Here you will be able to see the feddbacks of people like you who have information of the products and services of Burquitlam Animal Hospital Ltd. (Veterinarian) in Burnaby territory (Canada).
At the present the business has a score of 4.7 stars out of 5 and the rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is practically the highest, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we can say that the evaluation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Veterinarian.
Awesome the staff are excellent
I have been to this clinic in the past for many years, the doctors and staff have been great especially Dr Hopkins ....I ran out of a particular food for my cat , not many vets open on Sunday ,when I called in to inquire about the food , and ask questions I was greeted by an absolutely Abrupt , and very rude receptionist ....(Helen) ..I made a point of letting her know how I felt and the way she was addressing herself to me , instead she went silent for a minute , then came back on and asked me if I had calmed down LOL ...... An absolute disgrace and shame to have this woman represent this veterinary ...This to me was a reputable clinic but after this I wonder ....so unprofessional ..... ????
They are clean, professional friendly are great with the animals.
Dr. Vanstone has been an immensely supportive veterinarian for our family with our reactive rescue dog. Her patience, warmth, compassion, and understanding has been remarkable for helping us along with our journey. We're very fortunate to have found the Burquitlam Animal Hospital team.
I have been bringing my dogs and cats to BAH for roughly 20 years now. Dr. Hopkins, Dr. Kurtz, Dr. Connell have all been wonderful (I'm sure Dr. Vanstone is too). And I really love the staff as well. Norma, Kaylie, Krista, all the girls. No one likes having to take their pet to the vet, it's usually stressful and scary, but when it's a requirement, it's nice to know there are such caring people on hand, who take the time to get to know you and your pet. I highly recommend this team!!
Very careing people great vet
The best bet for a vet!! All three of my kitties have been going here since they were bitty kittens and the staff are amazing with them, whether it be routine vacations or my big old tom cat sneaking out and getting into fights, they are always there with kindness and compassion. Even my kitties don't mind going there. Especially my big boy. He knows somehow they will make it better from a calming voice or reassuring scratch on the head. Love these guys...
They did a good job last time, cat didn't complain too much and she doesn't seem worried about going back this time. She didn't freak out when I said Vet so I guess we'll be going back. They were on time, gentle and treated her like another being, and they weren't hugely over priced. What more could I ask for - but wait! they are open on Sundays which is a huge bonus!
Amazing place that I have been going to for around 10 years.
Dr. Chong is the most empathetic vet I've met by far, my dog is in good hands with her, she wants the best and least painful procedures for the animals and only suggests necessary operations, unlike some clinics out there who will do anything to rack up your medical bill. She is thorough with explaining after-care and patient with answering questions and concerns. 10/10 would recommend. The only issue with the hospital is the hours and rather difficult to book an appointment with doctors, you often need to get the day after your try to schedule appointment, not great for accidents that need to be looked at ASAP.
Great staff. Busy like most places, but typically runs on time and you don't feel rushed. Vets are slightly slow to respond to questions etc over email but, see the it's busy comment. They will get back to you.
Arthur & Chester are really happy with the care & attention they get from everybody at Burquitlam Animal Hospital.
Really nice and kind staff. They answered my calls almost immediately and seemed just a concerned about my cat as I was. Sadly, it was very unexpecting and we had to euthanize my cat. But, they were super kind and allowed us some personal time to touch and say goodbye to our cat one more time. Yes, they didn't tell us about pricing or anything til after but still would rate them a five out of five :)
Been taking our dog here since she was a puppy and have had wonderful, caring experiences. Recently went for a visit during COVID times and the company is taking extra precautions to keep pet owners safe. I appreciate it!
Dr. Hopkins is awesome and they even accepted a payment program for me because I had a major credit card but still they were very very nice
Burquitlam has been providing care for both my PADS Puppies-in-Training for years, so when I moved to the neighborhood, I knew right where to take my own pets. The care I receive is exceptional, and they are truly amazing people. Our 7 year old sheltie went in for a routine dental and they discovered she had a severe infection, their quick diagnosis and surgery likely saved her life, but more importantly the care they gave her in the months that followed has put her in better health than she's ever been...her coat is gorgeous and eyes are sparkling again, and for the first time in her life she happy, bouncing and LOVING playing with our puppies-in-training (instead of being annoyed by them)... thanks for all you do BAH vets and staff!!
There is not enough stars on the internet to rate The Burquitlam Animal Hospital! I want to show all our family love to Dr. Kurtz, Dr. Hopkins and Staff at BAH! Since we moved to Canada, we tried different veterinarians to take care of our beloved Neptune. It took a while until we finally arrived at BAH for the first time. Since our first visit, staff and doctors where always loving and caring towards Neptune and very friendly and understanding towards Neptune's humans! As a veterinarian myself, I can say that at BAH, it is not only a business! They care for your beloved pet, they care for you! Thank you Dr. Kurtz and Dr. Hopkins! Thanks Paige, Norma, Stephanie, Maddison, Katrina and all other staff members! The Letter we recently got in the mail touched our hearts! It was totally unexpected.
Honesty is your Best Policy! Every Dr. that I've dealt with at this clinic has been very honest to the point that you actually save money. Ask yourself how often does that happen? Not often enough! I'm a proud mother of two rescue dog's named Oreo and Ziggy and they both deserve the very best health care ... and I wouldn't take them anywhere else!
I have been going to burquitlam animal hospital with my pets for years. Brilliant personalized service and they really care.
The people were awesome here. Took good care of my pup.
Dr Vanstone and her team are extremely professional and caring. We've brought all of our dogs here for a number of years, and are very confident in the care and treatment they receive.
Knowledgeable Staff
Love this business!
Great and quick visit.
Great staff..
Great caring staff! Have been taking good care of our Fur babies for many years.
We used to use this Vet Clinic but after so many rude encounters and just unfriendly staff we have decided to switch to somewhere we know will actually be helpful. For example, the most recent rude encounter with them was when my boyfriend called asking if they had any medicated flea shampoo or any flea treatments and we were IMMEDIATELY told to go to Bosleys of all places. Ive worked in the Pet Industry so i know the chemical reactions that can happen to animals using those certain Hartz brands so just the fact that they SUGGESTED I use that was the last straw I needed to switch vets.
My partner and I adopted this beautiful boy Farley from the SPCA late December and took Farley to the hospital for a check up. We went to this animal hospital and Leslie Vanstone was absolutely amazing. My partner and I had to take our fluffy boy for the second time today. Lesie was amazing. Thank you Lesliefor your patience and sharing your love towards our Farley. We are so thankful!!
Very nice people that work there
This vet is close to my house therefore if my dog needs urgent attention and my regular vet is not available I go here. I went here the other day and turned out my dog had fleas. The receptionist took my credit card information before the appointment. Then the vet informed me after the appointment that my dog needs flea treatment to take home. I expected the receptionist to come out and tell me how much the bill would be. Instead they came out with my dog and a $200 bill. I told them this was unacceptable and you cannot charge peoples credit cards without asking and without verifying the amount. I asked for a refund and I was met with rude staff. They told me the flea treatment amount was the price they get it from the supplier. It took a 2 second search to find that I was being overcharged and I also called my regular vet and they charge less than half that Burquitlam did. Today I received a letter that my dog and myself are no longer welcome at this vet anymore. This vet ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. There was a young woman that arrived when I was waiting outside crying because her dog ingested medication. the vet TURNED HER AWAY and sent her elsewhere. Let me remind you that they call themselves a "HOSPITAL" not a clinic. My regular vet it Townline Vet Clinic in Abbotsford, it is a bit of a drive but they are very caring and have your dog on a zoom meeting during their examination. They do not care about money and at some points have not even charged me. They truly care about animals. As attached, the letter states that THEY CANNOT MEET MY FINANCIAL EXPECATIONS therefore they do not want me as a client. Proof they any care about money.
They always are great there and very friendly and so helpful
Always friendly, thoughtful, and efficient caring by all staff for Luna, our Standard Manchester Terrier, now ten years old. I'll add that we have attended the BAH since we moved to the Burquitlam area in 1966. Over the past 55 years we have had 4 dogs and many cats that have needed the excellent care provided by this animal hospital. The entire staff is especially welcoming and caring for us and our canine and feline "children". I would rate them as 10 stars out of 5 if allowed!
Great staff, great service
My very skittish cat is so well behaved with the staff here. They are all so kind and gentle in their demeanour, and are very smart. I trust them 100% to give my pets the best care possible. I grew up taking my pets here, and now that I'm an adult with my own pets I still go here. I highly recommend them.
Love the vets and staff at this clinic. You can tell that they really love the pets they treat!
Excellent customer service.
Burquitlam Animal Hospital took very good care of our Hercules and cleared up his ear infection. Friendly staff and great service.
Amazing place! Amazing people
The staff and vets here have all been very kind and accommodating to us and our puppy Charlie. We recommend Doctor Vanstone - she's knowledgeable, down to earth and has always given us as much time and advice as we need.
Awesome service!
Always take great care of my babies. Everyone is very knowledgeable and kind.
Pretty nice and honest doctors. Care about your pets but don't try to oversell you useless expensive things
Awesome Vets
The staff here are very understanding and accommodating to my anxious dog. They had a room ready upon arrival as to not stress him out even more. I've only visited once so far, but I feel comfortable that they will meet the needs of my dog in future.
I highly recommend this vet. Dr Hopkins treated my first lab 20 years ago and I have another and still see dr hopkins❤️The other vets are just as capable. Very caring and worth every penny!
He did not really seem to connect with our dog much. He did not really listen to us.
A big shout out to the Wonderful and Compassionate team. You guys have to be one of the best fu baby doctors I have ever had the privilege of dealing with. Thank you so much for all you do.
I can't say enough incredible things about this place. Yesterday we had to make the most awful decision in any pet owners life, and had to put down our severely ill cat. Our regular vet is not open on Sundays, and our poor guy was so heartbreakingly miserable that we did not want to wait a single day longer. Dr. Hopkins and the staff at Burquitlam Animal Hospital were amazing. They were incredibly compassionate, and did their absolute best to make the most horrible decision I've ever had to make, as easy as possible. Dr. Hopkins explained the entire process, every step of the way. He was extremely kind and gentle with our little guy, and you could tell how deeply he cared. I would not hesitate to recommend this vet to anyone.
I am from the very beginning in this clinic. Now my cat is 3.5 years old. And he suddenly fell ill on February 14th. I did not know what to do. I came to this clinic and they refused me even an examination of my cat. Fortunately, I found another clinic where they helped me save my friend. Now he is healthy as before. But I’ll never turn to this clinic again .....
I have brought my two kittens to this vet a few times for regular check-ups/vaccinations/fixing and they are fantastic! Very organized and all of the staff are wonderful.
The doctors and staff our amazing, warm, compassionate, helpful.
Have been going here for years, and my animals have always gotten the best care.
I recently moved from LA to Vancouver and a while back I took my cat Persia to Burquitlam animal hospital for several health issues and concerns that I have had about my cats for several years, for non of her previous vets in Los Angeles were able to find a solution, whereas at this practice the doctor was able to address my cat’s issue and the prescription did wonders. My cat has lost all those symptoms and is totally fine ever since. ????????????????????????????????????????????????
If you need a family vet, this is the place you should go.
Interesting place
I cannot say enough good things about Burquitlam Animal Hospital. I have been here several times with both of my cats, and have received nothing but the most upstanding and compassionate care. I always feel like I am being given the best, most honest advice and have been advised against unneeded treatments in the past with my kitties' best interest in mind. A massive thank you to all the vets and staff for being so great!
Great service and great staff. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable.
Phone to book an appointment for pets. For medication pick up call upon arrival stay in vehicle pay by credit card. Staff will bring out order to outside table for customer to pick up. Very efficiently and safely handled.
Great staff, accommodating food pick ups during COVID-19
Highly recommend! Our dog had a dog bite and the front staff was so accommodating and understanding. They moved appointments around so we could get in earlier. They had such amazing attitudes and made us feel so comfortable and confident from the start. Dr Vandstone is so knowledgeable and caring and helped us with everything we needed:)
nice caring people to deal with
Best Vets ever. Great staff and excellent caring vets.
We took our 7 year old chihuahua to BAH to get her spayed. Finally. We have been going to this veterinary hospital for several decades ( late 1970's). Dr Hopkins is awesome. They have been extremely sensitive and helpful to all our four legged children's needs . I can not say enough good things about this veterinary establishment and it's staff. Those of you that have written poor reviews, seriously I do not know what happened, but I would it a point to speak to that particular vet or staff member and voice your concerns with regards to their actions rather than just write a poor review and never return . How can anyone realize that their actions are insensitive if no one make it a point to speak to them about it. So rather than speculate, have a constructive conversation .
I tried to call to make the appointment for my cat this morning and the receptionist I talked to is rude!
Great staff..super doc..
I took my cat in for a check up with Dr. Connell and I have to say that she was amazing ????. The entire staff there was to be honest. The care and quality of service was very good. I have a highly misbehaved cat and was under a lot of stress bringing him in, but they made my experience so relaxing. Dr. Connell was very thorough and didn't rush our phone conversation . She explained everything in detail to me. I HIGHLY recommend this vet for your pet. The reception team up front was just as good ???? Thank you guys ????
My dog doesn't like being examined but Dr Connell was incredibly patient and kind, which made the process a lot less stressful than what it could've been.
Dr. V has a great bedside manner, really cares about her patients.
For over 20 years we have used this vet! Always courteous and compassionate.
I love the team at Burquitlam! They have been my go to clinic for veterinary care since 1995 and through 5 Labradors and 1 cat! Simply the best!
Always pleased with treatment. All vets are skilled and delight to work with. Have dealt with them for more than 30 years. All of our dogs have been treated well from cradle to grave, with kindness and compassion. 5 star rating from our household.
I have been going to Burquitlam Animal Hospital for over 34 years. They have been my angels for help care for my many pets through their many long lives and various health issues my pets were my only children for many years. I have the utmost gratitude and respect for the vets at this facility. Dr. Hopkins, Dr. KurtzDr. Connell and Dr. Vanstone
Great service! Thank you Dr. Leslie
Great clinic!
They care so much. They can always find somewhere to squeeze our puppy in (he gets into EVERYTHING). They were also super compassionate and sent a very sweet card after we had to say goodbye to my kitty, DumpTruck. Can't thank the doctors and staff at BAH enough!
Always friendly and caring service for our animal friends.
Don't go there! I went to check my dogs eye, the vet did some test and check my dog, the answer that the vet gave me was "I don't know what's going on with your dog, you should go to another veterinarian" and I have to pay more than 100 dollars... that's stealing!!
I cannot express enough about the care my dog and cat has received from Dr. Hopkins. He and his staff are kind, supportive and very thorough. In an emergency always accommodated me when I needed to get my pets in. Thanks for being there for my beloved fur babies.
Always good
My experience for my beautiful animals was my male cat needed to get fixed and just before my male cat got fixed we thought she knocked up my female cat but in reality it wasn't that because she was leaking some fluid so I took her in and found out that she had a uterus full of pus and other stuff and if she didn't have emergency surgery or she would have died they were very kind and considerate with the animals and the human person I would highly recommend this place and the Aftercare after the surgery phenomenal I seriously hired Lee recommend this place to anyone
Dr McConnell is amazing
Excellent service!
Dr. Vanstone is a fantastic vet. Will call back to answer questions. Very helpful. Staff is very respectful and has never pushed unwanted or unneeded treatments on our animals.
Cant say enough good things about the place...they care about the animals...the staff is great...minimal wait time...
Very ❤
Doctors are great there. I could really feel the concern that they have for our dogs. They didn't try to upsell me with products that I didn't need either. Just had a dog spayed and they were great to deal with.
i do not know how treat everything else in their office, but i can tell you my experience was horrible bringing my cat in for UTI, when i first brought him in he was in need of care fast, at first reception came off rude saying if you dont have appointment come back later when there is a opening, but this is a emergency, so when she left the room i tried with the other receptionist and she was kind and got me in. After that i met with the doctor , seemed nice enough, they checked him out, without surprise they told me he's blocked and that they needed to flush him and unblock, then gave me quote that aftercare would be 300 a day on top of 1000, so i said no matter what i would have to come up with it and to go ahead, so i left my baby in their care. later i get the call that he is unblocked but he is drooling at the mouth and it's due to kidney damage, we will not be here tonight so you should pick him up because he might not make it through the night and we dont want him to die alone tonight, i died in my heart at that moment, first blaming myself and then preparing to tell my wife and daughter. So i go get him and he was drooling, really worried now, then 2 hours later drool stops and i get happier, but in meantime he is drinking lots but no pee, still blocked! so now hes filling up again and more back pressure to kidneys, not good. gave him pain med they gave me and boom drool starts, so not due to kidneys. things get pretty serious through the night and my family is all crying thinking it's his last night and vet said if things go south in the night euthanize him without blood tests, and even if there was a blood test it would still be high white cell counts due to back pressure and toxicity in kidneys. So he makes it through night and i immediately take him to Greystone animal clinic and Dr. Varinder Kamboj looks him over and says same but he says we have to keep him here 24 hrs to 48 hours minimum on iv fluids and catheter , and he also said no one will be here tonight , but was also honest and said either that or it wont be good, so needless to say i left him, he kept my cat 5 days with 2 x-rays, blood work , 2 two cathater flushes , and too many things to list, his 5 day hospitalization was equal to 1 day in burquitlam animal hospital and he genuinely cared for my cat, there was even 1 point he got worried but offered me a little more costly route but none the less another option than death and that was a perineal urethrostomy. bottom line burquitlam wanted 600 for 7 hours of care, no blood work, no x rays, barely anything, and to top it off he was still blocked, i called atleast 7 vets and all said they would atleast monitor 24 to 48 hours as this is serious for neutered males and blockage almost always reoccurs and several flushes maybe needed and x-ray should be done to check for stones,. At Greystone i got 5 days of top notch care for 1193 and my baby is home jumping and running around happy. all i can say if you really care about your cat run the other way from burquitlam animal hospital, not only did they damage my cat more but also had me prepare my wife and daughter for his death, i am very mad and tried to get my money back but she was full of excuses and called me uneducated, but of course she would defend herself , i should be talking to her boss, anyway enough of my ranting, HEED MY WARNING!!!! Have a good day all:)
We’ve been taking our pets here for over 13 years. The doctors and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They were especially compassionate when we had to put our beloved cat down last year. They ensured she died with dignity and respect and supported me throughout the entire process. I’d highly recommend Burquitlam Animal Hospital for your family pet healthcare.
I wouldn't take my pet anywhere else.
INCREDIBLY caring people. They REALLY CARE about your pet, and they are very reasonable about the costs too. These people are the real deal. We go way out of our way to come here, because they are deeply compassionate animal lovers. There is a lot of dedication here, and they are not about the money. [But you should always ask about costs to make sure you are comfortable with what you will be paying]. Dr. Kurtz and Dr. Hopkins (the vets we have dealt with) really go way beyond to help and do extra research. They love animals, and they understand the love people have for their pets. A truly magnificent place with compassionate, good people!
great care for my dogs
We went there with our cat, the service is amazing and definitely serious and trustworthy!
Great vet
Passionate humans lovingly helping our animal companions. One of my favourite clinics in the lower mainland.
I'm very happy that we go to this vet.
Went in to buy a bag of dental food for our dog and was refused service. If you don’t have them as your vet they want nothing to do with you. They were very rude and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.
very helpful
Amazing staff
Not taking new clients during COVID-19 don't waste your time if your pet needs help
Great doctor, good mannerism and willingness to answer all of my questions, quick turnaround on results, didn't try to gouge or over-recommend/prescribe! I will keep coming back here for all of my current and future animals. Thank you Burquitlam Animal Hospital.
After our last vet these guys were a breath of fresh air.
my puppy's happy here:)
Have had many vets over the years. The vets at Burquitlam are by far the best I have had so far. They spend the time with me and my dog. They always offer me choice and options.
Always nice and friendly doctors
So helpful
Good clinic. Difficult to get appointments otherwise an ok clinic
Everyone here is fantastic!!!
Staff very very helpful and friendly! Highly recommend for your pets
Been going for 20+ yrs. Cats and dogs. They have always been fantastic.
Very nice people ????????
Excellent and caring veterinary clinic.
Bad original experience due to lack of communication in regards to the cost. but they have since tried to correct the issue.
I have been coming to this vet for the past 2 years and my sister has been coming here for the past 5 years. The staff that have tended to our dogs have been wonderful. Very considerate, knowledgeable and friendly. I recently had my samoyed neutered here and the procedure went smoothly with a smooth recovery. The cone they provide was of solid quality and not once did I have to worry about it coming off. I hear from friends that the pricing here is higher than what they receive from their vets however they've also seem places that charge more than this place. All in all my opinion is this place charges fairly for what you get. I have been to other vets and I often feel like they aren't as genuine or I feel like I am being upsold things I don't need, I don't ever get those feelings here. Excellent customer service with knowledgeable and patient staff is what I receive here consistently. Both my sisters dog and my dog always leave in the best shape. So my summary is I would recommend this place to anyone as it's worth every penny.
The people at this clinic are simply wonderful. They care about you and your pet and they give the best possible service. Our dog had diabetes and they helped with every little detail. When both she and our other dog died within a week of each other they cried along with us as we said good bye.
I normally never write reviews but I think it is best for everyone if I tell you my experience. I have been taken my family pets here over a year. But I decided to never go back to this clinic. My cat was suffering a skin issue. The doctor was really rude and unprofessional. She rushed when she checks my cat. And she doesn’t even know how to treat him. She suggested that she can order a medicine for humans to treat my cat. But after a while she said those pills are too strong for a cat. I spend my time and money there and didn't get any help. I don't know if she wants to end her shift or just had a bad mood that day. She was very impatient and unfriendly to me. I was frustrated about his condition and she makes me feel worse. The exam just took few minutes and costed me $70 which was more than other clinics for the exact same procedure. They also charge re-check fees if you have to go back for exactly same exam. I will change to another clinic after this bad experience. Please find somewhere else to take your loved pets.
Vets are fine, front desk . . . not so much. Three weeks ago set up an appointment for my cat. Vet called a week later, "where are you". The appointment was the following week. Their mistake not mine, was fine with that and ensured a new booking fort the following Sunday Nov 10 at the same time. Went into the clinic and then I was told I was wrong and that the appointment was 13:30 not the arranged 10:30. People make mistakes and that's fine but the condescending attitude is not welcome. Update 2020 March 30. Front desk and participation from management has improved.
Our vet was very kind and attentive. Impressed with how much time she spent answering all my questions and concerns about our new kitten.
Great people.... very caring..
Called to ask about spaying cost and was informed they are not taking in new clients and don’t have a waitlist. The receptionist said this is for the unforeseeable future. But there’s nothing that states that on their site. Don’t waste your time contacting them. THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
Knowledgeable doctors... very thorough.
We have been attending Burquitlam Animal Hospital for over 11 years and up until today, have been pleased with their services. Our new dog, Bailey, has fearfulness and aggression issues that Burquitlam suggested we address. Through their suggestion we have had numerous private sessions and over 12 weeks of training for fearfulness through DogSmart. This has worked wonders as she has not bitten or attacked us in over 4 months and has been getting along with other people and dogs. That is until our appointment at this hospital on July 19, 2016. The doctor was extremely insensitive to Bailey's fearfulness, proceeded to yank her by the collar and pull her around in a rough manner. Due to this experience Bailey has once again attacked us, will not let us pet her and she will not even sit with us. I am disappointed and extremely upset that a vet clinic would be so insensitive and uncaring towards a dog with issues of fearfulness, especially when they suggested resources to help build trust and help her get through her issues. After today and months of hard work, that trust was destroyed by one vets lack of concern or care for his dog client. We will be moving our services to a clinic that is sensitive and responsive to our dogs needs and concerns. Extremely disappointed in Burquitlam today.
Wonderful doctors and all staff- very kind and caring. Highly recommend this lovely place qnd people.
Always great with my dog. I appreciate their gentle care.
