I love coming into Townline. I have two large dogs and came here from another local animal hospital. One dog needed surgery and the other has had some nail issues. I have felt welcomed, well informed and as though every option has been presented to me in every visit. The staff are caring and it doesn't feel like there is a revolving door of pets that they are trying to fly through. I can't say enough good things!

My family and I have been coming here since they've opened, about 3 years now. We have three dogs, and gotten all our dogs shots and basic health maintenance done through this facility. We brought a serious matter to their attention concerning our senior dog; He gave her antibiotics for possible sinus problems and we were going to see how they would help her. Our dog Ginger took a drastic turn for the worse. In four days, from looking slightly sick (nose bleed,stuffy nose) to being on deaths doorstep. (Unable to breath, eyes swollen, bleeding from multiple locations, etc) We brought her back in to see why she was doing so poorly and he said she had brain tumours and needed to be put down, that same night. ( he even was showing my parents the different urns and memorabilia you can get for your diseased dog) My dad wanted my sister and I to be able to say goodbye to our childhood pet, so he took her home and scheduled the euthanization appointment for the following day at 5pm. My sister took the day off and I left work early so we could spend time with our dog, preparing to say goodbye. My father comes home saying he would like to get a second opinion from another vet as a friend recommended it. (Since all these new problems sound like side effects/reactions to the antibiotics) As soon as we brought her there (Cambridge Animal Hospital), the vets there were so different, so professional and caring. They offered options such as, X-ray, bloodwork, gave her steroids and morphine. They have been monitoring her and she is improving, she may have underlying problems but atleast they are trying to maintain her way of life and diagnose her. We had no problem spending money on getting these tests done for her as she's never had health issues before. Yeah, we're not going to spend thousands on CT scans to clarify she has cancer which we stated to the original vet. But he didn't even offer X-ray or blood work or anything to find out any problems, prob since he doesnt offer it at his facility. It's as if he would rather make money on our dog being put down rather then actually helping us and referring us to someone who could help or provide more for us. I'm just appalled and figured I had to write an extensive explanation to why my rating is the way it is, to save you all the heart ache and torment my family had gone through.

Dr. Waddell is a FANTASTIC doctor. He really cares about our four legged family members and us. He has a true love for the animals and it shows. He doesn't suggest any unnecessary treatments or medication, which is an added bonus as vet bills can get pricey! Our dog was hit by a car and we rushed him to the clinic 10 minutes before closing, without an appointment. Dr. Waddell agreed to see our dog, if he hadn't he would have died from bleeding in a short amount of time. He gave us options including removing his leg advising many dogs function just fine on three legs. He did the surgery right away and saved his life. It's less than a week and our dog is doing amazing. He can run fast, he is happy and acting normally. Great advice and knowledge!

This place is great! Dr. Waddell took the time to explain any and all possible outcomes with our new Rottweiler (Good and Bad) and even explained which drug brands he preferred for vaccinations and why. He gave us plenty of information and was not biased towards the products he carried in his office. He told us what would be beneficial and what he thought would be most cost effective and helped us come up with a great schedule for our new puppy. We somehow managed to be the last appointment of the day and he did not rush us and took his time to explain and gave us more than enough time to ask questions and he did not rush his answers. Editing review from 5 stars to 4 star. Reception has been rude to me on more than one occasion on the phone (cutting me off, clearly not wanting to talk to me etc.), which is disappointing. I am always polite and courteous, I don't feel I deserve the rudeness. If you're too busy to answer the phone don't answer it. As simple as that. I don't know when you're in surgery, and you shouldn't be rude to me that you are in surgery and can't address my problem. It has become unpleasant and even anxiety inducing to call or go there. I am honestly thinking of changing vet just because of reception. I am tired of feeling like this whenever I call. I get that you're busy but keep it together, don't take out your frustration on me. The doctor is great though. Although sometimes he seems extremely busy, and you feel like an annoyance. I spend a lot of money there and it is extremely frustrating to be treated like this. Disappointing.

I have been a satisfied client of Townline Animal Hospital since 2010. Dr. Kevin Waddell is one of those vets who still remembers why he went to veterinary school: FOR THE LOVE OF ANIMALS. I never doubt that the advice he offers is in the animal's best interest, not simply a business decision for his own benefit. I would highly recommend this clinic for various reasons. Firstly, Dr. Waddell takes a twenty-first century approach to customer service. I get email reminders for vaccinations and upcoming appointments. I get additional information about the diagnosis following the visit, also by email. If I have a question, I feel comfortable sending my vet an email and confident that I'll get an appropriate response within minutes or hours. How many other professionals do this? Secondly, Dr. Waddell takes a kind-hearted approach to the treatment of the animals in his care. What do I mean by this? When I contacted him about performing a spay operation on a barn cat that I wanted to save, he, without prompting, offered to provide vaccinations to this animal at his own expense. I was impressed by this action, and I'm not sure that all vets would have been so charitable in offering this service/product. Finally, Dr. Waddell seems truly excited by what he does. He isn't simply going through the motions. Far from it! He seems to take great interest in every dog and cat that I have taken to his clinic. The initial examination he performed on my dog was more thorough than I had ever received from another veterinarian. I got a full summary of my dog's physical condition and potential services he might need down the road so that I could plan and prepare for them. Good service! For these reasons, I highly recommend #TownlineAnimalHospital as a clinic that offers superior care, compassion, and expertise.

I have been taking my dog to Townline Animal Hospital for nearly 8 years. I have always liked Dr Waddell and had recommended him to everyone including my sister. My sister had found a very tiny kitten in a dumpster January 7th 2020. He was so small not even 4 pounds. Due to coronavirus closures we couldn’t get him in for a veterinary check up. This past Tuesday June 16th she dropped him off to get neutered. To our disbelief my sister got a call that the cat had already been fixed and microchipped. Legally they had to contact the person who registered the cat. As if that is not traumatic enough we never saw the cat again. They did not give any actual proof of the chip nor did they even have the decency to tell us what happened to the cat. Was he returned? Was he safe? Was he given to a shelter when he had a loving home? We have no idea. They told my sister she couldn’t have her cat carrier until Friday the 19th. Well if we don’t get the cat give us the carrier back. Then they told her she had to wait until Monday June 22nd. Finally I called and a rude woman on the other end tell me my sister could pick up the carrier. They were just “busy”. It’s not enough that my nieces have cried themselves to sleep every night not knowing what actually became of their beloved kitten but the fact that this whole sad situation was handled so poorly. There was absolutely no care, concern or compassion shown what so ever. The staff were extremely rude. I chose and recommend this Vet for years. I am beyond disappointed with how this situation was handled. I will never return.

Dr. Waddell and staff are great to deal with at Townline Animal Hospital. I started bringing my dog in about a year ago and she has had a number of health issues over her 5 years. Dr. Waddell wanted to get a hold of her past records from other vets. What impressed me more was that he actually took the time to read through all 50+ pages of it. Then he offered to send it to me as an attachment in an email so that I had it electronically as well! Awesome. He's very thorough with examinations and explains everything as he goes. He lets me know about the pros and cons of treatments and keeps me informed on details of pricing (which seem very fair...and I've been to many vets!) I'm really happy to have found such a great vet in Cambridge. They are actually located on the exact opposite end of town from where I live, but the extra 20 minute drive is well worth it.

Do not return calls, to assist with transfer from another vet service. Expect understanding for their cancelations. Do not accept late arrival 10 min. Did not ask for reason before being late before cancelling. Tried to rebook told computer was down and would call back. They did not when I phoned they told me I would not be accepted as a client. Great place to take your pet! We are a new client and this clinic comes highly recommended from people who live in Cambridge. Dr. Kevin and his staff have been looking after our two dogs, DaiNi and Kaylie, and in some sense our family for many years and through some challenging times. Always with aN amazing but not surprising sense of caring, purpose and professionalism one seldom sees today in many professions. Sadly that relationship ended yesterday “for now” with the passing of The last of two amazing dogs at 14 years of age. His guidance and sense of caring made the last several weeks more manageable and for that we are truly grateful. Dr.Kevin and team saved my dogs life. We were getting the run around from another Vet and got nowhere. My dog didn’t eat for two weeks and we knew that there had to be something seriously wrong. We had the works done on her from blood work to x rays. Multiple visits to tell us that they don’t know what is going on and just try to force food. They just didn’t get it that she wasn’t eating and even when she had a nibble she would throw up. I had enough and called Dr. Kevin and his team got her file from the other vet. He took a look and took my dog in right away. He did his exam and knew that he would have to do surgery. He is great, he quoted me right away and gave me options. It’s only been a day and my dog is eating, cuddling and is becoming herself again. I can’t thank this vet enough, he saved a family member
