REVIEWS OF Alouette Animal Hospital IN British Columbia

Ashley holt

Very quick and easy to get into for appointments, they took great care of my rabbit, the vet spoke with me in depth and gave me lots of information, was not rushed at all. Highly recommend.

Hailey Homen

Honestly Allouette Animal Hospital is unprofessional, unorganized and truly money suckers. Family friends of mine and myself have had bad experiences with communication throughout this office and bad attitudes. I only went there because it was an unexpected emergency (not my usual vet) and they offered to look at my dog for free.. we get to the counter to pay and they asked for $90 out of my pocket.. I'm 17?!? I will never recommend this animal hospital.

Jenna Cunningham

All of the staff have been amazing and helpful. Our dog has seemed to have many minor health issues, and they have always taken great care of him and his health, answered any of my questions and taken into consideration any of my thoughts/concerns. I would definitely recommend this vet clinic.

These guys are awesome! If you have a small pocket pet I highly recommend them. Fairley priced and very caring group. We live in Coquitlam and its worth the drive.

Came here for years with multiple pets but the new vet lacks knowledge and prescribes meds without even knowing exactly what's wrong with our dog and also did the same with our cat.

Dean Maier

Absolutely outstanding customer service. Staff were exceptionally friendly and attendant to my pup. Open late and very hospitable. Would recommend to anyone.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this animal hospital. Knowledgeable and reliable.

Sheri Hutchings

Disappointed that you won’t sell me dog flea and tick medicine without coming in for a “check up”. Definitely just trying to get extra money from me. I can buy the exact tick medicine at pet stores.

Gave my pet the wrong prescription causing her to vomit everywhere and then told me to come back and charged me for a shot to fix their mistake. They also completely misdiagnosed my pet's health issue. Thankfully another veterinary in town caught it in time.

Large facility with much better capacity than other vets, however like all vets, service is quite expensive (ie. $130 for a 5 min visit)

As other reviews have stated. Stay away from dr Dhaliwal !! He absolutley butchered my dogs ear during a aural hematoma surgery, and caused months of pain and discomfort. The procedure was not done properly, he even admitted he may have cut an arterey during the surgery. Causing it fill up with blood again. Which it did immediately after surgery . We had to go in several times for them to re cut the incision, drain it etc. This went on for several months. He seemed quite pissed off the whole time dealing with him. Slamming doors as he took my dog into the back. Telling me she must have hit it in on something again. Guy is an absolute joke and has no business in being a vet. The surgery needed to be re done, they had the odasity to try to bill me for every visit after their mess up! Finally after getting a competent DR to do the surgery it was finally able to heal . They also wanted to bill me for them to have this surgery re done. Also after getting a second opinion, the pain medication he gave us can give senior dogs liver problems. How this place can justify their outrages prices for such horrible care is beyond me. Double the price of other places in the area. The only good thing about this place are the receptionists who actually do care.

My previous 5 stars is now 2. It would be 1 but the front desk staff warrant an extra star. Alouette was great when I first started going there but I've had too many bad experiences of late including one vet removing the wrong cyst! He didn't touch the inflamed, oozing one he examined and drained the week prior so my poor dog suffered more than he needed to by having two surgeries in the same day - that was in 2020! The cyst he removed was not inflamed. I get that my dog has many lumps and bumps, but the one that was swollen and bloody that he drained the week prior was pretty obvious if he were to have just asked me or looked at him thoroughly. Following that, it was hard to get the same vet, then when I thought that was settled, I never got "clear" test results from that vet and was referred out to a specialist, who also couldn't provide a clear answer. It's maybe this, but we need to run more tests and each test seemed to come back inconclusive with the vet hinting that it could be something very serious and I should opt to have surgery. After paying roughly $1,500 and having no definitive answers I pulled the plug on their recommended $1,600 surgery for my senior dog who another vet at the same clinic said would likely not survive such an invasive surgery. The staff are very friendly and one nice lady made a vet see my very injured cat (even though I ended up in emergency after) but having a great front desk doesn't make up for never being able to get an appointment or a vet when I need one. I ended up going to another local vet when my dog was in urgent need instead of going to emergency - how Alouette recommended I do - and this vet made room for my dog, treated his bad leg infection and told me to come back in 2 days for check up - no appointment necessary, they will see me. If I had any confidence of the emergency vet in Langley, I would take my pet there, but I don't and I also don't want to wait in the parking lot for 5 hours with my distressed pet and be charged double or triple the standard vet rates. If Alouette can only accommodate my vaccine appointments, I see no reason to stay as a client. I'm tired of being told to go to emergency because they don't leave enough room for the unexpected. That's just poor planning and it has happened too many times. I don't want to be referred to the emergency vet who wants $150 just to reserve the appointment. Not for the exam/consult, just to reserve the appointment because it's an emergency fee. It's predatory. Seeing someone who is searching for help for their pet and these vets smile with what I imagine are vampire-like fangs because they know most people will pay whatever it takes to make their pets better. It's time to transfer my pet care elsewhere.

My husband and I had a horrible experience when we brought our kitten in for a check up and her shots. The first time we took her in it was okay, but our second experience was not. At our second visit, we got a different vet, and before she even looked at our little 5 lb kitten she called in her assistant and told her to bring the 'cat gloves'. These gloves were basically leather work gloves.. and her and this assistant pushed our kitty into the table to pin her down and give her the shots. My cat was crying, screaming, and trying to break free. Understandable! I asked if that was necessary, and got told that they know what they're doing. After the shots my husband and I were told that our kitten was "going to be a problem" and that they had never seen a cat so bad. I understand shots can be hard for a kitten, and they usually squirm, but the excessive force they used was not needed. I left there in tears, and I will NEVER take my baby back.

Beautiful healing process in your lives

Nice, welcoming place to come with your pet. We have (had) 3 cats and most of the time it was very good, positive experience. Except one time when a doctor incorrectly inserted thermometer into our cat's rectum and after that she had pain for several days. I would recommend this animal hospital - I think we could trust doctors' knowledge and skills there. And staff was very nice.

Anastasiia Muzyka

Taken advantage of you. Not even closely enough prescribe what was wrong with my dog. But surely were ready to do care ray and blood test without advising the price of this service. My dog just caught a cold but this hospital took advantage of me being worry about my dog. Never ever going there. Just trying to increase the profit but clearly don't care about your pet. Assistance over the phone were real nice but it is a trap. Don't go there. And certainly don't agree on any services like x ray and blood test if you think its not accurate.

The best animal hospital I've ever taken my dogs to! They're so loved and cared for, treated like little celebrities when they walk in. They take photos of the dogs, write down the pronunciation of each animals name, and does everything they can do to take care of your animal. Really the sweetest place

Scooter is a scaredy cat when it comes to the vet. They handled him well, didn't try to upsell me anything, and were quick and efficient. It would be great if they could call ahead of time if they're running behind, but I get it. Still very satisfied.

Odins Beard44

Miss diagnosed my dog and almost gave him liver failure with wrong meds. They just want your money and don't actually care for the well being of your pet

Cassi Q

I have worked with Alouette in a professional manner and they have always gone above and beyond for our cause caring for hundreds of dogs over the years. Most recently it was personal when my beloved dog was diagnosed with Cancer. There are no words to adequately describe the love and care that was not only given to my dog during that heartbreaking 3weeks - but myself too. Twyla, Shannon, Alena and Dr. Wong truly went above and beyond when it came to appointments, questions, phone calls and more. When it came time to say good-bye they cried with me and made sure that I was ready - as it was time to let her go. I don't think you can ever consider euthanizing your dog as a good experience but I can say with certainty my girl left this world surrounded in love and feeling no pain and for that I am incredibly grateful. Im so appreciative to have had those wonderful ladies and all of the staff at Alouette there to lean on during such an overwhelming time. Thank you <3

This vet was really great at first, but I came to the hospital to get my cat spade and weeks after her appointment she is still in pain. Alouette is not very credible or reliable, they're putting other living beings lives at risk with sloppy procedures and mediocre customer service.

They have been our vet for 15 yrs especially Dr Orser and just recently been with us as we said good bye to one member of our family. I appreciate that it wasn't done in the regular treatment room like I was expecting but in a warm living room setting where we could stay until we were ready to leave him. They were very compassionate while our hearts were breaking.

They have cared for our cats for 20 years. They do good work, lots of concern and caring. Would recommend.

LIFE SAVERS ! I found a tick on my dog “Sasha” and I got really nervous because she has never had one before and I didn’t know what to do . So I called and asked how much it would be and when could I be able to book an appointment . Megan told me I could come in in the next 15 minutes and it was FREE. They were kind and sweet and fast. Very much appreciated . Thank you ! SAMIRA

The best animal hospital in Maple Ridge! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and at one point or another they have all had treatment at Alouette Animal hospital. Dr. Orser is so caring and takes the time to explain and answer any questions or concerns. When our elderly dog needed to be put down a vet from Alouette came to our house so that our dog's would not have to go through the trauma of going to the vet one last time. This might not be the cheapest place out there, but you get what you pay for. If you want your pet taken care of properly, go to this place!

Alisha Mulholland

Went at the beginning of April for my dog who had a swollen eye and super irritated ears. The vet at Alouette hardly looked at him and said he was completely fine, nothing wrong even after asking to double check. I went to my new vet and found he had horrible ear infections and an infected eye. I just rescued him so I am so disappointed in the fact they treated him so poorly by not looking over him properly when I asked specific things and charging me $80 for absolutely no effort or care in my animal. I wouldn’t waste my time going here again at all ever again.

My family has taken our pets to get check ups and surgeries. They have a great staff that help us right from registering to picking up our animal. No that I am on own and I have a dog. I bring him to Alouette Vet Clinic. My dog is actually excited to go see his vet.

Shaun Benzies

About 4 years ago my black cat chased another cat across a street and got hit by a car. His rear leg was shattered and exposed. A couple other emergency vets claimed that the only solution was to amputate his leg. I took him to Alouette where he’d been treated since he was a kitten. The surgeon said he wanted to try to save his leg and re-create his knee with hardware. I trusted his expertise and let him perform magic. Today my cat is exclusively an indoor cat, but he walks and jumps on four legs and doesn’t have any pain. It is remarkable to see him enjoy every new day and I am eternally grateful to all the kind and generous staff at Alouette for being there for both of us these past 8 years! Everyone I have ever interacted with there is amazing and makes me leave happier than I came in.

Very friendly service, the older more experienced doctors are amazing! Very good and spot on with their diagnosis and treatments, communicate well and give you all the options. Clean and well managed. Relatively easy to get a quick appointment without a long wait. They are one of the higher priced vet clinics in the area but worth it if you are dealing with the tenured docs. Some of the younger docs are very friendly but unsure and aren't always able to provide explanations or definitive treatments

Ashley paine

Great staff welcoming atmosphere, very caring, when it comes time to say goodbye to your beloved furry family members

Amy Levere

These people are a joke! They have no real care or concern for your animals, the only thing they care about is the money. The manager would rather send your animal away to die than work out a payment plan with you. The girls at the desk on the other hand are very helpful and polite. Don't even try to talk to the manager or the vet dr for that matter. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone and dont suggest them to anyone without a hearty bank account.

Kirsten Nimmo

Dr. Hasiri was wonderful. Even though I didn’t get to physically meet him, he called several times throughout my cats first appointment (really appreciates this as I was super nervous leaving her somewhere with which she was unfamiliar - very nervous cat!) and found him east to communicate with. He answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. I also liked that he checked with me before doing anything. His explanations were very detailed and gave me lots of good information about how to better care for my cat and her ear problems as well as things I could look out for. Would highly recommend him. :)

Amazing office! I’m VERY protective of my babies and Dr Jason Dhaliwal is absolutely phenomenal with them. He’s always super gentle and comforting for them. He’s also awesome with me and is straight with me while also talking to me like I’m human. GP’s rarely even do that with their patients. The techs/assistants are also superb. They’re always happy to see my little girl and you can tell how much care they all put into their work. (I may also be slightly bribed by the fresh cookies they lay out but that’s another story). 10/10 do recommend. I will travel across the city to make sure I stay with Allouette.

I can't say enough about my experience there. From the front end staff to the doctors and the environment itself. I am not a wealthy person and they went out of their way to help me get what I needed with no up selling me on things that were unnecessary. It was clean and welcoming and already received a thank you card in the mail less than a week later. Awesome job!!!!!

I love this place. I had an emergency with my pug in the early days of COVID. My vet at that time was closed. Alouette was open with established protocols that made it possible for them to see my dog right away. They were friendly, the doctor was thorough, she had xrays, meds, he phoned that night to check in and again the next day. Her issues are age related, we didn't know them before, and now we know and we know how to manage.

Dr Orser is very experienced and knowledgeable vet. The center has generous business hours but is not 24x7. It's a teaching facility so you sometimes get a student who is not as good. Dispensing fees are reasonable for a vet's office and there is a reserved parking lot with a charger for electric cars. Coffee and gooies are offered in the waiting room.

Finally found a place we can trust with our Persian Cat Oscar. Everyone is always so helpful and Twyla has gone above and beyond in every way, every time we bring Oscar in. She takes her time to explain everything so that we understand. We are in overwhelmingly grateful to have found her.

I've went here for the first time a while back, and being a senior I expected a discount for my age, but unfortunately I've been let down with their unpleasant refusal to cooperate with me about getting a lower price on what was needed for my cat. My cat is now a stage three diabetic and has been having kidney & heart problems since the age of six. Now that they're ten years old I've been to countless of doctors and never ever did I get a proper treatment for my old man. I am eighty one years myself and am getting tired of being constantly let down from many vets over in the lower mainland. This place was especially rude, they told me that they cannot assist my cat with any sort of medical attention since he is practically dead and unable to function. He wears diapers. And the supervisor there downright told me that she is not willing to look into his medical issues because I do not have a valid account with them. Unprofessional. I do not want to be registered because personal information is unsafe to give out. I am very upset and disappointed. Never go to this place. Take my word.

Mark Wolfert

Always nice and take awesome care of my little guy

I would not recommend Alouette Animal Hospital to a friend. I had two bad experiences at this location with my cat, the latter of which has left both my cat and I excessively stressed. The first time I came here to get my cat's nails trimmed they mixed him up with another cat and gave him a number of shots and unnecessary examinations. Fortunately, they didn't mix him up with a cat that needed medication. The second time around, we came in for a vet consultation because my cat's nails grew too long and he scratched himself in the eye. They prescribed drops to make the eye better, but said he needs to take sedatives before coming in for the nail trim, and booked an appointment. Our cat got better and we made it clear SEVERAL times, that we don't want any other services to be performed at this next appointment other than a nail trip. My poor kitty, sedated this time and excessively stressed, is kept in the room for a long time, and finally they come out and say they didn't perform the nail trim, the service that I ordered, and that we have to pay for the appointment. When it was made clear to us earlier that we don't have to pay for any appointment! Furthermore, very rudely they force upon us another appointment which we don't want anymore. Saying we have to sedate him and bring him in another day, which makes no sense because this was already done and the service wasn't performed. They didn't let us talk to the manager and when I mentioned that I will pay after I speak with the manager later on the phone, they LATER made up that they "checked his heart", so we have to pay for that. I never had these kind of problems with my previous vet and they never tried to make up services so we would make more appointments and they can get paid. I am stressed. My cat is stressed, and the poor thing has to go through the sedation process again now in another clinic so he can finally get his nail trim, something we do often and once again never had such issues before.

Took my friends great dane to get his teeth cleaned because he's a tad on the aggressive side with other dogs but a little more controllable with me. She didn't feel confident doing it so I volunteered. The staff were super friendly, the receptionist made sure no other dogs were in the reception area and got us into an exam room right away. The office manager (Twyla) was super nice, took her time with the dog In a manner that really helped calm him before going into his kennel. She went the extra step to calm and reassure me (not that I needed it) non the less I thought it was a kind gesture. One of the staff was a big fan of the dog and took him for a walk and seemed to really care. Over all a great experience.

Doris Zhao

Just does regular check up and third vaccine for my puppy. The front staff are nice and helpful. However, the vet (the old guy around 70s maybe. I didn't find his name on the hospital website) I've dealt with is awful. Hopefully he knows how to talk to people with respect instead of selling stuff. And know how to make himself clear instead of asking me which language I speak. Sorry I speak freaking English, but you gotta make yourself clear what are you pointing to. Not sure if my puppy gets unnecessary shots, we will see another vet next week. First time also the last time.

I have been taking all my pets here for 7 years. They have looked after my cats, dog and small critters with exceptional care and quality. While slightly moderate in price the value from the care and the atmosphere is well worth it. Lots of knowledgable and talented people on staff. Never any doubt to qualifications of staff. No cause for any concerns. I highly recommend them. Eve. Though I now live in Surrey I will still make the trip for my pets.

I was very distraught when I had to put down my Boogoos. He was such a great companion. I had him 16 years. I wanted to die as well. But since then I have another baby cat 2 months old Brady. I love him to death and he loves me. Life has turned back to normal, but will always remember Boogoos.

The young lady veterinarian that saw my cat was extremely thorough and compassionate. She did a fantastic job of making sure I understood what she was doing n why. Took my dog there to get neutered, because the place we adopted him from recommended them. The entire time we were there, they didn't ask at all about his puppy teeth, and they told us he had fleas, despite the fact that the other vets we've been to tell us he doesn't. We can't see any fleas on him, and since he's started his treatment his skin condition hasn't improved. The vets here didn't use dissolvable stitches, and when they brought him out he didn't have a cone on. They gave us a cone when we asked, but I was under the impression that after any major surgery a cone was part and parcel. Furthermore, after all this was said and done, they made us wait an hour to pay, which is fine, but after several red flags and a day at work, we were less than pleased. With regard to the flea treatment, I am fine with covering all the bases, and the process of elimination, but I would be far happier if they had been honest with us on that front, as opposed to simply saying "he has fleas." All in all, the service was relatively friendly, but due to the general feeling of unease I felt and the aforementioned issues, we will not be returning. We shall continue to take our dog to our usual vet in Mission, whom we've never had an issue with. All in all, a very sour experience.

Becky Harrison (himni)

I have been taking my pets to this clinic for well over 25 yrs. Nothing but the best! Even when I didn't have the funds they were there to help make a plan. Never but the best experience from the day I got my pets until their final end.

The staff were super friendly on the phone when I called with a somewhat emergent visit with our senior Malti-poo. Then when we arrived, both the assistant and the vet were amazing. Our dog wasn't shaking like he sometimes does, which meant he felt okay. They made sure we were well informed of this injury and took the time to ask us about his previous health conditions, since this was the first time they saw him. My dog was bleeding quite badly from a dog fight. They only had two doctors in when I called (3 pm on a Monday), and they weren't able to see my dog for an hour and a half. I understand at this time of year people are on holidays but I wasn't impressed with the lack of urgency with my situation so I went to a different vet where my dog was made first priority.

My cat was brought into the clinic initially on August 21st. She was put on Antibiotics and had a small incision and the lump drained. on August my cat returned to the clinic as the lump came back immediately after it was drained. My partner signed a form for them to "hospitalize her and to repair the wound". When handed the form was told "this is so we can keep her for the day". I was expecting that same procedure to take place that had taken place two days previously. However, no. I received a phone call stating that my cat was resting comfortably, to which I replied "what", then was told "the procedure went well and she is waking up" I again asked what they were talking about. At no time was I told that they were going to perform surgery on her, let alone consulted. The form signed gave them carte blanche to perform the surgery. The vague statement "hospitalization and repair the wound" provided them with the authorization to perform surgery. I will not be bringing any of my 3 fur babies back there. This was a cash grab. I can no longer trust this clinic. I found out that all that was needed was the antibiotics, which was what she was put on initially. She did not need the lump to be drained initially, as that is what caused it to come back the second time. The antibiotics would have cleared it up. So a $100.00 bill instead of $500 bill in the end. Not impressed. This was a cash grab.

I have been going to this practice for twenty five years and the whole customer service has gone down hill. No return calls and no answered phones. The staff are seeing all animals as Cows...CASH Cow!!! no interest in the animal whatsoever. Is this decline maybe due to the fact that Mike Order retired???

A Wal (Awal)

Unprofessional, charged a $250 emergency intake fee at 6:30pm although they were open until 8. Tried to take a urine sample via syringe from my cat that had an infected uterus. Instead of getting to the blatter the tech actually punctured the uterus allowing the infected fluid to saturate all of her organs. Worst part is they ALL tried to hide and deny it. It also went from a slightly complicated spaying (clamp off the uterus and remove it carefully) to a $6000 estimated procedure, still denying they performed malpractice upon my beautiful cat. It was obvious to anyone with minor 1st aid experience and the ability to read body language that the tech knew she screwed up. The syringe was full of puss not urine, and all of a sudden they went into fear mongering urgent surgery mode. When I told them I was going to take my cat to a different vet the owner made numerous racist remarks about the East Indian vet we happened to choose, who did a wonderful job and was more compassionate than any other vet I've ever dealt with, regardless of race. We then proceeded to try and get the records from Alouette to the new vet, 10 calls later and 3 in person visits we finally got a hand written (in pencil) statement that said nothing about what they actually did, or what I witnessed. It was pathetic, stressful, and I think they would have just preferred me to have my cat euthanized to cover up their incompetence, hence the $6000+ surgery estimate they kept bringing up. Luckily the other vet was superb, yet it took 10 1000cc saline solution bags to rinse all of the infectious fluid off and out of her abdominal cavity, just to give you folks a small idea of the damage that was done. She also has a permanent scar and scar tissue almost the length of her entire chest to tail. This place may have lots of fancy equipment and is the biggest clinic in the ridge-meadows area but the owner is the epitome of a horrible human being who cares for nothing but your money. This clinics record of animals dieing under anesthesia for simple procedures is long, and the BC association of Vets has the records to prove it. If you love your animals, think very hard before bringing them to this clinic. It may look good from far, but it's far from good. This happened approximately 6 years ago and I'm sure that Dr. Orser will have some great excuse, or say that he needs a case number to verify the above information. Believe me, we spent almost three years dealing with this and the denial was as strong as the day the malpractice was performed until the very end. Just use your common sense and judgement when reading this review. I have no financial interest in any vet clinics, just the emotional and physical scars that this whole experience left upon me and my beloved cat.

Recomend to anyone... bery helpful caring staff.

I have mixed feeling about this clinic, while I like the front end staff and the clinic itself I'm not overly pleased with the continuous revolving door of vets. I've been taking my cats here for almost 4 years and only once seen the same vet twice. I feel like there is no connection to animal, and so when I'm in for a recurring problem its starting from square one. Also at other vets I've used the doctor evaluates the problem and says "I think its this, lets test for it" and results come back yes or no, if no we look at another test. Here I feel every time I'm told it may be A B or C. They think its B but suggest we test for all 3. And I'll ask can you just try one and see but there's always a reason to do all three "just to be safe" or "the tests need to be done in a certain order but if one shows positive we can stop". I love my cats so I end up saying yes but feel I'm being talked into 2 extra test I don't need so my bill goes from what could have been $150.00 to $220.00. I understand there's a bit of up-selling vets and if i was coming in for issues that were stumping the vets and the tests ALL needed to be done to rule out a number of issues sure, but every time they're pretty sure its one thing and recommend I test for all 3. Am seriously considering trying somewhere new and seeing how I feel after that.

I have always received fantastic service from this clinic. I have nothing but good things to say about them. And today was no exception. We had our special needs, senior dog put to sleep tonight and the service was just so good I felt like I needed to share my experience. Every aspect of the appointment was exceptional. The special room for euthanasia is amazing, the front office staff was professional, kind and compassionate, the vet and her technician were skilled and supportive. Everything went smoothly, it was such a smooth process, my old boy, who normally freaks out when handled by anyone strange to him, was so calm. I just have so much gratitude for everyone at Aloutte Animal Hospital. You are one of the very best in your industry. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for everything.

I love Alouette Animal Hospital. I wish I had discovered them years ago rather than going from one bad vet to another. I didn't believe there were any good vets out there until I took my dog here. The best care for my dog, not trying to rip anyone off by performing needless procedures. The vet assistants and techs are just wonderful too. I trust Dr. Orser completely, the best vet out there in my opinion.

Lulalyn Russell

I can't say enough good things about this animal hospital, they care & do everything they can to help with the problem. Also have a nice quiet room, if you should have to say ????goodbye to your furbaby, they give you time... No rushing☺

My only time going there over the 2017 Christmas season as my regular vet was closed. My dog tore a nail away from the quick and it was just hanging there still attached. The vet showed a considerable lack of knowledge on how to deal with this and ended up clipping half the nail off without any anesthesia and told us to come back in a week. Not a great bedside manner or overall experience. We went back to our vet and they sedated her and removed the shattered nail from the nail bed. Bottom line, our pet needlessly suffered for a whole week.

My 4 year old Missy (pitbull) was not acting herself for a couple days and took her into Alouette Animal Hospital; the doctor saw her right away and said that she is in need for emergency surgery to get her uterus taken out as she was not spayed. They got her in for surgery at 1:30pm, and she is on the mend. The staff and doctor were amazing! I am a new dog owner and didn't know this could happen to unspayed dogs. The staff calmed me down while I was having a bit of a meltdown, and I had a lovely room to wait for the surgery to end. My pup is doing well and loving being pampered. Thank you very much to the staff and doctor at Alouette Animal Hospital for your kindness and wisdom. Emi

I'm not sure about vet care but.....prices are way higher than any other vet. Called around to get my cats nails trimmed and this was the only place that charges over $30+ when every other place charges $20. Also their advantage is overpriced as well. Will go elsewhere to purchase items.

During a foster to adopt on a dog for us, we had some concerns with the poor pooch. Scheduled an appointment to bring her in and get an opinion on the health of the pup. While in the truck in the parking lot in line to go in next during the pandemic, he spoke to us on the phone and got the basic details of our concerns, and the background of the rescue organization and lack of health history on the dog and our skepticism on the whole situation. The doctor gave us a few minutes to talk privately over what exams would be recommended for getting a clean bill of health on this dog and have us call back when we were ready. My wife and I talked in the truck and we called back a short period after, and while we were talking, the doctor researched the said rescue to help understand where the dog has been. His research had found that the rescue had a sort of history in bringing in sick dogs from foreign countries without disclosing that information.... This doctor took the time to dig in to our concerns, instead of cracking jokes with the employees while my wife and I talked about our options, or making a fresh coffee in the back, he spent that time trying to help us even further. Not to mention, afterward we offered to pay for just the time he spent on the phone and waiting for us to talk it out, and he declined our offer to pay.

DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! They misdiagnosed my dog and he would have died if I didn’t rush him into emergency. When complaining to the manager Twyla, she called me a liar. Don’t take your pet here unless you enjoy lack of compassion and communication.

Very disappointed. We are new to the area but have taken our dog here at least twice, once for an exam and blood work and once for a tail wound. On a Sunday his wound began bleeding again and I felt it needed to be looked at. When I called I was told the vet was already overbooked and I wouldn't be able to bring the dog in. I said I understood but asked that a vet tech call to advise me. I was told that would happen. I applied pressure to the wound and eventually was able to stop the bleeding...luckily since I never did receive a call. At 7 that evening the tail wound began bleeding profusely and neither my husband nor I could get it to stop. We finally had to take him to the emergency clinic in Langley where after quite a while they were able to stop the bleeding. We returned home after 3 hours with a hefty emergency room bill as well as antibiotics and a sedative for the dog. I might also add that both my car and my kitchen were covered with blood. We were also told to follow up with our regular vet. Needless to say, that won't be Alouette!

Really disappointed with Alouette. Been going there for 6+ years and it's been going down hill for a few years now. We were told our dog has possible cancerous tumors on his leg. Obviously we were upset and wanted to help him. A 1200+dollar surgery was highly recommended. The day he was suppose to go in we were told their ...oxygen machine... broke so they couldnt do it. Had a bad feeling so we got a second opinion. We were happy to hear they were just cyst and now are gone and didnt have to put our poor boy through UNNECESSARY surgery.

The staff go above and beyond! My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and the Dr.H called every day at the beginning to make sure she and I where ok with the insulin and checking her sugars. I now need to have surgery and will be in hospital for a few days and the AMAZING staff are opening the Chateau just for my diabetic cat and her cat sister (so they can be together) and diabetic cat can have her insulin 2x a day! I LOVE Alouette and I am so grateful for all the wonderful staff and the love and care they provide to the animals and support for the human parents ????????

It is now time to amend my below comment. Everything I felt below was correct, and excuse me for taking so long to make this right. Dr. Orser made the effort to contact me and turn my bad experience into a very good experience. He provided me with ear drops at no charge and really listened to my concerns, and addressed them, so thank you....that is what customer service and ultimate care for my pet that I expect. I now see Dr. Salloum and she is absolutely, without question FANTASTIC! She has done for my dog what no other vet has done, and her compassion and advice and treatment for her issues has been resolved......I will continue to go to Alouette, and highly recommend them. If you experience issues discuss it with Dr. Orser, and I am confident that he will make every effort to make it right! Again, thank you! My dog just had a $718 surgery last week and they didn't give enough meds, so on her check up today they want another $56.00 for ear drops - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I should have been provided with enough meds for the recovery period!!!! I feel they were at least partially to blame for her situation, but that's just too long of a story. I would rather pay extra to take her somewhere else than to pay those bandits more!!!! I have been going to this vet for approximately 7 years, and often thought to change, but they were convenient, shame on me.....you rarely see the same vet, they have one arrogant vet (won't go there either), but the front end staff are absolutely fabulous which they are the reason I didn't switch a long time ago

We have 3 rescued dogs that we take to this animal hospital, and have been impressed every time, the Doctors take the time to explain things to me, care enough to make personal calls to us to see how our dogs are doing after seeing the Doctors. The prices they charge are more then reasonable, we have been quoted much higher prices at other veterinary hospitals closer to home, we travel from Cloverdale to maple Ridge. Grace, Otto, Roxy and now Franky the cat are happy and healthy, thanks to the Doctors and staff at Alouette Animal Hospital.

Marshall M.

Excellent support staff. Solid COVID plan in place. Wish the doctor explained more on how to care for my dog's ear. I find their rates higher than other places in Maple Ridge.

Went to another vet in Maple Ridge and had terrible experiences. Since coming to Alouette over 20 years ago they have dealt with multiple of my and my parents and friends animals. The staff is unbelievable and without them I would have lost my best friend. The the staff was able to act fast and save my dogs life. I will never go to another vet, they are so understanding and thorough with explaining what is going on, aswell as what they will be doing to help. Cant thank you guys enough for what you do!

I was very disappointed with my experience with the front counter staff at this clinic, I complained but was ignored until several weeks later when the vet called me up to make amends for my wasted money. My subsequent visit was very pleasant, the vet was knowledgeable and the girls at the front were friendly. I still think the prices are a little high but that goes for most vets I guess, now that I know they do care about customer satisfaction I will continue bringing my dog there and would recommend it to other people in the area.

My small dog got in a bad dog fight. I took him first to a nearby vet in Poco, and then had to transfer him to Langley Emergency for a night. At $1200 for that night at emergency, I simply could not afford to keep him there, so the vet told me there I should either consider transferring him or euthanizing him. I then made the decision to transfer him to Allouette Animal Hospital, which is my home vet. I badly regret not taking him there immediately, instead of paying $1800 the first day alone at the two other places. The staff at Allouette are unparalleled. The reception are friendly and knowlegable. The vets are caring and well trained. And the prices were DRAMATICALLY lower than the other two places I went. One receptionist named Shannon took a liking to my dog, and would come in early, on her days off, and on her lunch break to cuddle my dog and take him outside in the sun. I can't recommend this vet enough. I will not go anywhere else.

Friendly staff and knowledgeable vets but if your concerned about your pets well-being take them elsewhere. This clinic is more concerned about keeping appointments then they are about treating animals and that says a lot considering they are always running late. I have been taking all three of my dogs to this clinic for years and several times I have been very disappointed with how they handle emergency situations. There cost is fair at the expense of overall concern for your animal.

John M Cotton

Good vets

Emily Smith

Not too impressed... I’ve been to this vet 3 times and each time they have been pretty disorganized. I totally get it that covid procedures are new but the fact that they would always call me about another persons dog... goes to show their disorganization. Everyone seems friendly enough but lacks confident answers to common questions. They gave me cough medicine but didn’t provide proper syringes...I’m gonna have a blast trying to give my dog the medicine without them. Not a bad vet but will probably take my business elsewhere next time.

Helen Traverse

Came here for 15 years then they sold and the vets keep changing, Dr Dhaliwal hurt my dog and I will never let him near her again we now go to Dewdney Animal hospital and they really care, both my dogs are doing way better since leaving

Vanessa Michelle

We took our dog here after he was hit by a car and honesty we were so happy the way we were treated and he got the care he needed this could have been a horrible day but they took care of him and us

Teejay Andrychuk

Wife took dog in for stubborn hot spots because our regular vet was busy..... was given rude service, mumbo jumbo, sneaky billing and prescriptions that we did not recommend worked that were more expensive. Went for followup after two weeks and disappointed that nothing they did for him cleared up or stopped itching when other visits to our usual vet never had a problem helping hots spots that were much worse than these hot spots. Got same usual unfriendly treatment to us and dog and told to try the medicine that we first recommended this time. Felt like all was cared about was the business not the animal, Ended up just leaving and giving that money to our usual vet. All around bad vibe, don't waste you time or money, but unfortunately now we know.

Horrible. Just simply horrible. Tall brown doctor swoops in scoops dog from my arms walks away to separate room to cut his nails. Next thing I know my dog is screaming for help and three people are yelling at him. They absolutely terrorized him. He walks in to the waiting room and practically throws him at me. After all that he only cut half his nails. Avoid this place at all costs. Just my opinion.
