Just starting coming here in September and I absolutely love it. It’s a small pet hospital but they definitely are not missing anything. The staff are so amazing, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Katz is awesome and she really cares about the pets. She’s also very thorough with her exams, and informs owners about what she’s doing & why. When she suggests treatment she also gives reasons behind why she recommends them and really helps you to understand more about what’s best for your pet which I really appreciate. Even with Covid they have been able to provide excellent service despite the difficulties with distancing and new and ever changing protocols. I love it here & my pets do too!

I came to Clayburn Pet Hospital due to an Emergency but it was a day when they were closed. I talked with someone outside who tried to contact the vet, but was unsuccessful. I went home still full of concern. Only 10 minutes after I left, the veterinarian phoned me telling to come back as she would meet me at office. After being a tremendous help and fixing the injury to my dog, I was really overwhelmed with the sincere concern that was evident. Also the cost was very modest, so I highly recommend their services to all!

No other vet will do for any animal I own now and in the future. Dr Katz is very compassionate, knowledgeable and up to date on new therapies and treatments. She explains procedures, treatments and potential outcomes clearly and honestly. Sometimes the appointments run behind if an emergency comes in, but its totally worth the wait - if it was my pet having the emergency I would be so relieved to be receiving that care!

The vet was nice, and all but she didn't ask me permission to give my dog treats she just assumed she could, and she ran a few tests and did injections with out telling me she was going to , and I ended up paying for all of it. Which is understandable I would have to pay for tests and injections, but I would like to know costs and the reasons why she decided to do that. Another thing I didn't like was my appointment was at 5:30 and I didn't get in until 7 it was a very long waiting time by the end of appointment it was close to 9. I just had a bad experience with her; it could have been just me, but I won't go back.

I met Katz last night in a emergency situation with my seriously ill 15 year old dog. She was very professional and explained everything in detail. She did everything she could to save my dogs life not only did she open up her clinic on a Sunday but she stayed until 9pm giving my dog the fluids she needed. I’ve previously reviewed Clayburn Pet Hospital & Dr. Katz Pillar (hope I’ve spelled her name correctly), back in January, when Lucie was a new patient. I’m happy to review again after nearly 1/2 year of seeing her. Lucie is a rescue from Mexico. She is a beautiful little soul—hard to imagine a more perfect dog. However, we knew when we got her that there would likely be lifelong health issues due to the ehrlichiosis infection she had—perhaps since birth—and was treated for at the rescue centre in Mexico. From the time she came to live with us 2.5 years ago, we had Lucie to three different veterinarians before Dr. Katz, all with similar results: blood tests confirmed elevated liver enzymes; no follow up treatment suggested; no further digging into other possible issues. Then, in December, we moved again, and I started looking for a vet in the area. I came across Dr. Katz, with her 5 star reviews. Thank God—I’m so grateful people took the time to write about Dr. Katz’ incredible care. I knew from reading other people’s experiences with her, that she was the vet for Lucie. We’ve been seeing her for Lucie’s issues ever since. Dr. Katz confirmed the (very highly) elevated liver enzyme, then followed with a liver function test, then prescribed both a supplement and medication. Four weeks later, Lucie’s liver enzyme was in the normal range! I noticed Lucie was having gut & itchy, flaky skin issues though, so Dr. Katz prescribed a medicated shampoo, which has helped quite a lot, and she did a poop test, from which she discovered that Lucie has dysbiosis (which makes sense, given that she’d had to be on heavy duty antibiotics for an extended time to get rid of the ehrlichia). We’ve had dog-kids before Lucie, and it’s been my experience that this isn’t often something that a vet (or your family doctor!) considers. Years ago, I strongly suspected that one of our fur babies (who passed away three years ago), had this issue, but none of her vets pursued it. And up until Dr. Katz, neither did Lucie’s previous vets. (I should note that I had asked about the possibility to other vets, but gave up when they dismissed the idea. But Dr. Katz checked it out without any prompting from me, and found that Lucie’s gut bacteria ratio was completely reversed. This issue can certainly affect the health and well-being of any animal, humans included, and I look forward to seeing the results of her treatment. Will update later.) This morning, I thought I must have gotten the days of the week mixed up when Dr. Katz phoned me ON HER DAY OFF (!!) to give me the results of blood tests & the poop test, and to arrange to leave the medication for me. But it’s definitely Thursday today, her day off, and Dr. Katz is STILL thinking about and caring for her fuzzy patients. She goes ABOVE and BEYOND for them. She’s even contacting the author of the pet cookbook I bought at the office, to ask her if she has any specific ideas for a liver support diet! My only regret when it comes to Dr. Katz, is that we didn’t know of her when we first got Lucie, or when our other three triplets were alive. I have no doubt the triplets would have lived out their full lifespans under her care. Dr. Katz is beyond compare. She is absolutely amazing in her knowledge, and her care and compassion for her patients.

I took my dog in today after a suspected seizure and the staff were so wonderful and thorough. I never though my large and usually anxious Weimaraner would tolerate x-rays in awkward positions with no sedation but it was a joy to see him so calm with the vet and tech who soothed him and were never frustrated. Dr Katz and team squeezed my dog in late in the day on a weekend and stayed open late to make sure he was ok, called the next day to check in. She took her time and did a very thorough exam and looked at my dog as a whole and didn’t just treat the symptoms. A very caring and compassionate group of professionals. I came to the clinic as a new resident to Abbotsford and in crisis with our older dog whom we believed had had a stroke in the night. I was seen promptly - offered amazing support - guiding through all the possibilities - given choices around next steps without the high pressure and guilt often associated with vets for not ordering every test possible. Their approach with our dog, Blake was gentle and thorough. There was follow up the same day and the following day to see how he was managing and if the symptoms had changed or improved. My puppy was 7-8months old when he went in, so you can imagine how scared he was! Dr. Katz is awesome, I really liked how welcoming and the time spent to make lil Tyson comfortable before she went ahead to do a full check up on him. I had a great experience. I have never had an experience like that, a lot of the time, with other vets I feel the anxiety and it has a huge reflection on how the DR is like with my other dogs before. It really made me realize that in the past they just try to rush through everything which leaves my dog hating going to the vet every time . Dr. Katz really takes the time to really get to common ground before she gets to the nitty gritty with my pup. We also looked through a microscope together, Tyson’s ears had build up and yeast starting to develop and she spent the time to explain to me. I took my 1 year old Portie in for a spaying recently. I was lucky to get a behind the scene look at what is involved in the procedure. As a healthcare professional, I was impressed to see next to no bleeding with the use of the laser during surgery. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a vet that is not only great at their job but is there to help and give your pet the best start and chance at life, from wherever they might come from. I’ve heard in the past that some treatments they offer can be pricy, but I can assure you that every penny is worth it when it comes to this vet hospital.

I’ve never been to a more professional, informative vet in my life. We took our 11.5 week old puppy Debbie in for vaccines and a health check, Dr Katz and her staff are extremely welcoming and kind. Dr Katz spent a solid 45 minutes with us going through vaccinations, giving us puppy tips and tricks and walking us through best practices. Two emergencies came in during our appointment and hearing Dr Katz talk about the animals in care solidified my feelings in the choice we’ve made for our new forever vet. I started bringing my Rotti to Dr. Katz after seeing the compassion with which she treated my Dad's senior Great Dane that I was dog sitting. My Rotti is always nervous with strangers - so much so that our last vet was never able to properly examine her ears. Therefore the dog had what was called a recurring infection, although in fact it probably was just never fully cured! Dr. Katz took the time to let my dog gain her trust, and was able to completely treat the infection. Dr. Katz takes the time to make sure the pets' needs are understood. She explains things so you know how best to treat the animal. She does not just sell the drugs/treatment and send you away - she makes sure the treatment will be effective. I cannot believe how happy and excited my Rotti gets when we pull up to the Clayburn vet's office! She's gone from a dog who was nervous to meet a new vet, to giving the vet kisses!

Without a doubt the best vet I have been to and in the eight months I've had my little rescue pup I've been to a few. Needed a emergency visit on a Friday evening and Clayburn was the only one that would see my little guy. Even the other vet's that have treated my pup in the past turned me down. It was also nice to have them take the time to explain everything that was happening with my dog. On a last minute emergency call/drop in she spent 1.75 hours tending to my pup & the care she gave him was heart warming. I'm sure like everyone else you are nervous wondering what the bill will be when you are done & for the first time I was surprised that it was so reasonable. While I have no doubt the staff are capable and truly care about the animals that come through, I cannot in good conscience give this place a good review. We live in the area, and some time ago when my mom was running past in one of her usual routes, the woman who runs this place came out with her big dog off-leash, which is fine... except that when my mom - who is afraid of dogs after having been attacked by one in the past - asked if the dog was friendly, the woman did not answer. Instead, she used the dog as intimidation while demanding to know what my mom's business was in the area, telling her that it is a private area. It wasn't until a customer pulled up to the shop that her expression changed and she became friendly and cheerful, calling the dog back to herself. This is not something that ANYONE should ever do. It traumatized my mother. Needless to say, we never took our cats here ever again. I don't trust someone who would do that with my animals. The rest of the staff are likely extremely LOVELY people. I'm sure they do good work. Just want people to be sure they know a larger picture about where they are taking members of their families, though.

I am new around here and was referred to this vet by a friend who has a dog with severe issues that no one could figure out until he went here. My needs weren't as great, but needed a female vet that could be patient with my timid older dog that has issues with men and is very wary of strangers. After explaining this, they were very accommodating and even tho she was running short on time due to other appointments, she realized the need to go slow to make him more comfortable and this alone would be reason enough to make her his new vet. He has arthritis and fading vision and with his temperament it's hard to find a good, patient vet that will treat the animal as a whole and not just symptoms. Her holistic approach to his issues is exactly what I'm needing and her suggestions for helping me find a good balanced home made diet are extremely helpful, as I have been wanting to transition to this but just unsure about the vitamin and supplement ratio for what foods to give him. Overall it was an excellent first visit and her attention and caring for her patients is very hard to find these so I'm very glad to have found her. Dr. Katz was excellent, as well as Brittney! She was very helpful when setting up the appointment and ensuring they would have his prescription ordered, and was very friendly and welcoming for me and my baby. Cannot say enough good things about this crew and look forward to working with them in the future!

We recently lost our beloved Lululemon -Yorkie mix She had an unexpected seizure and I had called Dr Katz on her cell phone. She rushed back on a Friday night to meet me at her clinic. There wasn’t anything she could do, it was in Gods hands, and we lost Lululemon. I was heartbroken, my family was broken hearted ! Dr Katz held me as I cried. Who does that ? A compassionate human being who happens to be a Dr of pet medicine and In my opinion the best in her field! When I picked up Lulu’s ashes and paw print a week later , I was met again with a hug from Dr Katz and cards from her clinic signed by her staff and a beautiful poem I think she wrote. The company that she deals with that does the cremation of our loved pet was also professional provided certificate in a nice card and a very nice urn. No one wants to endure this loss and pain. But when you get past the grief and remember the DR Hugged you thru your tears and took the time to talk to you,... this women is a saint and and the best Dr for pets! Kind of makes you wish she was a human Dr. Thank you Dr Katz Pillar for all you did for Lululemon. Should I ever become brave enough to raise and love another pup I will make sure your her DR. She has saved my 3.5yr old cat Velcro 2x in the past 3yrs & most recently has aided us dramatically with our 15yr Huntaway, Roxy. My parents were clients until their dog passed & my father in-law is a current client. Her facilities are well equipped & she has u present in everything she is doing. She doesn't rush her examines nor pushes u to make haste decisions. She devotes her time to her patients thus unexpectedly can run behind - wouldn't want it any other way!! Dr Katz is by far the best vet I've ever dealt with.

I am very happy with this clinic and vet they take their time to get to know your pet so that they are not afraid of the vet . My dog scratches at the door to get into the vet . Not even exaggerating he lives it their . ????????
