Dr. Hofs is an old school country doctor that doesn't charge an arm and a leg to see your pet. That being said, be aware he is not as thorough as other vets and if you want testing done before surgery to insure your pet is well enough for that surgery, make sure you ask. Even then, the tests don't cost as much as at other clinics I have recently updated my review. Dr. Hofs did not educate me on the severity of my dog's heart murmur or the dangers that can present for surgery. Yet he went ahead and did dental surgery anyway. Had I not requested blood tests, those wouldn't have been done either and under the circumstances are a necessity (due to the heart murmur). The dental surgery was not done completely as they overlooked several abscessed teeth which have affected her negatively since. Unfortunately, with the progression of her heart issues, she can now no longer tolerate anesthesia and can not have those teeth attended to as they should have been in the first place. Cheap isn't always better. Sometimes the extra expense and thoroughness is far more beneficial.

My family has been going to Dr. Hofs for our animal health care for generations. Now, today i called to make an appointment for my dog, and was very disappointed. The young girl on the phone was nice and friendly right up till the end of the phone call, she told me that the other day when my husband went in to pick up dog food that he refused to sign his name and give his phone number, for "Contact Tracing", which is useless as they already have our information! He was in there for 30 seconds and was wearing a mask. She proceeded to tell me that if he was to come back he would have to give this information... even though we are clients and they already have all the information in their appointment system on their computer! At first i didn't think to much about it, but when i called back to tell them i was cancelling my appointment and going with another vet so i could have my dog looked at sooner she snapped at me quickly cutting me off saying thank and goodbye and hanging up on me! So from now on we will be using another vet, which is a shame because we love Dr. Hofs as a vet and was planning on staying with him until he retired.

He is very straightforward in his explanations and prompt in his appointments. His staff are so incredibly supportive and proactive with keeping pet info up to date, and experts at handling nervous or energetic pets. 10/10 glad to take my fur babies here.

LOVE this clinic!! However the lady at the front desk….. is another story out of the two she is the younger one. And I am not the type to complain but in this circumstance it’s worth it too, I called regarding a question about my dog and she did not know how to answer so I asked if I should book an appointment and she responded with “ well isn’t that why you called” I find this in no way help to my question and then booked an appointment. At the appointment I went ti go complain to the head vet but she was a completely different person.

This vet is definitely old school, the place smelled awful. Vet had no idea what ingredients are in the vaccines he gives out? Went to new place it smelled great and vet knew what side effects were possible such as seizures and so on and knew exactly what is in them. Time to retire the old ways.

Love this vet so much they really do care about our 4 legged friends so much. I take my parents puppy there and my kitten and theyre always so loving towards them. I recently just got my kitten spayed there and I just thought it was very sweet that when the lady at the counter was grabbing bubbles to give her back she took the time to cuddle with her for a bit before handing her over. It's nice knowing I can trust people with my fur baby and know they're well taken care of.

I went with a friend to assist him with his pup. For whatever reason dog doesn't like the vet. I was the dogs groomer. The dog was very aggressive towards the vet. In the 14 years that l groomed him dog was NEVER aggressive with me. So l figured l could assist the owner. I was very surprised at the dogs complete change of character. So, l just kept whisperring into the dogs ear. After a split second the dog calmed right down. As far as l am concerned, Dr. Hofts is a super Vet. Kind caring patience & seems very devoted to his 4 legged clients. As well as his staff members. I would highly recommend this Vet.
