I called Amir based on a referral from a friend. I was not disappointed. Amir's combination of passion and honesty is what will keep me coming back. His passion for his work is obvious and shines through when he is doing his examinations. He is extremely thorough and his knowledge is unmatched. While doing his examination, he will explain to you everything and he is extremely upfront about what work needs to be done and what the fees will be. It is extremely convenient to have him come directly to my home. He made me feel very comfortable and I could tell how much he cared about the health of my dog. After he had done the tests and and administered the medication necessary my dog was better within a few days. Amir checked in with me via text each day to see how he was doing and we stayed in contact. I would highly suggest his services. After going to a few different vet clinics and talking with other pet owners I have realized how rare it is to find a person who truly prioritizes my pet's health over making a profit.

Our cat was our family, and Amir treated him that way. When we had to take our cat to emergency, Amir was very responsive, and took the time to explain things to us that many other vets did not. Extremely impressed and very grateful that Amir was able to help out my kitty when I needed him! Found blood in her litter the night before and spent the whole day calling vets. I think Dr. Amir is great. My cat had been transported to at least 3 clinics in the last months and each visit was harder than the last to get the cat in her carrier Dr. Amir came to my house! I can honestly say that the last time I saw a doctor make a house call was probably around 50 years ago! Not only that he explained my cat Halley's condition in a way that somehow made more sense to me than what I'd already been told by other veterinarians. I have no hesitation at all about recommending him to anyone who is concerned about their pet's welfare. He also understood that veterinary care can be very expensive and didn't hesitate to outline what the cost could be for each procedure My mother's cat was very sick and Dr Amir helped by letting the cat pass at home and not in some strange environment So what can I say that hasn't already been said by others? Couldn't be more grateful for Dr. Amir's advice and genuine compassion. Our older (15 yo) cat Precious was diagnosed with suspected GI lymphoma in Nov 2020 and we've going to an oncology specialized vet for the past 6 months. We've been following a treatment of chemo and steroids with varying results. Generally, it seemed to be helping Precious but a few weeks ago she took a downturn (loss of appetite, diarrhea, much more lethargic, some weakness in her back legs). I should say at this point our main concern and responsibility from the beginning was Precious's quality of life - we understood she was older and we weren't going to 'cure' her but wanted to provide a reasonable course of treatment as long as it wasn't overly invasive, risky and gave her more pain free and happy time with us. So when Precious took the extended downturn we made the very difficult decision to euthanize her and made an appointment with Sherbrooke’s. Dr. Amir. My first impression of Dr. Amir was professional yet casual and caring which made an emotional situation easier to deal with. Upon meeting Precious, we had a great conversation on what the general medical issues/treatments had been experiencing so far. Dr. Amir provided a much more objective view of Precious’s quality of life without looking at the cancer treatments, something we had become very focused on. Knowing our concern with quality of life, Dr. Amir talked us through a generalized checklist of many other factors we could evaluate and keep track of for determining her general health. Dr Amir wasn’t trying to change our minds on our decision but wanted us to be well informed and allowed a back and forth communication for close to 3 hours where we could ask any questions and get realistic, honest answers we could understand. Here’s the best news. Over the course of the appointment (talking and gaining a much more ‘big picture’ view, general physical exam, weight check) we came to realize and feel much more confident that Precious’s quality of life was still pretty good and we weren’t going to have to say goodbye. We couldn’t have been more happy and grateful where the day ended up and can let you know Precious has had several great weeks with both chemo treatments and her general health since that day. Before leaving Dr. Amir offered us to be able to contact him anytime with questions or concerns as well as following up a few days later on how Precious was doing. We can honestly give a 5 star review to Dr. Amir for his professionalism, knowledge and genuine concern and compassion for both animals (pets) and the people who love them and wouldn’t hesitate recommending him.

Dr. Amir visited my mother's cat and provided her with excellent care. My mother really didn't want to upset her 14-year old cat with a trip to the vet, worrying that the carrier and the drive would add to the stress she seemed to be already feeling. Dr. Amir was very responsive and engaged; he gathered up her old records and analyzed them, suggested immediate changes in her diet (which were long overdue), even removed some small mats that had started in her coat, and he's kept in touch to follow up on the cat since. We had never used a mobile vet before but our poor old dog couldn't walk anymore and the thought of trying to lift her in to the car was too stressful. Dr. Amir was very quick to respond. Dr Amir was so professional, friendly and caring when he came to do a health certification for my 3 cats, and his fee was very reasonable. He arrived promptly as scheduled, and went above and beyond the required health check parameters, spending time with each cat and advising me of potential issues with the two older ones. He even did free basic urine tests (not required for health certification) right on the spot, for the two older cats as this is a common issue. He made every effort to ensure my (late) cat experienced minimal stress while providing the care she needed to stay well. I've always wanted to come across a Veterinarian that is not afraid of spending time on their patient and and truly care to find out what's going on. "We call him our Angel-Vet" To me, Dr. Amir Khosravani has not only saved my dog's life but also mine. Just about 2 weeks ago now, my dog, Basil, a 8 year-old German Shepherd Husky mix, suddenly woke up one morning with excruciating pain most likely caused by a chronic condition, osteoarthritis; a pain that must have been so extreme that nobody could touch him with running risk to be bitten by him. This was very unusual for my dog who in his entire life never once showed a sign of aggression against humans, even children but the real problem was that in this state I simply couldn't transport him to the vet clinic. With Basil whining and whimpering in the background, my partner and I frantically called literally any vet who was found by the google search engine in connection with house visits. However, not only was at a weekend and after hours but everybody we called didn't either do house visits anymore or ONLY for euthanasia. In fact, I was advised by one vet to put Basil down without ever having tried to put Basil on an adequate pain medication. I was desperate and in shock trying to accept that my dog, who up to 2 days ago, had been a happy, healthy dog previously managed fine on Glucosamine only, was now to die because I couldn't bring him to the vet. And then, my cell rang and it was Dr. Khosravani. This call changed everything!!! First of all, he treated me with so much respect sharing his medical expertise with me, explaining what different treatment options exist and their advantages and disadvantages. In so doing, he gave me for the first time the power to make an informed decision. Second, he made himself available to us almost 24 hours; he works until midnight 7 days a week, and even when he is not with you in person, he is taking the time to talk with you via phone. If you have ever been in a situation where you have to listen to your dog's suffering and feel the burden of responsibility, you will know how much Dr. Khosravani's voice of reason and compassion meant to me. On his visit at our home, Basil finally was put on a high dosage of pain medication under which he improved enough to walk with me into the car and be taken to an Animal Hospital that the doctor recommended as having one of the most compassionate care teams he had ever met. In addition, he also helped us to contact the clinic providing us with a rough quote of the expected costs - a concern that had added to my weariness as some emergency hospital in Vancouver charge between $1,500 and 2,000 for a 24 hour care, pain management, and iv fluid. The clinic he recommended was a bit further away in Coquitlam but it was well worth the drive as we were able to leave Basil in their care for 3 days. During this time, I continued talking to Dr. Khosravani several times a day, which kept me grounded. Basil is now at home again and although he is still fragile and I dare say that he used his second chance well, and I look forward to spend more time with my dog; much comforted by the knowledge that Dr. Khosravani will be there for us when we need him. My deepest gratitude and appreciation to you!

If it weren't for Dr. Amir, our cat would be long gone. A little background on our Sawyer... He is an 8 year old tabby cat who has been the picture of health his entire life. The only time he's been to the vet was for his shots and to be fixed when he was much younger. About a month ago, Sawyer started experiencing a mild case of cat acne on his chin. We didn't have a go-to family vet because Sawyer has never had any reason to visit the doctor before, so we decided to take him to a clinic in our neighbourhood - BIG mistake. This clinic treated our Sawyer and sent us home with an $800 bill for all sorts of shots, injections, antibiotics and other various items. Sawyer was seemingly fine once we brought him home, but that changed very quickly. After 48 hours of giving him the prescribed antibiotics, he completely lost his appetite and stopped drinking altogether. He became lethargic, started hiding in strange places and stopped responding to his name. We immediately brought him back to the vet, where the doctor refused to examine him - Sawyer doesn't take kindly to strangers and can be very aggressive when stressed. The doctor sent us home with a probiotic and an anti-nausea medicine. After 2 days of no improvement, we took him back. The doctor AGAIN refused to examine him, afraid that Sawyer would bite him, and sent us home with an appetite stimulant, a laxative and a pheromone diffuser, claiming that 'the cat will eat eventually and it's nothing serious'. After another 24 hours of no improvement, we decided to call Dr. Amir for a home visit and second opinion. Thank God we did. Dr. Amir answered our call immediately and within a few short hours, he was at our apartment. For over 2 hours, Dr. Amir listened to our story, asked countless questions and examined our cat. He was so incredibly thoughtful, respectful and able to finally give us some answers. At the end of the appointment, he told us that we needed to take him for immediate hospitalization. Dr. Amir didn't hesitate to call in a favour with one of his colleagues (at 9pm at night) so that we were able to bring Sawyer in the next morning when they opened. Within 2 hours of dropping Sawyer off the next morning, we had a diagnoses - acute kidney failure. It is presumed that the shot of Metacam and antibiotics (from the previous Vet) sent his kidneys into overdrive and likely caused the shutdown. He stayed at the hospital for 3 nights on fluids and somehow he made a full recovery. If we hadn't sought out Dr. Amir for a second opinion on our cat, he wouldn't have made it another day. His amazing bedside manner, attentiveness and caring demeanour were invaluable to us in our time of need. We had become so frustrated and desperate from our first experience, it was so refreshing and comforting to have Dr. Amir in our home. Not only did he save Sawyer's life, but he continued to text us throughout the entire experience to check in on Sawyer, and even went so far as to call the hospital and get copies of his bloodwork so he knew what was going on with our baby. To this day, Dr. Amir messages us and checks in on Sawyer. Thank you, Dr. Amir. You went above and beyond for us and our cat, and we are eternally grateful for your visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

On recommendation of my friend I called Dr. Khosravani around midnight. He came to my house and spent enough time examining my cat and advised me to take her to Animal Hospital. He has saved her life. She would not be here today if it wasn't for him.. He called often to find out how is she doing and came to see her in person. I am very impressed. There is only one Dr. Amir Khosravani because he is more than a professional veterinarian. He is also Dr. councillor, friendly , very knowledgable. I found him kind, concerned, and most understanding doctor. He is an excellent doctor, who will give your pet all the medical help and advice you need. We have an adopted stray cat named Hobo, who is extremely difficult to get to the vet. He gets extremely stressed and it’s a nightmare for him, so we researched mobile vets as a last resort so we could keep up with his shots and general health. After reading some Google reviews, we decided to go with Sherbrooke, as the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The reviews were right. Dr. Khosravani was amazing. Unlike any vet I’ve ever experienced, he took his time to get to know Hobo and go acclimatize to his particular personality. There was no rush, no pressure and only once Hobo had become comfortable did Dr. Khosravani proceed with the routine examination and vaccination in a gentle and very professional and respectful manner. Apart from being excellent with pets, Dr. Khosravani is also very forthcoming with information to their owners. He is very patient and ensures that any questions you have are answered clearly and thoroughly. We met Dr. Amir at one of the most difficult times in our lives. It was time that we had to say goodbye to our very ill shepherd-lab cross of only 4.5 years old. We were not willing to say goodbye any sooner than we had to, and we really wanted to see if there was any hope of him regaining his strength, so it ended up being very late into the night when we came to the ultimate conclusion. We contacted Dr. Amir out of desperation as our vet was unavailable for house calls, and our only other option would have been the emergency after-hours vet (whom we also didn’t know). Dr. Amir came to our home around 1am on a Sunday, and was very compassionate to our situation. We felt comfortable with Dr. Amir very quickly, and he took an amazing amount of time, at such a late hour to talk to us. Once we had everything figured out, Dr. Amir was so kind and patient to give us so much time to cuddle and say goodbye to our beloved friend. It was so nice to say goodbye peacefully, and our friend was able to go to rest on his own bed, in the comfort of his home. Dr. Amir now provides all the veterinary care for our other dog, and we have had such a positive and educational experience with Dr. Amir (he is full of information, and is very informative and supportive with us making the ultimate decisions to what vaccinations we choose, benefits vs drawbacks, etc). We also enjoy not having to wait in a waiting room--it doesn’t feel like waiting when you are at home doing whatever you want before he arrives for your appointment! And though not all animals in conventional vet’s waiting rooms are there due to illness, we do take comfort in avoiding sitting beside other dogs who could be contagious. Getting to know Dr. Amir has been a very positive experience for us, and his passion for helping animals shows through as soon as you meet him. We feel very lucky to have found him.

We first met Dr. Amir Khosravani during a very stressful and emotional time in our lives. Our beloved, sweet, sixteen and a half year old chow Sasha was failing terminally. I can honestly say that Dr. Khosravani’s gentle, kind and sympathetic care that evening made saying goodbye to Sasha easier. He took the time to answer all our questions and explain every possible scenario. His care for Sasha was exemplary. Once we were ready, we adopted two rescue chows; Midnight and Blackie. I searched out Dr. Khosravani through his website. He made a home visits for a simple checkup and de-worming. I know that Dr. Khosravani spent far more time with all of us than a typical vet appointment. He again answered every question we had. He gave us addition information regarding nutrition and training and spent literally two hours with our new dogs. Dr. Amir is a very compassionate and understanding Vet. Recently I needed a vet who would be able to assist me in caring for my dog who was in the last stages of lung cancer. I wanted my dog to be as comfortable as possible and didn't want to put him through any stress and so relying on the hours of his regular vet at the clinic didn't seem like the right choice. I knew I needed a vet who did house calls. Dr. Amir was very knowledgable in current ideology regarding hospice care for my dog. In fact, I found Dr. Amir to be more forthcoming in sharing insightful information about my pet as well as being more informative than any veterinarian I have used prior. He takes the time to explain in detail what is physiologically occurring inside the body of an ill pet and is sensitive to your pets needs and also your wellbeing as the pet parent. I think that Dr. Amir's approach is multifaceted; he not only understands the clinical aspects of your pets health but also greatly considers your pets behaviour and emotions in is assessment. I personally feel this is the right approach as it provides a much better overall and accurate view of your pets condition and therefore a more accurate diagnosis and treatment than most veterinarians are able to offer by solely observing your pet within the clinic environment. The great advantage of a house call is that Dr. Amir is able to assess a pet's emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing in their natural surroundings. He's able to get a "full picture" while examining the pet in the home environment rather than a "snap shot" when the pet is observed in a vet clinic environment. I'm grateful that his house call services are available as an option to going to a clinic.

Dr.Amir has been the most efficient and caring original from any background I have ever encountered. His diagnosis with my pets was phenomenal, both my cats were comfortable with his examinations and even get excited when he makes return visits. My younger cat seemed on the verge of passing away; she was lethargic, starving herself and was becoming more prone to infections. With Dr.Amir's consultation her condition has completely reversed. I met Dr. Khosravani after searching for an alternative way to have a vet examine my two cats. One of my cats is extremely shy around strangers and in unknown environments and the other one gets extremely aggitated whenever I have to take her to the vet. Having Dr. Khosravani come to the house, thoroughly examining my cats and taking the time to evaluate every aspect of their upkeep, walking me through every step of the exam and explaining his diagnosis in laymens' terms and with an incredible amount of patience gives me the peace of mind that my two cats are being looked after the best way possible. I had to say goodbye to one of my kitties in November 2019 and I found the Sherbrooke Veterinary Housecall Services website. First of all, it was a relief to find that Dr. Amir’s business hours was until later at night, where some of the house call vet services I found were closed at 6pm and not available on weekends. When I first called Dr. Amir, he wanted to know what my cat’s condition was, and as I was explaining about how I just found out my cat has a terminal cancer, he made me feel better by telling me I’m doing the right thing to not let her suffer until it gets really bad. She already wasn’t really eating, and I didn’t want to wait until she gets even weaker. I had originally planned to have Dr. Amir come over a day and half later, but I had changed my mind later and had asked if he could come earlier. He was flexible enough to come a day earlier, not that that should be expected but when I apologized about changing my mind his response was "whatever is the best for your cat". I had friends and family over when it was time to say goodbye, and Dr.Amir was very careful, patient and kind as we waited until my cat felt comfortable to be around a stranger in my apartment. Somehow I wasn’t feeling devastated, I even felt comfortable chit chatting with everyone and saying goodbye to my cat felt like a natural part of my life. I was still sad to see my kitty go of course, but I was really happy to have Dr. Amir help me say goodbye to my cat. A month and a half later, just before Christmas my other cat became severely sick with multiple health issues. I was feeling really emotional as I had just lost my first cat and now my second cat was really sick and I had never seen him that sick before. He’s an older cat and he already has health issues, but this time I felt really hopeless for his recovery. He was hospitalized 3 nights in total, multiple vet visits apart from that, he had stopped eating and I was considering to let him go as well. It has been one of those moments that I was worried about "keeping him alive" only to let him suffer, but also I didn’t know what to do. I contacted Dr. Amir to originally ask about potentially saying goodbye to my second kitty as well, but as I was filling him in, he even took a look at the blood work results and ultrasound results I had gotten done at the vet. He gave me some advice with what might help my cat to eat, and from the test results unlike my first kitty, my second kitty’s test results didn’t look too bad, so he just didn’t want me decide something I don’t have to do yet. I was not aware of the fact that if I’m giving antibiotics to my cat, I should be giving probiotics prior to giving antibiotics. Since my cat was having runny nose and sneezing issues which could potentially be viral, he also recommended me to ask my vet to prescribe me some supplements that help with it. It’s just these little things he educated me gave me comfort and with the ups and downs, my cat is so far doing well. He’s still weak and his appetite fluctuates so I’m still monitoring him but apart from my usual vets’ help, keeping in touch with Dr.Amir has been amazing. He let me know that I can text him anytime and he’s been constantly giving me advice and support. I cannot stress enough how much I highly recommend the Sherbrooke Veterinary Housecall Services. Having Dr.Amir’s support has been absolutely wonderful. Thank you very much.

My husband and I recently adopted a semi-feral cat from the shelter, that had never lived in a home before. Although very sweet, our little girl Leona was very timid and anxious of the new environment. She started to present some respiratory issues and we've decided to get her checked.
