You have the feddbacks of people like you who are using the services of Sardis Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in British Columbia (Canada).
To this day this business receives a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is virtually the highest, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are happy, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Animal hospital.
We have been taking our pets to Sardis Animal Hospital for the last 5 years. We have always had a positive experience in dealing with every staff member right from the moment we walk in the door with the receptionist, to the vet technicians, veterinarians and the owner. They are all fantastic. I recommend this clinic to everyone I know. I find that they are fair, reasonable and know what know what they are talking about. They show kindness towards both me and my dogs every time. It is wonderful to have found a place that we can really trust. Everyone in this office is warm, friendly and genuinely care about your pets. Thank you to Marissa, Dr. Powell and Dr. Danoe for taking such great care of Mea. Beyond words, I appreciate the kindness, service and caring that we have found here.
We can't imagine taking our 'kids' anywhere else. We've been through numerous deaths and illnesses and the Doctors and staff couldn't possibly be more friendly and professional. If you take your animals elsewhere, you are a little bit crazy.
My dog is ten years old and suffers from arthritis in one of his front legs that causes him to limp; we called twice and asked for some meds to help him with the pain, they refused and said we had to bring him in; he was recently in there for shots and a check up and I see no reason to have to bring him in again. This is just charging to make more money when it is not necessary. We also asked for some revolution meds for flees and ticks and we had to pay for that up front, we have dealt with this vet for years and have been satisfied with the service for the most part but now it seems they are getting greedy and that does not sit well with me. Yeah bring him in charge, do X-rays charge, and tell us our dog has arthritis; now you can have some pills for your dog....we already know he has arthritis we don't need to pay a bunch of money just so they say we can have pills to help our dog. The reply from the owner to my review was pathetic; no it was not the vet across the road it was your vet that acted inappropriately and trying to push it off on someone else rather than addressing the issues is not cool.
Great folks that care about the wellness of animals (pets).
The staff at the Sardis Animal Hospital are simply top-notch. They are sensitive and caring and care for our 'furbaby' like he is their own. We have been blown away by the professionalism and care of Dr. Christine Smetschka. Thank you as well to Dr. Danoe, Dr. Ricka, Helen, Marissa, Nicole, Jenny & Dee. Where I am sure many owners and vets would have been prepared to put our Ginger down when he wasn't well and we couldn't immediately find out what was wrong, Dr. Smetschka forged forward and we have a very happy and healthy furbaby as a result. We owe you our heart.
Wonderful staff Amazing after care I wish my own doctor was this good.
Staff was very friendly.
My little 17 1/2 year old “Cougar” was diagnosed with kidney disease a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, our vet clinic was sold out of his prescription food. I contacted Sardis Animal Hospital and everyone was so kind. They quickly gathered the food I needed, and let me pay over the phone with a credit card. His food was picked up and my little Cougar was able to get the special diet he needs. Thank you for your compassion. This is a really tough time, and this clinics kindness is very much appreciated.
I first met Dr Carli Ricka and subsequently the Vet Techs and Front Desk Staff in August of 2015. My Katie has been diagnosed with Grade III Mast Cell Tumors and has had 3 surgeries since then and is now undergoing chemo treatments at the Sardis Veterinary Hospital. I can honestly say Dr Carli has gone above and beyond what is to be expected and I don't know what I would do without her and this wonderful team of people. The kindness and compassion that they have shown towards Katie and I has been so very much appreciated and we love them all. Anyone who chooses this hospital for veterinary care will not be disappointed and will have the very best care possible for their pets. Just want to say that Katie is doing amazing on the chemo and you wouldn't even know she has cancer. :)
Fantastic vets and staff. Reasonably priced. They care.
Personally, this is the worse experience I have ever gone through with a animal hospital in all my 53 yrs.My cat stopped eating and only drinking sparingly.Instead of doing a blood sample initially, decided on another course of action. After twenty four hours, her condition wasn't better. She was getting worse. After contacting them and inquiring about different courses of action, the lady at the front desk was supposed to call me back Never did So when I called back , instead of showing empathy and professionalism, she showed the opposite. She was in my opinion, rude. If you truly love and care for your beloved pet , don't bring him or her here That same day I brought my cat to another vet, just down the street from this vet, family vet, they showed empathy and professionalism, and saw that she needed immediate treatment.reponse to their comments to mine: At no time was I rude to your staff My wife was in the same room when I was talking.Yes , you did follow up by phone to see how granola was doing but no I didn't say she was doing better .I was at that time wanting to find out more information about other steps could be taken but no money was an issue with us.As all can see by your feedback, it was the right decision to have my cat brought to another vet who truly care.
Super friendly staff
Great overall experience. Extremely friendly staff
The best place for pet care
Nice employees and they know what they are doing
Always a clean professional place.
My mom always took our dogs here as kids, and now that I have my own dog I take him here too. My previous vet lead me to believe my dog was aggressive but since I've been taking him to Sardis Animal Hospital they've had nothing but good things to say about him, which tells me they're much better at handling him. Their prices are also very reasonable. I'm very happy with this vet.
Very good Vets and staff, highly recommend always fair about everything.
The best, friendliest service always for our 4-legged kids
Quick service and very friendly staff
Cobalt is always excited to come see the friendly team at Sardis Animal Hospital because they take such great care of him. And I love the flexible and extended hours!
Great service and knowledgeable staff.
Thanks
Treated mg nervous dog perfectly. She is not scared to go back which is a BIG relief for me !
I had a problem with my 13yr old Dane He need attention right away .It was almost time for them to go for the evening, but they waited for us to get there.they help right away. He was happy and I was very thankful.the best of care . Thank you so much for helping my sweet boy.
Made my dog feel comfortable and gave us time to say goodbye and spend the last moments with him in private. Will be my future vet if decide on a pet again.
Side door allows for more time with your animal if you had to put them down like we had to today. They allowed us to take time with our pet while still maintaining Covid protocol. I highly recommend this vet if you have to put down an animal, especially during Covid. Other vets I’ve been to did not have this outside access which prevented the family from spending those unexpected final minutes with our family pet. Friendly, professional and attentive.
We have been going here for years..... Love the great care our furry friends recieve
Have been clients over many years with various pets. Always top notch and caring service. Love that they are an AAHA approved hospital. They also have a sense of humour when it was noticed my dog and I wore matching colours at a recent visit! Lol
Have veterinarians who care about your critters and ensure they get their regular checkups. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff too.
Very covid-19 aware. Cat obviously not happy about being here, but customer service was excellent.
Nice caring staff. Unfortunately they WAY over charge, should be illegal to charge what they charge for basic shots and a cat spay. Use to go here for years, now because of the new owners or whatever the prices are straight up insulting. I don't like to get robbed. Call around you will be happy you did. Sorry, not sorry. Lost a loyal customer.
Picked up medication for my dog today from the clinic. Not only were the dosages incorrect, but the instructions were wrong as well. Had I followed their instructions, my dog would have died. I have been looking for a professional vet in Chilliwack since moving here but obviously, this is not the one. I will be sure to let everyone know of my experience. I am beyond angry and disgusted Further to my review above: Dr. Powell, the owner of Sardis Animal Hospital, reached out to me. He looked into what happened and called to say it was fully their fault and he has figured out what went wrong. They are putting new procedure in place so it can't happen again. I have accepted his apology and am glad to hear this is being used as a learning opportunity. Thankfully no harm was done. Based on the follow up by the clinic I have upgraded my review from one star to three.
Absolutely love this place. Dr. Powel Is incredible and has a massive heart for our fur babies. Truely love al the staff. Love Macdog ❤️
Feels like a dr office and it is kept very clean.
I have 3 "fur babies" and they are all geriatric. I had a situation with one of my cats and needed to see someone asap. I was referred to Sardis and I am so glad that I went. The staff and Dr. Powell were amazing. He had a plan and now we will wait to see the results. I will continue to take my babies there because of the wonderful care that radiates from there. Couldn't ask for more professional and caring people.
Great staff
The Veterinarian we usually see is realy nice and caring for our many furry children. We are very grateful to have a Vet that's so great!!!
Very friendly staff. Covid safe environment. Just wait in the vehicle check in by phone and wait for the Dr. To come and get you.
They are simply the best. We recently had to put our kitten to sleep due to FIP. The staff, and especially Dr Powell, showed true compassion and care through a heartbreaking time.
We have been bringing both of our dogs here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were a huge help and so wonderful when we had to put down our beloved cat.
A very good vet. Very accommodating. Never have to wait very long. They call to remind you of appointments. 6 Dr's work here and they are open alot. They treat my animals great.
Friendly, compassionate and very knowledgeable vets/staff
Been going here 35 years. They are great
Amazing clinic with wonderful doctors. Your pets always come first with genuine interest. Covid precautions are strict and only animals enter the building (unless special circumstances). My family and I have attended this clinic with our large dogs for over 30years. Everyone is always welcoming and takes the time to thoroughly explain findings and recommendations with an open and honest approach. Unless under duress, I would not go anywhere else. 5 stars isn’t enough.
Great place to take your pets!
Awesome and caring Dr's. Very sympathetic
The most un organized vet I have ever sptepped foot in. Spent thousands of dollars on blood work over the course of two months. They finally figure out what is wrong and put my dog on medication. Ten days later she goes in again for blood work. Now they have put her on too much medication . Its only been 10 days how in the world is that possible. When I ask why they didnt start her on a lower dose because they knew this could happen, they just said this was recommended. Got me to pay 180$ a month for medication iI cannot even give my dog. Take my advice you animal is better off going to a vet that cares about their health. They just want your money.
Well trained staff but each little visit is $49 even if it’s only 10 seconds long. Good hospital, but very pricey.
All the doctors and staff are extremely caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Powell, Dr. Danoe and Dr. Rikke have been wonderful with our pets, especially when we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog of thirteen years. Can’t recommend them enough!
The first vet I had an appointment with was quite short and dismissive, and put me off initially, however the second vet was very friendly, thorough and helpful, allowing me to ask questions and respond from a place of experience and not judgement. I'd definitely suggest this practice to my friends with pets!
I absolutely love the staff here. I'm not particular about who my dog sees. Pretty sure I've had most of the doctors. They're beyond fabulous and I know they're being honest and up front about everything. Thank you for being there when she needed to spend a night.
Friendly and helpful
Amazing friendly staff.
First class Veterinary services. Very compassionate when losing a family member.
Caring and compassionate staff in a clean and professional setting
Yo t why I englush no speak
Very happy with the reception received.Did not have an appointment but did have a very sick cat so they asked me to stand by and was actually seen within 30 minutes. In addition the doctor has called me daily with an update on our cats progress. Highly recommend... quiet different reception to the vet I had tried to see.
The staff are really friendly and understanding. Their prices are the best in Chilliwack and they are open when most of the other animal hospitals are long closed.
If you have a pet this is the place to take them in Chilliwack. Professional, clean and very knowledgeable staff. They also won't charge you for things you don't need as I've found at other vets.
Google surprised me. Posted a rating I did not intend. My old dog left us some time ago and Sardis Animal Hospital could not have been more caring
So clean and so professional!!! They really care about your pet!!
Top notch care for your four legged family member. AAHA accredited for as long as they've been open. Would never take my pets anywhere else!
Rude doctor. Also, they wouldn't accept cash, so they took my six week old puppy (who I got prematurely, and was very attached to me) as collateral. Had to buy a prepaid Visa to "buy back" my puppy by paying the bill which could've taken 24 hours to activate. Once I came back and could see my puppy whining for me they informed me that (of course) the visa wouldn't process. Back to seven eleven to get the kind clerk working to call visa and put through the activation. (Btw my bill at Sardis was 10% higher than other vets nearby) so I had to buy a prepaid Visa for 150 for a bill at the vet that was only 101. Plus the activation fee for the visa. Then the vet says "fine, we take cash"....!!!!??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? After making me run back and forth to seven eleven, and witholding my puppy?? And having to pay extra for the visa??!! EXHAUSTING. Got a new vet. They're awesome. Cheam veterinary clinic.
Great service, great staff. They take great care of our Sawyer ❤
My cat was not doing well so we called and got a same day squeesed in appointment. Things aren't completely figured out but the staff and dr's are all great and caring.
Very knowledgeable and really care about animals. Prices are very reasonable.
Excellent service. Friendly staff. Awesome Doctors
Always friendly staff and helpful Doctors.
Ola was very nice and knew her job, she tried very hard to make my older dog feel better. The only complaint is that the staff was supposed to get back to me about a quote about shaving my dog. I had to call back, it was too expensive.
My go to vet. Had an issue with my cat and decided on a second opinion at another vet i highly reccomend but is far away and sure enough they were right on the mark.
Staff friendly and handled my nervous dog with care.
Best animal hospital in the valley. Have been going there with our pets for about 25 years.
Always feel my pets are well cared for. Staff courteous and professional.Veterinarian knowledgeable and thorough. I miss Dr Anvik but we all need to retire and enjoy life after all that hard work.
I've been brining my cats of various ages here as long as I can remember and they have seen many from birth to death. I always know I'm getting professional and heartfelt care when I walk through the door.
Always a great place to deal with.
Updating this to report that it turns out my dog had cancer and has had it for a LONG time based on how fast she deteriorated. This was something that we had asked this clinic about on several different occasions based on experiences we had with our other dogs of the same breed. We paid for blood tests and were assured she was fine but like I said below no one has ever seen the results of these tests we paid for. Medication may have worked if we had the chance but as it turns out we had to euthanize her. I would leave no stars if I could. I am at this point considering a lawyer and charging them with fraud and animal endangerment. Criminals!! Changed my 4 star to a 2 based on recent treatment. After 20 years here we have moved on. Tired of the misinformation, snarky staff upfront and being $300 to death. 1 example - Took my dog in for her shots and annual checkup only to get an email a month later that her shots are due. Tell them we were just there, they say these are different shots. Take her in get her shots and the vet tries to upsell me. Just give me what she needs and maybe arrange the dates for the future that this can be done in 1 visit not 2. 2nd example - call in the morning to ask about test results get told the vet needs to see us to get the results. Go in and the receptionist treats my husband like he is an inconvenience and then acts like she is doing him a favour to get him in to see the vet. For our appointment. (We always try to avoid this one as this attitude seems to be the norm) Then the vet just tells us that we have the correct medication for the problem. Pay the cashier please. What?!?!? I had to come in for that?!?!? Many more examples. Like I said we have been taking our animals here for 20 years. It took a LOT for me to leave. Adding this part after the Owners “sorry not sorry” comment. No one from the clinic has tried to contact me to discuss anything even though they knew I was upset and leaving. This is how much my 20 years of patronage meant to them. On the upside I have a vet now who actually examined my dog, (not just ordered yet another $200 test) found the cause of her recurring problem and not only treated it and gave her medication but gave us an ongoing treatment plan to avoid a recurrence of the issue. See my review of Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic.
Outstanding
They were good to me.
I have always had at least one dog and until I started taking my pets to Sardis Animal Hospital they were so upset when we took them to the vet. I now only have a black lab and he loves to go there and they are awesome to him!
Simply the best facility for the care of our furry friends at this end of the Fraser Valley. They are kind and caring. Services are reasonably priced
amazing staff
Sardis Animal hospital is great. Friendly staff and always trying to help.
The best in the west
Great place
Love this vet !
So happy with our experience with Dr. Powell and his staff. They are so caring, we felt like family from the moment we called. Dr. Powell was very informative and honest. We never felt pressured into unnecessary procedures or vaccinations. We made a drive out from the Tri-Cities and will definitely go through Sardis Animal Hospital should we need assistance again.
I always get great care for my pets here
Food is good, hours of service not so good
Wonderfull veterinary and staff
I mistakenly backed into their 'emergency' spot because I had pulled over to use my phone(like the law states????) and the office assistant came out to ask me to move even though the parking lot was completely empty. ???? Not only did she come up to my window without a mask, she completely wasted my time and hers. Get a life woman and get to work. I'm sure you have better things to do than harass someone for no good reason. The next time you want to harass someone, wear your mask if you're approaching their car or better yet, find something better to do with your time considering the parking lot was EMPTY. In your response to the reply you sent.... no need to lie. I'm sitting in my car, obviously I wouldn't wear a mask.. why would you blatantly lie about her wearing a mask? Also, my window was already down, so again please just stop lying. She approached my car without wearing a mask. Post the video. And if she was coming to my car to see if I needed attention then she should have done that right away not 5 to 7 minutes after I arrived. Nice try. Sticking up for your daughter or wife whom works for you is OK but blatantly lying to try to make your side of the story work to your advantage is pathetic.

Just moved to Chilliwack so was looking for a vet and thought I would give Sardis a try, I arrived for my appt a few minutes early and they were almost 30 minutes after my appt time before I was seen. My cat has been peeing outside of his litter box so I wanted to rule out medical before I tried to correct behavioral issies. Vet was fine, spoke to me for five minutes and ordered blood tests just to rule out kidney problems, etc. They took my cat to the back for 5 minutes. Then told me it was almost $300. Seems high but probably goes along with some ridiculously priced fee guide that they all use. I was told I would receive a call within 24-48 hours and instead received one 5 days later saying everything was normal. The 2 ladies at the front didn't seem overly friendly and noticed during my long wait that one was on the phone rolling her eyes to the other about whatever the person on the phone was saying. Will keep looking for a vet.
Never had an issues here
The all female team of Vet's are amazing!
Vet was kind, professional, and didn't push unnecessary/cosmetic services. I appreciated their professionalism; moreover, my puppy loved the staff so two paws up there too!
Very caring and friendly. Great service.
Super considerate staff.
Fair prices, and they never try and push for unnecessary interventions.
We had made the very difficult decision to put our elderly dog down and booked an appointment with Dr. Powell. The staff (from reception to tech) were very kind, thoughtful and helped us navigate the paperwork with ease. Dr. Powell was incredibly considerate and attentive to our needs and you can tell he trult cares. This experience, although extremely difficult, was made easy by this amazing clinic. I will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks- if I had the option to give them 10 stars I would.
Friendly staff..excellent pet care..great doctors..these people go that extra step even for challenging pets❤
Super good here
Had to visit Sardis Animal Hospital on a very difficult day. It was time for our precious little cat to pass over the rainbow bridge. The staff at SAH were so great - empathetic, professional and supportive. They realized the sensitivity of the situation and had a nice private room for us and we were able to take our time to say our goodbyes. They helped make a very difficult day bearable. Thank you.
The staff here are beyond amazing and so compassionate. We unfortunately had to put our dog down after a month of different meds. Unfortunately nothing worked. The staff through every step of his meds, diagnosis and his final day were amazing. They made of the hardest days that much easier.
I have been to about 5 different veterinarians in chilliwack hoping to find someone who is not only professional but obviously loves what they do, takes their time with you and your animal, and puts your mind at ease. Well I found one! Dr Powell has all of those qualities and then some. What a breath of fresh air. He’s to the point (no bs) but not cold or arrogant, he’s honest and makes me feel like he just simply wants to help. Anyone who has animals and loves them as much as my husband and I do (and my whole family) want a veterinarian like Dr Powell. Thank you for just simply being you and putting our minds at ease anytime we have to bring Bella in ???? please don’t ever leave or change! LOL
I called and the receptionist put me on hold 3 times did not know her products and prices. Better go to chilliwack animal hospital cheaper prices and friendly staff.
They are caring kind and gentle with my cats
Amazing Staff. They have been so helpfull when it comes to our pets. Recently our cat has been acting strange, having issues and they got us in in no time to help ease the stress on the family.
Whoever is running the reception really should look for other work. I thought maybe the first time I tried to take my puppy in to see them, maybe she was having a bad day or something. I had filled out a client form the night before as my puppy was bit by another dog and I needed someone local to take a look asap. After arriving before their open hours, I tried to call as I could see lights on. After 15 mins after their actual opening time, they finally answered the phone. I told them the situation, I was told they weren't taking any new clients. I took my puppy to emerg in Langley. After that I knew I needed to find a different vet here in town. I read some reviews and talked to some neighbours. I decided to call Chilliwack Animal Hospital on Yale. VERY pleasant staff, and was able to see me right away. I have 2 more scheduled appointments and I am very happy so far. The only reason I'm writing this review is because of a call I got from the Sardis Animal Hospital just a few minutes ago. Same snarky girl on the phone, following up from the website form I had sent. And when I told her that is was me from the last week and that I had to take my puppy to langley that day and find a different vet here in chilliwack; her response was an indifferent "sounds good". Anyways, good luck running a business that deals with people with someone like that being the "voice" of your business.
I was on holidays when my dog all of a sudden couldn’t walk. He wasn’t eating, and had been throwing up. I took him to Sardis animal hospital carrying him to the front door. He weighs about 60lbs. I was turned away and was told they could not help me as the doctors were all busy. I was there with my two kids. I found this to be completely unprofessional and quite rude. My dog was in distress and they turned me away and told me to find another hospital. I won’t ever be recommending this place to anyone. Terrible service!!!
I like to keep my money in my community. In these trying times more than ever. I am totally disgusted with this vet charging outrageous gouging prices. I was quoted almost $500 to care for my 8week old male kitten. Just for giggles I called a vet in Abbotsford and the same package with microchip instead of tattoo will be $179.00 taxes included no brainer where baby will be going. Shocked and appalled. I gave one star. I take it back. Could not leave a review otherwise Shame shame on you ????
Good service
My female maltese x dog has been going to this vet for over 9 years and I have spent alot of money at their clinic. My dog had a severe alergic reation on November 11(holiday) and was treated at another vet as this vet clinic was not available (again). Called on monday November 15th to get her checked out as she still is not doing very well, diarrhea and vomiting. They told me they are "too" busy to take her and can not get her in until December 4th. I told them that my pet is just too sick to wait until that date. They told me that the vet is in surgery with another pet and they are booked solid. Again I told them my dog needed to be seen before that date as my dog is very sick. They still told me can not get her in until December 4th. I was shocked, devastated and heart broken, they just didn't care. They told me to take her to another vet?!
Excellent, caring veterinarians and staff.
My parents started taking our pets to Dr. Powell at Sardis Animal Hospital when we first moved to Chilliwack and I have continued to take my pets there as well. They are great, caring, and understanding.
The best pet care in town!! Staff are so friendly, accommodating and compassionate when needed. Their follow-up care is also incredible. Dr Rikka is an amazing vet who has been amazing with our 15 year old pup who is in palliative care.
Our pets always gets treated very good. I liked the fact that they always follow up when there is any concern.
Fantastic service
nice
Two of our pets passed away peacefully in the last 4 years from ripe old age. SAH doctors and staff were brilliant in their expert advice and compassion to help us through these difficult times. Now we're adopting a kitten and we look forward to introducing her to the staff who will help her along for the next 20 or so years.
Great staff and I feel some of the best care for my animals
Dr. Ricka is amazing!!
Very professional and caring with ur pet
Take great care of our fur babies
Compassionate, caring and great vets . Wouldnt take my pet anywhere else
Excellent staff to help us when we had to put down our dog.
Unbelievable staff. So caring and ACCOMMATING!! everyone we dealt with was super supportive
Excellent what a wonderful DR explained everything on the health of our chiachaha
We use this vet clinic for all our pets needs. We had a Great Dane with pericardial problems and they treated him and us with respect and compassion. He lived a comfortable, happy 3 years. Our two farm guardians are Great Pyrenees (who have never been inside a home or vet) refused to enter the building, so Dr Powell was happy to come outside examine and administer their shots! Dr Ricka (funny lady!) was so sweet and kind when our pug was at end of life. Not to mention she knows how to handle our English Bull Dog who has fear aggression. I recommend and encourage you to use them for all your beloved pets.
Provided carrying and thoughtful service when we had to say goodbye to Spencer our gentle giant.
