, prompt to respond. Staff was extremely helpful. My experience, relating to feline grand mal seizures, was great. I highly recommend her.
Our family would like to thank everyone at the Mississauga Oakville Emergency Hospital for their dedication, professionalism and compassion. We had to rush our dog there as he was fighting for his life. Every person we dealt with was sensitive to our situation yet extremely straight forward and realistic about Watson's care. We were given thoroughly explained options and guidance while trying to make critical decisions. Dr. Kyes and the team were so supportive with all of our family and very respectful of our overwhelming situation. Their expertise and compassion enabled us to feel confident about Watson's quality of care and the outcome of his situation. It was more than evident how committed they were to us, to Watson and to their profession. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
Amazing hospital. Filled with pro specialists. Very understanding and careing staff.
Good, caring, compassionate people who live animals, helping you get help for your furbaby!
wait in the car for emergency, have my primary phone number and secondary phone number. My primary phone battery die. Nobody come out to pick up my dog. When I call back in 5mins, they said they come out nobody here. Asked my parking lot number when I was here 10:30pm. Now is 12:22pm and ask me wait.
I would like to thank the intake technician who helped my dog Aspen this morning. He had a wood stick stuck in his back teeth and she was able to remove it. I am especially thankful for the promptness of the intake and the friendly and warm help that was provided. Thank you !
I can’t say enough about this hospital, the staff and oncology department! Emily’s communication, support and follow up was outstanding and Dr. Boston, in less than an hr, was able to find out what not only was wrong with our cat, she was able to find out her entire medical history and age... we were shocked to say the least. Her honesty and level of professionalism were difficult to hear, yet reassuring that we were finally getting answers. We adopted a Persian from a local rescue- Beamsville 4paw- 4 years ago, whom told us that she was 1.5 years old and was healthy aside from having some minor respiratory issues. The rescue recommended a local vet ( Hillview Veterinary Clinic in Beamsville) to use who took care of their animals, so naturally we continued taking her there. When she was rescued from 4paw, Hillview veterinary clinic spayed her which resulted in leaving her with a very large hernia but were told It was of no great concern as they said it would heal properly. They knew her history so we assumed we were in good hands. Our cat started getting chronic respiratory issues and a small lump on her breast but again nothing of great concern, and was manageable due to her age as far as we were told from the vet. In April we noticed the lump had started growing rapidly and her health started to decline daily. We took her for multiple tests and treatments and received prescribed antibiotics and medicine from Hillview with still no answers. We finally requested a referral to a specialist while still continuing to call and inquire about the status until we were finally contacted by Emily at MOV. She rushed us in the next day for testing as they were very concerned with our cats health. In less than an hour after we dropped her off, Dr. Boston was able to give us answers. It was unfortunate that she did have cancer of the lymph, breast and lungs among multiple other health issues that she thought we were already aware of. On top of all of this shocking news, We were also informed that our 4.5 year old cat was at least twice her age if not more. Despite all of MOV’s constant efforts and ours, we had to put our baby down 2 days after finding all of this out. Had we received this diagnosis earlier on in her life, perhaps we would have been able to make some different decisions and done something sooner. We are forever in MOV’s gratitude and will be returning to them if in the future we decide to adopt again. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. If nothing else it helps to know but unfortunately nothing makes it better.
I rarely write reviews but I felt it required in this case. We came in here at 5am to try and save our kitten we had for 4 days, which turned out with their cost couldn't be. $2500 to save an 8 week kitten that had a seizure and dying from Fading Kitten Syndrome as our usual vet informed us later. How this vet sleeps is beyond me, especially when we couldn't justify it, he became overly rude with no understanding. Ended up having to pay $300 to euthanize him...horrific experience to begin with, and a very sad outcome. *The staff other than the Vet were very comforting RIP Maverick
I WENT WITH MY DOG SATURDAY NIGHT EVERYONE WAS SO NICE AND FRIENDLY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!
Worst experience ever, all they care about is giving you their invoice with over charged amount , they do not care, only about the money. No compassion just dollar signs, had to wait from Friday to Monday afternoon for lab results, Dr. Said she would call on Sunday but never did and I had to call five times on Monday to find out results and a receptionist called me , not even Doctor. Worst place ever to take your sweet animal. Do your homework and find a better place unless you have lots of money to get rid off. Also I found them very unorganized.Terrible experience
Thank you so so so SO much to Naomi, a bright light in an emergency we had last night, when all other clinics we called were telling us to go somewhere else. Naomi was so much more sympathetic, helpful, and reassuring than anyone else that it helped us through the situation. Dr. Malik was very respectful, sympathetic, and informative during the call.
Complete lack of communication and customer focus, longer wait times than in a human emergency hospital, 75% deposit required before they will even look at your pet and then if they keep your pet overnight the bill will be a minimum of $2,000. I do not recommend at all
Veterinary staff empathetic and professional.
CASHGRAB CENTRAL! Total rip off. Play on your emergency and your love of your pet. Did $1200 worth of tests only to find out NOTHING because all the dog really needed was an ultrasound which they didn’t do. Complete waste of 8 hours and $1200. Dog is now booked in for an ultrasound (which in comparison costs nothing). Sent home with all kinds of meds they make you pay for which aren’t necessary. Never never never never again. Total SCAM. Should be ashamed of themselves. Vets - if you love your clients - do everything possible to NOT send them to this place. Total cash grab and they do nothing they actually should be doing. Complete waste of time and money.
My dog donate blood here, they have always been great with her. Very caring and compassionate folks work here
Very good place to go for professional practices, a must for any of your pets, highly recommended
Dr. Finnan is absolutely brilliant. If it wasn't for her deep knowledge and expertise I can say that my dog may not still be here. We came in at 4am with our dog who was suffering in a lot pain. And they knew instantly what it was and ran the tests to confirm and started treatment right away. Luckily by fluke we popped into this hospital as it was recommended by a family friend. After attempts to bring him to another hospital first with a somewhat rare disease that the other hospital misdiagnosed him which could have been fatal. We rushed him to the emerge in the middle of the night when we saw he had gotten worse and couldnt move without being in pain. Dr. Finnan and the overnight doctor saved my dogs life. It has been almost a year of treatment and Indy is 100% now and back to normal. We are so greatful to all of the staff at your hospital. Thank you !
The staff are all great and are trying hard to make the COVID restrictions work.
Referred here by our vet in Northern Ontario for our Havanese that required emergency gallbladder surgery. Arrived at 11:30pm our dog was assessed and they said they would have him stabilized until morning when they wanted to another ultrasound ( one had been done 5 hours prior with results sent to them. At 8:30 am we met with the doctor who said they had done the ultrasound and had the estimate for the surgery. He gave us an estimate of approx $10,000 as a total cost. He said that they would require 75% down payment. We said we could get them 4000 right away and would get the balance to them when we were able to get him home as they said he would have to stay for a couple of days. The doctor we were working with said he would see what he could do. He came back saying that management said NO. He said that if we cannot afford the surgery he would recommend euthanizing our dog. We tried explaining that we would come up with the money, that we just did not have it in our bank account at that time. After we made some phone calls we determined that OVC in Guelph would be able to do the surgery at a substantial reduced cost. The vet we were working with helped us get our dog transferred to Guelph. As it was the bill from 11:30 PM to 10am came to over $1300. When we ro Guelph we also found out that the report of the ultrasound that was sent to them from here was not accurate resulting in yet another ultrasound having to be done to get a proper diagnoses My rating for the clinic would have been 1 star of it had not been for the help of the attending vet getting our dog transferred to OVC.
I can’t express how appreciative I am for this staff. They’re so caring and calming. They all made me feel extremely comfortable when I had to bring my dog in. If you’re in need of a vet right away please don’t hesitate to come here. I know it’s hard trusting new people with our animals, but they love them just as much as we do. Thank you to the whole team for their dedication.
Excellent emergency care for my cat that required surgery.
My dog is doing great, thanks!
Great patient staff. Very pleasant.
Great service, our little didn't come back with us this time, we really appreciate it their help. We received a card a week after. It's quit touch our heart.
Would never recommend this place. 9 of 10 times nightmare to deal with. Over charge, always pressure and push to visit their emergency department (double rate), Cardiology limited hours pre covid. Sporadic during covid. Needed to have prescription filled, they couldn't find. I've had it for my dog 1.5 years. Multiple calls for receptionist to locate. Finally found. Absurd, poorly organized and highly unpleasant demeaner to push into emerg.
I am in tears typing this. The thoughtfulness of this clinic will never be forgotten. Two weeks ago my baby girl past away. Today I came home to a beautiful card from the staff, Jess, Kathryn, Kerianne, John, Jamie, & JC. You will never know how much this meant to me???? I thank you for your kindness. It means a lot during these times.
I have just started taking my dog, who has various illnesses to the Hospital ... Dr Rutland, internal medicine, is a wonderful, knowledgeable doctor. Everyone at this hospital that I have interacted with has been just lovely. I’m very fortunate to have my Newton in the hands of Dr Rutland, her team and the staff! A+
Great hospital. However , waiting system is horrible.
Dr. Bos and the team there were wonderful. We almost put our 9yr old GSD down because of a perianal fistula and perianal hernia which were out of control. They fixed him up like a brand new dog. Expensive surgery but worth every penny. Thank you for all that you do. Great experience.
I do NOT recommend MOVEH hospital to anyone. They are completely unprofessional and disorganized, and "emergency" service left a lot to be desired. You cannot go with your dog inside. Then you have to wait for over 2 hours for anyone to actually check your dog. And this was an emergency (i.e. double rate!). After another 2 hours the doctor finally told me that my dog would be released in 10 mins. After waiting for another hour I called and they told me the invoice is not ready. I wait and call again and this time they could NOT find a doctor to sign off on the invoice. They would NOT release your pet if the invoice is not paid. I had to call them again asking for my dog to be released, but they wouldn't do it until the doctor signs on invoice and they wouldn't allow me to pay the unsigned invoice either (!). Then 30 mins after $485 invoice was paid they couldn't find a technician to bring my 12 year old dog outside because they are extremely "busy". However, their technicians were happily chatting about good weather with somebody outside. Imagine your 12 year dog left in an unknown place for 5+ hours with questionable care. My dog was kept without water inside (he was extremely thirsty when they finally released him). One should wander if they actually care at all about animals kept inside. Finally, after discharge my dog was NOT given any medication (despite having a huge abscess!). Discharge papers required for insurance were never issued either. They insisted on an appointment with an internal medicine department (extra money) instead. That department didn't impress me either. I spent close to $6000 (CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, blood work). Yet instead of giving my dog the broad spectrum antibiotics the doctor gave my dog Clindamycin that doesn't NOT work on Pasteurella infection my dog had. For 6 days my 12 year old dog had to use the wrong antibiotic with a lot of side effects. And the doctor never ever followed up on the treatment she prescribed! The abscess became so bad that my dog could not open one eye. Finally, after 6 days using the wrong antibiotic I added Clavamox that actually stopped the abscess and then 3 days later MOVEH finally confirmed that I made the right choice. Then the MOVEH doctor suggested to switch to Enrofloxacin that works better on Pasteurella. But the wrong dosage was prescribed (yes, it's really unbelievable) ! My regular vet alerted me that at least 5mg/kg is needed and less than that would make infection resistant to antibiotics. Apparently, the doctor at MOVEH used pounds instead of kg when the incorrect dosage was calculated. So why did I have to pay $485 for useless "emergency" and $6000 for the wrong treatment?? I don't mind paying double for tests that they always insist on doing. But at least provide professional care for the premium charged! At the end I asked my regular vet for a referral to OVC in Guelph. If your dog requires special care then OVC is the best place. MOVEH only cares about your money. And they might actually kill your loved one with wrong treatment.
They have a great team !!!
The whole clinic was great as we tried to navigate decisions about quality of life and how much to intervene with my dog. They didn't pressure us at all to do more than we were comfortable with. Definitely recommend them
Professional care combined with love for all pets
We took our dog there because he needed blood transfusions for IMHA. They gave us one that didn't really help. Instead of telling us he needed more, they began talking about euthanasia. It wasn't until we told them absolutely not that they suggested we try another vet. We learned after that 1 transfusion never works and he'll need 4 or 5 more to battle the IMHA. If you love your pet please please don't take them here.
My Dog Vet refers us to MOVEH to see a specialist for my Dog health issue. Staff are very good and Dr. Prosser she is so helpful and explain everything for us. Thanks
What occurs here is atrocious, go only if it’s an absolute last resort. Coming here can make your emergency into a death. Thank god the amazing Dr. Polson by Royal and Ford was able to diagnose and treat my beloved buddy.
We had our 11 week old kitten admitted as she had a a seizure. The first evening we had a consult and the doctor told us she most likely partially blind and likely had brain issues but the only way to see a neurologist was to pay $1000 for one night and then they would see her in the morning so we did. She ended up having lots of tests ultrasounds etc. and the neurologist believed her eyesight is to be normal. I am writing this as I was devastated to hear the first doctor say she was most likely blind. That put me in such a shock and pure devastation. I wish she would have been more conservative with her opinion until she was sure. Our beautiful kitten was given seizure medication as they couldn't find any cause for her seizure. Very expensive hospital and not very warm and slow with testing but on a positive note we did find the neurologist to be very knowledgeable and happy to have our baby back home now.
Great doctor very happy with treatment for my puppy!!!
My dog died in the examination room. The staff are super sweet and helpful. And I know they do to the best of their abilities. I’m just really turned off because we rushed my not even 4 year old dog there as I knew something was wrong. It took about 2 hours to see a vet even though they took my dog and kept him in the back away from us. Eventually, we were called into the examination room. The vet looked us in the eye and asked us for 7,000$ to begin testing and keep him overnight to see neurologist in the morning. We asked to have our dog brought into the room so we could discuss and spend time with him at this moment after talking to vet, they did so and within 15 mins of that discussion with the vet our dog started breathing heavily and passed away. I get that things happen beyond our control, but to have been so sincere in the asking for 7,000$ not even 15 mins prior and then our dog passing in the examination room and the vet rushing in saying omg I’m so sorry I don’t know what to say was just brutal. That’s a big leap between let’s get him better vs dead in 15 mins....
We found out about our TT, Leia's lymphoma diagnosis by our regular vet and the following week we were booked for a personal call and an appointment with Dr. Gauthier.
The staff here is just amazing ???? I brought my girl here a month ago after North Town Vet hospital, played around with my girls precious time. They took her in right away and as I filled out my paper work my girl was going through triage, they had run tests on her in 30 min. We got a consultation, options and next steps with the vet in 45 minutes. They kept my girl for 12 hours and returned her to us in wonderful and healthy condition. We paid the bill and we were grateful that they did not try to charge with more than what was needed. The vet (I'm sorry his name is very hard!) was just wonderful and although he seemed cocky it was the experience that backed it up that blew us away. We owe this team a big thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️ We've attached photos in case your team wanted to see how the pups are now, and of course my girl.
My girlfriend and I found a skunk that has been hit by a car and could barely walk at 12:30am on a Saturday night. The animal control services was closed and the "pest" removal companies would "only do it for a fee". I called the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital and the lady on the phone told me that if we could secure the skunk and bring it in, they could help cease it's suffering in the final hours. We arrived at the hospital at about 1am after capturing the skunk with towels and the vet technician that first came out wanted nothing to do with the skunk, said they ONLY thing they could do was euthanize it, without even wanting to take a LOOK at it and it's injuries to let us know if it was even worth bringing her/him to a rehab facility. This amazing vet tech by the name of Jen heard what was going on and immediately came OUTSIDE (where we were told to sit). She asked my girlfriend to put the little guy on the bench to ASSESS its injuries. The little guy hopped off the bench and we could see that its back legs were DRAGGING behind him/her on the ground. Jen went back in for a few moments while I got on the phone with the Ontario Wildlife Center and got the name of a lady from Skunk Haven who rehabilitates skunks. She suggested that Jen do a reaction test to see if there was feeling in his/her back legs, which was negative. Jen came back out with a syringe with a sedative to ease the little one's pain. The rehab specialist on the phone said that the most humane thing we could do was humanely euthanize the poor thing and end its suffering. Jen wrapped it in towels and put in a carrier to take it to the back and euthanize it. We thanked her graciously for even coming to LOOK at the skunk, as I know this is an abnormal situation. Her response was, "Of course I'd look at him/her. I do whatever I can to help because I don't like to see any being suffering,". This woman has a heart of GOLD and it's vet techs like HER that help restore my faith in humanity. She is not JUST there for a pay check. She genuinely CARES! This woman deserves a RAISE! Thank you sooooo much Jen for going out of your way to help this poor creature who would have been in agonizing pain for the last few hours of their life. Thank you for HAVING A HEART and coming out to ASSESS it when your colleague rudely turned us away. We appreciate all that you have done!
Extremely unprofessional. They are only in business to make money and not help clients. They play on clients emotions and use the situation to benefit themselves rather than helping. It took 48 hours and no answers from them yet another vet found the problem in 30 mins.
I've been going there for the past 10 years with my dog for emergencies. Now, I've had good and bad, but more of the latter but in terms of some of the attitudes that prevail there and what seems to be a type of uppity mentality. Don't get me wrong, they know what they're doing and are relatively good at it. (although reading some of the other reviews has me shocked to be honest.... forgetting tools in an animal after surgery?? WOW!) Enough digressing. They ARE NOT CHEAP. This place is VERY, VERY expensive. They're invoicing system is (I suspect) INTENTIONALLY CONFUSING. Kind of like your bills from Bell, Rogers, etc. Now, they are all very capable people, they strike me as such. But because of how busy they are, you don't get the feeling that they're vested too much into your pet. I feel like a "thank you, come again" type vibe at times. But when you're stuck with nowhere else to go, this is where they cash in LARGE, "EMERGENCY" fees, the good ol' "EMERGENCY" label. After you're pet is done, lately I've found that I would be dealing with the assistants and not the actual vet. If I'm paying that kind of money, I want to talk to the vet who was working on my pet Not some assistant. A few of the vets have begun to strike me as "know it alls" and the word uppity comes to mind again. They seem to have this mentality like they're great, they know it and that's that. Regardless, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE room on you credit cards or money in the bank for your debit cards if you do decide to pay them a visit. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP.
My i year old lab axel was battling eye infection for almost 3 months we had him to many vets and they kept telling us that he would be ok and gave us medicine then we need up taking him to another vet hospital and he became worse there and his eye infection came to be worse he could not walk eat and he was peeing everywhere I eked up calling this animal hospital and we could not be more happy with them sad to say he ened up passing way but we are very grateful how they took care if him so thank you to everyone who took care of our axel
My Go To place for Specialty Advice and care for all my pets. They give this place 4 paws up!
I highly recommend this place, please don't just give one star because of waiting time and the money you have to pay. They put a note on the wall that they treat emergency cases first. Yes, they are pricey and long waiting time. However if you really treat your pets as your family. Take them to this place instead of local vet. This place is just like a mini hospital. They have all the equipments and you get most of the results right the way instead of waiting a day. I wish time could go back and I could take my cat in this place when he first had his urintary tract blockage, he might still with me healthy . Saddly this is the last place he visited . Our cat had a second P. U. surgery which did by our vet . After returning home, he hasn't peed and the situation was getting very bad . He couldn't even get up by himself. He was shivering most of the time. Stopped eating and drinking in the afternoon. We took him to our vet and he told us that he was blocked again .. had to put down. We were so sad but wanted to wait to see whether there still a chance or not. He was getting worse in the evening and we decided to take him here. We have been waiting 3 hours to see the doctor but before that they actually took my cat inside and checked his bladder and heart rate. Since they were normal so we had to wait to see the doctor. I understand waiting is frustrating but you get all the thorough information afterwards. He was admitted to hospital after the ultrasound so we were quite happy as there was still chance he could be recoverd. Between we finally knew why his situation was so bad . It was because there was error in the pu surgery which made him peeing inside his own body which we never told by vet. By the time we got home which was less than 15 mins. They called us the blood work results which showed the kidney was damaged nd he suggested to put down and there slightly a chance for him to recover . We returned there and they had a quiet cozy room for us to spend time with our cat for his last moment. We are glad that he passed away in this place. Thank you all the staffs and emergency doctor so we have a good last moment with my cat.
Great Hospital. They know their job very well. Two years ago they performed surgery on my dog's back, disc problem. My dog started walking after few weeks. My only concern is that it is very expensive. If money is not the issue then it is one of the best.
Our 5 month old goldendoodle broke her growth plate December 2020. The care was excellent. We had to have weekly visits for several weeks ( for bandage change and vet check ) Our puppy was excited every time we had a appointment. She is almost a year now and she is fully healed and doing really well. I would highly recommend this clinic.
Arrive early and wait and wait, called to see how long and they said other dogs are more critical. What about my dog? If it is not critical condition why I bring my dog here at midnight? Now is 12:30am wait in the car more than 2 hours and ask me wait.
Excellent and kind service. Very prompt in responding to questions.
The staff there are so kind, caring and compassionate
Truly an one of a kind experience. On October 3rd my family and I lost our 10 year old family dog Niara. The loss was unexpected and happened late in the evening at home, I called the hospital and they were immediately so kind and understanding of the situation. We took Niaras body in that night almost at midnight and through every step of the process they were patient and kind and were genuinely sorry for the loss my family was feeling. Today just over a month later we received a card in the mail personally signed by all the staff members with their condolences. It is an unexpected surprise but a much appreciated one. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone that I can. The level of professionalism and kindness is truly one of a kind
Saved our baby boys life..these people care and are good at what they do..our boy was in good hands here!
it's just a money machine mentality. there is no interest in your pet as much in all the unnecessary tests they want to run to charge you more
After calling as suggested by my Vet, I was instructed to fill out an online check in. When we arrived o called and in a short time my dog was taken in to emergency. I spoke to the vet 3-4 times during the day for updates and to give permission. Upon discharge I received a sheet with very clear instructions. The staff were all friendly and professional. A well oiled machine.
They took care of my cat as if it was their own pet. I recommend this vet to everybody.
Incredibly well run. Fantastic front desk, we dealt with two amazing vets...Dr Kyes and Dr Martens. Would highly recommend this hospital for pet emergencies
Stay away if you can, this place can run you into up to a thousand. Doctors are not pleasant unless you're famous for being a ATM.
Knowledgeable staff very curtious. Treated my dog very well and took good care of her during her surgery. Location offers many services including neurology and cardiology
The staff and the doctors are great. The wait time is bad. I think the admin staff can do a better job
What an incredible group of passionate individuals. Their care for the animals is absolutely clear. It's not often my dog actually gets excited to see the vet!
Waited 3 months for my appointment then made me wait an hour before they came out to get my dog for a simple consult for a dental cleaning. Then told me it would be another hour before they even saw him. Complete disrespect for others time and totally unprofessional . Unless your pet is on deaths door and this is the closest vet stay far away from this place.
Very friendly and thorough. I would highly recommend the service here.
My pup had a cut in his paw and luckily I found this place. They answered my call right away and were very helpful. The doctor kept me updated which was a huge relief as I was very worried. Thank you for your amazing service.
Excellent Dr. Tests were done right away and results provided.
secretaries and vet techs were very helpful and friendly. Dr.pragosa was ignorant, condicending and dismissive. would not go back here.
Outstanding, comprehensive and attentive care. Very grateful to this team of skilled and empathetic internists, surgeons, ICU physicians, and technicians
I took my cat here for an echocardiogram. Everyone was great, and they managed to do the prep and imaging without sedation (my cat can be an uncooperative patient so this was impressive). My cat turned out to be fine, but Dr. Minors still made sure to explain everything to me in detail to make sure I knew what was going on and *why* it was fine, and it was so helpful. Yes, I had to wait an hour and, yes, it was expensive, but I wouldn't hesitate go again if my pets need specialist care in the future.
I can't speak to every department in this place, we dealt with oncology because my dog had acute leukemia. MOVEH gave us the fastest appointment (a day faster than OVC and with acute leukemia, every second counts), so we made the trip. They did charge us an urgency fee, but it was only 1/3 of what we'd expected to be charged. The cost of the consult with the oncologist was also much less than expected. We were prepared to spend whatever it took to help our dog (although I understand, not everyone is in this situation). The oncologist took plenty of time listening to our dog's saga (4 vet appointments at our home vet, with 4 different vets, and only the last one had thought to do a simple CBC). She wrote everything down, and then told us all about canine acute leukemia; the disease, the treatments available, and the prognosis. She presented chemotherapy as an option, but also explained that some people choose not to treat and to do palliative care, and what that involves. She explained how dogs react to chemotherapy much better than humans and experience much fewer side effects. Then she answered my multitude of questions that I had from things I'd read and things I thought could help with patience and understanding. Then we were left alone to discuss what we'd heard and start thinking of the course we'd like to take. Next, the RVT came in (seems like the RVTs also specialize in their respective areas, so she was very knowledgeable) and gave us multiple estimates depending on the treatment option we wanted to take. She answered more questions, and gave us more time to discuss. It took about 5 seconds to decide we wanted to go with the most aggressive treatment (vincristine + L-asparaginase + prednisone), we were given options to take home medications to deal with side effects (metronidazole + Cerenia) *Tip: If your dog has acute leukemia you NEED these*. Our baby got his first chemo treatment right away. The RVT was incredibly genuine and it was very apparent that she cared so much for the dogs she worked with - we appreciated that so much. She was super patient explaining after-care and then repeating the instructions, and ensuring we fully understood what we needed to do (absolutely necessary in such a traumatic time). The overall cost of the urgent fee + consult + chemo was about 1/2 - 1/3 of what we'd originally expected. We actually live in Guelph, so the OVC is closer for us (less travel time for a sick dog is ideal). I tried to go through my home vet to get our dog into OVC for his next chemo and they couldn't get him in soon enough. We called MOVEH and told them we couldn't get into OVC, so we made an appointment with MOVEH for his next 2 treatments. Lo and behold, the MOVEH oncologist had pestered OVC for us and explained how severe our dog's case was, and the OVC called us to make an appointment exactly when we needed it. If MOVEH was all about the profits, they would not be spending their precious resources trying to get people into another clinic. Unfortunately our baby didn't even make it to his second chemo appointment (I do not fault MOVEH for this at all). His WBC was apparently one of the highest my vet and the oncologist had ever seen, so he was pretty advanced when we started treatment (he fooled us with his toughness because he was still walking, doing stairs, and eating). He was fine the morning before our second chemo appointment, but just hours later, he could no longer get up on his own, could no longer do stairs, could barely walk, and would no longer eat. The decline was so rapid that we didn't even have a chance to get him into ICU and it probably wouldn't have helped anyways, since his cancer was obviously non-responsive. We humanely ended his suffering and have not recovered since. There is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. I loved that dog more than anything, and I can say with confidence, that I would never hesitate to take a dog to MOVEH. They are kind, caring, cost-efficient, honest, transparent and effective.
Dr Webb internal medicine has been so helpful .. . we are dealing with an older dog that is dealing with kidney issues
$880 for a consultation and 1 view ultrasound. Highway freaking robbery! People come here because their beloved pets are sick and they are desperate for answers. I do understand that specialities take years to complete but isn’t that why you pay an average of 3x more for the consult than with just a regular vet? We were quoted $6000 for a 30min surgery. When we called our vet asking if we were able to do the surgery with them instead, we paid $1000. While the technicians and doctors are good and very compassionate, the prices are next to extortion.
Had seen 4 different Veterinarians to help my Puppy and not one had helped. Mississauga Oakville Clinic has 10000% helped my puppy and saved his life!! Cant thank these people enough, prices are very reasonable and would recommend this Clinic!
The staff here were incredibly horrendous. Told my friend that they would charge an obscene $5600 for an obstruction surgery. Declined a payment plan and said that the dog would have to be surrendered or euthanized. In the meantime Veterinary College of Ontario was contacted and also it will be made public via the Media. Client phone around and was told the surgery itself should of not been more than $600.00 to $1200.00 that they never heard of any Vet clinic not working with the pet owner's with a payment plan and certainly never heard the suggestion to surrender the dog to the Human Society so the surgery could be free, however the dog would be put up for adoption.
Rushed in with a sick dog on a Tuesday evening. I no sooner got in through the door, that someone just took her from me and rushed her to the back to be looked at and cared for. They are professional and caring. Extremely expensive however. On the other hand, they may very well have saved my dog. Their staff is friendly and helpful and provide you with any and all information you require to make decisions.
Fast and quickly took care of my dog Zeus on the long week end!
dr.Sarah Jajou has no knowledge in medicine, not professional, not reliable. Don't let her to kill or harm your love one pet.
There is a thing called pet insurance out there people! If you can't or won't provide for your own pet in the first place you have no right having a pet. Running an 11 specialist department/24 hour Veterinay service is, I'm sure, a rather challinging endever for anyone..obviously something non of you have any clue of. I would suggest to anyone that wishes to obtain a pet that it is your responsability to investigate the cost of owning pets before you get one. It is unbeleivably ignorant not to mention Irresponsable for someone to obtain a pet when they can't afford the financial responsibilities that come along with it and then blame money issues on the hospital because they can't afford to pay. It is only typical for people to divert blame from themselves onto someone or something else. Very classy of you!
Please please please do not bring your pet here, the staff is actually ridiculously rude and they don’t care about your pet at all. i’m shocked that these reviews are pretty good, they probably beg clients to write good reviews because this place is absolutely disgusting and needs to be shut down. Please look for another vet and pay the money else. All they care about is money and the lady at the front desk is so rude, Vets really need to invest more time in hiring staff because they just pick random people and don’t look for good people that are passionate about animals. Save yourself money and save your pets life and go elsewhere.
So we brought our little kitty here after he wouldnt stop vommiting one night. We called them at 1am on a thursday evening. They made us feel very comfortable, providing updates to keep our minds at ease.. they were very truthful and honest with all prices, risks, and his condition - they appeared to have taken quite good care of him. Most of all, names and details were recorded without typographical errors as is common occurrence amonh vets these days. Thank you all for your services - you guys should pitch pet insurance to the next peolle like us we woule have totally taken it!! Lol
Everything is amazing. Pricey but professional.
The treated my cat horribly. When I came to pick her up she looked 100 times worse then when I brought her. She looked terrified, urinated when the doctor came near her (she has never done that outside her litterbox) and her nose was all scratched up. She was so scared. It was heartbreaking. I took her to another emergency hospital and she was treated so much better. She wasn't scared when we were there and they properly treated her right away. This place was awful.
If your pet has an emergency, this is the last place you want to take him/her. I drove 1:30 hours to the hospital because my kitten needed a specialist for her disease. She was transferred from another hospital in a critical condition. After arriving to the hospital and telling them I had an emergency, they didn’t seem to really care and had me waiting for ONE AND HALF HOURS in the parking lot. I called 10 times and every single time they told me to stop calling and keep waiting. They told me that someone will call me “shortly”. Guess what, nobody called me. I went outside my car several times to talk personally to every single technician that will step on the parking lot. Guess what? They told me to keep waiting because they were “understaffed” and “full”. They had plenty of staff to go out to the parking lot to deliver medicines to other patients, talk for several minutes with other clients and taking all the time in the world to do it, but not to take in an animal in CRITIAL CONDITION??? After calling for the 11th time, they send out a technician to tell me to stop calling because they were annoyed and to keep waiting until someone called. Luckily, she approached to my car and I could roll down the window to show the critical condition of my kitten. After she saw her, the technician took her IMMEDIATELY inside and she was rushing to get in, now suddenly, they are not full anymore and they have space for my kitten. Sadly, my kitten couldn’t make it. I am extremely upset with all the staff here. It’s like they didn’t believe my words or didn’t seem to care at all. I called several times to the emergency line, and instead of helping me, they replied with bad attitude and told me to stop calling. The only fast thing that this hospital did was sending me the bill and asking me how I was going to pay the deposit. If someone tells you that there’s an emergency, could you at least have the DECENCY to check instead of turning your back right away?
Compassionate and.knowlegable, best specialist vet in ON
I brought my dog in for a consult on her first round of chemotherapy and was blown away by how compassionate and friendly the staff were. Dr. Gauthier let me know what the plan was every step of the way, and eased my stress regarding my dog’s prognosis and plan of care. Thank you to Dr. Gauthier, and the rest of the wonderful staff, for making a very difficult time that much easier. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital to anybody looking for the best and most thorough care for their pets.
Well run emergency clinic for pets but very pricey.
The Mississaugua Oakville Veterinarian Hospital Is an amazing place. My little dog took sick suddenly and my vet referred him to this hospital. Iam so glad and so thankful that we took our little guy there. They saved his life. He was critical and barely alive. They took him in and immediately knew what to do and how they were going to try to get him to regain his health. The knowledge and the experience that the doctors, technicians, nurses, receptionists show is absolutely life changing. They are just an amazing staff and fantastic human beings. All the animals that come through their doors are treated with the utmost respect and kindness, tenderness and love that is such an overwhelming feeling to the owner. There are no words to describe the sadness and being so afraid of losing your baby. The staff are so very helpful and the Doctors are absolutely reassuring and make you relax and trust them. The doctors are straight forward and so very polite and courteous and they never leave you guessing or wondering what is going. They make sure that you know step by step about everything that is going on for your pet. You can feel the compassion and love ❤ that these human beings give to our pets. We forget that they are our heroes and without them working so tirelessly to try to heal and help any animal that comes into their clinic. Words are not enough to express the gratefulness and ❤ for this hospital. These heroes go above and beyond to save as many animals that they possibly can. Without these angels where would we and our pets be. I know I have a new found respect for the staff that run the hospitals. I do hope that if your pet needs help that they are lucky enough to go to this amazing hospital. I have no idea how I will ever thank them but I will figure out a way. From the bottom of my heart thank you. Sharon Boyce
They were efficient & very communicative ,also detailed in info, huge thanks for your help !!!
My family has been using them for many years. Nothing but good things to say ????
Service was great and pretty fast but there weren't many people there that night. The lady at the front desk and Dr. Kendra Goulet were both very friendly and kind. No complaints except for the price...very expensive.
The expert team at the emergency hospital took brilliant care of our 14yr old Border Terrier during a major medical event that required surgery. It is not a typical vet for your dog, but one of the best places to bring your pet if something terrie might be happening. They have my trust and appreciation.
Visited the emergency hospital for the first time Saturday evening. My JRT had a little accident with her paw pad and despite the wait -- was blown away by Dr. Krayz and the entire staff that evening. From being greeted when we first walked in, to discussing treatment, and finally having my little munchkin carried out to me. I cannot express the relief I felt on the drive home knowing the best efforts were made to keep her comfortable. Thank you for the special care and for attention to detail. You can only hope to never have to visit an emergency hospital however definitely the right decision made.
Hi Initally I had a very bad oinion of the Oakville emergency due to an event which occured in 2010 with my pet Spike, as such infact I refused to Take my boy Buster there but Had to beacuse it was the best possible situation for him. The way the Lady doctor and the staff looked after him , communicated with my daughters and made him comforatble was admirable. Eventhough the out come was not the bast for us but it was the beat for him as his Cancer serious. At that time the Doctor was wonderfule and gave us enough tme with him. So I left sad but with a very positive opinion of the hospital and the staff. This happened on March 6 2018 and My boy was Buster the GSD cross.
Even though there was a mix up with the appointment time with our refering vet they still made time for us to see another vet in an hour to see our sick cat. They even put our cat in a cage so she didn't have to wait too long in a crate to see the specialist. They also gave us time to discuss our options in private before having to make a significant decision on end of life care for our cat.
Great and professional staff. Had to take one of my dogs due to a health scare and they took care of her in the best possible way.
Our Dog was entrusted to the Clinic last week Sunday morning. Our Dog has passed Monday morning at or around 2 am. So I called for answers for the condition, and a better understanding. Is it too much to get ra phone call for a briefing, and paperwork sent. I have left several messages to the Doctor who treated our Dog to call. I have been trying to get a briefing, or an overview, to understand, and I still don't understand as to why there was no intervention i.e.: sedated oral/pharyngeal exam. Its confusing because that would have made sense to see if there was anything blocking her megaescophagus ? X-rays were done, and I don't know if there was anything remarkable. So all I want is answers. Perhaps I am in shock that our Dog is gone. However, it would be nice if we had a briefing, and better understanding as to why and how this occurred. I just wanted to know if there was anything that could have been done. I have asked for the bill, consults, b/w, X-rays so that I may understand if there was anything there? Too quick, shock, and just trying to understand. Our Dog passed at 2 am Monday and was euthanized because she had decompensated drastically in a short period of time Friday am-sick/Monday at 2 am gone! So I am not happy about this situation.
Amazing clinic! The staff were very attentive toward us, and gave our dog excellent quality of care
The workers were very kind, The doctors were also very kind and let us know about every step they took. They emailed every detail right away. They send text messages to let me know about how my pets were doing. And it was also very sweet that they sent photos, without me even asking. Which helped me feel more relieved about how my cats were doing at the hospital. Even after their discharge they still called me to check on how my cats were doing at home.
We attempted to have our dog seen this morning as we were told the wait would be around 1 hour. We ended up leaving after 2.5 hours as we were told that we were next an hour ago. We Seen a few more dogs that pulled in long after we arrived got seen before we were even called back (our vall back was well over 3 hours later) our situation was an emergency as our dog was bleeding and crying and needed a vet. The communication from this hospital was poor to say the least. They didn't make any attempt to keep up informed on weight times, we had to reach out to them. We truly regret considering this place and will never recommend them due to thoer sub par quality. I feel like they didn't bother to see us becuase we weren't a regular there. I wish I would of known how horrible this place is managed before wasting that many hours. I understand they were busy as all vet's would of been but thier lack of communication and the way they choose to prioritize thier patients seemed unreliable and random. Our situation was an emergency as our dog was crying in pain and bleeding from her stool. If youtr reading this and are thinking of giving them a try my advice is keep looking unless you like spending the day in your car. Doesn't matter if you're actually having an emergency, that doesn't seem to affect times. Thank you for wasting our time.
This place is very well kept and the Vetenarian surgeons are mindful and cautious in making proper decisions.
Professional, kind and caring. Not much else to say. If you want the best for your pet, they are the ones you want to go to
I recently took my dog here to have an esophagoscopy to remove a swallowed foreign body. While the on-call vet was excellent, the GI vet on call was extremely rude, refusing to speak with me before the procedure. To add a little context, I am actually a surgeon: can you imagine if I simply began operating on somebody to remove their thyroid without explaining the risks and benefits of the procedure to them? Ridiculous. They get 2 stars because they appear to be competent, but lost 3 because the people working there are rude, dismissive, and arrogant.
Our dog leelee was in distress with a heart murmur the doctor gave her a shot and it was very helpful and at 4AM this was the only veterinarian in my area were still hoping that she would get better.
The doctors and staff here are absolutely amazing. I can't get over how nice and knowledgeable these people are. Great service and great care. I couldn't have asked for a better place to take care of my pet. Boots and I are very happy! Thank you!
They did a great job and treated my bullmastiff like he was there own
Professional and accommodating... they have a tough job and they gave us all the time to grieve.
If you would like to save your animals life then you bring them here...point blank. I was transferred here by my regular vet, Chunky (French Bulldog) was in very critical condition. They were expecting me when I arrived and I handed him right over, they swept him right to the back. I was hysterical, the front desk staff took me into a room and assisted me with the paper work. I was kept up to date, everything was happening was clearly explained and communicated with kindness. I elected to move forward to the procedure, the hospital kept me informed via phone of the progress. I have read the comments here about the hospital taking advantage in respects to cost - that is simply not true. The Dr's, nurses etc are the best in the business - they have continued their education to specialize in their respective fields in order to SAVE your pet. If you want the best care then that comes at a cost - a small price to pay in my opinion for the life of a family member. Today they saved my Chunky and I am forever grateful, thank-you for saving my boy.
HIGHLY recommend. As per my vet tech friend, this is one of the top Vet hospitals.
Excellent Emergency Hospital. Our chihuahua had the best care...would highly recommend.
Staff is very friendly and the most caring. Prices are a little high, but that's to be expected when they're open 24/7 AND have specialists on site/on call
I strongly urge anyone to find another pet hospital. They will take advantage of anyone in a desperate situation. We brought our 5 month old kitten in during emergency hours as he would not eat, drink, and was vomiting for more than 24 hours. We waited for 3 hours before seeing the vet. When we finally did get to see the vet, she was extremely uncaring, and rude. After explaining that our kitten was neutered three days prior, she said `why are you telling me this' - I was simply trying to give her all the facts. She insisted our kitten had eaten something he shouldn't have and required ultrasounds, x-rays, and admittance overnight - costing $2,000. Our initial response was to find out what other options were available - at which time she did give a $300 take-home option of fluids and anti-nausea medicine. Not once was this option mentioned before we asked. We decided to go with the take-home option and reassess if his condition did not get better, but not without being chastised for not being willing to spend $2000 (and being told to "find some friends" or take out a loan to help pay). Thankfully, our kitten made a full recovery at home after being given the medicine, so we did not have to go back to this horrible place. We truly felt sickened by the fact that this pet hospital is taking advantage of people in horrible situations. Why they would not try giving our kitten anti-nausea medicine before suggesting to spend $2,000 on tests is beyond me. Find out all of your options!!
Dr.bos was very helpful and made sure we knew what we were getting into becor the surgery for are dog. When we droped him off for the surgery all the staff was helpful and friendly. When we picjed are dog up the next day lindsay explaind to us what was done and what after care we had to do and even called the next day just to see how everything was going with are dog would highly recommend this place to any one and the best part about it its not like most other aces you bring your pet to that smells like bleach this one is very clean. Keep up the awsome work to the staff here
I brought my 11 year old boston terrier down for a neurology consult, and probable back surgery, as he was dragging his foot, and thought to have an injured disc in his spine. I was an hour early for our appt, but they took him right back, and the neurologist, Dr Duque, had seen him and assessed him even before our original appt time. Unfortunately, he had worsened overnight from the time our regular vet booked the appt, to the next morning when we were seen. I knew going it that it would be expensive, but I have pet insurance, and he was my service dog, so I wasn't concerned with costs. I met with Dr Duque, and she informed me that he no longer had deep pain sensation in his legs, and was likely paralyzed. She recommended an MRI, which I was expecting, because spinal injuries can't be seen on regular xrays. I was in touch with my own vet throughout this time, and Dr Duque spoke with her before taking him into the MRI, giving her opinion. Unfortunately, the MRI showed that he hadn't injured his back as we thought, but had inflammation of his spine of unknown origin. He was put on high dose steroids in hopes of bringing the inflammation down. This was thursday. We set things up for him to be kept until Monday, and we would constantly reassess. He showed slight improvement on friday, but when I spoke with Dr Duque on saturday morning, he had again lost his deep pain sensation. I headed down to see him, and found out when I got there that about 1/2 hour earlier he began to have trouble breathing. The paralysis was ascending, and soon his diaphragm would be paralyzed, and he would be unable to breathe on his own. I was absolutely heartbroken. We rushed him back to the ICU to put him on oxygen in hopes that might help. When I saw him after they had him settled into the ICU on oxygen, it was evident that things were not going to get better. I called Dr Duque back, and told her it was time. I have to give kudo's to the tech I was dealing with, she brought me back into a "quiet room", with a nice couch, and warm comfortable atmosphere. Then they brought Tucker to me, and I held and cuddled him for about an hour, listening to "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, she had dedicated that song to Tucker and I a few years ago, and I told him how much I loved him, etc. They did things on our time, on our terms. Finally I was ready, and Dr Duque came in, and as I held my sweet boy, he passed peacefully away. I was given all the time that I needed to spend with my sweet baby after he was gone, probably spent about 2 hours, before I finally handed him back. The tech was very sweet, making sure he was wrapped in a blanket, he always loved his blankets. She also took photo's for me, before and after he passed away. I cant say enough about all the staff here, from the front line crew, to the techs, and Dr Duque. To the techs who took my late night calls inquiring about my baby, thank you. And thank you for cuddling him and loving him when I couldn't be there for him 24/7. While it was the worst day of my life, the experience itself was made tolerable thanks to the staff, who were all compassionate and professional. I should also add that after each consultation with Dr Duque, she took the time to speak with our own vet, whom I trust without a doubt, and she confirmed everything, and agreed with Dr Duque. Thank you, from myself, and Tucker
Had our pet taken to the emergency .. we had our hicups but some staff and doctor's were very polite and good .
This hospital saved my dog. Words do no justice as to how thankful I am for everything they did. My baby got rushed in for emergency surgery when he became paralyzed out of no where. His INCREDIBLE surgeon Dr. Bos, is an angel in human form. She removed the herniated disc and the scar is barely noticeable. The staff reassured me that the surgeon was very happy with the amount of disc that was removed, and ultimately, that is why Benji is walking today. He LOVED Amanda, his nurse, who helped him recover the 3 days he stayed in the hospital. She was another angel in disguise. Always answered my questions and was so helpful with the entire process. I just watched my sweet boy run around in the backyard 5 weeks post-surgery and I couldn't help but cry. Thank you to the amazing team that comforted him after surgery and took care of him, the doctors, the surgeons.. everything. It was worth every single penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat. If your animal is in desperate need - please, bring them here. Thank you MOVEH for everything. From the bottom of our hearts.
This is the best animal hospital in the world. Dedicated people who really care about every pet that gets brought in
Dr. Gautier was absolutely wonderful. I was very stressed out when my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. She provided him the absolute best care and was on top of everything every step of the way. We requested to be transferred to Guelph due to location reasons and without us asking, she helped facilitate the transfer and made sure all the reports were sent on a timely manner. The staff were also wonderful and treated my pup very well.
Both myself and a family member were both given quotes over the phone to put our dog to sleep given the breed and weight at approx. $300 ... however when we arrived we were surprised that the quote did not include the cremation which was an additional $150 bringing the total to $450. Not a pleasant surprise, more transparent pricing would have been appreciated. Left a email regarding the experience, never heard back unfortunately.
It's never fun to go to an emergency but the care and prompt service can make your experience better. It was great to be able to call and get update on our wait time, on my dog's status... thank you for your excellent care ????
The only good thing about this, is that it's open 24 hours. It's grossly overpriced and sadly, the staff isn't the best. If you can avoid it, you'll save yourself a ton of money! ! But, if it's a matter of life or death, by all means, go for the sake of your pet.
I brought my 14 year old cat with liver issues to internal medicine for a second opinion after not being satisfied with the specialist at the VEC. So far I am extremely happy with my experience with the staff and care received from Dr Hanselman. With covid restrictions still in place, unfortunately I could not go inside during the appointment, but the communication from the staff throughout the appointment was beyond my expectations. Dr Hanselman showed a lot of compassion and actually listened to me, and came up with a non invasive treatment plan for my cat. It has been over a year seeing my cat sick and slowly go downhill from her liver issues, and finally a vet prescribed her medication and I am seeing a dramatic improvement! She is not out of the woods yet, but I am finally optimistic and very happy with the care she is receiving. Thank you MOVEH!
The staff are very kind and helpful in guiding you in medical decisions
Great facility when your pet needs help fast.
Amazing clinic. Staff kept us informed of our dogs status. Excellent care
Definitely over price but the staff are fantastic. Wouldn't go there unless it's critically necessary
I brought in my dog this evening as she vomited a significant amount of blood and had very pale gums. They took her and checked her vitals, told me her vitals were good so it would be an hour and a half before she saw the doctor; she was third in line. I called them two hours later as I had heard nothing, and was told she hadn't been seen yet, but the doctor would call me as soon as they could. Half an hour later I called again, my dog still hadn't been seen, and I was told there were now four cases ahead of hers; that further emergencies took precedence over my dog. At this point I was very frustrated. My dog was vomiting blood, is this not an emergency? If they were so confident she could go four hours without further examination, I should have been told this originally. I would have taken her home and monitored her myself instead of waiting four hours for any kind of update while I sat at home worrying about my dog. I understand there are emergencies however I don't feel like they took my dog's case seriously, nor did I receive the transparent updates I should have. I would not recommend this place.
Very patient and friendly, its just the waiting time made me so painful.. I felt that the sitting and waiting almost leads me to labour lol. So far its a good hospital and if me or my friends ever gonna need emergency veterinary service, ill go here for sure
Great hospital I had called Clarkon in a state of panic for my cat as he was non stop vomiting. My regular vet has told me to take him straight to emerg so I drove out of my way to Mississauga Oakville vet and to be honest I never trust random places with my pet. However I dropped moza off and they still took him in even though they were backed up 6 hours. They kept him under observation and gave him so fluid under the skin some anti nausea meds they even gave me free sample food to take him. They were so awesome that they even sent me a picture of moza via text because they could sense my uncomfortableness I might have called 7 times that night to check up on moza condition and each time they were so patient and kind with me words can’t explain how grateful I am of the amazing customer service from the staff and the exceptional work from the dr. I appreciate you guys so much.
Horrible excuse for a Veterinary Hospital. Complete lack of compassion for animals and humans. Their first quote they'll give you is just to see how much money they can suck out of you. All they want is your money. Once it became clear that a $10,000 bill for a day and a half was impossible for me to come up with, the price miraculously dropped to $3000. And once they saw that my dog did not respond well to his FIRST blood transfusion, well they decided they would likely not get anymore money out of me and suggested euthanasia. ONLY THEN when I decided that no-matter-what I would find the money to somehow pay for another blood transfusion did they reveal that they could not treat him anymore because they ran out of blood. Why refer a patient to another hospital that has the supplies necessary to save a dogs life when they can get paid to kill him right then and there?! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with this place. Anyway they ended up referring me to OVC in Guelph because they had the blood on hand to perform more transfusions. The faculty, students and staff at OVC saved my dogs life and are truly remarkable human beings who take the time to explain what is going on. Oh yea and they're MUCH cheaper. Don't waste your time and tears on this place. COMPLETE CROOKS
While I cannot speak to the conditions inside this place I can say that they are a huge money grab. Earlier this week I had been referred to this place by my dogs vet. We wound having to spend an enormous amount of money for what was supposed to be a one night stay and several tests and the doctor would call us the next morning to talk with us about the next steps. Well it turned out they had zero intention of running any of the tests or even calling me back the next day. In fact they were going to keep my dog another night to supposedly run the test and even add an ultrasound that we would not have been privy to until after the fact. I highly suggest bringing your pets elsewhere if you have an emergency with your pet.
If I could give zero stars I would. All what this place cares about is money not your pet. They are very bad to a point that they will kill your pet just to make extra cash out of you. They told me my cat is suffering and we have to put him to sleep and I refused, till today my cat is living with no problem. STAT AWAY!!
zero stars, Scam. This clinic accepted a referral from my vet under false pretenses knowing full well they wouldn't be able to treat him due to a staffing shortage. DO NOT bring your dog here for an eye exam. I wasted $400 on a consult and diagnosis only to be told at the end of the consult with the vet opthamologist Dr. Bauer that "we don't do surgery here anymore, you will need to bring him somewhere else." No vet in clinical practice can operate on a dog on the basis of a diagnosis from another vet, therefore I had to pay another $400 at another clinic to have my dog go thru the same exam again, but this time the vet opthamologist can actually operate on my dog. Terrible business practices and I feel really bad for individuals having to go through this. Do yourself a favour and go see Dr Nick Whelan in Waterloo if you dog has eye issues.
Brought my 15 year old dog here because he was in extreme pain on Christmas eve, I had to call humane society becuase he was in so much pain that I couldnt pick him up. Arrived at vet and waited 2 hours with no updates on his condition, after the wait the vet just slapped me with a $300 bill and pain killers. Its now Christmas day and my dog hasn't eaten in 2 days and will not eat even a chunk of steak I put the pills into. I do not drive its Christmas day and im sitting home with my son listening to my dog yelping in pain so when I called rhe vet today the receptionist hung up on me.... worse experience ive had in my entire life.......
Brought my beagel here for a liver ultrasound. They called me with the results and I was happy they did not try to push further testing, exploration or anyting that wouldn't make sense. They were honest and gave the results and reasonable opinions on moving forward. 1st visit US same pricing as Toronto with tax $800.
Excellent care of our dog in her time of need
Amazing hospital and fantastic staff !!! I took my 10 wk old puppy in , she was vomiting, diahrea, not eating , dehydrated. Immediately as I arrived they took her fast into emergency and did tests, they hooked her up to all the necessary machines she needed. I felt safe the second I got there. I knew she was in good hands. The Veternarians and technicians worked wonderfully on my puppy. They were extremely helpful. Answered all my questions in detail. I never felt rushed , they were kind , compassionate and most of all caring !!! My puppy stayed there for 6 days. It was expensive I admit but worth every penny. They monitored her every moment she was there from beginning to end. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hospital if you love your pet as much as I do this is the place you need to go to if you have an emergency!!I’m thankful that my family vet told us to come here cz it’s the best vet hospital in the city !!!!! Thank you OMVH!!! You saved my puppy’s life !!!!
I would never recommend this place to any pet owner. I did not have the chance to use their services because I spent at about 2 and 1/2 hours calling them on a Sunday I was never able to get any answer. In my case I was lucky that there was a clinic in Mississauga open and could help me with my issue.. Thanks Bristol Veterinary Hospital for your assistance and great service . I would give this clinic a negative review but I aint got the choice
Took our dog there. Attentive staff.
Very caring. Excellent care and follow up
Knowledgeable vets and staff. Good service.
I took my dog there just before christmas 2013. Was told there was an issue with her eye. 1.Poor followup you call and there is no one to provide you with an update . 2. I'll have them call you right back means 6hrs later and to tell you the pet has to stay yet another day. 3. A lot of costly unnecessary testing with no firm answers. 4.No sense of cost to the family .1 test performed per day as if bloodwork cannot be done the same day as an eye pressure exam.So I guess 100 tests will have to be run in 100 days. Three days and $3000 worth of tests and still no answers and counting. I'm moving my dog to another clinic .
The staff was very informative and polite. It was a extremely long long wait. Thst was tge only down fall. Got there's 830 pm and finished at 330 am. Overall they were amazing .
my puppy had an allergic reaction to something unknown took her in, vet shrugged it off gave her an anti- histamine and sent her home. Her face is still swollen and shes yelping obviously in pain, I call the vet back to ask if this is normal behavior or ask next steps. she hung up saying she would call back and hasnt yet....
They have a large number of services and specialists available and are open 24-7. Emergency fees are really high, and I'm not sure if they offer payment plans to mitigate that burden.
Super bad experience .they don't care for the pets only for the money .I'm really upset and disappointed
I wish I didn't even need to put a star on here. Where do I even start? I'm a first time dog owner and this is all very new to me and they clearly took advantage of that. They acted very quickly, but they always made sure they got ahold of my credit card first. My dog started in opthalmology and then into neurology, so you can only imagine how large that bill became. Its funny, how everytime I tried to get ahold of the doctor they were busy, but they called me relentless to make sure they got my payment and my 75% downpayment....absolutely ridiculous. They prescribed the WRONG MEDICATION, 3 TIMES!!!! its a good thing we were diligent and paying attention otherwise we could have killed our own dog based on their faulty prescriptions. Bringing her down dosage, then up, then down again. Her case was very sensitive and the dosages were critical to her recovery. They were also very rough with my dog and rushed out of out the appointments that they made us wait at least an hour for each time. The only time they gave a damn was when I complained to two different managers. If you have another option, I recommend you bring your dog elsewhere. I didn't know better and wanted to make sure my dog was taken care of, but now i know for next time.
An incredibly compassionate place. They were so kind when we had to face a heart wrenching decision regarding our beloved dog recently. They even sent a sympathy card after her passing. Where do you see THAT anymore from people who dont know you...
Profesional caring intelligent staff. Our dog was very sick when we took him to the hospital. When he came home he was perfect. Absolutely the best vet's. Thanks to all of you we have our boy back healthy as ever.
Very satisfied with them They were amazing
When we brought on our dog to Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency hospital we were anxious and worried; our dog showed complex symptoms of an undiagnosed illness. Our dog was admitted into the I.C.U. Ward that night and the group of caring medical professionals at this hospital were kind, professional, quick to give updates when called and took their time to clearly explain their findings. They asked us what our goal was and we expressed that it was to make a diagnosis and heal our dog; with that consent and proper paperwork they diligently worked to piece the puzzle together and their goal aligned with our own--to return him to good health. When our dog was discharged from the I.C.U. they presented us with a comprehensive Patient Discharge Summary. They only charged for the tests and procedures that were done and even though the original Estimate was for a longer stay they Discharged our dog earlier--any vet only interested in money could have easily kept him for extra days and this Hospital DID NOT do that. Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital functions like a real hospital and we would recommend them to any pet owner who has a real emergency!
We have had several visits for two dogs over the last 5 years with two very different outcomes. Both times excellent compassionate care was given. In fact, our neurologist contacted us after the fact to convey her consolences. I cannot recommend MOVEH enough. Pet people have access to the best and brightest doctors here...money well spent. Thanks to #DrHalling and #DrFinnan
We had a sudden unexpected emergency happen with our sweet boy Jackson on 12/22/2020. Our vet didn’t have the technology needed to diagnose him and referred us to Mississauga-Oakville. We were tended to quickly (unfortunately because of COVID-19 we couldn’t go in with him) we received phone calls on everything happening from Dr. Sarah Jajou. As I see my dog as my guardian angel I truly believe Dr. Jajou is Jacksons. We had to leave him for surgery and a few nights but she gave us information to make an informed decision and assured us it was nothing we did. The hospital was also nice enough to let us come in to give him one more cuddle as we had to leave him. Every day we received phone calls and texts with pictures included with his updates. Jackson was able to come home 12/24/2020 and we couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift. Dr. Jajou you are a kind, intelligent woman with a beautiful soul and I truly believe you are meant for your career. You definitely have Jackson (and us) cheering you on! Again, thank you so much to everyone in reception, neurology and the vet techs who watched him afterwards. We still tear up thinking about you all! THANK YOU! If anyone is worried to leave their pet in their care don’t hesitate.
If I could rate at 0 stars, I would. While they were responsive, they totally misdiagnosed my girlfriends puppy. She obviously had irritation and what looked like an infection, even to a layman. They only gave her probiotics....obviously that didn't work so we took her to our regular vet, who stayed behind their closing time, and saw what a terrible job the oakville emergency hospital did. They said "what were these vets thinking? Very irresponsible and dangerous". Our puppy's condition was much more serious than just a probiotic diagnosis. Was infected, taking meds, and wearing a cone. If we were not proactive in going to our regular vet, who knows what would have happened to our puppy. We should have never gone to the emergency hospital. Wasted $$$ and time. Do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
My heart is broken as I had to put my beloved 11 year old cat down. My only solace is that he received compassionate, heartfelt and knowledgable attention from the doctors. Dr. Malik you asked so many questions when I brought Rascal to you. You took the time to find out every detail about him, his habits, his personality which I appreciated. I was comforted by the fact that I knew he was in good hands. Dr. Benson I can’t tell you how much I appreciated you last night. You took the time to explain to me every detail of Rascals diagnosis, reactions, possible outcomes down the road, all options and ultimately you helped me find the right decision for my beautiful cat that was in an incredible amount of pain. Even during his last moments you kindly and softly and compassionately explained every detail of what you were doing. You caressed him with me even after he was gone. You gave me respect during such a painful time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Liana Hart
They were honest with my cats diagnosis, even though it was not a good prognosis. Thank you for being so kind and understanding.
My Dog required major surgery in the middle of November. Specifically he had IVDD. Two weeks later and he is doing well. I couldn't be happier. Both the doctors and the technicians were very attentive and gave us regular updates.. It was a bit pricey but the results were good. Shopping for a bargain didn't really seem like an option. I thought he received good care! Thanks to everyone!!
Brought my cat to get spayed. They gave her the best care. They came to the car both when I picked her up and dropped her off. Staff are very caring. I would definitely bring her back!
The staff are wonderful and took care of my dog during a tragic emergency. Emergency vet bills add up, so I am now going to look into pet insurance for the future. The staff took my dog in quickly, and kept me informed. They allowed the option of calling in for updates as well, as I know they have a lot to deal with, so fur parents need to exercise patience. I cannot recommend this animal hospital enough, they are equipped to handle it all. Thank you for all that you do!
!! AVOID AVOID AVOID !! Purely out of being in close proximity and 24/7 hour service did we bring Yoshi here to combat his seizures. Our lovely Yoshi experienced seizures in January of 2021. Since then, we've had nothing but poor experiences with the hospital and have moved Yoshi to an alternative vet. The hospital sold us on consulting with a neurology specialist vet with the premise of having a consistent track record and vet to look after him. After being discharged however, we were told to go back to our regular vet for quarterly blood work, medication refills, and check-ups. Why upsell a $500 service with the promise of the care of a specialist just to recommend that we go to another vet? This was 1 of many red flags for us, and we have no interest in ever returning here.
4 hours in the waiting room after I'm told my pet has a fever and didn't Even see a vet ! The lady on the front desk was more concerned bout having shrek on the tv then anything else. Bring your beloved pets else where. Hopefully the management/ directors read these reviews and take them seriously. I know I will tell everyone I know with a pet to never bring them to this hospital. Very disappointing
Always reliable and great care, just a bit pricey. But good to know there's someone open 24/7. They also give you all your options, risks and chance of success.
The doctors and staff were amazing, and seem to have treated my dog amazingly. He spent three nights there, and even though they could not give a diagnosis for exactly what was wrong, they probably saved his life. My only complaint was meticulously they charged for every little action. The cost was high, and put me in debt, but I would spend it again tomorrow.
My dog had an emergency. They said they were full
I just called the facility - my 14yr old dog who is dying (have an appt to put him down tomorrow morning :( :( :( :( ) to ask what should I do if he passes in the night? Receiptionist was talking and laughing away, asked me to repeat myself then said breezily "oh just bring him here after we deal with that"...as i sat there shocked i tried to explain that i was referred there to which she said"sigh.... you are NOT on the phone with xxx clinic, you are on the phone with MissOak clinic and if you think your dog is dying 12hrs is a long time to make him suffer so you should just bring him here now". Horrified, traumatized- DO NOT use this clinic - I will put my baby to rest tomorrow at my trusted vets, and if he passes before, I would rather call the Oakville Humane Society (24hrs) than deal with these people or at least their receptionists.
They’ve helped our dogs so many times. Great care and wonderful doctors.
Very disappointing experience here with my beloved Oliver. It definitely felt more like a transaction than loving & caring of my dog. After several tests and 3 days of hospitalization stay, it was finally decided to do an ultrasound where it was discovered our little boy had severe internal organ issues. They could do no more for him. Even as I went to go discharge him and bring him home, the Dr. on staff asked me to perform another test on him. It was only another $100. The last Dr. on staff was terrible, I asked him for opinion of health of Oliver but his only comment was he was an ER Dr and I needed to see a specialist. He drew a parallel like if I went to see my Family Dr. for an arm break, my family Dr would refer me elsewhere. I thought it was heartless and terrible. I just wanted a medical opinion. I had no direction from the staff here other than book another appointment. They handed Oliver back to me and off I was out the door with not another word. He smelled so bad from lack of bathing. Our boy Oliver passed away last night. I am disappointed to have gone here. Please consider other options when looking for care with your loved ones. It breaks my heart to think he spent last few days in this terrible place, smelling bad and not around people who truly love him.
Amazing!
Staff was great, they were very kind at the time we had to say good bye to our cat. If Iwe lived closer I would bring my pets there.
They are amazing!! So friendly and great with the animals!! Very informative as well
We had an excellent experience with our dog here
If I could give them less than 1 star I would! Absolutely despicable behavior....heartless money-grabbers that prey on people's love of their pet. I was completely flabbergasted! My mother took her dog in after not being able to get in to see her regular vet. Her dog was having trouble breathing. They first said that they would need to keep Toby overnight (Thurs to Fri) and most likely until Monday since there was no cardiologist on staff until then. My mother said no. They then said "well, he will die tonight if he goes home with you". My mother insisted she would be taking her dog home. Magically, the cardiologist appeared and then proceeded to say he would have to go home with 4 different types of medication and would have to see the family vet in a week and come back to see her in 1 mth's time. SERIOUSLY!???? So, now, he's apparently going to make it through the night with these magical pills. You people give real veterinarians that genuinely care for animals and their owners a VERY BAD NAME....SHAME ON YOU!!!
Professional care , nice , friendly saff , keep you updated with info about pet, took great care of our dog chester with his broken leg,
We brought our 6 month-old kitten into the hospital last Friday. She was extremely ill after having been spayed (at an unassociated clinic). Dr. Hahn was her primary caregiver and was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. He kept us abreast of updates in a timely fashion and we felt that she received the very best care that should could have. Unfortunately, the outcome was not what we had wanted. We would also like to thank Leanne who was our first contact at the hospital for her patience and kindness. We would highly recommend this hospital for their knowledge, care and compassion.
Wait was a bit long. But worth it.
Extremely negative experience. Incorrect diagnosis. Incorrect prognosis. Very expensive mistake bringing my pet there. Male vet or tech with an aussie accent - condescending, pushy, greedy. I do not recommend this place at all. Stay away.
We are in the process of getting our sweet, “Jack” cared for here. We took Jack there urgently on a Friday. Although a long wait to receive tests, the staff and doctors, were and have been stellar, highly informative, attentive to your needs, and most compassionate. We will continue our needed treatment there, most certainly. Thank you for your comfort. ❤️????????????
Positive ending. Unfortunately had to visit Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Hospital last night with my miniature dachshund that ingested a sharp piece of a chicken bone. We were referred here by our home vet in King City after confirmation with an X-ray that the bone was indeed in his stomach and she could not help us. Upon arrival to this clinic, it was indeed a slow start to the emergency care beginning, as others have stated in previous reviews. I’m unsure if this was due to the fact they could not locate the email our home vet sent including the x-rays just taken prior to our trip to this clinic. I’ll be honest it was a little unsettling, it was pretty scary waiting in the car with the dog waiting for a call back with approval to get medical help, but I can happily say that was the only negative to our visit last night. My dog had the procedure he needed (removal of a foreign body endoscopically) and we were able to bring him home after about 4 hours start to finish. One very positive aspect was that the Dr actually phoned my husband throughout, and I believe was compassionate to the fact that we could not leave our vehicles and had to trust a clinic we had never been to before. She was kind and explained from A to Z and didn’t rush us off the phone with our list of follow up questions. Her name was Dr. Katherine Malik. Thank you. I hope to never have to visit this clinic again, but I am thankful to the staff of last night and the positive ending to OUR story. It was scary to see all the negative reviews, I’ll admit I read them as I sat in the parking lot. I feel so badly for all the families that may have had their fur family negatively treated so I don’t want to diminish any negative reviews, but I had to write about my positive experience that allowed me to bring my dog home. I understand many situations are different so I am hoping my review can assure someone in the same shoes that our encounter was positive and there is hope. With regards to the cost, it was undoubtedly and expectedly expensive, thank goodness for our pet insurance or I’m not sure where we’d be.
Very friendly people, very caring. Horrible wait times, and far longer than what they tell you. Told us our dog was ready, then we had to wait an hour to get our dog!
I took my dog here on Christmas Eve, she had gotten spayed at out regular vet on Monday and I noticed the incision getting infected( she was rolling in the dirt). First off thetr exam fee is ridiculous, 200$ for a them to visual look her her stomach. When they finally brought her in the clinic I waited for an hour before I called them to get and update, they told me two new emergency cases came in( they lied, I was in the parking lot and saw no one come in). Another 30 mins later the vet finally called, told me she needs a round of antibiotics ( I already knew that and already told them that's what she needs), also tried to force me to get a culture and another round of antibiotics after the culture comes in. All this would have been 600$, I told him I only want the antibiotics and he tried to guilt me into getting the culture. I told him no again, waited another 30 before they called me so I could pay for the service, I assumed my dog would be out soon after. Waited another 30 after that for her to finnsky be brought out. In my hours of waited I even noticed multiple employees standing around doing nothing, I know it was a holiday but people are waited in there freezing cars for their pets to be treated. I don't understand how an emergency clinic could run this way, my dog was kept in a kennel for hours for absolutely no reason, that alone caused her alot of stress, the vet didn't even sound like he looked at her as he wanted me to describe what the infection looked like even though she should have been there with him. Extremely angry and disappointed.
Amazing specialists! I travel 2 hours just so I can see the specialists at this hospital. Dr. Beth Hanselman and Dr. Sandra Minors are incredible. They are knowledgeable and compassionate. I wouldn't have trusted my dogs to anyone else.
Our little guy went through a house fire and we are from London. Mississauga/Oakville squeezed us in for an emergency appointment. Our dog stayed there for a few days, we called numerous times to check up on our little guy and they never made us feel bad about calling all hours of the night. They took extremely good care of our boy, they sent emails and pics all throughout the night to give us updates. They all seemed very genuine and we feel like they truly cared about our little guy. Thank you to everyone there for helping Chappie get through this hard time. You guys are amazing!
Went here at an absolutely terrible, terrifying time with a pet emergency but they handled things very professionally and were honest and straightforward about the treatment options and advised me to wait and watch for further symptoms before spending money on further diagnostic testing which thankfully turned out to be unnecessary. No offense, I'd rather not ever have to come back here but if I do I know my dogs will be in good hands.
Dedicated, professional and efficient staff - can't say how grateful I am for saving my dogs life.
Excellent staff, and facility looks very well kept
Wish I could give less stars. My dog lost a nail and was bleeding profusely, so, we took him here for Emergency. Sincerely, it was a terrible experience. We were crying thinking that the Dog was going to bleed out and then made to feel worse by the Secretary that chastised me for not remembering the "brand of Dog food" we feed him. Further, they completely took advantage of my dad and I. On the form it will say 185$ for emergency which is fair, but then, they added 200$ for "bandages, tape, and a cone" which is crazy! Sincerely, all they did was put the coagulation powder on his nail, cleaned it up and wrapped it in bandages. They then hold the dog hostage until the transaction is complete. Although I'm sure they've had people run out while they're trying to rinse them for every penny possible - My poor dog was dying to see us, and he was being restrained like he was in prison. After speaking with our vet this morning He told us how that they screwed us for the money and took advantage of us being worried about our dog and not having anywhere else to go at 2 am. Sincerely, I hope someone reads this before going and instead goes to Clarkson 24hour emergency hospital in an event of an emergency with their pet. its 10 min away and your pet isn't used as emotional leverage for the financial gain of a bunch of greedy people. The rest of these reviews telling you not to go couldn't be more right. I'm glad my sweet dog is doing better, but, at the end of the day a health care provider that cares more about the Animals and less about their bottom line is going to give you better care. Don't be fooled about the nice exterior and the no doubly kind demeanour that they'll present to you if you come on a regular day- because, when you need them, when it matters, they wont care.
About a year ago our Greyhound fractured her scapula running head-first into a post in the backyard. Our vet referred us to Mississauga Oakville Emergency Veterinary Hospital with a surgery estimate of $8,000. Thankfully we requested another referral and received an estimate for the same surgery at Ontario Veterinary Clinic in Guelph for $3500. We chose to go with OVC because of their cost estimate and because their google reviews were much better than Mississauga Oakville. I'm so glad we did because our girl received top-notch care at OVC and it was less than half the price. I'm writing this review because it pains me to see so many other people being robbed when they're just trying to take the best possible care of their beloved pets. Do yourself a favour and go with OVC - not only will your pet receive excellent care but you will also save yourself the thousands of dollars this place overcharges for nothing.
Dr Richards (ophthalmology) and her team have done a great job helping me care for my aging dog. They healed a corneal ulcer and provide ongoing care for his glaucoma. They are always compassionate and kind and take the time to explain the course of treatment. I find the prices in-line with other vets unless the appointment is an emergency or last minute, then extra fees are charged which gets expensive.
Excellent care for your pet. Wonderful staff.
My local vet referred me to this this clinic because our dog needed knee surgery. We had a very positive experience from the consultation to the surgery to the physio afterwards. First of all, when I called to book him in they had him there within a few days which I thought was very fast and was happy about that. The surgeon called with an update after he was done and explained everything to us. Every single person we dealt with was empathetic, friendly and patient. They made us feel like our dog was their top concern. Unfortunately our dog has to go back for surgery on his other knee in a week or so but we have every confidence that we will get a positive result/experience again.
Excellent care was provided. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended.
Very professional and caring
Our Taz was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy we were heart broken and didn’t know what to do, until our vet referred us to Mississauga Oakville Emergency Animal Hospital. We met with Kristine for Physical Therapy and our lives were forever changed. Kristine met with Taz regularly and did water therapy , light therapy and more. The warmth and love you feel from everyone there is amazing. I would recommend Kristine and everyone there without hesitation.
Really caring staff and good service. My little angel was well cared for. In addition, the fact they're open 24h is the definition of peace of mind for any dog papa or dog momma. Thank you :)
You dont go to an emergancy vet unless you are in serious concern. They know that and charge a more and tou have. To pay upfront based on what they estimate it will cost. Funny that it seem to do services to exceed the amount quoted. I am not a vet and know my much loved pet needed care. Just hurts the pocket book. The staff is very fiendly and when you get to talk to the actual vet they are very helpful
Absolutely amazing vets/staff , My little boy Theo was treated with love, staff took pictures of Theo and sent it to us definitely made us more at ease seeing our little baby was being taken care of. Thank you to everyone at Mississauga oakville Animal emergency hospital.
The team here is amazing. Anyone I ever encounter or deal with has been nothing but amazing. They communicate well to explain what is going on and follow up. You can tell they all are great at what they do and truly care. If you ever need to see a specialist this is where to go. I deal with Dr.Rutland and can't say enough great things about her. She is caring and pays attention to detail without her my dog would not be doing as well as he is today.
Please do not bring your beloved pets here. We were referred to this place by another vet and our experience was horrible. The staff are loud and obnoxious. We walked in on a mourning family about to go in and euthanize their pet, and they were so rude and unprofessional -- laughing, making jokes, even gossiping about each other. Do not bring your pets here. They handed me my stressed kitty covered in blood and rubbing alcohol after taking a blood test and an ultrasound. She was shaking the whole ride home. We were told we would be getting the blood work results at 9 am the following day. We took the day off work, and had called them so many times. We only heard back at 7 PM to be told our kitten probably has FIP (you'd think this was important news). We are so glad we didn't leave her there overnight. Our kitten didn't make it, and we are not pinning the blame on anybody -- FIP is just not curable. I just wish we had been treated with respect and compassion, not just as a cash dispenser.
Worst experience of my life.i took my 10 year old Rottweiler there that could not walk his front legs were limp never once did they tell me that the dog should be put to sleep they took $3,000 of my money telling me that a CAT scan would tell them the extent of the operation that needed to be done... they also told me that they're confident that an operation would solve the problem he would be walking again.. after the cats can a different doctor called me and told me that my dog did not do well under the under the anaesthesia.. at which point they recommended an MRI which was another $1,500 never suggesting once that the dog should be put to sleep.. when I got there to see my dog he was already half dead I made the suggestion to put him to sleep.. at which point in time they agreed.. so they were prepared to take another $2,000 from me before telling me that euthanasia was a better option. People please take your dog to any other Hospital stay away from this one all they want is your money.... I cry everyday for the loss of my dog and I'm still so upset for what they did to me...
The staff were amazing! Thank you for saving our pet's life from a coyote attack. Forever grateful for your attention and caring.
I brought my dog here to see the oncology department. Dr. Gauthier is an honest and caring doctor. She was efficient and communicated with us promptly and sympathetically. She was honest about my dog's condition and what options were best for his care. Animal care was the first priority. Everyone we dealt with was professional and kind. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I would not hesitate to bring a pet here at all.
Great experience with treatment/care which is worth a 5 to me. Long wait times is the one downfall which we didn't experience at other emerge clinics, but it is an emerge hospital and things happen. I just wish they let you go home vs sit there for 8hrs. Just made for a very long uncomfortable day only to find out we would leave her there overnight. But overall I was please with the excellent treatment, care and communication.
Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Very good and thorough service. It can add up quickly.
An emergency clinic without vets on call....sadly they gave 6+hour wait times, despite an escalating situation, did not make any accomdation or treat the animal with compassion. We went to another vet where our dog was seen immediately, and treated within an hour...I definitely don't recommend this place
Great experience here. Covid procedures in place. Staff was friendly and helpful. Explained everything, and surprisingly less expensive than I expected.
They provided me with information over the phone so I didn't have to bring my pups in for nothing. I'm very greatful.
I am so disappointed it . The first time we went there our pet had a lump in her belly, We waited for hours, we couldn’t be with our pet ( I m not sure if they put them in the gates or where?? ) finally , the vet took us to the consultation room without her The Following Monday , we took to her to the family vet who suggested a blood test , I got antibiotics: her lumps almost disappeared ; however , somehow she got an infection ,she started to breath funny , got very sick We took her back to her vet , who sent us to the Hospital ( again ) she was in the “ emergency room “, for Over 4 hours , finally the vet came, told us "She was stable" however , Not oxygen was suggested nor given to her while she was in the “waiting room “ mystery room to us!. They performed some test , some x rays got some other antibiotics . We paid the bill and got her back , she came home with the same problem if not worst . We still don't know what she had ,she was in distress , we were devastated it , and all we had done was pay and pay and pay bills . Our baby girl died. We are heart broken to say the least. I wish I never took her to the hospital. I wish she had a Vet that care for her and not just about our money
I went with my dog there and although they were notifying my dog was getting better, when I picked her up she hardly can walk and eat and after a week in the hospital and 8K bill I have to put her to sleep because nothing else could be done. She got a severed vagina infectiion there and other complications. No recommend this place
Great highly skilled clinic to provide emergency and all regular pet care needs. We return because of the quality of care we have received for our dogs. Sometimes there is a wait for emergencies but this is openly communicated, as required. Best emergency clinic!
The entire staff - doctor, technicians, receptionists - are extremely nice, caring and accommodating. Very helpful and compassionate.
The dermatologist put my mind at ease about my itchy cat
Brought my dog in last night, who wasn’t well. They seen him pretty quickly, and we’re super friendly and informative. Provider options for treatment. Really appreciated how great they were in stressful times.
I recently had to rush my cat to the hospital due an bladder obstruction. The team at the hospital accessed his issue and had a course of action in under 15 mins. And this was while they had a waiting time of several hours. They kept me informed of his status and texted me photos of him. Every day I received a call from the Doc updating me and addressing my concerns. Best care anywhere!
We were transferred to this hospital for a blood transfusion for our dog Leah, who honestly was not doing so well. There was amazing communication within this hospital because they took Leah in right away into ICU. They prioritized her care and came up with a treatment plan right away. All the staff here were knowledgeable, open, caring and empathetic. Our Leah spent three nights and four days in this hospital. My family and I would like to thank Leah’s amazing donor for saving her life as well as a special thank you to Dr. Ghosal, Dr. Chandler, Lisa (our overnight angel) the front desk staff and last but certainly not least the amazing Carly (our day angel) . Very excited to say that Leah is doing amazing due to the great care from this hospital. Thank you so much for everyone in this facility. You guys are miracle workers. Words cannot express how grateful we are to you all. Thank you ????
Beware of this facility: Worst experience ever, my son took his bull terrier Sugar to this clinic. The dog swallowed a piece of a chewy toy and got dislodged into her upper intestinal tract. The verdict was surgery the cost was $5600.00. We asked can we set up a payment plan, was refused we had 3 options: 1. pay the full fee, 2. Euthanasia and 3. Surrender the dog to the Humane Society surgery will be for free and the dog goes up for adoption. In the meantime I found out that the cost of the surgery by this fascility is grossly overprized -- this particular surgery is not that complicated its like a C-Section the cost suppose to be around $600 to $800.00, the veterinarians I spoke to never heard of such insane cost, nor the suggestion of surrendering a family pet and all of them agreed they would work with the owners in any way and form with a payment plan. I did made a complaint to the Veterinary College of Ontario and I am also prepared to get the Media and the legal actions involved. My son felt he had no choice to surrender their family pet in order for her continue to live. We are fighting to get her back what ever it means. This facility did us wrong, were is the care for our four legged friends, just all about the mighty Dollar and their Ego.
The people here are amazing. We have two older Boston Terriers who have unfortunately had to make a few visits here over the past couple of years. Each time we felt they received superior care and treatment. Doctors and staff alike clearly love animals and show great empathy and affection for them.
Negative experience overall with Mississauga Oakville Vet. Granted they do provide an essential service at times of emergency, I would only recommend them at critical situation (life of your pet should come before anything else) Our dog was transferred towards their neurology department. We were charged an incremental $400 fee. The sales pitch was to equip the best at your corner from the get go. Upon a couple of check ins, I was told I could transfer my visits to my home vet. Red flag, as I thought the one time fee was to ensure we had the neurologist by our side throughout. Though it was optional, the perceived takeaway was such that they do not care for or have time for our dog with basic check ins (I also question the value of the neurologist altogether, but that’s a separate wormhole) Couple months in, they refused further medication knowing potential of adverse effect with immediate stoppage. The inconsistency and lack of care in the overall process is unacceptable. I write this to only pray the process improves for other pets - this is very frustrating and we will never go back.
As a dog owner I must say they are not just an animal they are family and bring some much love to your life I can’t even put into words! My little guy is my fur baby ! Can I just say the staff and vet I dealt with was incredibly nice and kind hearted as having a sick pup , I was so upset and frantic , they really went above and beyond to comfort me and were incredible . Thank you so much guys !
Very nice staff. Helped us deal with a great loss.
The staff were very caring and took great care of my cat.
