The veterinary business must be very stressful. Dealing with life, death, pain and hopefully joy everyday. The skills needed to manage difficult emotions MUST be highly evolved to work in this business. Today I witnessed a staff member who was stressed, mean, nasty and clearly unable to deal with her job. When I left I found myself in tears just imagining this person looking after my pet. It's not a leap to imagine how stressful a barking or crying animal would be and just thinking of someone mistreating my pet made me ill. If you are unable to handle a busy day, you should not be working with animals.

They are upfront about pricing! Easy to get an appointment, called on Friday will be seen Tuesday morning. Inconsistant staff, I have dealt with the sweetest to somewhat rude, I love the one vet tech we get who also works for the humane society and some who man handle animals without explaining to you that it won’t hurt them. I’ve also had receptionist be compassionate when called anxiously about my animal to some that laugh when I am trying to make an appointment. I would recommend them as the try to save you all the money they can but you have to have thick skin to deal with some of the desk ladies as they require different information when making appointment which may lead you to feel stupid.

Due to COVID 19, every Veterinary clinic declined giving me an appointment for my 4-legged daughter who dislodged her nail, was bleeding and in pain. I tried calling quite a few over 4 days and none were ok accommodating her because we're not an already existing client. I'm new to Canada and kept wondering how they cannot understand that! I was so worried that her leg would get infected. The only thing I could do was apply antiseptic. Luckily my friend sent me Loyalist Veterinary Hospital's contact details. I called them yesterday and they immediately gave me an appointment for today. They have maintained an excellent system of managing appointments and clients considering the lockdown and social distancing. The staff and Dr. Pang were extremely nice and knew what they were doing. My daughter was treated correctly and they gave me the follow-up medicines for her as well. Thank you so very much. I really appreciate everything you did to take care of my girl. ❤️

Very unprofessional. My male cat was brought to this vet to get fixed when I moved to Belleville, On, and got a female kitten, she became pregnant and I couldn’t have that happen again as it took too much time and responsibility to take care of a full litter. At the very beginning of November he was neutered, I just came home today to a SINGLE newborn kitten laying on my floor. I then did a little bit of research and realized that it’s possible for 30 days after being neutered for a male to impregnate an unspayed female cat. Never once was I or anybody on phone calls leading to this appointment, informed this was possible-I have all paperwork with warnings/what to do/what not to do/risks/etc, not to mention I brought up that the fact that this is needed was to avoid my female cat from getting pregnant ever again. I believe this vet not informing me is the reason she got pregnant and only with a single baby. Will be calling in the am when it’s open to speak about what will be done about this, but I’m highly annoyed I spent almost $300 to save everyone from this happening both to me, and my kitten- yet it happened AGAIN. That is DEFINITELY something you add to the list of risks.

Setup an appointment to drop my pet here for 2 days and dropped her off. Did all my chores and went to pick her up, and that's where the problem came about. When dropping her off, asked if there were any training methods to have her bark at strangers. Got a dirty look and was told "We don't condone that". Ok, I thought that was strange. Usually, a trainer or a vet does let me know why something may be a bad idea. On picking her up, the lady brought the dog out and told me we were banned from boarding there in the future. Said the dog was petrified and did not eat. Why they didn't call me the moment they noticed the problem is beyond understanding for me. I immediately took my dog to a vet and had her checked out, and aside from a little nervousness (normal in a GSD when meeting new people) she got a clean bill of health. I went to an animal behaviourist 2 days later, and after spending a couple of hours, I was again told my dog was ok and it was normal in the breed of being nervous around strangers, especially as a 15 month old puppy. Both the vet and the behaviourist did recommend against using this place again and said they were not surprised by my experience. In fact, the vet said that even for emergencies, she recommends the pets are taken to a place in Peterborough rather than be brought here. I would highly caution against boarding here. However, their prices are reasonable.

I get my aproquel there every time.Today i arrive Could only get seven pills at four times the cost! Say my dog needs a check up before any more refills given.Thats fine but a heads up when I got my last prescription that my dog needed a check up so I could have save for it and got her aproquel with out having to pay two dispensing fees! Did seem fair to me especial when I had pick them up last month and ask if I could buy two months worth a time The lady said yes and I said next time. No mention of her prescription run out.

Maybe a bit of burnout or something. I can understand. That must be a tough job. I did not like that I was unable to go in with my dog because of their covid rules. I was concerned because she is old and has a bad leg. I tried to explain this but the worker was kinda #itchy and in a rush I guess. My dog 's leg was, indeed aggravated and has been limping on for a few days now. She has a scab on her mouth that will not heal. It's still there and getting worse. They had no good explanation. It felt rushed and rude and expensive. Goodbye Loyalist vet.

I left my dog to for nine days, I signed him up for boarding $45 which didn't include doggy daycare that was an extra $12 a day, my dog is a nine-month-old Shih Tzu, he is a people lover. When prior to dropping them off they said we could bring whatever we wanted so I packed up his favourite blanket and some of his favourite toys. They said they'd send pictures of him to us every other day. They didn't, until I called from my trip to check up on him they followed up with one picture. When I went to pick him up today all his toys and blankets were still in the garbage bag that I tied up. My bill was $500 for nine days of boarding doggy daycare was only half a day not including weekends. I would've been ok paying this if my dog received care.

Friend brought a dog in under severe duress. Very complacent and unprofessional. No immediacy and seemed like they couldn't give a hoot. Dog was a family member and it was very obvious they didn't care much about that. Dog died an hour later. Highly recommend another vet.

Wont be taking my dogs to this place again because not very friendly at all pretty much just take the dogs and said bye and gave the a shot that we were not informed about intill after we came to pick up are dogs and had a pay 95 dollars for the shots they gave them and told us that they didn't need when u brought them in and again didn't let us know about this and when we picked them up we were ignored for like 5 mins well the people on front desk were talking about there weekend and not even a hello nothing then once she finally asked us who we were picking up she handed us are dogs and she didn't say anything about how they were nothing .then when we bring are dogs home one of are dog was so distance and we didn't know why because she such a happy dog so it was very weird for her to be that way because she has been away from us before so we found it very odd.

I would never take my animals here again, and would not recommend this place to anybody. My two cats were coming down with something, coughing sneezing. I took them to this place and they sent me home saying they were fine and to wait it out. The next day my cat was having trouble breathing and I phoned back while the receptionist told me if they are not having any yellow discharge wait it out. one of my cats ended up in the pet hospital on the other side of town that night open mouth breathing and being diagnosed with bronchitis and she is now on medication i am thankful for the pet hospital who actually took the time to assess my cat unlike this awful place who didn't have the time of day for me. The next morning after receiving a prescription from the pet hospital vet my boyfriend ended up going to this place to pick it up ( only because it was the only one that said it was open online at 7:30 which is before he starts work). When he arrived the receptionist was extremely rude to him and told him they cannot help anyone till 9am. overall this is a useless vet and would NEVER return.

I recently moved from the GTA to Belleville. I have had dogs all of my life, 70 years. I wish commend Loyalist Veterinary Hospital on the absolute best care, kindness and compassion afforded to me and my mini schnauzer, Zakari. The women at the front desk are very kind, very gentle and very compassionate and are a wonderful asset to LVH. The vets are amazing, calling my home to follow up, which, by the way, is the FIRST time in my life I have experienced that with a vet. Unfortunately, my little dog had to leave me. When Zakari's ashes were returned to LVH, I went to pick them up. I was greeted with condolences when I announced why I was there. When the lady retrieved Zakari's ashes, she noticeably carried them lovingly and respectfully and handed them to me with care and compassion. The very difficult visit to LVH was softened and will be forever remembered. My experiences with Loyalist Veterinary Hospital and it's vets, particularly Dr. Pang, almost makes me want to get another dog just to have the lovely interactions with the staff. Thank you all. You will be highly recommended to anyone with pets.

They are really helpful. I went there many times in a short period for my cat. The veterinary took time to talk with me and try to find solutions to my cat's behavior. The pet's curbside is ok but sometimes the phone line can be busy and wait to pay.

Our dog was very sick. She was collapsing. We called for an appointment and were told they were booked. We asked if we could take her to another vet for testing, and send the results to loyalist for treatment. We were told that was fine. When we called back with the results, we were told we are now inactive customers and can no longer book appointments with them for our pets. We had been loyal to them for nearly 18 years.

I have been going this veterinary hospital for over 11 years now and have always had great service and felt that my dogs were being taken care of when I had them in for their surgeries and appointments. I had both my dogs fixed at Loyalist Veterinary and was very pleased with the entire process right down to the recovery. The laser surgery they do with the buried dissolving suture's they use is great! I cannot even see where my dogs had their incisions and they are both very short haired dogs! I would recommend this office to anyone as they have great service and the vets are soo friendly!
