Me, and more importantly, my 6 month old puppy love coming to this clinic. The staff are very friendly and have been very helpful with all my puppies vaccinations, checkups, and a recent illness. I don't live close but I still drive to this clinic specifically for the great service.

It took me awhile to find a good Vet for my bunny. (Alot of places only do cats and dogs) This place is amazing and did not disappoint. The vet answered all my questions, and was very good with my rabbit. We are happy and will be back! Wonderful service, there's very few vets that treat fish in Calgary (2 including this one to my knowledge) and because of the medication ban you can no longer get meds for your fish without a prescription. These guys did an excellent job of getting me a quick appointment, assessment, and prescription. The desk lady was kind, friendly and understanding, especially compared to the very different experience I had with the Calgary Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic (phone lady was condescending and rude; talked to me like I was a little kid and said "no, we can't just hand medication for fish over the counter" even though I didn't ask that and just wanted to know what they treated for). Even though they don't advertise to or treat specifically for fish, they still listened and said they would be able to help with some issues, which they could for the ones my fish had. Dr. Milcius is kind, concise, and easy to talk to- he told me all the info I needed to provide and got straight to the point for treatment as we both saw what the issue was clearly. Another great thing about this clinic compared to the other exotic one is that I didn't even have to bring my sick fish in! I was very grateful as I would have felt really bad for stressing out an already suffering animal, and they were able to book me in for a phone consultation even a day after calling! Compare this to the exotic one where they told me I would have to physically bring my fish in, as if I were lying about my fish being sick or too ignorant to guess at the sickness (I doubt an ignorant fish owner cares enough to notice and be willing to pay for and bring their fish to a vet), and also that they could only book for the next week- my fish could've died by then, and the consultation really wouldn't be that long because like 99% of fish diseases are easily identifiable, and the rest show no symptoms in early stages until they become bad enough to be easily visible.

We took are Leopard Gecko here and I'm glad we did. The staff was friendly and the vet new his stuff and answered all are questions. After being all fixed up buy the vet are Leopard Gecko is all better. I would highly recommend coming here if you have a reptile.

If this was a completely free country, you best believe id go handle whoever in that establishment decided a $212 price tag for neutering a male cat. The very poorly spoken woman was not wearing a mask as I entered the lobby, but was sure quick to throw one across her useless face once in. Asking this woman a simple question was worse than chewing broken glass for dinner, and i assure you im not attempting to sound extra whatsoever.. All she could answer with were raised arms at her sides and eyes rolling both ways. I'm sure she make good in a circus, and most likely not at the front desk of a clinic. I promise you take your pets here if you want to spend double the money, have some circus lady attempt to act 11 with you for zero reason, and im sure they don't even practice safely after just doing paper work with them and seeing how they go about themselves. Thanks for providing Avenida with Garbage.

I had to make a very tough decision with my beloved pet bunny. I was dreading going in to put her to rest all day. The Dr. was kind and empathetic. He had treated her previously and has such knowledge on bunnies. I trust and recomened him if you have a small animal. When I took her in I was crying as I was about to lay my loving bunny to rest. He made the atmosphere very warm and comforting. Even though my husband could not come in due to CoVID restrictions I still felt comfortable. She went very peacefully and I could not push more on the fact that the whole clinic was comforting. The receptionist was kind and warm and the Dr. was as well. Kind words were said. He explained the procedures thoroughly and I know my sweet friend will be taken care of. I got to be with her and then when she was ready they took her to another room to prepare her for cremation. Would recomened this place 110% and always will go there for any future small animals i may have. Thank you Avenida All Pet Clinic ♥️

Fantastic, family-ran vet clinic. We brought our rabbit here and Dr. Milcius was thorough yet gentle, and made the often stressful experience a breeze. We've called on several occasions to make last minute appointments and they are always quick to help fit us in. Would recommend to anyone that has rabbits and is looking for a great rabbit-savvy veterinarian.

All of the negative reviews are from the previous animal clinic at this location 2 or more years ago. This small clinic is a great place to take your pet. The staff is friendly and Dr. Milcius is a great Vet. He takes great care and always takes the time to explain everything and makes the time to answer ALL your questions. Our dog is a little nervous initially but calms down quickly when he examines her due to his great bedside manner.. a true pet whisperer!

Kiera (I believe her name was) at the front desk was extremely accommodating and dealt professionally with my chaotic state over the phone handling my million questions. Great vet. Also the only place I could find that carries the non-adjuvant Purevax rabies vaccine for cats. My cat has kidney disease and all other vaccines aside from Purevax have adjuvants that inflame and damage the kidneys. I was happy to find this vaccine there. The vet was also very helpful in providing information about a website with homemade cat food recipes instead of trying to discourage me from feeding homemade food (which my cat does best on) like other vets have done. Really liked this vet clinic.

We took our very sick cockatiel to this vet a year ago. The vet had some ideas but seemed to think it was minor. When she didn't get better after two visits, we tried to take her in right away and they couldn't fit her in. We decided to take her to the Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic and they were able to fit her in right away. I tried to obtain our birds records from Avenida and they refused. Said it would cost me and it would take a few days. I offered to come in and copy the file myself, or take pictures and they refused. This made it very difficult for the next vet to continue her care. In the end, we found out she had a cancerous mass in her stomach and she passed away. Avenida clinic never called to check up on her but a year later I continue to receive emails looking for a review, reminding me to book her next check up and postcards in the mail. I have contacted them 3 times and told them that she passed away yet we continue to be reminded of her death with their stupidity. I would never take my animal family members to this clinic again.

I will never take another exotic pet to this clinic. I brought my 7 month old mouse to get checked because she was having issues with her eye and Calgary Avian and Exotic was booked up. The doctor had no idea how to handle a mouse and hesitated to touch her. When I offered to scruff her for him he refused and pinned her down with his hand to the point that she got stressed and played dead. I have taken my mice to 2 emergency vets and Calgary Avian and Exotic and have never had my mice handled so rough. He said she just had an eye infection and gave us drops. Less then a week later she had no improvement and I had to take her into emergency where they found she had a bad infection and had to be put down. This clinic says they handled exotics. Do not believe them.

Don't bring your pet here. Quick summary: Vet told us to hit our dog. we have an aggressive dog (he is a teddy bear) 3 people pinned him down to clean his ears, when he actually loves his ears cleaned. She body checked our dog in to the wall because he didn't sit right away, so hard that she fell over on him. Picked him up by his collar from laying down because he didn't sit right away (hes long lanky puppy and doesn't move fast) The Vet is clearly scare of large dogs. apparently he is a lost cause and so aggressive we might not be able to train him back (hes a 1 year old and pretty much the kindest dog youll meet. all happy ECT) After all the BS we dealt with these people, when we tried to leave...it costs us $40 to get our records to another vet hospital..... by the way this is the only clinic is the ONLY ONE IN CALGARY THAT CHARGES YOU!!!!! if you like your animal, don't bring them here. seriously considering reporting the vet for how she treated our dog.

I've been taking my cat, a Siamese/Ragdoll cross named Ivy, to Avenida for years. Though I've always had hesitations with Dr. Phillips, the assistants and office ladies that work there have always been such dream to me, so I've always known Ivy would be well taken care of. Well, Ivy and I went in today to have her annual check up and found out that Dr. Milcius had taken over. AND OH MY GOD WHAT AN AMAZING VET!!! He was personable, respectful and above all really listened to me and addressed all of my concerns with so much compassion! He was very down to earth and reasonable with some of the issues that were not a concern and came up with a step by step, cost effective plan for the issues that were more pressing. He explained everything so well and was SO AMAZING with my baby!! The best part was when I went out to the lobby to pay, he brought out his wife, who evidently loves cats. I let her hold Ivy and she was just in awe over her saying how beautiful and friendly she was. Everyone stood around talking about how much they loved Ivy and Ivy couldn't have been more content! I was almost in tears!!!! To know that your furry companion is so adored by the staff at their vets office is the most humbling feeling! I wouldn't take her anywhere else!! :)

Highly recommend this clinic. I was worried about the health of my new ball python thinking he has a respiratory infection and the doctor did a thorough exam to make sure he was okay. There was also a lot of conversation and advice regarding his care moving forward that made me feel very confident as a pet owner. I went in extremely worried and left with peace of mind and honestly felt so relieved and happy. As well the receptionist was super friendly and welcoming from the get go which helped ease my anxiety about my little guy as I was waiting to see the doctor.

Dr. Milcius is exceptional, whenever I bring my cat for her check up or call for information, he is always so helpful and personable as well as the staff. He's taken care of my Scottish Fold since her first vaccination. He came recommended by the breeder. I shopped around in the beginning for a vet in my area, but could not find anyone that compares so I don't mind driving across the city if it means that my cat will be treated by a vet who you can tell truly loves animals. It's obvious he is quite passionate for his work and understands how certain procedures can be stressful for the owner. He takes the time to explain or answer any questions you might have, not to mention my cat is relaxed and curious around him. I highly recommend this vet.

My previous experience with the prior female vet was horrible with my rabbit and was never going to go back again however I found out that the female vet left so I decided to try the new vet. The new vet is very knowledgeable and was very kind to my rabbit and had a great experience. Would highly recommend the new vet if you haven't tried him yet. He is extraordinary compared to the old vet and I will continue to bring my rabbit here as long as he is there.

Great clinic for exotic pets. The staff are all great, the veterinarian is very friendly and is willing to personally answer any and all questions we ever have. One of our rabbits was fixed here and we bring both of our rabbits in every year for a checkup and never have any problems. Lovely front desk staff, and excellent vet. My cats both feel quite comfortable there, and I feel confident that they are in very good hands. My older cat just had some tooth extractions, and was in surprisingly good spirits with nice shiny fur afterwards (she loses clumps of fur when stressed).

Staff were very nice but I believed the vet didn't got enough experience for guniea pig, he said he didn't feel my pig has tumor when doing the exam. The vet told me come back to do a full oral clean up that it will be helpful, if not then do the x-ray or blood test. I went to the animal hospital this morning, the vet can easily find that here was a lump in his liver even though no x-ray is required. I have wasted time and money at Avenid Pet Clinic, very sad & disappointed!
