Took my 15 year old Golden Retriever to Prevost for his final shot under the recommendation of my normal vet who was unavailable. What a remarkable group of caring staff. Words can't express my gratitude for the kindness they showed me and Ripley that day. As a side note they were very reasonably priced and didn't leave my bank empty from the experience.

The vets and techs are always quick with answers to my many questions and filled with good advice. Booking is never too far out and prices seem very reasonable compared to other clinics. I have 2 cats I take here, and they have always been very gentle and loving with them, they also phone with results quite quickly. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they no longer have night time emergency care, which is bad if there is an emergency and one has no way to get to Nanaimo or Victoria. But othan that, this si a great place to take our other family memebrs, great work Prevost, keep it up! :-)

Generally my appointments with them have been great doctors are amazing staff are wonderful unfortunately lately even as a existing patient unable to get appointments tried to get my dog in for cancer surgery with them unfortunately wasn’t able to living in Lake Cowichan ended up having to go to Victoria for surgery and now that the surgery is done he requires 10 minutes once a week to have his bandages changed and not able to get in they’ve said no sorry if we had known well they did know because I tried to get the surgery there and it’s six weeks of bandage changing I mean once a week for six weeks we now have to go back to Victoria rather Then to his doctor For 10 minutes extremely disappointing???? They should be seeing their existing patients rather than booking appointments for non-existing patients when they’re so busy that they can’t see their pre-existing patients extremely sad

I recently moved to Duncan, and Prevost was recommended to me by another veterinary service in town- that to me spoke volumes, so I called!! I have a sick 6mnth old kitten who was not feeling well the past couple days; what a bummer for the holidays. I called and spoke with Lori in reception, she was delightful to speak with, she offered support and reassurance (a fellow lover of kittens), and was able to advise a cancelation appointment, as they were booked solid- and now I know why... My kitty was well cared for- Dr.Baines was an attentive listener to my concerns and observations, and was able to provide us with a comprehensive plan to get my kitty feeling well again- I am so grateful!! The service and compassion that was offered today has solidified my decision, I am enthusiasticly choosing Prevost as my new Veterinary clinic, where I know my kitties will receive excellent care!!! I can not even express our anger but at first I thought they were wonderful...until I lost my dog an they could not make him priority even when they had assumed he had a neurological problem and seeing how terribly critical he was they did not bother to call or direct us to waves or Nanaimo Emergency which were his best chances. Thank you WAVES for taking him so quick but I can not help but think.. those 2 days may have made all the difference if someone had just done the job rather than wait until mid day the next working day to check on him. Might I add no Emergency place had been notified like they assured us it would and had no Idea our family member Oliver was even in need of any care.

The Vet is good explains the issue that we went in for and dis a sample test and was all under 100 bucks . So I would say they are knowledgeable people for a decent price , still best to get pet insurance so there is no bad decisions on an owner of an animal . With insurance they direct bill the insurance portion and you pay your portion . I personally am looking into buying pet insurance as Prevost Vet recommends one , call them to find out more. All in all was a good experience and good people that work There! Thanks Prevost

I brought my 12 year old lab in today fully expecting to be told putting him down is the only realistic option. On the other hand, the cynical side of me was expecting a vet to give me the most expensive option to put off the inevitable. Being from out of town, I was pleasantly surprised with how good our visit was. We saw Dr. Katzman who was very understanding and gave us a very realistic breakdown of our dog's condition and his options. Rather than selling us on the most expensive option for treatment/medication (which he did inform us of as an option), he offered us a smaller dose to try on our old guy as a last ditch effort for us to see if he bounces back. While it feels a bit cold to discuss prices under the circumstances, it's something we must consider, especially with his age and condition. I found the price of the visit plus the weeks dosage of medication to be very reasonable and equally if not more important, Dr. Katzman left us feeling a little better about the situation with all our questions answered. We'll see what happens, but I want to thank Dr. Katzman and staff for making this terrible circumstance a little easier to deal with.

I’ve seen 3 doctors at this clinic and I must say Dr. Wang is my favorite. She was extremely empathetic to Bella’s anxiety and did anything possible to make her feel comfortable. She even gave her some treats and performed some of the exam on the floor. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The reason I give a 4 is because the office is poorly ran. There’s always a wait for anything and everything. And not like a couple minutes but 10’s of minutes. Even when everyone else has already left I still find myself waiting... They can get super busy at times. Their parking lot was full one time it was so busy! They’re good so I come here just be prepared to wait. I hope they can somehow make things more efficient for a better experience for the customer.

Horrible experience every time I go there. Today is the last time I will ever set foot in their clinic. Receptionists do not listen,the vets are very cold, and uncompassionate, and their fees are sky high. It's an argument everytime I am there. I highly, highly recommend finding a different vet. The last pet of ours that they had died in their care. I do not trust them, and would not want anyone else suffering at their hands.

Imagine it will still be the same as no one answers when you call there, have to leave a message. Assume this translates into the fact that they cant afford to hire more front counter staff to answer the phone. May need to try to find another vet, unfortunate.

My puppy was very unresponsive and could barely balance. We brought him to duncan animal hospital but the vet was in surgery and they didn't have any other vet there to serve others. We brought him to prevost and got seen very fast and got everything figured out. Everyone was very friendly and sympathetic. Would highly recommend!

I couldn't be more thankful for Dr Jiangi Wang! She was very informative and quick with my sick cat. In the end she had to be sent to a emergency hospital with staff there overnight. But I am thankful for all what she did. Great service during this difficult time! Definitely reccomend this place all the time!

I haven't had to take my dogs to the vet often but this is the vet clinic I would recommend to anyone. They are compassionate, understanding and very willing to work with owners to treat ailing dogs. When you come to them with your beloved pet they respect your choices and support your decisions. They are informed and educated and everyone has very good bedside manners. And when it comes to the financial part this vet clinic is extremely fair and doesn't gouge you. It's hard enough having to deal with the emotional stress when something is wrong with your pet and the last thing an owner needs is to be stresses out about costs. This clinic is very fair in pricing and I will continue to use this vet clinic in the future.

Absolutely amazing! The people that work here are the most down to earth, humane, caring and awesome people I've had the chance to meet! I looked all over the place for a decent vet clinic and the only one that has the exotic specialist I need is right here! They also have hearts instead of greedy wallets like so many other places we phoned when my fiancee had a very sick guinea pig. They saw him and helped us out straight away and did it better for cheaper! Quality and quantity are here! My little cousins bunny broke his foot and they saw him right away and splinted him up right there and gave him a bit of an anti-inflammatory out of the kindness of their hearts with no extra strings attached! We go here all the time! I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Please check this place before anywhere else.

Everytime I talk to anyone here or take my dogs here I'm always getting adittude. My smaller dog was given a number of different things I didn't ask for then an injection to make it so he can't puke it up never was told how long to watch him for. That same day was chargered for a bunch of things i never asked for. my 8 week old staffy puppy at the time was badly neglected on his nail trim . Afterwards brought him out yelling because apprently he was "bad". Which now he's 7 months and I just have been able to cut his nails with no fuss !! Then I called to inquire about getting him fixed and was treated the same way. I will not be going her for anything further and don't recommend this vet! as many of my friends will not take there animals here now eaither. I'm am very angered how a place like this can be so disrespectful .

While we were in the middle of asking them if they recommend anywhere else we were hung up on. Terrible customer service. I can't even believe these people help animals. Disgusting. Have been going to this vet for the better part of 15 years or more. Caring, compassionate, realistic pricing and excellent service. I recently had to say goodbye to a 14 year old fur baby and they were willing to come to my home and were beyond wonderful. This place is completely understaffed. Almost impossible to get through on the phone lines. Then when you get in you just pumped in and out. In twice for an infection in my dogs foot that they couldn’t find, took them to another vet today within five minutes we were out with meds. All they had to do was put the sample under the microscope But I don’t think they even swabbed his toe where we showed him it was infected

Over the years several of our pets and friends pets have gone here and been very happy but at this point I think I need to switch vets. For a start it's usually a 3 or more week wait for a simple appointment. When an emergency happens they simply do not help, putting you on hold for 30 minutes to check if the vet will help you animal that is very sick, only to say go to another vet. But what is making us switch vets is simple ability to get a prescription in a timely manner. Our dog is on a medication that she will be on for the rest of her life but they only prescribe 90 days at a time. They say that all we have to do is call in to get a renewal but good luck getting them to answer. They don't answer the phone, they don't reply to messages left and you usually have to go in to get the prescription renewed because they don't seem to keep records of your animals prescriptions even though they prescribed it 90 days previously.
