Dr. Bigger has been our family vet for awhile now and he has been absolutely wonderful! Both of our boys love seeing him. Additionally, the staff in the office is wonderful to work with. I’m sure it isn’t easy for anyone working at CV to deal with distressed owners on a daily basis - especially in a prolonged pandemic - but they have never failed us. I am so happy we found this wonderful and compassionately run clinic for our boys. Over the years, we have always been treated with kindness and respect by all the members of this outstanding team! we brought our dog to this hospital and was charged 136 for exam and pills(vanectyl P and apo cephalexin). my dog has been vomiting for two days within 2 hours after taking the medicine as well as not willing to move. her ear didn't get any better, and became worse because of the medicine (red, swollen and seriously infectious). they also sold us the cone which was broken right on the second day. we called and went back. they charged us another 60 and refuse to refund the pills they sold us.(even it's their diagnose mistake, we paid to get our dog's condition worse!!!!!!!) and they said we need to go back if our dog can't get better and pay for the other medicine. seriously?????????? i'm spending my time and paying hundres to get my dog in worse condition? am i stupid? suggestions....don't go to this hospital because they get your pets worse and charge you for that!!!!!

Brought my mini dachshund pup here for her spay with Dr Chris. Very disappointed as our pup had her incision open up 48 hours later and had to get very expensive emergency surgery at Fairfield. We never got to speak to the vet, were given the incorrect size cone, didn’t receive a receipt or follow up call, and they didn’t send our records over to our regular vet in a timely manner.

My dog like most animals, gets incredibly anxious, nervous, shaking uncontrollably. And fighting to leave. He was so calm and relaxed through out the whole visit. Even when the Dr himself was holding him. He's 12 and has had a fair share of vet visits. And I only wish I had brought him here from the start. I will never go anywhere else. Everyone was incredible there!

(Written on behalf of family member) Had a scheduled appointment with Central Valley Vet Hospital to get their new puppy's second round of vaccinations and the parking lot was completely full so they had to park down the road (causing them to be 5 minutes late). Once met at the door, being there 5 minutes after the scheduled time, was rejected at the door and asked to reschedule an appointment, when they had to find child care for their autistic child to come for their appointment. The only reason they were late was because of their parking lot having insufficient space. When met at the door the staff were very rude and completely disrespectful. Will not recommend this place nor be coming back in the future.

We had just moved to the Okanagan and needed a new veterinarian. Luckily Central Valley was the first place we went! The staff were super friendly and helpful with our cat Phoebe. The space is super clean and organized. They are highly professional and we will be going here from now on!

The staff here is very friendly and compassionate. We just got a new puppy recently and they welcomed him with open arms. They also gave us advice (first time pet for us) and literature to help us along the way. He had an umbilical hernia repaired and he got neutered at the same time. The following day the clinic followed up to see how the patient was doing, and he was doing extremely well. Dr. Rasmussen and staff have truly found their calling.

I came in to get flea medicine for my cats, and discovered they don't carry Advantage or any other flea medicines, except Revolution, which they won't dispense without an exam. I just moved.to the area recently. I'm surprised that any vet clinic wouldn't stock Advantage, Simparica or other medicines, very strange

Central Valley went above and beyond for my cat. They were able to get her in really quickly thankfully since she was throwing up so badly. They were honest and truthful and optimistic the entire time. Instead of jumping to surgery they offered the option of a radiologist to review the xrays and thankfully they did as she didn't need surgery. They also followed up with us a few days later to make sure she was okay and to let us know if she needed to come back to call right away. They made a very scary situation a lot easier.

This review is based on maintenance appointments for our dog and cat. Each of our pets has unique health concerns - and the vets at this clinic are very supportive and capable of meeting their needs. They provide us with excellent advice and show compassion and interest in our pets. At one point, we had decisions to make with regards to our cat - the vets provided us with all of the options, cost estimates, pros/cons, etc. We chose the cheapest route and did not feel any pressure to choose otherwise. In the end, the path we chose worked out - and we are grateful that we made the decision with complete information. The support staff are also very helpful and very well trained with a strong skill set.

We have taken several of our pets to this Veterinary Clinic. Some very ill, some puppies and some with chronic conditions and some who needed their vaccinations. We have found all the Vets to be knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Our pets have always been treated with care and attention. The clinic staff are great and it is obvious they truly like the jobs. We would recommend this clinic to any pet owner who is looking for quality health care for their furry family.

In the fall of 2020, we were referred by our primary vet, Dr. Cassandra Van Engelen of Anderson Vet Clinic Penticton, to Central Valley Veterinary Hospital because both our dog, Tuvok and our cat, Wesley Crusher both needed ultrasound diagnostics. What we were not told, by the team at Anderson or the team at Central Valley, is that their services are not provided by a board certified radiologist. This meant that, in Wesley Crusher’s case, we had to pay for an additional ultrasound performed by a certified radiologist to make sure we had accurate results. Imagine our shock when the cost of the board certified radiologist at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in the lower mainland was hundreds of dollars less than what we paid Central Valley for the services a non certified radiologist. Further, immediately (literally wishing 48 hours) upon having the ultrasound last fall, Wesley Crusher developed a horrible skin condition that had to be treated with steroids, and lived for a good 2-3 months in his litter box. We now know that he had FIP, the early stages of kidney disease, and a long term underlying bacterial infection. Nevertheless, it is difficult not to associate that ultrasound visit at Central Valley with the onset of an absolutely terrible time in Wesley’s life. It is worth noting that Wesley’s subsequent ultrasound in January at Canada West produced no ill after effects at all. Sadly, Tuvok crossed the rainbow bridge in March of this year, and Wesley in July. I would not have left this review if I had not received two emails from Central Valley this morning, wishing Tuvok and Wesley Crusher Happy Birthday. They were not your patients, you performed a diagnostic procedure on them both that you did not tell us you were not board certified to do, and overcharged us for the service. They should not have been added to your client management system, the sole purpose of which is to retain patients and generate revenue for your practice. I am not critiquing the fact that you have a client management system for your regular patients, just the fact that you added Tuvok and Wesley Crusher to it. Perhaps you can understand how difficult it was to open my email and see those two emails from your automated client / patient management system. No one wants to get a Happy Birthday message for one dead pet, let alone two; particularly after going through an extremely difficult period of time trying to treat a complex medical case. This is an opportunity for improvement for your practice. Disclose that you are not board certified when you offer radiology services - so that people know what they are purchasing. Conduct follow ups after you perform services to see if they had any ill effects on the pets that received them. Review your pricing to ensure it is fair. Update your client/patient management systems to ensure you don’t send Happy Birthday or any other reminder emails to dead pets, who were not on your active patient list in the first place.

After being a customer for over 12 years, I am appalled that my own vet did not even acknowledge me when I purchased dog food today. I was treated no different than a stranger making a purchase. ($80 dog food) I will no longer do business with them. My dog is 15 years old and has recently been diagnosed with dementia, after expensive testing. You can't tell me that my vet didn't recognize me. A simple nod would have been acceptable, but a caring vet would have at the very least asked how my dog was doing... Clearly, she doesn't care. I can take my business elsewhere.

We have been using Central Valley for years for veterinary needs for cats and our dog. We have always been met with helpful staff and a welcoming atmosphere in clinic and on the phone....until today. I called this morning because our dog has had direct contact with bordatella and has now been showing symptoms for 3 days. I called to inquire whether he needed a course of antibiotics. The person who answered my call did not listen to the presenting complaint and offered us an appointment in 3 weeks. I felt like I was talking to a recorded machine (I assure you I was not). When I expressed that the dog was sick TODAY she recommended I call Fairfield Animal Hospital if I wanted to be seen same day. I called for reassurance and advise, which we have always gotten from other staff at the clinic. Disappointed.

Very disappointed with this clinic! They are VERY expensive and try to unload their dog food (also very expensive) at the first opportunity. We also had to pay for a full dog examination just to get a kennel cough nasal spray..,even though the dog had just had a complete exam three months before. All the Vet did was take her temp and listen to her heart-took two minutes...and the receipt said "annual exam" which she had obviously already had. If there were something seriously wrong with her-I doubt he could have picked it up from this cursory exam. I am getting fed up with these vets charging outrageous prices and having to deal with snippy secretaries who can only respond with, "Office policy-oh well, oh well..." We have always had dogs and dealt with many, many vets. I know what is reasonable and what is not.
