I am often in Vancouver and whenever I am there I only trust Dr. Kassam with my baby (my dog) Mylo. Any time we need to go in, we get prompt service and are seen in a timely manner. Dr. Kassam makes us feel at ease and truly cares about his patients, there has even been a few times he has gone above and beyond the call of duty and we are really appreciative of his genuine care and concern for Mylo. You can also count on him to be direct and honest. He gives you his expert opinion, he makes sure to only recommend what is necessary. I only trust Dr. Kassam & love Boundary Animal Hospital!

We've been taking our 2 cats to Boundary Animal this past year since moving to Burnaby. Dr. Kassam exudes compassion, care, and calmness. The whole team is fabulous - efficient, reliable, patient, and always helpful in addressing all of our questions. We made the difficult decision to euthanize our sweet 16 year old kitty last week. Staff made the process as peaceful as possible, giving us ample time to say our goodbyes. That evening, Dr. Kassam followed-up with a message expressing his sympathy once again. I'm inspired to finally get around to writing this review, as we just received the sweetest card in the mail expressing their condolences - another example of their thoroughness and care. Thanks to everyone at Boundary Animal for exceptional customer service, compassion, and care for our pets!

I brought Alexandra to you 14 years ago and I cannot tell you how grateful I have been knowing that Alexandra was in your safe hands. As you know it was extremely hard loosing my little girl as she was and still is everything to me. I'm still grieving and will be for a long time, but I just wanted you to know that I wouldn't have trusted anyone else with Alexandra. In memory and honor of my sweet little Alexandra - I may possibly rescue 2 or 3 little dogs that need love and a good family. This clinic always has the worst service and personnel working. I only come here for food because they're one of few that carry Hills - and I would NEVER bring an animal here. It takes on average about 20 to 30 minutes from your arrival for them to notice you - and about 10 minutes longer before they come to serve you. The receptionists are always miserable on top of it all. Not recommended!

Just took our pup there the other day for her diarrhea issues, and planned to do a spay, the prices given were little bit lower than our usual place. Overall we had a good experience, easy communication, only had to cancel our surgery since we had to move away for a little whie but will surely return again, the place is conveniently close to our house and prices are reasonable if you know what you come there for. Some complain about being charged 300+ bucks for a nail trim, I wouldn't know, we do everything ourselves at home. If a dog is extremely agressive/sensetive/impossible to be dealt with, it's expected that it would be sedated and thus charged for it. It's just like you can cut your nails at home or go get a manicure and be charged 70 bucks for it, your choice. Same with pet services really. P.s. the only thing that wasn't pleasant was that we were offered a free consultation prior to our surgery/diarrhea issue appointment (twice, over the phone and through email), yet I was charged for it anyway, because the girl didn't know about it. I was told that it will be deducted from our next time payment. So, should be good.

We started using this vet for our new kitten. So far the service has been wonderful. The staff are friendly and professional and we received wonderful advice regarding our kitten's food from one of their staff who is very knowledgeable on pet diets. They carry a locally made raw diet which shows they are forward thinking in how we take care of our companion animals. The vet himself was warm and caring towards our pet and treated her with the utmost respect and kindness at her visits. She was recently spayed and they had her microchip info and her meds in a little bag that they hand decorated. They even called the next morning to check on her and answer our questions. All in all I find them very trustworthy. They have a live-in cat living there named Tuna who is a rescue and she is so loving and calm, which shows how well she is treated. As a family we are very happy with their service. Their prices are competitive and we've been shown nothing but respect. They have a love for animals and that reflects in their care.

My experience was great with them. I brought them my sick puppy who suddenly stopped eating, drinking and even wasn’t moving around much. They were able to accommodate him right away despite their very tight schedule.My puppy is feeling great now from the medications the Dr. Prescribed! They were very upfront about prices right and I ended up paying less than what I was quoted. Great people and great place.

I brought my dog in for teeth extraction and I was extremely nervous as his old and I was stressed about putting him on anesthesia. I called the hospital and asked a ton of questions. The nurse was very patient, they're assuring, and answered all my questions. They also gave me a rough quote over the phone which I requested. When I called to book the appointment, another nurse picked up, but she was also very friendly and upfront with the costs and things. The day I brought my dog in I was pretty nervous and anxious, however everything went fine. I like how the nurses were very friendly and assuring. They had many staff though, which is good, however if you deal with different stuff they might tell you slightly different things which is what happened to me. It wasn't a huge deal but it would be nice if maybe a main nurse dealt with a client the whole time, that way everything is consistent. I think the doctor was nice, although the costs include a consult, it wasn't really much of a consult because the surgery was already done and the doctor basically said your dog is great. I wasn't able to interact with him too much. Overall I had a great experience here. What I was very very impressed with is that when I first came in they gave me a quote, but when I paid the amount was less than the quote! This means they were honest in their fees, because they could have just charged me the original quote as I had already signed for it. But I guess my dog didn't take as long as they had quoted, so the amount was less when I actually paid. I am very impressed with that!

One of the vet assistants was frantic and pushy. You could feel that the other vet assistant was afraid of her and it was awkward. It was a weird environment. It felt like the bossy assistant didn’t trust the other assistant to do anything and had a “I’ll just do it myself” attitude. The vet himself was very kind and cared about our pet. I feel like we had good care from the vet but the hectic environment wasn’t comforting when we arrived or getting served at the front desk.

First time at the clinic and I must say, the whole team treated my sweet old Yogibear with the best care they could provide. Dr. Kassam was great and Yogibear seems to have not mind being in his care (normally he is frightened by the vet). He had his first ever dental cleaning which made me very nervous - they ended up extracting an abscessed tooth so the bill came to be more hefty than anticipated but still very affordable compared to other vet clinics that I have inquired to. Besides Yogibear being groggy after the cleaning, he seems to be in great spirits today. Thank you so much for taking care of my old boy. Highly recommend this veterinary clinic! IG: @heyitsyogibear

Terrible experience for our cat. We went just for the Rabies shot. Shortly our cat started walking with difficulties, no playing, not eating and drinking. We paid CAD 1300 for 4 hours of hospitalisation and when he got back home it was worse than the first time, floppy, absent, worse and worse day by day. The clinic did not give me a treatment, just recommendation to spend more money for additional xrays. I was lucky to have a friend who is a Romanian Vet doctor, sent him the xray and blood results by email and he advised what to do at home. After 7 terrible days, I managed to help our cat be better, eat and drink water. It was a nightmare.

They called to inform regarding updates positive and negative and to confirm before proceeding with tasks not included in estimates.

Walked in for some flea and tick medication for my dogs and the only complaint I had is the staircase leading to the back parking lot. It is severely broken and needs to be repaired ASAP! I can’t imagine taking my dogs up those. The vet seems great though

I'm absolutely delighted with everything about this location. Dr. Kassam (Sorry if the spelling is wrong!) and his team are just fantastic. From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with incredibly friendly, personable, and knowledgeable staff members, who were all happy to ask the million questions that kept popping up in my mind! The location itself is beautifully clean, and you can tell the staff care about the health of each of the animals walking through their door. I'd highly recommend others to check Boundary Animal Hospital out. Your pets (and my cat) couldn't find a better location, with nicer staff.

Great team working here. Always get prompt responses for bookings of appointments. My poor pup got vaccinated on her first visit, and then had blood taken on the second. But when we went back to drop off a sample she was still eager to go back! So that says something. Dental cleanings are reasonably priced, and they provide transparent quotes up front.

I’ve been going to Dr Kassam since 2013 when I was travelling across the border and needed the proper paper work to cross with my papillon. Since then , Villy, has been going to the clinic for everything from nail trimming to emergency surgery. Villy is turning 11 this year and I owe Dr. Kassam and his staff all the credit for my healthy dog . He is excited to see the staff every time we go . Thank you boundary animal hospital!

I have a little puppy called Lumi, and i’ve always gone to boundary animal hospital for her needs. Recently she fell and had a seizure, so i called the hospital. Dr. Kassam immediately turned around even though they were closed and checked her out. Amazing customer service and you can tell they really care. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the lower mainland

NO START! Do not bring your pet there if you don't want to be hurt for yourself and your pet! When my puppy was 6 months, I bought a 6-months medicine package there for deworm and defleas as they recommended. It's 1 pill per month and started from Feb. 2014. I fed my puppy the medicine in Feb., March, April, and May. When I wanted to feed her again in June, I found the expire date is April 2014! I called the hospital right away but the person who answered the phone was inpatient and just asked us to go to the clinic to change. We went to there. No apology at all! As I know, the medicine's expire date can be at least 2 years since it's produced. My puppy took 3 pills, which was the end of expire date, and 1 pill past the date. The manager only changed the pills that we hadn't used yet. That is so..... We didn't ask the reparation for potential harm for the puppy. But at least they should change the whole package. No one want to pay full price to buy almost expired and expired production! The manager argued that this was 2 parties thing, which implied we should be responsible for it too. And they have thousands productions so that they cannot check it everyday! I was so frustrated about it. I told her that I don't want to change and return my box back. She refused to return back but took the box away without I agree! I had to record down what she did by camera - I asked her return my box but she took it to her office and refused to bring it back. Then she threatened to call police! This is the worst experience I've ever had! No one would expect to pay the money to buy harmful production and hurt! Do NOT bring your pet there for your and your pet's health!

This animal hospital will charge you as much as they can. My family has brought our old dog to this animal hospital a few times and many times there are charges in the bill that they failed to discuss with us prior. The doctor recommended putting my dog down early last year (maybe for the $$???) but when my family took her home to think upon it, she bounced back and has been healthy for over a year. The last straw is them quoting euthanasia and cremation pricing. General cremation at approx 420 and private cremation at approx 580. I've called many many vet offices/animal hospitals as well as the SPCA which use the exact same company (until we meet again) and none of them have quoted anything more than 240 dollars. SPCA for a private cremation is 190. A fancy vet office in Kitsilano quoted me $223 for a private cremation. In my opinion, this animal hospital is unethical and really only cares about the $$$

Gave our 8 weeks puppy shots sooner than recommended. They were less than 2 weeks apart.. I called other VETS to confirm and they would not have suggested it. For his mistake he was going to cover the cost our next shot.. but I would find a Vet that is more careful. Customer service was good.

And he is one of the most racist, ignorant, individuals, that attack viciously others religious thought and values. I do NOT recommend dealing with him in real life as one knows he is not a true Canadian but self centered ignorant, that commits hate crime and think he can get away with it, like nothing had happened.

Top quality professional care for your pets! The people who work here are amazing. I was in for what I thought was a minor concern and the doctors quickly assessed that the situation was urgent. They expressed the seriousness of the matter and the need for immediate action but remained calming and reassuring to both me and my pupper. Then they put on their capes and saved his life. Absolute legends!

They're always so attentive and meticulous when it comes to examining her making sure they cover all possibilities. Not to mention, they're much more affordable than other vets. Provided me with excellent service, I’m a first time kitten owner and didn’t go through correct channels of purchasing a new kitten and to my surprise the kitten had fleas, I was a complete mess not knowing what to do, it was 10:00pm by the time i brought the kitten home and there were no vet places open so I began my search trying to find help. I called Boundary Animal Hospital at 8:00am and they were completely understanding, more than willing to get me in first thing. When I arrived I was scared, anxious and very much concerned but by the time I left they had me feeling prepared and nervousness was gone! Staff are amazing I am definitely going to go back and would recommend this place!

Took my cat in because of blood in urine. They did not take a urine sample but instead ran other unnecessary tests. The whole experience was unsettling because they were not following covid procedures (no social distancing measures) and they were exaggerating my cat's symptoms. The lady that was explaining the treatment plans to me was pressuring me to choose the more expensive treatment plan. The overall experience was unsettling and felt like they were taking advantage of my emotions & money. Would not recommend going here.

Dr kazzam and his team have treated my dog koko since 2000. He performed a surgery on her when she had bladder stones in 2007. She went on to live another good 10 years until she was too old and I was so glad he was the one to be there while she drew her last breath. That was so meaningful to me. and though he makes all the best recommendations he can, he never pressures me when I tell him I’ll think about it or wait to see if my dog would get better on her own without antibiotics. It was an easy choice which vet we brought our newborn kitten to today. They were super patient and answered every question I had and even shared some personal experiences with us as well. I highly recommend this clinic and tho vets are always going to be expensive... you can have piece of mind that your pet will be in good hands. Thanks to dr Kazzam, Theresa and Natasha today!!

Boundary Animal Hospital is impeccably clean and tidy from the front office to the treatment rooms in the back. We lost our last two cats this year one almost 21 years and the other almost 20 years. With guidance from Dr. Kassam we believe we were fortunate enough to have them for so long. Dr. Kassam will always be our veterinarian as long as we have furry four legged children.
