We suddenly had to put our beloved bullmastiff Zeus to sleep. Despite being told the procedure could be done outside, as our party consisted of 4, the clinic vet chickened out, scared of a brightly lite and very empty parking lot. I'm very disappointed in the lack of transparency and professionalism in society's new normal. I hope very much, this vet finds themselves outside a dying family members hospital, unable to see their life leave this mortal coil.

I received great care in the middle of the night for my Persian cat when I discovered him very ill. The dr was very thorough and friendly the technicians were caring and loving and took care of my kitty during all of the tests and procedures Prices are why you would expect for emergency care; running a clinic has big overhead and staffing that clinic through the night is not inexpensive. I dont mind paying for great care!

I had a senior chocolate lab in distress last night. The tech who answered my call when I was in the parking lot was rude and dismissive. I could see her making a face as I was trying to describe what was wrong with my dog. I get people have terrible nights, but I didn't know if I was saying goodbye to my dog last night. I found a vet in Burlington who listens was kind, compassionate and sent me home with antibiotics. My boy is recovering, and no thanks to Brant-Norfolk, Hamilton people, save your gas, go to Burlington!

I cannot thank the staff and doctors here enough for taking care of our Freya. I have severe anxiety and they told me to call whenever I needed to check in on her. The doctor who spoke with us the following morning went through everything with us and answered my long list of questions I had. Honestly, thank you for taking care of our baby and letting her come back home healthy. The care you provided during and after has been superb and we can't thank you enough for all you did for us and our girl.

They were really nice and helped both me and my kitty keep calm when I was panicked over him and he was just panicked in general. It's a small place but they take you in relatively quickly and then you can sit in the room with your cat while you wait so it's not too stressful on them. The vets there are really nice and gave me lots of different options and told me that while they were the vet, I was the pet owner, and if I wanted to try something that they would have suggested against they were totally fine with me doing so. Ended up doing what they suggested anyway because they *are* the experts but it was nice to hear that they take our opinions into account as well!

Yesterday (Sunday) my yorkie ate a poisonous plant leaf and was foaming, choking, blood coming out of his mouth. As the emergency vet that my regular vet is affiliated with, I called them frantically and was told I couldn't bring him in because they were full and too busy to help him. I had to rush to Hamilton from Paris so afraid he would die on the way. There is no worse feeling than being left in the lurch with a sick little baby.

Our dog was an emergency case and was treated like the vet had no experience at all!! The vet gave our dog Cerenia and pain meds which caused our dog to die a few hours after we brought him in! Why did Dr. RIED not give our dog an IV!? Finn was so weak his little body could not handle the meds he got so much worse so fast and died at home we brought him back to this emergency vet to check his vitals and he was pronounced dead. ???? I know without proper blood work and an xray we will never know what the true COD was but I gave the vet a list of so many symptoms and our dogs belly was swollen. They must've known an anti nausea drug was the wrong drug to treat a possible gastrointestinal disorder. I'm very upset with the lack of professionalism in a time when our fur baby was so sick and money seemed to be this hospitals main concern. In retrospect, wish we'd never taken our dog here. I may be grief-stricken but I know when the time comes an the emergency after hours vet can't tell your dog is dying then they shouldn't be a D.V.M. Keep the 200$ -you failed us.

They also said that if I chose not to have one or more of them done that they could treat her based on symptoms only. I always had options with them. I would like to comment on an experience we had at a very difficult time. Our cat fell ill overnight and we made every attempt to get him to a vet in our home town but there was no space for him. We contacted brant-norfolk vet clinic because they were open 24 hours and they were able to see him. The difficult part was that we had to put our boy down. It was one of the hardest desions my husband and I had ever made. He was a big part of our family and we miss him everyday. We would like to thank everyone especially the Dr on July 26th 10:00 pm. My friend and I took her dog to this clinic for an eye infection. We called them and they asked if we could come at 7pm. We got there and were told it would be an hour wait. Once we finally got a room it was an extra hour wait. Now I understand that emergencies happen that could cause delays but we were not given any kind of information as to why it's taking so long. Once the vet actually showed up, he was scared of her dog who is a Rottweiler/German Sheppard puppy who was completely stressed out and scared from being stuck in a waiting room for an hour. Won't be going there again, very unprofessional.

My wife and I were fostering a kitten and was told she had a fracture that mended on it's own, second night we had her had to bring her in because she was bleeding from chewing on her leg, they took an x-ray banadaged her up and sent us on our way. Gave us no cone!! Following morning she had gotten her bandage off and had chewed again and was bleeding pretty bad. We officially adopted her on Wednesday and took her to our own vet today. Got more x-rays done and she never had a fracture!! The whole time it was a deformity and now her leg needs to be amputated. This whole time she's been living in pain, when if diagnosed properly this issue would have been resolved by now. Thank God we full on adopted her and got her into our own vet.

I recently had to take my cat, Mera here because she was having problems breathing and our regular vet was completely booked. I was a little hesitant at first after reading some reviews, but I seriously cannot thank everyone at the clinic and Dr. Tracy Brooke enough. They have a triage system, and since it was a serious emergency I was seen right away. They were incredibly helpful, empathetic, and genuinely cared about doing the best for Mera. I was given a breakdown of costs, given an explanation before anything was done, and given regular updates on how Mera was doing. Dr. Brooke showed me her x-rays, and very matter-of-factly, told me what she thought Mera's odds were and the best course of action. Sadly, I had to put her down that day - and I was completely heartbroken, but knowing that she was given the best care possible during her last moments made the awful experience a bit more bearable. If your pet needs urgent care, and I really hope it doesn't - it's good to know there are people here that can help you.

Tracy who looked at my cat I took in lacks compassion for pets and her concern is $$$ ...it's unfortunate when only resort for your pet is to take here for after hours. Not only was she rude and exempt of professionalism, she charged me for at home care, that i administer meds myself ?!?! She pushed for a $2000 surgery zeroing on your upset and worry for your pet. People like her we pet owners don't need in the vet field.

DO NOT GO HERE! They neglected my cat which resulted in him dying from hypothermia because they left him outside in -16C. What happens 12h later? They send the police to my door because they suspect animal cruelty!! The reason they did that was because I denied euthanasia that day. My cat was not in any pain and they just wanted to make some quick cash. I’m not the only one, look at the other comments!! They will kill your pet! Thieves, criminals, murderers, all in f the worst names belong to them! I reported them to the attorney general, police, RCMP...

Absolutely great place. Unfortunately we've had to go here on a few occasions. It is our recommended 24 hour clinic when our vet - Park road vet clinic is closed. We've only had to go here for emergency visits so that's why I say unfortunately. When it comes to the care and compassion when you have to go in at night or on a holiday Monday these folks are unmatched in our opinion.

Please, do not take your pet here. I took my cat back in July 2018, because it was after hours and only vet open. My belief of the veterinary had always been that they were for the good of your animals, but this was not the case here. I brought my 13 year old cat because he wasn’t breathing right. The first assumption had been that he was having a heart attack without any examinations and I was told in the first few mins I should put him down, by the veterinarian and nurse! They gave him some oxygen and then the nurse told me that they were unsure what was wrong exactly and couldn’t find out unless they did X-rays. But again the nurse said it was best to put him down now because X-rays are too strong and are fatal for cats having heart attacks. I was so confused and unsure, but because I was more concerned to get him well I said “if you’re telling me he’s going to die either way, I want to at least take the chance and see if he can servive the X-ray appose to a definite death.” After still being assured it was a bad idea, the nurse took him for an X-ray and he was in the same condition, not at all worse! While this was taking place I was told he would only live for 15-20 mins top! Then they shaved a part of his arm to insert some medicine. Still the veterinarian now insisted we put down my cat. I started crying because I really trusted the opinion of the veterinarian. I called my sister to come so we could see our family cat. They put us into a room and then she tried countless times to convince me to put him down. I did agree but then I felt like I couldn’t because he seemed to be doing everything opposite of what the veterinarian said would happen. He now was alive past an hour... and didn’t die during the X-ray. I then started having my character interrogated for not putting him down by the actual veterinarian! The veterinarian tried again to euthanize him but then I said no and actually put my hand to cover his arm (where they’d insert the needle) by that point she was livid and actually slammed the door! My sister then made it to the vet where the nurse was now telling us our cat would never walk again. My sister then asked to see the X-ray as the veterinarian did not show me and explained the ‘problem’. I’m no doctor but it seemed like she had no idea what she was talking about and it seemed like she couldn’t point to a specific problem. But still I was very vulnerable and naive as to the amount of trust I put in the staff (veterinarian and nurse). The nurse then came back with the tool that lets you hear the heart beat as she said we wouldn’t be able to hear his heart... but we could hear it perfectly and it seemed normal too! Then, he started to walk around the room after we had been told he’d never walk again, he had now been alive for 2-3 hours! But they put countless needles in him and he was woozy you could see, but still breathing the same. We wanted to bring him home but we’re told that if they did fix the problem now he would have to still come back within 2 weeks to a months time and be in the same position. So we then asked, cried and pleaded to take our cat home so he could die naturally at home instead of euthanizinh him but were told we were not allowed now to let him leave as it was ‘illegal’. So we were basically trapped in a euthanasia option only. Putting full trust in the vet and being placed in that position of not having any other option (not even a chance for a second opinion), although our cat beat every odd, we put him down. When we did, the veterinarians finger slid off the needle so she only inserted half the needle and then the other half a quick few seconds after. It was not smoothe at all and did NOT at all look painless as she said it’d be. If I could sue, I would. They should not be operating. This was a complete horror story and traumatic event. Looking back on vids I took of my cat to the vet, it seemed he was choking on something, perhaps fur/hair or string, yet they never thought to look/examin in his mouth. I didn’t either but that’s what I thought the vet was for. RIP :(

If I could give this place -100 stars, I would. Around October my 7 month old puppy became very ill, very quickly. It was during the after hours and my only option was to bring him here - as this is where I was sent (really wish I wasn't). My puppy lost all ability to walk, let alone stay awake. I brought him in here and they had taken a little less under $1000 from me, and did not do anything for him. The doctor called me in about an hour later and had told me that he is going into kidney failure and will never be able to walk again without re-constructive surgery. My frustration with this is that my puppy was sprinting around my backyard that morning, eating perfectly normal and using the washroom normally. Not only did the doctor miss a number of very important tests, he also caused me a great deal of emotional trauma. I left my puppy there for a few hours to be hooked up on IV fluids, in hopes that he may get better, (they also gave me an extra bag of fluids to "take with me" - even though they're not supposed to due to health and safety, but they did anyway) and at 7am I drove to the Oakville Mississauga emergency hospital. Once I arrived there, I found out within 1 hour that my puppy was sick with Leptospirosis. Once he was treated, and in the ICU for a few days he was back to normal. Eating, drinking, peeing, running, and playing. He does not need any kind of surgery, and the failure of his kidneys was due to the leptospiria bacteria that he had picked up. If you've taken the time to read this, I do advise that this clinic be your last option as all they did to me was take my money and gave me 0 answers, just more stress.

Our kitten was seen here this past Sunday. The staff was wonderful both on the phone before getting there and in person. The vet was very kind and reassuring. I have spoken afterhours with this clinic before. Once when we were camping and our dog became suddenly ill, the person actually used to work at a vet near to where we were camping, up north and was able to suggest where to go. Another time on new years eve when we weren't sure if we sound bring our dog in to be seen. Each time the staff have been amazing and full of knowledge. Not humane at all. A cat with a significant episode who all of a sudden couldn't use her back legs wasn't enough for this organization to take in on an emergency basis because they were only servicing their area. Not really focused on animal welfare....

Our Dog was critically ill. BNVC Was able to treat her in the middle of the night and stabilize her so that she could return to our home vet 36 hours later. They were willing and able to call or receive calls for updates often and this was very appreciated. They do not allow families inside which was difficult during Covid. The transfer to home vet went as I expected. The home vet was not prepared and did not really expect her to be coming. Still very much needing supportive care they wanted us to wait 2 1/2 hours which seemed difficult. BNVC closes at 8 am Monday so we didn’t have a choice but to pick her up and keep her in the car until the home vet could see her. This is our Ria three weeks later, home and doing amazing ! Thanks so much for ur critical care ❤️

My dog needed an emergency surgery for pyometra. I was quoted 4900-6500 in Hamilton which is the first place I took her. We had friends that had gone here so we decided to give it a try and the total was 2200. The vet Dr gagnon was tremendous and we felt completely comfortable with our dog in their hands. They were amazing with our pup! His face started randomly swelling (he likes to grab branches off the tree so we thought an abscess). He was not eating and yelping when he moved his head. They got us in fast when we called. It was at 9pm we went in. Vet saw us within 15mins. I loved how they had a blanket on the ground in the room. So our dog layed on that and was more comfortable. The vet then came in and god down on her knees to my dogs level to check him out which was amazing. As our dog is scared of vets after a bad experience with another vet as a puppy. They gave us antibiotics and was very reasonably priced for an after hours emergency apt. We did end up taking him to our regular vet to get pain meds when they were able to get us in next. He has made a full recovery and is doing GREAT!! Thank you Brant-Norfolk Vets for being so awesome with our boy!

This is an excellent clinic. The staff are professional and kind. We had to put our dog to sleep and they gave us all the options with the cost break down. There was no pressure to make a decision we weren't comfortable with and the vet was straight forward which I value when it comes to my pets care. There was a but if wait but that was expected and it was worth it for sure. The process was very smooth and they took great care in making sure our dog was comfortable in her last moments. I couldn't be more thankful for all that they did for us and our pup and I would gladly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for exemplary vet care for their pet(s). 5 stars! Had to take our diabetic cat in; was made to feel like I was a horrible person that didn't deserve to have an animal. Was only concerned about money (and they are hugely overpriced); wouldn't even let me put the carrier on the counter without giving my credit card. It turned out that our cat had gone into heart failure and our regular vet later assured us that not only was there nothing we could have done, but there were no signs that we had missed. My mom had a similar experience the one time she was unfortunate enough to have to use their services. I hope I am never desperate enough to have to go there again.

I called Saturday morning for an emergency with a dog, and was put on hold for 10mins talked to a lady and than was put on hold for another 10mins while someone else came on the phone had to explain everything again while trying to stress the emergency part. They tell me I have an appointment at 5, we call to get checked in and am told you are next in line and just a few mins till our turn....... cool. 40 mins later and three other animals go into the clinic, I call again to remind them we are outside waiting still "itll just be another min or so you are next in the queue. An hour later I call still waiting outside and just told casually next in line.... two hours after our vet appointment at five we still havent been seen, no phone calls from the vet informing us of when this wait will end. We flag down a nurse as she's getting someone else to pay, we ask her if she has any idea of how much longer and she juat shrugs saying thirty to forty mins its to hard to tell They say they are an emergency vet but apparently my emergency the pain my dog was in wasn't considered emergent by theses harpies

One of our regular vets, Dr. Meghan Goodrow, from Park Road Vet Clinic, was on duty and after having such a terrible experience at the other vet I could have hugged her. She was very understanding, patient and attentive to both us and our cat. Answered all my million panicked questions and after telling her our financial restrictions gave us the many different options. We have been back there twice (Dec 23/30); same cat rescued stray (so much for karma) and have had two different vets, Dr,.Heather McGowan and Dr. Scott Arnold, who were both just as amazing as Dr. Meghan Goodrow. Took him here earlier this week, they apparently DID NOT fix the problem, returned today with my mothers (less than 2 year old) cat and they demanded $2400, after paying $700 literally three days ago to FIX THIS. Then because we couldn't afford it, her cat was KILLED by these "animal lovers" and charged $400 more! ..absolutely pathetic, selfish, greedy, and INHUMANE people. The vet i can't remember her name was good to Dupree he was in too much pain to keep going. She explained how they would adminster the needle and she was so good with him!! If you asked me a year ago, i would gave given them five stars. All of our experiences had been great, the staff were nice and professional, and the service was fairly quick. However my last two expereinces have been terrible. In the summer we brought in my brother's dog because he ran into some rusty metal in the garden. The vet examined him, gave us some antibiotics and sent us home. He progtessively got worse throughout the day and then had to go to our regular vet once it was open. The dog was then reexamined and had to go into emergency surgery. The vet at the after hours had shaved the area around the wound, resulting in hair and dirt to enter into the wound. If we hadn't gone to our regular vet, the dog could be dead, Now tonight I had to bring my dog in to the after hours because while he was out for his nighttime pee, he split his nail in half. I didnt feel comfortable waiting until the morning to see our regular vet since his nail is bleeding and his quick is exposed. This has also happened in the past which has led to an infection. We waited an hour to get into a room since they were so busy. Then after waiting in the room for 15-20 minutes, we are told they need the room and it may be 2 hours until we are seen. At this point, it doesnt make sense for me to wait a total of at least 3 hours for something they can treat in 10 minues. I decided to leave because who knows how many more people would walk in the door while I am deemed not serious enough. We will be taking our dog to our regular vet in the morning who is more efficient and friendly. On a side note: at the same time we were at the clinic my aunt was there with her dog. She had an appointment at 9pm and was not seen until 10:30pm. She did not leave until 11:30pm. My aunt also mentioned that more people came into the clinic after we left needing the rooms. So we probably would have been waiting all night. The main issue with this clinic is not the ability of the people working. We have had great and terrible experiences with the doctors there. The main issue is that rhey are having to service too many dogs in the area for the size of the clinic. They only have three rooms for so many dogs. They need a bigger facility and more vets and vet techs working. I hope that I never have another emergency where I have to bring any of our family dogs to this clinic.

It has been over a month since we had to take our 14 year senior Border Collie in to this clinic. Early on a Sunday morning we called, explained how sick our boy was and had a 30 minute drive to the clinic. Dr. Reid came out to meet us and helped to bring him inside. Our dog had cancer and started having seizures the night before we had scheduled to have her euthanized with our regular vet clinic. Brant-Norfolk was honestly so compassionate and amazing from the time we called throughout the entire process. We were obviously in a very devastated state and they knew exactly how to handle the situation and us. We attended BNVC on Sunday after our girl Autumn become increasingly sick due to ongoing liver and gallbladder issues (as we understood it then). We had been waiting for an appointment with OVC since July 2021. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure an in person visit, and scheduled a video conference on October 5. Knowing that Autumn would not make it to that date, I called BNVC. From the moment we arrived, until we were referred to Toronto Animal Health Partners the next day, I knew that Autumn was receiving excellent care and was being supported through this terrible time. Even though our girl did not make it, the support, care, and information we received from BNVC made the situation much easier for us and for that we will be forever thankful.

Staff was nice , although result of visit was not a happy outcome as we had to have our cat (Precious) put down . Not happy with the restrictions of the clinic as laid out by our government. Only 1 person aloud in clinic to say our good byes to our loved pet . It was a bad day for most of patients who entered this clinic, as most of them never came out . Wait time was a hassle, but understood as they had to give all a chance to say their goodbyes.
