I deleted my previous, slightly better review, because more issues have since come to light since I wrote it. I can't say how angry and disappointed I am that I wasted so many years and thousands of dollars here. Yes, the staff are always friendly, but the serious clinical errors, malpractice, and flat out lying is downright disturbing and I am sure illegal. You never see the same vet twice and I can guess why. The most infuriating and upsetting malpractice and lying this clinic did to my boys was to misdiagnose my cat's fatal heart condition and claim it could be improved by medication. Well this was both a misdiagnosis and a lie. I paid $$$ for a cardiologist to come to the clinic to run an ECG on my boy. They told me his condition would be improved by medication. I have new information that the cardiologist I paid $$$ for was NOT a cardiologist, and in fact a different type of vet whose scope does not include the condition my cat actually has. The misdiagnosis led me to believe my cat could be saved, which in fact he could not. They lied about the specialist they brought in, and because of their lie my cat had a huge fatal misdiagnosis. This clinic also has a highly disturbing and traumatic way of urine collection - sticking a needle directly into my cats' bladders without sedation or anesthetic to my knowledge. Another vet was shocked by this practice and we can now collect urine by taking home a non-absorbent litter for a painless and inexpensive collection. No wonder my cats are SO upset about having to go to the vet that they vomit, pee, and have diarrhea all over themselves as soon as we get in the car! This clinic also failed to diagnose one of my cat's skin disorder for 2 years. They kept prescribing antibiotics even though they admitted they had no idea what the problem was. Another vet solved the problem in a single visit. This clinic also failed to diagnose another one of my cat's chronic vomiting disorder for 7 years, just treating the issue as it happened. Another vet, again, solved the problem in a single visit and he hasn't had any vomiting in over a year. I will also add that the prices this clinic charges are RIDICULOUS, especially with the poor quality of the medical care. I am truly disgusted by this place and am looking into reporting their malpractice and lies. Do NOT take your animals here if you care about them.

Being a vet is tough during the best of time. Their patients can't explain what is wrong and their clients are stressed and nervous about their pets. Despite all of this, and despite the difficulties of treating animals during a pandemic, these guys have done an absolutely brilliant job of caring for our two dogs.

After having a few unimpressive and disappointing experiences at other vet clinics, I was thrilled with the service and my experience at this Animal Hospital of Cambridge. Dr. Anna S. is extremely knowledgeable, kind, gentle and is a fantastic veterinarian. It is clear that she actually loves and cares for animals, and demonstrates evidence of ample education and expertise that seems to be lacking where it is needed most in far too many vet clinics today. Bringing my rescue kitten for his first check-up with Dr. Anna, I observed what was a very thorough and careful examination, got to understand more about my kitten's health and condition, which treatments and doses were chosen and why, and Dr. Anna pleasantly answered all my questions in detail as well as casually informed me of many small, but key details and information that made me feel comfortable, informed and content. If this Animal Hospital of Cambridge holds all of their staff to the standard of knowledge, expertise, communication and service that I experienced with Dr. Anna, it will undoubtedly be THE animal hospital that all animal hospitals should be.

My family & I sadly had to put our beloved dog down today. The staff really was heart felt with us and asked multiple times if there's anything we needed to make it easier for us. Very educational on how the procedure works and the vet was super gentle and kind to our dog. I'm truly sad that this happened but atleast it with done with a good staff. Forgot the female vets name but thank you for helping us with that sad experience.

The Cambridge animal hospital on Hespeler Rd is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! They will let your family pet suffer for days just so they can charge you extra MONEY for an appointment to see a vet just to Prescribe the same old Medication over and over again. They dont care about animals they just care about money. They wont give me the Medication my dog needs until I pay for an exam to see the vet just so the vet can Prescribe the same Medication my dog needs for the rest of her life you would think they would just give you a refill but no way not until you pay for a visit with the vet mind you I would gladly pay the RANSOM gladly pay for the visit and medication but there all booked up and wont give your pet the medication they need for relief they just let your pet SUFFER in the name of money This place has no concern for animals just money money money.dont bring your pets here if you love animals its like paying to go to the zoo your money is helping them stay open please spend your money somewhere with compassion and a sense of community.

I have had 2 separate interactions with this hospital. The first was 10/10. I had my dog misdiagnosed by another vet and had been through a lot of pain over a series of months being reassured she would get better. Her final moments were with a very kind doctor who was able to tell us she had a different prognosis and she was euthanized. This was prior to the relocation and while I loved this vet for their empathy and the fact they accepted us late in the night, I had a very unfortunate experience with my second interaction. They lied to us about fostering a set of pups and told us since we were fostering we would have a first choice on whether or not we would adopt them. They called us to the vet one day and physically took the dogs from our arms arms refused to allow us to see them and told us there is no such thing as that opportunity. The dogs were adopted out and never seen by us again. On top of that I suggest this- DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CREMATE YOUR ANIMALS!! I had a chihuahua pass away and paid for her ashes and a paw print. Heart break ensued when they informed my family that they had mass cremated her and lost her remains. Since the move of their location they have lost the empathy and care they had for animals. I do not believe this Vetrinary clinic has any remorse or love for animals. While they could be different for each family they work with, I would never and will never trust them with my fur legged friends ever again. Proceed with caution.

Do NOT call yourself an "Emergency" animal hospital when this facility is NOT open 24 hours. Be prepared to personally have to transfer your pet back and fourth to a different facility for PM service. Very inconvenient.

Never should an animal be left behind but if for some reason they need to be rehomed this place is the perfect place to start the new adventure. Girls are fantastic with the animals. Be prepared for a fairly large pricetag to adopt ..... at$1600 a pop.

It's for my cat Arya - a ragdoll cat who is over 1 year 2month old. She had difficult labour half month ago, I brought her to Animal Hospital of Cambridge. Doctor Kaitlyn said she need a surgery asap. Then she operated on her and the surgery was successful, and Arya was in good condition right after the operation. Even with the anaesthetic she can walk and eat that night when I took her home. After 3 days, she had her usual appetite back. I highly recommend the hospital, the Doctor and nurses (esp Kaitlyn ) were very professional. I would say I can totally trust her with her expertise. The surgical wound of my cat wasnt bleeding and I can tell Arya‘s condition was good after the surgery. English is not my first lauguage and I cant understand every medical terminology. However, they were very patient with me and explained the situation to me thoroughly to help me make an informed decision. The last reason I recommend this place : Price is reasonable, one time charge including inspection, antibiotics, surgical metacam, no surprise on the bill. I will highly recomment this hospital, and I will recommend this hospital to my friends and colleagues who has pet. ————————————————————————————————————————— P.S. I transferred from the Buck Animal Hospital in Waterloo. I strongly suggest dont bring you pet there. I brought Arya to Buck first, and she was about to give birth, the doctor there gave her an X-Ray and said she had 7 babies in her, all looked fine. They gave her Oxytocin, the next day 5 a.m., I found Arya was having contractions at home. I send her back to Buck hospital around 9:40 a.m. The doctor said there was a baby stuck in Arya's vagina. I agree to let her stay in hospital so the doctor can take action if necessary to help her give bither. NO phone calls till 2 p.m., I decided to call and check if Arya was OK. The doctor said no baby yet, I asked her how was Arya, then she went to check said will take her tamperature. 3 P.M., they asked me to bring Arya back, and no help during those 6 HOURS. When I brought her home, her was very weak and the baby was still stuck in her vagina. I brought her to emergency. The doctor said the baby was already dead. I felt the doctor at BUCK was very irresponsible. And in the end, all the baby was gone.

Extremely cautious of COVID-19. Wife went in with my daughter. One person per dog. We have 2 dogs. Treated extremely well and very thorough. All were satisfied with veterinarians treatment of our dogs. Will be going back for follow up. Happy knowing a trained professional is taking care of our dogs.

I have been to many vets over the years and this place is the best by far. I had an emergency with one of my cats durning a snow storm. My usual vet was not in because of this and I was directed to call the Cambridge animal hospital. They got us in right away. After the assessment it was determined that the best course of action at that time would be to put my beloved cat down. They were very Gentle with me and my cat. They had a separate room with a couch like a library where I was able to hold my cat as we put him down. A few weeks after I received a card from all the staff offering their condolences. So amazing, especially since it was my first time there. I highly suggest going to this vet. I will be changing my normal vet to the Cambridge animal hospital going forward.

The staff here are fantastic and caring. They want the upmost best experience for each animal that comes in the door. Dr. Emily has provided care to our kitty Max a handful of times and she has gave us such incredible peace of mind when he was going through a really bad time with his health. I would give them the full 5 stars, however, in August 2020 we brought our pup in for a check up and a male vet saw him. I had never met this vet before but he was assisted by a vet tech and he was extremely rude. He questioned my knowledge as a pet owner and made me feel like I didn’t know how to properly raise my dog. He also spoke to me like I didn’t know anything about taking care of an animal and made me feel really upset when I left. This is the only negative experience we have had with them thus far, and I hope to never have to deal with that vet again. If I were to see him (I do forget his name) I would request that we see another vet it was fairly unforgettable. Otherwise, the majority of the staff and vets are very approachable and are willing to educate you kindly and compassionately. They get to know your animals and you as an owner and are the best.

She is so compassionate, listens and answers any of your questions, doesn't rush you. She went above and beyond for my cat to heal my little baby as best as we can, and still trying her best. Ive been to many vets and this place definitely looks out for the health of your pet, not your money. Thank you Ellie for being so wonderful and thank you to the rest of the staff for being so compassionate especially to people during dark and stressful times. Also what an amazing thing they have is separate areas for cats and dogs, to relieve stress and the place looks and smells clean! Definitely worth the drive if you want the best care for your pet.

My dog blew his ACL. This place nearly cried saying I need surgery. I said I wanted 8 weeks to see if there was any improvement and go a natural way instead of $5000 surgery. They gave me a hard time saying he needed the surgery. Then he blew his other knee compensating (typical)Happy to report through a natural therapy that he is 100% saving me $10000. Every time we go here we get told to go to a different flea and tick the one offered today is getting dogs sick. The staff recognized this. Why give my dog something new? Then tried to say we need to treat dog through winter. Ticks don’t live in our winters !!? The vet and the people who take care of the dogs are amazing. However I wish front staff would stop up selling every chance they get. We love our pets and I feel like they are trying to take advantage of that.

It’s pretty clean and spacious I usually come here for my three dogs. Recently when I went to treat a dog’s wound on his leg, the bandage and cleaning and meds came up to around $530, which was okay. Initially they said I can re bandage him at home and was going to teach me how. However I had to come in every other day for a week and a half and they charged me every time I went in. It costs about $62 for a bandage change. Edit: they had a great follow up and taught us how to bandage the wound and sent us with some bandages.

This place is nicer then most Drs offices. I can't believe a medical center for pets like this exists. Their prices are also fare for such a nice place it feels like you are getting a deal. The office admins and staff are super friendly and the place is open nearly 24/7 (There not but close enough). Would recommend this place to anyone!

The Animal Hospital of Cambridge is the only clinic I will take my dog to. Kathy and Neil's passion for animals is not unseen. The entire staff included makes everyone and their pets feel important and takes the. Every visit you are left with every question answered and a great feeling you pet was dealt with in the most caring, compassionate and professional manner. The rescue work Kathy does is tremendous providing all types of animals a new safe and healthy start to life with warm loving homes. Had to put my 10 yr old dog down here recently. If I could give some constructive criticism here. When someone is in the room alone with their beloved pet that's just about to be euthanized and saying their goodbyes, maybe hold off on coming into the room with a debit machine asking for payment. It's just rude and insensitive. I had 3 different people come in asking me for email addresses and payment while I was saying my goodbyes to my dog. This can be done before or after. The Doctors were all great and explained everything to me but that experience was unpleasant to say the least.

Honest, respectful, pricing is on par with everywhere else, beautiful facility. We just had to put our cat down as he was very old and sick. We were told on inspection that he was dying, she presented our options, (no up selling) we made our choice, she made us feel good about our option, and the entire staff was very considerate, respectful, and empathetic. Great place to take animal. Prices seem to be the same everywhere. The entrance and separation of canine and feline sections is a great idea especially if your dog wants to chase every cat he sees. The technicians are nice and the vet explains a lot of options and choices for your pet. Did a full year of medication for my 100+ lbs dog and checkup and it was $900 for the visit. But I dont need to go back till next year.

The service here is as impeccable as the building itself. The facility is definitely magazine worthy. They have two zones a Cat zone and Dog zone. This is particularly helpful for Cats like mine who get dangerously stressed when being transported. Our Cat specific room had a TV with a video of Birds which was a great touch and provided a bit of distraction. Nothing to hide, tours are always welcome and all your questions are happily answered. You won’t regret taking any of your pets here.

I have recently started taking two of my pets to Animal Hospital of Cambridge and I have to say - they are fantastic! Not once have I felt that they pressured me into unnecessary services nor have they ever made me feel silly for asking questions about required services or medication. The animals just love all of the staff here - they're super friendly. The doctors are knowledgeable and work together seamlessly as a team. Lab results are generally turned around in 24 hours or less and nearly anything needed can be taken care of in house. To top it all off, they are open 7 days a week which is incredibly convenient when you're working M-F!

I love this animal hospital. Their facilities are always clean, their staff friendly, their service is efficient and my pets get great care. They've helped my pug through a bladder stone and eye removal operation, and stitched my shepherd's cut paw. Their vets provide thorough attention to every animal and their invoices clearly lay out prices; they don't gouge your wallet in that they provide options. They also have late hours, which is helpful, and prioritize emergency cases if needed.

I would rate a zero if i could. There is no accountability with this animal hospital. I rescued a kitten from here in which they said he previous had a chest infection but was resolved. Since having him since January, I've taken him to the vet 3 times for medication as his chest infection that hasn't gone away if not worsened. It's become very clear to me they did complete a full exam when rescuing this poor kitten which leaves me to my many vet bills involving his chest infection. After calling the animal hospital - they disregarded my feelings, and did not take any accountability for this very sick kitten that I rescued from their facility. The reasoning for not offering anything, is because I've already taken him to another vet (My home town vet) Which just makes me believe, since my money was spent elsewhere, they don't feel they need to take responsibility or assistance. I've rescued all my animals, because i'm a true believer in Adopt don't shop....and can't express my complete disgust in how this is being handled. Save your time, money and heartache and don't take your animals here. Yes its a convenient location, but taking your animals a few minutes away to another vet, it well worth it in the end.

So today my family had to say goodbye to our beloved 14 year old dog tramp. The animal hospital of Cambridge made us all comfortable, were patient with us and so so so compassionate. The vet we had even shed a tear with us, it's clear that they love animals and really care about you and your pets. They were tramps regular vet for many years as well and all I had were positive experiences. They are the only vet I trusted with my little pup and they saw his care though until the end. My dog has seizure and she needs medication. They did blood test and her doctor told me she will be in contact with me in 24 hours I wait 48 hours and I call them 5 times to tell doctor to call me about the result and medication they said she will call you shortly but she did not They don’t care about the pets they just ready to charge you for every detail and you did not get any answer or result from them. I do not recommend to anybody to go there specifically if they like their pets.

I took my dog here because he had really bad ear infections, primarily in one ear. They staff were all super nice and went above and beyond to ensure that he was comfortable and we're very understanding when he was growling from the pain. I came here for a second opinion for my young dog who is sick with liver issues. I called on a Thursday evening and got an appointment for the Saturday morning. The receptionists I spoke with were patient, kind, and helpful. We saw Dr. Kaitlyn who was so thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate, and went above and beyond with everything. The doctor addressed all of my questions and concerns and was so thorough in following up for my dog to get the help she needs. Because of Dr. Kaitlyn's commitment to the well-being of my dog, my dog has a specialist appointment within a week when we were previously rejected an appointment or given 1-2 month wait times. On top of the outstanding care given to my dog, Dr. Kaitlyn also took the time to communicate with me every step of the way. All of this was the result of a single visit. I am so impressed and grateful for my experience with Dr. Kaitlyn and the reception staff at this hospital and can confidently say I have found a new furrever vet for my pup.

The staff are amazing! What else can I say. I have been going to this clinic for about 8yrs. now. The care my toy poodle has been shown is so compassionate and loving, it helps her anxiety when she is there. The vets are knowledgeable and supportive of the emotions not only my baby, but myself as well. My toy has been a sickly pup her entire life, and I trust completely she will receive all that she needs. This clinic is not a "sell you everything!" type of place, it is "everything you need" type of place. A non profit, caring group of people @ the only place I trust my pup with. They are family!!!!

Everyone we dealt with seemed to see my pup more as a bank machine than a living being. When last I called, the receptionist made me feel as though my baby was dieing and tried to guilt me into an exobitant bill. After consulting another veteranarian, I learned that he was not dieing, but had an upset tummy. They get a 3 star because, despite my bad experience, the vets know what they are doing, the facility is equipped to handle most emergencies, and they really do care about their clients.

This is the only place we will bring our pet family. Very friendly and caring staff. Prices are reasonable too. During sad times we have gone through 2 cremations for our dogs and the staff were wonderful and understanding and showed us how amazing they are during tough times by lightning a candle in the lobby and asking the visitors to talk quietly while we were saying goodbye. This is the most professional and safe vet I have ever had for zoeé....when we moved to KW I had to find a vet because zoeé had some aniexty and skin issues plus she is an older girl....they took the time to show my husband and I the clinic and answer any questions we had....little pricey but so worth it especially for my old girl....they are amazing with her and she is very calm with everyone that has been in contact with, they take the time and educate....I love the fact its a separate entrance for cats and dogs, makes it much easier and safer.....during the pandemic they have been amazing and I'm glad we picked them!! I called at ten minutes to eight this Thursday evening to see if my weim was up to date on shots, etc. as we must kennel her and it slipped my mind that i will need proof. I live an hour away (yes its worth the occasional drive). Anyway, yes she is up to date and i had a vaccination certificate in my email and printed off in literally 17 seconds from hanging up the phone. As they say, this place is " the cat's arse". We switched to the Animal Hospital of Cambridge about a year ago and we are so glad we did. The staff are very friendly and provide you with all the options, without pressuring or guilting you into something. We have two large older dogs and unfortunately have had to make some emergency visits, but we have always been able to get an appointment within a few hours and haven't been charged any "emergency" fees. Plus we are in and out quick.

I have been coming here for years, my dog will be 5 in July and I have been bringing him here since he was 4 weeks old. Today for the first time they refused to cut his nails when he has had it done by them a dozen times... My dog gets anxious and alittle scared and they usually just muzzle him and use a few people to hold and calm him and one to cut his nails and today apparently that was too much to ask... They have tried to push medication on us to give him countless times and countless times I have told them I'm not giving him anything unless it's life or death. So today was the last straw, they refused to cut his nails unless he is doped up on drugs, so I said we would go somewhere else won't be coming back, and the doctor on the phone said that's not how they practice medicine there and pretty much hung up on me.. Not a good way to keep there's customers..

The Animal Hospital of Cambridge was the fourth vet I saw in 24 hours two days ago and after getting bounced around to so many vets I was very thankful to have ended up at this one. I'm from London and the only reason I ended up there was because I was referred to a vet in Guelph and when the vet went to do bloodwork on Charlie I guess she ran into someone who worked at The Animal Hospital of Cambridge or one of the owners. I can't remember which because they day was so packed with vet visits. But whoever it was was told about Charlie and they said I should go to The Animal Hospital of Cambridge and that they would be glad to do surgery on Charlie. My puppy Charlie swallowed something and it was lodged inside him and they were so helpful in saving him. I didn't feel like they pushed anything on me, they seemed to do only what would be beneficial to Charlie. The staff there was wonderful. From the secretaries to the vet techs and everyone in between that helped. Ultimately they removed what was stuck in Charlie and sent me home with all of the necessary food and medication I would need. They gave me a total of what I would be paying before they started anything (which is huge for me because I'm a student and don't have a lot of money to spend, and that broke my heart because every other vet said I would either have to pay $5000 or I would have to put Charlie down), and in the end they stuck to their word and charged me exactly what they said they would which was so appreciated. I feel so blessed to have been in the right place at the right time in Guelph because without that visit and the Animal Hospital of Cambridge my puppy would have died. A million thanks to everyone there who helped him.

My dog was injured and we took her here because our vent was closed the first three days were good but when we took her to get checked up, they put more tape on and some gauze. We told the vet she likes to lick the tape but they didn't listen. We barely got home and the tape immediately was off. They did nothing to stop her from Licking it like a cone

The same service that my regular vet charged 900.00 this office quoted me 3,000.00 the highest price in all of Cambrdige. I guess this would explain how they paid for the new building on Hespeler highway. Save your money folks, save your money, call around for quotes.

I've only used their services once and that was to have our dog put down. It was a Sunday and our normal vet was closed but we felt it needed to be done that day. They were able to book an appointment for the same day and it was a great experience. I've heard they are more expensive than other places but go into the building to see what you are paying for. The room is furnished to look like a living room to make the process as comfortable as possible for all involved. Our dog was not afraid in his last moments. I can compare this to an experience we had with our first dog about 10 years ago at a small clinic. Our dog was shaking as he sat on the small metal table during the euthanasia. They did offer memorial pieces before the procedure and I didn't have a problem with that as it wouldn't be appropriate for them to offer it after our animal passed. Earlier in the day we tried to create our own paw print with ink and paint but it didn't turn out well. I'm glad they offered these products. All in all it was the best experience we could have hoped for in such a hard time. They also offer in home euthanasia if that's what you want

The staff here is super friendly. They explain everything they do and offer solutions that you can afford or have payment plans (oac) if needed. Let you know to the penny how much you will need for your fur baby's care ahead of time and are great with care of them as well. My dogs love going and drag me from the car to the entrance everytime! I won't be returning here ever..... One of my 3 dogs after having expensive tests done was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. This was our 10 year old Boston Terrier. Little did we know the medication she was put on would start killing her. She became confused, super skinny, and weak, so quickly it was devastating. We thought it was the disease. We took her back twice and our only recommendations was adding Antibiotics, different food and suggestions of more testing and more money. Then Covid happened. I emailed several times sending pictures of her weight lose, sores on her skin but the vet never called us back even though we were promised he would. It got to the point where I was having to open her mouth to put food in and used a suryng to give her water. It's like she'd forgotten how to drink. She walked into corners and didn't know how to get turned around. it was heart breaking and all within a couple of months. Then one day a friend sent me the side effect warnings of her meds and there was the answer to everything. If only we'd never her put her on those she'd still be here. I will never trust a Vet again. I will do my own research from now on. We are still heart broken at the lose of our Lola.

Recently I had to euthanize my 19 year old cat and the vet and staff were all amazing during the agonizing process. My cat had a seizure on a Sunday evening and I was completely distraught! I had no idea how I would find a vet that would be open to see her. I did a quick Google search and the Animal Hospital of Cambridge popped up. I called and asked if they could see me without an appointment and they told me to come. The vet was very thorough with my cats exam and she discussed all my options with me. Unfortunately the decision was made that my dear old cat was ready to have help passing. The vet let me hold her and cuddle her while she was given the injection. Even though I was a compete disaster with my emotions the staff treated me kindly and gave my cat a very respectful passing. I will highly recommend them to anyone needing a new vet. I loved that they are open 7 days a week!

July of 2020 I had to rush my 7 year old German Shepherd for emergency surgery for a blockage that perforated is stomach wall. I had never been there before (left old awful vet) and was extremely impressed with his care. Dr Kaitlyn performed the surgery and was amazing. I was so impressed with her attention to detail and the amazing efforts she went through to save my boy. She was not only kind and caring she genuinely comforted me though the scariest experience. The staff were incredibly kind and caring also. So needless to say when I encountered my second terrifying illness in my GSD I knew exactly who I was calling. Just this week end of May 2021 my GSD started to show alarming signs of sickness. This time Dr David looked after my boy. Dr David knew immediately that he was extremely sick. He ran several tests that were alarming but not exactly conclusive. After exhausting all efforts he felt it was best that my dog was sent to a specialist who had the equipment needed to get a proper diagnosis. I am happy to say this clinic literally saved my dog's life twice in one year. I am so thankful and really appreciate the skill and kindness of this amazing clinic.

It is shameful that they promote this, and cover it up under the guise of being a rescue organization. We bring our two cats here and it was a great experience. Prices are average but the service is exceptional. We have had appointment with Dr. David and he is very knowledgeable, kind and takes the time to explain everything clearly to us. Vet tech Lily was also wonderful. We have a nervous skittish cat and they are kind and gentle with her. The office also has plenty of window perches for the cats to look out and they play a video of birds to help relax the cats. I like that one side of the building is cat only as well.

Do NOT take your pet to Animal Hospital of Cambridge for any reason. They are grossly overpriced! Since moving we've been using another vet and realized how much we overpaid in the past. Our dog went there a few years ago for a spinal inflammation. $282 including assessment and medication. Today I took her to our local vet for the same condition, $141 including assessment and the exact same medication. We saw the same pricing differences when she had her checkup and flea / tick medications. Double the price in Cambridge versus our local vet. I feel like our family pet was just a profit centre to fund their Taj Mahal of a clinic. Do your homework and don't get overcharged!

No stars. I just brought my cat here to be euthanized and they tried to price gouged me! I had taken her a few times to this clinic and they were good, slightly overpriced, but good. However now that they have moved to a new, fancy looking clinic, their prices are outrageous! The lady started off by asking me if I wanted a plaque to remember my (still alive) cat and then proceeded to break down the cost to put her to sleep. When the lady asked me "did they explain the price to you over the phone when you booked"? My heart sank. I paid $150 for my 120lb dog to be euthanized and cremated at Burgess animal hospital and for my small cat, AHC wanted over $400!! A little price break down over the phone would have prevented this sure-to-be , sleepless night. Go to Burgess. They are amazing and yes, the clinic can't fit a damn giraffe through the door, it doesn't have pretty chandeliers or beautiful leather couches but their staff is amazing and they aren't out gouging people to pay for big doors and fancy couches. Animal Hospital of Cambridge is in it to make money off of people who love their fur babies! But if you like paying a premium for a fancy building, than I guess to each their own.

My partner and I brought a woman who has been looking for a companion after her husband moved into a home and we were shocked by what we saw. All of the dogs were lying in feces, it smelt and it was very unsanitary. The woman who was showing us around said most of the dogs came from a puppy mill and it felt like we were walking into a puppy mill. The dogs don't get brought out in between cleanings, they get put in a crate then go back into their kennel when it is clean and then go to the bathroom again. Then we saw the prices and were shocked that a senior was $1500 and a puppy was $1600. There are many rescue agencies that charge $425 and include all the same benefits such as a spay/neuter 30 days of pet insurance, shots up to date etc. Second Chance Auction Animal Rescue (SCAAR) is one of them. On top of all of this, students do the spay and neuter to learn how to do them. So they aren't even being done by a vet and they are still charging outrageous money for the adoption fee. You can get a dog from a high quality breeder that is already trained for these prices. I was appalled by the treatment of the dogs. Please look elsewhere if you are wanting to adopt! There are so many better options. The adoptions here are for profit not for wanting to find animals a good home. * This post has nothing to do with their veterinary care, just the adoptions within the facility *

What a wonderful place! The staff truly care about each and every animal in their care. When my cat went in for dental surgery, each of the staff were so gentle and loving with her. They completely set my mind at ease beforehand, giving me all the information I could possibly need, and then kept me updated throughout the day. Plus, the work they did ended up costing less than the quote - talk about integrity! You can feel good about entrusting your fur kids with this kind and compassionate staff.

We recently had to put our beloved dog down. It was heartbreaking but had to be done. We took him to Animal Hospital of Cambridge and I can not say enough wonderful things about the staff here. They were so compassionate and caring. They let us cry with our little furry friend for as long as we needed. They checked on us periodically and asked if there was anything we needed. We had our privacy in a little room to say our good-byes. Afterwards, they allowed us to remain with him as long as we felt we needed. We had our little guy cremated and ordered a paw-print as well. We had his remains and paw-print back to us within a week. They mailed us a condolences card with all of the staff signatures, it was so touching. These people really care about what they are doing. They love the animals that come into their office. I have been to many other clinics and none come even close to what this clinic offers in support alone. If you take your four legged family member here you know they will be in excellent hands!!

My dog Maddie had to have surgery to remove an object in her stomach and this place was recommended. We are extremely happy it was. Dr Sophie was great. She took the time and answered all of our questions, both before, and after and did a great job explaining everything and making the process a lot less stressful. The following day, the doctors took the time to go over some other concerns we had and once again put our minds at ease and explained everything without ever rushing us out the door. We have been coming to Animal Hospital of Cambridge for many years now and have been more than pleased with there service. You can see from the counter staff to the Veterinarian that they care about the animals and there families. When our Thor had two tumours removed. One behind the ear and one along his cheek. We were afraid for our furry friend. They were entirely different from one another. The prognosis seemed grim. The surgery went fantastic they got all of both tumours and they were sent off for cancer testing. I received a call the next day to see how Thor was doing. Then in a week again to check on the healing and to remind me about stitch removal after 14 days. After a little over a week and the test are back our boy is cancer free. Yahoo

We were very lucky. On March 28th, we took our dogs to the park to play. While we were playing fetch. Our dog had an accident and hurt her spine. We took her to the Cambridge Animal Hospital. The staff came in and took her right away. She had a spinal injury and could not walk with back legs. She was given some meds. In 4 days she has made good progress. She was dragging herself around. On Friday April 2nd she has walked. Still very weak but she did it on her own. My wife and I would like to say thank you. You are the Best!

I was super nervous today bringing my dog in to this clinic-he's a rescue who can be very fearful of strangers, even out on walks, so the notion of bringing him in to have uncomfortable procedures done was daunting. Despite being incredibly busy(full waiting room), everyone at the clinic was so patient and understanding. More importantly, they turned what I worried would be a traumatic experience for my dog into one that seemed no more stressful for him than a walk in the park. He got his exam, microchip, and vaccinations with no issues, they never seemed annoyed or bothered by this 100lb dog that I unfortunately could offer no more insight on beyond "he might be ok, he might absolutely panic, I have no idea". Our vet was very calm, professional, and absolutely unconcerned about whether or not my dog would freak out, she was clearly prepared if he was going to be a problem but wasn't scared of him or worried about it, and as a result he got everything necessary done. He wasn't shaking when he was brought back to me, didn't seem scared beyond this whole affair being a slight inconvenience to his day. Would absolutely recommend this beautiful, well organized clinic to anyone, and will only ever be taking my pets here.

Went with my dog today for a emergency appointment, the Vet Dr Kaitlyn Madge wouldn't even touch him to exam him because of his breed (Cane Corso). He doesn't have a aggressive bone in his body, he plays with children every day. So she made me muzzle him which made him completely uncomfortable as he has never wore one before as it's not needed. They couldn't even perform a exam properly because of the muzzle. So they just prescribed a bunch of meds. No physical exam whatsoever. That cost 500.00 to not have a exam for proper diagnosis. Complete waste of time. Do not take your large breed dog here, in my opinion if your afraid of big dogs ypu shouldn't be be veterinarian.

They were so quick to want to remove my dogs eye due to an ulcer they were incredibly incompassionate to me furing the entire processes. They offered to remove his eye for 500.00 for someones learning experiences. When i asked for second opinion i got sent almost 2 hours away when there was a doctor who did the sate procedure in town. The vet specialist two hours away was motified at the thought of removing his eye and completely saved his eye with full vision. Oh did i mentioon the animal hospital wtote on my dogs medical records "O has no money" o dog owners... clearly they only Care about money.

this has been the worst vet experience ever. I have never written a review before. I took my German shepherd in to have his nails trimmed, heis a very nervous guy and needed prior sedation. at the office they gave us their most inexperienced vet and tech who overdosed him on ketamine. he couldn't walk for 3 days he will not eat. they will not return my calls for help. the vet was afraid of him even though he was sleeping, she said she had an upcoming wedding and didnt want to get bit. really?? wrong line of work. the tech was about 12, no experience. my dog is my whole world and they almost killed him

If there was a way to give more than 5 stars, I would. I had brought my cat to different vets 3 times and left without answers, medication that was pointless, money that I didn't need to spend. I finally took my cat to this hospital after a bunch of tears and frustration later. They quickly took my cat in after I described what was going on, the DR also came on the phone and said she understands how frustrating it is to not have answers and get gouged for money. She waved the exam fee AND the xrays for my cat. All I paid for was the food. I was in total awe. She was attentive, informative and actually made me feel like we were getting somewhere with his diagnosis. I am beyond happy that I took my cat here. I will be switching vets from this amazing visit today.

Had an appointment for my dog's second rabies shot. The idea during this pandemic time is to drive around the back, park and call them to let you know you are there. I did so. The automated system hung up on me three times before an actual person answered. She announced that they would call me back in a few minutes and they will come get the dog and take her in for the shot. I waited 25 minutes and called to be hung up on again. Waited another 20 minutes and called. The woman on the phone says their system is down and they have no ideas who is in the parking lot. Frustrated I tell her I will come back another time. This could have been handled much better.

We had a very sick puppy and had never been to the Animal Hospital Of Cambridge. My husband and I felt so comfortable leaving our Maxi there for surgery and over night. The Doctor was amazing and so were all the others involved. They followed up everyday after his surgery until they were satisfied with his results!!! My family and I went to visit a puppy that was up for adoption. The vet tech was great. She was very kind and did not rush our time with the puppy. The office is clean and very spacious. They have a number of employees and have great hours. I am not sure how their prices compare to other veterinarians but everyone seemed kind and knowledgeable.

Its absolutely beautiful inside, as if you have entered a high end animal spa. The hours are perfect. The staff are kind, knowledgeable and very stylish. The veterinarian was awesome. He provided so much valuable information. He was so gental with my dog and was very supportive. The cost of service was surprisingly fair. Less then what my regular vet would have charged. I received my prescription there at the clinic. To top off an already excellent experience, they followed up a few days later via email. Highly recommended.

Over the phone, Vanessa spoke with a true warmth in her heart. My husband and I recently had to make one of the most difficult decisions, to let our sweet girl fly free. I have had wonderful experiences here! They first saw my dog on an emergency. They saw him very quickly and were very thorough. They informed me every step of the way and made sure my dog was well taken care of. I have since switched to them as my regular vet and I couldnt be happier! Everyone is very knowledgeable and they involve many staff members to treat the animals as well as possible. All the staff are super nice and very personable. It is a bit more expensive than some other places, but you really do get what you pay for here. It is so worth it to have peace of mind and know that my pets' health is in good hands at the Cambridge Animal Hospital

Brought my dog in for a skin rash. First of all they originally came out with a $900 + tax bill. All my dog needed was steroids and bacteria shampoo. So they prescribed him the shampoos, but they only had one in stock ( he needed a shampoo and conditioner). They said they would call me the next day with the other shampoo ( I couldn't use one without the other). They didn't call me until 2 days after the appointment. When I get there to pick up the conditioner, they gave me another shampoo. Very poorly organized and way over priced. The only thing I will use this vet for from now on, is emergencies when I have no other choice.

Most people are fine that work within this place. For sure the people who actually work on your animals are super nice and I never had a problem. It's the people in the front who make the experience not worth it. Most of them don't give you all the information you need (for sure on ways of payment and how to hand off /receive you animal is done during covid) than they get rude with you immediately because you don't know this missing information. They need to be retrained on how to talk and handle people. Because it didn't take the first time .

Would definitely recommend this place! Would have been a 5 star if there wasn’t this one vet that always tries to upsell and take advantage of caring owners. We avoid getting appointments with her and haven’t ran into problems with scheduling - the great thing is that they have lots of vets to choose from. The vets that we do really like and have been amazing are Dr.Meredith and Dr.Ellie. They are always very caring, compassionate and honest - they only recommend what needs to be done and don’t try to use scare tactics. The front desk staff are very friendly and service is good overall. They also have lots of different foods on hand to choose from, which is a huge plus!

Animal hospital of Cambridge only cares about one thing and that's profit. They're only interest is finding ways to continuously over charge you for basic services. Why do you need to charge a 25 to 30% premium on your prescriptions? Why do your clients have to continually see a vet just for basic refill of medication that they've been on for years? The wait time to actually see a veterinarian is atrocious they used to have a good practice but now it's solely about finding ways to pay for their overhead at the expense of our four-legged loved ones. To top it all off they misdiagnosed my cat not once but twice in addition to terrible end of life services for my dog! We finally found another vet in town that is very accommodating and would never let an animal struggle in pain just because of a policy they have in place that is solely driven by profit. Much better veterinarian services in town who truly have a passion for your furry Friends without trying to find multiple ways to overcharge for services. I guess somebody has to pay for that fancy building thank goodness it's no longer me and my family. You just lost a client of nearly 15 years I stayed with your practice this long because I truly liked the original owners of this practice maybe it's time to reevaluate how you run your practice. It's okay to make a profit but at this point it's clearly obvious that you have lost touch with reality and I challenge anybody to really look around at other veterinarian services who are top notch and make time for your loved ones without the condescending attitude and ridiculous rates. Only a few veterinarians in my opinion are actually competent at this location hopefully you end up with one who is if not good luck. ....

This is a tricky one for me because I got my dog from this place and I felt taken care of initially. I ended up leaving this establishment just before 2 years and the issues were: the nickel and diming and misdiagnosis of an ailment. I think there are people that actually care here, and it's a beautiful building but I felt that if I parked in their lot, I would expect a bill. It's just expensive as heck and I remember buying a 1 year care package where I would get 10% off of everything and not getting that discount applied all the time. The last nail in the coffin was an ear infection that supposedly became a yeast infection. This was a 1 month situation that never supposedly approved although I could tell the ears were fine and the dog did not seem bothered. (later proven at another vet that no issue was there) The hospital advised a new diet would be the fix which was annoying since I was using the food they recommended. This place has it's positives but overall it feels like a horrible cell phone plan. I'd avoid it.

This animal hospital really is dedicated to giving your pets the best care. We rushed our cat demon here two years ago due to lethargy and straining upon urination. He was diagnosed with a blockage. The vets and technicians really did the best work with him, unblocked him and gave us all the information that we needed to help him. He recently blocked again, and I really cannot thank all of you at AHOC enough for what you have done for demon and for us. We will forever be grateful to you guys for taking such excellent care of us and for easing our anxiety and welcoming us and him at any time. AMAZING staff, reception, and overall experience. Dr. Ellie and her team was a dream and made my experience more comforting than I ever could have imagined. I came in with my very sick cat who was showing no improvement since I took him to another vet office in Kitchener. Dr Ellie and her assistant worked with me for hours to get the best price possible as well as find the best options to figure out what was wrong with my baby. She comforted me and spent hours explaining the options all while giving me time to think and discuss with family. Using her clear knowledge of animals and how their body functions, as well as relating to personal experiences, she was able to put my mind at ease and create a sense of peace with my decisions. Upon the passing of my beloved cat, I received a card with a personal message from each of the staff at the hospital. I couldn't be more greatful. I would pay double to go see Dr Ellie again. It's worth it knowing that the one you love is in good hands. They are truly an extension of our family.

I brought my cat here because it was the only place open past 9. The service was excellent, the vet that took a look at him was excellent as well (I think her name was Sophie, I believe she was from New Zealand or Australia). And to my surprise, she called back about 5 days later to ask how he was doing! They make you feel like they really do care about your animals, and there is absolutely nothing better than that! Disturbing experience today, my son and daughter-in-law s dog was hit by a car, after much angst, they chose to euthanize the pup. This clinic would not bring the dog into the room for them to see, until the bill was paid! They were asked 3 times to pay the bill...now , my kids felt " pressured" and not supported at all! What difficult experience and this place xan only think.of the bill!. Once the bill was paid was told in a very chippy, chirpy voice to " have a great day!". My response was " really? You think this family is having a good day?" These people need to attend some training programs to learn to deal with people and learn that money is not always top priority. I would not recommend this place at all. Very disappointed...

Horrible!. First of all, who ever said they care about your pets is a lie. They only care about the money they can charge you!. I may end up losing my dog due to their outrageous prices. First of all, I had to pay $110, for them just to tell me i have to book another appointment which will cost me $400 for them to sedate her and ANOTHER 400 + TO SEND TEST RESULTS??? How does it cost over $400 to send lab test? .... This place is looking out for the greed. If anyone has any suggestions about any better or more affordable prices, please share. I may end up losing my beloved pet because this place decided that $45 an Hr isnt enough to keep them warm while the rest of the world freezes giving all they can to keep their loved ones around that little bit longer

I used to come here but time after time they over charged me and pushed me into services my pets didn’t need. Recently they did the same to my Mother, a senior citizen. They completely took advantage of her love for her pet. If you don’t need the extended hours they offer don’t go there.
