4 stars because I only dealt with one of the lady’s one time so I can’t say they are all as great as her. She calmly and understandingly took my mean little chihuahua in (with no muzzle) to clip his nails
I felt frustrated and left alone because it seemed that rules and regulations where more important than the well-being of my cat. I didn't have a sense that the needs of my cat were considered or that I was listened to and heard.as her owner. I would have wished for more flexibility, understanding and help.
Don't expect much help from the cat though, if it is working the front desk!
Talked to this woman on the phone, heavy Irish accent very difficult to understand. Ask her to talk clear and slower. She will only tell me any fee’s visit price nothing else. Some vets are charging $100.00 a visit !!!
The staff are so helpful, communicative and most importantly gentle with pets. My slightly jumpy pup got 3 vaccine updates in just a minute with out even flinching.
Veterinarians are extremely helpful and spend time to explain everything. Best vet clinic in Vancouver!
Polite, friendly, compassionate and quick, reasonably priced
This place is advertised as a walk-in, so we go in as walk-ins and are told they are completely booked. So they don't know what walk-in means so don't chance it and make an appointment.
We've been here many times already. The staff here is very friendly and super helpful. The doctor is very experienced and patient too. They are the professionals that you can definitely rely on for your furry kids!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. After going to a highly rated but VERY questionable veterinary practice in Vancouver, we finally brought our cat and dog to the clinic. I must admit, at first I thought, "Huh, it's in a pet store." It might not be the first place I would have thought to take our pets, but we love our neighborhood Tisol, and it's close by in case of emergency. We have had great experiences here. Totally exceeded expectations. Dr. Uri and Dr. Hannah are both very knowledgeable. Together, they have now correctly diagnosed and treated: our Boston Terrier's knee problem, my cat's weird extra rib thing, an ear infection my cat has probably had for years, allergies, etc. Just when we were thinking Vancouver was some weird unregulated veterinary wasteland, we're so happy we found competent, professional, caring vets right down the street at the pet store. They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need or extract all your cat's teeth to finance their vacation to Thailand. They do urge gold standard veterinary medicine, and while some people might not want to pay for diagnostic tests, etc., I believe they would only order a test if they felt it was truly in the pet's best interest.
So kind and up front. We are very glad we came here.
I had to see a doctor for my dogs urgently and I was looking for walking clinic. I called this vet and they were able to accommodate us within an hour. The doctor was super nice and knowledgeable.
We love you guys! :-)
I came here after being unsatisfied with other vets in the area. I'm glad I did. Within 5 minutes of talking to Melanie, I got more advice than I did with multiple visits to my other vet. She knew her stuff and gave me plenty of dietary advice. Safe to say this will be where I come from now on.
I have nothing but good experiences here. The staffs are friendly and helpful. You should see how happy my dog saw Dr. Shura. It was a reunion after almost 7 years. That says a lot how much fond memories my dog was with Dr. Shura previously. Unlike some vets that I have experienced in the past that blown up a small matter out of proportion and requested never ending and expensive examinations, I like Dr. Shura's much sensible approach towards curing our hairy baby.
Thank you Dr Burstyn for your helpful recommendations that improved our cat's experience.
You can tell these vets truly care about the animals
We had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Kevin Shura at the clinic. He was a real treat in what was a stressful situation. He treated the symptoms as presented and was honest and upfront about associated costs and his recommendations. All the office staff were pleasant and friendly - having a sick pet can be a bit stressful and they made us feel comfortable. Their rates are fair and the service is extraordinary - while the limited hours might be a bit inconvenient if it isn't an emergency situation it is worth the wait to take your furry friends there!
This walk in clinic is not open as per the hours stated on their website. They do not answer their phone or have a recording stating their opening hours, it just rings out.
Every time I come here the vet is so welcomintg and give great service! I will continue to bring my dog here.
We recently moved homes so we had to find a new vet in our area. I saw the reviews for Vancouver East Veterinary Walk-In Clinic so we booked our cat in here. Sadly, this was a huge mistake on our part. We took our cat in for her annual checkup. All of the documents were transferred from our previous vet to this one, so it should have her up to date vaccine information and other health background. Unfortunately, Dr. Shura didn't even pay attention to her vaccination history anyways, and despite our cat having gotten her 3-year vaccines in 2018, he said it was done in 2017 and then vaccinated her anyways. I didn't notice this until I got home and saw my previous invoices from the previous vet that said she last got the vaccination in 2018. A few days after we got home from the vet, my cat's hair started falling out in the area where the vaccination was injected. We tried calling Vancouver East Veterinary Walk-In Clinic on Wednesday at around 10AM and there was no pick-up (they are closed most of the week, open only for limited hours in the afternoon), no voice mail, and no emergency line you can call. We ended up having to drive back to our old vet to get her looked at because that was our only option. I understand that adverse side effect may happen after a vaccination, but I am very disappointed that the vet misread her vaccination history and gave her something she didn't need, and also we weren't able to reach them or an alternate number. When we were getting our cat looked at, Mr. Shura said to us that he doesn't like to overvaccinate animals because he'll get our money through teeth cleanings anyways (he had recommended a teeth cleaning for our cat). I couldn't tell if he was a vet or a used car salesman.
Excellent clinic. The entire staff if friendly and professional. We go to Dr. Shura and could not recommend him enough. He is super calming and friendly to our dog and is very approachable to us. Always making sure we have time for questions. They give us the feeling that they are always covering all bases and check ups are thorough. We got our dog neutered there and all went great.
I brought my dog in because he was vomiting. The staff was amazing. I had a couple of follow up phone calls . Thank you very much!
I've been to this vet a handful of times, but have not had a positive experience. They're supposed to be a walk-in clinic, but whenever I walk in, they don't have any vets available. Either they're not there or busy for the next 1-2 hours. Fine, so I tried calling in for an appointment before going. Appointment confirmed by the front desk, then I must have gotten 2-3 calls asking me to reschedule for various reasons. Finally settled on an appointment, then I go in and I still have to wait a long time to be seen. Every other time I had to make an appointment and every time I had to wait 15-30 mins. Then there were the issues with the food. I was sold a bag of prescription food that expired within a month of the purchase date, but I didn't know until I got home. I asked to return it, but I was told they had a no return policy. They said I was told that I was buying almost expiring food and was given a discount. I was not told this, and the invoice didn't note this either. Finally spoke to a manager and had to settle for a credit for half the amount. Another issue with food, I was quoted one price over the phone and when I went in to pay for it, they raised the price. My dog needed it, so I couldn't say no... Not happy. The vets there are good though, and attentive... So it seems the issues really are from the front desk staff only. It's a bit of a shame, as this is a convenient location.
The vet and all the staff here are so kind and super helpful and their pricing is very reasonable. We had a bad experience previously at hemlock animal hospital and were left very much in the dark about my senior cats kidney disease diagnosis. The vet here at Vancouver east took the extra time to sit with me and explain everything in detail and come up with a treatment plan, and explain what our options will be in the future when her condition worsens. I'm so thankful we brought her here and got a second opinion. They will be our regular vet going forward with all pets, present and future.
Everyone was a great help with my cat,who has developed allergies. Will always go back.
It was great experience to combine visit to Tisol with veterinarian’s examination. My dog had skin problems for a long time. With treatment recommended, we saw improvement right away.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! After reading the reviews for this place I took my puppy here for his shots, they kept telling me that he had access ear wax and hairy ears that needed to be plucked at 30 bucks a pop. After 2 months of trusting this doctor I went to an animal hospital to get a second opinion. Turns out he had a SEVERE ear infection and had to be SEDATED so they could clean them out. HE COULD HAVE LOST HIS HEARING! HE COULD HAVE LOST HIS EYESIGHT, HE COULD HAVE DIED!!! This vet is incompetent. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!
We’ve had our cat for 19 years and this is one of the best vet experiences we’ve ever had. The doctor was experienced and knowledgeable and very compassionate. A thoroughly great experience even though our cat is sick.
Very friendly and helpful staff/ Veterinarians with the convenience of being in a pet store. Such a great atmosphere to take my pets. I love it!
Great honest VET who showed they really cared for my pup. Dr Shura was amazing, very calming and even had my dog licking his face - which is very unusual in a vet visit as hes normally petrified but Dr Shura made us both feel in good hands. Could not recommend them enough!
Stay away from this clinic and ARBUTUS WEST ANIMAL do not trust Dr Uri Burstyn
Dr. Uri Burstyn is amazing; adept, meticulous, thorough, frank, knowledgeable, experienced, incredibly helpful, genuine, and kind. In my experience with my sweet feline, his expertise is unparalleled, and he goes above and beyond. He was already of immense help before he'd ever spoken with me as I've learned so much I'd never heard before about caring for an older cat from his YouTube channel, and when I ran into great difficulty diagnosing a chronic health issue, his input was exceptional and invaluable. I'm so thankful for him.
Located inside the pet store, friendly animal loving staff and thorough pet doctors. Introduction of my pup to the vet was loaded with treats to ensure a good experience for the pup. The vet I spoke with was very informative and listened to my every concern, also gave me a earful of recommendations for a healthy pup. Very satisfied.
The people working at Vancouver East clinic are professional, and knowledgeable. My cat's issues were resolved by changing in diet without any medication! This new clinic location is great, plenty of parking and we are shopping at Tisol regularly.
Super friendly and helpful. Same prices as the SPCA but provide an amazing level of service. Will be coming back again.
It is a great idea to have the clinic, groomer, and pet supply at the same location. The staff was friendly and helpful. i got advice on my cat's dietary problem right away.
I read many of the reviews and am not surprise by their outstanding comments. I had the great fortune to find Dr. Uri a couple of years ago. My beloved 4 yr old, QQ had a growth under his tongue. I took my little guy in for a checkup and Uri found it. Was not easy to see but he did it!! Then he repeated the miracle last month. QQ's growth is again, not malignant and I don't have the words to to express how grateful I am and how much I want other patients to know what an outstanding person and vet Uri is. I have had the opportunity to recently have worked on a project with him, outside of the office. He shines, not only as a vet, but as warm, sincere, and fun person. There's a bed commercial in which one of the speakers says, "I wish I could give the ____ bed more than 5 stars. I feel the same about Uri. Andy Krieger, QQ's dad Vancouver Aug 4, 2019
