10/10 recommend. I have a chatty husky mix who hates getting his nails cut. I’ve brought him here a few times to get his nails cut with ease but this last time he was having an off day and was not happy that his car ride destination was the vet. He absolutely refused to go inside, so I had told the staff that I would just like to cancel my appointment because there was no way I could get him in the building. The staff brought everything they would need outside and they cut them right in the parking lot. He was very squirmy and VERY chatty(husky screams) the entire time but they got every single nail cut. I was very embarrassed and a bit frustrated by the way he was acting but the staff was absolutely amazing and totally accommodating, they made this visit so much better. I am very impressed, THANK YOU!

I needed to find a place for my animals rather quickly. The ladies at the front were super helpful and kind about my worries about my dogs upon drop off. Not only did all my answers get provided quickly, I didn't worry at all that my animals would be take care of once I left. I brought in 3 small dogs and 1 cat to board for the day. 1 dog was groomed. The grooming was fantastic, my dog looks like a million bucks! My animals are high stress rescues and I feel like they were well cared for here. I will definitely use their service again! I adopted my cats from the Winnipeg Humane Society shortly after moving to Winnipeg, but wasn't sure where to take them for veterinary care because I was new to the city and didn't have many people to get referrals from. I live down near U of M so I went around to a few vet hospitals in the area to check prices and services and found that Centennial offered the most comprehensive pet care in the area and did it all with reasonable pricing. At our first appointment we met Dr Paetkau and loved her immediately. She's made us feel most welcome and appreciated as new clients. She took a nice amount of time to examine my cats and worked so patiently with their idiosyncrasies! She is clearly very knowledgeable and willing to share her knowledge by thoroughly explaining various treatment options in a way that is easy to understand. We have since become regular clients of Dr. Paetkau's and always look forward to seeing her (well, maybe me more than the kitties). Our visits always feel very personalized. The hospital is very clean and spacious, the hours are extensive, and the hospital runs in a timely and efficient manner (we never end up waiting in the waiting room). The office staff and vet techs are also very attentive, courteous, and helpful. I also appreciate the variety of services offered at the hospital. Beyond typical veterinary services, they offer laser surgery, boarding, grooming, day care, and free nutrition/weight management services. One of my cats is overweight and the nutritionist has been very helpful with advising us on appropriate interventions to prevent further weight gain. I have also boarded my cats here during the day while having work done on my house and was happy with the boarding service. Centennial is the BEST and I highly recommend them!

Got my furbaby shaved here a couple weeks ago and they did a pretty good job without sedation. Good price and was within my budget. It should be noted that there are 2 buildings at this location: 1 is the vet (in front) and 1 is for grooming (in the back). I bet the vet office at the front, gets a ton of first timers (like me) buzzing at their door regarding their grooming appt. So fyi if you have an appt here for grooming, remember to go to the back.

Animal hospital is great! I had a great first visit with my dog. The boarding was good my dog seemed to enjoy it and she even got a behavior report card. Make sure you confirm and reconfirm after dog is dropped off what you want ( kennel or run), as they dont ask you when you drop off.

He explained all the possible options and didn't push me for added services that he didn't think where necessary. So I had an appointment at 7:30am for spaying my friend’s cat today and they emailed him around 6:30 am with a form to sign and do not let me drop the cat off without the form. Like we booked that appointment a month ago and they told me nothing about the form. So they just assume that he will check his email around 6? Incredible! I had to wait in minus 18 for thirty minutes making calls. And my friend is in China and they knew it from the beginning. Worst service ever had!

Horrible grooming service, My dog has been with them twice in her lifetime and both times my dog came back with some sort of pain, My dog was a puppy when she first went their 2-3 month old puppy her first grooming session they cut her nail very short that they were bleeding and she was traumatized that she didn't let Us touch her paws and today Dec 2 2021 her second grooming session with these irresponsible groomers left her a bruise on her snouts, she is in pain and not letting us touch her snout today, So I called the place to talk to the manager and she is an absolutely careless person who blamed my dog itself for getting hurt by behaving not like a normal dog, whilst my pet has been to grooming sessions around Winnipeg all year without any incidents but the only 2 times i left my pet with these bad groomers my pet got hurt. The staff has no work ethic as to how to deal with pets or with customers. I am attaching a picture of her bruise today but unfortunately i do not have a picture of the first time they hurt my puppy, the Manager did blame the dog for both incidents,which was much worse because she was a 3 month old puppy in the first one.You do not want to leave your pets with them if you care about them because these people don't.

Just wanted to describe my experience at Centennial. I took my pet Gecko here last November to discuss shedding issues and more importantly because I had become concerned something was amiss or that he was quite ill. He had been lethargic for a few weeks and eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom less. This seemed to happen from time to time when preparing for a shed but this seemed different to me. Post appointment we discussed general care and cleaning tips, and I was instructed to attempt moist hides to aid in shedding. After the appointment he became progressively worse, developed white dots inside his mouth, and basically stopped eating and drinking. He died 13 days later overnight on Dec 10th-11th before I was able to bring him back in. I failed to recognize the urgency of the situation after the first appointment but I had just been told that he was fine and generally in good health. My own instincts told me something was wrong and I really believe the exotic pet specialist missed something here. My gecko was 5 years old and they have a 15-20 year life span in captivity. Based on my concerns and descriptions at the very least she could have educated/cautioned me on illnesses or what to watch for and when to act. This was a really upsetting experience for me. My email about the situation to the office received no reply. Based on the above I can’t give Centennial or Dr. Hickling a favourable review.

We had to put our beloved dog of 10 years down suddenly on a Sunday. Our regular vet was closed. Centennial took us in very quickly. We want to say thank you to everyone there who made a very tough morning a little easier. Kind, patient, and professional they took extrodinary care to make sure our dog felt no pain. Giving us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. All of personnel at Centenial, from the young man who took my phone call, to the technicians, to the vet herself were beyond amazing.

I got helped the next day after I called for an appointment. They were able to give my cat grooming service on the same day without having to schedule appointment. Because my cat had some issue with her skin and she needed to be shaved and washed. Very responsive. The vet clinic was recommended , the only reason that I took one star off is because of the high grooming price.

I had a gecko emergency and when I called in that morning the staff got me in between Dr. Hickling's surgeries! When I went in I did not feel rushed because of how busy she was and had a great manner with my little Brownie. She took the time to show me how to give my gecko his needle meds since I had never done it and she was sooo nice! I really liked her and did not make me feel like I was a bad lizard mommy just because Brownie had a booboo. Instead she was glad I got him in so fast instead of letting the situation get worse and then brining him in. Even the vet assistants were fantastic! Everyone was so nice. I also loved how cozy the inside was. When you walk in it is open and very clean! And everyone is smiling! I also liked the rooms were also cozy and clean! They had couches and cute pics on the walls (you know instead of the stark white uncozy rooms most vets opt for) I have/will tell everyone about my time here and tell everyone that they should (especially if you have any sort of exotic animal or pocket pet) to go there since it was a very positive environment! I brought my dog in the other day with a referral from St. Norbert Animal hospital to get x-rays done since their xray machine was down at the time. Before bringing my dog in, everything had been set up and the staff was aware of my situation and that I was coming down that evening. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the really nice reception staff that was working Monday night. She was great with my dog and with me. It wasn't until one of the doctors came out from the treatment area and started yelling at the reception staff about my current situation, in front of me, that my experience took a turn for the worse. He exclaimed that he was too busy to examine my emergent situation and that he didnt know what he had to with him at this point. So, I uncomfortably walked up to the counter and explained once more to the reception staff that this was just a referral for an xray, and that I was asked to have the xrays emailed over immediately as St. Norbert was waiting on them. I wasnt exactly pleased with the way the doctor treated the support staff and specially since it was about my situation with other clients in the waiting room. Unfortunately, I had to return for an additional xray the next day and again was met with an uncomfortable experience. The gentleman receptionist at the time was taking personal time behind the reception counter to respond to his text messages as I was filling out paperwork. I was trying to ask questions about the paperwork and was greeted with a long period of silence as he finished his text message before half heartedly answering my questions. I was also reminded on multiple occasions that certain things weren't normally done for people who were non clients which made me feel like my animals health was not important to them, because I was not a "regular client". Overall, this was my first experience with this clinic, and as a possible future client, I do not feel I will ever be returning based off my experience.

I dropped my dogs there for half of a month and when I picked up them. they said my dogs had kannel cough! I thousht it might because that was during Christmas, there were too many dogs. and one of them was ill, so my dogs were infected or they didn't take good care of them. Before i dropped them there, my dogs were healthy and vaccines were not expired. when they came home, the situation was getting worse, and one of them threw up two times in three days, the medicine doesn't work and the service is worthless, once i solve these problems, i will never ever choose this GREAT animal hospital any more.

Centennial is an excellent vet. My family used this vet when I was young and I have continued to do so with my own dogs. Dr. Hickling is very smart, calm, thorough, and has a gentle and kind personality. She’s very good to consult with as well when you’re trying to make decisions. She did several successful surgeries on my Bichon Frise. She helped me put two of my dogs to sleep who were elderly and unwell and made it painless and peaceful. She has been excellent with my new one year-old West Highland Terrier who was recently diagnosed with Addison’s Disease. Dawna, Lindsay, and the staff are also excellent in my experience. They have all been really kind to McKinley which I very much appreciate.

My cat had a soar on his neck and I took him there at the Centennial Animal Hospital. The vet gave me an antibiotic cream to apply on it as it's due to allergies perhaps "food", within a weeks time the soars were 95% heal. He should be 100 % cured soon ,so I higly recommend this hospital as I am quite pleased with the service, thank you kindly for taking care of my cat.

Sarge is extremely nervous and timid. I was scared to take him to any vet because I didn't know how he would respond. I knew I couldn't go in with him due to the pandemic. Well, the staff was soooooo accommodating. The tech that came to get him was very patient and very nice.. She took her time making sure Sarge was comfortable with her. The vet called to ask any questions she had, and to let me know that my little boy was doing well. I won't go anywhere else. I really love this Animal Hospital/clinic. Truly wonderful people who care about animals.

My dogs were excited to be in the dog day care when we were away and never had any issues with then not being taken out for exercise etc. Used grooming services one. Friendly staff. Hospital staff helpful, clean facilities, electronic access for pet histories. Good selection of veterinarian s so you can find one that partners well with you and your pet.

Teenaged daughter brought her hamster in to be euthanized. No one else in the city would do that for us either because it was “just a hamster” or due to COVID and not taking on new patients. Centennial squeezed us in that morning, working around our schedule so that my daughter could be present. The Vet let her be as involved as she wanted to and supported her throughout the process since I couldn’t be there with her. I was very impressed with the level of compassion shown.

Two times now Dr. Hickling has helped us in getting our Conure Pineapple back from what I was sure was near death, Dr. Hickling is patient, knowledgeable, understanding and always takes her time with us. We have been using this Animal Hospital for about 30 years for a dog that we had and then a number of cats. We had 2 cats for many years. My dog, Leo got annual exam few days ago. The doctor was very nice! He discovered disease in ear of my puppy and prescribed medicine :) He showed me how to deal with puppy's ear. Brought one of my feral cats in that was sick.. they took him immediately as others refused.. because i have so many .they were attentive to the costs. After just one day, the cat was eating and playing. Ill be bringing more stray cats in if needed here.

Vet service is amazing! We love Dr. Hickling and she is very knowledgeable. We choose this vet for our bunny because they're held in high regards for bunny care. BUT!! This 1 star is for the boarding center specifically. They may be good with dogs and cats, but they shouldn't have made it sound like they're experienced with bunnies, or particularly special needs bunnies. We left our happy, active handicap bunny (spine injury) there for a week while we were out of town and basically, whatever "care" he received there took about a year and a half of physical rehab away and left him in a poorly lethargic mental state. He was able to stand on all 4 legs before we left him there. His hind legs were back to near-useless (one was back to zero response), he was extremely lethargic, his eyes looked like he was doped up (i don't think he was but that was his appearance), and he wasn't pooping or eating. Hubby took him to the vet the next morning to make sure he wasn't about to die (bunnies health states are fragile and we didn't know how long he had been in that declined state) so we had a lovely and unexpected vet bill and special diet food to pay for. His mental state has recovered but his legs still have a ways to go before they're back to the way they were before we dropped him off. The boarding staff assumed zero responsibility for the severe decline of our bunny's health. NEVER, EVER leaving our dear bunny with the boarding staff again!! Pics are of after about a week of critical care syringe feeding and he was finally pooping again. Legs still need rehab. Edit after response: The boarding facility did not contact me regarding the issue. I contacted them first by email to which i received no reply so i called them a few days after the email. By the end of my last phone call when it was clear they weren't going to do anything, i said i was going to be posting reviews about this and the lady on the phone threatened to charge me with slander if i posted my reviews. It's not slander if it's true.

I went to the clinic yesterday to get my dogs ears checked since I knew that she had an ear infection. They gave me the bill and it was $322 to give her 2 medications and spend 8 minutes with her. I did not have $322 for a ear infection appointment plus they wanted me to come back in 3-5 days to prescribe her with the correct medication once they got the lab results back. I told them that my regular vet would charge me $60 for this so I would understand a $100 bill, but not $322. The other patrons in the lobby completely agreed with me. I negotiated the bill to $180. Will not ever return to a place that takes advantage of people like this.

The reason why i give 4 stars is the front desk. The doctors are REALLY NICE there. she treats my dog very nicely and responses my concerns when she has time. But some receptionists (not ALL) are really not helpful!!! Lu and most of the front desk stuff are GREAT! I am talking about 2 girls there. ( DO NOT want to mention their names ) It feels like she is the owner of the hospital or something. well, i think even the owner in this hospital is nicer than her. ONE thing the front desk has remember is that you represent this hospital, BE NICE to the people who call and try to help them as much as you can. DO NOT act like you are the boss of the client.

I had very sick pupper on my hands, and even though this isn't my regular veterinarian, it's is the only one open on a Sunday, so I had to go. The care and attention we received was second to none! We only did grooming for our cat here and they did a super job. Our cat is a longhair and had a few pretty bad mats but we didn't want to get him a lion haircut. So at Centennial Animal Hospital they were able to keep most of his coat on and get rid of all mats. They did only gentle haircut as I asked that turned out really amazing. The cat wasn't stressed and seems to feel good about his new look. Don't know what shampoo they use there for bathing but nice smell stayed for a few days! Great experience, definitely will come back again.

On November 30 my family and I had to make one of the hardest decisions a pet owner could have to make. Our beloved Lab Sheppard cross Patrick was ready to give up his fight with cancer. As a family we brought him to Centennial Animal Hospital to lay him to rest. The staff that was on that day showed tremendous compassion and made us feel at ease with our decision. We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Pat Hunt who confirmed we were making the best decision for Patrick, which made saying goodbye easier knowing we had done all we could. This experience was made easier because of the people who were there that night, were it not for you our family would have had an even tougher time that night. My dog was groomed here.???? They did a fabulous job!! Will definitely be coming back. No complaints from groomer about my dogs behavior. I was told by Pet Smart that she was difficult and they needed 2 handlers ???? (which they tried to charge me extra for) and that she tried to bite.???? I was flabbergasted by what Pet Smart told me. My dog is the most gentle and loving pet I have ever had.???????? ????????Took my other dog who is grumpy to get nails clipped and they did a great job. Thanks????

Was told a price for vaccine included 2nd dose, but when I went for the 2nd dose I was charged again for it. ???? if the vet had made a mistake in the pricing, I think they should have honored it. Update: They called me back and offered me a refund for the 2nd vaccination. Thank you.
