We've got the feddbacks of people who used the services of Abbotsford Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in Churchill (Canada).
To this day this firm receives a score of 4.3 stars out of 5 and this score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite high, and it's based on a very high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their review when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
As you can see, I'm VERY thankful for all your help in saving my cat's eye. I totally agree that you did absolutely amazing job with his eye. It was a miracle. But, in the case of my last appointment, I did feel that there is no need for a repeat blood test in such short time, unless the 1st test wasn't done correctly! Also, you attacking me through your reply saying that I forgot about the eye miracle doesn't help! VERY DISAPPOINTING ________________________________________________________________________ Response from the owner2 hours ago It is letters such as this that make what I do at times less rewarding then it should be. I am shocked how quickly you forget all that I have done over the year to help you and your cat. The numerous accommodations and discounts that I made to help you, that ultimately resulted in us saving his eye. Now you have the nerve to suggest I am only in this for the money. It is true that in February I diagnosed him with failing kidneys. However, he subsequently developed a new extremely abnormal behavior. This new behavior constituted a dramatic change in your cat. It was bad enough that you came back to me. I did not refuse to see your cat. I refused to prescribe a sedative without seeing him and repeating his blood work. Not because the original blood work might be wrong. Rather because his behavior had changed so drastically I was concerned it had gotten worse. You then refused my recommendation for an exam and to allow me to perform follow up blood work. All you wanted was a sedative. As the course of action you were suggesting could be dangerous I refused. I hope you and your cat are well. Jory Bocknek _______________________________________________________________________ I've been using this clinic for just over a year. And yes, Dr. Bocknek saved my cats eye after the other vets mistake. But now my cat is 14 years old. He had a blood test done just over a months ago including for the kidneys (over $300). I took my cat to see Dr. Bocknek yesterday and was told that I would need to pay for another blood test for the kidneys before he would give any meds. When I refused, Dr would not even see my cat. I was very disappointed in the treatment I've received. Today I will be calling another clinic. I WOULD NOT recommend this clinic to anybody since all they care is MONEY. There was absolutely no reason for another blood test in such short time, unless there was a mistake with the original test. But then I shouldn't be responsible for the cost. ________________________________________________________________________
I've been taking my pets to Abbotsford Animal Hospital for years. Even after moving north of Aurora I still make the trip to Abbotsford because of the polite and professional service, but mostly because they genuinely care about the health of my pet. Dr. Clarke is always careful to give me information and walks me through the whole process of caring for my pet, including explaining the various options prior to treatment and giving me thorough follow up instructions. I have always been more than happy with the care my pet has received at the clinic.
Did excellent job removing our cats lower canine tooth after she had an accident, fees just seem very expensive they bill you for every little thing. Very professional atmosphere and staff.
I've since deleted my facebook and my review there disappeared so I wanted to add it again on here... Absolutely amazing vet. They went above and beyond caring for my dog while he was sick. They take time to explain all the options and treatment that is best for your pet without any pressure. You can tell they really care about the animals and it's not just about making money. My family, which includes my dog Jack, loved all the vets and staff who each bring their own unique skills to the clinic for all around care. We especially loved Dr. Clark, who Jack saw most of. They gave us comfort, ease, and support during the most difficult times in a dog's life. Thank you thank you thank you.
WE LOVE THIS CLINIC!!! SO SO SOOOOO thankful for the amazing staff at Abbotsford Animal Hospital! When our 12 year old “pup” took a serious turn for the worst at the beginning of August we brought him in for a check. Dr. Bocknek could immediately tell something was very wrong... and reassured us we will get answers and Rollie will not suffer either way. After medication, modified diet, and an ultrasound it was determined our poor boy had pancreatitis and although the outlook was grim, we knew we had the support of every staff member there as they too had fallen in love with Rollie’s sweet and loving demeanour. After being sent home with another round of meds, well wishes, hope and everything possible on our bodies crossed for good news at our next check up we finally started to see our Rollie’s personality pep back up after a few day. And after yesterday’s visit we are confident he is on the mend <3 The past 4 weeks sucked... plain and simple. We were so worried that one day we probably called the vet 4-5 times and not once did they makes us feel as though we were a bother or frustrating them... they all understood how much our hearts ached and how confused and upset we were. We rescued Rollie 2 years ago and are so thankful to every single person at Abbotsford Animal Clinic for giving us more time to love on him. If you can’t tell... we HIGHLY recommend this place <3 THANK YOU!!!
Had a great experience and staff was really nice upon first visit . However, after the second visit, I had a horrible experience. The vet tech literally dragged my dog into the clinic and Dr. Clark was extremely ignorant regarding my dogs diagnosis. He will completely disregard your feelings and make backhanded comments. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
My senior dog became ill as non essential businesses were closing due to covid19. We could no longer get through to our regular vet and other clinics were refusing new patients. Emergency clinics in the area were charging insane amounts just for phone consultations to start. Thank God I tried Abbotsford because they accepted my dog, gave him wonderful treatment and were understanding of my limited budget. We feel very fortunate that they remain open at this difficult time and are not taking advantage financially of their patient's situations.
Dr. Clark and the team at Abbotsford Animal Hospital have been very good to us. My Abby has had a few issues to deal with and I feel confident she is receiving the best of care.:)
Doctor Cole saved our 13 year old beagle and we couldn't be more grateful! After being told by our previous vet that the cancer in her foot had progressed to the rest of her body & that she could not be treated left us heart broken! We were all so confused because she was still so full of life, we couldn't even imagine putting her down! Thankgod we found abbotsford animal hospital! Dr. Cole was able to perform laser surgery on her foot (something our previous vet told us was out of the picture) just 2 days after coming into the clinic! :). 1 month later and Bella is all healed up and cancer free, she now spends her days running around playing with her 3 month old Vizsla sister, Ginger! Thanks again Abbotsford!
I love this animal hospital. They have always looked after our animals and provided the best care. I also want to congratulate them for winning the 2014 Consumers Choice Award for Veterinarians.
I strongly urge anyone that is reading this to go elsewhere. In short - Unethical, unprofessional, incompetent, complete lack of care, lazy, rude customer service, poor communication, not transparent, inconsistent pricing. If you care about your pet even an iota amount, do not take them here. This vet failed to provide basic services such as: - Acquiring files from my previous vet on time (without providing proper reasoning as to why they were not able to do this - they had ample time to accomplish this) - Know what my appointment was in regards to - yes you read that right - when I showed up to my appointment, the staff had no idea why I was there - Provide email correspondence that reflects the quote we discussed over the phone as promised by the staff - Ability to communicate amongst themselves so that as my pets are passed from one staff member to the next, the next staff knew what was going on - I kept having to repeat myself to different staff members about what is going on and at one point, the same staff member needed me to repeat myself because she chose not to write down what I said - Provide consistent pricing - The price they tried to make me pay was approx. $70-80 above what was quoted to me over the phone and the staff was condescending when I brought this price discrepancy up - Keeping their promises - Dr. Cole had profusely apologized for the ‘completely unprofessional’ (his words) experience I had at this clinic because he could not find any excuses for the countless series of mishaps his staff caused. He promised that to make up for it - any outstanding shots that were not covered during this appointment but should have been taken place would be provided free of charge - as his staff failed to retrieve the files in time for my appointment to guide me on a professional level. Following the appointment, Abbotsford informed me that there was 1 outstanding shot that was missed during the appointment. I inquired about how to follow up with Dr Cole’s offer. It has been weeks and no response. It is clear that I am being ignored at this point by Dr Cole and his staff. Zero integrity to follow through with their voluntary promises. - Failure to discuss at a health professional level about what took place during the appointment - Dr Cole spent all his verbal communication with me apologizing for his staff that we did not discuss any recommendations or what he found during the dog’s check up appointment. - Responding back to my emails requesting for a quote for a service that is recommended by Dr Cole - Dr Cole had sent me an electronic copy of my dogs’ annual exam and wrote that he recommends a teeth cleaning and a stool sample for my dog and I inquired about the cost via email. It has been 2 weeks and no quote has been provided. The response from the staff via email, verbatim, was: “This is not receptions doing. We have done our job by letting the Dr. know you requested this quote. We are doing our very best to remind Dr. Cole to get this done in a reasonable time frame.“ Dr. Cole, I hope you know you are being thrown under the bus. This is likely not the first time. This is the quality of your staff. - Failure to follow up with the blood test results that I paid for. Dr Cole explicitly wrote in my dogs’ annual exams that he would follow up with the blood test results and of course, he has not. To reiterate one more time, it has been 2 weeks since my appointment and I have received no communication from Dr Cole and only rude remarks from his staff. All in all, it is highly unethical/immoral for this clinic to now have my pets’ files on hand, take my money for the blood test result but not provide the actual results, know that there are shots and services outstanding required for the health of my dogs and yet are choosing to ignore me when it is their staff that failed to do their job properly on so many levels.
I drive 45 minutes to the Abbotsford Animal Hospital and it's worth it. Best place ever. Thank you!!!
My family has been going to Abbotsford Animal Hospital for over 20 years, they have been the trusted go-to for all of our family pets and most recently our new puppy. They are a team of very dedicated and friendly individuals that ensure our puppy is happy and healthy. With every appointment, they provide a detailed exam report and go through all concerns with you while deciding the best course of action for your pet. We have had a few instances that required a trip to the vet and they have been very accommodating with trying to fit Coop in as quickly as possible. As new 'puppy parents', we couldn't be happier taking our little guy to see Dr. Clark. Cooper gets excited, tail wags, jumps and kisses every time we visit - it is so incredibly relieving and amazing to see your pet react in such a positive way even if they aren't feeling well. I would highly recommend Abbotsford to any current or future pet owner.
I am currently looking for a new vet to move my three dogs. Ridiculously overpriced and if you don't comb over the bill, they will sneak all kinds of things in there. My senior dog needs attention immediately, according to Dr. Cole....yet he won't answer questions about supplements without receiving a list of ingredients.....then he doesn't reply to my email or return my calls.....unless I'm in the parking lot with my credit card out, then he will call me very promptly until the incredibly high bill is paid. This experience has happened multiple times and I'm just done.
We have been taking our cat to this clinic for over 15 years and there is a reason for that. We can thank the team at Abbotsford for 18 great years (and counting) with our beloved family member. That is 18 years of checkups, a few emergencies and sometimes a few false alarms. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and a Dr.Cole who can apparently speak to cats have made each and every one of these visits great for both us and our guy. I can't say enough about the respect I have for these doctors and their team and the lengths they will go to to keep both the animals and their owners healthy and happy.
Just stay away from this clinic especially if you tend to deal with dr. COLE
Everyone really cares about the animals. The cost for each visit isn't crazy expensive either. Every time I have visited Abbostford Animal Hospital and received treatment for my cat, they follow up with a phone call the next day to see how my cat is doing. Thanks Abbostford for your excellent care of all my family's pets.
My cat has emergency situation but his vet is fully booked, so I google and found this place. Dr. Cole is amazing, very informative and patiently explain what's going on with my cat. They even texted me to follow up how's my cat doing afterward which really amaze me!!!! also, the highlighted part is they have a drive through service like McDonalds.... this place i will highly recommend to all my furries's friends.
The vets and technicians here are so passionate about their work. I always feel comfortable taking my cats here. Not the cheapest vet, but so worth the price.
So thankful for Abbotsford animal clinic who healed Roxy a double eye infection with ulcers. Her cone is off and she is feeling great! Thanks again ????????
Overrated. 'Caring For The Wallets From People – Than Pets'. Avoid sugery–extended warranty & further options required. Proper legislation is to be ensued.
I took my dog Mr. Milo for the first time yesterday to this clinic. They informed me about the cost prior to the appointment. Dr. Clark did the complete exam on my dog, then called me and explained everything in detail, and answered all my questions. He also did not charge us for the exam, which was very nice of him. I highly recommend Dr. Clark as he is very knowledgeable, patient, and respectful. Also to mention the friendly staff.
The Team @Abbotsford Animal Hospital are incredibly caring, kind and knowledgeable. We feel very fortunate to have found them in our time of need. Personal care, attention to detail and follow-up are just extraordinary!! They are #1!!!
Next time. Sorry dog is dead there is no next time. For other clients. If a dog keeps coming back 6 times with bladder, uti, kidney infections. What will u do. If you say antibiotics one more time. Close your business. Constant infections which antibiotics dont treat is what.? What about fungus? Can you vets wake up. Always thinking one pathogen. Gram stain . I can do this at home also. Bacteria is easy to find. You dont need a phd to figure this out. Also never assume there are no coinfections. Where there is one pathogen there are usually 2. If only Canada had pushed more doctors and vets towards pathology. Covid19 patients were given antibiotics and antifungals and corticosteroids like they were oxycodone and it was 2010. This vet is the same. Throw meds at a problem and hope something sticks. What kind of medicine is this. Stop with metronidozole Stop with over prescribing antibiotics without a exact culture and identification. (See above note metronidozole is very bacteria specific and this drug is so toxic it should only be a last resort drug) If you see one pathogen the environment is ideal for another almost always. So test Allergies are inflammation. Stop with the prednisone. Find the cause. Do not crash cortisol and shut down the immune system Stop treating symptoms please. Have some morals and ethics .. RiP big guy I am sorry I trusted vets with your health. That is on me. I am sorry I trusted you as you only wanted my money Metronidozole causes brain granulomas btw. Read a medical journal once every decade or so . A typical Pfizer product. Favorite meds prescribed Prednisone bad Metronidozole worst Tramadol bad Apoquel bad Benadryl bad Gabapentin no good Sorry for the review. I know we all need money. It's not your fault it's the system You need to see as many clients as you can bc it's not easy to run a business with so much overhead.
Great people you can tell they truly care about your animals only place I'll go if I have a choice.
I have been a client for 10 years now. Even though I moved away I have kept them as my vet - because you won't find better. They have treated both my special needs dogs as well as my foster animals. I've referred adopters here as well. I have seen all the doctors here and they always give me options. Their vet techs are incredible as are their front desk staff!
Amazing & Caring Staff. At A Time Of Panic & Need They Provided A Sense Of Security & Care - Regardless Of The Worse Possible Outcome. There Was 1 Day Where I Called Them At Least 7 Times And At No Point Did I Get The Feeling I Was Bothersome Or Cumbersome. They Continued To Help With Open Arms & In The End Their Care For All Their Patients (Animals & Their Humans) Shines Through. They Even Went The Extra Mile To Bath & Clip Our Dogs Nails When He Had To Go Under For Examination. He Came Out Feeling Confident & Happy And Considering The Circumstances - It Meant Everything To Us. If You Have Any Reservations About This Place - Go Here, If You Had A Poor Experience - Give It A 2nd Shot. This Place Cares & Will Do Everything In Their Power To Help. There Is No Wonder Why They Are Award Winning. GO HERE !!! :)
Abbotsford Animal Hospital staff and doctors truly wear their hearts on their sleeve. I had my first experience a week ago when I brought my 5 year old Corgi, Bryn in for an appointment. I had the absolute privilege of meeting Dr. Jory Bocknek who I can't honestly speak more highly of. Unfortunately I knew that my fur girl just wasn't herself and needed to be seen to get some answers. Dr. Bocknek came into the examination room and the first thing I noticed was how he got right down to Bryns level and sat on the floor with her. I found that to be such a personal touch instead of plunking her on a metal table to complete an exam. I was quite anxious myself and having Jory explain his thoughts in terms that I could understand was greatly appreciated. He presented me with a few options and ways to go about seeking answers to some of his potential findings. After bloodwork and an xray determined that Bryn would be best to remain in Hospital on IV antibiotics in hopes to quickly and aggressively begin her recovery process, I left my girl in the hands of those I knew ultimately had her best interests at heart. I was able to bring my fur girl home after spending 2 nights at Abbotsford. They called me morning and night on the days she was in their care with updates. Again, greatly appreciated. After another blood test came back that results weren't known for when I picked Bryn up Wednesday, it was confirmed that she was diagnoised with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. My (our) hearts broke. Knowing the previous symptoms and findings Bryn was presenting on top of the final diagnosis, it was evident that her quality of life just wouldn't ever return and that although too soon, it was time for her to cross over the rainbow bridge. The emotions into making that final decision were heart wrenching. Jory and the staff who'd been involved in Bryns care/treatment plan were genuine, honest and reassuring. I couldn't have asked for my fur baby to be taken care of any better than the place she took her last breath. She was safe and I found so much comfort in that when I left her side for the very last time, despite if my composure showed otherwise. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Abbotsfords staff and Dr. Bocknek for the care, attention, love and comfort you provided Bryn in what none of us could have imagined would be her final days.
Jory Bockneck is Exceptional, I have been taking my Dog Ben to him for 6 years, there is nobody I trust more than him, He is honest and tells you exactly what needs to be done. I always feel like I'm in good hands and that My dog will get the best care possible. Jory goes above and beyond for us and we absolutely love him. his associates and staff are great. Thank you Jory for doing what you do.
Between our cat Milkshake and our rabbit Honey, we’ve seen Dr Bocknek, Clark and Cole. All of them at separate times have helped keep our animals alive, and also healthy. They provide our animals with love and care every single time. Although they are not the cheapest vet, they do NOT charge for anything you don’t need. Everything is always explained in detail, and I’ve never felt overcharged. There’s plenty of times we’ve actually suggested things and been told “I don’t think you need that right now, if things don’t approve we can re-evaluate later”. All of the doctors are super personable and kind. They honestly do treat your pets like their own. Annette, Charleen, Brittany, Tanya, Gloria, and whoever else I may have missed are wonderful people. After milkshake came back after going missing, they treated us like family. Not only calling us with updates but providing US with the care and love we needed during a traumatic time. I cannot thank all of the staff at Abbotsford more. If you’re looking for a cheap vet, you probably shouldn’t have a vet. You absolutely get the quality of care you pay for at Abbotsford.
I cannot thank the team at Abbotsford enough for the level of care they had for my poor and ailing Bosco or for me for that matter. They made him the star and me comforted, completely assured and taken care of. Truly my heroes and Boscos only place of care for life. ❤️
I want to congratulate all of the great and hard working staff at Abbotsford Animal Hospital. Recently, you were awarded the Consumers Choice Award for "2014 Best Vet in York Region" It is fantastic that your hard work and compassion are being acknowledged!! Keep up the great Job. Derek
Overpriced, unfriendly, overall not great. The prices they charge are out right ridiculous, the staff and doctor are not very friendly, and the responses to some of these reviews are so unprofessional. If you are looking for a good vet, check some place else, because this is not the place to go.
Excellent staff! Professional and very friendly ???? Everything is explained and we'll organized.
The BEST Vet in Southern Ontario. I've been bringing my cat Luna to Abbotsford Animal Hospital since I rescued her in 2017. I can honestly say that we always have a great experience when we visit for check ups. The staff are all extremely nice and Dr. Bocknek is by far the nicest vet I've ever had the pleasure to take my fur baby to. He's honest, Luna loves him and he never overcharges me for any unnecessary tests or meds. I live in Toronto and never hesitate to drive to Aurora so that my cat can get the best care possible.
The staff and Dr.Bocknek are absolutely amazing. I’m very pleased with the service and how responsive and honest they are. Prince has injured his knee and due to financial circumstances because of covid- 19 I wanted to wait a month or so to do the surgery. They reassured me that it should be fine and they calmed me down as I was very emotional. They asked me to return in 1 month for a follow up exam with dr. bocknek. Based on how he does over the next month they will come up with a plan that works for myself and Prince. The staff is very patient and understanding and our fur babies are well taken care of. I truly recommend them and wouldn’t bring Prince anywhere else. Thank you again Abbotsford Animal Hospital.
I have been going to Abbotsford for just over nine years and have three healthy and happy dogs thanks to the care and treatments they provide. Their Professionalism, honestly and determination to provide best in class care for our dogs is what sets them apart. Thanks to all the wonderful staff there that make this possible everyday. I highly recommend them.
I was playing very ruff had a bad accident. This time I broke a bone that wasn't my usual chewy and it hurt really bad. I called around and Abbotsford was the only one available on a Sunday to take me in and have a good look. They gave me lots of treats n' pets to keep my happy, predictably it worked. I've been told I'm a cheap date. Dr. Cole and his team did a full check-up to make sure that before any surgery, they understood all the risks. The whole AAH team was always keeping in touch, making sure I had all the information about my situation. They even became my best buds - I think they like me the most. I've been known to have that effect on people. Finally, when I was all fixed up, they sent me off with a small doggie bag of medicine treats to make sure my downtime is comfortable and quick as possible. I also noticed someone shaved my leg. This was a surprise but....I think I like it..... To the whole team at Abbotsford, thank you for sending me back to my family a happy pup. I know they really wanted me back so it's great to see them happy again!
I've been taking my pets to Abbotsford since the beginning. They've always received the best up-to-date treatment from the entire staff. Medically and surgically Abbotsford is first class. Dr. Jory is my hero!
These guys are totally clueless. I took my dog in on a Monday because he had a runny, high fever, pain in joints etc (general flu like symptoms) and they told me he has a bad respiratory infection and possible pneumonia. So they prescribe him "Tribrissen 48". They give him a shot of it (plus a shot of Subcutaneous fluids in his neck) and then some tablets to take at home. Anyways, 2 days later (Wednesday) and he is not feeling any better. He also can barely move because of his joints now, We call these doctors back and they tell us he is getting worse, and his respiratory infection will not get any better at home. We NEED to bring him back so he can stay in for a couple days and be taken care of (possibly for thousands of dollars), Dr. Cole tells us that he "can't believe he was allowed to be an out-patient with these extreme symptoms." The general guilt trip. We tell him we don't have the thousands of dollars he says it will "most likely" take. It's at this point he begins a slight lecture on the importance of having credit cards in this type of situation, like one of those Credit Card Reps forcing Visas onto you at the Kiosks in the Mall. Well one thing led to another, we decided to go to another vet Thursday morning. They get him in quickly because of all the scare tactics Abbotsford used and do some x-rays. We're scared because of what Abbotsford has led us to believe. So after these X-Rays our new vet reveals to us what the real problem is!!! A pinched nerve in his neck. This is why he has joint pain and can barely move. He also has a very MINOR respiratory infection which caused the runny nose and fever. And which can be cleared up with some antibiotics. NOT the potential pneumonia Abbotsford believed. FYI - The speech that Dr. Cole and Dr. Clark will give you is literally IDENTICAL: "If we lived in a perfect world, where money is no object, than I would absolutely go with this treatment" They will then hand you a quote for however many thousands there chosen treatment costs. Ha! These guys reminded me more of salesmen than Veterinarians. Needless to say, my dog doing fine now and we did it all for a fraction of what Abbotsford quoted us.
I have been taking my cat and dog to Abbotsford for years. First my cat who we rescued from a shelter and then my retriever that we rescued from a private surrender. The staff at Abbotsford are knowledgeable, friendly, caring and genuinely love their jobs. It doesn't matter who is at the front desk, they are always welcoming and happy to see you and your pet. The Vet Techs are very hands on, love their job and are so helpful! The doctors are always trying to make sure your pet are happy and healthy. They give you different options for any issues and ensure you know the costs up front. We have also been purchasing our pets food there. The doctors and vet techs are so knowledgeable about different foods, side effects, weight loss and exercise plans. I highly recommend Abbotsford Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their pet.... the staff at Abbotsford love them as much as you do!
As much as it might be not a good idea to say something like “the best of all” in a review, as it might look suspicious and not trustworthy, this is not the case here as I hardly can put it in any other way. This is the best clinic in … probably the entire country. As simple as that. You hardly can and would get any more or better affection and attention to your beloved pet elsewhere. It’s in Abbotsford Animal Hospital you fully realize it’s their passion rather than “a job”. Very warm, informal and personal attitude. And sometimes they are the lifesavers as such. Here I especially would also like to express my special gratitude to Dr. Mark Cole. He saved my pet’s life, among all other amazing things he does on a daily basis. Very carrying person and the absolute professional. Needless to say, I highly recommend Abbotsford Animal Hospital for all your pets’ needs in a hart beat.
This is an awesome clinic. The staff and vets are the best around. I would recommend the team at Abbotsford at anyone.
I would like to thank all the staff at abbottsford they are the definition of compassion. Dr Derek and Charlene have been Tosodos main caregivers for about the last 9 out of his 14 years at abbottsford. Derek is a doctor that takes so much care,, and Charlene is such a beautiful and caring tech. I'm at ease when I drop my little freind off. Thank you from my heart.
I have an anxious dog and all of the team at abbotsford are so great with him, which is a huge weight off a crazy furmamas shoulders. Dr Cole is competent and knowledgeable and always makes you feel like a part of the conversation regarding your pets health. A good vetrinary team is invaluable so Kaiser will be a patient here for a long time!
Dr. Cole apologized to us three times on our visit for three different things and agreed with us that we received terrible service. The first reason he apologized was that our contact number was written down incorrectly which is completely fine. The second was that their staff didn't contact our previous vet for files of our dogs which they said they would do but didn't and we drove to Abbotsford not knowing their lack of preparation causing a huge headache during the appointment as the staff had no idea what to do and relied on our memory and did not write anything down resulting in them coming to our car (cause of quarantine) multiple times for things we already said. The third thing was that the quote we got when making the appointment from one of the staff was not written down even though Dr. Cole eventually informed us that it was proper procedure to write stuff like quotes down when given out but their excuse was that they just didn't this time for whatever reason. This was entirely not agreeable because the quote was significantly less than what they attempted to make us pay for. After some frustrating communication with their frustrating staff about the discrepancy between the quote and the total tallied, Dr. Cole himself called us, apologized to us three times then went on to tell us that the service we received was terrible and not a reflection of him who is a cofounder of Abbotsford and that he would make things right. He offered to lower the cost (by about $40 from the original quote which is a measly amount for the trouble we went through) and saying that if we were to need any other shots for the dogs (since they didn't have all the information) he would do it free of charge if we came back (we assumed this was for the trouble of having to return to them due to their own incompetence of not receiving the files from our previous vet as they said they would and having us drive there completely blind sighted) and we politely agreed to all of this for we were not trying to be cheap but just trying to pay the amount we agreed upon by phone. After this visit, we were informed our dogs required other shots and a dental procedure, which we tried to contact Dr. Cole about but he ignored us for 14 days and continues to ignore us. We know for a fact we are waiting solely on the doctor's reply as this was stated by the staff by phone and by email. Gracious when getting rid of the problem before receiving our payment but mediocre when following through after receiving the payment, I can only assume you decided not to go through with what you promised after you realized it's not worth it for whatever selfish reason. Ignoring us is unethical towards the health of our dogs as well as you delay the appointments we can make for them with other vets. Dr. Cole, I hope you saw this review coming because you were basically asking for it. Previously, you said the service was not reflective of you but honestly you may be worse than what you were attempting to disassociate yourself from, I see your company as not only incompetent now but also untrustworthy and scummy. I just hope you aren't reflective in any appreciable way of the veterinarian profession at this point. Oh, by the way, the staff were very condescending and gave attitude and were just full of themselves, I can see them writing these responses to these other negative reviews clear as day. From communication with the staff AND the doctor now, it is obvious that they cannot back up their words with actions and are just not recommendable for any reason. There was a comment on this thread of reviews about a doctor here that suggested the removal of a dog's eyes when it wasn't necessary as a solution, I first found this inconceivable but now I feel like anything is possible with Abbotsford. Even if you should offer us the free shots and such now, I do not feel comfortable taking your service at all so don't bother. Also, don't bother replying to this review, I really don't need more insincere words or excuses from you, you wasted enough of my time.
Thanks to Dr. Cole, I still have my dog Ozzy. I originally took him to the Abbotsford Animal Hospital to repair a torn ligament in his knee, but upon a thorough examination before the surgery, Dr. Cole spotted 2 lumps on the back of his tongue. He lasered them off and sent them in for a biopsy. Sure enough they were cancerous but Dr. Cole caught them so early that there has been no sign of them since. A couple of other health issues prolonged booking of his knee surgery until finally he was all clear, but Dr. Cole wisely suggested that we try Cartophen shots, (non-steriod anti-inflammatory) as an alternative to putting Ozzy through a long recovery, (he's almost 14yr). I couldn't be happier with how well Ozzy is doing!!! Ozzy walks as fast as he did before the injury and you would never even know that anything is wrong with his knee. After every exam, Dr. Cole calls me personally to explain the results and see if I have any questions which I really appreciate and the rest of the staff is really great as well. Big thanks to all at the Abbotsford Animal Hospital :)
I've been a client for about 25 years and the care my pets receive is exceptional. The entire staff is amazing. I've dealt with each of the Vets for different pets and they truly go above and beyond.
I’ve had many pets in my life and understand the responsibility and cost that comes with them (although the doctors here will guilt trip you into thinking otherwise). I’ve owned dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and water fowl. I’ve had my fair share of experience with veterinarians, so when we were patients at abbotsford and our kitten had to be put down due to an autoimmune disease, I expected it to be somewhat costly but not completely unreasonable. Rewind for a sec. I previously was with another veterinarians office but noticed Abbotsford had almost a 5 star rating (4 years ago..) so we switched. Before the switch though, our 120 lb American Bulldog passed away and the vets office (like Abbotsford) based their cremation on weight. When we got our dogs ashes back, we were charged $450. Reasonable. Fast forward.. At this point we are with Abbotsford, our 2 lb kitten passes away and we are told cremation is based on weight. When we get our kittens ashes back, a $750 price tag came along with. Absolutely absurd. But they will be “so gracious” to offer you a payment plan after scamming you out of funds. On top of this, throughout the 1 year of time we spent there, they also charged us for 5 stool samples but only one of them was ever processed; and they tried slipping additional charges onto our bills a few times although quotes for all work was given before hand, thoroughly discussed, and agreed upon before signing. I had to call them out twice for doing so and somehow they never had any idea how it could have happened. Gee! If only every business could run this way, they’d all be rich! This office is an absolute ripoff and needless to say we paid for our kittens ashes and never went back again. We found a new office in Aurora who takes excellent care of our pets and doesn’t try to get rich, or dish out guilt trips, while doing so. Edit added due to Abbotsford reply: Abbotsford, you charged me $750 dollars to cremate my cat. Try to spin it, say you didn’t, but my partner and I paid the bill and we did NOT forget our costly experience or the argument that took place between us and your staff. There’s a reason you offered us a “generous payment plan” and trust me, it isn’t because we are broke. It honestly comes as no surprise that you would find the truth to be unfair considering how many time we were lied to and misled about expenses. We are VERY happy with our current veterinarian at LeGallais Veterinarian Hospital. They aren’t cheap, in fact they probably cost a touch more than your office, but they are transparent, genuinely caring, not condescending and above all else, HONEST. When we are given estimates for care, they actually stick to their word. I cannot say that about Abbotsford.
All of the vets and staff are just excellent. The care provided is thorough, thoughtful, and professional. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The proof is in the pudding - it's my healthy, happy dog's favorite place to be!
I started taking.my Malamute to Dr. Cole many years ago as another vet was too nervous of such a big dog . Dr. Cole was amazing with him. Fast forward about 20 years and my move north and now two little shitzhus in my home with my Waffles the youngest of the brothers having a hernia . I could only think of one vet that i would trust to care for my fur baby ...Dr. Cole. He's been nothing but kind, hes alwaya so knowledgeable, so generous and he saved my Waffles. Abbotsford animal Hospital has the best caring staff but my favorite is Doctor Cole. He was awesome with our dog and my daughter. Everyone was. Thank you to all of you at Abbotsford Animal Hospital. We couldn't have gone thru this without you. You all made us feel welcome and comforting while he was in surgery. Many Many thank yous h
My entire family has been going to Abbotsford Animal Hospital for all of our pets' veterinary needs for many years. We have had many cats and dogs, all of which, have been treated there with the best of care. The Doctors at this clinic are very professional and knowledgable in caring for all animals. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, making each visit to the clinic, a good one. This Veterinary Clinic is always clean. Dr. Bocknek, Dr. Cole and Dr. Clark provide the best veterinary care available. I highly recommend this clinic to anybody who loves their animals and values wonderful loving care for your pets.
The team at Abbotsford have been tending to the needs of our cat for over 10 years and we are continuously impressed with the level of care, compassion and knowledge shown. The treatment plans are always made with your pet's best interest in mind. They look for long-term solutions as opposed to band-aid fixes that have you coming back every few weeks. The prices of the services they offer are extremely fair, especially in comparison to surrounding veterinary clinics and the "Recommended Prices." Our cat has been seen by all the vets at this clinic and we have full confidence in all of them. I cannot say enough positive things about this clinic, I will always bring my animals here.
If you do go to this hospital see another vet. DO NOT SEE DR.COLE. He will convince you to do a "small blood test" and then charge you hundreds of dollars for multiple tests. Then you don't hear back from him regarding the tests that you just paid a small fortune for. He has no problem taking your money but he doesn't have the decency to call you about them. And then when you call to find out what is going on and hoping there is nothing wrong, since you haven't heard from him, you get the response that a message will be left, multiple messages. I don't blame the staff who have to hear my complaints or the staff that took care of my baby. BUT he had no issues blaming them for his lack of response when I finally did hear from him. He is unprofessional and he will not be seeing any of my pets again.
The staff at Abbotsford were really great at squeezing us in for an emergency appointment. Dr. Bocknek was really great at putting my wife at ease and now our Cali is back to her normal self!
Great vet hospital. Vets are top notch, skilled, very experienced and very emphatic to us worried owners. Front desk are great. Would highly reccomend
Dr Bocknek and the team at Abbotsford are amazing. Everyone is always so friendly and informative. Our dog Lemon was just spayed and was handled with the best care. They gave us some great options in what we could and could not have paid for and nothing was pushed on us. It’s great to have a vet that is willing to go the extra mile to work with you ! Thank you so much Jory for your work that is always continuing to impress us !
I unfortunately had to put my cat of 20 years down last year and I can truly say this place eased the traumatic experience. It was still absolutely heartbreaking, but the doctor on duty was beyond patient and beyond compassionate. He was a young doctor (maybe in his 30s) and he sat on the floor with me and went over her blood results countless time.... Never showing any sign of annoyance as I cried my eyes out. I was just thinking about this experience now as I lay here with a new cat best friend. I would highly recommend this clinic. I have moved to Barrie or else I'd still be going there. Hope to find a animal clinic here as good as this one!!
DR Clark and the entire staff are experts: compassionate, competent and caring. We are very pleased with all aspects of care, over a fifteen year history, with three dogs. I do not hesitate to recommend the Abbortsford Animal hospital.
I have been going to this Vet for years. Not only have they been courteous, but they have never rushed me out the door. They sit with me and talk to me about what is going on, the options, where I can save money and what is absolutely necessary. It is our responsibility as pet owners to ask the tough questions. I have always asked and although, I have not always liked the answer, I knew they were being truthful. This Vet clinic offers services that no other clinic in the area has. Each one of the vets on staff have different areas of expertise, which allows for them to talk with each other to determine the best diagnosis with a tricky case. I had an animal live 7 years longer than they should have because of these guys and their creative treatments. They have allowed me to be present during treatments and taught me how to administer procedures to allow me to take my animals home and just be with them. They have refered me to the OVC in Guelph when they did not have the ability to treat them due to a rare disease and rare blood type. They have consoled me through the loss of many animals, even calling family members and friends to make sure I got home okay. They are wonderful and personable people. They truly care. I referred this Vet Clinic to multiple friends and they have all went to them and been happy with their care. They identified conditions in their animals that NO OTHER local Vet were able to find. I highly recommend this clinic. Remember, it is your responsibility to take care of your furry family member.
I just moved to Aurora and needed a vet right away for my cat. After a quick google search and reading the reviews I chose Abbotsford Animal Hospital, and I'm glad I did! Dr. Cole was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and transparent. I was so impressed, and I'll be returning for any and all vet needs from now on! Highly recommend this vet!
Amazing support. Dr Cole have been just impressive and staff are amazing. I would recommend this hospital no question asked. Remon Agia
We live a half hour away and have been taking our pug to Abbotsford for the last 6 years. It is worth the drive!! Dr. Bocknek is amazing and has always treated our pug with the best care. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate and has gone over and beyond for us. He always takes the time to answer our questions regarding any treatment our pug needs. The front desk staff are always welcoming and happy to see us when we walk in the door. They have always accommodated us especially with short notice emergency visits. The vet tech girls are fantastic. They treat our pug as if he's their own!! I have nothing but great things to say about Abbotsford and I am always recommending them to other pet owners. Honestly we don't know what we would do without this awesome team!!
10 ⭐️ 's , two ????????, and infinite ???? ???????? ???? I recently brought my dog in to Abbottsford Animal Hospital, for dental cleaning appointment with Dr.Clark. This was my first time with Dr.Clark as my vet and I have to say, I was very impressed. From our first conversation (during the dental consult), it was clear that he was genuinely passionate about caring for animals. I am always a little wary about putting my dog under anesthesia (because of a collapsed trachea), but I found Dr.Clark to be most helpful, professional and accommodating. He was patient with me and answered all of my questions. He also insisted on taking x-rays which proved to be critical. Over the years several vets have told me that I had been doing a remarkable job cleaning & brushing my dogs teeth and that a deep cleaning could wait. Though my dogs' teeth looked good on the outside, the x-rays revealed eight problematic teeth with cavities and/or root/bone decay that were causing my dog pain. If we had not taken x-rays, we would not have known this and the cleaning would have been merely superficial as she would still have these eight rotten teeth in her mouth . Thanks to Dr.Clark I am confident that we added years to my dogs life (considering the impact that dental health has on organ health). From beginning to end, it was evident that Dr.Clark had the utmost concern for the health & wellbeing of my dog at all times. He kept me updated and informed and helped me to feel at ease (which is not easy when your pet is in for surgery). I can honestly say that I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Clark when it comes to my dogs health & well-being... (now if only he would take me on as a patient ????). This is a man of integrity. Highly recommended. *Note: all the vet techs & staff are equally as amazing. They all took turns holding my dog in warm blanket when she woke up hypothermic, and they genuinely cared about her recovery. Thanks to the entire team, Molly is happy and well. But most important, she is no longer in pain. -Fondly, from a forever grateful dog owner ????❤️✨
Friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate staff! One of my pets is with Dr.Cole and the other is with Dr.Bocknek. We are are equally as happy with both of them. Nothing but great things to say about this animal hospital. We couldn't be happier with the care or pets have received. Highly recommend!!!
Amazing staff, technicians and veterinarians ???? A veterinary hospital that cares about your pet and your budget. Before any services are performed, you are presented with an itemized list of services and costs. All within reason. No sticker shock when you leave as in most other animal hospitals. They are open 7 days a week, and staff are very friendly as they try to assist you. Definitely 5 star service, professional and caring staff, and superior veterinarians
I highly recommend Abbotsford for all your pet's needs. The Doctors here are caring, compassionate and up to date with the latest technology. I was so impressed by this facility. The staff are friendly and kind and will treat your pet with the same care and attention that they would treat their own pets with. Prices are reasonable and fair. Hands down the best vets around!
My family and I live in Aurora, we have been most fortunate to have Abbotsford Animal hospital care for a very important member of our family. All through his life he has received excellent care there and he is now 15! Thank you Abbotsford for helping us keep our dog healthy and happy.
Our dog had his first visit today, everyone was so warm and friendly - from the front desk to the doctor himself. Great experience. Update - my dog recently had a major health set back, although diagnosis took both time and testing. Dr. Bocknek took the time to explain what was going on, phoned us several times for check ins over the past few days and gave some great ideas (a variation of the meatball idea worked!) as we are trying to nurse our Dane back to health. I was impressed with his compassion for our dog and our family, I appreciated his empathy as we try to make the best choice.
Dr Bocknek and his team are amazing I have been taking my two dogs to them for 7 years and always get the best treatment and help that me and my dogs need. Thank you for all your hard work and I totally recommend taking your pet for the best treatment you can get from Abbodsford animal hospital.
Was terribly disappointed with this vet. Spent over $4000 running the same tests and trying to resolve an issue with my dog. They tried to make the tests seem different only that they were for the same reason. They didn't work with an open mind but and refuse to open to the idea that it could be something other than what they thought and kept running the same test. My dog was getting worse and worse and finally went to another vet who was more willing to work with us and look at different causes and possible treatments. We were not coerced into running the same tests over and over again with no result only to spend more money. They found out he had cancer. I believe because of Abbotsford's inability to diagnose, it delayed the treatment and it was too late causing my dog to die. I don't recommend you go there.
Dr. Clark is the kindest most wonderful vet we have ever had. He has seen our Bruce for a number of reasons in the past and is always so incredibly thorough. He has taken his own personal time to contact us and talk us through some hardships. He really makes you feel like a friend. Lucky to have stumbled upon him. Our experience with other vets there has been wonderful as well. You can’t go wrong. Their staff are also so sweet and caring. Couldn’t say enough about this place!
My dog jersey is a 7 year old Sheppard, she was very sick we thought we were going to have to put her down but Dr. Cole was absolutely beyond amazing! He worked with us on a budget to find out what was wrong and then he did everything he could to get her better-and stuck to the budget as he understood money was tight. My dog is coming home today because of his kind heart compassion and amazing drive as a vet! Would recommend him and his team 1000 times over! Thank you so much for what you have done for me and my family words just don't seem enough!
Two weeks ago my cat was badly dehydrated and would not eat. This was a Sunday and my regular vet was closed.I contacted two other vets to rush my cat in and they both rejected me because they said they were full. I found Abbotsford Animal Hospital in Aurora. They were also very busy, however Dr. Cole managed to squeeze me in. He saved my cats life!! The clinic gave my cat the the best possible care and appropriate medication. Dr.Cole and staff are very dedicated and treat the pets as family members and not numbers. They are kind, and respectful towards the animals and customers. Their on site labs enables them to get quick test results and they are open 7 days a week. I highly recommend Dr. Cole and his staff at Abbottsford Animal Hospital.
This vet clinic was so very responsive to the emergency we had....even tho we were not regular clients. Dr Cole saw our dog quickly, and explained...in real terms, not vet-speak.....what procedure was necessary. He then proceeded with the surgery within a few days. We were a little resistant to leaving our pup for three nights, but finally decided to listen to the advice and follow thro....what a difference this decision made to our dogs recovery. As well, the use of laser equipment, not available at all clinics, made a profound difference in our digs level of pain, and her overall recovery. Dr Cole and Charlene we especially wonderful, but we must admit, the whole staff was marvelous. We would trust the care of our beloved ‘fur baby ‘ to the professionals at this clinic any time! Superb job Abbottsford!
It is sad ... o have take my dogs to these people for years. Had not gone in a bit and now it is time for me to say goodbye to one of my dogs and they cannot fit me in... Glad you got all that other money over the years but now cannot help ... it is an emotional time and this review was created at a bad time... but this is when I look for the support the most from the people who took care of her for the 11 years prior. Will never go back. Customer locality I guess means nothing
I've been going to Abbotsford for almost a year now. Appointments are always on time and their staff is friendly and professional. The veterinarians are fantastic and take the time to answer questions and explain everything -- we never feel rushed. No, Abbotsford is not the cheapest.... but you get what you pay for. I for one, will never be taking my dog anywhere else.
Have been going to Abbotsford for over 20 years and have had nothing but good experiences. The animals have ranged from feral cats, dogs and cats found on the road and my own pets and all have been treated with the utmost care. From the front desk, kennel staff, technicians and vets all have been kind, considerate and most of all competent. I have and would in the future recommend Abbotsford as a first class veterinary establishment. Once again I have to thank the Abbotsford staff for their care and expertise this time for literally saving my dogs life. In these trying times with two dogs we have experienced a cruciate leg operation and a pancreatic attack. In both cases the staff at Abbotsford have been available and we thank them all. Having watched many animals being dropped off in the parking lot and being picked up by Abbotsford staff we have yet to see one distressed animal enter the clinic in fact ,as with my dogs, their tails are a wagging. Thank you Abbotsford staff you deserve more than 5 stars. M and P
I should have written this review a long time ago. Several years ago my lhasa apso was having trouble with her eyes. We took her there, she was very scared, as she was an antsy pup. Dr. Jory Bocknek was the one who treated her. He was VERY aggressive with her, at one point flipping her over as she screamed. Anyway, aside from all that, and a $650 bill, his recommendation was that she needed her eyes removed. Luckily I had the sense to go to a different vet, who recommended we take her to a pet opthamologist, which we did (this woman was also based in Aurora). Needless to say, all the dog actually needed was a $50 eye drop treatment over several months. It's a good thing I didn't remove the poor dog's eyes!
Dr. Mark Cole and his staff are very caring and had helped our golden retriever who ate something he is not supposed to. Dr. Mark had provided the appropriate advices and treatment for my dog and he is now all happy again. Thank you for the attentive care of Dr. Mark Cole and his team.
