I cant begin to explain how amazing this team is, always caring and helpful. They do everything possible to provide the best care and treatment to our fur babies. Dr. Grewal especially is the most caring and gentle veterinarian I have ever met, he listens and genuinely cares and will do what ever it takes to make sure you get the best possible outcome! These people are not in it for the money clearly, they are doing what they do because the care, because they want to help and love animals.

I have been dealing with FPH for 10 yrs. I gave my trust over to them dozens of times. From surgeries to check ups to x-rays to medication, to preventative care to standing by as I said goodbye to my beloved pets. Understanding, helpful, compassionate, and best of all my dogs and cats have never feared being treated. That's what and why I decided to switch vets yrs ago. My one girl started being fearful of going to the vet. So I gave this practice a shot and my girl wasn't afraid. So I bring the entire gang in.

Doctor took on a job he could not handle and took our money. This vet is inexperienced and a terrible communicator. Makes the girl assistants carry around huge dogs that weigh 100+ pounds doesn’t seem overly concerned about doing his job. If you want a caring and understanding vet and your pet has any issue that seems semi serious please get them proper care and don’t take then to this joke of a “hospital”.

I brought my extremely sick cat into Family Pet Hospital. A lot of tests x-rays blood work etc had to be wrong to find out the issue. They were extremely professional and seemed to genuinely care about my pet. I am extremely low income and because of that you're very kind and generous and giving me discounts on the things that they could just count. In the end I had to put my pet down, as they were putting her to sleep both me and my daughter wept. As I looked up at the doctor he had an extremely sad look on his face he said this was the worst part of the job he was extremely sorry for what had to be done. When I came back after I had my animal cremated to pick up the ashes professional polite generous and genuinely cared how we were doing. I strongly recommend family pet hospital to anybody that loves their animals they are extremely talented professional and they all have big hearts.

If you really love your cat or dog and want the best care and treatment for them,i highly recommend family pet hospital.Recently our dear cat granola got ill and we brought her there so we could get her better.But we found out through a blood test that she had a terminal illness .We didn't want her to suffer on her last days so my wife and I had to make a dificult decision.The entire staff were professional and really care about the cats and dogs that people bring into have them cared for.They did all they could do for granola and more and for that my wife and I will always be grateful.Thank you

Immensely pleased! My cat stopped eating due to two sore teeth. I went to another nearby vet (rhymes with "Better Fountain") and was charged $460 - for what I thought was teeth pulling! Turns out I had paid for an assessment and bloodwork! They told me she had bad teeth - what?!?!?You didn't pull them?? Paid that bill, THEN got a quote for $900 IN ADDITION to the $460 I had already paid. I was TICKED. I then went to Family Pet. They saw me right away, and pulled the teeth that same day! Cost was $522 total, versus the $460 + $900 ($1360!!) at "rhymes with Better Fountain". Family Pet has earned my business and trust.

I chose Family Pet Hospital because they are compassionate and professional, and mindful of the fact that this was an incredibly sad time for my wife and I, and especially for my buddy of 18 years. They helped to calm him down (he hadn't liked the car ride) and he was much more relaxed when he softly faded away. It's hard to be positive at this time of loss, but the folks here were very considerate and left us to our mutual tears in the privacy of the room. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us through this difficult time, and for making his passing as painless as possible.

It was pretty okay. Was told the Vet would only be a few moments, but that turned into around 20 minute wait. I do get that you can get busy so that is what it is. The Techs were nice, but I felt pretty talked down to and juged by the Vet. I saw her label my dogs ear infection as severe. I've seen severe ear infections, and I'm sure she has as well. This is not one. No ear infection is fun, but to try and play it up like I'm neglectful, and acting like my dog has being continuously suffering (when that's not the case) is an awful feeling, and not a great thing to do to a potential client. I got him in within a week while i've seen people let their dog suffer for months. Over all, a mediocre experience that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Zero Stars....You want a dead animal after a misdiagnoses then you’ve found your go to Vet. Not only will they be rough with your pets. They also do not know how to clean as the place smells worse than a puppy mill. I’ve never felt so disrespected in my life. Never paying the bill as they are the cause of his death. This is why you google the place and low income patients accepted is all over their listings. They use your love for your pet to get you to do procedures that are unnecessary and prescribe medication that causes renal failure.

This clinic is behind on the times in veterinary medicine. They prescribe medications that have been proven to damage cats (ace promazine), they have AWFUL monitoring during surgery and don't do any monitoring of vitals during dental procedures. They will do anything they can to cover their butts if things go wrong. They treat their staff awful and require them to do tasks well above their pay grade. But the place is cheap! You get what you pay for.

2 dogs, 12+ cats later with these folks. (I am a foster mom) After I questioned the receptionist about the invoice for a spay, I was meet with attitude and was told if I didn't like it I could take my business somewhere else. Honestly, I was shocked! I guess business is bad so they add stuff to the invoice and hope you don't notice. Not surprising with customer services like that! Do yourself a favor for both you and your pet and go somewhere else. Brutal!!!!

Sunday. Our vet was closed. Being told several times by others we had no choice but to drive 45 mins to an hour into Langley to a Emergency vet there. Family Pet Hospital took us in and saw one of our beloved Spitz immediately who has been in a bad way. Dr Grewal was calm, listened intently and asked all the right questions so to best diagnosis any possible serious concerns. I'm not from the Chilliwack area but came to this vet after my 2yr old dog was attacked and badly injured by another dog. Family Pet Hospital preformed life-saving surgery - my dog had 2 punctured lungs, a punctured diaphragm and 2 fractured ribs. They lost him once during the operation but brought him back and he survived. I am forever grateful for Family Pet Hospital, my dog would not be alive today if it wasn't for them.

If I could rate this plaxe (-182739) stars i would.Took my 11 month old mastiff x lab here because she had an ear infection , after barely looking in her ear i asked the "doctor" a few other questions about her health. I have noticed some circle rashes on her belly and tried to get him to look at them. INSTEAD he feels her nipples and says she might have CANCER. Excuse me??? , sorry what? she might have cancer, be pregnant, or due to the hot weather . buddy where the hell did you go to school?? Cancer ??? Pregnancy? To me these answers are so dramatic and not to mention he didnt EVEN LOOK AT HER STOMACH just felt her nipples?!?!?! Like a different reviewer said... Dont let the 5 stars fool you. The play is a dump, the nurses dont really care, the doctor was less help than before we got there. Will never ever go here again . place is a scam, please take your money where you will get actual answers and real help, my baby didn't deserve this.

Got my dog neutered was great service for him. But when I went to pick him up they were cleaning with strong cleaner that I found it hard to breath in there. Also, had to take puppy in because he had a reaction to his 12 w shots. Again, they got me right in. Because again my reg vet was closed. They were kind, and compassionate. The doctor misdiagnosed my puppy’s “rash” and prescribed me another medicine to help. When I asked it could be Demodex mites he looked at me if I were the stupidest person in the world. Thank god I went to another vet to get a proper diagnosis to confirm that is was Demodex and get the proper treatment for my pup! The service from the vet is horrible and and he is very rough and almost cruel to my dog!! I would recommend anywhere else but here.

They got me in right away when my dog was having problems. Their fees are all a good 5-15 dollars less than the vet I had been going to and that adds up A LOT. I was offered options and felt respected when I didn’t go for all the expensive testing right away, I’ve never had a vet do that, they’re usually so black and white. But we took it slow and my dog healed with some medications and I saved $600 because she didn’t need all the testing I was offered. We will continue to go here.

Horrible experience! Brought my cat in to get looked at after he had gotten attacked by another cat and had an small wound (stopped bleeding) so I wanted to just have it cleaned up to make sure it wouldn’t get infected and the veterinarian hardly looked at it or ask any question to how it happened, honestly seemed to not really care at all and then wouldn’t do anything else without sedating my cat to which I said no. Then proceeded to try and persuade me into the sedation which would have cost me around $400 for a minor cut that was not infected. Went to another hospital after this and they washed his wound without any sedation and only cost me around $80 and my cat is feeling better already.

I have had good experiences here with the 2 male vets and then a new lady vet came on site. My pomeranian had 2 puppies that are 8 weeks old and they got into something toxic in my backyard. Calling at 7pm frantic as they were not responding and their heads were bobbing and eyes rolling, I called to say we were rushing in. We were told not to as they were busy! I have referred my parents, sons, and neighbors to this office. I was horrified! Luckily I found a vet that was leaving for the evening and said absolutely bring them asap. Both puppies were treated Immediately. I have transferred my pets files to this office along with my parents, sons and neighbors. Very cold. Won't be back. Pet issues aren't always by appointment! Why say your OPEN if your not! Bye ????

I took my cat to this clinic to get an exam because he wasn’t eating. The vet hardly examined him at all and told us he wasn’t eating because he was being picky. He didn’t do or suggest blood work or anything else to ensure our cat was ok. We trusted his diagnosis but our cat was still not getting better so we took him to another clinic. The vet examined our cat told us he had a mass the size of a small orange in his stomach and that we should do blood work and an X-ray. The X-ray confirmed the mass and the blood work showed our cat was in stage 4 kidney failure the reason he wasn’t eating. Sadly our cat is no longer with us. I wish the vet at family vet would have done a proper exam on my cat. Maybe he still would be alive. Shame on you.

Staff were friendly, helpful and very understanding .The vet listened and was very informative on what course of action should be taken and options . The price was by far lower then any other clinics and when i realized i didnt have enough to cover the entire perscription rather then billing me which i didnt want they broke the perscription down to weekly so i could afford it. My dog was nervous but the staff were caring n gentle. I will definitely be coming back for great & affordable service . I would recommend it to friends.

Experience was quick, to the point and cold...my puppy needed his anal glands expressed, not a pleasant experience by any means I'm sure. Receptionist didn't smile once, say hello, or offer any expressions whatsoever (possible robot). Filled out a form and was quickly ushered into a waiting room. Vet came in, asked the problem, lubed up and 'expressed' his anal glands in record time. Pretty gross and very discomforting to my pup. Vet didn't even pet my dog once or offer a nice word. Gave him an antihistamine shot and then ushered me to the counter to pay. Was given my 68$ invoice and left promptly. I don't mind the express service, in fact it can be rather nice at times. I do believe a little kindness, compassion and overall customer service is something that should be necessary in this kind of a workplace. I would gladly pay a bit more for better care, or at least the pretense, that they do truly care about my pets well being. Would not go back unless there was an absolute emergency and my car happens to break down Across the street from their clinic.

I Booked an appointment with my puppy here because I knew he needed to see a vet ASAP and they were able to get me in that day, which no other vet in Chilliwack was able to do. When we arrived they were so kind and loving to him, I knew right away we were in the right place. We went in because he suddenly had a giant lump on his side and he was starting to act lethargic, so as a pet owner I was very anxious to find out what was wrong. As soon as Dr.Grewal looked at the lump he knew it was an abscess, and he drained it immediately. Our pup had a very high fever as well so draining the abscess and giving him antibiotics/anti-inflammatory as soon as possible was crucial to his health. We were there roughly one hour, they allowed us to stay longer than the appointment and urged us to come back right away (even if they were busy all day) if his condition worsened. They truly cared about me and my puppy. I get very light headed with blood etc. and I had to leave the room when they were draining the abscess. Dr.Grewal made sure I was doing OK and reassured me that my pup was going to be just fine. His temperature went down within the hour we were there, and by the time we got home he was already looking more like himself. By far exceptional service, and Dr.Grewals knowlege of 30+ years definitely showed. I also must say the price point was extraordinary, I expected the visit to be triple what we were charged. Very, very happy I found them and will not go anywhere else.

I have been seeing the Doctors at the clinic for 7 years since I moved here and have nothing but excellent excellent service and results from the clinic. The staff have been very accommodating as my animals are indoor outdoor cats and have had some serious injuries requiring many surgeries and overnight to week long stays. They have always healed perfectly and yes the clinic may have a medical smell but I am a Doctor also and know of the difficulty of maintaining an aseptic area when animals are involved so find that a small issue as tells us are doing what they need to keeping the clinic clean. As for comments on demeanour of the Doctors that is simply their personality, as have gotten to know them and are personable and knowledgeable, and simply do what needs to be done. I have zero reservations on anyone wanting to attend the clinic and this is my very first posting on any media as feel since been treating patients myself for over 25 years, have a good understanding of how important relationships are in medicine. Thank you for all your excellent attentive care to my pets.

My spouse brought in his cat due to the cat having urinary tract issues. The vet mentioned passingly that the kidneys were "slightly enlarged", but when asked if it was something of concern, dismissed it. The vet prescribed Clavaseptin without mentioning the side effects. One such side effect is renal failure for cats. The cats symptoms continued to progress. On day 6 of being on the medication, the cat was brought in once again, and the owner insisted on bloodwork. Initially, the owner was told that they would know the results of the bloodwork the next day within 24 hours, and that they would call the owner. They neglected to call the owner, and the bloodwork took 2 days total. Meanwhile, the cat was in extreme discomfort and pain. The results of the bloodwork was renal failure, and the vet insisted that with a treatment that would cost 600 dollars, the cat "might have a chance." After researching renal failure and getting second opinions from other vets, it was discovered that nothing can actually stop renal failure at that stage. The vet at Family Pet hospital was simply trying to gain more money off of the owner on false promises. The cat, who initially had only minor urinary tract issues and "slightly enlarged" kidneys, passed away 10 days after the initial treatments, from a complication which was a known side effect of the prescription.

My cat was bitten by a dog on her rear end, she was bleeding a little but walking around acting normal, took her to Family Pet Hospital and they said they would stitch her up. My husband received a phone call an hour or so later and they said he needed to come right away, (I was at work in Abbotsford) so when he got there our kitty was laying on the operating table, completely paralyzed from the waist down, they said she had suffered paralysis and needed to be euthanized. My husband didnt know what to do so reluctantly agreed to have her euthanized under the doctors orders. Whatever they did to her caused this paralysis.. I have spoken to other people now where the same thing has happened at this clinic to their pet.. do NOT.. trust them.

Called on a Sunday night to take my German Shepherd in who had an infection from a cat bite. Called ahead and was told they were open until 11. So I drive over and the place is lit up like a Christmas tree with the front doors locked. Ended up standing there for 25 minutes banging on the glass with no sign of life. There is a number listed on the door for Abbotsford so I call to see if they have any info for what’s going on. Their answer (paraphrased) was ‘Yeah, we get calls every week for this. Don’t know what their deal is, not very reliable for evening emergencies’. Never did get ahold of anyone, no signs and they knew I was coming.

There are no words great enough to express my gratitude to Dr. Kulvinder Grewal and his staff at Family Pet Hospital for saving my dog's life. My dog was throwing up blood at home when I realized she'd eaten a steel wool pad. I rushed her in and they had to perform emergency surgery. She is a tiny Pomeranian and the odds were not in her favour. But with their skill and expertice, she pulled through and seems to have no idea how closely she brushed with death. The team at Family Pet Hospital were compassionate, kind, informative, and most importantly, showed much patience for my many questions and concerns. My dog is my child, and to know that she was in good hands is all a pet-parent can hope for whilst feeling completely helpless when your pet is sick. Worst experience ever. Took cat in because he was vomiting and not eating. They took xrays before even telling us the cost - kept him for two days on IV and wanted to have blood work done as well... They then called after two days and said he was going to die if he didn't have expensive surgery to remove a minor blockage in his intestines ($1200). They told me my only options were to either put him down or to do the surgery. Against their recommendations, I took the cat home and nursed him back to health. Three days later - no surgery - my cat is as healthy as can be. Do not take your beloved pet here...

Told them our cats back was bothering him so they felt his stomach and said hes constipated and has a fever. Didnt examine his back at all. He pooped and his fever went away so we thought all was well but now our cat has an absess so bad that his skin is decaying from being unnoticed for the past week. They wanted 580 dollars just to put him on IVs to hydrate him due to not eating or drinking because of his fever. This wouldnt have even fixed the problem that they somehow couldnt notice. Took him to cottonwood vet and I am only paying 800 dollars for IVs, a major surgery, anaesthetic, antibiotics and many other things that are needed for the issue he has due to Family Pets lack of knowledge and caring. Go to cottonwood vet! Do not go here. They do not care about pets.

I am not even a client at this pet hospital and they got me in within two hours of calling and talking to reception.. on a Sunday. My cat had a urinary obstruction and was still under the weather a couple days after he was discharged. The vet was super reassuring, kind, and only did what was needed (no surprises charges). I also found his fee was half the price of our normal vets. I would highly recommend this place. ( I also never right reviews unless I’m really impressed).

I brought my older cat in because she had suddenly become paralyzed in her hind legs. They squeezed me in before closing. All the staff were very kind. The vet was very clear and honest about my cats condition. She gave us a few possible treatment considerations but was very factual about my cats pain and suffering because of her stroke. I never once felt rushed or pushed to make a decision even though the clinic had gone past operating hours. In the end I decided to humanely euthanize my cat. At which time the vet and staff were super considerate to my feelings. They were calm, professional and made this procedure as easiy as possible for my beautiful kitty. I will definitely go back to Family Pet Hospital in the future.

100% do not recommend this vet. We brought our dog here FOUR times for the same issue every single time we said this is our ___ time coming for this and they act like they have never seen us. Just kept giving antibiotics. Finally told us we NEED to do a full body x-ray which gave us zero information... and was not needed. When we said “ this is our 4th time here, a $900 bill and we still know nothing” they act surprised we have been four times.. and let us know its “ just hereditary problems” once the $900 scan is finished. “ to know anything more we have to do more specialty scans” contradict themselves beyond belief and I dont know how you dont know we have been 4 times within 6 months when its all recorded. DO NOT GO HERE THEY JUST WANT MONEY. Will never return and will be telling EVERYONE.

I'm very appreciated for all works that they have done to my kitten and my puppy. Recently, my 5 months old kitten diagnosed with Acute Kidney Failure. He was really in a bad condition and we thought that we might lose him. The doctors and staffs tried their best to save him and I'm very thankful for that. They were professional but still another vet who wont do any testing to care about finding what's really wrong! Had to ask for a blood test because I wasn't going home without answers! Who goes home knowing something is wrong but a dr says nothing's wrong? They did everything in front of me which made me feel safe, then they took her out of the room to take blood? Did they really take her blood? I dont see a spot on her were a needle would have been? So not trustings my vets, this is number 4 ????
