Friendly staff and Doctors, but I can't bring my dog back here for one simple reason. Last year I brought my dog in and he was prescribed heartworm medication in which I decided I wanted to forego the "recommended" blood testing and there were no issues, I was not told of any risks of doing so etc. However, this year I requested the same thing. Heartworm medication, without the blood-test... This time, however, apparently it is not recommended due to possible "Heart Issues/ Allergic Reaction" etc. Apparently there could be serious complications from this I was told.... My issue is that last year this same veterinary clinic DID prescribe this exact same medication and didn't notify me at ALL that there could have been a reaction and that my dog could have serious issues with his heart if he takes the medication without screening him via a blood-test. In summation, my dog's heart health was put at risk last year without my knowledge because, at the time, the doctor at this clinic made NO mention of "serious heart issues" or anything of that nature other than to say that they "recommended" my dog have a blood test.

Best veterinary practice I've ever been to. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Steckle delivered the best care my late cat Ollie has ever received. Unlike my experiences with Toronto vets, I never had the sense that any unnecessary tests or treatment were being recommended. And after I made the difficult decision to euthanize "my son" after a very long 18 years of friendship, Galt Animal Hospital both sent me a card and made a generous donation to the Ontario Veterinary College's "Pet Trust" in Ollie's name. Can't say enough good about these folks.

I moved to Cambridge and was looking for someplace to to bring my cat with severe separation anxiety during COVID and I brought him here. He’s a big boy and he’s skittish, but the vet was amazing with him. They gave him Gabapentin to relax him and we’re so sweet and calming. They eased all my anxiety about the vet. I high recommend this place for any of your pets.

Vets are nice but it is hard to give a detailed view of this place due to CoVid u have to call and they come out and get your pet. So l have only been there once inside. So for now l will give a five, but can't give much info from the parking lot.

My family has been coming to Dr. Jacqui since we got our first family dog, Mac in 1999. 20 years later she is still the only vet I trust my dogs with! Having gotten my own dog Penny last year, I immediately knew where I'd be taking her! Dr. Jacqui's knowledge of animals is just as deep as her love for them. Her staff are all incredibly friendly and caring as well. I know any future dogs I own will be coming to see her too!

Hello! Dr. Jane Steckle has been a FANTASTIC vet for our Golden Retriever! She has been gentle and caring with our dog, thorough in her examinations, and very informative with us. Bentley LOVES going to see Dr. Steckle, and actually jumps out of our van and runs to the door of the clinic! Wow! Dr. Steckle has explained all of the options regarding care, special vaccinations against Lyme Disease, and has our dog on regular heartworm treatments. We are very very happy with Dr. Steckle, and all of the staff. The clinic facilities are great, with an on site lab, and lots of free parking. Highly recommended!

One of the best clinics in Cambridge. We took our 11 year old bulldog Einstein here for a second opinion and had a wonderful outcome. His original Vet was instructing us that euthanizing him would be the best choice without running any tests. Galt Animal Hospital went above and beyond to get us in the morning before the other clinic booked to euthanize our baby. Long story short he never went back to the old clinic and after a simple surgical procedure our baby is at home with us. We are forever grateful and Einstein will only come here for the rest of his life.

Whoever does not give this establishment a 5 needs to comment why. I have been with Galt Animal Hospital for over 20 years. I moved from Cambridge to Kitchener and still make the choice to drive that awful drive to get to Jacqui Rideout,. I have been to 3 other vets in Kitchener and they do not come close to the personal caring that I have seen at this establishment. This is the place for your pet. My Roxie who passed away in April 2017 cried when Jacqui dared to pay attention to another animal - after all - it was all about her! To go into the many details of why I still continue to drive that awful stretch of the 401 to bring my 2 fur babies here will take too long, but the short version is : This is where you want to bring your babies - they will be loved!

I went here for my cats spay and had a great experience. My cat went into heat weeks before her spay date at my regular clinic. Not only was GAH able to fit me in much earlier, they were very helpful on the phone (answered all my questions, called after her surgery to let me know everything was okay, and called again to check up on her the next day). I really appreciate the time they took to answer my questions as I was quite nervous. My cats stitches were well done and she healed perfectly.
