Terrible experience. Been bringing my dog here for four years and the first year has been fine but now all they care about it money. If I want to get documents transfer I need to pay a fee, if I want to cancel an appointment there is a fee, if I want to change my appointment there is a fee. They do not care about the health care of the animals and pets that come into the clinic, they only care about money. They have a business model in mind they do not have your pets in mind. I would recommend any other clinic please, if you care about your pets do not go to this clinic

Everyone from the front desk staff to the veterinarians were very nice, prompt and professional. The veterinarian who did the check-up on our rabbit was very knowledgeable and took the time to listen to any concerns we had and gave very useful recommendations. The information given for booking of appointments, cost of services and animal report cards was detailed, yet straight to the point and clear. Thank you very much!

I volunteered for a few years with a animal rescue agency. My task was to transport dogs and cats that had no owners (being homed in peoples homes who had big hearts) to clinics within Calgary who provided great care until the animal could be rehomed. Unfortunately the rescue agency was forced to close its doors due to financial reasons, but I still remember a good proportion of these animals went to F.A.H. The rescue director told me that they had competitive rates, and she called them the most professional, cost effective, ethical clinic in NE Calgary. Now I have a couple of shih tzus, and it really was an easy choice which clinic would get my business F.A.H. I figure after a couple of years of delivering sick animals to select vets/clinics that I’ve got a pretty good nose for B.S. Falconridge Animal Hospital is the only clinic I trust with my hard earned dollar.

Falconridge Animal Hospital is the best. My pets are extremely well taken care of by all the staff. Our dog had a recent unfortunate case of lice and Dr. Rix took special care of her; doing research to try and solve the problem. She found a medication that worked when all others failed, and our St. Bernard got to keep her beautiful coat and no more scratching. Our pets love going to the vet, and we actually have to drag our dog out b/c she wants to stay longer. I have no hesitation recommending Falconridge Animal Hospital to friends and family. Keep up the great work!

I have nothing but good things to say about the Falconridge Animal Hospital. I adopted a "dump dog" (Sampson) who came with a few health issues, and along with my other rescue I needed someone reliable and cost effective for my "boys". Dr. Marion has been wonderful, she always makes me feel like my dog's well-being comes first, but also that she does care about the cost for me. Sampson required orthopedic surgery and despite not performing the surgery I still received a phone call from FAH asking how he was doing and to reaffirm that if I needed anything to let them know. I recommend this clinic all the time!

Unfortunately I will be taking my dog for her second round of shots at a different vet clinic. Today admittedly I was approximately 6 minutes late and they wouldn't see my dog. She told me to rebook for the next day and when j got home and checked my email I saw that the receptionist had sent me either an email right before she came to the door and sawme or right after I left to tell me if I was on my way to call and let them know or id have to reschedule. So within 20 second thier minds changed on seeing me. I find that super confusing. And quite honestly ridiculous after I waited on THEM last time . Always glad to kick a problem in the butt early though. They said they were booked back to back as I stood outside, not a soul in sight ( I realize this doesn't mean there weren't animals inside)

Excellent place for your pet. I have been here a couple times now and I have to say the service is excellent. Everyone is very friendly and you can tell they love pets here. Always happy to give our dog water or treats while he is there. We have seen 2 different vets there and both have been excellent. They don't mind getting down on the floor with our dog to check him out and don't get frustrated when he is excited to see them and tries to lick their face or get up close. We had a different vet we went to before but due to them not responding to our calls when we called we had to find another one and selected Falconridge. Both times we called for an appointment we were seen very quickly, one of which was an emergency and we were seen the same day and the other was this past weekend for some tick meds and a vaccine shot. Prices here are also very good compared to speaking with friends and comparing others in Calgary. Can't say enough good things about our experience here so far and we will continue to be back. Thanks!

The front staff is very accommodating with my fearful pup. And very professional. Dr.Marion is amazing with her and very patient. Never feel rushed out of the clinic or pushed any particular product unlike vets I have seen in the past. While Falconridge is a pricier then other animals hospitals, I feel it is definitely worth it for the services I have received.

Dr. Mortier has been absolutely wonderful trying to figure out what is ailing Jasper, my cat. He doesn’t love going to the doctor and will often lash out, but Dr. Mortier and her team were sympathetic and kind to Jasper each visit; even when he accidentally escaped his enclosure and wreaked a certain amount of havoc at the clinic, everyone was understanding (good-natured even!) about the incident. During his examinations and eventual procedure, Dr. Mortier took the time to talk me through my options, and explained all of the steps thoroughly, never rushing, and never making me feel like a burden. She would listen to my many questions and answer them to the best of her knowledge. I appreciated her calm and professional demeanour, as it helped me become less anxious about Jasper and what was happening to him. With a treatment plan now in place, I am hopeful for a positive outcome to Jasper’s health issues, thanks to the care he received at the Falconridge Animal Hospital.

Billed for procedures that never took place AGAIN so I will NOT be back. I stopped going to this clinic a couple of years ago as the vet was afraid of my dogs. Yes you read right! When checking my 7 month old male pup after dew claw removal and neutering the vet stood in the doorway while my dog laid there muzzled. I can't believe I ever paid for such lousy treatment. In an emergency, I took my small dachsund there and found out they have new vets. I thought I had found a nice place again. WRONG! I understand everyone needs to make a living but charging for things that don't take place is just plain wrong.

I love this place! Dr. Rix and her team are very thorough and caring. When my guinea pig was sick with a rare disease she went above and beyond to research our options and to try to help him. The staff are very friendly and it's just a great place to bring your beloved pets!

I LOVE this place. All the ladies love me there and it's more fun than the dog park! Well, almost (ruff ruff). My mom searched out a ton of different vets before deciding on this one. They answer any questions, even if you think they're silly questions. They are always kind and respectful and go above and beyond every time. They make their patients feel safe and secure. They actually LOVE dogs, which can be hard to find at other vets where we are treated like patients and nothing more. Even though I get needles and sometimes surgery, I can't ever wait to go back and to get loving from my ladies. When they took away my manhood, the incisions healed SUPER fast and I was back out at the park in no time! Prices are extremely reasonable and I would not hesitate to send any of my friends there!

Been with them since my dog was 6 weeks old, about 9 years now. I am sad to say this place is not what it used to be. Prices are unreasonable and I felt the staff do not care about anything but money. When lab results came back it was proof the exams I was charged individually for could have been combined. Not happy about paying $550 just for testing, for results to come back "unclear". In fact, I was asked to do some more testing before getting surgery. I had to ask a few times before they gave me an estimate for surgery, about $2500 to $3000. They did not call the primary owner but called the secondary number on the file, very unprofessional, did not even apologize for that. When I told them I am switching vets, I had to drive 30 minutes because they said I needed to pay a fee before they can transfer information, this used to be free. Over the week, they did not even transfer anything over to the new vet, my new animal clinic had to call and email them to ask for it. I know this is a hard time and perhaps places are short staffed, but that does not excuse the behaviour and unprofessionalism shown from this clinic. I would not return and would not recommend this place to anyone going forward. Ended up paying less than a thousand dollars including medication at the new clinic and felt like I was treated like a human being.

Everyone that works here is very warm, welcoming and caring. When we had to say goodbye to our greyhound they were so nice about the whole ordeal, they even signed a condolences card and sent it to our house. Its the thoughtful small things that truly make a difference. Dr. Rix will call me to follow up on the medication my other dog has to have. They always call to tell me when the shots are due. They don't charge for things that aren't necessary either. When I told them how much I was able to pay they worked with me to make sure our dog's medical needs were met within the budget I had to work with! I love these guys :)

Today, I got a call from a friend who was at this clinic with a sick cat. She had been to this clinic the day before and spent all her available funds on diagnostics. The diagnosis was stage 4 kidney disease. The cat went downhill overnight and she decided it was time to say goodbye. She asked me if she could borrow funds for euthanasia, and I offered her my credit card. However, office policy states no credit card payments over the phone. Although I do have a CCV(credit card verification) number on the back of my credit card, they would only accept my card in person. The dying cat and her distressed owner had to wait while I raced to the clinic to pre pay for the service. Falconridge Animal Hospital showed today that its money first, and that their compassion waits till after the bill is paid, in person. To avoid unnecessary suffering of pets and clients in the future, perhaps a policy review on telephone credit card payments is in order?

Update. Our senior pup has been called to heaven. Dr Rix was so compassionate throughout the whole process. She is truly amazing. She stayed with us the whole time and talked about Peanut as if he were her family member. We will never be able to repay her for the 15 years of love and patience she provided to Peanut. -We've been going to Falconridge animal hospital for over 12 years. We have a rescue that is afraid of new people and it took Dr Rix 4 years of patience to finally gain his trust. The office is great with very caring people. They truly care about your furbabies well being! When we moved out of the area, we continue to commute back to see Dr Rix.

I provided a review a while back and want to recant it as I believe I wrote it frustration to the front end girls because of their attitudes. As mentioned in my previous review, the doctors and their assistants have been super. They do treat my dogs great and have been very helpful over all these years. I do however, would like to see an improvement from their reception rushing me, unable to ask questions / inquire about the appointment. Maybe the COVID thing has gotten to everyone. I've been coming to this vet for 11 years and seeing Dr. Rix. She is always very genuine and she cares about my 2 dogs from the bottom of her heart. I feel that a veterinarian should always have the caring factor in their jobs. I've heard so many terrible stories with other vets with coworkers and friends. There were times when I'd book appointments with other doctors and they would try to upcharge me for unnecessary things. Dr. Rix understands during surgeries that clients sometimes has a budget and are only prepared to spend a certain amount. She does everything she can to accommodate, while making sure my dogs get the right care. I'm always able to email Dr. Rix to ask for advice on my dogs. She takes extra time to show me how to clean their ears and shows me how to brush their teeth without the struggle. I'm so blessed to have Dr. Rix looking after my dogs and I refuse to go see any other doctor. She's the most honest and kind human being and we're so grateful!!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINIC. They call themselves locally trained and educated but most of the vets in Calgary are locally educated. I brought my dog three times to this clinic, the receptionist was always rude as usual and Dr. Rix had no clue what she was doing with my nine years old Roxie. She offered me expensive tests and x-rays to find out what was going on with my dog. I decided to go to another clinic where they did only blood tests and figured out my dog had low thyroid and started treatment right away. i don't recommend this clinic besause MONEY IS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT.

I appreciate all they've done for my pups. They are very knowledgeable and will walk me through the exam very thoroughly. They are caring, sympathetic and I have no words to describe how comfortable they make myself and pups feel. Always clean, follows protocols like any other medical clinic. Reading some of the one star reviews and it seems to be about cost. This clinic has never made me feel uncomfortable about price. They always give me options and which path I want to take at no pressure at all. This clinic follows basic medical practice. Coming from a medical office myself, if you're late for an appointment and cancel last minute, it is a waste of their time and could have booked another appointment who needs it more urgently. I will always choose Falconridge Animal Hospital as my Vet Clinic. I trust them 100%. Thanks for the years of care!

I honestly do not think I can put into words how phenomenal this clinic is. I have been bringing both my dogs to this clinic for over 10 years now. My family and I even moved to a different part of the city but we still make the 30 minute drive to have my dogs cared for at the Falconridge Animal Hospital. Dr Rix and her staff have been nothing short of amazing with both my dogs ranging from checkups, surgeries, and a tough diagnosis. They have demonstrated extreme patience with one of my dogs that does not do well with strangers/vet visits. They have always been great at recommending different treatment options and have always been respectful of whatever decisions we have made. In the past year one of my dogs became ill and was diagnosed with heart failure. I was completely devastated with this diagnosis; but Dr Rix and Dr Vandervalk were extremely informative and sensitive to his needs and our decision for treatment. My family and I had prepared for the worst and did not expect our boy to make it beyond this summer given how quickly he had become ill. Yet with the guidance of Dr Rix his condition is now being managed and he has turned around completely. We are hoping to get a few more years with our boy thanks to her support and advice. I know hard decisions will eventually come my way one day, but I am confident in the ongoing support my family and I will continue to receive from the amazing staff at this clinic. Thank you for all you have done for my boys and all you continue to do for them. Your hearts are truly made of gold.

Don’t take your pets here!!! Money is all they care about!!! The prices at this clinic are insanely high!! My husband took our dog in here as she had been sick for a couple days the quote for blood work and an exam was $400???? If we wanted xrays it went up to $600!!!!! Paid the exam fee and left. Took her elsewhere and paid far less. The worst part of this clinic was when my husband questioned what these tests were for and what kind of answers we would get from them the young man (who didn’t look old enough to be a doctor!) said “so we can try and diagnose the cause of your dogs symptoms but I mean you can just take her home and let her continue to be sick and she likely won’t live much more than a couple more weeks if that’s what you want” inconsiderate and overpriced!!! Go somewhere else save yourself the hassle!!!!

LOVE this Vet Hospital! We brought our dog here for a second opinion after being told she would need to be admitted at another hospital for two days observation and at a cost of 3700.00. They managed to fit her in on very short notice and treated her for 24hrs and for less than 1/4 of the price. Dr. Rix is knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. We are very grateful.

I have a friend whos dog was scheduled for surgery for probably kindey stone. there was testing involved..instead of having common sense and doing it all at once, they spread it out for no reason, so the bill was extremely high and she didnt find out until she had to come and pay, also to find out the testing was not mandatory. They didnt even tell her..after telling them countless times to call her, they called her boyfriend instead. When she asked for a copy of her dogs lab results they wouldnt even give it to her. So when she went to pay, she broke down when they told her the bill.Then when she asked for any financial programs to help, they didnt really know answers to anything, and they didnt seem to care either - no apologies or anything. Then they said if she couldnt pay, they cannot proceed.

The staff are exceptionally friendly, caring and knowledgeable! There was and still is clear communication. The clinic is nice and clean with a calm atmosphere. The outcome for our beloved cat, Gary was not what we were expecting or wanted to hear, but in the end all of the staff at the clinic were so comforting and supportive. The doctors ordered allergy syrum without asking us at all and then sent collection agency after us to harass us. We were here for good 3 years and when we did not see results for our dog allergies we asked them to send our dog file to another doctor for opinion. As soon as we asked to see another doctors, the attitude went from being friendly to treating us like we cheated them or something. Still finding to get my dogs records transferred over as we paid thousands in multiple allergy tests. STAY AWY from these guys and find an honest veterinarian who cares about your dog rather than cash in you pocket.

Staffs are good but I'm not sure if I'll bring my bunny here anymore. I've been keeping a very close eye on my bunny that's super prone to GI stasis (4 times in the last 4 years and medications works every time). I was told that they are not sure if the usual medications that are prescribed are effective on rabbits and hence, other than a dose of pain medication and some subcutaneous fluids (after I requested for it), I was told hopefully she doesn't need to go to emergency this time because it is Sunday the next day. I was also told to 'come back' for xray if she doesn't get better and keep doing what I'm already doing for the past 3-5 days! Obviously, there are no improvements and things are worse. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Falconridge Animal Hospital helped my parents dog, and helped my mom learn to trust veterinarians again. The staff was pleasant and welcoming, and the vet took the time to ensure my parents dog was comfortable, while still examining her. For the first time in a long time, my mom feels confident taking the dog to the vet on her own, and I trust that she is getting the best service each time she attends.

All the staff are really friendly and are fantastic with all of my animals. They are very gentle and caring. My cat isn't always too kind to vets and he hasn't had a problem being handled by their staff. Very patient.

I took my sick cat to get checked at the Falconridge vet hospital and the staff and vet were amazing. Staff was friendly and professional. The vet was great with my cat and wasn’t looking to suck as much money out of me as possible like most vets are. Will definitely be coming back

I just moved here from BC and I called around for my new puppy for shots and spaying, this place was thee highest in prices in all the city! Outrageous. The receptionist was also very rude on the phone as well and almost snotty when I gasped at their prices! I definitely will drive across the city for cheaper fees abroad and not hearing a snotty chipmunk on the phone!

Our experience was directly with Dr. Rix. It was our experience that led us to believe, like other contributors, that all this clinic cares about is getting your money, and they got it from us by subjecting our dog to an endless number of tests, and the corresponding expensive costs. After hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars in tests and advising us that surgery may be required, and being no closer to determining what was wrong with our dog, we took our dog to another vet, who was able to quickly and effectively diagnosis the issue at a fraction of the cost. Our dog was treated effectively with inexpensive medication. Our attempts to "resolve" the issue with Dr. Rix were fruitless. Its too bad one star is the lowest rating I can give.

Extremely disappointed in their services. We have 2 cats (male & female) Earlier this summer (2020) we took our newly adopted cat (male) for check up, vaccines, chip, and to be neutered. Then a few weeks later we took our other kitty (female) for a check up and to bring her vaccines up to date. When we booked the appointment, we informed them we were concerned that she might have ear mites (we noticed that she was scratching her ears and shaking her head), we mentioned this again when we dropped her off at the clinic for her appointment. When she was returned returned to us, the vet contacted us and informed us that she had no ear infection and no ear mites and that her ears were normal. On the on the health check report it say "ears appear normal" we received from them it also confirmed "Ears appear normal". Fast forward 3-4 weeks later, we woke this morning and notice that our cat ear was swollen and we could tell she was in pain. Call the vet at 9 AM to book an emergency appointment, no can do. We were told they could see her a few days from now at 4:30 pm. We decline to make an appointment and decided to take her to an emergency vet hospital. Results, our cat has a SEVERE case of ear mites which has now caused an hematoma. The vet said it so bad that you cannot miss it. Now how could our cat gone from "ears appear normal" to SEVERE ear mite infection w/hematoma in less than 4 weeks, seriously??? We paid approx. $1,000 in vet services at the Falconridge Animal Services this summer for our two cats. For the vet and the technician to have missed a severe case of ear mites this is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Incredible Vet office! The staff are always so welcoming and wonderful, genuinely love the animals and care for the well being of the animal. I have been a long time client with them and have taken all of my animals to them, they work hard to ensure the best possible outcome for the animal and are so affectionate and knowledgeable towards the animal. The staff always recognize my animals even if its been a while. I feel very comfortable and confident having my animals in their care.

The most sincere and kind staff I’ve ever come across. They took care of an injured cat we bought in and cleaned him up very nicely. They are very considerate and very fair with prices. Will be coming back more in the future and highly recommend.

I went through one of the hardest times of my life in this fantastic little hospital for sick furry family members. They helped me make the hardest decision of my life, I had to let go of my best friend of 17 years. I would’ve done anything for him even to give my own life if just so he can get to stay on this earth for a little while longer ,he was that special of a soul. I’ve made cat haters into cat adaptors because of him. He went very peacefully and calmly in my arms. The love and support that I got from the staff afterwards was amazing I couldn’t of asked for better people around me. Thank you for helping me through the hardest time of my life.
