Grand Valley is the best veterinary service we have experienced as a military family. They are professional, personable, and thorough. They made us feel at ease and were very good with our cat, Callie and her health issues. When we had to make the difficult decision to end her life, Dr. Cary Johnson was compassionate, empathetic, informative and supportive. We couldn't have asked for a better support system. To our family, there is no alternative for veterinary care in Brandon.

A kitten was found on the side of the highway in the middle of no where with a broken leg, I took her in and tried to get her checked out so called and asked how to go about this situation & was told by a lady on the phone that I was not allowed to have her and had to take her to the pound cause technically I was stealing someone’s cat. I responded told her this is a kitten that was left on purpose why do I have to go leave her alone in a cage when I’m willing to pay her vet bills she told me I’m not allowed to keep her no matter what that it’s illegal and that I can only take her to the pound and if no one comes for her I can have her in 72 hrs and the pound would fix her up. I talked with human society after and this was completely bs.

My dog was sick, not eating & very weak. I took her here & I believe it was Mr. Joe Gray, one of the owners, who looked at her. He said she was okay & sold me what he said was some healhy dog food and to take her home and don't worry. My poor pet passed away shortly after that.

The clinic was available to me to bring my dog in on emergency while my vet was out of town and unable to make it back. Upon arrival I was greeted and brought into a room. Tests where done and I was optimistic everything would be okay. They vet returned with very positive news raising me up then very quickly turned to say I recommend you put him down. During this time they went to leave the room to give me a minute to process. I was hysterical at the moment and 5 minutes later there was a banging on the window and it was the vet who had locked herself out. After getting in she walks into the room when I was noticeably upset informing me she wanted to save her groceries. After the dog had passed I had constant are you ready to say goodbye. Lastly other vets will allow you to come back another day to pay for euthanasia as your pet has just passed and its really hard for lot of people this was not the case. I asked if my friend who accompanied me could do it but insisted no you have to as more paperwork proceeded. I thought maybe I was exaggerating the bad experience as I was so distraught but when I discussed it with my friend she agreed the professionalism shown by the vet at grand valley animal clinic lacked. 2 stars where given due to their availability, and the veterinarian assistant who was very warm and comforting during the hour I was there.

Usually fast and friendly service. Had the extremely sad experience of torsion in our boxer girl in the middle of the night. Was met asap, treated with respect and great compassion. We weren't able to save her but the professional effort and manner of attempt will always be remembered and appreciated. These vets, in my opinion, still know why they are there. Breanne Fredette (vet) & staff are super kind and accommodating! My first appointment was actually an 'emergency', I was so worried about my lil pups eating and that he lost some weight. They found a time that I could bring him in that night, and even though they were very busy, they took so much care to ensure that my pup was okay and that my questions were answered (and I had a lot, lol). They've even followed up on the phone and offered to check in again some time in the week to make sure all is still well.

I am a first time dog owner and my 4 month old pitbull pup, Chico, was diagnosed with the parvovirus last month, he was very lucky to come home after a couple days of IV treatments. When he left me he wasn't eating or drinking, had a fever and was very lethargic, but when I got him back he was so full of life! I had a very emotional day and night the first day he went into isolation, but Grand Valley Animal Clinic took the best care of my furbaby, and he was back to his old self in no time! I am forever grateful for the help he received, and we will certainly be back! :')

Unfriendly staff I was on time for my dogs appointment and the person who I spoke to on the phone said that the appointment before my dog is finishing soon and I'm next and someone will come get my dog shortly and they will phone me when someone is coming for my dog I told them I was outside and the pets that showed up after me went in right away I was waiting for 40min and they phone me 40min later the way I've been treated I will never take my dog back I'm very unhappy with them

I mean you call 3 times and talk to 3 different ppl and always get 3 different answers.. also the one girl Sherri, I believe is her name is not a friendly person most of the time. Absolutely wonderful experience here. The vet technician Jordan answered all of our questions concerning our new puppy. The vet was professional, efficient, and informative. All of the staff were so interested in our puppy and his back story. They even said we could bring our puppy in anytime to socialize with humans and other dogs and gave him plenty of free treats during his visit. Their kindness and passion for animals is evident. Would recommend to any pet owners in the area

Hello! I am very very pleased with GVAC, the staff, all the techs, vets, etc. When I have had to come in on short notice and haven;t been able see Dr. Joe, I have been very impressed with the other vets I have seen on a couple different occasions. My pets are like my children and they are all getting up there in age and this is a hard transition for me emotionally I am finding. At the same time this is happening , I have switched to GVAC b/c of our previous vet retiring , and he HIGHLY recommended GVAC and Dr. Joe, and boy was he right!! Each visit I am more and more impressed with GVAC, the technology, knowledge of staff, vets, techs, etc. I know I am annoying 'parent' b/c I worry beyond extreme about my pets, and sometimes make excessive annoying calls to girls at the front, but they have been very accommodating and understanding, which is awesome! And like I mentioned before, the fact that my pets are all becoming seniors kinda around the same time, is really tough for me. Dr Joe taking the time with me and Lloyd, explaining things very well, answering all my crazy questions, and being very understanding and compassionate, etc, at my apts has really helped put my mind at ease. He even almost makes me believe he doesn't think I'm nuts! Haha! Also, I want you guys all to know, the reason I come with either my brother or my dad to my apts is b/c I feel better with them there, its totally nothing to do with you guys. I get very worried and anxious myself when I need to take one of the kids in and so I don't miss anything that's said or forget to tell Dr Joe or whoever something, I just feel better with one of them there. I could write a lot more great things about you guys, but i dont want to bore ya! So, to make a long story short, I AM SO HAPPY AND PLEASED WITH GVAC!!! If there were more starts to give, I'd give 'em! Thanks so much for everything!

Called to see if I could get my dog in for an emergency appointment, everywhere else was closed at the time. My dog was stung by a bee and started swelling up quickly. Grand valley told me to go to Winnipeg (I am in the Brandon area) because we are not current clients. If this is who you trust your pets with I am concerned for your pets. Very poor service and concern for the welfare of their clients.

We had a sick little dog who was at her end. We had appt to euthanize Thursday am with her regular doctor. She was suffering Tuesday evening so we called emergency and meet doctor that was on call. He took us to a room - we asked for a nicer room. He took us to a nicer room. We could tell he had no compassion at all. He told us it was going to be quick than tried sticking the needle in each of our dog’s front legs and could not get a vein. He seemed very frustrated that this wasn’t going as quick as he would like it to. He left room came back and said he called a tech to come down to help him. It would be 10 minutes. He left room for a little while came back and took our dog saying this had to be done in the back with tech. We waited and waited and he wasn’t coming back with our dog so I jumped up and went looking for her and found her in a kennel in the back / I grabbed her out of kennel telling doctor he is not touching my @&!’g dog and ran out front door. There was no compassion at all here -he just was in a rush to get it done. I called to tell regular doctor what happened-he called me back 2 weeks later to chastise me for swearing at his colleague- Wow - that’s what he saw was wrong in this situation. We had our beloved girl euthanized by a different vet with compassion and she was given a sedative first and died in our arms at home peacefully. We felt guilt for putting our dog through that on call doctor but we have put that guilt on grand valley. Be careful of this place.

The best veterinary clinic in Brandon. Despite the business of covid they still provided quick and compassionate care to my guinea pigs and to my rabbit. The receptionists, vet assistants and the vets are all so friendly and helpful. Dr vicky sempers treated my Guinea Pigs pneumonia on short notice and he recovered wonderfully. Pleasant atmosphere all around. Glad to have such great veterinary care for my pets!

We recently adopted a large breed dog and have been having a lot of issues with him displaying aggression to people, especially in small spaces. As you can imagine the vets is not a happy place for him. The first time we went here we didn’t have a great experience, to no fault of the vets, but the second time we lucked out with Dr. Fredette. She was so wonderful with our boy, she took the time to approach him backwards and because he was wearing a muzzle she felt safe to let him off leash. He let her pet him and feed him treats, of course he was still scared, but to have someone take that much care in handling him could’ve brought me to tears. He is around 75lbs and I can’t imagine it’s comforting to have him barking and lunging at you, but even so she stayed calm and let him set the pace. I believe she has certification as a Fear Free Professional which is amazing for us and for any other animals with behavioural issues! It is such a relief to know that Zuko will be able to continue seeing her there. I hope more vets in Brandon will get this qualification and continue learning how to respond to scared and stressed animals! The vet technicians have also all been lovely and very understanding to our guy. He’s a great dog but needs that extra care!

Do not go to this vet clinic. My gecko lost her eye because of their incompetence. They nearly overdosed my bearded dragon and would have killed her if I had not checked the dosage. They deafened my childhood cat. If you own any exotic animals take them to Winnipeg, theyre likely going to send you there anyway. I am disgusted by you Grand Valley.

I have been using Grand Valley Animal Clinic. Recently Frankie got sick and I was able to him into the vet's immediately. Unfortunately I had to do what was in Frankies best interests and had to have him put to sleep. Peggy was a god send. I was so upset about losing him so close to two other medical events that I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Peggy made all of the final decisions and arranging to have Frankie cremated and she picked out his urn. This clinic will forever be the one where I take all of my fur babies because I know I can trust that they will treat my fur baby as if it was their own.

My dog recently was very sick and passed away. We took her to the vet on the Thursday as she was having a hard time breathing and the vet we saw was very rude. She kept telling us if I perform this test it is going to cost you more money and announced what it was going to be very smugly. It didn’t matter the cost we were trying to save our little dog. She did all the test and said her lungs were filled with fluid but try this medication. Well needless to say she only had one dose of each med and barely made it 12 hrs from when we left the vet clinic. She also said that she had stayed long enough for our dog and couldn’t wait for me to get there to ask questions as I was just leaving work and was there within 10 minutes. Even though the clinic was open for another 3 hours. Even though the receptionist staff were very good the vet was horrible and I will never forget how she treated us and our dog
