The doctor not very kindly
I've been using this Vet for the last 10 years and they have seen me through the best and worst that pet ownership can have. Very compassionate staff that understands the difficult times and even followed up with a call to make sure I was OK after I had to put a pet down. They are not pushy with tests or procedures as they will inform you and let you make the decision, giving advice when asked.
Wanted to pick up a supply of worming meds for my cat which I have already gotten here before. Called ahead and ended up waiting 30 minutes for them to tell me I could only get 1 month's supply because my cat was due for his annual check up... Good way for them to make 90$ I guess.
Have been taking my dog here for 5 years. Absolute great experience everytime and they let you book online as well! Highly recommended
My cat was so comfortable, she was making herself at home... bonded with Dr. Sara immediately. Massively impressed with the care given.
Always incredible service and they know my dogs by name
It’s the first time in 7 years and various vets that I finally feel like I am working with a vet that has my dogs and my best interest first and not just racking me up with expensive vet bills. Dr.Peter is amazing and so is the whole team there!
Great staff
Everybody there is so gentle and kind! Our dog doesn't mind going and is way less stressed because of them all!
Great caring professionals
Over the years we have had several critical surgeries performed here and the attention to detail in procedure and aftercare is unmatched. Dr. Veenis can work with the smallest of dogs in an emergency, and large ones too. We appreciate the front end staff, and the size of facility, the sum of the care offered is reassuring. We also buy food here, and the product is fresh and available on short notice.
My experience with Dr. Veenis and his staff was as close to perfect as I could ever have imagined it. He performed a TPLO on my dog after carefully considering all other options. He is a gifted, skillful surgeon and an impressive diagnostician. (There is an art and a science to medicine). His staff went out of their way to answer questions and include me in Berdie's care. I would give The Okanagan Veterinary 100 stars if I could! Please do not hesitate to use their services if you are looking for the best care possible for your pet.
Good service
My pet‘s vet always awesome. I like that hospital.
My little cat, Dot, suddenly stopped eating, and immediately I knew there was a problem. I took her to the Okanagan Veterinary Hospital because it was the one place that had received the most positive reviews -- and now I know why! I had two visits to this location within the weekend, and both times the staff were so friendly and helpful. Being a student, I was worried about the costs, but I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable everything was. On the second visit, we correctly identified the problem with my little one, and she was prescribed antibiotics for her throat infection, as well as given fluids and an appetite stimulant. She immediately started eating and drinking properly again, and now a week later, she has just finished her antibiotics and is completely back to being herself! I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone. Thank you so much for your care of my little baby! <3 Regards, Ashleigh + Dot ????
Great service very helpful staff
I do not recommend this vet to anyone. They care more about money than the safety of the animals.
Very nice but make sure your bill is discussed b4 hand
I have been using Marco (Dr. Veenis) and his staff for the care of my dogs for the past 5 years. He is one of the few veterinarians I will trust in caring for my English bulldogs. Marco provides my dogs with day-to-day medical care as needed along with performing any surgeries required. He has delivered all our English bulldog puppies by way of C-section deliveries with 100% success rate (not always any easy task in this breed). I'm confident in Marco's knowledge as a veterinarian and delighted at his talented surgical skills! Marco has always gone out of his way to provide excellent care for my dogs, and his staff are always friendly and helpful. If you need a veterinarian, I recommend you see Marco and his staff at Okanagan Veterinary Hospital!
Honest, friendly, knowledgeable and awesome with our pets.
Dr. Tera is great she takes the time to get to know our dog and make him feel comfortable before she does anything. I would recommend this veterinarian to anyone.
The customer service and care you receive at OK Vet is absolutely outstanding. They treat your pets like their own and make you feel welcome and comfortable for every appt. Highly recommend!
Dr. Tara is great. Always friendly staff.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean facility. They are always accommodating and and easy to reach
I recently visited Okanagan Veterinary Hospital with my 8 year old shih-tzu for a dental cleaning. Dr.Veenis was very informative and patient throughout our consultation. He explained the procedure from start to finish, and gave me thorough instructions on how to take care of him post op. The staff at the hospital are very friendly, professional, and are well educated in the products and services the hospital provides. The hospital interior is bright, modern, and welcoming. I love all the bright colors and friendly faces. Its also very clear that they did not spare any expense on equipment. They have the most up to date procedures and seem to keep their staff well trained on the latest technology and pet care available. I will be a loyal customer to Okanagan Veterinary Hospital for my pets I have now, and all future companions.
I have known Marco for years, I wouldn't trust just anyone to care for my "kids" other than his staff. I have the utmost admiration for him and his staff, they are the most compassionate and caring Veterinary Hospital, I have 4 cats, I also lost 2 one which was a kitten and the other was my very best friend of 22 years. Marco will tell you straight up what is wrong and what needs to be done to have the best result possible for both the owner and the animal itself. I can email, or call and I know that the answers I am getting are trustworthy and most of all reliable. Would I recommend him to anyone? You bet in an instant!! and I know from past experience that he ultimately cares about all of his patients. He adopted his very own pet, because the owners were going to abandon it because they couldn't afford it. Now that is a COMPASSIONATE Veterinarian.
One of the best Vets I have had in 5 years of owning a dog. Great Staff and prices are industry standard.
Quick service protecting health and wellness for animal and person
I get my dogs pet food here always.
Great place and incredible staff. Our Scotish Fold cat had been diagnosed with cancer at another veterinarian place and wanted to do extensive tests and treatment which would have costed many thousands of dollars just to start. So we thought we would go for a second opinion. Dr. Peter Woodward at Ok Vet Hospital said it is typical for this cat to get bone cancer in the jaw. He also said there was no was to stop it from spreading even if one spent a lot of money to remove that portion of the jaw. He said it may prolonged the spread but you would have to suringe feed the cat with no jaw. It would be a painful thing for our cat this procedure and accomplish nothing or very little. With Dr. Woodward's help we decided to let our cat take pain medication and medication to keep his temperature down if we felt it was needed. We did purchase special canned food to keep his weight up and give him good nutrition. We felt we would let the cat live its life in the time it had left in peace and relatively pain free. We thank the staff at Okanagan Veterinary Hospital for all their help without thinking we needed to spend money just to soak a customer on a time of distress and hardship thinking the cancer could be stopped. The only thing we have been doing differently for our Scotish Fold cat is every morning taking him outside to watch the birds in our yard and to chase butterflies. He is enjoying his life and we love each day that he we see Another One! ????????

We have been going to The Okanagan Vet Hospital for the last 15 years and we would not entrust our pets to anyone else. We have always been treated like their favourite clients though we know they make everyone feel that way. It is lovely to always be welcomed by name, and looked after as if our pets were their own. It is a large clinic and we do not always see the same doctor or assistants but we are always treated the same - like we matter and our pets' well being is always the most important thing. We have had consultations, minor treatments, major operations, ongoing dental and laser care, maintenance and nutritional advice, home delivery following surgery, continued after-care by phone and by email often after hours and on weekends, and we have come to know and love the doctors and staff like family. If anyone out there is searching for a the best vet clinic in the valley, look no further. We highly recommend The Okanagan Vet Hospital. Mike and Glenda Holmes
Very professional and knowledgeable
I bring my 2 cats here, they have been very caring and gentle to my pets.
Best clinic in Kelowna!! Our dogs even like to go there..lol Very personable and gentle with our animals.
Great place . Personable . They don t seem to be out to rip you off .
Friendly staff and caring veterinarian's
My rating was incorrect. This place is a 5 star my sincere apologies Staff and the doc absolutely amazing. Everything was explained with such detail so we knew exactly what to expect. I would recommend this clinic to anyone
Knowledgeable and caring.
It was a very difficult decision that I made to have my 17.5 year old dog put down. Dr Tara was absolutely amazing and she understood my pain completely. The other staff members were sympathetic towards me. A really heartfelt thank you to all of you. Jane Ford
Well organized and great veterinary care
Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and Dr. Tara blew us away with her empathy for and understanding of our dog's breed-specific traits. I regret that we didn't come here sooner, our good boy would have been much happier!
Very very nice staff so friendly and I would not trust my pets with anyone one else so easily. They treat them like it's their own and what should be done when they deal with your pet and you.
Great place. Great staff . Trust them with our furry family members 100%
Very happy with their services
Our Wheaten needed serious knee surgery. They were referred by our vets. They are the best around for orthopedic surgery.
I was so impressed by the service at Okanagan Veterinary Hospital that I felt compelled to write a review! The staff was welcoming, informative and patient. Dr. Marco Veenis was amazing! He explained everything thoroughly, made sure I knew all the options, and was extremely knowledgeable. You can tell is a genuine animal lover too! When I got sentimental over my cat Queso going in for surgery, he offered me a tour of the facility, showed me where my cat would sleep and introduced me to some of the nurses. They took such good care of my 1 1/2 year old Turkish Van. When I had to leave him overnight, I walked away teary-eyed and looked back one last time to see two nurses giving them all their love and affection. Their care didn't stop once I picked him him, they've called to follow up and and see how he's doing and are there if I have any more questions. Queso is on the mend, and if he ever gets hurt or sick again, I know where I'll be headed! Thank you Dr. Venus and OK Vet staff - I really appreciate you all :)
I have trusted the staff at Okanagan Veterinary Hospital for the last 11 years to provide the care needed for my dog. The front end staff are welcoming and helpful, the doctors are compassionate, knowledgeable and have always provided top notch care and advice. I recommend Okanagan Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for the best possible care for their furry family. You won't find a better group of people who care for your animals like they are their own.
Updated to include a response to OK Vet's reply below: We have repeatedly asked the Office Manager to escalate our concerns so we can talk to an owner or the vet themself who performed the procedures and were instead met with accusations that I was an online bully and my review was fraudulent and demands that I take it down. I can only assume either the Office Manager has not escalated the requests for a conversation or that the service we received is an accepted culture at the clinic. Either way, it's truly a shame and I hope the owner(s) so reflect on what has occurred and implement some policy changes as the Office Manager did admit this was their error. Original Review: Procedures performed we did not authorize. Staff blamed fitting us in last minute for the confusion but still required us to pay double the estimate. By far the worst vet experience I've had in Kelowna. Left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing.
The vet was nice but had some miss understanding with the bill.
Dr.mull is the very best, kind hearted Dr in town.
Excellent animal hospital!!
Love these guys - totally get pet owners - especially when things are difficult. Very kind. Very thorough! Finn says "Hi!" and "Thank you!"
My pet is always treated with exceptional care. Everyone is kind and helpful. I feel fees are far ????????
This clinic is awesome, I travel almost three hours to take my dog there. He has had a couple of procedures here and each time I’m very impressed. The staff are so friendly and caring (especially the girls on reception) and always make follow up calls to see how your pet is doing, would recommend this place every time!
Always the best!!
Excellent service and Dr Veenis a great professional!
Very knowledgeable, approachable, friendly staff. They have been absolutely amazing with our puppy.
As expensive as any other vet but Dr Woodward really seemed to do a thorough job and took the time to explain in great detail
The vet went into detail and showed that he was concerned about my dog
Thank you to Dr.Evy and to the rest of the team. My dog has only received fantastic service from this clinic over the last 2 years. When my 19 year old dog child had to be put to sleep everyone was extremely kind, considerate and accommodating. There is a genuine care and love for animals which is obviously felt by the pets and their owners. “Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault.”
Love it! Ive had a few bad experiences with vets and i have no problem recommending this animal hospital.
Great staff and friendly knowledgeable vets. A little pricey but we were seeing a specialist.
Good, supportive, and friendly staff.
I need to add our highest praise for the kindness we received from this clinic when we had to put our wonderful sheltie to sleep. Even the staff loved her and we appreciated the excellent care we received for the previous 2 years as well. Their care extended to the point of sending a sympathy card and a sweet paper foot print of Julie for us to keep. When we are ready to have another dog we will be thrilled to work with the vets and staff here again. 5 thumbs up!
Excellent service. Kind and caring staff.
If there ever is a veterinary hospital that rivals the tender stories from the pen of 'James Herriot', it will be the Okanagan Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Veenis and his staff are highly skilled, caring and sensitive. In my 50 plus years of dealing with the ailments of our beloved pet family, I have never found a hospital better than Okanagan Veterinary Hospital. Thank you all! Marika
Well 250.00 for my dogs ears to be cleaned..was told on the phone about 100.00 to 130.00.This was not right and would be very causious and question your bill from them...not a very happy customer!
Very accomadating and knowledgeable! Grateful for all their help!!
Too expecieve
My Lhasa Apso passed away 2 months ago today. I never had a brother. My dog was much better, albeit a bit shorter. OK Vet Clinic was always there for us. The care they provided to my "little brother" was amazing. No, the word is insufficient to describe how great this clinic is. If it takes a "village to look after a child" this clinic is a "city". It's filled with compassionate experts and accommodating personnel. My dog and I were lucky to have them help us this past 6 years. Sure, the vets are first class, but credit also needs to go to all their assistants, the reception and all of the helpers. My bro endured a lot for awhile but I know the care he received lightened his load. I don't know how the two of us would have made it through that without the Okanagan Veterinary Hospital. Thank you to all the staff! W&R
My dog needed a TPLO and they were very informative, supportive, and professional. Definitely recommend their services.
Only place to go
Friendly helpful and reasonable
Love the clinic and staff.
Always great and willing to take on a last minute no appointment case!
Have been going there for years with cats, dogs and ferrets. Excellent veterinary care, polite and true fit front line staff. Pricing average for Kelowna.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mul and the staff of Okanagan Veterinary Hospital. The care and compassion they give my pets is hands down the best I've ever seen.
Caring and honest people!
Have been going here for years and they always do a good job with my pets. They are sincere and empathetic when dealing with your pets needs and with a person's emotional needs.
Great service
All of the staff and doctors are wonderful people and treat our dogs very well .. the only complaint i have is that when we call to order a refill for our cancer dogs prescription to be sent over to our pharmacist we ALWAYS have a problem ..it takes them forever, sometimes days, they say it will be sent by the end of the day but 9times out of 10 it is not. I end up standing in the pharmacy the next day waiting! And have to call them to get it done, i usually give them up to 2 days in advance for them to get it done because i know this happens and i always have to call and bug the receptionists..or my husband gets on the phone witch i know they don’t like ....my French bulldog has been on these meds for almost 7 years and she’s still going strong ..i would hate for something to happen to her because they can’t take 5 mins at the end of their shift to fax over a piece of paper...
Amazing vet.. staff are friendly and personable. Super knowledgeable.. Linda at the front desk always remembers your name and is a true animal lover.. our dogs get so excited to see her when u mention her name..
Very personalabe
Great service and short waiting time for booking appointments
Great service for an unfortunate event, in and out same day for a couple o stitches and shots. Process and prices were described and covered before my pooch was treated and they thoroughly described aftercare. Friendly and gentle staff.
Everyone is very professional and helpful
Thank you to all the amazing hearts that work at this clinic. Grateful we found you. Our family experienced a great loss and I have no words for how caring and respectful everyone was there . Thank you for everything you do. Our community is so lucky to have you!
insinely good
Would never take my dog there again after seeing them advertise for rib fest. It’s ironic how a vet would advertise this. After seeing the backlash they continue to support it still? Just horrible people, wow.
Did a very good operation on my sons dog and were very caring
Only vet I will bring my animals too
All the staff are not only incredibly friendly but also knowledgeable in the veterinary field. They always ensure our pup gets taken care of and that he is well looked after.
They really love their animals! As easy experience as taking your pet to a vet can be.
Expensive. However they are thorough, professional and experienced. Staff is friendly.
Very knowledgeable and inspired confidence. Good covid regulations in place. First visit, but impressed so far.
Dr. Marco Veenis and his staff are true to their word, they do treat our pets like their own! In particular, we appreciate the way Dr. Veenis willingly answers all of our many questions - with patience and enthusiasm. His approach is methodical and he explains pet health issues thoroughly and then provides a number of possible options for consideration. In fact, all of the staff at Okanagan Veterinary Hospital [OVH] are very knowledgeable, have always been pleasant/helpful and shown us great care and compassion when our pets have been ill, injured or on those occassions when we it was time to say goodbye to a family pet member. We have every confidence in the healthcare provided by this veterinary team.
For 8 months I watched my dog Kona’s limp get progressively worse. After numerous visits to my local vet I was referred to Dr. Veenis at the Okanagan Vet Hospital. Within 15 minutes of him meeting with Kona, he was certain she had a torn cruciate ligament and insisted that a MRI was not necessary to confirm this. He walked me through the TTA procedure required in detail. Less than two weeks later Kona was in for surgery! I had many concerns about Kona’s sensitive stomach and extremely high strung behavior. Dr. Veenis addressed all of these issues and Kona’s transition to recovery was smooth. The Okanagan Vet Hospital staff has was extremely informative and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Veenis and his wonderful staff.
Excellent service.. super nice staff
Very unimpressed. My dog went in for a neuter, good surgery. But he reacted to the medication, which they sent home without the information packet and no info. I took him in as soon as I saw something was seriously wrong (no drinking at all for 12 hours, no interest in food, strange behaviour). I requested a full blood panel and let the vet know he was reacting to the medication. She was only interested in his surgical wound and dismissive of any medication reaction. I had looked up the medication information and he was showing all signs of a serious reaction, less diarrhea and vomiting. This medication can cause stomach ulcers which lead to bigger issues such as renal failure. I was phoned with blood results that all was well, and told to continue with meds. I ignored this, happily, and by 2 am the next day my dog was passing blood clots. I returned, and seemed to have to educate the next vet about adverse medication reactions. She prescribed antibiotics, great for infection with ulcer, but nothing else. I got a second opinion who was floored they hadn't done anything for the ulcer itself. My dog dropped almost 10% of his body weight in 5 days and was passing fair sized blood clots. These are uninformed vets who don't understand medication and it's side effects, in my opinion.
Very efficient and knowledgeable place to take your pets for care
Good place warm staff
They took us in as an emergency appointment. They took excellent care of my cat! Super friendly and caring! I will never take my cat anywhere else!
Our pets have gotten great treatment here, we're glad to have such a caring and knowledgeable vet in town.
Been going here for years for cars & dogs and also have the best service and vets!!
Have been there for 14 years. Great people for our dogs
Friendly staff and have kept my pets in good health for 13+ years. Highly recommend them. Extremely talented veterinarians and specialists. Highly recommend this vet
Amazing surgeon and staff
