Disgusting practice forcing me to send my dog in to be seen for an extra $75 for the same thing she was prescribed a year ago(ear infection) I would have no problem if it was anything else. This is absurd to charge me extra for something and risk my dogs life, because they will not give me the medication unless she is seen. Absolutely appalling and you are risking my dogs life!

I had a terrible experience at the Peel Animal Hospital - the vet was more concerned over how much money he could make vs the well being and care of the animal. My experience since changing to North Park Veterinary Hospital has been nothing but amazing. If your looking for a vet that cares about your animal, this is the place for you. If your looking for a vet that explains everything that they are doing before doing so - along with sharing all related costs in advance and providing options were possible - this is the place for you. Front line staff are just as well qualified, professional and courteous. Dr Naqi and team, we can't thank you enough for looking after our cat Daisy. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Took my cat in for some blood work which was incredibly stressful for him as is. Worst part is they called me back the next day telling me they didn't take enough blood the first time to run proper exams and that I needed to bring him in AGAIN to get some MORE blood taken out. This place is so unprofessional, nobody here knows how to do their job. Moving to another vet ASAP

We took our cat to North Park Veterinary Hospital. We were able to get an appointment for the same day which was great. They really took their time talking to us. We didn't feel rushed at all. They were so personable. Never made us feel like they wanted our money, but more wanted to make sure our cat was ok. We also received a friendly follow up phone call the next morning, checking up on our cat. That is the first time that a vet has taken the time to do that. I would strongly suggest this establishment. As we were given amazing customer service.

Worst vet ever . All they care about milking money out of vulnerable clients. They don't treat your pet Iike a thing. No sympathy and can never figure out what's wrong with your pet. My dog was puking and crying and I paid 1100 in x-rays and bunch of tests that were not required and they could still not figure out. If you ask you need your reports for 2nd opinion they give you a hard time with reports.. they are worst than anything and should be closed for good .. greedy bunch for a few dollars and will kill.your pet

Went here for the first time since my usual vet was temporarily closed and I was so impressed with the service the doctor provided me. Brought in my dog as he ate some goose poop and wasn't acting like himself for a few days. The doctor provided my canine with some medications to take and was very thorough in explaining the causes of his symptoms. Gave me multiple options between taking medication and doing full examinations to identify the issues. I have never had an experience like this with any of the three vets I have gone too and I will definitely be switching her to my pet's main vet. She also had a student doctor under her wing and he was just as helpful in getting my dog calm for his examination. I know that he is in great hands I hope others can also relate!

Afzal - Recommend not booking appointments with him Very POOR mannered doctor. V. rude. Should be reported. It is vital for the doctor to make the patient feel at ease - dragged my 4.5lbs chihuahua by the collar (I made Afzal aware he had knee issues. Why would you not simply coax the dog towards you or ask me to direct him towards you? V. Aggressive move. ) - failed to ask for my dog's name - did not acquaint himself with my dog (poor clinical skills) - ill skilled (even after 3 attempts could not draw blood) - I acknowledge this can be difficult and his blood pressure might have been low, but it was Afzal's reaction and handling of the situation that was disturbing. His rude comments, lack of care. Disgusting. This doctor is not a facilitator. No awareness or care of patient's perspective. His direct comment, "This is normal for me" First off 1) Practice your technique so you don't need to puncture the patient repeatedly. That is not normal. It should be rare if you are practiced and skilled. 2) This isn't about you, this is about your patient and how they feel. This is what patient care is all about. This is your profession. After some years it might seem repetitive, but this is why its pertinent that you ensure your patients are comfortable because they are not accustomed to this on a daily basis. - genuinely felt his forelimbs were being hyperextended, very harsh - I expressed concern and instead of facilitating the situation by offering suggestions, he suggested I leave. Not good at problem solving, either, clearly. A skilled individual might have proposed that we book a secondary appointment since it did not go well today. There was no desire to cooperate. - I was visibly distressed, but empathy is not in this man's vocabulary. I contacted my primary Vet and her team was shocked that he failed to even get to know the dog since it was our first visit. My primary vet has decided to make a house call to visit my dog after hearing about this incident. I will never again visit this doctor. Will advocate others to not go to see Dr. Afzal Wish I recorded this session to submit/add to the report I want to send to the counsel. Side note: the Vet Techs were very nice, used appropriate cues with my dog, very empathic. Good manners, over all. Thank you for that ladies.

You will be sacrificing your pet's health and safety because they have no idea what they are doing. Especially during COVID-19, do not go here because you have no idea what they are doing when they take your pet inside. The assistant had to put me on hold 3 times because my dog had ticks and bites and the assistant could not find the report that proved the female doctor had given my dog the Revolution Dose for the prevention of Ticks exactly a month ago, despite me paying for the medication and service. They failed to let me know of the other medications that exist and could better protect my dog, and rather tried to blame me because I trusted the recommendation of the vet (the one who is the expert and with the license while I'm a new pet owner) and I told them that they can give my dog the medication that is the safest and the best. If you want to go here despite all the bad reviews, make sure you are there to monitor your pet and see how they handle your pet. The female doctor knows nothing and the student assistants seem more knowledgable about symptoms and provide better support - if only the female doctor would listen to their advice. I don't blame the assistants at all because the doctors boss them around and expect the most from them and although they need the work experience, be prepared to have your dog be experimented on and suffer pain because of them. The female doctor does not listen to any concerns you have as a parent and will assign blame to you if she does something incorrectly (can't give a vaccination properly and will tell her to hold the pet tighter and be rougher, will call you back throughout the day and give you a different answer to your simple question every time). It is very questionable if she even has a license or is being paid less because Dr.Afsal is busy working at 2 different locations. Can't say anything about Dr.Afsal because the female doctor seems to be the only one available to inflict all the harm. I didn't pay any attention to the price because my pet's wellbeing was the most important thing, but despite being a customer that paid without any complaints, the manner in which they handle your pet is heartbreaking and definitely unjust. Based on their responses to all the other bad reviews, they can't seem to find the "file" of that particular dog or parent. Here is mine: Canine, Name: Casper Arslan, Age: 1 year and 4 months, Breed: Maltese. Even if they find a way to question the legitimacy of this review, as a pet owner and customer, please keep it at the back of your mind that when you go here, no matter how healthy or ill your pet is, none of his/her needs will be met and you will put your pet's wellbeing at greater risk. Please feel free to contact me for further information and details of every terrible incident I had or witnessed here and only felt peace of mind after transferring my pet to another vet. My sympathies are for all the other pets and the pet owners who have left bad reviews because after experiencing this myself, it truly makes it worse that they'd rather protect their flawed reputation than to validate the concerns of pet owners and undergo a serious review for all the grave repercussions of their misdoings.

If I could give them no stars I would. This is the last straw in a list of less than satisfactory experiences with this clinic. It feels as though all they care about is their bottom line. The well-being and health of the animals they supposedly care for comes second. Just got out of a pre op appointment with the lame excuse of a doctor, Dr. Afzal. The sheer lack of empathy and understanding astounded me. Apart from discovering new, additional costs like the CT scan (1 week before the scheduled surgery), I am apparently also not allowed to contact the surgeon nor am I allowed to be with my dog until the surgeon gets there. protocol aside, this whole process is shady. I don’t trust these vets as far as I can throw them! Animal owners BEWARE! The only saving grace for this clinic is the wonderful front desk staff. They truly love dogs and I wish they could be at another, better clinic because honestly the vets at this clinic don’t deserve them!

My labrador has had many leg issues due to a fractured leg during puppyhood and all they want to ever do is "try this medication, try that medication, do this test, pay for this, now do this" It's always been a never ending cycle here. I took him to Mississauga Oakville Vet and they were so careful with the amount of medications to give and the number of x-rays being done and they show how much they care about the dog's wellbeing. So after being fed up with this, I go 60 km out of my way to take my dog to Oakville constantly and PAY MORE for better care. My partner and I were unavailable to pick up his next round of medications from Oakville so we asked them to fax the prescription over to North Park vet as it's more convenient for my mother to pick up since she doesnt drive on the highway. Once they received the fax they called to say it would take 5 days, I told them that's not ok.. I don't need you guys to order it as it's a very common prescription found at Shoppers Drug Mart or Costco. All I need is for my mom to pick up that piece of paper faxed to you. They decided to tack on a PRESCRIPTION FEE of 25$. I refuse to ever take my dog back. My dog is happier going to Oakville in a long car ride than he is 5 min away at this place.

I have nothing but great things to say about this clinic. The staff and vets are compassionate, understanding and honest. Recently, we had to put our 17 year old maltipoo down. It was the hardest decision to make but the staff was so compassionate. One staff member, Jayme, stood out to me the most. She had tears in her eyes when we had to come in to put the dog to rest. As a dog owner, this shows that she is not just "doing her job" , but rather treating each animal with the care and attention they deserve. On other occasions, I had witnessed the interactions Jayme had with other pets and pet owners. She is truly amazing and I hope she stays with the clinic for a very long time. I have to commend Dr Afzal and the rest of his staff as well for their patience, understanding, and for their wonderful service. We recently got a new pup and we wouldn't bring her anywhere else.

Not sure.... the new female vet promise me a huge discount because it was the first time I took my puppy there. It ended up costing me more than was quoted on the phone. They were wanting me to bring the puppy in 3 months in a row to re vaccinate. They wanted to redo all his vaccinations Plus for 3 months in a row they wanted to deworm him. I have spoken to another vet since then and they are full of beans. The male vet there used to be quite good. But I won't be going back because of this female vet looking for extra money. A great way to lose all your business

Worst place ever. Truly a money grab. My poor cat was in serious condition when I took her to this place, instead of the so called doctor advising me of taking her to the other hospital which was open 24/7, he took me to a room and racked up the bill and quoted me $986.00. I said to him I don’t have that kind of money and he used my pets life against me. After one hour of treatment and almost a thousand dollars later he advised me to take her to the other vet where my bengal kitten died on the way to the other place. Please please keep your beloved pets away from this place. If it wasn’t for this greedy veterinarian, my kitten would have been alive. :( i wish I could get a lawyer and go after this so called doctor.

I have been going to this place for years. However I will stop and find a new vet. His prices have become too high and you spend half of your visit listening to an upsell. He likes to park his $300,000 Mercedes right out front and completely believes it is the customers job to pay for it

The people at this vet clinic actually care about your pets/animals. We called as our puppy got a fishing lure in thru her lip and into her gum. We asked an emergency clinic who was starting at $1500+ for emergency service. North park was able to locate and bring. A vet in to have this removed for 1/5th the price and minimal waiting time. Many vets exercise extortinary pricing as most pet owners will pay anything to get thier pets better. North park cares about getting the animal back into health with pricing being secondary. I am extremely disappointed in this veterinary clinic. My dog presented with an irritated eye, along with loss of fur in patches around his body. I brought him to this vet for treatment which was the worst mistake I could have made for my pets health. The vet told me that my dog would be experiencing pain and irritation so he must be prescribed gabapentin, an oral antibiotic, and medications for stomach irritation. I asked the vet why such a large regimen of medications was necessary to treat an eye irritation and loss of hair. She explained multiple reasons these medications were necessary. I proceeded to trust her and buy the medications. After a couple hours of thought, I decided to take my dog for a second opinion. Another veterinarian informed me that none of those medications were necessary for treating my dog and a simple change in diet, and a steroid cream would take care his irritation. The other vet was correct and his irritation has improved tremendously. I called to inform North Park Vet of my experience with them, the owner of the clinic (original vet) told me that I must terminate my file because he will not be able to treat my dog again without bias. Clearly his ego was more important to him than ethically practicing veterinary medicine. I was also told that the only way to receive a refund was to drive to the clinic and receive it over a point of sale machine. After driving to their clinic I was told that their mobile POS machine was unable to process refunds and I would need to give them my card over the phone to receive the refund (This occurred during a Covid-19 related lock down). This meant that I had to drive to the clinic to receive a refund that had to be processed over the phone. DO NOT COME TO THIS CLINIC. For your pets best interest, do not bring these money hungry veterinarians business!

If you care about your pet please do not go here! They misdiagnosed my cats blood report and didnt even give me a proper explanation of what was wrong with the blood report. I had to get my cat neutered and asked if it was dangerous and the Dr told me there's 1 in 100 chances of my cat dying. I went to another vet and they told me my cats blood report was completely normal and that neutering a cat is one of the easiest and safest surgeries. The Dr at north park gave me no sense of assurance that everything would go well instead she scared me and triggered my anxiety. This place is so unprofessional and they don't know what they're doing. Do not go here if you love your pet and want it to live a long life. I will definitely report this vet.

It's OK. They can't handle my cat. I've been to other vets and they do much better. One my visit, my cat was being very defensive, the man comes out with a broom and gloves passed his elbows as if going in for a lion. The assistant ladies do better than the vet. They're always busy, make sure you call well ahead for an appointment. Good thing is they're open Saturdays.

I have been bringing my Boston terrier here since she was a pup and she's always been so excited to go visit (seriously). The techs are so friendly, welcoming and compassionate and the vet is just the same. My dog gets a red carpet welcoming and the treatment to match. Maevi (my dog) broke her leg, got operated on and recovered with the help of the doctor and his colleagues. She was never scared to go for her weekly visits and she healed so well, despite it being a complicated break. I've called soooo many times to just get advice, and they will spend as long as it takes, even if I don't plan on going in. When I do need that last minute appt, they always squeeze me in and still, never rush it. The end result, is I have a healthy and happy pup.. I would genuinely recommend North Park to any animal owner.

Great staff, they were able to take me right away when when my fur baby got hurt and my vet couldn't fit me in, and they fixed her up in no time. The staff followed up with me the next day to see how she was and I have been in just for a wound check twice with no extra fee. I am considering switching all my pets here.

If I could give zero I would. Worst Vet ever. Please stay away for your pet's own good. They ran tests on my dog couldn't find anything. Then I asked for my pets records for a second option and they were never sending me MY information that I paid for .. they said they needed 24 hour notice to be able to send my information. I never had to wait 24 hours for records that are mine. They are lazy and unprofessional. PLEASE DONT GO THERE. I WILL NOT RECOMMED THIS PLACE!!! WASTE OF TIME!! STAY AWAY !!!! I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE I KNOW AND WORK WITH KNOWS NOT TO GO HERE.. I hope they shut this place down... please please for your pets and your own health .. STAY AWAY!!!

my dog has been coming to this horrible place for five years. it is extremely pricey. Then we got another dog and by the time he was old enough to get neutered we took him back here and they gave us a very expensive surgery so we looked around and i found a different place that does laser surgery and took him there. After the laser surgery we found out that north park vet lied to us about doing laser on my older dog when neutering him. Instead of laser (which is what we asked for) he used a knife which explained why he had to get stitches, was in pain, needed to wear a cone around his neck. DO NOT recommend.

What can I saw about this clinic and their staff? No words can explain how wonderful these people are. In reference to the review about greeting customers, sure sometimes one may not smile, however have you been to any Specialist of human care? The most highly trained, educated and qualified Specialists I have been to, have never smiled or been personable. They have terrible bed side manners, and regard me as a cadaver, quickly trying to get me in and out of the office. So they don't smile at you all the time! Does that or has that compromised the level of care they have given your pet? I'm sure not! My dog had to go for surgery to have a cancerous tumour removed, we went to an emergency hospital in Oakville they were charging absurd absurd amounts of money. We were willing to pay that money but when we came back to this Clinic, this vet, he charged a fraction of the surgery cost and did the exact same procedure. Furthermore we had to go back a couple times for care in reference to that surgery and he didn't charge us anything. This doctor, these doctors, the staff, in this clinic are top-quality professionals who actually care about the Pats and not just about making money. Anyone who goes here will have their pet taken care of, loved, and sent home happy healthy and safe. Thank you to this clinic for saving my dog and ensuring that he lives a long life, and keeps my sanity while doing so. Thank you to this wonderful clinic. Thank you!

Front line staffing (office) are highly friendly and informative, have never had an issue once (ensure you ask what you are paying for). They also had this really fat cat (Gunther) great cat, his fatness makes me laugh.

Hello I took my rabbit here once before and everything was great. I came back for a spay which was super expensive. The vet never instructed me to get a cone. The rabbit bit out a stitch. I returned for a staple. The vet told me "this is the first time in twenty years that a rabbit has bit out its stiches." I asked him if he's lying. He said no. I asked him why he didn't give me a cone. He goes why should I give you a cone out of my pocket. He charged me just shy of 500 dollars for the spay. With medicine as well. He's rude. He didn't even look me in the eye. He told me to go to pet stores for a cone after he did the staple. It's impossible to find a rabbit size cone. If you offer this service of rabbit spaying, and charge an extravagant price I think you should offer a cone as well. It was just more suffering for the animal. With all that and the veterinarians rude mannerisms ill go elsewhere in the future.

I will not lie, this place is ridiculous and horrible and I am so saddened. I brought my pet in and the Dr gave him a wrong diagnosis with wrong medication. I had to put him down weeks later. The space in between I could've done something to save his poor life. The Dr was rude when I told him and bluntly refused to give any money back ( not that this was the issue but mind you I am not rich to just give my money away), or did not apologize. My pet is no longer suffering and I will never come back here. I hate you people. Stop getting your information off of google and be actual doctors to our pets.

North Park has a wonderful staff of veteran airy assistants however, I am not pleased with their doctors. Very disappointed. I have been coming to North Park ever since I had gotten my husky, who is now 7 years old. I recently started to come here often bringing my cat who I recently got & now is a year old. I was told by blood work that my cat may potentially have crystals & that he would have to get on a specific diet. But I didn’t get much detail. I was told to come in for another blood sample, but then was told by another doctor that they don’t need it after my cat got the blood work done. Then another doctor proceeded to tell me what was wrong which made me more confused because I was reviecing two different statements on my cat’s health. I was told to keep him on the kitten development diet and come back when he turns a year. I was considering coming back for the checkup but decided to go some place else. I asked north park to send a fax to my new vet which they did. However, they did not send the actual blood work documents just the blood work notes. So my new vet called twice to obtain the documents & north park still hadn’t given the documents. I had to call myself & get them to send the documents on the day of my appointment at the new vet. I was told by my vet that my cat could’ve avoided his health condition at 6 months of age. & also that at 6 months that his levels that were seen in the blood work could of been high due to the fact that he’s still young. I was also told the cat diet that he is on is not what he should be eating & wouldn’t be the best to help with his condition. I love my cat very much & can not understand how a place that is suppose to help our furry family members be so greedy for money. They have lovely staff but I now just feel that is all a show to hide the horrible medical care that is provided. Please do not go here & I really recommend you to find a better vet that will help & love your furry friend as much as you love them.

Recently I lost my beloved dog. It was a heartbreaking experience. When this happened I lost all trust in vets. A friend suggested this vet. They were so helpful, accommodating, and so very kind. My beloved pet and I were treated they way people and pets should be. Just not as a cash grab. Thank you so much for your help. I have found my new vet and when a pet of mine needs something I know where I’m taking them.

We have taken all our pets here in the past but we will be changing vet's due to the fact that our dog had dental surgery here, we picked him up and brought him home and found that they left the I.V. needle in his back leg. I called to let them know, we brought him back to have them remove it, no apologies, made us actually wait after knowing why we were there. Not sure what's going on with this place but not what it used to be. My mother also started her dog there and had an appointment to have his ears looked at as they were infected and she had requested that they give him his shots at the same time as they were due. When her dog came home she looked at the bill (my father picked him up) and realized they didn't do the shots so she had to bring the dog back.

Since Covid started they have purposefully missed the multi-pet discount on 2 occasions and do not honor it if you mention to them even after it was put in the notes that it was missed. Dont seem to care if you take your pet elsewhere.

When my pup had an infection doctors didn’t seem to concerned just kept telling me to pay for several tests. Wanted to just rip me off didn’t seem to care about the well being of my pup. Called and said there was a rash infection didn’t even take their time to check fully instead called me inside to point it out. Laziness and money hungry.

Do not bring your pet here!!! This is the worst vet I've ever been to. "Dr. Sajid Afzal" does not care for the animals, he was very rough with my bunny, and he was very rude. They do not provide any care for animals here. Dr. Sajid Afzal actually told me that he would rush my bunny's operation and my pet would die. Please do not bring your pet here, to a vet that's willing to kill animals.

I have never met vets so consistently commited to my pets. Dr. Afzal has been amazing, helping my family when we rescued abandoned kittens. The clinic has gone over and above my expectations, especially during a time when other professionals who pruport to care about animals were really unhelpful to us. We will always come to this clinic and would encourage any pet owner to do the same. Thanks!

I am a little disappointed in the service I received earlier today when I came in to get something for my pet. In my job we are taught to look, smile, and greet our customers, we are taught that the customer is the most important thing about our business, and not our phones!!! Well it wasn't the case today. The young lady with blue hair (sorry but I didn't catch her name) was rude, to busy and occupied with her cell that wouldn't even glance at me while I waited for a friendly hello. I could have grabbed my purchase and walked out the door. I was taken care by another young lady but my point is that I am not the only person that expects to be treated with a little respect, I mean after all if it weren't for me and all your customers you wouldn't have a pay check. Have a pleasant day .

If I could minus stars for this vet then my rating would be -20. The actual staff is fantastic, always smiling always friendly. The doctor however...TERRIBLE. He cares more about money than the actual well being of the animals. I have been taking my husky to him for a few years now. Recently my dog grew a tumor under his chin, we took him in to get it tested and turned out to be benign. Happy news. After speaking to the doctor and him leaving the decision to remove the lump up to us my husband and i decided we wanted to get it removed due to its drastic growth and sagging. The vet tech sent us a quote and breakdown of the surgery and cost. Just over $300 (made sense after the doctor telling us it was a short inexpensive removal) We made an appointment to start the whole process. After the doctor took blood from my dog he brought over some papers to be signed along with a different MUCH LARGER quote for the surgery. Suddenly my dogs $300 surgery was costing us $1500!! Naturally we argued the cost and wondered exactly what was going on, how was this costing us an extra $1200?! The doctors exact answer was "oh no, that price is too cheap for me to do this surgery, the person who sent you that quote is new and doesnt know what shes doing" Way to talk down your staff bud. The most ridiculous charge on our quote was $65 for him to use his own equipment!! (I wish I was joking) Needless to say there was no sense is arguing with that man, he was absolutely unreasonable and I strongly believe he was trying to rip us off. Currently looking for a new Vet.

I can definitely NOT recommend Dr. Naqi. We went to his Oakville hospital, which he all of a sudden closed down with no notice to their patients. And all he tried to do is add extra treatments to increase the invoice amount. Even when my cat got a rabies shot from them, which was good for 3 years, he still did another one the year after and was surprised that I didn't want to pay for that one. My new Vet did a treatment on my cat without any sedation and was done in 10 min. whereas he had to sedate my cat and keep him there for the whole day. Not recommendable!

Took my cat there since she wasn't eating for about 2 days. Staff was really nice, but getting her treated took along time about 2 hours since we left at 2:30 and came back at 5. Took a total of 850 to get her treated, with x-ray, food,etc. Also she didn't go poop for like 3 days too they forgot about that part but we just fed her the pumpkin cat food thing and now everything is fine. Overall is good but expensive.

I've been reading some of the reviews here and pleasently surprised, there were some negative experiences. I'm sorry that this had happened to some of you all. To my experience DR. Afsal was amazing to me and my puppy. He gave us the required attention, and explained every single medication he gave my puppy. Furthur more I have a Golden and he was aware that Golden have Hip Displacement issues and he checked her hips every time we went. He also never rushed any of his appointments nor was he money grabing. When I asked about Spaying my pup and micro chipping he wanted me to wait until 6 months, stating at 6 months my pup can handle the anestesia better and might as well do everything one shot. I've actually heard of Vets spaying dogs as early as 4 months. No money grab what so ever, and accomodated me everytime. Also when ever I freaked about about weird behaviours with Roxy I would call and the from desk was more than happy to answer any and all my questions. Great team of people!! Highly Recomended!!
