I was referred to this vet from a coworker. They have a super friendly staff and are very helpful and genuinely appear to care about your pets. They explain what your options are and explain different procedures etc and why they recommend each. They are not pushy at all. Really great to deal with overall.

Shellard Lane Animal Hospital is by far the BEST. We had our itilian greyhound Nelly looked at for a loose tooth. I called Monday. Nelly was seen that morning and had her big dental surgery on Friday.Nelly was treated as a princess. Everyone was kind,friendly and knowledgeable. We received a follow up call on Sat. Then a card was sent welcoming us as a new patient. Thank you for taking amazing care of our Nelly.

I think Shellard Lane Veterans plus there nurses are great! I got a pup for Christmas and she needed her shots I called 7 vets before them and all said not till the new year. Then Shellards then said yes next week! I was so happy! My girl loved the vet! She even got q new toy (Kong toy) and she loves it. Thank yoi for the team at Shellard Lane Vet

Honestly, our experience is always great when we bring Bosco, especially lately with his "emergency" paw issues. He is always well taken care of and my questions are always answered and they seem fit him in even when they are busy. I can never thank them enough! They all love animals and it shows in the care they give their patients. Bosco loves seeing them, even if he doesn't always like the procedures :)

We can not recommend this location enough, 6 stars. Staff and vets are wonderful and truly love the animals they treat. Very organized and do follow ups, they care. Reminders of treatments required, will work with you financially if possible. Great location lots of parking.

The staff is amazing and friendly. I just recently started using them but during the heart of Covid when no one else would take my dog Zues after he got his foot badly hurt and was bleeding and in a lot of pain. They took him immediately and made him better not even his own vet did that for him. Then sent me an email and phone call a week later to see how he was doing. I am so grateful and lucky to have found them. I have now started to take all my dogs there.

This is in my opinion the best vet clinic in and surrounding Brantford and we have been to a few! The staff are always super friendly, and super understanding with my old cranky man! They comfort you through the difficult stages and laugh through the fun ones! They are there at the beginning of the journey with your fur baby, and they are with you at the end, with grace, compassion and even a few tears! I honestly can't say enough good about this place, the best part is they treat your animal with as much respect as they do the human that brings them in!

Been going to the same place for years and decided to try Shellard Lane Animal Hospital today. My dog is not an easy guy to care for during his visits which is also hard on me. They were very understanding and supportive-never judgemental. I had my tired 4 year old in tow and a drama queen of a dog, they were all professional and kind. The costs were broken down for me before doing anything, pricing options provided where they could and a transparent discussion of the care he needed associated with those costs. Very fair pricing. We had to take our 16 year old cat to be euthanized, and the staff were amazing. They gave us a cast paw print of our little girl as part of the fee. Our fur baby, Alexander, arrived to us from a cat shelter and after just a week, he suddenly started overgrooming and had low energy - the poor guy was feeling really crummy and bleeding all over the place as he couldn't stop licking his wounds. We called a number of vets in the area early one Saturday but no-one had any availability for at least a week or demonstrated genuine concern for our cat. Shellard Lane however was more than accommodating and squeezed him in for the Monday. We saw Meghan who provided exceptional care, put him on medication to address a number of issues she found, which immediately provided relief, and she was very thorough in her examination and requested blood tests to get to the root cause of the issue. We have had several appointments since and costs have been very reasonable for the high quality of care. Meghan takes the time to phone to explain the progress and treatment and never rushes you. Alexander is now doing so well. We couldn't be happier at the level of care and attention from Meghan and all the team at Shellard Lane. Without doubt, the very best vet care we have ever received.

If you're wondering where you should take your pet for vet appointments, vaccines, etc, this is the place! The staff here are the absolute best. They were fully booked, but due to my pup's condition they worked hard to squeeze him in and have him examined and given medications. I could not be more grateful for the lovely staff here.

As a over worrying cat owner, my cat had diarrhea with blood in it! I panicked and was super worried about my fury bestie! Called shellards lane vet and spoke with a very kind lady named Judy who informed me That they are taking new patients but were fully booked! I desperately asked her what I could do for my baby and explained the situation to her she put me on a brief hold and said that I could drop him off and they would look at him in between appointments. Dr Melanie was the amazing dr who took care of Emmitt she made time to call me and ask me all the required questions about him amd made sure I understood what she was saying! When I called back to arrange a time to pick him up I spoke to another super kind lady named Mary who seemed to really love my boy as much as I do and mentioned to me another staff member who also assisted in helping Emmitt feel better named Robin! Thank you so much to these wonderful caring ladies who took the time for me and my cat! I will definitely always go back to this place even if I don’t have a pet!!

We had to use them in an emergency situation as our own vet was very dismissive of us. They had our poor sick dog in within 10 minutes of me speaking with Mary and explaining the issues. They did everything possible to figure out treatment and he was transferred for overnight care at the emergency clinic. Unfortunately he passed away in the wee hours but I am forever grateful for all they did to make him comfortable and no one could have foreseen the seizure and sudden death. I have transferred all my pets to their care and they have already made great strides in solving an ongoing skin issue with another dog that our regular vet said was age related . She’s like a new dog now. I highly recommend everyone there. Dr Susan even took the time to call when she heard the news to talk if I needed to .

Everyone here was amazing. The team worked closely with my family during a very scary time. Our beloved puppy ate walnut cat litter and became blocked. She was hard to diagnose because it was not showing up in xray. The Dr.'s did the surgery to find it. Our puppy was slow to recover just because of her nature and all the employees stayed with her and cared for her. Our puppy is doing good and it is all due to the excellent care she received.

I have mixes feelings about shellard lane animal hospital. Depending on the vet my rating would change. When i first started going there i loved the place and the vets. The techs and workers have always been great but over the years the vets have changes. There is one in particular that i dont like and ones that i have missed. I dont feel that they have ever been not good but the affection and type of care has differed from vet to vet. When my last dog had to be put down i was fortunate to get the more caring and sympathetic vet. In the future i think i will try to learn the names and ask for certain vets. Overall it is a really good place but better depending on who you get.
