Really great selection of prescription pet foods, friendly staff

Clarkson Village Animal Hospital staff have been amazing in helping to provide care for my rescue dog who deals with fear based aggression. I am so thankful for their caring attitude and willingness to try to find the right approach to work with my dog. A special thanks to Dr. Forbes!

Don’t come here. I would put zero starts if I could. Lady on the phone was extremely rude. When she picked up she asked “is this an emergency or can I put you on a brief hold” and when I tried to ask what is considered an emergency she CUT me off before I can finish asking and she repeated her question with SO MUCH ATTITUDE, “is this an emergency?!? or can I put you on a brief hold?!?” And THEN didn’t even WAIT for my response and put me on a “brief hold” aka never picked up the line again. Called another vet and they were SO MUCH MORE CONSIDERATE. asked us what was wrong with our dog and explained the covid protocol/process of coming in, etc. What a waste of time. If you’re not going to be nice to your customers in your line of business why do you even bother pursuing a career in it?

Always there for us when we are in need. And works easily with our Pet Plan Insurance. Our Beau has visited Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for Kennel Cough which advanced to Pneumonia, after he was hit by an SUV and after our recent visit to the Lake where he decided to scarf down a fish skeleton and piece of sharp hard plastic - I watch my boy very carefully and yes, he still gets into trouble - anyway, we have been lucky enough to live close enough to Clarkson Village Animal Hospital where the doctors care and they are also reasonably priced. The only negative is the WiFi and reception in the building, I can never get in touch with friends or family when I need it.

As a first time dog owner and first time customer to this location, i had a great experience here. The vet was very friendly and tried to find a simple solution to the issue with my puppy first rather than making me do all kinds of tests and treatments. I really appreciated that! I had called a vet closer to me prior to coming here and right away told me to go to emergency with my pup which would have ended up costing hundreds of dollars for a very simple issue that was easily fixed by Dr. Amy. Im very grateful to clarkson animal hospital and they will continue to have my business going forward. ????

My older pup had an emergency today and I was grateful to get an appointment during the pandemic. The staff were very calm and kind. I also appreciated the frequent calls from the vet to keep me updated on my dog's status.

Karina Avilés

The vets always take the time to examine my dog and explain everything. The girls at the front are very nice. They really understand how important a pet is for those that visit the hospital. A little bit more expensive than other places but it's worth it. I'm very satisfied!

I had to take my son's dog in suddenly. She was operated at another vet and the bandage was coming off. Clarkson was willing to see her the same day. They were helpful and did a great job. The bandage stayed on. It is obvious the staff all like animals

Mandi Buckner

The staff were very kind, helpful and compassionate. Thank you.

We had to bring our dog Cooper in on Labor Day evening. We called first, and the assistant was very friendly on the phone. The friendliness continued when we arrived, with the assistant recognizing us as soon as we walked through the door and with the the veterinarian who treated Cooper. Our timing was lucky, and we only had to wait a few minutes for the vet. Considering this is a 24/7 clinic, the charges weren't too bad. The exam fee is clearly stated on the website, and we were clearly informed of the costs of treatments and tests options. We had a very positive experience.

4/16/18- My dog was 17, we thought it would be a good idea to find a place to take him in case of any emerg. We had never been here before but i read all the reviews and called and they were very nice so i decided to pick them. The time came that we needed to put my sweet dog down and from the moment we called, walked in and left everyone was really nice. They made the hardest processes of my life, as easy as they could and i am so grateful. Even after the fact, i had questions and concerns and i must have called 3-4 times. They answered all my questions and the doctor who helped us even called me back for the reassurance i needed, i was so grateful because she put my mind at ease. I am not one to write reviews unless they are really bad or really good. I felt that i needed to write this because my dog was everything to me. I was extremely picky on where i took him and who i left him with.. and after going through this touch experience with the hospital, i can say without a doubt that i made the right choice in choosing them, and the next time we decide to get a pet, i won't even think twice about where i will bring them. Thank you for being so compassionate, we appreciate it so much.

It’s been a year so I hope to write about this experience without rancour. My pet went here for several years and we were satisfied with the care. I believe your experience can vary quite a lot depending on who is working. In February 2019 my 5 year old cat was diagnosed with late-stage renal failure. They recommended euthanasia, but I took him home to say goodbye and he rallied. We got 4 more months with him. In June 2019 it was the end. Unfortunately it was the day after I had major knee surgery and I was in horrific pain and unable to walk. My pet sitters took him to the clinic. For undisclosed reasons, the euthanasia recommendation of February was now a recommendation for a $2000 overnight stay with tests etc. I was taken to to the clinic and learned they had lost my cat. They said the sitters took him. But they had not. So he was just missing. Turns out he was in the back of the clinic but this was not discovered for about an hour because staff were convinced they were right and therefore did not look for him. I am foggy on the order of events, but I elected for euthanasia and was not pushed to pay for more care. The euthanasia was done with empathy and tact, although it was not done in the euthanasia room. However, either before or after, I was placed on a chair in the centre of the waiting room while something was dealt with. This could have been them wrapping up after the euthanasia, or it could have been waiting while my cat was “lost.” I was there for about 30 minutes, crying my eyes out for my cat and because I was in so much pain. As anyone who’s had knee surgery will know, even with powerful pain medication the second day is excruciating. Another client in the waiting area cried too. I would have very much liked to have gone somewhere else. In normal circumstances I would have gone to my car, but I wasn’t able to move well enough to make multiple trips to and from it. The staff were aware of my condition as it was plainly obvious. It would have been kind to have communicated with me in the car if this happened before the euthanasia, or to have kept me in the exam room if it was after. I don’t remember if there was an apology for losing my cat. It wouldn’t have made a difference. I’ve since switched to another clinic.

I went in with my very sick dog about a month ago and my experience with the vet and the front office staff was appalling. I have a list that it too large to go into in regards to bedside manner, politeness etc., but for the review I'd like to focus on the four major things (1) My dog was very sick and on death's door. They took my dog to the back to inject him with pain medication. That's all they told me....pain medication. My dog came back and he collapsed on me. When I started shouting asking for help, they told me the "vet was on the phone and couldn't come right now". Panicked and very upset my dog was dead, the vet FINALLY came back and informed me that it was perfectly normal because they gave him opiods. Why wouldn't you warn me?!?! So unprofessional, this was truly upsetting to experience. (2) They prescribed medication he didn't need. I was so distraught I wasn't paying attention, it wasn't until I came home that I saw they gave me a $100 cream for a bruise on his nose that was unrelated (and unneeded!) they never asked or talked to me about this - just charged me (3) they told me I should try and switch his diet for the long run, if he got over this immediate issue, I could see some improvement in quality of life. I agreed to try the diet. Well, they charged me for the wrong food, then charged me for product that wasn't even there! The front desk lady didn't even realize until I pointed it out and then she said that she would order it in instead. Well it came in and they ordered in the wrong food AGAIN. (4) The room they kept us in was filthy! Hair and dirt everywhere. I had another healthy dog with me since I couldn't leave her by herself at home, and she got papilloma virus which is basically very contagious but not harmful. I'm convinced she got it from that dirty room since I had spent several hours there over multiple days. Needless to say, I did not go back. I went to another vet (and got charged the extra new patient fee), and did not regret it. They were amazing, more professional, clean and organized. My dog ended up needing life-saving surgery and I was so grateful that I didn't end up staying with this place. Based on how the rest of my experience went with this vet I do not have much faith my dog would have survived. Last thing. I called this place 3 x and left a message with reception all three times for the manager to call me back. They never did. Horrible horrible experience in a time when I needed guidance and help. This pet hospital exploited that and downright were disorganized and untrustworthy.

Vet prices suck. But they're all pretty much the same. That being said. I haven't had a bad experience here ever. Everyone's friendly and genuinely care about your pet. They don't make you pay for expensive stuff that isn't necessary.

Joshua Gardner

We have taken our dogs, and a number of foster dogs, here for a number of years. They're often pretty busy so calling ahead is a good idea as they can give you the best times to come. The fact that they're open 24/7 is such a great convenience. They've helped us out with lots of routine stuff with our dogs, in addition to a few emergencies and have been good to deal with.

ItzzRebel

Thanks to the team that is currently taking care of my cat (Tutu). I know you guys are doing your best. I hope she feels better. I miss her so much.

Jay C

completely understaffed, horrible customer care … do not waste your time or money with this awfully run clinic you will regret it.

Julius Almeida

Very courteous, dedicated and care for the pets that keep coming in. Their procedures are tidy and recommendations very fruitful just as is their diagnosis. Follow-up with each case is extremely purposeful and their charges are just about nominal and justified. We were happy with the way they treated our cat, Smokey.

cindy quesnel

Terrible place.. We tried to bring Bronco our Puppy their last night around midnight. The man vet would not see him because he was not a patient. . Bronco has been diagnosed with servere Collapse Tranchea. . He had another terrible cough, honking, wheezing, he was in distrees. . very heartless man.. Brought him to Oakville - they gave him 3 shots.. Meds.. I would never go to Clarkson Village Animal hospital. Brought him to our vet again this morning to follow up Dr. M. He has now refered us to a specialist. Great vet we use at Truscott Animal hospital. Cindy

Amal Tahir

Amazing clinic/ hospital. So friendly, sincere and genuinely interested in the well being of animals. I was too worried and overwhelmed with my sick cat, after several phone conversations and finally bringing him in I was completely satisfied that he is in good hands. You guys are the best!

Geoffrey Skey

I was there for the WORST possible reason. Our beloved fur baby Fritz "The Cat" became gravely ill out of nowhere. The Vets and accompanying staff went above and beyond the line of duty caring for our sick kitty. Unfortunately he was so sick there was nothing they could possibly do to save Fritz. Diabetic Ketoacidosis was the diagnosis and sadly, it took him as fast as it came. The only humane thing at this time was to make the arrangements to euthanize him. He was only 8 years old, 100% healthy right before it happened. Wednesday night we were playing and carrying on as normal, the next day he stopped eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. That was the beginning and the end all at once. A truth we still can't accept. Anyways, the staff were incredible at helping with all the hard parts and we're thankful for that.

Amazing experience! Had an emergency last night with my puppy and they were quick to respond, I drove 30 minutes out to come here since my nearest emergency had a 6 hour wait time - and Clarkson said their wait time wasn’t that long. The process was super smooth, the vet called me to discuss details about my puppy and was thorough. I would 100% come here again, even if I have to drive an additional 30 minutes because the service is great.

nahtanoj leunam

Fraud! They will take your money and do nothing! They took $600 for test and stuff for my dying cat but didn’t resolve anything? What a bunch of crooks! Fu to dr. fake Hertel who is incompetent! AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COST! They sent us home without resolving what happened to my cat and charge $600! Karma will get you Fraud bunch fckrs!

Adrian P

I was a little apprehensive to try this place out due to some of the negative reviews. But when my dog got really sick, this vet was able to fit us in within a couple of hours, so I decided to give it a shot. First and foremost, their prices for a 24 hour vet were surprisingly low (about $100 cheaper than Mississauga Oakville emergency vet). Secondly, their staff is extremely friendly and you can tell that they really care about animals. Most importantly, the vet was very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Considering that this is a 24 hour vet, your experience may differ as it depends on the vet working at the time. I got Dr. Danielle Hong, and she was amazing. Would highly recommend, especially in an emergency/after hours.

Eve

My dog passed away at home the day before New Year's eve and our vet was in Kitchener so I called Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for assistance. They were very professional, kind, and empathetic. They gave us a private room and as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our beautiful boxer. Overall great service and experience!

Anastasia Beaverheusen

Such amazing staff. We had to come in to put down our dog as her healthy quickly deteriorated one evening. Everyone was so patient and thoughtful throughout the whole process. The vet even cut out a cute little heart bandage her paw. Thinking about it now still makes me tear up. We’re not ready to get another dog just yet but I certainly know we’ll be taking all our future pets here. Thank you for your compassion in a very difficult time. My family and I will never forget it.

Algo Trading

Got my dog neutered here the price was very reasonable. It included an initial exam and blood work for the pup. On our 14 day follow up exam to insure pup's in good health. I mentioned that his ear was irritated as he would sake it head often(he was wearing a cone) staff told me that they will ask the vet about it. I received a phone call stating that there would be an additional exam fee of $90+ to look as his ear(emergency hour fee). As the previous paid amount only covered an "exam of the netured area". Pretty much they are currently examining his nut sack but to lift his ear, I need to pay an extra exam fee?

Gerald McFall

Everyone here was very compassionate and loving with our Ray, we want to thank everyone for everything they did for Our Ray, The McFall Family

There was a lack of communication from the staff and I was not informed about all the costs. I was told that my cat had to be euthanized or they would need to run a few tests. After a few tests, the vet sent my cat home with medications that made him even more sick. The total ended up being more than $2,000 for bloodwork, overnight stay, and ultrasound, which I found out was unnecessary after visiting another vet. At the end, the second vet treated the same symptoms and only cost me less than $300. My overall experience with this clinic was poor to say the least and there was some ethical issues on their end.

Naz K

Was always buying food from them without a problem. Today came in, super rude lady on the phone told me she can't sell me the food because there's shortage of food supply and is only available to their patients which my cats aren't. I asked how long will this last? Her answer was FOREVER.

Taryn Cloutier

I brought my dog Abby here on Sunday night after a horrific experience at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Bramton at Wexford and Highway 10. I am so grateful with my experience thus far. Even though they could not conduct the surgery within a few hours, they took Abby in and made her comfortable... unlike the other clinic who wanted me to wait with my dog in my car. They had empathy and compassion. They were also honest. They originally predicted that they couldnt take her in for surgery until midnight so I had to pay initally a $250 12 hospital stay (forgive me if I have this wrong). However, they were able to bump up her surgery by 3 hours, therefore waiving the fee. They could have just kept her longer and I would have never have known so I appreciated that honesty. Thanks for taking us on Sunday. The receptionist was also great (sorry, I dont know her name).

Mike Michielli

Terrible experience and I second ‘Spring Thyme’s comments. Do not consider this establishment if you’re looking for prompt service (which is a given at their prices -$200 for a examination and admittance to ER) and good communication regarding your pet’s status and well-being while admitted. While I can accept that there’s a global shortage of trained veterinarian support staff, the act of repeatedly not answering calls and putting you on hold for several minutes every time you call is simply unacceptable. Are receptionists also in short supply? I’m certain that the response will be that all pets in need undergo triage so that critical care patients are tended to first. This I understand well from a physician’s perspective. However, note that there is probably also a burdensome but ethical duty to maintain an adequate level of communication with those who trust you with their pets. Poor communication and expectations management.

David Porter

This is a very professional animal hospital compared with the one where my cat had service before. There are multiple vets on duty, having easy access to talk with them, staff are decent and friendly. By the way, there is a DQ next door, great ice cream!

Chenessa McGivern

Fantastic experience. Easy scheduling, handled our cat very well, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and work hard to make sure things go right. We moved our cat to the UK, and they helped out with all the paperwork. We had a bit of an emergency when there was confusion about previous paperwork we had for our cat which delayed him being released to us, however the staff were quick to help us sort out the problem and scan over revised paperwork for clarity, despite the weird hours with the time change. Highly recommend.

I want to sincerely thank the wonderful ladies who work the night shift. They cared for and helped my boy in his time of need at 4am one cold winter night this past November in an emergency visit. Thank you for the kindness and wonderful care! I have since brought my other dog here as well for his health care needs. Everyone here is really great! They do what is right, they don't overcharge, fantastic business and great people worth supporting!!!

mark s

I had to put down my dog. He was 15 years old. The kindness and caring of the techs and the vet herself was perfect. Made a difficult decision less stressed. Never a great procedure but it was beautifully conducted and there was comfort for my dog and my family and I in the end. Highly recommend this caring and kind group.

Angelica Donato

Best vets around. Wouldn't recommend any others.

Archer Dixon

They deserve 10 stars! We had a harrowing emergency where our dog that was treated at different vet was fighting for her life. The staff at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital were efficient and helpful. They stabilized the dog right away on emergency basis. Then went on calling around other hospitals in middle of the night to find us a surgeon and a more equipped place. They provided us with all the instructions and support that we needed. Above all, the humanity and compassion of the people at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital is unsurpassed. I have since dealt with at least 6 or 7 people here over the last several days and every single one has been great. They all went the extra mile to be as helpful as possible. I wish I had brought my dog here in the first place.

Adriana Skene

Happy for their availability in case of emergencies, and the staff is friendly, but the couple times we have been there, (2 separate instances with different symptoms) I feel like they are quick to offer their food as a solution instead of investigating an issue further. In both instances independent research ended up solving the issue, as my dog simply doesn't enjoy their food, and it didn't clear up the problem.

Mag B

I hate giving this review. This has been my vet for 4 years. Tonight's experience was just to much. Front desk staff at 9:00 PM on 01/15/2019 needs lessons in customer service. Walk in appointments do not come before scheduled appointments. I will not reschedule for a third time. Wasted two nights coming in for annual appointment and left with no service. Will not be back. My pet deserves so much better.

Teresa Cascioli

Stay away, staff constantly changing and very pricey! Michelle at desk, very rude.

Marlon Robinson

During the May long weekend my dog was attacked at Jack Darling leash free, we drove to the clinic to have him checked out because he appeared to be in pain and there was evidence of blood. He was assessed very quickly, as animals coming in are assessed based on severity and not just appointments or arrival time, and it turned out that the blood likely belonged to the dog who attacked him and he just had some deep bruising but no broken skin. The process was very quick, I was surprised not to be charged at all. I know they were very busy that weekend but took the time and also advised me of what to look for over the next few days to determine if my dog needed to see his veterinarian for any potential injuries.

Elena P

I have been quite a loyal customer to this clinic and even when I moved to a different city still came to this clinic. Unfortuntely with time this clinic has diminished it's level of service anything good I had to say prior to with this clinic has faded away. They have increased their prices, the customer service is brutal, very disorganized and their technicians as well as vet doctors are poor in diagnostics and taking care of the pets while they stay over night.

John Roch

I have been going here for over 23 years. During that time we have had 3 dogs and 2 cats. Every time I walk into the Clarkson Village Animal Hospital you get the sense that everyone love pets and they are very professional. They do a great job with little reminders via phone so even a busy person like me will remember to do my routine check up. They keep good records of purchases so you can ask them what you bought last time which helps ensure you are on a good schedule. They are the only vet that I know of that is open 24/7/365 including Christmas Day and New Years Eve. They always have staff on site for an emergency when you need it. That is commitment and care at it finest. I can tell you that the review below has never reflected my experience in 23 years all of my friends and family members have all told me the Clarkson Animal Village Hospital was the best vet they have been too. I would strongly suggest to bring your pet here unless you are not looking for the best treatment, in which case you have plenty of options out there. Personally, like a family member, I will only give my dog and cat the best treatment which is why I have never gone anywhere else. Edit: Feb 25th. I just took my cat here for her annual check up. As I brought her to the car she caught her paw on something and had a little blood coming from a cut in her foot that was so small I didn't even notice. Dr. Dewitt noticed it, treated at no additional charge, and 3 days later Clarkson Village Animal Hospital calls asking how her foot is doing. Heck hospitals for humans don't give this kind of service!

Marina Naalband

Do not take your dog here! This clinic shows absolutely no compassion. Wednesday June 09 2021 my dog had a surgical procedure which cost $3176 fast forward to Saturday and she scratched a stitch open. They provide an e collar which is made of fabric so easy for her to scratch through. I called the vet and explained the situation and the receptionist who refused to give me her name and who is quite rude lacks compassion and has zero empathy stated I need to bring her in and it will be an additional cost. My initial emergency visit was $187 so all together at this clinic alone I spent around $3400 and they cannot do a follow up care which is to be expected can happen when a dog has sutures. Reluctantly I will have to go back in two weeks to get her sutures removed. I am a nursing student and would never imagine speaking to a patients family who is in tears in the way I was spoken to tonight. If you love your furry babies I would think twice about this clinic.

JJJ NNN

Thank you for your compassion during a difficult time. My dog was 17 years old and I had to make the difficult decision to let her go. The clinic from the moment I entered were so sweet and caring. I appreciate them seeing my dog right away. I had my own room to spend the last moments with my dog. They did not rush me and let me be comfortable with my decision. They explained the process and gave me all the time I need to say my good byes. They did not push any sales and simply informed me of my options. Danielle comfort me and let me give my dog the best form of love which is her peace. Thank you so much for taking care of my dog and me.

Julia

We went to this vet because my dog had a stick lodged between her teeth in the back of her mouth. Without hesitation they vet immediately took her and within 5 minutes they got the stick out and she was perfectly fine. Thank you so much I would highly recommend.

Cold as Icee

They were courteous and cared about my dog but they totally misdiagnosed him and ordered a test that should not have been done on the same sample, thus the results were skewered. My dog was almost treated for a serious illness that he did not have. I went to another vet and we repeated the test and he didn't have the problem they said he had. They are very expensive too. Extremely expensive.

Paulina Kmiec

I couldn't have asked for a better hospital. Their wonderful team saved my dogs life. They were extremely patient, honest and understanding of my financial situation. I really couldn't say thank you enough. I appreciate all that you do.

molly bee

This hospital is amazing. The staff are caring professional and truly care about the animals that come into the clinic. They literally saved my dog’s life when she had emergency surgery. I’m so thankful my girl Lexy was in such great hands. Thanks so much to Dr Alex Warrack and his team for coming back to the clinic and performing emergency surgery and for keeping me updated the whole time Special thanks to Katie for the extra cuddles and snuggles with Lexy and for sending me the detailed email reassuring me that she was fine Thanks again so much everyone and I would highly recommend this clinic Maria B

I called in tonight with an emergency. My cat was vomiting which I assumed was blood and was a bit frantic… the rep who picked up for some odd reason was more worried about my delivery of conversation opposed to my cats situation and said “ I have 2 families waiting in the waiting room and I need to relax or she would end the call” at that point I knew this was Definitely not the place I would put my cats life at risk in… rushed him over to Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (VCA) where they took him in immediately at 11pm obviously there was a wait but they kept him under observation. After some under the skin fluid and anti nausea meds. My little guy was feeling much better ???? Goes to show that the point of first contact at this location is unacceptable and lost a customer for a very good reason. I’ve heard a lot about the lack of professionalism and empathy at this location and saw it first hand in a state of emergency I would highly recommend VCA over clackson. To continue with the reply.. at no point did you accept or even empathize with my post or situation nor did you apologize or try to even reach out and ask about the conversation that had taken place with your staff. If you can’t discipline your own staff and/or take responsibility of their actions then it shows you will lack the same empathy when and if you mess up with my pet. Thank you for your lack of service and helping me choose a hospital that cares for our furry little friends. 1/5 kindly please understand this is not a bash it’s simply a way for you to be able to rectify your mistake as well as others to have knowledge of the lack of service being provided here.

Bill Gamarra

Lack of detail and potential attempt at prolonging my departure from their services. TL;DR version at the bottom. I was trying to get my animals files transferred to my new vet. (Financially, the new vet made more sense and I specified this on the phone call as my reason for departure.) They let me know that it wouldnt be a problem, but there was a vaccine that I prepaid and just needed to come get done before finalizing her file and shipping it out. Fair! If its prepaid all I have to do is go in and get the shot, correct? Person on the phone said yes that is correct and I showed up to my next scheduled visit. Immediately I get told that I'm going to be paying for xyz vaccines - at which point I reminded them that I'm just here for the remaining prepaid shot before transferring. They went and checked their files and didnt have any evidence of said prepaid vaccine - and then their staff just scapegoated someone who has conveniently left their establishment so no further investigation could be completed. Wasting both my time and my gas when I had been extremely clear and transparent with my verbiage on the phone regarding her treatment before departure. As for why its 2 stars and not 1 star - this place has taken care of my dog during dire moments and I don't feel like a clerical error/miscommunication is enough of a blemish to discredit the previous treatment/care. TL;DR - person on phone said to come get a vaccine I paid for before closing up file for transfer. I came in and staff was unaware I was even transferring and would not honor supposed vaccine. Blamed staff member that left their team so couldnt figure it all out.

If you are serious about going here, READ THIS - ALL OF IT! So I got a cut and paste response to my last post (see below). Since I could only write one review, I overwrote over my last review! DO NOT GO HERE!. Maybe the prices are competitive but that wouldn’t really matter as long as my pet is treated with gentleness, care and compassion! If the vet was caring and warm, I don’t think I would care so much about cost! EXCEPT when the doctor wants to do all these procedures however unnecessary and talk price. He wasn’t professional and he did not give us the best options! (My wife is in the medical field) He recommended that we give our cat a sedative because she was upset and hissing! He wanted us to come in and calm her down so they could give her a shot. The messed up part is that he didn’ Give my cat the shot. The nurse gave the shot and she even had to ask the doctor - here? All this to do a blood analysis! The doc stood 5 feet away barking orders and only came close as we secured our cat. Because they couldn’t handle our cat, we got charged for the sedative! How incompetent! I get angered at the way we were “handled”. We went to our usual vet the next day and had NO issues. They are extremely warm and caring and did not have to use any sedative although my cat is not very familiar to them as well. I am not a bot so if you’d like to respond to this, act like you care! It’s not about the matter of cost, it’s about the care! By the way, it says that people usually spend 15 min to 1 hour there. I highly doubt that this is true. We spent 2.5 hours there. They don’t even tell you how long any procedure might take! If I had known how terrible the service was here, I would have waited! RIP OFF and BAD SERVICE! What they would say: let’s talk money and if you agree with the cost, everyone will be happy! If you have an emergency and you want to go there for the first time, BEWARE!

Great bunch of people working there. Definitely people that love animals.

I wish I could give them a star or something, unfortunately I cannot do so, this is an emergency hospital and in fact it was not available for any emergency when I called , they just said they were not able to help as they were too many cases already booked. It seems emergencies can be booked before hand and whatever happens last minute can wait or just booked another day , because emergencies can wait..The fact I do not give you a negative review is just because I do not have the options . Thanks GOD there are still VET clinics that are open over the weekend and can still perform some tests on your pet and can solve the issues and provide you with a peace of mind and treat your puppy as what they are, A member of our family, instead of say no .. provide a real emergency service

Traumatic experience for my dog... Went in with a big dog who got treated for a broken nail. Over 500 dollars later we bring the dog home and he goes in a heavily sedated state confused dizzy nauseas horrified and crying all night. We had to sleep next to him to keep him comfortable because he didn't know why he was feeling like this. He was over-doped causing a days worth of hell for him all for an unnecessary nail procedure which was done to take our money. Animals are not objects, they are sensitive beings and as a vet clinic you must always put the animals comfort over everything else. We switched places where they do just that.

We brought in our new rescue cat Panda after a misdiagnosis from another vet. As it turns out he was very ill. The staff did an amazing job and saved his life! To all the people that day they charge too much, look at the area. Prices are not much different than other vets in the area and even if they are a little more expensive their experience and care is worth it.

Had to see a vet after hours when my cat started vomiting and couldn't keep down water. They were able to see me right away and called me within 15 minutes (COVID times, we couldn't go in with our cat) with a diagnosis and treatment plan options. I'm super impressed with the services and highly recommend!

Front desk staff are fantastic, friendly and very tentative to details. Great service from the doctor on call who explained all the options available to me clearly and the pros and cons. I would recommend this vet to the local area.

Our puppy had hind leg paralysis and was in pain. We rushed to Clarkson Village hospital and was immediately attended to by the doctor. Extremely helpful and compassionate team. Answered all queries and provided guidance.

Before the pandemic, I would've given this animal hospital five stars due to slightly slow, but amazing service and a surgeon that was able to be clear and truthful about my dog's walking situation after the removal of a massive growth that caused muscle atrophy in her back leg. I was very lucky, everything worked out as hoped with surgery especially afterwards due to clear communication and recommended intensive physio which I learned myself to help her with her arthritis. My dog had since been very successful and happy, had a dental cleaning at her other vet as we were in another province for mostly all of last year. Being back in ON, my dog being 14 now, last week she was very sick, refused to eat anything, trouble sleeping, breathing, looked very uncomfortable, lethargic, some vomiting so I brought her to this hospital and found the pandemic has made this place lose their sense of humanity, patience and respect for pet owners and the animals. I had to argue to wait with my dog in the doorway explaining my dog will experience high stress waiting alone for the vet and has high anxiety in the vehicle. Myself and the vet there at the time decided on an xray for the chest. I witnessed the vet choking my dog with the leash because my dog didn't want to leave me. I waited in my vehicle like I was told and received a phone call explaining my dog physically looks "fine" and the xray just shows a "slighty enlarged heart". I was told if I want to investigate further I can take her to a radiologist they recommend. I was advised on giving her anti-anxiety medication and appetite stimulants, however my dog never had problems eating. My dog did seem better afterwards even ate a little bit, however that night she was sick again. I called to speak to the vet again to discuss further on her xray, the vet was not in that day so I received a call the next day. My dog was feeling better so far and ate a tiny bit. During this phone call two days later from the visit, I was told more information regarding my dog's xray that there is possibly a growth conflating her kidney, also her liver and kidneys were "slightly enlarged" from what the vet could see. At this point I am deeply concerned for my dog and did not understand why I was not told this the day we were there as I live an hour away. My dog was sick again about half an hour after this phone call. Mind you readers, I was not even told what an enlarged heart could mean, let alone the enlarged liver and kidneys. My dog would contract her stomach in and out in pain and was heaving and vomiting. She was in serious pain and suffering. I called another vet to come see my dog at the house as soon as possible. I was then told the educated truth based on a simple physical exam, seeing pale gums, difficulty breathing, lethargy, pulse, etc. also from what info I gave and the info given to me by this animal hospital regrettably not from their own vet to myself. My dog had serious, but unknown heart problems, therefore was not getting enough oxygen and proper blood circulation, causing her heart and organs to start to fail simultaneously. We did not delay any further and put her down. I am disappointed that my dog had to suffer two more days because of a lack of communication and honesty from this animal hospital. So I advise anyone reading this, get a second opinion if you go here because the pandemic has given them an excuse to nonchalantly not communicate possible serious health problems in their patients at least from my recent experience. Be respectful to your patients. Be clear and honest to their owners especially during this pandemic instead of trying to grift people and rush at an animal's physical expense.

Brought my cat Ace and he was looked after by Dr. Rahho. The team and doctor were extremely helpful and provided all of the possible options we had, to help with Ace. Very good service, if needed, I will return.

We can always rely on Dr. Dewitt to provide expert and trusted care for our cats, thoughtfully answering all our questions and providing options for consideration. We always feel confident our feline family members are receiving the care they deserve thanks to Dr. Dewitt.

This is an excellent vet... And that can be hard to say. They have helped me with dog hives at 3am with normal vet charges and not trumped up emergency ones. Very compassionate and prices are about the norm for the area. Highly recommended.

I suggest that you avoid this vet at all costs. A visit to them, and subsequent misdiagnosis, almost cost my dog her life. I visited the vet again after my dog had fully recovered to discuss this with them, and in their words "we accept no responsibility for our vet's diagnosis or prescriptions". Needless to say, I will not be risking my pet's life at Clarkson no matter what the circumstances. There are many other vets in the area who instead work with integrity and honesty to choose from.

While I've heard some people have had bad experiences here, I can personally say mine was a great one and for that I am forever grateful to this team and to the surgeon that worked on my doggy. You took amazing care of her and were super helpful and professional during a time where I thought I was losing her. You saved her and made her feel 1000 times better. Although its not cheap here being an emergency vet, it was absolutely worth it!

Excellent, removed tick from my dog, reasonably priced. I did not have to see a vet, tech took care of it so cost under $50

Best vet service in Mississauga. Have always done a good job attending to my animals. Doctor's are very informative.

This place is absolutely awful . I called them because our vet ran out of insulin and we needed some for our dog . When I called they had told me a price for a particular size , then when I went in to pick it up it was double the amount ! They wouldn’t admit to their mistake and give it to me for the price I got told . I couldn’t go to another vet at this point because they were all closed ! They charged $6 for 2 needles !!!!!! The insulin for a tiny tiny bottle they charged what we pay for a huge one . I am so angry right now . It’s absolutely disgusting .
