I have never had a bad encounter at this vet. We don't really come here for the medical purposes. We only bring our dog here to cut his nails (Hes stubborn about it at home). Always quick and slightly cheaper than bigger branches. We're thinking of "moving" our dog here because it's closer and the current one we go to is always a surprise (not going to name any names).

We have been taking our 14 year old pug (Bodhi) and our 11 year old labradoodle (Bentley) to Nolan Hill Veterinary Hospital for a couple of years now. The staff are exceptional, especially Dr. Rowe and Amber (Front Desk). They always go the extra mile and are reasonably priced for the exceptional service and care you get for your fur babies. Amber is an absolute delight - I appreciate how she always follows up after visits and makes sure Bodhi's medication is being ordered and comes in on time. You can tell that cares far beyond the responsibilities of her job. I am grateful to the team at NHV and always know our pups are being given the very best care!

The staff at Nolan Hill Veterinary Hospital are, in a word, extraordinary. From intake to exam to surgery to follow-up, everyone - Stephanie, Kinga, Dr. Thompson, the surgeon and the vet tech - was outstanding. When my cat needed major surgery, they were compassionate, empathetic, responsive to all of my many, (many!) questions, they were able to address all of my concerns, and made sure that my cat was comfortable throughout the whole process from initial diagnosis to surgery to post-op checks. Our 5 month old puppy was having some health issues later in the day, near your closing time, so we had to take her to McKnight Vet and didn’t have a very great experience. I called the next morning and got an appointment right away because I trust all the vets here and got a second opinion. What an amazing team. Recently I took our little guy Joey in for dental surgery and I could not be happier with the experience we had. Dr. Rowe and Nina took the time to explain the procedure both pre and post OP as well as what was required during recovery. They kept me updated during the procedure and followed up the next day. I even received a letter of the procedure from Joey's point of view. The little extras are what make this hospital special. After the surgery they showed me all of the xrays and pictures of the work done. I also love that when going in for grooming there's a board that welcomes the appointments for the day. They really personalize the experience. What a great place.

NHVH is hands down the best vet clinic in Calgary! When we first got our dog 5 years ago Dr. Rowe was Simba's vet at another clinic and we followed her over to Nolan Hill when we found out she was there. A few weeks ago our Yorkie had a few things going on. The staff and Dr. Rowe fit us in at the end of the day, making their day longer to make sure Simba was okay. They squeezed him in again for emergency surgery the next day in their already slammed schedule to make sure he could get the care he needed. After sending him home, my wife and I received follow up calls and emails over the next 2 weeks to make sure Simba was doing well. The follow up appointments with Dr. Rowe have been super informative and she is amazing when it comes to answering all of our questions. I would recommend NHVH to all of my family and friends. Thank you for taking care of our little guy!

I was taking care of a very sick kitty and had previously been to the North Animal Hospital where we were treated terribly and all they cared about was getting us to pay an exuberant amount of money. Luckily, we were able to see Dr. Rowe and her team and to say the least we were blown away by their compassionate care and humane pricing. I called Nolan Hill vet on a whim today as the usual vet my 3 dogs are registered with were unavailable due to their vet being off for a couple weeks (!?). My dog was limping with what I thought was a sprained paw and I was so fortunate to have been greeted by the most lovely person, Mikayla. She was unbelievably sympathetic to the situation and immediately booked us in for a slot today. The vet we saw, Dr Thompson, was so professional and kind. She was so thorough that she discovered my dog had a matted bit of fur between his paw pads that we hadn’t seen and that was tugging on his skin, which caused an infection and the limping. I was honestly amazed at how nice everyone was, most especially Mikayla and Dr Thompson. I am now going to register all 3 of my dogs at this vet and transfer them from the other one. If you’re looking for kindness, professionalism and just amazing people, then I highly recommend Nolan Hill Vet! Thank you Mikayla for your empathy - you are an absolute star!

Dr. Rowe is amazing. She's intelligent and so kind. Our dog Gus has had three issues to date and she's been able to assist us quickly and easily. The last time Gus saw her he swallowed a thick wool sock. She was busy but was still able to squeeze him in last minute. Thankfully no surgery was needed and he's now free of the sock. If surgery was required we were told we may need to go to the emergency hospital but at least they were able to admit him for the day for a small fee. I would recommend this place to anyone in the city. Even if it's a bit far, it's worth the drive. Their staff is absolutely wonderful and caring. I have nothing but great things to say about them all.

The clinic itself is very nice and very clean. I also felt that all of the staff and vet (Dr. Thompson) truly cared about my cat when I brought him in today. They were very professional, but also empathetic. They weren't able to perform the tests that were required at that time within their clinic, so they called ahead to the 24 hr vet to inform them of the situation and let them know I was on my way over. They also provided me with a quote from the 24 hr vet after they had spoken with them on the phone so that I didn't feel blindsided once there. I really appreciate their help!

On the Wednesday I had booked for my puppy Chewy to get her first haircut for Friday. At Nolan Hill Veterinary Hospital based on the positive reviews. Come Friday 3 hours before my appoinment I was called by the groomer asking if I could reschedule because she fell ill. I explained to her that I lived out of town and was gonna be heading back home after the appointment. She then tried to see if the other groomers could fit me in unable to find a replacement. She then had me come right in despite her being so under the weather which when seeing her I could tell she was ill. Despite her being ill she was very professional asking me what kind of cut I wanted and telling me how much she was gonna have to cut. Due to my pup’s fur being so matted from her being abandoned by her previous owners for two months. The groomer was able to do a great job cutting my puppy’s fur turning her from a nappy headed miscreant to mischievious princess. So with that would like to thank her and wish her well and good health.

Kristine was AMAZING with her—so patient, gentle, and kind! She even called me midway through our dog’s service to let me know that our dog was doing great. Dr. Danielle Rowe and her team are amazing. Dr. Rowe has helped us get through some tough times with our fur babies with complete care, concern, compassion, medical knowledge, and professionalism. Dr. Rowe does check up calls after procedures to make sure that our Brody is recovering well and is always willing to do what she can to make his recovery better. Our current fur baby, Brody, has had allergies to food and we currently are on monthly meds with him. Dr Rowe, Amber, Stephanie, and everyone at Nolan are simply the best. We have 4 Rescue dogs that all love their vet visits! As is often the case with rescues, they can come with issues. Our guy Diesel doesn’t have any health issues but he can be a bitey jerk lol, our Mexico rescue Gigi is a tiny tripawd with her own special needs, our California boy Homeskillet was born and raised in the sewers of LA and so he's nervous, scared and socially awkward, our most recent Iranian rescue girl Pani has several issues including partial rear paralysis. Everyone at Nolan, the receptionists, vet techs, Dr Rowe and Dr Oulett are so kind, patient and understanding with all 4 of our pups! Costs are extremely reasonable, always provide several treatment options, compassion and knowledgable advice. I went to Nolan Hill Veterinary with the hope of experiencing a better level of care than what I was receiving at my current vet clinic. My female french bulldog, Kimi, had developed a cough and I wanted her assessed. Dr. Thompson met with my husband and I, on our first visit. She was pretty hyper and her manner was rushed. A few x-rays were taken and then we left. I received a phone call from Dr. Thompson a few days later. She told me there was no detected mass present in Kimi's lungs. You can imagine my relief. The radiologist had diagnosed the issue as being inflammation of the bronchial tubes due to age and/or environmental conditions (my husband and I do not smoke). A short time after this, Kimi choked on a chew and I had to remove the obstruction from her throat. Days later, I noted that Kimi's breathing had become laboured, so I booked with Nolan Hill to have her re-examined. This time around, Dr. Thompson told me Kimi's lung x-ray didn't look good and she could hear crackling sounds. Diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, caused by the earlier choking incident, Dr. Thompson prescribed two antibiotics and a steroid medication. Two weeks later, Kimi was not doing better, so I took her in for a follow-up. She was taken to the back and I was told I could either stand in the lobby or wait in my car. I was confused because I expected to speak with Dr. Thompson again. I was told the Dr. had been called away to a family emergency, but the staff would try and have Kimi seen by another vet that was in the clinic at the time. I was placed in a room to wait after asking if I could sit down somewhere. Dr. Rowe ended up speaking with me - Kimi's x-rays showed her right lung was an issue, her breathing wasn't good and Kimi's oxygen sats were lower than what Dr. Rowe would like to see. In short, I needed to take Kimi to critical care the following morning to have her assessed. I took Kimi to an ER clinic in the SE and that's where it all fell apart. The hospital x-ray films revealed she had a large tumour in her right lung and small tumour nodules in her left lung. Both radiologists, who work at the critical care centre, confirmed that Kimi likely had lung cancer - a 90 to 95% probability. Kimi's inability to breath without the aid of oxygen by this time, and her deteriorating physical state, left my husband and I with no good choice. We had to let her go. I'm having trouble with the fact that neither Dr. Thompson, nor the radiologist, that the films were sent to the first time, picked up-on the right lung mass, as it was painfully evident, when I was shown Kimi's x-ray films by the ER vet. In the month long period, of which I was a client at Nolan Hill Veterinary, I spent over a thousand dollars on what feels like a series of misdiagnosis. To put it bluntly - one would have to either be blind, or not know what they were looking at, to have missed the mass in Kimi's right lung and the nodules in her left lung. Staff emailed me a few times, to check up on Kimi, before she passed, which I appreciated. But I haven't heard a word from this clinic since her death.

My dog has gone here for her puppy exams, shots and for an ear infection. This place is insanely busy with vet visits and food sales. I had an absolutely terrible experience with one vet who no longer works there. The little bit I got to interact with other staff they seemed lovely, albeit brisk. The vet who left deserves maybe 2 stars but I can't really complain about the rest of the staff so I give them 4 stars. I once had a question about child safe modeling clay my puppy chewed (did not appear to eat) and their automatic response was to take her to a large hospital. I had accident insurance so I called them to help determine if it was possibly toxic to her. The insurance took the time to investigate and confirm it was NOT toxic for dogs and would not harm her unless she ate enough to cause a blockage. My instincts said it was not a hospital emergency so that would have been a large expense that could have resulted in damaging exploratative methods.

Unreliable when you need them. I just wanted to take a moment to respond to your comment. At no point was there any type of abuse towards you or your staff. That statement is absolutely false. I would love to know who I am actually responding to because I only spoke with one of the assistants at the front desk. I suspect that the person responding to my negative feedback is being fed some false information. I simply said this is the second time I have required emergency services from your organization and the second time I have been told to go elsewhere. I am done with Nolan Hill Veterinarian Hospital and I will be leaving negative feedback. The front office assistant said that was fine. Nothing more, nothing less. Nolan Hill Veterinary Hospital has not helped me on many occasions at the last minute. There was one occasion when one of my dogs needed emergency help and I was turned away. I left negative feedback here and one of the owners immediately contacted me to assist him. Your organization is not reliable in emergency situations. I will stand by that statement. I was not offered an appointment first thing the next morning. I was told that if there was time the next day that you would try to fit me in. If I thought it was an emergency I should take him elsewhere. I did take him to a different animal hospital and his emergency was dealt with immediately. I am not sure how you can say I refused that option but apparently truth is not something you deal in. I suggest that you do some further investigation internally. Someone is costing you business by lying to you. I just want to reiterate that at no point have I ever been verbally abusive to you or anyone at your office. I have spent thousands of dollars with Nolan Hill Veterinary Hospital. The organization is unreliable in emergency situations. You would be better off spending your money with an organization that can accommodate you when you need them. Negative feedback here seems to be the only way to have a conversation with one of the owners. You can clearly see here how they deal with it. I suggest you hire a public relations person or better yet pick up the phone to talk to your customers. Based on this experience you have too many anyway and that is probably why you don't care.

I took my dog in for her regular grooming. I’ve not had much luck with groomers listening to my personal preferences in the past. However, today she saw Sara/Sarah(?) for the first time. She took the time to listen to me and even called me (mid cut) to make sure matting removal was okay due to specific coat length requests. I’d recommend Sara/Sarah as a groomer. Our dog was on medication for some paw issues. When we left for an hour he somehow managed to knock his antibiotics off the kitchen island, get into the light sensitive packaging and eat 15 doses!! I was on hold with poison control so I decided to call Nolan Hill Vet Hospital on our other line. They told me immediately to bring him in and within 15 minutes he was already having his stomach pumped. I am blown away at the care our dog received and not only that it was like 1/5 the cost of taking him to an emergency vet hospital. I am so grateful to have Dr. Rowe and team in our community!

Dr. Rowe is amazing, but even more amazing are the staff at the front desk and the vet techs! They make us feel like Nikita is the only dog in the world receiving the level of care she is getting. Our girl was in recovery from eating over 100 advil and we were there twice a day every day for almost a week. Stephanie, especially, was so good with Nikita who was honestly sick-to-death of getting poked and prodded. But even after that experience, she's still happy to go into the clinic just to see the women at the front. That says something. We were also impressed that Dr. Rowe would call us on her way home every night to give us the update on Nikita's blood work and kidney function. She talked to us like Nikita was her very own pet. Would never go anywhere else!

I have used this clinic in the past for my dogs hair cuts. Not as our regular vet. One is an elderly dog and other is young. The haircuts are done nicely. The vet called me to let me know she did an exam and that our elderly dog had an abscessed tooth. The vet informed me of my options and said that the dog needed antibiotics and pain meds. I arrived to pick up my dogs and the front staff didn’t know anything about the meds. When promoted they brought only the antibiotics out to me. I asked again about the pain meds as the vet had suggested. The staff at the front counter asked if I wanted them to go back to check on that. I said yes of course I do, if my dog is in pain I want relief for her. They came back saying that they can’t give her meds unless the animal get full exam. Okay, so I get that everyone needs to make a living. They did do a exam so I was a bit confused. I called back to clarify the exam fee I had paid for and was informed it wasn’t a “full exam”. Okay fine they want their full exam fee. Which, I can also deal with. So obviously I want to get pain meds for my aging dog and ask when can I get that done? Next, I was told oh next week. Here is where I get frustrated. I have aging dog who is in pain. They won’t give her meds for her pain at least until which time they have available to see her. No the vet clinic expects her to wait 6 more days before I can get an appointment to get pain meds.... I called the clinic back to speak to the vet. left message to call me as I don’t have the expectations that the vet wouldn’t be busy in the moment. Unfortunately I got the sound of crickets I have yet to receive al call back.....Nothing! Poor customer service and terrible professionalism and consideration for an animal who is nearing the end of a fabulous life. Solution, find a new groomer and I called my regular vet and they get her in tomorrow!

WOW! That's my experience. I would recommend Nolan Hill Vet for anyone who loves their fur babies. For me specifically every time is a fantastic experience. We have a German Shepard...who is 3,5 y.o. at this moment and i am with this amazing vet since he was one. My pup is a big baby and he needs a special approach. Starting with his anxious behavior being at the vet (he is scared), to the whole procedure of his regular appointment(again, he is scared, so he is becoming a drama queen when he is being just weighted) . First, Dr.Danielle Rowe is extremely professional and won't suggest any treatment that would lead to any further problems. LOVE her! Second...staff at Nolan Hill. Specially, i would like to highlight absolutely amazing human being and huge pet lover, Amber. Even though my pup is super scared to go to the vet, but once he sees Amber, he trusts her like no tomorrow. She will always make him feel welcomed, loved, special, gives him his special hypoallergenic treats.She will always makes me feel like this place will help us with our problems and it's a safe place to be. She is a Professional with a capital P. Even though we moved to the SE of Calgary, i will drive to Nolan, just because of people who works there and create a special bond with their fur customers, who are being scared to be patients. And i know we are not only one. For this few years of me and my pup Atlas visiting Nolan Hill, Amber will always welcome us with with a huge smile on her face(even through a mask you can see it) and offer THE BEST service and approach. I literally can go on and go on. I love my dog to the moon and back, and trust me...he had some rough patches, i had to bring him for a few emergencies. But absolutely every single time, both me and my beloved dog (more me lol) felt like Nolan Hill Vet is a place that will actually care . I think it's rare. My experience with Nolan Hill was excellent, even before I stepped into the office. My partner and I recently adopted our first puppy and had a lot of questions regarding the first vet appointment, so we sent them a quick email. Within an hour, they responded with a detailed description on what to expect upon our first visit and for the near future. Dr. Rowe was incredibly informative and transparent. I’ve heard horror stories about vets trying to push products on patients, but she took her time explaining everything so that we could make an informed decision ourselves. Not to mention she was also impressively swift at handling our mouthy puppy! The staff out front was also very warm and friendly and showed our family plenty of love. I highly recommend Dr. Rowe and her team and we look forward to our future visits with them!

NHVH is absolutely the best. We had taken our dog, a westie/cairn terrier cross, to other veterinarians in the past and none compare. Dr. Rowe is compassionate and calm, and we have complete trust in her opinion. Previous experiences at other Veterinarians always felt like we were getting charged for every possible test - Dr. Rowe and her team worked with us and communicated the cost and tests required for our dog, so we were able to afford and maintain his treatment. Also, NHVH is the only place we take our dog to get groomed - their grooming service is an added bonus of their practice. Don't waste your time and money going anywhere else, your animal companion will appreciate it!

She is competent, caring and most importantly compassionate about her little patients. Over the years, she has got us threw some trying times — successfully healing our kitten that was very sick when we adopted him; providing excellent advise on how to deal with an older cat (12 years) that was extremely stressed from her stay at the shelter and her move to our home. Our kitten is now a healthy happy 4 year old and our older cat is relaxed and has become a wonderful companion. All in all, Dr. Rowe has been a wonderful veterinarian and we feel blessed to have looking after our pets.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my dogs have received at Nolan hill. I first met Dr Rowe when I moved into the neighbourhood and my very senior 17 year old dog needed a vet. She was so sweet with him, and when the time came for him she made it very calm and gentle. I then got a new puppy. He seemed lethargic and she immediately knew he had meningitis and sent me to the right place to help him. She saved his life. The staff is so nice. When our dog got into cookies that had a several ingredients known to be toxic for dogs, her team took care of him right away which prevented any damage to his system. The clinic is very clean, and the services are very affordable. Dr. Rowe is extremely kind and friendly. Dr. Michelle Thompson shows no compassion or care when handling dogs. She is condescending and rude. Our dog has been to multiple vets in Calgary and there was never an issue with any of the vets except for Dr. Thompson. We have also visited Dr. Rowe here and she is great and had no problems with our dog. I would strongly urge you to book your appointments with Dr. Rowe and not Dr. Thompson. The professionalism and competence is like day and night with these two vets. If you want someone who cares about your pet, go with Dr. Rowe. Our dog was feeling sick and uncomfortable and Dr. Thompson did not like that our dog was making discomforting sounds because she was in pain. She suggested that we needed therapy instead of focusing on treating our dog. Dr. Thompson has told us our dog needs behavioral therapy as she can be fearful. We've taken in this advice and have taken her to a well regarded behavioral specialist in Calgary and she has assessed our dog very highly and with no corrections needed. Our dog has not had an issue with any of the other vets we have visited in the city or with Dr. Rowe at this facility. It is apparent that Dr. Thompson requires some behavioral therapy herself to learn how to handle dogs who are uncomfortable and seeking help. I hope that this review allows her to reflect on her bedside manner and her poor treatment of animals.

Great vet knowledgeable and friendly. Wide range of hours and typically not too difficult to get an appointment. Both main DVMs have been great to deal with and always caring and worried for your pet. They even have a points system with rewards. My pet doesn't require grooming so I cant speak for the grooming services but there is usually one leaving when I'm around and the dog always looks happy and well taken care of with a great haircut.

A few weeks ago my daughter had the misfortunate event of loosing her best friend of 13 years. It was unexpected and such a difficult time for my daughter and our family. Dr. Roth and her staff were amazing. They honestly did all they could to save him. Preforming CPR for 15 minutes and caring for him in anyway they could. After he had passed they were so sympathetic towards my daughters needs and feelings. Amber made the most difficult decisions of picking out a urn and deciding what arrangements to make once Milkyway had passed an easy transition. She has a whole in her heart that will heal with time, but I am so thankful how the entire office staff helped our family with our loss. We also take all of our dogs (three households) to Nolan Hill for grooming and they have a remarkable team there to take care of them. I would higher recommend this clinic for any and all of your pets needs.

Dr Thompson and the staff were excellent with my cat. The hospital has some of the best prices in the city and they showed respect to my budget - nothing was pushed on me. My cat was not sedated for her x-rays and most clinics I contacted wanted to sedate her right off the bat. I was confident in the diagnosis and the prescribed treatment from Dr Thompson. I have been going to Nolan Hill Vet for almost 6 years now. I have dealt with several vet hospitals around Calgary and I hands down always recommend NHV to everyone who asks me where they should go when looking for a vet to care for their beloved animals. Every question no matter how big or small is always answered and everyone at the Clinic is super helpful. My kitten recently had an forelimb amputation and Dr. Rowe was so amazing and helpful she answered all the concerns and helped me with my shock and heartbreak for my little one losing his leg. The surgery went well and I was so thankful she could preform the surgery so he could come home with me the same day. JD was loved so much by all at the clinic and always is when he goes. Huge shout out to Amber, Kinga they were loving on him like he was their own animal and that definitely helped my anxiety and JD for his big day! Everyone is also so excited to see the animals when they come in and are very helpful, kind and compassionate. We have completed 3 out of 6 laser treatments with Tasha and honestly this stuff is amazing for pain and healing. (it also works well for old arthritic dogs pain) As you can imagine a major surgery like amputation would be very painful and after the 3rd treatment and 4 days post surgery JD is showing his personality again which is amazing to see. Plus he gets to wear these cute googles to protect his eyes. (Bring a camera trust me :) ) I highly recommend Dr. Rowe and her amazing team I don't trust any other clinic with the health and care of my fur babies!!!! Thank you again for all the support and help through out the years!

So I've been taking my do here for a few years now (maybe 2-3 years) to get groomed. Today i picked him up and he looked horrible. he always gets the same cut every visit. Short on the body, ears kept long, round face like a teddy, and nails trimmed. All the previous times he looked great. His groom today was so horrible that i'm actually quite angry. 1) the price they charge jumped up to $77, from his last visit. But there was no mention when we called to book the appointment. When I went to pay, I asked the receptionist if there was reason for the increase from last time, and she had no explanation for it. It use to cost $65 just a year ago, then jumped to $71 few months ago, and now $77. Why not tell us the price increased when the appointment is booked, so customers can make an informed decision. 2) his nails are not even trimmed! look at the photos, and you let me know if those looked trimmed. 3) i understand that my dog may have uneven ears (part of his charm), but as a groomer, cant you see that and do your best to make them look even on both sides? this was never a problem in any of the previous visits. 4) usually the groomer comes out to the front to greet us, and its nice to put a face to the person grooming, but i knew something was off this time, because the lady that came out to grab my dog said the groomer was in the back. So i have no clue who this groomer is, or whether they are the same as the last visit. 5) My dogs hair is very choppy on the chest, and around his legs. He does not have a round face as per the last cut. and they kept all the notes from his previous visits, but he looks nothing like his previous. The crazy thing is, my dog will be part of our wedding happening this Saturday, and all i want to do is cry because i'm so upset. l will not be returning. Anyone out there, please recommend a good groomer for me.

I’ve been visiting this vet since January 2019 and I think Dr. Rowe is the best vet we’ve had in Alberta. My dog is very nervous around new people but Dr. Rowe was very patient with my dog and put both of us at ease. The front desk people were also very accommodating and got me in on very short notice. I also like that the vet treats your dog for exactly what you came for and didn't try and pressure me to do additional testing or sell any products like I’ve experienced with other vets in the city. Switched to this clinic recently and had to come in for a small emergency today. The staff was nothing but accommodating and helpful. They fit us in and told us to come ASAP and they fixed up our dogs paw quickly and with compassion. Our dog was treated so well, she was very comfortable and happy. Everyone was amazing and great to deal with; they even matched her bandage with her collar and put a little heart on it. The little things matter. It’s nice to walk out of a vet clinic and not feeling like you have to chose money over care; I left our last vet stressed and anxious every time I left our old clinic even if it was a regular check up. Thank you Nolan Hill Vet for the positive vet experience!

When you walk in to this clinic, the relaxing ocean blue interior and friendly staff welcome you, and guide you into your waiting room. After a short wait, we were seen by Vet Danielle Rowe. She immediately got down on the floor with my cat, petting and patting her down. While I was telling her my concerns, she was attentive to us both... she completed a checkup while my cat and I barely noticed! She recommended a medication for our cat, and was able to give me great advice along the way. I really reccomend a visit to this clinic, and Danielle! Bonus, they sent us a full review in an email, and my husband was able to read the medical notes, it's as if he was there at the visit! Will be taking my other fur babies in for sure!

Dr Rowe and her staff are amazing! We first took one of our dogs there, and it was under very sad circumstances. Dr Rowe gave us all the information and support we would need to make an informed decision, and when the time came, she was also there for us and sympathetic as we had to put our dog to sleep.
