As of day this business has a score of 4.3 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 67 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is really high, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we can conclude that the rating is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Veterinarian.
My sisters and I saw all of the great reviews on this clinic and decided to trust Dr. Mahdi with our Pomeranian, Lotus. This ultimately led to the death of my dog. We brought Lotus in on May 13th after noticing that she was extremely fatigued and that there was swelling on her left cheek. We were told that Lotus needed bloodwork in order to see if she was healthy enough to go under anesthesia to extract her teeth (which most likely caused the swelling) and that it would be best if Lotus stayed with them for monitoring. We left her in their care from around 9am-5pm so that she could receive IV fluids. The next day we found out that she was too weak to go under due to her anemia & low platelet levels. We allowed Lotus to stay for another day. Lotus also received an ultra sound, which thankfully came back with nothing major. We were told by the doctor’s assistant that Lotus had a high chance of survival, therefore we remained at ease. After receiving Lotus back, we were told that we should wait around 10 days for her dental surgery so that she could become healthier. He gave us antibiotics and pain medication for her swelling. After bringing Lotus home, she did not want to eat any of her recovery food from the vet. Worried, I brought Lotus to the vet the next day. The doctor said that Lotus should be having an appetite. He proceeded to give her a shot of antibiotics and pain medication again and sent me away. He never told me the side effects of the medications. After being worried that Lotus was not getting any better, I brought Lotus in again on Saturday, May 18th. Dr. Mahdi recommended that I let Lotus stay for another day, to which I declined because I felt that it was not improving her state. He gave Lotus another shot of antibiotics and pain medicine free of charge. Dr. Mahdi informed me that he would not be working on Sunday and he would only be coming in for emergencies. On the next day, Lotus woke up screaming and urinated on herself. I quickly called the clinic in tears and was told by the receptionist that the doctor was not going to come in and that it would be best if I just went to an emergency vet. She also said “goodluck” in a careless tone. My sister quickly brought Lotus to the emergency vet, where they took more blood tests. Dr. Mahdi’s office took a while to send all of Lotus’ test. The doctor at the emergency vet told us that Lotus was in CRITICAL condition with extremely low levels of red and white bloods cells and platelets. She also had lymph node swelling that was easily detected by touch (something Dr. Mahdi never noticed). Lotus was receiving fluids once again and other injections. She cried in pain constantly for 30 mins to an hour straight. After she stopped, the doctor came in and told us that we had to see Lotus immediately. Her heart was failing on her and we were given the options of CPR but with no certainty that she would survive. We spent our last moments with her, watching her deteriorate and lose consciousness. Because Dr. Mahdi was so concerned with Lotus’ cheek swelling, he completely disregarded the fact that she was anemic with a list of other major problems. He did nothing to help with her anemia or to find the source of it. He made it seem like if she just ate the recovery food, she would be fine. He just wanted her to get better for the dental surgery. A few days later, Dr. Mahdi’s assistant called saying that we missed our appointment for Lotus’ blood work. My sister explained that Lotus actually passed away and that she would like to talk to the doctor. The assistant showed no sympathy at all. Dr. Mahdi finally called a few days later but we were unavailable. Always do your research when finding a clinic that is right for your dog. Just because there are good reviews, does not mean that your dog is in the best hands. Seek different opinions and don’t just settle for one vet.
Professional, helpful, nice, and competent. Respond fast and book you in quickly too. Doctor explains things in detail and does not judge pet owners for not knowing things, unlike some other clinics I’ve been to in the past. I can communicate easily with staff and they answered my questions about cat kidney disease and care over the phone. I had a hard time finding a reliable clinic and they are the best so far.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable vet. Definitely recommend this animal hospital to everyone.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable Vet. He really cares about the well being of your furry loved one.
A great place to spend a lot of cash to keep your loved one happy and alive.
Dr. Mahdi and his staff are polite and professional. I took my 3 long haired cats for a lion cut and it was the best cut they've ever had. Dr. Mahdi also took the time to go over possible health issues as they age and recommended prevention steps. I highly recommend this neighborhood clinic!
I have been going to dr mehdi for 5-6 years He is number one and we continue vising him where ever he goes
Go here if you want to buy pet food. Go here for your pets vaccination. Do NOT take your senior dog here! After recommending a series of unnecessary testings he didn't even bother to show up to his own appointments. You've been warned.
The most compassionate and caring man I've ever met! I felt completely comfortable and properly informed of my cats situation. They took us in right away and the cost was better then any place I've ever been to. If you're in the neighborhood or want an amazing veterinarian go see this man.
Really love this clinic and the staff. They are very caring and professional. The doctor is amazing at communication and giving you options that suite your pets needs best. Been going to DR. Mehdi for a number of years now and I'm never disappointed in his hard work.
Friendly service for my puppy
Doctor and staff are very nice and caring.
Always great with my kitty, very thorough when she has issues, gentle with her and answers all my questions. The ladies at the front are friendly and honest. Always calls me back with results. Would recommend anyone to visit this vet clinic.
You always spoil Max. Thanks girls. ❤
.Very good doctor
1st time visit this animal clinic for puppy vaccines, First impression is pretty good and the staffs are very friendly too, but don’t quite understand why we can only meet the doctor at the reception area and didn’t get into the room with my puppy for check up and taking the shots....Don’t really know what they have done to my puppy? Our first experience like this..! Secondly, Dr. seems not to be too patience and didn’t want to answer any questions not related to this vaccine! It just makes me feel that he didn’t show too much caring to our dogs but rather the business only! I really hope I’m wrong, but asking myself, is too busy a good reason for being rushed...? I don’t really support this attitude, Sorry!
They were wonderful and informative on the phone and even better in person. So happy to have a great physician for our kitties.
Dr. Mahdi is a very experienced vet - answered about a dozen questions on age/hips. Had great visit here with my shep, even though she is the worst patient ever. Was in for blood draw + routine vaccines, they took the time to let her calm down and got it done fast when she was finally ready. Would recommend again...
dr.madhi is wonderful with all my cats (even batman who is totally nuerotic)! the receptionist jen is also very good at accommodating my needs. this veterinary practice definitely gets 5 ☆'s from me???? and all my cats???????????????? would highly recommend it!!
Excellent Animal Clinic with very kind staffs and amazing services .
This is a detailed review – but owners be aware before bringing your beloved animals here! I have read through the other reviews here and while it is of course nice to have a “friendly vet” it isn’t enough – you need to have trust and confidence in a vet and after our experience at this point and how they handled everything we don’t have either. Our dog is 11 and while she has some fat deposit “lumps” our normal vet has confirmed they are not worrisome. We brought her in as she was having prolonged diarrhea and while she was eating wasn’t interested in her kibble. Our normal vet couldn’t see her in a short timeframe so we took her here as it was close and they could see her. Due to COVID protocols you are not allowed to accompany your pet, which is unfortunate as it only heightens their anxiety. After her time in the exam room the vet told my husband that due to her age and “lumps” (which weren’t a concern to us) she should have bloodwork and an x-ray. The costs of these procedure were not disclosed and no thoughts were shared on potential diagnosis or what they suspected the problem to be. My husband should have been more pushy with the specifics as these were not offered or disclosed and he was concerned for our dog. Once done again no details were shared – we were told we would get the results from both in the morning. However, we were saddled with an outrageous $700 bill. “an x-ray” turned out to be 6 and was never disclosed to us! My husband was also given medication for the diarrhea which was our concern going in. Of course as suspected after all of this the results of these x-rays and blood work came back normal and after 1 day of medicine she got completely better and by day 2 was back to normal! We since have consulted another Vet about the situation and diagnosis – we were told what was completed was completely unnecessary and a good vet always explains the theory and costs AHEAD of time. What should have been done is medication first and if no improvement is shown within 48 hours you proceed to diagnostic testing (potentially the blood work and x-ray). My husband tried to explain our displeasure to the Vet when the called with our results, which were all normal and was given no sympathy for the situation or the undisclosed costs. As a result of course while our next visit was offered for free we will not be returning to a vet I cannot trust. While we did agree to some of these diagnostic procedures (that should not have been suggested in the first place) we own that decision - however the additional x-rays that were not at all disclosed should never have been performed. This visit could have been much different for us and we did give them the opportunity to the right thing, but as is stands they have not and we want to spread a word of warning to others. There are many dog owners in our community and we will be sharing our experience!
Nice doctor whom we have been seeing for many years. The reception girl is nice and professional as well.
Dr. Mahdi and his team are the best. I have nothing but good things to say about their care and compassion for the pets they treat. They provided our Cleo with the best care possible.
Dr. Mahdi is a kind, compassionate and caring vet. We have been bringing our beloved Max to him for the past 4 months now. He is gentle and he always takes his time. Max is a 100 lb Great Pyrenees and he loves Dr. Mahdi. Elle and Tanya at the reception are awesome too. They are very kind and always have a smile everytime we drop by for a visit. We are very thankful we live close by. Thanks Dr. Mahdi! ????????????????
This clinic is amazing. Dr. Madhi is an incredible vet and he truly cares for you and your animal. The ladies at the front desk are fantastic and friendly. I truly am so grateful that I found this veterinarian when my family and I moved to the area 2 years ago. I have an asthmatic senior cat now and they take such good care of him when we need it!
Great staff, super Dr.
I chose this clinic without reading the reviews; my friend suggested this place to me, and I am glad I listened to her. Dr Mahdi is very caring and answers all my questions, which are too many btw, very patiently. Now that I read the reviews, I am glad that the only negative reviews are about “unnecessary” tests. I would rather do some extra tests for my dog and get normal results than see a vet who suggests diagnosis without testing. Thanks Dr Mahdi and the team for your care and kindness.

Apparently this veterinarian never heard of a cat being stressed out in a new home environment and refusing to eat/drink for a few days, should had known this was a red flag and walked right out. He sold me on the idea that black crust on my cat's eye is not normal, so she had respiratory infection. It was just a happy coincidence for him that I said she sneezed once during the consultation, so he used that for his case. I was almost certain she had it given how he described it, asking about the efficacy of the breeder I got her from and had I asked if she had any issues. I'm glad she's fine and has no issues, but he was also quick to prescribe medication too and said that it's possible we need to change medication depending on diagnosis. Can't help but feel like I was hustled out of over $300 for these tests and medication, straight up con man. Also these vets are like sales people, they'll sell you all these "recommendations" to get every penny out of you.
In the clinic of dr. Mahdi observed that my dog is confident, and I am happy about that, he is an excellent veterinarian, who inspires confidence. I love the attention and care they give to my dog and me. I recommend dr. Mahdi for being an amazing professional. I am so grateful for the way my dog is cared for. All their team is excellent, thanks they too. My best wishes for the Champlain Animal Clinic. Thanks dr. Mahdi.
Dr. Mahdi is an awesome Doctor and more importantly an awesome friend. He was my first veterinarian for my first pet. He is very understanding and genuinely worries with you when your pet is sick. He really cares about the animals in his care and it shows. Thank you for your help with everything and for being incredibly passionate about your job!
Good Vet
Dr. Mahdi is very informative and friendly. Jen and Cait are extremely patient and helpful, and Dr. Kamran who fills in from time to time is also great.
Close by good help linked with Killarney Animal Hospital
The staff is absolutely amazing
Dr. Mahdi is a compassionate, caring and awesome veterinarian. I have been visiting the clinic for years with my doodles as they have aged. I have always had good service and felt confident with the care my dogs received. When there has been an urgent situation they have made the time for me which as a pet owner is very comforting. I fully recommend this clinic and you always have choices to get second opinions but I fully trust Dr. Mahdi. The staff is to be commended on their professionalism as well. Thank you from my family.
Avoid this place. They overcharge for no reason!
I have been taking both my cats to Dr.Mahdi for almost 5 years now and he has always advised me on the best course of action for the treatment of the cats based on my budget. He treats the cats with care and attention and I am confident in his judgement. Thank you Dr.Mahdi.
Trash service. They will trick you for your money when they can. They tricked me from a 70$ bill to a 500 dollar bill. I went in to take off my puppy’s rotten tooth and calls me back later saying they extracted 7 tooth. Then I went to another doctor and told them what happened. They said they aren’t allowed to do that without the permisssion of the owner. BIG SCAM DONT GO!!!!!!
