I am a returning customer of Burnaby New Westminster Animal Hospital. I took a cat there quite often during the last year of his life and was always happy with the treatment he received. Dr. Moaveni was especially compassionate and supportive when I finally had to make the decision to have Oscar put to sleep. I can tell Dr. M is a real animal lover. My husband and I have recently adopted 2 kittens and I am very happy to already have a trusted vet clinic to take them to.

We had covid19 after 3 weeks we were released from fraser health and hospital allow us going to public we called to take my dog for spay. They did not accept us as we were a month before got seek and stayed home for one month and didn't come out of my room. This people by they wrong judgment didn't accept us. To me they are very rude and were discrimination. He is a very good doctor but his staff are not professional at all at least with us. May be if I was Canadian born they were not dare talk to me like that. Very disappointed ???? ???? Answer to your comment: No you didn't follow the protocol. I was released by Fraser Health 3 weeks before call you. Fraser Health released me to public. What protocol are you following? I can go everywhere but your clinic? Would you please publish your protocol to public show that people were sick and stayed home for one month and they were released by public health. 3 weeks after you did not accept them. I am really interested to see your protocol if there is one. Please don't try to fool people. These days most of people knows everything. I work my self with WCB and knows lot of stuff and follow all protocol for my employees. Please publish yours so people are aware. Your answer was not clear enough. My family and I were suffered from the fact that we were sick 6 weeks ago and you didn't want us to come to your clinic.

just trying to get my dog's food which is so hard to find. most of the places says it's on back order. I phoned there in advance to see what they have and she said they have one left. so I went there to purchase. overall, her attitude was rude over the phone and even in person. I shouldn't have gone there but this time I had no choice because the food is hard to get. I won't go back there again. and I'm so glad i didn't take my dog there.

I would highly recommend this place! I have been taking my two kitties to this clinic for over a year now (though my association goes much further back - I adopted my kitties there 12 years ago, when it was under different ownership), and have been very impressed with the degree and quality of care. Dr. Moaveni and his staff genuinely and generously provide the best care possible for their furry patients and want to see them healthy and happy. I have never felt that any treatment has been pushed on me, in fact they have gone out of their way to make treatments and tests as easy and affordable as possible, I can only imagine to the detriment of their bottom line. Everyone has been very patient with my questions and my kitties’ peculiarities, even to the point of replacing a medication when my cat refused it because she prefers a different brand. While I fear that my cats will never be entirely comfortable going to the vet, I know that every time they are in excellent hands.

I had an incredible experience here. I needed a vet to help my senior dog pass peacefully. This clinic made a horrible situation into the best experience you can hope for under the circumstances. Dr. Moaveni said everything I needed to hear and showed so much kindness and compassion throughout the entire process. He gave us all the time we needled to say good bye. Everyone I dealt with at this clinic showed the same amount of care and professionalism. I highly recommend this place and will continue to use them for my other babies. Incredibly compassionate and caring. The vet here is amazing! The only con is that you need to make an appointment several days ahead. They're normally always booked up. When my dog passed away, the front desk help managed everything. They were always so nice and friendly. Thank you :)

The Burnaby New West Animal Hospital has a cat boarding hotel named 'Kitty Korner Boutique Hotel'. We've boarded our cats for both day and longer stays (~10 days), and we highly recommend them. They're reasonably priced, their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there is a vet located right beside the "hotel" area. We've also stopped by to get supplies for our cats. They've got a great selection of vet products (cat and dog food, toys, etc).

This is a great place to take your pet. I had never owned a pet before and just adopted a cat last year. Dr. Moaveni and the staff here helped me out a lot when I came in for the first time and have been great the two times I've come back. Dr. Moaveni never pushes anything and is very clear with his explanations when he recommends certain treatments. Very positive vet experience.

Staff here is friendly and really take care of you and your pets. The main vet took more time to just say hello and get to know my cat than any vet I've had before, he clearly loves animals. When it came time to put my cat down, everyone was helpful and kind, they helped make the experience less negative. There was a private room and everything, it was much more comfortable than other vet experiences I've had before. The signed condolences card they followed up with was a nice gesture. Hopefully, I won't have to see them too soon with my other cat, but when I do, I trust them to be great with her.

I have been taking my cats to BNW for many years. Dr. Moaveni is caring and compassionate towards animals and has always treated my cats as if they were his very own. He takes the time explaining any concerns and only recommends tests or medications that he feels necessary. Sadly, we lost one of our cats a few years ago due to kidney disease. Dr. Moaveni and staff were all so caring during that difficult time, they made sure our baby was very comfortable and quiet in a special room so we could spend our last moments together in private. I would recommend this clinic to anyone for your pet care needs.

We recently brought our dog in to this vet because she got hit by a car and suffered a fracture while we were out of town. The previous veterinarian who tended to her in the middle of the night when the accident happened put on the wrong kind of splint, and this resulted in sores that got infected on her leg in addition to her fracture. We brought her into Burnaby New West animal hospital, and the veterinarian there immediately recognized she needed a different type of splint. Her infection from the previous splint was so bad that her toes were dripping pus, and the sore on her elbow was fully open and raw with necrosis. She received great care at a very reasonable price, and the antibiotics we took home as well as advice for care helped her mend to the point that her sore is a tiny scab, and she likely won't need surgery. In addition to the veterinarian, the assistants there are amazing! Anica specifically is so caring, and obviously loves animals. She greeted us swiftly when we arrived, was professional, kind, caring, and made us feel comfortable and cared about. She went on about how cute and sweet and good natured our dog is, which made us feel really comfortable. Maya is normally terrified of vets, but Anica cared for her like she was her own pet, and made her feel so at ease that Maya wasn't even in a hurry to leave when she got her new bandage. I would highly recommend this vet because of the high level of care, fairness, professionalism, and amazing employees.

This vet clinic is just incredible. The compassion and care they show is just top notch. Our cat Tinkerbell got very sick due to eating a ribbon. This vet took her into their care, performed surgery, and saved her life. We couldn’t be more grateful. COVID-19 meant that it isn’t the usual experience, but the vet and their amazing assistants coming to the car each time to go over everything and give our cat the best care has been such a relief during a stressful time. Tink is a love bug again! Thank you thank you thank you! And a big shoutout to Annika(sp?) for being a rock for us!

I am using Burnaby New WEstminster AH for years for my cat. I can not complain of anything. Vererinarian is always very patient anf kind and spends as much time as needed. Staff are helpful and kind too. I would recommend this animal hospital if you need good quality veterinary service.

I would like to start by saying that Dr. Moaveni is a really nice vet and when I had issues with my cat he truly made me feel like he cared for his overall wellbeing. You can tell he really cares for animals and also always treated me with respect and I felt like a valued customer. One of your staff members was incredibly rude to me. I was so upset that I decided to right this review. I was there tring to buy my cats food. They didn't have what I needed in stock even though my cats food is a popular urinary food and when I went to the next vet they had tons of it. I said they should stalk the shelves better and buy more inventory since it's a top seller. This is when she got extreamly aggressive with me and said people like me complain of this all the time. Her attitude was unbelievably disrespectful and rude. You simply can't treat a customer like that. Other places of work you would be written up for such conduct. She finished it off by telling me to find another vet. This over all experience was shocking to me. Would i trust this woman to look after my cat again.. Never! Dr. Moaveni I hope you can address some of the major issues your staff has. As I will never return because of this woman.

I called to make an appointment for my dog who seemed to be having an ear infection, however they didn’t have any appointments until the following week. I explained to the receptionist that a dog with an ear infection cannot wait a week to be seen and it was urgent. The receptionist was exceptionally rude and replied “An ear infection is not an emergency and it can wait till next week”. I said I would go somewhere else and the receptionist replied “That’s fine” in a rude tone. I am not sure if the receptionist has no experience or knowledge of animals or a lack of compassion. I have been to this vet before and that is why I decided to call them first. The vet was great with my dog during previous visits, but due to this experience I will never return or recommend them. I was able to get an appointment at Alpine Animal Hospital right away.

I will rate this animal hospital five star for few reasons. Doctors and staff are very caring. Every time you call Doctor will come to the phone and talk to to you personally or will return you call as soon as he can. Second reason is that whenever there is a financial concern doctor amd staff will help u to do what is really needed and never look into make a big bill for u. I read a few of negative reviews and after being client for this office for more than two decades i am strongly disagree with those reviewers. Thank you.

My dog got dandruff and we visited the vet here 2 times: - 1st time they gave us the epic shampoo and my dog got better. - However it never actually got rid of the dandruff and we have to visit the vet again. They gave us another shampoo and said this one is better(why didn’t give it in the first place?) and the vet didn’t even check carefully, there were pimples on her skin as well and he didn’t notice until we pointed it out. All the staff are really nice but I wasn’t happy with the results!

Over Christmas we adopted a shelter cat. No one at the time realized that he had trauma to his tail. While playing on a Sunday an inch and a half of his tail came off. We took him to a vet that was open on a Sunday who told us to bring him back in the morning and he would amputate the end. We called the shelter the next day who said to take him to the Burnaby New West Animal Hospital. We took him in and the vet was amazing. Advised that we go with a more cautious treatment as cat tail amputations don't always go well. We brought him in twice a week to have his tail bandaged and after a month he was healed. I am so glad that we brought our little guy here. He is awesome and not traumatized by his experience. I feel a bit sick to think that he would have had an unnecessary surgery. Again so happy and grateful at our little cat's best interest taken first. Would completely recommend bringing your pet to this clinic for care.

I recently moved to BC and a lot of vets here aren’t taking new clients which is pretty frustrating.. But this vet was more than happy to take me and my cat. For the most part the staff were very friendly (when I first called I was looking to get some special order medication and the lady I spoke with sounded annoyed with me - I don’t recall her name but I will say Nicole was really great) and the vet was quite knowledgeable. There seems to be a bit of a lack of communication between staff as they had booked me in for a surgery that I had told them I would call for when I had the money, but I’m sure they are also very busy and I totally get that we’re all human and make mistakes! The receptionist also mentioned it may have been urgent because of the time it was booked for, and I asked for her to double check with the vet because if it was urgent I’d figure something out but I never heard back. I did end up having to go for emergency surgery five days later, a day after I booked in with this place, but they couldn’t get me in for two weeks. The lady I spoke with recommended the Central Animal Emergency Clinic and I’m extremely happy with her recommendation.

My husband and I have a 4 year old yorkie and 9 month old chocolate lab. We have been taking them to Dr.Movani since they were pups. I get very good service from the front desk staff and the doctor's at the clinic. When I need to see them on an urgent basis, they always make time and attend to my dogs, I always get follow up calls from them. My lab has had food allergies and Dr.Movani was very helpful in finding a solution. We've had Dr.Gilbert a few times and he's been great with giving suggestions on puppy training tips and health tips. It's at a very convenient location as well. 5 stars for burnaby new west animal hospital...
