This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Animal hospital.
Great staff! My cat is never afraid when I take her there, they use fear free techniques.
Unfortunately, have to delete my previous positive review.
My family has seen Dr. Milstein and now Dr. Kennedy with our pets for many years. They've done nothing but improve the services they offer and we've always been pleased with the treatment our pets have received. Dr. Kennedy in particular is caring and empathetic, generally an excellent vet. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blueridge-Cove to anyone.
Very busy and friendly staff
Kim is a fantastic vet.....a real country vet feel. No fooling around. The team is great.
We have had nothing but wonderful support from your staff, including end of life for our sick kitty, and the early stages for our two new kittens. Front end staff was able to give me great help with flea treatment information. Nothing but good reviews from us.
Dr Kennedy is awesome
Great staff! Always friendly and Dr. Kim Kennedy is the best! We love how she takes good care of our Jesse and always looking out for us!
Have been taking my companion animals to Blueridge for over 20 yrs. Great Staff, Great Doctors!! Highly Recommended.
Changing my review: I was very disappointed today. After 7 years always going to the same doctor for routine check, always giving them my business and bringing my baby there, the day I need them they not there for me. Just a very nice sorry we are fully booked and can't see your dog. It no longer matter been nice and smile on the routine check-ups what really matter on good vets is to be available on your emergencies when you really need them. Very disappointed and now looking for another vet and looking at my poor baby feeling helpless for him. The right thing they should had done is to look at the schedule, see someone that is only going for a check-up and call asking them if they would mind to rebook because they have to take care of an emergency. That is the right attitude but unfortunately they just seem to not care. Dr. Kennedy you really disappointed me today, after 7 years trusting you the care of my baby and you were not there for him when we needed you. saying sorry doesn't help.
I’ve been with blueridge for over 5 years and I loved it there until they were bought out by a big company. Other than overpricing and one unfriendly staff I still love the doctors there. I hope they improve their hospitality.
Thankyou for seeing our puppy on such short notice! Throughout the whole process the staff customer service was very impressive, from our initial phone call , arriving at the clinic and being seen by the vet we found the staff were reassuring, compassionate and supportive. They took the time to listen to our concerns, the vet was friendly and informative, explained possible treatment options and estimated costs. They went above and beyond and even called to check up on how our pup was doing after the weekend . Thankyou!
Taken our dog here for years and the one before that. Come to think of it there was another before that too. Great staff and good service.
By far the best veterinarians office around! They truly care about the animals and making the care affordable. I've unfortunately had to bring my pup there quite a few times this year under stressful circumstances and was amazed by how compassionate they were, and how I was able to work with them to keep the costs down. From past experiences I know I wouldn't have gotten this kind of care anywhere else. My bills literally would've been double what they were going anywhere else. Unlike a lot of other vet offices they also don't recommend services you don't need. All of the vets there are amazing especially Dr.Kennedy, you can tell she loves what she does. The only regret I have is I wish I had found out about them earlier!
Thank you to the team at Blueridge Cove for saving my Vincent's life the other night! They were amazing. My Giant Schnauzer Vincent had a ball lodged in his throat and was only moments away from suffocating. They have been tremendous with all of our furry babies (we have many)! Thanks to them Vincent is doing just fine!
They really do a great job. Flexible, informative and the staff truly seem to care about helping pets and their owners.
We switched to Blueridge after not being satisfied with the service at our prior vet clinic in North Van. So far both doctors we have seen (Dr Christine and Dr Evin) have been amazing and helped us tremendously with our dog's health :)
Charged top dollar for poor care. Brought my doodle in because he was limping, he wasn't putting much weight on his left rear leg. Vet examined him and found nothing and offered to do an xray, which I declined as I was sure it wasn't a fracture. His limp got worse and a couple days later I noticed one of his nails on his left rear leg was cracked and ripped and hanging off the nail bed. I called back and explained the vet missed the cracked nail and caused my dog unecessary pain to have to have a cracked nail completely rip off a few days later. I was told by the clinic manager that the vet did a thorough exam and a cracked nail wasn't visible at the time so I should have paid for the xrays to help identify the torn nail. She also didn't even provide any advice on caring for a torn nail. Thanks for nothing.
Our dog recently suffered an injury that might have been very expensive to repair. After the shock wore out I was encouraged to do my research, talk to other dog owners, etc and then return for a follow up. Dr Kennedy was recommended and she was terrific. She listened to my questions and gave me honest and unbiased answers. We are now on a program to recovery and I have regained my confidence in the Veterinarian industry. Thank you again!
Over the years I have had many pets & foster pets that have needed care, from final goodbyes to casting a puppies arm with a pink & blue heart patterned bandage - always a compassionate experience.
We have used several of the vets in the area before we found the professionals at Blueridge-Cove. We have dealt with most of the staff & vets over our time there and have found them all to be fantastic. They truly love animals and are extremely fair in their pricing. Our cats & dogs highly recommend them.
We met Dr. Kim Kennedy at Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital for the first time about 6 weeks ago when our 15 year old beloved cat Shadow became ill very quickly and ended up having to be compassionately put to sleep. We had the privilege of having Shadow in our lives since she was 7 weeks old and the suddenness of her becoming ill was startling and extremely sad for us all. Dr. Kim Kennedy was fabulous with us. We met her in these grief filled circumstances and her approach was gentle, extremely present, and loving toward us and our old cat. What particularly stood out to us was how she listened to our concerns and questions and did not "rush us along" nor did she " talk down to us" nor " try to convince us of anything" as is sadly sometimes the case with veterinarians , and human doctors for that matter. Dr. Kennedy worked with us kindly and with tremendous compassion to arrive at what was the best thing to do for Shadow. On the one hand it was very sad and on the other hand there was something beautiful about being with our old cat in those final hours with the assistance of an extremely kind hearted veterinarian. Somehow her presence made it easier for us. The kind of care that Dr. Kim Kennedy showed us during such a difficult time convinced us that she was the veterinarian we wanted for all the animals in our lives. We have since seen her again with one of our dogs for a check up and she was just as attentive, authentic, genuinely interested, and loving as she had been with our Shadow's passing. I can't speak highly enough about how these such qualities are essential for all types of medicine. What stands out to me especially about this veterinarian's approach is her down to earth style and willingness to work with us in terms of our values and preferences and philosophy while at the same time being able to offer the very best medical practice. If only there were a few more human doctors like her!! Thank you to all of the staff at Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital for the high level of care you provide to our animal friends. Especially, a huge thank you to Dr. Kim Kennedy for your so very generous heart and spirit and professionalism. As people who love and have several animals in our lives, we are so very thankful you are here. sincerely, lisa shatzky and kids ( Jordyne, Benji, and Jonah) and Don MacLean
Great caring staff
We love Blueridge! We have been taking our wee girl there for over 8 years now and she has always received excellent care, lots of love and focused attention to every small detail of her health and emergency care!
Good, caring vets that won't gouge you. :)
They are excellent vets who have helped me many times.
My two fur-babies get the best treatment here. Kind staff.
Dr Kennedy is excellent. Kind, caring and very practical. Chester, Coco and Andy are all very good when we have to take them in - they are treated with 'kid gloves'. The ladies at the front desk are also wonderful. Thanks for your wonderful service
They have gone above and beyond to help out our little Alice. We have required numerous vet visits and when I told them it’s getting to be a struggle to pay for visits twice a week, they were incredibly kind and gave me affordable options. I always get an appointment very quickly. Not to mention, they got me in within 15 mins of calling them on a Saturday evening to take a look at her injury and clean it up. Top notch ????????
Dr. Kennedy and and her colleague are great at what they do and they really care about the welfare of your pets. What other vet would sit on the floor with your dog for an exam and give it a kiss on the forehead to boot - just to try to make them feel less stressed during their visit! I left my other vet because I felt like it was 'a money grab' and the vet was so impersonal as well - so glad I did. Dr. Kennedy is always practical and efficient and is very conscious of keeping costs and treatments on an as required basis and always gives you the 'straight goods'.
I love the staff, they are very professional and very fare.
They've been taking care of my dog for 10 years, and have always given excellent care. We'll keep going back.
These people care about my pets almost as much as I do. I don't think it can get better than that.
They've taken good care of my cat. I feel they give me good advice and don't try to push unnecessary things on me.
Great staff that really pay attention to your pets needs :)
As our dog is aging we need a lot more support from the clinic and found such comfort in their compassionate care: from the reception desk to our vet we have support and sound, practical advice. I love this clinic and know they'll give us every support we'll need in the days to come.
Cat with linear foreign body requiring emergency surgical removal. They are relatively expensive ($54 for a medical pet shirt?!) and prices rose even higher on weekends, but we wanted the best chances of survival for our pet. The office and doctors stayed in constant contact with us during this ordeal. Specialist surgeon was able to remove yarn via stomach incision which greatly reduced risk and speeded up recovery.
Best team ever. Great front desk staff and Dr. Kennedy is amazing! Always taking good care of our fur baby!
Never had a bad experience in the 30+ years I've been going here. We've even been taken care of during a power failure. Nothing quite like candlelight to really set the mood for a check up. I suggest Blueridge-Cove to anyone who asks.
They are so caring and helpful!
First impression was good, all the staff were polite and attentive, signing up online got my kitty his first visit free and the prices are reasonable as I searched around. These guys were my second choice only because a closer vet was not taking new patients, however I feel like I made the best choice after meeting my vet and discussing the future of my kitten. I look forward to future visits for shots and general health!
We are so grateful for the caring concern, expert advice and excellent treatment we received from the Blueridge-Cove team. Our elderly dog is feeling so much better - are so are we. Thank you so much for your kind followup and assistance. Much appreciated! We highly recommend Blueridge Cove.
All the vets are great. Staff are friendly and very caring. Would recommend them to anyone with a pet
I have been using Blue-Cove Animal Hospital for over a decade now. The staff have always gone that little bit extra to make sure everyone is taken care of, especially my best buddy. I know that they have my back an will always do what is right for my my best friend. Great people & great place !!! Keep up the great work !!!
We have been fan's of Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital for almost 15 years. They have consistently provided excellent, compassionate service the entire time. We did try some other Veterinary services prior to Blueridge, but once there - we are HOME (so to speak.). Thanks to Dr. Kennedy & all the staff there. They are so excellent.
Very friendly, don't have to wait for your appointment, excellent hours of operation (thank you for being open evenings!) and convenient online booking. Good care and I like the email reminders for things like vaccinations (which they only administer if needed e.g. different for indoor vs. outdoor cats). Recommended.
I like some of the others am saddened that the vet clinic I trusted for years has become a "McVet." The practice was sold apparently and is now part of CVA conglomerate of about 350 vet places. There is no caring only charging a lot and you get someone different every time. I was told that the vet I loved Dr. Kennedy is only there occasionally and i had to book 3 weeks ahead to get her. The place ha been let go and is now run down and less clean. I am upset as I have bought food there and been a loyal customer. I tried to find out where one of the vets I liked, Dr. Jay Bridges had gone and they would not tell me. Last trip I was not pleased with being shoved off with a strong medication and told albeit politely to book a $1000 tooth cleaning appt for the dog who has an issue with her leg that they did not really resolve.I am now seeking a really nice vet that is not part of CVA.
i heart dr kennedy
Always courteous, prompt, helpful, on time and have provided sound advice and care for our two pets. I wasn't happy with the service and competence of our previous Veterinary and was recommended Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital a few years ago. I am happy to have made the change.
I came here because I have had mulitple, unprofessional/ not knowledgeable experiences with Norgate Animal Hospital (I do not recommend them at all). They provided excellent care to both of my cats, they are honest and do not suggest to do things that are purely based on their gains. All of the employees that I have come in contact with here, seem to really-truly care about the well being of YOU and your animals. I would STRONGLY encourage people to take their animals here based on my experiences.
Great team of professionals who are friendly and efficient
I have brought everything from bunnies to dogs and they have given all of my pets the very best of care. Also the prices are the best that I have found yet the love, care and kindness they have shown my babies is priceless. Thank You to all the wonderful staff.

Dr. Kennedy has a way of paying close attention to the needs of my pets without being overly invasive and recommending a bunch of things that aren't necessary. She is my favorite vet I've ever had, and I've had animals my whole life. In 2011 I moved to Vancouver, but I keep bringing my animals back to her despite the 30 minute drive across the bridge through yucky traffic because I trust that she knows what is best to ensure an amazing quality of life for my little fuzzy loves.
We have been using Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital for nearly 7 years and we can say with confidence that they are the best. Always friendly, always professional. On more than one occasion their staff have gone above and beyond to help us and our dogs. Our pooches Molson and Louie are healthy and happy thanks for Blueridge Cove.
I am glad to have this opportunity to review Blueridge-Cove. I found Dr. Joe to be kind and attentive to my dog Tony, who was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in early December 2014. The follow up call from another vet (sorry not sure of his name) confirmed the diagnosis in a more businesslike, less patient manner. In fact the vet seemed rather impatient to attend to another patient who was either on the other line or in the surgery. As the news he had to deliver was less than welcome I would have appreciated a bit more kindness in his voice and less impatience to be finished with me. I like the homey, less clinical atmosphere of the office and the friendliness of the staff. I also like the fact that Blueridge supported the SPCA in their Cupcake Week. I'm afraid there is a certain impersonal feeling to coming to Blueridge. No-one remembers Tony, so when I do visit I have to say his name again. Also, and this is really the most important point, there was no follow up phone call to the initial visit with Dr. Joe when Tony was diagnosed with the tumor. I would have thought there might have been a little curiosity about how he was doing as the news had been delivered in such dire tones that I thought he only had weeks to live. Four months later, he has in fact continued to live and still enjoys walks, eats and drinks, urinates, etc. in normal fashion, although his mouth obviously troubles him and he has to have his food mushed up or given in small pieces. A friend, who I referred to Blueridge was very pleased with the compassionate care given her end of life dog. She also referred a friend who is pleased with Blueridge. So all in all, I was pleased with the overall service, but disappointed in the lack of personal attention. I know there are a lot of clients to deal with but when a pet is diagnosed with something terminal, I think there should be some kind of follow up. Also, Tony was prescribed medication that had to be injected into the cheek. When I explained to the person at the desk that it was impossible to administer such a treatment to Tony (he is very sensitive around his head and would only bite if I tried to put something like that in his mouth), they were somewhat perplexed as to what to prescribe. I would have thought that this kind of sensitivity in an animal was not that unusual and that there might be an alternative. Thanks again for the opportunity to review.
Great vet, kind people and good care!
Dr. Milstein, Dr. Kennedy and the rest of the staff are amazing! They are compassionate, professional, and offer a high quality of service. I've used their services for years, from regular check-ups, to surgery referrals, to crisis situations and have always been pleased with the outcome and relationship with the staff.
Very caring. Convenient parking right in front of the entrance.
We just switched our pet hospital to Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital for our chocolate lab fur baby and could not be happier with the decision. The staff are amazingly nice and caring. Our vet took her time explaining everything to us in detail so we get the understanding of why we need to do the things she wanted us to do for our dog to get better. For the first time in 18 years of owning dogs, we didn't feel like they were just prescribing her medicine and doing test for money and purely for the health of our dog. Highly recommend this hospital.
Just called to ask the cost of a routine spay on a 3yr old dog where I have already paid $180 for the blood work. I couldn't believe that they want $$$$470!!!!! Why don't people spay their dog??????
Was recommended to Blueridge-Cove by local doggy daycare people and found them great. My dog is a rescue and was barking a lot and quite anxious and the nurse took her outside to let me fill out my paperwork. The vet was great too. Will definitely be going back :-)
Always super friendly and care for every pet that comes in. No matter how big and scary they may be. ????
Excellent service!! We wouldn't take Molly anywhere else.
I brought my cat in to get some travel medication. The staff and vet on duty were so friendly and attentive to me and my cat. They were very helpful ????
Good service, friendly, competent ataff.
Extremely knowledgeable loving caring staff.
Blueridge Cove is simply the BEST Veterinary Animal Hospital, ever. We've been seeing various Doctors at Blueridge for a number of years, and they are, without exception, the kindest, most dedicated, and most experienced professionals you could ever trust the care of your pet to. Particularly, I would like to thank Dr. Jay Bridges, who has helped us through the passing of two cats, in the past year, and a number of surgical procedures for our wonderful Labradoodle, Larka. Jay is so gifted with animals. Larka actually looks forward to seeing him, which is a first for her. Jay also understands that good care is not dependent on the owner's ability to pay premium prices, so makes sure that care is given, no matter what the circumstance. I would not go to any other vet. These folks are fantastic!
Dr Christine Kim is so lovely. My goldendoodle puppy Molly just LOVES her (and all the treats she gets from Dr Kim!). All of the staff at Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital take the time to make you feel so comfortable and at ease. Molly looks forward to her visits and adores all the loving attention she receives. I would absolutely recommend Blueridge-Cove to anyone who is looking for a reliable, friendly, compassionate Vet.
There are a lot of decent vets out there - but not nearly as many who genuinely care about you and your pet. Kim and her staff check off both those boxes, which is enough for me.
My animals liked the staff and it is fair pricing.
Everyone at Blueridge Cove is caring and professional. I feel secure in the knowledge that they have my animals' best interests at heart. I will never go elsewhere.
Took care of my pup asap, really caring environment
Dr. Kim Kennedy is absolutely amazing! We are extremely happy to have her taking care of our Bella. Dr. Kennedy is extremely caring and goes above & beyond to make sure our little girl is healthy & happy. There isn't a better vet out there!
Loving staff, exceptional care for our baby, our 1.5 year old cat, Tortrix. We couldn't be more pleased with the care our Tortrix received during his last two surgeries. Great customer service, impressed by the many follow up calls, wanting to find out how he was doing, and thought Dr. Bridges went above and beyond in ensuring Tortrix recovered fully. I see no reason to visit any other vet from now on.
We were very disappointed with our latest visit to our vet. We took our small dog in as we were concerned she was experiencing a food allergy. We assumed we would need to go back to basics with her food and take her off anything new however because she had not eaten or drank for a day an she was quite lethargic we took her in. Our dog happily took the treats the vet gave her so she obviously had some appetite. The vet did not present us with options such as eliminating foods but went right to blood work, swab, urine test. At not time did she let us know what the costs might be for all these tests and if they indeed were really necessary and imagine our surprise when we were presented with a bill for $550. Also the vet had her own large dog roaming in the office and although friendly our little dog was intimidated and hid under our chairs in the waiting room. We have been going here for a number of years but will not be returning.
Dr. Sang and the front desk staff were very professional and personable. Not at any time during the visit with my two dogs did Dr. Sang try to push any products on us, but instead gave us both sides of the argument for why to or not to use certain products. Overall, our experience at the Blueridge-Cove animal hospital was positive. All of the staff made us feel welcome and seem to inherently care about the well-being of our dogs. So fortunate to have a great vet clinic close to home.
When Capilano Pet Hospital was shut down by its far-away owners, we moved to BlueRidge Cove vets as many did. Dr. Kim Kennedy and Dr. Milstein are both very kind & experienced, knowledgeable vets. We especially enjoy working with Dr. Kim Kennedy, for her candidness and practical and understanding approach. Our dog Tika and our senior cat Tazzy (aka 'Badness' when she was younger) have been very well taken care of by Dr. Kennedy and the other vets at BRCove animal hospital. AND dont forget all the wonderful young women who are the team of Vet Assistants & vet trainees, who are great to work with also. We highly recommend the team at BlueRidge Cove Animal Hospital. Sincerely, Jim Helten & Amanda Barlow
My dogs and I have been clients of Blueridge for a few decades now and I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. They really care and even talk about my naughty Jack Russell Spike with affection (or humour). My dogs have never had to wait with an immediate issue and follow-up is excellent.
Most uncaring staff I have ever met. I have been going to this vet for 10 years. My vet from there was on holidays and have no complaints with her. I started calling them at 8am that my cat was having seizures I need to talk to a vet and bring him in. Their reply was the vet would call but they are booked right up for the next week. Vet never called so two hours later I called. They had a cancellation for the next day, I need to get in that day. Still no call from the vet. I called 5 times that day. Finally took him to another vet. Called blueridge at 5:30 to have my cats records sent to the new vet. 10 min later a vet from there calls me. A little too late. I ended up having to put my cat to rest with the help of another vet and their caring staff 36 hours later. Hello Blueridge Seizures are a serious matter. They obviously do not know this. Stay away....
Friendly and caring staff,great doctors
I had been to several other vets to try to resolve my old dog's skin problems. When someone at the Dog Park noticed that the problems seemed to be getting worse, they recommended I see Dr. Kim Kennedy at Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital. Dr. Kennedy is excellent - she takes the time to analyze the issue carefully, having in mind her vet training but also practical considerations like the age of the animal, cost, likelihood of the dog/owner following through etc. She followed up by phone in the next few days to ensure everything was going well. The staff are also very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. A few months after my visit, my dog's skin problems have essentially disappeared and he seems happier/younger than he has in years. Kudos to Blueridge-Cove!
Great place... Dr Kim is a true professional. She is so caring, patient, and thorough. Really happy so far with their care of my puppy poodle.
I have been a client of Blueridge-Cove Animal hospital for many years, first with Dr. Milstein and now Dr Kennedy. I have received knowledgeable, caring and sensitive treatment for my animals. The clinic always seems to be spotlessly clean and professional in every way. I recommend this animal clinic with confidence.
Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital is the best animal care place for Rosie and one of the best care that she has had ever she has had and still has. She has been under their care for the last eleven years and still going strong. The doctors and care staff are very caring and loving to Rosie always and all of their furry friends and when it comes to Rosie who is hard to please and stubborn at times she always looks forward to going there and I know that when I leave her there whether it be day care or a sleep over I know she is in good hands and I can rest easily. People always ask me where I take Rosie or who I recommend as a vet and I always recommend Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital.
Fantastic service. Kind, knowledgable and understanding staff.
We have had our dogs under their care since 1992 but have chosen to leave for a number of reasons. In 2016 one of our border collies was misdiagnosed and sent to a specialist for "back problems" - a routine chest X-ray discovered advanced metastatic lung cancer. We were dismayed that this was missed as a cancer diagnosis is always distressing, albeit not uncommon for an older pet- our dog was gone two weeks later. In addition and more importantly, perhaps we could have eased our pet's discomfort much earlier on with judicious pain control. This experience was both egregious and very upsetting. A couple of years prior, a vet who is no longer at BRCove medicated our other border collie very heavily thinking that there were arthritic issues - the side effects were numerous so we unilaterally decided to take him off medication and begin aqua therapy - our dog benefited greatly as he loved to swim and he lived to age seventeen years! Finally, our current young border collie was deemed to be aggressive based on his behaviour at the clinic - the vet attending him was afraid of being bitten and her angst was picked up by our dog - any thoughtful dog owner knows that their pet's perception of fear upon the part of a person can trigger anxious barking. It should be noted that other than one instance of grabbing a person's jacket when he was 7 months old after being surprised by this person's very close proximity as she passed by, our dog has never bitten anyone (our dog was on a very short leash at the time). The nature of a border collie is to herd anyone who is close by and part of this can include being snappy. They are admittedly high strung dogs and must be approached in a friendly, relaxed manner. A vet should at least know these basic character traits of this breed but the BRCove vet refused to see our dog unless he was muzzled (OK by us) and heavily medicated with butorphenol (not OK). In addition, her demeanor was very off putting to our dog and myself. As a result of such negative experiences, our pet became extremely anxious when visiting the clinic. The vet subsequently apologized for her upset but did suggest that we leave her practice - so much for respecting the needs of a patient and prioritizing what is most important. Having a paramedical healthcare background professionally, I was extremely offended and made to feel that the clinic staff and even a courier were more important than my dog! Philosophically, the patient should always come first. We now have a new vet who works beautifully with our dog and who took the time to get to know him and to approach him in a relaxed fashion - no muzzle or medication needed. Coincidentally, when a courier visited the reception area one of the vet techs distracted our dog beautifully rather than telling me to remove my dog from the clinic. A visit to Canada West for a gait issue was also very uneventful with respect to our dog's demeanor - the specialist was surprised by the "aggressive" designation written in the referral from BRCove. In conclusion, we were delighted with the care provided by Dr. Milstein for so many years - he is a superb clinician who provided wonderful care. However, our experiences since his retirement have been less than stellar. Our dog is now medication free and is a delightful family member and friend to both people and other dogs.
Although this place is quite far away from our home, we still don't mind to take our pet here. I think that would have said enough on how great staff and the Vet. Very appreciated their care of our pet. Highly recommend!
Dr Shay (Shae?) is very thorough and kind vet, and test results were very quick (only took a day)
I cannot say enough about how great the team at the Blueridge Cove Animal Hospital. When we arrived to town 3 years ago - we originally went to them because of positive reviews on-line and they have NEVER disappointed. The staff (doctors, technicians and reception ) are all very friendly, kind, caring and knowledgeable. We have 2 cats , one of which has required constant monitoring over the past 8 months and the care they have provided has been incredible. Vet bills can be expensive and yet, they try to help make things affordable whenever possible with a variety of options - which I appreciate . To give you an example of them going above and beyond - on December 24th - they called out of the blue to check up on our chronically sick cat and make sure everything was going well and to let us know they would be closed for the next 48 hours. I was blown away by how kind it that was - they truly do care... and you can tell with all the animals who come and go while you are in the reception area of the clinic. You will not be disappointed and your pets will be well cared for...
Dr Kim takes really good care of our cat.
This place used to be awesome but has gone downhill because of staff change I believe. They don’t care about your animal just money. The latest issue was today when I tried to pick up my dogs medication and the price jumped up from $98 a month to a $128 lol. When I brought this up to their attention they tried telling me $128 is the normal price. Then I came home and found the invoice showing the meds are $98 which I will attach the picture of. Blueridge-Cove has turned into a disgusting organization that is more concerned about making money by ripping people off that care about their animals than actually helping the animals. I hope you guys get some morals or something? I strongly recommend anyone going here to seek a new veterinarian. Ps. They keep removing my invoice showing that 30 days of medication costs $98
Have been a satisfied customer since Dr. Moe first arrived back in the seventies. We've come a long way together, with both Moe and more recently Kim, both ultra-professionals who have never hesitated to take on every problem our five Golden Retrievers have thrown at them. We are VERY lucky to have this facility in our neighbourhood; I am so impressed with the development of the Animal Hospital facilities over the years, and its smooth and competent management. The loyal support staff have shown real love and empathy for both the sick animals and the distressed owners! Well done, and best wishes for the future!
Like many others for many many years and multiple pets we have raved about Blueridge Cove, specifically the vets as they are all terrific; Now, try to get past reception. Our recent experiences interacting with the front end staff, one specifically, has left us shaking our heads, angry, looking to GOOGLE for answers and quite frankly reaching out to friends for a new vet referal. Like another review- we could not get an appointment for an urgent matter - the best they could do was 10 days, our dog would be dead by then - there was no care or concern on receptions part, couldn't have care less if she tried. The lack of concern, empathy and the level of disinterest was appalling. Over the years we have received excellent care from this vets office, something has definitely gone wrong here. The vets are great, if you can get past reception.
Blueridge-Cove has cared for number of our furry family members, cats, dogs, and gerbils it doesn't matter they have taken great care of them all. I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else!
I was mortified when Capilano Veterinary Hospital suddenly had to close its doors and I had two geriatric dogs in need of care, but subsequently I was referred to Dr. Kim Kennedy at Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital who is the best, most loving, caring, compassionate vet I have ever come across. She has the requisite veterinary skills (and then some) but beyond that her way with both animal and person is beyond compare. Dr. Kennedy has seen me through some experiences that no pet owner wants to endure, yet she has the capacity to bring you through any medical calamity with soothing grace that makes it bearable. I have also had the pleasure of dealing with Drs. Jay and McKee and they too have the skill and compassion that makes them excellent vets and part of this wonderful team. What stands out for all in addition to obvious medial know-how is the communication at every level: you always know what is going on with your dog (animal). The staff is also excellent. Having geriatric dogs on special diets and medications I have relied heavily on the staff to expedite many of my needs and requests and they are stellar in their duties and could not be friendlier. I am just so fortunate to have found this place and highly recommend it to any and all dog (animal) lovers.
I have been taking generations of dogs and cats to Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital and with all the dogs (5) and cats (forget how many) they have been very welcoming, professional, and healing, as much as they could be given the circumstances. Dr. Kennedy has been incredible with my current dog who has had cancer for roughly 4 1/2 years now, I never expected him to live so long, and although Dr. Kennedy didn't "cure" the cancer, she made sure my dog was comfortable and symptoms managed as best as possible. She is also cost conscious and has used medications that have saved us money from alternate drugs out there. We have also boarded our dog with cancer at the vet's as we didn't want to burden any friends with a sick dog in case something happened and they felt guilty. My dog's boarding experience (a number of times) during our absence was good. How do I know, he doesn't shake with fear when I take him there. And he likes Dr. Kennedy, my dog gives four paws up for the clinic. Rick Nicholson
I have had Dr. Kim Kennedy as my vet from soon after she arrived at Blueridge-cove Animal Hospital. She has cared for my 2 cats and a dog over this time. I have always had animals in my life. I always respected her compassion , open discussion of options and clinical care. She has often gone above and beyondthe call of duty. Work took me away from the lower mainland for 6 years and I encountered two more vets. This only heightened my recognition of her skill and and responsiveness. Thankfully I have returned to BC. In spite of living a long way from Noth Vancouver I am pleased to make the trek to have my pets cared for by her.
I was blown away by the professionalism of this clinic. Dr. Alberto was sensational! I would highly recommend this Veterinary clinic to anyone. My fiancé and I just moved to town and our dog became ill (he's ok now), not having found a vet I showed up with out an appointment and was taken care of promptly. Every staff member I dealt with was kind and competent. They kept me up to date every step of our dogs treatment and got him back on his feet. During this stressful time the kept both myself and my dog at ease. I greatly appreciate what they did for us and we are glad we found our Vet in our new home city.
Blueridge Cove has been my families go to Vet for 32 years, beginning with a dog named Muggins. (right JR !) They have been awesome whenever we have needed them to be. From routine check-ups to spontaneous or more serious issues to those tough end of life decisions. Kind, caring and always inately sensitive to our concerns as clients. Drs. Milstein and Kennedy are simply the best!
Amazing staff, compassionate, caring, have your best interests at heart with respect to cost avoidance. I have never had as good experiences as we have had with these vets and assistants.
Dr. Kennedy is the best veterinarian we have gone to. In all the places I've lived in Canada, I've dealt with 5 other clinics and have never had service as good as Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital. I have always had a good feeling going to Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital. Dr. Kennedy has an incredible connection with our animals which means a lot to us. They explain everything carefully, give us all our options, and help us make an informed choice. They are fair, reasonable, and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.
We currently have 5 pets in our family and Blueridge Cove has been our vet for years. They are uniformly fantastic. Drs Bridges, Milstein and Kennedy are all wonderful vets and it is obvious that they genuinely love animals. They are all, careful, gentle, thorough, but at the same time, not pushing you into veterinary care that your pets do not need. It is a warm and caring office and they have helped us through serious illness, loss through old age and many other trials. I would not hesitate to recommend this veterinary office (in fact, I recommend them to my friends all the time) and trust them implicitly.
We had our first experience at Blueridge-Cove Animal Hospital last week after switching from another. We were warmly welcomed, felt comfortable with their professionalism and care for our puppy. Also educating us to ensure we made the proper decision for his health. They weren't trying to give him pills, or give him shots to help temporarily (other vets did this so we would have regular visits $$$) - they were helping us find a natural way to cure the problem. Overall it was a great experience and we have found our new permanent Animal Hospital. Great staff and great knowledge.
Dr Kennedy IS the vet you want on your team when dealing with your pet's health. She is realistic about aging pets, will not promote services that are not needed, will work with you on optional to surgery solutions. The staff are great and the service is wonderful. Exceeded our expectations completely!
Excellent clinic, always happy with the service.
We moved to this veterinary practice after our former vet clinic closed down. We're very glad! We found kind and knowledgeable treatment of our pet, good communications including prompt calls back, and people who really care. We dealt with several vets, all of whom were first-rate, including most lately Dr Kennedy. We really appreciated her open and realistic discussions of our pet's likely terminal condition, discovered in the middle of last year, and her willingness to work with us step by step towards a diagnosis with no pushing of high-cost options. It eased a very difficult process.
Fabulous experience. I highly recommend this animal hospital.
We started to go Blueridge-Cove in about 1999 after having a really expensive and bad experience at another Vet. Our dog was looked at by Dr. Milstein who knew exactly what to do to help him and us. We never looked back. Dr. Mo and Kim saved one of our dog's lives after we were told to let him go. He fully recovered to stay with us a few more years. We have had all four dogs to the doctors there, and all the experiences have been positive, even in the difficult stages with elderly dogs. The staff and doctors are wonderful, they truly are a great team. When our next pup arrives, we will happily take him there for health needs.
Great place, super professional they do such an amazing job! My dog is always excited to go back
We had to take our cat in as she was not well at all but we didn’t know why. The staff and doctors there are world class. They worked intelligently to troubleshoot our cats ailment and within two visits got her what she needed to heal. What makes it five star is the fact we had a serious problem and our pets care was first, not our pocket book. Our cat was saved and we didn’t break the bank either. Staff even put in extra effort to follow up and make sure everything worked our well with the recovery. We could not be more thankful! World class.
I feel like I’ve struck gold finding this place for our pets. They are so friendly, competent and compassionate. Dr. Kennedy is an absolute gem. The greatest vet I have ever encountered.
My elderly dog had teeth falling out and rotting teeth. I took her to another vet, who did not seem to know much about teeth and said I could leave them and monitor her. I decided to get a second opinion at Blueridge. The Dr. I saw was very knowledgeable and advised me to have the rotting teeth removed immediately to avoid kidney disease. He had performed many similar operations. They did a great job with her, and she's much happier now. The Dr. explained the procedure in detail before the operation and an assistant explained how to administer all the meds after. In addition, our cat recently had to be euthanized, and I thought it was sweet that they sent us a sympathy card.
Dr. Kennedy has been treating my elderly dog Bandit and my younger pooch Quila for several years now. She is kind, caring and practical, always has great suggestions for managing their care at home and really takes the time to understand your wishes and concerns. I won't take my furbabies anywhere else!
Thank you Christina and Doctor for helping us with the special prescription food for our cat! You saved us from a stressful situation, and we are grateful for your compassionate and friendly service.
Awesome staff, they have looked after our 2 cats and now our new puppy, Gave us great advise and training tips. Will continue to be the only vet we will use. OUTSTANDING !
Not happy at all! I was quoted almost four times the price for the same dental procedure my pet ended up having done at another veterinarian . They then attempted to justify their ludicrous price by trying to convince me thier service is superior ! I also ended up paying in advance for a blood test that I found out was completely optional. I think they pull thier surgery prices from the air as they go along !
Kind, caring service from a vet who truly cares! Hard to find in this city. They even call to follow up!
Nothing but the best from VCA. Poor Willie couldn't get around with his cone of shame but their service and care was great
