Huge thanks to everyone there! Amazing caring staff. Despite the pandemic I was still able to have my collie treated for minor injury with the utmost care. I've been going to WBAH since they opened. They took excellent care of my cat Marble and were very compassionate and caring through her journey with CRF. When it came time to say goodbye, they were very caring and compassionate, not only with Marble but with me as well. I now take my dog Cleo to WBAH and they have been just as wonderful with her. She recently had a back issue and they were informative and once again, caring. Even when I would call a lot Dr. Harkness was always attentive and caring and would offer advice or get her in to see him. My pets and myself are in good hands with WBAH, I would encourage any pet owner (fur baby parent) to use them for their pets.

Our Dolly wasn't feeling well in the evening. She didn't have the ability to move her back legs, felt very lethargic and had no motivation. The next morning, she attempted to get up, but was unable too. When we contacted West Brant Animal Hospital, I was speaking with Laura about Dolly and broke down. Laura was so compassionate and said to bring Dolly in. She was so kind on the phone and understanding. A beautiful angel! When we arrived, two lovely and kind assistants, Lesley and Brenda greeted us with a stretcher to carry Dolly and made her feel loved and at ease. These two are angels! We were seen by Dr. Amy Butler who was very professional, compassionate and explained everything to us. Thank you Dr. Butler! You are so kind and yes, another angel at Team West Brant Animal Hospital! Our Dolly is home now and we pray that every day she feels stronger and is back to her ol self! Thank you to all, especially Dr. Kevin, who continues to show so much care and compassion to all our fur babies and to us doggie owners, to the staff, Judy and the rest of the amazing staff. I went for my first appointment today with my newly adopted cat from the Brant SPCA. I'm new to Brantford and I was nervous about where to take my girl. I made the appointment on a recommendation from a friend who brings their dog to West Brant. I can't say enough nice things about all of the staff and Vet Kevin. I feel like as a cat dad, bringing a new animal to the clinic... I was super apologetic when my super docile and loving cat, attacked him while getting her nails clipped. Everyone was totally understanding and I feel like the experience was harder on me than anything. I don't usually write reviews, but the service I received for my baby girl was exceptional and deserved to be recognized. I'm very proud to say that they are my cat's vet. Thank you West Brant Animal Hospital for an amazing first experience. (I hope my cat never gets sick or hurt) I can't wait to go back though. =)

Well two weeks went by and no response. I emailed again and still no response. So I decided to call to find out they’re not taking new clients. I took my new puppy to West Brant Animal Hospital for the first time, last week. It was a totally 'positive' visit for both my Chihuahua Peanut and for me! Very bright and clean when we walked in the door and we were greeted by cheerful staff right off the bat. Doctor was awesome, took her time to explain everything to me, handled pup so lovingly .... how could we not help but make this our "to go to" place for Peanut? Great experience!

I am kind of blown away by the excellent and knowledgable service I recieved for my kitty, Cheeto! As soon as I brought him in, Cheeto and I got a huge smile and they knew his name right away! Cheeto got so many compliments about his fur, how healthy he is, what a handsome kitty he is, and so much more. I love how they made his appointment as calming and quick as possible asking many important questions. Doctor Mike answered every question I had in so much detail and examples, everything was very clear. Cheeto felt right at home in the office and did not want to leave to go home at the end of his appointment, I almost couldn't believe it. I wish there was a way to give 10 out of 5 stars because they really deserved it! I will be bringing Cheeto here every year for his appointments :)

I can't say enough good things about West Brant Animal Hospital. Me & my wife are in our early fifties and our pets are like our children. The care they give to our pets I sometimes wished our own People Doctor gave as much time and care. Our Lhasa Apso who has been so well looked after by the West Brant Animal Clinic Rescued from a “kill animal shelter” in central Florida over ten years ago, he has learned to trust humans. His arthritis is now treated, and he acts more like his old puppy self. His companionship and devotion to us has been made possible by the great Vets, Techs and Office Staff who go out of their way to professionally triage their patients. No treatment is pushed upon, no hard sell that in the end may only cause suffering for our pet. We really expect a few more happy years for this little guy who has grown to trust our species again. We thank the WBAH.

My dog had been suffering with what I assumed to be seasonal allergies for years. I had been through a previous vet who quite frankly couldn’t come up with a decent diagnosis of my dogs condition and even misdiagnosed him as hypothyroid. It was a mistake that cost me hundreds in vet bills. The doctor at West Brant performed some tests on my dog that other vets never even attempted. In the end through diagnosis and consultation we determined that it was a yeast/bacterial infection that was causing his problems. He’s now on meds that will hopefully lead to a full recovery and an itch-free dog. The resulting bill was not nearly as bad as I imagined it would be - an added bonus. Overall it was a positive experience that yielded real results. I’ve had bad experiences with vets in the past and quite frankly I’m very mistrusting of them. But hopefully my new found faith in this practice will not be misplaced.

When we take one or all of our dogs to West Brant Animal Hospital, the Ladies at the front greet us as if we are family - appreciated so much. The technicians and assistants are equally invested in ensuring our dogs are taken care of with a great deal of care, support and understanding of each and every aspect of their visit. West Brant Animal Hospital Doctors (Veterinarians) surprised us with their genuine care in assessing our dogs problem(s). They actually get right down on the floor to let the dogs get to know them on their level. What we really appreciate is the fact that with Dakota's leg, we were shown the xray, then everything plus our options were explained to us in plain English. At no time did the Drs. give us the idea that they were in a hurry. They took the time that we needed to make sure that we were fully understanding of everything and that all our questions were answered. We fully recommend the West Brant Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a Veterinary service, you definitely deserve the best and so does your pet.

It was voted the best veterinary clinic in Brantford I believe, and for a good reason. West Brant animal hospital is our vet for our Labrador Lucy and our cat Dexter. They are always very good with both of them and all of the vets and tech are very friendly. Dexter needed to have some of his teeth extracted and had to go under. He reacted badly to the anestetic and they called us imediatly. Explained every thing and let us take him home early because he was doing well and not adjusting to recovery well. They were extremely compassionate and helpfully.

Their staff, be it front line, technicians or veterinarians, are effective in their jobs, but manage to treat both my pets and I with compassion at every encounter. West Brant Animal Hospital's quick attention to my dog suddenly becoming ill after digesting a small piece of homeade "slime" was incredible. Our whole family was incredibly stressed, and we were very scared. They ran tests and told us about follow up. What most impressed me was that for almost an entire week afterward, they called to follow up on our girl's progress and to see how she was! The Doctor herself even called to check in. Very impressed. Thank you for being a great team in a very stressful time for our family!

When my little bear bear was in so much pain the doctor did tests she came back saying he should be put down . She also stated she doesnt recommend it unless needed. Which in fact it was needed . Almost 4 years old with possible cancer but definitely had minerals around his spine disc . He couldnt even move his tail and was in alot of pain. They did the best they could up to the point we found out what was going on. They are amazing. Expensive but that's the price for accuracy

He really seems to love our cat and dog, I went to a clinic in Btfd some years ago and the vet would not even TOUCH the dog. He was just raking in the money and had found a lucrative endeavor. Went there for dental work for our doggie. While waiting for our surgery date Duncan had an issue with ulcer/tummy. Dr. Kylie was lovely, very caring .She explained our options but didn't make us feel guilty or pressure us...everything turned out well and Duncan was able to get his dental surgery done. He may have a gummy grin now but is much more comfortable and is more pleasant to kiss now that he doesn't have the stinky breath! :D

This is a fantastic animal hospital. Dr. Harkness is a saint, and does amazing work taking care of our four legged family members. The staff are great as well. There is ample parking and a large waiting area with washrooms. They also stock a lot of specialty pet food. You couldn't find a better place to bring your pets.

Professional, courteous, caring and sensitive, they helped me to remain calm when my little puppy had been attacked and mauled by a much larger breed dog. Their competence was so reassuring, and the level of passion they possess for the care and treatment of our animals is unparalleled. I liked that they explained each procedure, the what, why and how of it, as well as the cost. As this was a significant unexpected event, so was the cost, and I was given the choice (budget-wise) of what I could afford for my little Delilah. As a family on a budget, this was truly appreciated. My dog is doing so much better now, and I know that it was definitely a result of the doctors at West Brant Animal Hospital, and God as well, of course. I would recommend to anyone and everyone in the area, if you're looking for a quality, choice animal care center staffed he people who care, West Brant Animal Hospital is the place to go!

Barrett was in last week to have his icky ears checked. He's a lab so he likes to be in the water, this time of year labs will often have ears that need treatment. He was quite pleased with the vet (Dr Richards) even though she had to look into his icky ears, and I was quite pleased he was so unconcerned to be at the vet's. I highly recommend this clinic - they seem to care about our four legged family members, and that counts for a very great deal!

We have a new dog and 3 cats who let us live at our house, and West Brant Animal Hospital is their choice for all care. Our new puppy, who is now 18 months old was born with a deformed left front leg, making it almost useless and taking away from her Pure Breed rating. She is an Australian Shepherd and so far she is giving me great marks on all my homework. The advise given by our vet was that we could invest considerable sums to try and repair her left front leg, or that we could let her grow into being a 31/2 legged dog and if the leg bothered her we would consider surgery. Sadie has no problem walking or running and the leg does not bother her at all, she has adapted wonderfully. We really appreciate the honesty and care of West Brant Animal Hospital and their Common Sense approach to animal health!

This has been my Frenchie's vet for the last couple of years now. I was referred to them by a vet nurse I met and had shared some of the issues my dog was going through. It's about 40 minutes from us but was willing to make the drive if it was worth it. I'm so happy I followed her advice and made an appointment! Even though they have a few different vets at this hospital, they pair you with one that has experience with your breed. We see Dr. Bronsoiler each time we come in so, we get consistent care and don't need to question any differences in opinion as you get from many other vet clinics. They're rates are competitive and they don't offer to perform tests they think won't further a diagnosis. Their team is so welcoming each time we're there and they treat you and your pet as part of their family. This is the first hospital I've been to where I've received phone calls from our vet following up on new medication or after neutering to find out how my little guy is doing. It really makes the difference knowing that they care as much for your pet as you do. I really appreciate everything they've done for us and refer them to anyone who is looking.

I took my Siberian Husky Chinook he was having issues with what seems to be a cold. The vetenerian was able to determine the issue quickly with the information I provided her with. The medecine given to Chinook worked within a couple of hours. Very happy with the result!! Staff is very friendly and this is the place where I will take Chinook from now on. The only negative comment I have was that the vetenerian said that Chinook was aggressive because he was growling at staff. The issue with Chinook is that he does not like new people and he was scared and was shaking. They look to be a great team and they care about the animals. I am giving a 5 stars rating!! We have been going here for years for our 2 cats, one of which has a severe, ongoing health problem. The team here (with Dr Butler as our main vet) has been wonderful in helping us diagnose and treat our little guy. The desk staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable, and they encourage you to ask all the questions you want and be involved in your pets care. Other vets we have been to over the years always seemed to get frustrated by this, but here they welcome you wanting to research things yourself and question all you can. Overall it feels like everyone at this clinic truly cares about your animal, and because of that I recommend to everyone.

We were new clients to the clinic and we arrived 10 minutes early for our pre-scheduled appointment. They stuck us in a room as soon as we got there. Very small room with no windows and left us there for 55 minutes. Did not check on us at all. (My husband fell asleep) We were minutes from walking out when someone finally came to us. Then we find out that our previous vets files were not loaded into their computer and all they had was copies of "paper invoices" from our previous vet. Do they really want be to believe that they intend to read these invoices and get to know my animals. WE WILL NOT BE BACK !!!

On February 2, 2016 I had taken my 6 yr old golden retriever Ridley to the local dog park on Gilkison Street. Upon entering there was a man standing there with a full-blooded pitbull, (which incidentally are banned in Ontario and there is now an investigation ongoing regarding this). I asked the man to hold that dog so we could enter. The dog broke free and attacked my dog. He required urgent medical attention so I took him to West Brant Animal Hospital, which is also my vet. He required several staples in his R front leg. We saw Dr. Richards whom Ridley has had several times before. She said Ridley was so easy to treat, not requiring any sedation as she stapled him. We have always had wonderful, compassionate care at this clinic and will continue to go there and highly recommend it. They go beyond !

A few years ago I brought my dog into get looked at, the vet gave us a medication that he was NOT supposed to take with his other medication. We ended up taking him back and we had to put him down. His life was taken away early for a vet that didn’t bother looking at his medical history. This vet to this day still works there. The owner of this practice worked at one of the worst vet clinics in town called Beattie animal hospital. I know a few girls who brought there animals here and the vets told them absolutely crazy diagnostic problems such as cancer and how they needed emergency surgery when it was never the case. Always get a 2nd opinion and I would stay clear of this vet office.

From the first visit (which is always nerve wracking) we were met with smiles from the very attentive staff. The Dr.s and interns always take their time with me and my Boxer so I feel all my concerns are addressed. Wonderful Clinic!!! September 2020, My female boxer was in distress, it was almost 5 p.m. when I called to see if I could bring her in. Even though they were fully booked, I was told to come and let them know when I got there. Only your pet is aloud into the clinic, everything is talked about from the parking lot on the phone. Due to the Covid. Less than 15 minutes after we arrived, staff came out to take her info and she was then seen by Dr. Hartness. He came outside to the explain what needed to be done. Not long after, my Boxer was returned to me having worst case senarios ruled out. Given meds to calm her down. Dr. Hartness called the next morning to follow up. All is great!! Thank you once again to everyone at the Clinic.....with all that's going on, you are all the absolute best!!

My dog has been a client of this clinic for many years (12+?). The last time we were there she developed kennel cough. She does not frequent any other dog "social" areas so are pretty certain this is where she picked it up. We can't say we've seen consistent love and support which other reviewers mention over the years that we have attended the clinic. Our experience has been a doctor who was uncomfortable with the size of our dog which led to muzzling and more stress. Other experiences have led to a lot of "unknowns" which lead to recommendations of a battery of tests which then lead to more stress of the dog with no real known answers. After a surgery for a cyst on the surface of her skin about 2 years ago she developed diarrhea which lasted upwards of 3 months (and greatly impacted her health and mobility). This has led to ongoing gastric sensitivities and recurrent diarrhea on and off since this surgery.

West Brant Animal Hospital is by far the best veterinary experience we have had. Our family dog was incredibly sick and we had gone to a few different veterinary clinics that were disappointing with respect to the inadequate care they provided, their lack of professionalism, and outrageous fees. When we went to West Brant Animal Hospital, they took a great deal of time and effort to care for our dog. She was a complex case, but the veterinarian was open and honest about the results provided, explained what they meant, and helped paint a picture of what we could expect over the coming weeks should our dog remain sick and what actions we could take should we wish to pursue them. The veterinarian called our home a week later to follow-up on our dog to ensure that she was okay and provide us with an opportunity to ask her any questions at that time. I would highly recommend the West Brant Animal Hospital to anyone who genuinely wants the best care for their pet(s).

We aren't sure what has happened but we have dealt with Dr. Kevin for over 20 years and unfortunately he hasn't cared to call us back. Dr. Mike has been amazing, hence the 2 stars but we are truly hurt. I was once an advocate and sent many clients here but we have been sent in the wrong direction twice now which was costly. Staff said they appreciated how kind I was due to the circumstances. That is our nature. Just wish Dr. Kevin was there for long term clients to step in and help say good bye to loved ones or call when we needed him. Always gave a 5 but not sure what this place is doing now. Then I was so happy to hear that I did not have to pay for a second visit to have a follow up shot - just the cost of the shot itself would be due!
