When I took her in for the pre surgical exam (the morning before surgery) they didn't really look at her or weigh her. Just like looked in her eyes and ears and that's all. I mentioned that she has been obsessed with licking and I think biting under her neck and I wasn't sure why and the vet just said she would look when my bunny was asleep. The surgery went well, when I came to get her they didn't say anything to me about her neck so I assumed it was all good. I also didn't get any pain killers for her. Now at the time I didn't realise she needed them. I did a lot of research and I knew boy bunnies didn't need medicine cause the surgery was so small. I figured my bunny would be okay with out them too even though it was a bigger surgery. I moved to London and got another bunny. I took hin to be neutered at Clarke animal hospital. They were fantastic. When they did the pre surgical exam (week ahead) they checked everything and talked to me about everything. Felt great. Affordable prices too. When he was does surgery they have me pain meds which is when I realised if he's getting them for a smaller surgery I feel bad for my little bun that didn't get pain meds for a bigger surgery. Buck animal hospital prices weren't extreme but they definitly were more than the clarke animal hospital. By bunnies neck ended up getting a lot worse and she has to wear a shirt now she she doesn't bite it until it's healed. Buck could definitly care more about bunnies. I feel like they didn't really care if she was okay. Just wanted to spay her so they could get paid. She healed well and is okay now.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for over 6 months now! Adopted my first kitten in July last year and the service from Buck Animal Hospital has basically been the greatest service I’ve ever had from any business. Everyone from reception through to technicians and veterinarians is so personable, kind, and knowledgable. They check up on how Ralph is doing after his visits, never make us feel silly for asking new pet-owner questions, and did I mention they’re great with our cat too? Would heavily recommend to anyone in need of a vet.

I had been to a couple animal hospitals before I finally found Buck! I was told by my previous vet that my dog would need a surgery that would cost me $3000 and another additional $1500 for some tests. I was stunned so I went for a second opinion and was recommend Buck Animal Hospital. I love it at Buck! The staff are super friendly and very on top of things. Dr. Jessica Yenssen is extremely professional and honest, my dog doesn't need a crazy surgery which was excellent news! If you want top notch everything go to Buck!

I was recommended to Buck by my previous vet in Cambridge and couldn't have been happier with my experience. I don't usually write reviews, but all of the staff at Buck Animal Hospital absolutely blew me away with their kindness and care for my Mila. She is a very anxious little girl, and I was concerned that her first vet visit would be very stressful for both of us, but the wonderful staff made it easy. The girls at reception were so concerned for the well being of Mila, they notified me when animals would be coming into the waiting room that may unsettle her, and even allowed us to go in a private room early to avoid additional stress on her. I thought I was just being dramatic by explaining literally every detail of her medical history and previous experience, but the staff was so patient with me and took all of my questions with concern. Really helped calm my nerves - and Mila's! Dr. Sommers was everything I could have hoped for when visiting a new vet. She answered every question I had with care and patience - even the somewhat simple ones, and was so gentle with Mila. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and gave me lots of great, thoughtful tips. It was so evident upon meeting her that she has the best interest of these animals at heart and it is rare to meet someone where you can just sense their overwhelming passion for their job. I will definitely be bringing all future pets to Buck and be recommending them to prospective patients. These people truly care about the animals they help. Thank you Buck staff! You have gained a new patient.

Always give excellent service to your dogs. However, it's a little expensive. I had to do some of the tests, which aren't mandatory but suggested by the vet, so I did because you love your dogs, but when they gave me the bill, it was around 700$. They didn't mention it would be this expensive also they didn't call me back to tell me the result.

They're always happy to answer questions even if it's just a phone call to calm nerves and don't make us schedule appointments unnecessarily. Very professional and attentive staff. They are expensive but I always knew we were getting the best service. We have worked with several of the vets there and they are all very knowledgeable and some are more personable than others, but they still treat your animals well. I would recommend them. I also never felt pressured to buy things that weren't needed. Even got personal emails to check in on our dog to see how she was doing.

I love this vet - we picked them because they’re the closest place to where we live, but I couldn’t be happier. There’s a couple cats that live in the clinic and sleep on the reception desk - I love giving them scritches when I visit. My previous vet was much more expensive. They did all of the yearly tests, including ones that are “only” for outside cats despite mine living in an apartment and never going outside. It’s nice to be cautious but it’s also nice to save a couple hundred per visit on tests for ailments my cats aren’t at risk for. My cat had a UTI last year and was peeing blood. I was having trouble getting a urine sample from her at home. They were happy to take her for a day while I was at work to help me out free of charge and I’m so, so grateful for it. I love Buck! They’re wonderful. We got lucky living so close to them.

My grandmother was bringing her cat, Benny, since they opened in the early 90’s because she received the best care for Benny that she could find. Once my family moved to Kitchener and brought our cats, we found Buck Animal Hospital to be the place they go when something needs to be taken care of if they weren’t feeling well. Buck animal hospital was able to give us a comfortable goodbye to one of our cats on very short notice and made accommodations for us. They are truly kind people that work there.

My dog had a bone stuck in his throat and was choking to death and i drove my dog to them in a panic not knowing what to do at the time... my dog was literally dying before my eyes and they wouldnt help. They sent us to another vet clinic which meant my dog who was choking was left choking even longer so that we cud get him to the other vet which was at least another 10min drive away and he was bleeding from the bone cutting his throat at this point.. and to top it off they argued and tried saying my dog had kennel cough when it was indefinitly a bone that he swallowed funny. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. They are very stuck up and they didnt help at all. Isnt that a vets job to save animals. And the receptionist i spoke with was very ignorant and stuck up. And like i said in the middle of this time sensitive emergency between life and death for my dog they sat and argued with me and my mom telling us it was kennel cough not infact a bone that he got lodged sideways in his throat. When infact my mother watched him swallow the bone.

Went to Buck years before and after they moved locations. I had a cat that had respiratory issues and was advised by buck to keep her on a long term steroid pill and injection to keep her reactions at bay. Fast forward two years and the cats immune system begins failing. Soon after her skin began thinning and the suggestion from Buck? Continue the steroids. My cat ended up with a lot more than a respiratory issue, her skin was paper thin and would no longer heal due to the amount of steroid in her system, she would bleed like a stuck pig if anything cut her already failing skin. All side affects of long term steroid use. We received this suggestion for the issue from multiple long term vets that work at Buck. Aside from the horrible way that my cat died, Buck also charges an outrageous amount of money per appointment for how much of a lack of knowledge they actually have. Some of the vets they employ are cold people and the fact that you are not appointed one specific veterinarian that handles your case, if you happen to have a complex one, is a joke. Instead, you are passed around and you have to explain your whole file time and time again to whatever random vet or tech that happens to get you and dish out a $90 examination fee minimum for sub par care and service. I regret not changing vets sooner.

Buck Animal Hospital diagnosed my dog with having crystals in her urine. They wanted me to switch my dog to their prescription dog food Royal Canin Urinary So. However, I found out that this dog food had corn as a main ingredient (corn is bad for dogs). The stuff wouldn't give me any alternatives to treat my dog, and when I returned the dog food, they scared me by saying that if I don't put my dog on this food, she might develop stones which would be $1000 surgery to remove. Also, they refused to monitor my dog's urinary health because she was not on the prescription food. I did some research myself, and started filling my dog's bowl of food with water, so that she would drink bowls of water everyday. Now it's been a month, I took her to another vet today for an exam, and her urine is now free of crystals!

I believe that they milk the mistakes they make, I took my one kitten for ear mites. They didn't see any. Later come back with both my cats with mites yet I have to pay for their mistakes. Never going back in, they have a messed up business model. Don't go please!

We have a very excitable lab which causes me some stress when taking her to the vet. We brought her to Buck Animal Hospital today for the first time and could not have been more pleased! They are open on Saturdays for one, they allowed us to take her straight into the exam room and the very lovely vet was right there, no waiting around. She handled our dog with a calm confidence and didn't seem the least bit flustered or irritated. This immediately set me and my pup at ease. Straight forward, no pushy sales pitch, and the visit was done quickly without feeling rushed. So grateful!

I cannot say enough about the genuine compassion the staff here showed me and my very special companion Jacob who became sick over a year ago. We worked together to keep him with the best quality of life; no matter when I called time was always given for Jacob about questions and when I said I need to bring him in the answer was yes. Sadly yesterday Jacob had his final visit and again the compassion shown to us at this terrible sad time was overwhelming and appreciated. The choice to say good bye too one of my dearest companions was not easy; without the care from Buck's Animal Hospital Jacob would not of survived those extra months I will cherish. It took me a while to write this review because I wanted to be completely fair. At the end of the day I give two stars because I believe the vets here do not do their proper due diligence and do not provide the care that pets require. I had my dog under the care of the vets here for all of her life (12 years). Once she got older we took her for regular visits, especially when I noticed lumps. I always asked the vet to examine and explain what these lumps could be and asked her to pay extra close attention to her stomach. I was constantly reassured for YEARS that it was nothing, but sadly this is exactly what took her life. I took my dog to another doctor who confirmed early treatment could have saved her life but because I trusted these vets my poor dog did not get the care she needed. These vets are only here for the money, they do not care or do their proper due diligence. I will never recommend this place or take my own pets back here. I have waited months after my pets passing to write a review to ensure that I was fair and now that I have gotten another pet I feel it is time to be truthful about the practices at this vet clinic.

The staff at Buck Animal Hospital have been so helpful. When my cat became suddenly sick, they were able to find time to see her on a Friday night. (The clinic was entirely closed by the time the vet was finished examining her.) And both in person and on the phone, I never felt like the vet was rushing me. She discussed all my options and helped me make an informed decision about my cat's care. I am very thankful their patience and care.
