So my little guy got his leg crushed under a rocker...called my vet immediately they said monitor it and bring him in next morning am...called next morning obvious swelling wont bear weight...they refused to see him. I've been going to the Park Rd Vet Clinic for about 20yrs now, with every dog and cat I've owned. I now own 3 Yorkshire Terriers, 1 has serious allergies, 1 has a sensitive stomach and one is afraid of people. I love the Vets, I think they are awesome and take amazing care of my girls. But it's not my review of them that is important it's Zsa Zsa's, she is my "Afraid of people" girl, only she's not afraid of any of the staff at Park Rd Vet Clinic, she lets them pick her up and they can take her out of the room away from me and she is fine, she lets them examine her head to toe and even gives them kisses, and she doesn't kiss anyone but me. I wouldn't take my four legged family members anywhere else. I love how much they care about my girls and how well they treat them.

Our 2yr old Newfoundland is our giant baby, we have had the most amazing experiences with park road vet. He's big and dopey and just loves the ladies at the front desk. We are always pleased with how everyone treats us and when we have had emergency situations someone is always willing to provide us with help even if they are busy at the front desk. Absolutely zero compassion. My dog had an allergic reaction to a bee sting today and was having issues breathing. I called up Park Rd as they are (were) our vets and they advised to bring him in. It's noted on his file that he's reactive towards vets and I reminded them on the phone that I would need to be in the room with him (wearing a mask of course). She did not say ANYTHING about me not coming into the room then. I got there and was then told that it's protocol to not allow owners in. My dog is reactive to the point where no exam would have been able to even take place if I weren't in the room. I responded that I'm going to take him home then and cross my fingers he doesn't die. The receptionist's response was "okay, have a good day". NO compassion whatsoever and I'm absolutely disgusted with the staff at Park Rd. No one even bothered to call and follow up to see if he was still alive! Thankfully the kind-hearted staff at Fairview Pet Hospital got him in right away (the vet even stayed late to see him) and we were allowed in there with him, no issues whatsoever. Please give your receptionists a crash course in compassion, Fairview will be getting my money from now on. EDIT: One of the vets reached out to us and apologized for how we were treated in a time of emergency. The person I spoke with when I first called was a vet tech and had it cleared that I was to be in the room with my dog. The receptionist was the one who I spoke with when I arrived who had an attitude and took it upon herself to keep protocols in place without caring to discuss it with someone above her. While I appreciate the phone call and feel much better about my feelings towards Park Rd, I will not return because of that receptionist. Please get rid of her before an innocent animal dies because of her.

If you are looking for a place to have your furry friend groomed, ask for Laurie here at Park Road Vet. Laurie takes the time to learn how you'd like your dog styled, and she makes the effort to make them comfortable while she's grooming. Highly recommended, I cant/won't take my dog anywhere else.

My dog was there for 5 hours without need. The vet seemed absolutely apathetic about our concern, and even scolded us for CHECKING IN ON OUR DOG. "Well when we get people calling over and over" lady you've told us nothing and held my dog basically hostage for hours you can handle 3 phone calls (which were fairly spaced out might I add) will NEVER bring my dog here again. I understand when there's an emergency, but in that case you should be calling the owners of any other animals in your facility and giving them the option to reschedule. I know my dog, she hates being separated from us, we would've been more than happy to reschedule due to the emergency, but we weren't even given the option!

I do not recommend Park Road Veterinary Clinic in Brantford. They did NOT give me all the info in regards to Cher. She should not have suffered like she did. I have two witnesses who heard and were present for the ENTIRE conversation first hand so when I have asked over and over about her suffering. What was the end gonna be like? What are her chances? They never told me that the end was like this when I asked and every time I said euthanasia Dr Boulter talked about the meds and how she would be able to walk in a week and these heart meds would help her. Even when I asked Lisa at the front desk straight up "I don't believe Dr Boulter is giving it to me straight. I want to know what is in the best interest of Cher (again witnesses to this). I wanted to talk to the vet I trusted who I was told I would be seeing that day and then got Dr Boulter. When asking for another doctor I was then given the same doctor who had "discussed it" with Chers regular vet. Dr Brenda Gough called me a liar saying that I was informed and that I left I'm sorry but because you two talked about it doesn't mean she informed me. I had someone on the phone with me the whole time we were looking at the X-rays and discussing options. Dr Boulder knew she was on the phone with me and I informed her I was on speaker phone with this person I trusted this vet clinic with my dogs for years. Started going to that vet with my mom and Joy in 1992. You can call me anything you want, beat me etc and I may forgive you. But when it comes to my dogs I don't play and I don't lie. NOTHING IN THIS POST IS A LIE AND IF THAT IS SAID I GOT TWO WITNESSES, ONE BEING A CLIENT SO LONG THAT NONE AND I MEAN NONE OF THE STAFF WORKED THERE WHEN SHE BROUGHT HER DOBERMAN THERE BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN. You wanna call her a liar too. When that was said, it was a slap in my face an in Cher's. We are not trash like you want to make us look like. I will not stay silent when my girl didn't have a voice and without all the information I didn't either. Because no matter whether they gave her 10 minutes or 10 years you had no right to sway my decision. You left out facts and didn't answer serious questions based on her conditions. I would have at least known what we were looking at. I said the word euthanasia several times. It was an option. But not for Dr Boulter Cher suffered. The things I had to see with no warning what could come. I have been an emotional mess not only losing Cher but this with a vet practice I trusted. I am not angry that the meds didn't work. I am not angry that Cher lost her fight. I am not angry about any of that. I am at peace with that decision cos I made the decision based on ALL the facts. I am angry that my questions weren't answered. No clue on what to expect. I saw my baby suffer in ways no one wants to imagine. I am angry about being called a liar when I am telling the truth. I will fully admit I was emotional and yelling. Because I felt that no one was hearing what I was saying. I brought it up to the staff before Cher was euthanized. Park Road Vet I hold you personally responsible for the suffering Cher endured because of not getting all the facts. Oh and to answer the question about where I want my babies files transferred far away from Park Road Vet Clinic that is for sure. I will never go back there. I will never beg to save that. Cos my Cher was worth more to me than my own life at times. I will not let Chers suffering go unnoticed. I will not stay silent about the NEGLIGENCE of not giving me all the information. Because that girl kept me alive because of a promise I made to her. She did not in any way deserve what she went through. You can not take away an owners informed decision away. That is not your job. Your job is to help me help my dogs in their treatment. To dismiss euthanasia every time I brought it up what answer do you think I was getting???? Because of that she suffered. And I will never forget that. #JusticeForCher #ParkRoadVet

Last weekend we lost our beloved Soozie. I had been fortunate to have several family pets as a child, but Soozie was my first pet as an adult. Bill and I got her from the Humane Society in Sault Ste. Marie as a kitten - hence the name 'Soo'zie - almost 19 years ago. She was such a gentle, loving soul and I will so miss looking into her beautiful green eyes every day. I can't begin to thank the staff at Park Road Vet clinic enough. They fit us in on a busy Saturday morning at a moment's notice. They treated Bill, Emma and I - and most importantly Soozie - with such compassion and caring. Thanks to all of you - Dr. Gough and numerous others who took care of us - for all that you did. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

terrible vets. cares only about the money. Just paid 50 dollars to be told they wont help me. Called upset with a dying cat and was screamed at and told to go some where else. Then was told I'd need 5000 dollars to give my cat an iv, fluids and antibiotics. And thatd only cover about three days. (he has a respiratory infection) Your options here are pay thousands or kill you pet. Do NOT recommend. Not compassionate at all. 0/10.

This has been very difficult time for us with this vet as they would not give an appointment for Teddie to check his ear as it was infected. Had to pay extra $60.00 to drop off which was not necessary as the vet could have checked his ear and just needed ear drops. My Teddie suffered unnecessarily with no help from them

Staff is excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and not opposed to homeopathic ideas. I've found other vets to be quite rude and condescending when a more "natural" option is brought up....but Park Road staff has never been anything but kind to me. In fact, they actually carry some natural options for teeth care, skin care and nutritional supplements. Also, everyone treats my pets like they're handling their own. Hugs and kisses and snuggles abound. My one little guy had to stay over night one time and, I found out afterwards, spent an entire staff meeting being held and hugged by everyone. :)

Unbelievably terrible service. I needed to renew my cats pain medication, she had 5 does left and would have her last dose tomorrow which is a holiday. I called on Thursday and everyday, up until today, requesting her medication! One receptionist was totally unprofessional and tried to tell me I need to call 5-7 days prior. I have never had such a run around before. And something this clinic doesn’t know, is that I was a receptionist for 17 years in the vet business. So, I know more than a little about customer service. I’ll be moving my pets elsewhere!

We've been going to Park Road for years, and couldn't be happier with them. Recently, we moved from Brantford to Woodstock. One of my dogs became suddenly really sick - he was in immense pain and wouldn't eat - so we took him to a vet in Woodstock. They ran some tests and said they didn't know what was going on and referred us to Guelph, giving us an estimate of $2500 to find out what was even wrong and suggested that he would probably need a $7000 surgery. There was no way we could afford that, so it felt like we'd just been handed a death sentence for our little guy. We decided to bring him to Park Road, making the 30 minute trip, for a second opinion. The vet in Woodstock sent the results of the tests they did, and Park Road did some of their own. They weren't entirely sure what was going on, but they sent all the tests to a specialist (cost was about $150), and two days later we had a diagnosis and began treatment. Mind you, the treatment involved a 28-hour stay in the vet and a good deal of medication, so it still cost a pretty penny, but our little guy is now healing and getting better every day and we spent less than we would have for Guelph to even figure out what was wrong with him. Park Road Vet literally saved our dog's life, going above and beyond any other vet I've gone to. They were very friendly, answered any questions we had over the phone, and seemed genuinely concerned for his well-being. I wouldn't go to any other vet.

I have just moved to Brantford and while looking for a Veterinary Clinic online I decided to pick Park Road Vet for my Teddie as there were good reviews. Our first visit was good and Teddie got his shots and nails clipped which worked out well as my Teddie really hates getting his nails clipped which makes it very difficult and stressful for him and me. I liked the staff they were great and gave me lot of information. I would have said it is great but I wish Dr Kung had spent little more time to discuss about his dental work. Hope on my next appointment I would be able to speak with the doctor about my concerns. Also after my next visit I can upgrade my review and give 5 stars if Teddie's dental procedure works out well.

STAY AWAY from this money hungry practice!! Their veterinarian turnover rate is monthly....complete money grab and they could care LESS about your animals. THREE of their past vets dealt with my cats issues in 2020 and put him on a medication that cannot be stopped abruptly and they are REFUSING to fill his asthma script because "they haven't seen him in a year" Asthma doesn't go away in a year. So now we live in Norfolk and my cat cannot travel in a vehicle for 45+ mins without being sick... they wont even fill his asthma prescription until we can find a vet here. DISGUSTING! Spent 1000's at your practice. Despicable. Go elsewhere or you will be robbed and your animals neglected! Please Note: The bullying they are referring to is me telling their receptionist, thanks for nothing....which is what you did...nothing! You could have offered solutions, but no you were adamant about telling me no. Good riddance and no wonder ever doctor leaves your practice.

The staff at Park Road Veterinary Clinic are fabulous! My 90 lbs puppy is so timid it is challenging to brush him, never mind performing a physical exam or administering vaccinations. For over a year now we have been going in for Friendly Visits and the staff have been so patient and encouraging. Each little visit was a step forward and today, A HUGE SUCCESS! Bruno had his vaccinations with little more then a whimper which was easily soothed with treats and lots of love from the doctor and support staff. What a great place. We have had some happy visits and we have had some sad ones. Staff has always been excellent. Compassionate and caring people all around. We switched to this clinic some years ago due to some not so great experiences elsewhere. We will never look back. The recommended after hours emergency clinic they refer you to when they're closed is quite good as well. We have had staff, especially vets, go above and beyond for us in the past and we have no doubt that they would not do it again for us. Here's to trusting them with some of our family member's health. Keep it up folks.

Park Road is my first choice because I trust their staff and the quality standards. Sure, some other places may be cheaper, but this is your pet's health we're talking about. Please don't comprise your companion just to save a few bucks. The staff at Park Road are professional, friendly, and most importantly caring!

Last Sunday afternoon Ollie walked into my life. Ollie is an 8 week old cockapoo who wasn't doing so well: vomiting, diarrhea, not eating nor drinking well. The staff at Park Road Veterinary Clinic fit Ollie into their schedule on Monday. Dr. Martin assessed Ollie, ran some tests (with good results :) and prescribed medications to halt the vomiting and diarrhea. It's only 3 days later and little Ollie has bounced back incredibly well. I normally do not write reviews but after my experience today I left sick to my stomach and more stressed then I was arriving. 8I made an appointment to have my dogs teeth addressed visible infection present.(I work in the dental field) For the past 7 years I have maintained my dogs teeth by brushing and gentle scale which every doctor I have seen in the past was aware of this and said to keep it up because her teeth looked great. Just like everyone life happens and things come up my husband passed away and life got hectic and things did get pushed to the side (not neglected) not an excuse but as a single mom trying to maintain everything my dogs teeth had to wait.(did have an appt in March but got cancled due to Covid-19) When someone brings their pet to you for treatment insulting the customer and making them feel bad for what they have or have not done is not the way to approach the situation. I did not come there to be judged and for my character to be questioned I came there to get care for my dog and that is what should have happened I should have been told what we need to do moving forward. While doing that a bit of courtesy would have been nice. I truly feel people should be alot more sensitive to other peoples feeling you dont know what someone is dealing with or going through. If a dog comes in to your clinic and has record of being there every year for a regular check up and vaccines is clearly well groomed goes every 6 weeks. Good indication the dog is NOT neglected or being abused by any means.

ALL staff is friendly and accommodating whenever we have had a health concern with our dogs. I have every confidence in their professional opinion and value it. I never feel the need to seek out a second opinion and I would absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone who owns a pet. We've been taking our little guy to park road vet for little over a year and I can't say enough good things about them. When we first brought him there as a puppy they treated him like he was their own puppy. Since then he has been in the best hands with Dr. Gough helping him with his allergy symptoms and with Amy doing his grooming. Which in fact she does a great job for a fraction of the price you would find anywhere else in town. I trust park road vet with my little guys life and wouldn't take him anywhere else. Unfortunately we had a bad experience recently dealing with an emergency with our dog. We have been going to this vet for 6 years now. Although the clinic was busy they got us a time to arrive for an emergency foreign body in our dogs stomach which was much appreciated. We were about 20 min late rushing there and were told me missed our emergency time slot. In hindsight we should have called but in emergency situations our thoughts were clouded. They did not give us any options other than to wait until 6:00PM at night to speak with another clinic. We found another clinic who recommended not waiting and were willing to fit him in. We very much appreciate all the help and compassion the Cambridge Vet showed for us. We will not be coming back to Park Road. I would recommend having other contacts other than a clinic open at 6:00PM. Waiting until then would have caused a much more serious outcome we later learned. I think patient care is very important in dealing with emergency situations. Although this may have been a "one off"- it has caused us to change clinics in the future.

The service I received with my dog last week was tremendous! My dog has had his back nail cracked and we were un sure of what to do. I went to see multiple vets that day to hear recommendations and all they said was I needed a consultation to see what is wrong, in which the vet wouldn't be able to see us until the next day or in a week, but my dog was in pain and we were scared it was going to get infected by then. A friend recommended Park Road Veterinary Clinic and said that they will help with anything and they are such kind individuals that work there, which she was 100% true. My dog and I went that day to the clinic and the lady at the front was so kind to take a look at my dog and said that everything will be okay, and there's nothing to worry about, were busy but will see if the vet can quickly take a look at the dog. It didn't even take 20 minutes and the vet took a quick peek at him and said it would take 5 seconds to clip the nail and thats it, after the other clinics I visited that day told me he would have to be put under and it would cost around $300 from just looking at it. A couple days after they called and asked how my dog was doing, amazing work!! All I can say is the service was exceptional and the individuals that work there are awesome, I will defiantly be coming back and recommending this place to all my friends and family!!

Due to covid it was difficult to find a vet for my puppy, but I'm glad I found this place. The staff is very friendly,and although I didn't get to meet with the dr one on one, he seemed very nice and knowledgeable over the phone. My puppy came out happy, healthy and full of treats. It came at a decent price, not too expensive. Overall pleased with the service and look forward to returning.

My dog absolutely loves her time with Laurie the Groomer from Park Rd. Veterinary! She is truly the best at what she does. Patient, kind and caring. I am very happy with the grooming that she does on my cockapoo. Her nails are cut and hair looks great every single time. She also smells amazing after the bath! The level of kindness, compassion in difficult times and enthusiasm with a new family member is 2nd to none. Through the past terrible year and a half, not one time was any person working there the slightest bit unprofessional, quite the opposite. I feel that everyone goes above and beyond and I never feel like I am being a pain through the many, many special needs I have had with my geriatric animals. I was lucky that the first vet that was recommended to me when I moved to Brantford was Park Road. I needn't look any farther. My 2 boys are the world to me, and I will do whatever it takes to keep them healthy and happy. I feel that everyone at Park road feels the same way I do. They always have the time for my numerous questions, big or small. I never feel like any question is stupid, that everything I ask is important. I know that everyone there from the front staff, the techs, to the vets, all have the same goal as I do, in keeping my boys happy and healthy. I recommend them any chance I get. I know that both Odie and Tucker love everyone that works there, and I'm so glad that we have them to count on.

They are always energized, happy, well informed and careful with our pets. Took my nursing dog here to have a culture sample taken and sent to lab.They recieved documents from the previous emergency visit stating the urine test indicated a U.T.I. including blood in the urine and my dog did not respond to the anti biotic prescribed. Park road left me waiting in car for 1 hour 15 minutes and came out with a 200$ bill . When i looked at the bill it showed they had run the exact same test which was only capeable of showing that she had an infection but the type of bacteria was unknown.I already paid the emergency for that test! The vet wanted to guess at which antibiotics they would test on Luna next. when i respectfully declined and stated i would rather find out what we were treating first, she became verbally abusive to the point i had to speak with the manager settling up payment and leaving the clinic in tears.They have neglected to properly treat my dog who is nursing 4 puppies and hung up on me when i called today to discuss the upsetting and unprofessional ways of which my dog and i were treated this past week. If they were unequipped to send the proper sample to lab they could've notified me and i would've been on my way.They said my animals and myself are not welcome to return. I will be contacting a legal professional. Makes you ask yourself if this clinic isnt willing to help animals in need, and thinks course language, hang ups and confrontation is appropriate should they be aloud to remain opperational? Begging all fur baby owers to go anywhere else.

You couldn't ask for a more capable, empathetic staff to take care of your animals. My first experience here was a scary one. I had recently adopted a dog, and on our walk one extremely foggy morning he was hit by my neighbor's car (going slowly down their country driveway, in the dense fog she couldn't see him). We got to Park Road Vet in a complete panic, and they got me in to see the vet right away. The vet and her entire team were so calm and reassuring and really helped put my mind at ease. Not only did they examine and bandage him up in the gentlest way, but they saved me a ton of money by insisting that despite my anxiety he was going to be fine and didn't need all the additional testing I was expecting and ready to pay for. I couldn't believe how honest and caring they were, and they were completely right - he healed up perfectly and is a very healthy and happy dog. I will never take my dogs anywhere else!

PRVC has literally changed our lives. With the adoption of both of our dogs who were bound for death; Charlie, our happy little chihuahua who had heart worms so bad when he was plucked off the road and brought into the clinic that it was a miracle he was still alive let alone wagging his tail and smiling at you; and big Frank, who spent days on IV on foster mom and PRVC staff Amy's lap while trying to survive parvo mere weeks into his life. Nursed back to life by the loving hearts and talented minds and hands of the PRVC staff, these boys found their forever homes (for their paws and hearts) with myself and my wife. We shall be eternally greatful to the amazing doctors, techs and administrators at Park Road Vet Clinic for changing our lives and saving those of two other eternally grateful souls -- Matt, Cristal, Charlie and Frank Muscat

AMAZING! AMAZING!! Is the only word for this clinic! Kind of a funny story I was calling around to vets and thought they were beatties so showed up to beatties as my dog needed to be spayed and they had no idea who i was so I called the number and realized I was totally at the wrong vets( so thankful I was by the way lol) I spoke to Jackie and she was so good to me everytime I called...yes I called multiple times and it still didn't click lol! As soon as I got there it was such a calming and welcoming feeling. I was so worried about my energy with my girl as she was taken out of a bad situation and just unsure of how she would react and only had her for a short time but there was something about park road clinic that reassured me she was in good hands from the moment i walked in. Every single one of the ladies took there time with my girl got on floor to reassure my girl that it was all good. There was also a male client who came in while I was checking her in (She is terrified of men me and my husband believe she was abused by one took her alot of time to come around to him) she was getting extremely nervous and the girls knew about my situation and took me to a room immediately. Did the usual check in stuff and when it was time to take her to a kennel I thought for sure they were just gonna take her back ummm....NO they let me come with her and avoid other dogs as they were barking and making her nervous so sarah then took us to another kennel that was on it's own thankfully that was available. I was able to get into the kennel to make her feel comfortable and she was fine....by far THE BEST clinic I have EVER been to I highly recommend to anyone and if you have a rescue with no history on them this clinic is where you want to be!!! Trust me.

I was so pleased with the service I received at the vet today. I got an appointment the day before and I was very promptly taken back with my cat when I arrived. Both receptionists, Rachel and Sandy, were very friendly and helpful; both over the phone and in clinic. The waiting area even had kittens to snuggle! When I went back with my cat to the examination room he was able to roam around the room while we waited for Stacey, the assistant to come in and ask a few questions. The wait was very short. She was very good with my cat and very friendly with me. Then the vet came in, Rhonda. Both Stacey and Rhonda sat on the floor with my cat instead of on the chairs in the room. Before doing anything I was asked if I wanted a quote, to make sure I was fully aware with how much everything would cost. They clipped his nails without me asking and without charging me. I got a call the next day asking how the first few rounds of medicine had gone and how my cat was doing. They promised to call me again in a week. The staff was amazing from beginning to end. I was so thrilled to find that the clinic that was the cheapest of all the clinics I called was also an amazing clinic. I couldn't give them a stronger recommendation. They made taking my pet to the vet an enjoyable part of my day.

I gave them my paperwork and the front desk staff member complained that there was a lot of it. Two weeks later I came in for an appointment and they said they never got the paperwork. After I said the girl complained that there were almost 20 pages for my multiple pets, and asked them repeatedly to look for it, they found it unscanned in their physical inbox. I understand that mistakes happen and gave them one more chance. I asked them to call me BEFORE my dog's next vaccine was due. They did not and I called them today and they said she was already due. I told them on the second meeting that I was disappointed with the service, and I had hoped they would do better on the third chance. I've had 3 interactions with them and all three were filled with errors on their part. I am taking my three pets elsewhere. If they can't handle the basics, they certainly wouldn't be able to handle anything complex or an emergency.

We have been going to Park Road Clinic for years and have always loved it there. I have never felt that I was being pressured into a service that I didn't need. In fact quite the opposite. I have actually taken my dog in for a new lump and was told nothing needed to be done because it was normal, but I was so worried I talked the vet into drawing up whatever was inside of the lump to be sure..and it was nothing! I was impressed. Not only were they knowledgeable enough to know it was normal, they didn't tell me I needed biopsies or any other expensive procedures like I'm sure some clinics would, but they still did what I asked of them to humor me more or less. More recently my dog was diagnosed with stones in his bladder and they did everything possible to dissolve the stones, but in the end he needed an operation that was out of my budget at the moment. Because of Park Road Vet and their OSCAR fund we were able to afford the operation and my dog is now so much happier and no longer in pain! I would recommend them to anyone! My dog is like a child to me and I would only take him to the best and that's what Park Road is!

All of the Vets and staff members at Park Road North are Fantastic! They welcome both people and pets as if they are family, every single time you visit. I have a dog that's large, powerful and to some intimidating, this does not stop this team from providing him with the care that he needs or performing all of their testing to check his health. All staff are very knowledgeable and willing to answer any question you may have. I could not imagine taking my loved ones any where else. If this doesn't prove how great this vet clinic is I don't know what will, in my house we can not say the words "Vet or Dr. Gough" within ear shot of our dog or he will run to the door with his leash and sit until he gets to go visit his favorite clinic.
