Now this business gets a score of 3.6 over 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is very high, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we can conclude that the rating is very accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Veterinarian.
We took one of our cats to this location as they were the only local vet that was open on a Sunday - I feared that the costs would be higher given the emergency nature of the location - however, the prices were very, very reasonable! The front staff was very kind and helpful, Dr. O'Sullivan was amazing! She took her time making sure to discuss the diagnosis process and treatment options with us, and displayed a genuine concern and care for the welfare of our cat. Looking at some of the negative reviews, I can't imagine that these people came to the same place as we did, as I would strongly recommend anyone who has an emergency need to come to this location. Doing some research of our own prior to the appointment allowed us to have a meaningful discussion with the Dr., and at no point in time did we feel as though we were being pressured into a service or medication that was unnecessary.
This place in my opinion started out with good intentions, but has turned into a money-grab veteranary operation in Barrie. The staff will upsell you on everything. Even the simplest of request will cost you a fortune! On top of being financially gouged, you will be faced with drama every single time your pet needs the simplest of attention. It is not worth the financial burden or stress when there are other vets in the area.
After 4 days of my most precious baby dying, I came to say This is one of the worst vet i have been too...had me on a limbo for 3 months...with no exact diagnosis of what was going on with my pet. Plus they charge and arm and a leg, after going there for 3 months, almost every week for blood work they would want to charge me for "check up". Good luck if you bring your dog there all they do is take your money! & not care for your pet!
Took my dog there last night after he was quite lethargic/not eating much, and they got him in quickly. It was about 1.5 hours from start to finish which I was happy about. I thought it could take hours and hours. They ran some on-site tests and gave us a pretty thorough explanation, and discussed all costs before proceeding. A bit expensive but it is also an emergency vet service so that is to be expected. They were fast, helpful and knowledgable.
My 9 year old small dog got very sick last weekend up north. We found O Sullivans to be open 24/7 and rushed him in. The office was incredibly clean and welcoming. The staff were very nice and efficient. When we saw Dr O Sillivan she was so kind and cared about my dog and although he was very very sick she explained everything in detail that we understood. She did everything she could to help him even helping us get him to an animal hospital closer to our home. A few days later the clinic followed up on my dogs status it was very much appreciated. Will definitely be keeping this place in mind in case of future emergencies.
I will never personally do business with this hospital. Over the phone, they are so rude, short with you, and act as if you’re wasting their time calling them. I had a friend who worked there who warned me how superficial they are there, judging you if you can’t afford medication for your pet and gossiping about clients behind their backs.. very unprofessional. On top of it, they are trying to kick a local business out of the Letitia Heights plaza by the name of Paezano’s pizza and I would rather see them leave..
TERRIBLE! my dogs foot is obviously dislocated and all they did was give it a shot and stating that no dislocation was shown on the X-ray—when clearly, there was a clear indication her foot was bent. They said It will all be OK by itself. $540 dollars for nothing. We went to vet in Mississauga and the doctor found confirmed dislocation to my dogs foot. BEWARE!!! Don't risk going to this clinic
Great place to care for your animal when they're sick
Very caring and supportive through a trying and emotional time with one of our puppies. Very surprised when they offered a "no charge" follow-up visit. The most amazing part was that they called at least 3 times after our visit to check on our dog ... This certainly showed a level of care and compassion that I have not experienced at other veterinarians.
Love this clinic! It's great to have a clinic that is open 24/7 and doesn't charge emergency fees. The doctors are very caring and compassionate and take the time to thoroughly examine our pets and provide us with detailed information. With a family of 5 pets, we are frequent visitors to O'Sullivan. The staff are all very warm and welcoming and treat us like family. They always follow up to check and see how our pets are doing after going in for an appointment. One of our pets is currently experiencing health problems, and Dr. O'Sullivan has been great at taking extra time to research what she thinks could be the cause and provides us with options to help us further diagnose and treat. Would recommend this clinic to everyone!
Great vet and 24 hours.
This is the only place I will ever take any of my pets! They are equipped with the best staff that are in turn equipped with amazing knowledge, and they genuinely care for your furry friends. Thank you a thousand times to the team at OAH.
It costs over ×3 more for my dogs blood test then it does for me to get one, over $30 just for taking the sample and over $200 more for a test? Almost every time I go there becuase my dog has something minor going on they try to tell me I need to leave my dog there overnight and try to sell me like $2000 worth of services. Yet when they do all these tests they never find anything. I could see how a worried owner might just pay the bill and not question it but it's wrong in my opinion. Feels like you're being taken advantage of for caring about your pet.
Chai, our loyal and trusted 14 and a half year old companion had taken a turn for the worst after 2 strokes in the past month. It was after 8pm and all the other places in our area were closed, but we didn't want him to suffer all night till the nearest clinic was open so we brought him into O'Sullivan. The staff were very compassionate and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. It was a tough time for us but the staff did their best to help us through it. As to the cost, it was certainly within reason for a hospital open 24/7.
Wonderful staff that is very knowledgeable
Great compassionate staff you can tell really care about what they do, 24hrs 7 days a week emergency walk-in services! Fully equipped facilities they're the Hospital that other clinics recommend due to their capabilities I rest easier knowing that O'Sullivan's is there for my family ???? I found them after being refused emergency services from 3 different vet clinics they're upfront about fee's and a care plan. I wholeheartedly recommend them for any of your furry family members medical needs it would be great if more clinics were this level of care even then I'd still go to O'Sullivan's thank you all so much for what all of you do and the level of care your great staff provide for my little man ???? ???? truly grateful ????
Refused my first nation's tax exempt at point of sale gave me a 500 dollar bill over priced should of looked at other vets as I called around after and could of had all the same stuff done for my animal at a lesser price at the time of sale was told dont know how to exempt taxes need to come back tomorrow so I showed up next day and had the manager refuse it after I paid in good faith wasted my time will never come back to this place advise others to look around so much cheaper they do not care about your animals or proper service to customers they just want your money they tried to sell us more on our cat telling us to buy and over priced cat food along with flea meds for an indoor house cat in an apt that showed no signs of fleas tried to have us keep her over night we refused will never come back rather drive long distance to somewhere else with our 3 cats
Great customer service
Fabulous care for our nervous dog having her nails cut, fast and professional! Busy staff took time to meet and greet the dog first
I think those complaining about the pricing should give their heads a shake. They're full service and 24/7 so that's a huge bonus if there's ever an emergency, it's a place you already know. We had to take our 2 kittens there when the landlord let them get into the fireplace soot (OMG), they fit us in for a bath right away and were so great with them. When it comes time for their next exam this year we'll definitely be bringing them here.
Quick service, although prices are too high, and not communicated very well.
Fantastic experience! Thank you so much O'Sullivans for saving our cat Zen! Highly recommended!
The cost being tight for money can be costly BUT with all 3 of my dogs o'sullivan has been helpfully and care for my pets as much as i do. with my 1st dog we lost o'sullivan did everything they could to save our dog and when they were unable to save our dog poor thing was too sick no one could do anything. o'sullivan cut what cost were they could as we lost our dog. with our second dog she was very old and when it was time to put her down o'sullivan walked us though what was going to happen(as i wanted to stay with my dog untill the end) they gave us our respected time and was very very understanding and helpfull. With my new puppy from day one they have been great to us & we will keep going there as I know my puppy will be take care of as if one of theres Love Molly(2004),Dusty(2010) & Paxs (Our little puppy) owner
Filled out a form online for a free first health check up for new patients and when i called to book it in and said my cat has a few bumps on her back they told me I can't bring her in for free because it is only for "healthy pets". Well.. That kind of defeats the purpose of a wellness check! Also, it never stated anywhere on the form i filled out it was only intended for healthy animals. They denied me and when i asked if i could speak to a manager, they said they would have the manager call me back. Its been two weeks now and NO ONE has reached out to me. I understand they're not obligated to do anything for free. But they wasted my time and now i get the impression they dont care about animals if they just push away a potential client. And before i even saw the free voucher i was planning on bringing my cat there anyways. Not anymore!
Amazing staff, they are friendly and passionate about what they do. And it's very convenient being open 24 hours
Thank you all for helping me and my mother with the end of my beloved cat's life on January 19th. For the rest of my life I'll always appreciate your kindness as well as you being there at such short notice and still allowing us to be there for him at the end even in the middle of the lockdown. You were all so gentle, helpful, and kind; I can't thank and recommend you enough. If I could give more than five stars I would.
We have been clients for a number of years, O'Sullivan took care of one of our cats in her final days and has been taking care of our dog for the last 4 years. We have given O'Sullivan 2 stars, they gave great care in the past however we have decided to leave their care and will not recommend them to anyone. It is unfortunate but if you want care that is focused on the best interest of your pet then this is no longer the place to go for vet care. Our review has nothing to do with cost of services it is only in relation to a vet at O'Sullivan not considering of what is in the best interest of our farm dog.
Daniella was exceptionally helpful, and took the time to ask all of my worrisome / slightly excessive questions. Will take all of my feline future health here!
Open at 2 in the morning. Very sincere staff, helped me through the loss of my baby
Staff was very kind and supportive. Vet went above and beyond and was fully transparent with testing/prices.
Honestly a pretty disgusting and soulless place that seems more profit-driven than anything else. They seem to play with your emotions in order to extract ridiculous charges from you. They're far more concerned with pushing additional costs on to you as opposed to actually getting anything done. Only go here if it's an emergency and do not let them push you around.
I absolutely recommend this place. They really care about animals and treat them with a tenderness I don't see very often from clinics. They do their best to squeeze in appointments when there are pet emergencies, explain what's wrong in a language you can understand, super gentle with your fur babies, and also perform follow up calls to make sure your pet is performing well. It makes me so happy beyond words when they do this because it makes me feel like my pet means something to them. It's a little thing, but means so much when you are worried. Although we live quite the distance from this place, we make the trek every time because we know our fur baby is going to be in good hands. Thanks for the continued care and attention you give to our pet Bella when we bring her in. It means the world to us.
Very good service and the prices are reasonable. They work very fast and show very good results.
Very nice well laid out place. Vet was professional and could answer my questions in laymans terms.
All of our fur babies go to O'Sullivan's for their regular visits and emergency. They always have doctors available to us when needed and always address issues to their full extent. When to comes to billing, they give you budget recommendations and then further exploratory options which cost more money but help rule out the more serious stuff. When you read the negative reviews, you really do need to take it with a grain of salt. Most of them are emergency patients from people that are not used to having to pay for medical expenses. As Canadians, we get used to having all diagnostic and advanced medicine covered 100% and we have no idea how much this actually costs the hospitals to perform these procedures. When it comes to vets, you get your first glimpse at the actual costs. American's are used to paying through the teeth for medical procedures so when it comes to animals, they are far better educated. I would recommend O'Sullivan to all my friends, family and business relations with no concerns.
While we hate to have to go to the vet, we love going here. Dr Duff is the most caring and patient vet we have ever met. The whole team are amazing, and so is the facility. We hope we don't have to see you again soon, but we are glad to know you're there when we need you.
I brought my dog in for an emergency surgery and everything seemed to go fine until we got home. He ended up getting an infection in his vein from where they put the IV in. His leg was twice its size and he couldn't stand! I brought him back in and they re-assessed him for free, which was nice. They wrote down the name of the vein infection and assured me that it wasn't because their instruments were unclean, but it was because IVs sometimes disrupt the vein and cause trauma. I looked it up and they seemed to be correct, although bacteria was another possibility. After the antibiotics were nearing the end I called again because he was still badly limping (the surgery had nothing to do with his leg by the way). I asked if he could have his antibiotics for his vein infection extended because he was still limping and the lady who answered got furious. She said that dogs at that hospital do not get vein infections and accused me of accusing them for using dirty equipment. I was really confused because I was simply asking for more antibiotics. I told her that and read out the vein infection name the vet wrote down for me. She refused to admit that he had a vein infection! I asked her why he was on antibiotics then and she said she didn't know because my chart was too long so she didn't have time to read it all. I told her I'd only been there twice and it couldn't be that long. I asked if she could please check so I could get more antibiotics because he was in a lot of pain. She wouldn't admit that he was even on antibiotics! It was the strangest experience and it made me wonder if they had made some sort of mistake. I found it strange that they kept assuring me that their hospital was clean and the vein infection wasn't their fault when I'd never accused them of that. I get that things happen and I just wanted my dog treated whatever the cause because he was in so much pain. I ended up having to go to another vet because my dog still couldn't walk a month later after the surgery. They gave him pain medication and was shocked at this story. I used to work as a vet tech for 5 years and I've never had such an unprofessional experience. I wouldn't trust them with a goldfish.
Absolute money grab! Having been a recent client of this vet hospital, my first visit with them was great (expensive, but great). They took their time, were nice people and helped me find out my dog has allergies to chicken and grains. My dog is a handful at the vets as while I was in school I had taken him to a recommended vet up in Peterborough and it was so dramatic for both him and I he is now terrified of the vets. So this was a good thing for them to take their time with him. BUT after an accident my dog came into contact with chicken and grains two weeks later which caused him to have the worst rash he has ever had. Knowing they were brutally expensive and me being s recent grad with little money (but still concerned about my fur baby) I called and asked if I could give him benadryl and see where that takes his rash as I know it's from his allergies and he was acting as if nothing was happening (just itchy). I was told on the phone to immediately come in and freaked right out that he could be in serious danger. Of course I went AND AFTER 135 DOLLARS was told yup, it's food allergies and yup give him benadryl.....being extremely unhappy with the outcome of the expensive visit and the serious miscommunication between the millions of vets and techs that work there, I asked for my next visit (which would have been this week for his shots) be examination fee free, as I should have never gone in there for benadryl advice in the first place. I was told one of the owners Trish or Brent would be giving me a call within two days to let me know if that was possible Guess what? It's a week and a half later and no call. I am extremely disappointed in this veterinary service and STRONGLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY I will be returning to his original vet here in Barrie, the south Barrie animal hospital as they also take their time, have a considerably less exam fee and always talk to me in normal people talk (not in medical jargon). I am serious, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!
I am writing this review to O'Sullivan Animal hospital for the consistent excellent care you have provided for our families pets over many many years our precious animals. Last week, during a difficult time for one of our magnificent dogs, we were fortunate to have Dr. Sarah Baert and her wonderful assistant Page come to our home for a "quality of life" assessment for our beloved Lab Roxy girl. I am so grateful for the sensitivity, compassion, knowledge and wisdom you brought to walking us through the process of coming to peace and saying "goodbye" to our family pet of 13 years. We are so glad we decided to let her go at home with our family and her " best canine buddies" Lola and Kobie. What a difference you make for so many!
Worst vet in barrie by far! They over charge for everything and scare you into doing tons of unnecessary tests. The few times I’ve been here when my regular vet was not open, I got a second opinion from my regular vet afterwards and every time the amount of tests were unnecessary. They talk down to everyone. And they clearly don’t care about the animals. Handle them rough and don’t give them a chance to calm down If they’re nervous. My dog doesn’t mind going to the vet normally but after one visit here he was stressed the next time he had to go for a check up. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!
I was very very happy with the staff at this 24 hour vet hospital. So i truly don't know why anyone would give it 1 star. From the time we got there to the time we left , we were treated with respect, compassion and understanding. Having to bring my 5 month old kitten in for breathing problems and not eating for 3 days, they showed us they cared. Everything was explained to us step by step. We were never pushed into a decision , by them. We were given what they thought was wrong with my kitten Zelda. In the end I decided to euthanize . They were very kind and I thank the staff. People have to remember that veterinarian's aren't God but they have to start somewhere to find out what's wrong with your furry family member. Animal's can't talk to the vet but the veterinarian really really trys her best. Thank you again to the staff. I RECOMMEND THIS 24 HOUR VET HOSPITAL. I'm still upset about the lots of my kitten and it will take a while to get over her. Thanks again ????
i called them re one of my puppies that wasn't doing well, and just moving up here from the city was told to come here and i was told on the phone that i would give a consultation and then would be quoted a price for the care, well i arrived at the hospital and they told him in, and wasn't a couple of seconds one of them came out and said he was going into arrest and do i want to try to recess him they told me 250 which i thought was high but wanted to give him a change of life, then about maybe another 5 or 10 mins was told they tryed but he didnt make it,, they could really tell me why this happened, but gave me maybe this or that ,then when i went to pay bill it was not 250.00 but 363.00 and i ask why that amount they said for the exam. which not only was i not told about but why ? i dont understand what exam if he had passed on why.. and plus i was never told that there would be one and i think that this is not fair, its bad enough losing a friend i was going to hopefully have them as my vets but how when i cant trust them. my vet in the city would have not be looking at monies but the care for my pet,, its a shame that its the way it is ,, but anyway I am going to pursue this matter re the cost not at all fair and i feel that more people should be aware.. i put a call into the office once i got home and hopefully someone will call back with a solution to t his matter..... Update: was talking to Heather and we were able to resolve the matter and I am very happy to say Thank you Heather for your help...and will be coming there again...
Good environment but price is too expensive, I got my kitty Vicente done for about $160 each time. With same service and Vincent in Toronto only take $95 after Tax.
My family has been clients at osullivan for approximately 13 years. In previous years it has been fantastic, they were so caring with our animals that we couldn't even think of going elsewhere. The past couple of years with my cat has been quite ridiculous.. first I brought her in because I thought she was getting sick, so I had a check up for her. The cost for that plus the medicine was ridiculous, but I figured it was for her health. So oh well. Most recently I was getting her vaccines updated, and I figured that getting her hair cut would be convenient. As a kitten she needed to be sedated because of her stress, but in the past 4 to 6 years, with her being a mature cat, she's been okay without it. I get her groomed twice a year at petsmart in under an hour without problems, so I figured everything would be fine at an animal hospital. The option of sedation was continuously pushed on me, but because of the cats reaction last time (2 weeks of being incredibly lethargic) I decided that I didn't want it. Then blood work was recommended to see if sedation would be a problem, which based on her history of lethargic reactions with sedation, I felt it was unnecessary because I KNEW the sedation would be a problem, especially with a 13 year old cat. It was more money out of our pockets when it wasn't necessary. They went ahead with the groom, and ended up sending my cat home just over half shaved! and still expected the full payment! I asked if a partial payment could be completed instead so that I could speak to the manager about paying for a half shaved cat the following day, but it was out of the question. If I wanted to wait to pay, I had to wait to get my cat. Okay... so I paid and awaited the call by the manager. During the conversation with the manager, because "time was spent and there could have been potential injuries" any type of discount was out of the question. I completely understand that work was done, and someone has to get paid, I wasn't asking for free service, I was asking to be met half way as now I have to go somewhere else and pay again for her grooming to be completely! But because sedation was offered as an option, and I decided not to go with it due to her health, any type of discount was unavailable. In the many experiences over the years, I can see it has changed to be more about money than it is the customers. I find this situation completely appalling. The fact that I had to pay full cost for a half completed job without any leeway or possibility of negotiation is ridiculous. Based on the changes over the years, I think our options will have to be changed as well.
The best animal hospital in Barrie... They have full surgical theatre complete with x-Ray and scanner... There really is nowhere else like this. All staff are well trained and experienced and extremely courteous...
Do not satisfied with service! Brought my dog with visual evidence of skin problems, all dog was covered with sores, she lost weight. For more than 900$ Dog had blood test and X ray, vet was looking for evidence of cancer!Nothing! After that I was offered to do ultrasound for my dog- for another 900 $!Plus they gave me two tablets against worms. I understood - they not sure what’s going on with my dog. On my question about skin condition, they answered- This is a result ob general weakness ! I had to call to vet from back home , send her pictures of my dogs skin condition, she recognized immediately dangerous skin infection, my dog was dying slow! She prescribed antibiotics -Synulox250, I ordered it immediately. And after one month of therapy my dog recovered, now getting weight and new hair on place of sore. So , please, think twice before to come to this hospital, they like money more than our pets!
Very rude staff. I have two dogs I bring to this animal hospital and I will never return after today’s treatment from an employee. I was parked in a marked parking spot in the plaza ( legal parking spot) when an employee from the animal hospital pulled me out of a store to move my vehicle so she could get by instead of going around because the restaurant put their garbage bin in the way of the road. Then proceed to verbal assault me and give my the finger and drive away then walk back into Oh Sullivans animal Hospital. Not sure I deserved this treatment I did nothing wrong. These type of employees scare business away. We will drive across town now before we ever return to this place.
This past Sunday my 9 year old lab started showing signs of laboured breathing. My normal vet was closed and so I decided to try o’ Sullivan’s for the first time . We saw dr shad and he ran a bunch of tests . A couple hours later we found out his lungs were filled with blood That was most likely caused by a cancerous tumor. It all happened so fast .... we weren’t ready to say goodbye but this vet made sure that Oakley was taken good care of during the whole process . We were given tons of time to say goodbye and everyone was so polite . Thank you dr shad for doing the best you could and to the staff that took care of oaks in his last hours . We will forever miss our boy.
Absolutely amazing ! This clinic came to our rescue when our puppy was experiencing post op complications from a procedure at a different clinic. The vet was very compassionate and explained everything to us. Our puppy ended up being transferred to critical care in Toronto thanks to the help of this clinic. They saved our puppy.
The doctors and staff here help Ozzy twenty-four hours a day... he was very sick when they met him and now he's doing amazing ...THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for all your help best veterinarian clinic in Barrie Ontario
We took our sweet pup here from Toronto for a massive surgery, and were totally blown away by the care, compassion and understanding they showed us. A vet even came in on her day off to help out. They were very patient with my frequent follow-up calls, and if we'd lived closer, we would've certainly taken advantage of their free follow-up appointment. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Bo!
open 24 hours!!!
Great people and caring professionals
The word incompetent is the first thing that comes to mind. Won't waste my time or money at this clinic again.
Called to ask a simple question "is pumpkin ok for my cat to help with a hair ball" ... the lady over the phone said she would have to examine my kitty and it was illegal to give medical advice.... I told her that I didnt feel it was medical advice I was just asking if pumpkin is ok for cats.. she rudely told me actually it is medical advice so I can not say but we are open 24 hours if you want to bring her in and have her examined ... I called another vet clinic and I got the information I needed. These people are just money hungry not willing to help.. she made me feel my kitty was dieing and added to my stress I was already feeling ...
Not safe for animals. My dog slipped a disc and was in a lot of pain. The vet insisted it was imperative that a blood sample be taken. Long story short, after wrestling my injuried dog for 30 minutes for an unnecessary blood test my dog was far more injured than when i arrived. Then charged us an additional fee for an opioid to cope with the abuse they caused.
Horrible experience. I'll never come back here ever again. I would never recommend this vet to anyone
The Doctor was extremely thorough and patient while we tried to understand our options. The staff were very kind and accommodating. This is a holiday weekend and my beloved dog was seen immediately so I was grateful for their attentiveness to my situation. My dog was anemic and bleeding internally. It was explained that her kidney disease was incurable and they offered me options as I had requested. In the end we are choosing to put her down as the most humane alternative.
We have been going to O'Sullivan for close to 10 years. We couldn't be happier with Dr. Anne Watson's exceptional care of our dog who has hip dysplasia. Throughout his diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Watson has provided us with excellent information and given us with many options for his treatment plan and pain relief. She is an amazing vet who has been kind to our whole family and her efforts have made such a dramatic change for our dog's comfort and quality of life. Our 12 year old Golden who passed a year ago was cared for by O'Sullivan Animal Hospital for most of his life. He received quality care and was always greeted warmly by the staff there. His cancer diagnosis, palliative and end of life care was outstanding. We were given all options and informed of all possible costs and outcomes when it came time to make difficult decisions. Whenever we were concerned he was not comfortable, the staff promptly responded and addressed our concerns. We could not have asked for a better passing for our beloved Golden. The staff were exceptionally compassionate and we had a lot of comfort that he died the most comfortable, peaceful and loving environment possible.
Extremely satisfied with the care and attention they gave my dog. We had previously went to our home vet and they didnt help us much in reality of the situation. So later on as he got worse we went to osullivand and got an exam we were able to watch and input information on and talked through all possibilities and solutions. They even called neurologists for us to go to and made the appointment. They were extremely patient with us calling them and taking time for us to make a decision with what direction to go. With that they are also open 24/7 !
Very friendly and accommodating staff, clean reception and check-up rooms, staff handled our "unfriendly" dog perfectly (he's a little aggressive with strangers), hours are great and the vet worked towards finding the best possible solution for our dog's health problems. Prices are a little high, but they give you the quote upfront and offer alternatives available. We've been to many other vets and O'Sullivan's is our favourite.
I have brought two of my dogs, Star & Max when it was their time. They are compassionate, and caring. It was also so nice and thoughtful to receive a sympathy card from Dr. Samantha...Thank you so much, very much appreciated.
Amazing care, compassion and high level of medicine. O'Sullivan Animal Hospital goes above and beyond for their patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Just visited for the first time with my Black Lab mix and they were great. Regular rates for 24 hour service which was great for a 3am visit since I work nights and was quiet for my guy who is excitable. They offered options and explained in detail what was going with his ear infection and hematoma. Was skeptical at first but was a great first visit.
Friendly and good service. Plus the fact that they're 24-hours, can't go wrong
Amazing experience every time I've been! The staff is very kind and caring, I love how they direct their attention to my pets; making them feel comfortable. The prices are affordable and the help they provide is exceedingly helpful. I always leave there feeling relieved, all my questions and concerns are always dealt with. The environment is very inviting and everyone is very friendly. Also they are open 24/hrs, perfect for any emergency. Would highly recommend! Thanks again O'Sullivan Team :)
It seems recommending a Vet is highly dependent on not only ones experience but perspective. I believe the vets here at least the one I saw was great. It was expensive but animal care is not cheap and Vet school is not either. Ive noticed other vets have similar ratings its either 1 star or 5 star no in between based most likely on the Client not the Clinic given HUGE emotional bias. That's my observation I typically dont comment but feel it's unfair that the circumstance and client expectations are so harsh.
We took our beloved family dog to O'Sullivan's because she became very ill on a weekend. Although we very much like our local vet, we were extremely pleased with the quality and level of service that we received during a very difficult time.
Not happy with the care that was given to my cat at this vet hospital. Took my cat here and they tried to sell me on $3000 worth of test and x-rays when all my cat needed was a catheter. I paid for a bladder drainage because that’s all they would do for my cat. The vet was not concerned about the well being of my cat, only about the money. Ended up leaving with a cat still in pain and going to another emergency vet clinic which actually helped my cat. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone.
Very expensive, for simple visit
I brought my cat here for the first time to be fixed and get shots done. Without hesitation the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything to me regarding my cats health and instructions. I’ve never had a vet take such better care of my fur baby than at O’Sullivans. Thanks for the excellent care!! Highly recommend if your looking for a new vet!
Great place to take your pets, they are very thorough, give you lots of options with amazing staff
Vet techs were terrible, always offered to find out or see, than left me standing outside the clinic never to return. Or came back outside for another customer. The Vet was very nice. Happy to have a 24/7 Vet offered.
All they care about is money not the pet it costed us 2500 for are puppy everything we went there they wanted more money on the spot don't bring your pet there please
Our senior cat clearly had an abscess on his back and was in a lot of pain. We knew what the problem was right away because our dog had the same issue last year. But because of his age, they refused to look at or treat the abscess without first doing a full medical (at the cost of $3000) just incase he had other medical issues too. He's 18+ years old, chances of him having other issues are quite possible, but that was NOT what we were there for. We just wanted them to treat the abscess! But they refused. Unfortunately, this was at midnight on Saturday and no other vets were open. After paying the $109 checkup fee (and not receiving any help from them whatsoever) and then taking him home, we had to take care of him ourselves. This morning the abscess burst and we have an appointment with a different vet tomorrow to get it drained properly. In the meantime, we are just taking care of him ourselves, no thanks to O'Sullivans.
Found the atmosphere very suffocating. When I tried to go and talk with my mother about our animal, they would not let us be alone and followed us outside. Then when we needed to talk to someone about how long the procedure was going to take (getting a fish hook out of my dog's nose), we were waiting about forty minutes before someone finally showed up to talk to us. I wouldn't take my dog within a mile of that place! It took them about eight or nine hours to get a hook out of my dog's nose. They were rude when we brought our cat in as well, months earlier. No thank you to O'Sullivan's!
What a disgusting excuse for an animal hospital. The veterinarian that I dealt with should have her licensed revoked. Please never take your animals there.
I had to rush my dog into the Hospital on Christmas Eve due to an emergency. I was worried that given the holiday there may be extensive delays. However the staff was extremely prompt and took my dog in right away. They were very kind and phoned me directly several times to update me on my dog's condition. The Vet also phoned me directly and provided a thorough rundown of bloodwork results. Once my dog was back home, they followed up a few times to ensure she was recovering well. I highly recommend bringing your pet here.
Brought our kitten in one night, I was certain this was urine/bladder related issue but they decided to treat for diarrhea (even though there wasn't any diarrhea in his box before we went or after when we came home). He was still worse the next morning, straining in the box, only producing small amounts of urine, NO diarrhea still. Brought back and viola, he has a bladder infection. Treated for that and he's back to normal. Wish we didn't waste time/money on the imaginary diarrhea.. but I was impressed that they didn't charge emergency fees, no wait time and offer a free recheck within 14 days.
NOT RECOMMENDED The vet was not compassionate and only wanted to treat my very ill cat insofar as there was money involved.... I refused to sign him over to the vet for what I considered experimentation and, ultimately, he had to be put down.
For people complaining about the cost of a vet please read your tax return thoroughly every year OR get pet insurance. O Sullivans is a nice place to take your animal. Lots of staff being available provides you with help in a timely manner. If your animal is not doing well you can be assured a vet will be able to assess them quickly. Follow up calls and the staff at the front desk go above and beyond.
Money hungry vets, they want money just to ask a question. Won't provide any answers and told us activated charcoal had to be prescribed when you can go to health food store and figure out the dosage by weight, thankfully we called another 24hr vet in Newmarket and they were wonderful and told us the dosage for weight to make sure we were correct and said call back if we have any other questions.
I cant thank everyone enough for the prompt and caring attention given to our pup after a nasty dog bite this weekend. She is recovering really well.Really great team.
This is a blessing to have a 24/7 Animal Hospital. I wish we had one up north. The staff were so kind and caring. I am very pleased with the service I received. You get what you pay for, my fur baby got excellent care and there is no price tag on that! I am lucky that I have Pet Insurance. They even sent a follow up get well card, so sweet!
I brought my 6 month old golden doodle in and was told that she had Worms Her vagina was tucked inside her Ear infection Eye infection Possible heartworm And that her cornea was detaching The vet said she was in alot of pain and needed to be put down asap I took my puppy home and went to royal parkside where I was told she had an eye infection. A year later she's the most healthy dog ever My dog would have been put down for no reason had in trusted the vets opinion
Professional, compassionate staff!
i’d been going here for a while with my little kitty, unfortunately my kitty isn’t here today because this vet thought it was more important to rob a sobbing girl then to save an animal. i have this vet 3,600$ and i still don’t know why i had to say goodbye to my kitty. she was young and vibrant, she got sick and was throwing up a lot, we did blood tests, xrays, etc. if there was a test, we did it. still never knowing what was wrong...finally i was told to give a large sum of 1,500 for her to stay the night.. not even 24 hours i was called to come say goodbye to her. and on top of that, well i didn’t even have time to process, they are throwing more bills my way. paying to say a forced goodbye and paying to bring her home. fun fact. if you don’t have the money to cremate your animal. they will put it in a old box used for products... that’s what you pay for. this is by far the worst vet. murders.
I can’t express enough how amazing staff each and everyone of this clinic is Their true interest and feelings they develop for their lil furry patients My work hrs limit my options to visit reg clinic and just having them there for me whenever I had pick up medication for our Jerry or needed consultation it’s overall wonderful experience Thank you for your beautiful daily work
There when you need them! Super friendly staff and the compassion is always evident.
Had to bring my dog here and was so happy with the girls who were working. They treated him sweetly even though he was being such a baby. Got us in quickly and was strait forword about what i could do. I have read that their prices are high but for an exam, testing and basic medication i was expecting it to be much higher. Well worth the drive and I will be recommending to people i know.
I've only had to be here twice, and both were for wild rabbits. They are kind, and I appreciate the help they give. The building looks amazing, having dog entrance and cat entrance to help calm pet nerves.
Some vets fantastic, others seem to be more concerned with additional fees than helping pets. When our regular vet (Dr. Prost) is available, she's been very thorough and helpful, great with our dog and hasn't pushed expensive unnecessary tests. On two other occasions with other on-site vets, I've ended up paying over $1,000 and had to refuse expensive ADDITIONAL testing only to NOT find the problem. Most recently a dental infection was missed entirely when the vet took only the briefest of glances in the dogs mouth before recommended multiple extra-fee tests. We're taking our family dog & our business elsewhere. They were also initially sticky about sending our dog's metacam prescription to Costco where it's a small fraction of the price but have since come around and been helpful. The vet techs and support staff have all been great.
Our dog, Molly, swallowed a fish hook and line while on her daily walk by the creek. Surgery was the only option at our clinic, so we were grateful to O'Sullivan Animal Hospital for seeing Molly and giving us exception care. Using a scope, Dr. Pilon was able to remove the hook and line from her stomach. Within hours, Molly was back home. Our family is very fortunate to have met and been cared for by the staff at O'Sullivan Animal Hospital. Thank you from the Stephenson's
This veterinarian is probably the best in the city. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and professional. The office is open 24 hours a day, and they don't charge a premium for operating at unusual hours. They helped me care for my dog until her last day.
I used this clinic Sunday for the first time for an emergency visit. The exam fee was only $40 more than my regular clinic so I feel that was very fair. Dr Li was wonderful and explained everything to me and told me all costs up front. Staff has called twice since to see how he is doing. I hope I never have to see you again, but should another emergency arise I will return for your amazing service. Thank you for looking after my dog Levon on Sunday!
I am blown away by any of the negative reviews for O'Sullivan Animal Hospital. This review is a bit long, but I truly want to thank this clinic for all they have done for my family and our pet! My family initially came to this Vetinarian Clinic for an emergency with our dog. He was having seizure like episodes and we had taken him to another vet earlier in the day. He was not responding to the medication given to us by the first vet so we brought him to this clinic. When we came to O'Sullivan, the staff was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The vet was also extremely kind, gentle, and VERY knowledgeable. He did some tests and immediately diagnosed our dog, Pugsley, with Syncope (a heart condition). He was put on medication and was back to his old self for two years. We contiued to bring Pugsley to this clinic to ensure we were getting him the best care. When the heartbreaking time came for us to put Pugsley to sleep, we brought him to O'Sullivan. This was one of the hardest times for us as a family and this clinic and the staff made the worst experience a little better. For anyone commenting on the cost of this clinic, yes - it is a little bit more expensive but you will get the best service and care possible for your pet. It is more than worth the little extra it costs to visit O'Sullivan. We are so glad that we found you, thank you for everything you have done for us and the amazing care you gave to our family pet. We appreciate all the little things and big things you do and we would recommend you (and do) to everyone we know! We will be forever grateful for the comfort, care, and love we received from your staff and clinic!!
Dr Sullivan was absolutely amazing , we have a 9 year old chihuahua and I dropped him off in tears unsure of what was going on. She was through , compassionate and informative. She called with updates and was upfront and honest . The best experience I’ve ever had with a vet , I felt so comfortable and at ease with her looking after our little guy. Thank you so much
After our dogs passed away, the staff at O'Sullivan were more than accommodating with me and my family and made us feel at ease in our situation. I recommend O'Sullivan to all our friends they are caring and compassionate! High costs are inevitable when dealing with health problems in animals, for those of you complaining about pricing you need to reevaluate your priorities when it comes to care for your pets. O' Sullivan is priced very reasonably!!
It is awesome to have a 24/7/365 vet service without the extra fees after hours. A bonus to have vets covering a wide range of specialties, breed knowledge, and in-house lab. You rock!
Use this establishment for emergency reasons only. "The mechanic with the nicest shop convincing you to change headlight fluid for a small fee of 999.99 tax all in..." you get my drift. Please unless you make 6 figures annually do not let this newly renovated "tim hortons" with a drive through window convince you that they're integrity is the same condition as the building they reside in.
We had to say goodbye to our very much loved dog. The staff at O"Sullivan"s were not only professional but extremely compassionate and allowed our family to take as much time as we needed. I will always bring my pets to them!
Today we had to take our dog here unexpectedly as he hurt himself and appeared to be in pain. From the moment we called, to being seen and then to leaving the entire team was beyond kind and helpful!! Despite covid protocols and not being able to go in with him (which made us a little scared as trusting strangers) everyone was kind and reassuring and made the process that much better. Although we never met the vet in person she took time over the phone to explain everything and answer all of our questions. No further tests, meds or procedures were ever pushed on us and we were giving options and everything was explained. I would highly recommend them as we treat our fur baby as family and felt they did the same. Beyond thankful for the care and help and kindness we received today!! Thank you seems to small of words for just how much we appreciated all the help!! Thank you!
For such a sad time we had an amazing experience with these guys. Very helpful. Wonderful vets
I can not put into words how thankful I am for O’Sullivans..the saved my dogs life when no other vet clinic in this area would see him even tho he was screaming in the background…I can not believe how hard it is to find ppl that care about the pet and not they’re stinkin policies..If your looking for somewhere that is compassionate and cares for yourself pet then search no more cuz O’sullivans is by far the best!
Great vet, love their free nail trims. Especially love that when we needed after hours emergency care, they didn't charge any extra like a certain other emergency vet in the area. If you have an emergency, go here for sure. Open 24 hours. Took a while sure, but got the care we needed.
We brought our dog to O’Sullivan after our regular vet was too busy to see him. We used their 24hr service which was very fair priced. Nothing was pushed on us...they diagnosed him quickly with terminal and aggressive cancer. They were so kind...so informative...so patient ...they came up with a plan ...the followed up with us daily...they were so supportive. We brought our dog back emergently overnight to be put down and they were so caring and gentle. As sad as it was they made the process manageable and I will never go anywhere else.
Stay away from this place!!!
Thank you so much to all of the staff there. Although it may not have seemed like I was happy at all when i was there between all of the crying. The staff was so amazing and nice and compassionate. I had a really hard time saying goodbye to my cat princess but the staff there made it as bearable as possible. I just received a lovely card from the staff and from Kitty who had treated my cat. Just thank you, thank you, thank you <3
My dog let me know that "it was time" on a statuary holiday. I contacted O'Sullivans as my vet was not open that day. Right from that call they were compassionate and understanding. When I brought him in they already had a room prepared for myself and my family to spend our final moments with our best friend. They let us decide how long we needed and never rushed us. You could tell how much they cared and felt for what we were going through. They were so gentle with our boy and made sure his final moments were comfortable. They were not pushy but ensured I was aware of all the after care options and made sure all of that was taken care of first so we could just concentrate on our boy. And today I received a heartfelt condolence card from the vet herself. Their pricing is not outrageous. Trust me I've dealt with outrageous pricing with some other vets. Thankyou for being there for not just us but our boy at such a difficult time.
Our pet has been sick since Aug its now Nov we brought her to this vet as she wasn't getting better. At first we were happy with this clinic and trusted them and there advice. Spent over $1,600 the first visit to find out what was wrong with our pet to find out two doctors didn't read results properly causing us to come in and spend more money on testing it took causing a S*it storm to speak to the owner to find out after seeing two doctors our pet wasn't medicated properly. We were warned about this clinic and should have trusted opinions of others. Didn't help either when the Dr. comes in reading notes of cue cards....place is a total cash grab. This place doesn't have the best interest of your pet and the front end staff is very rude. The owner advised she would handle our case the next day our pet was lethargic with liquid diarrhea and vomiting call the office 3 TIMES from 9am till 3 pm with no call back and she was no where to be found as they were hosting an open house and couldn't take 10 mins to even call to see what the issue is its been 5 days and still had no call back from the owner no compensation to the additional money spend for further testing and wasted medication spent that our pet didn't need when all along they had the results just two Dr. weren't able to do there job properly.....some Dr. who really takes pride in there job and company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
We drove over 3 hours to go to O'Sullivan's on the recommendation of 2 friends. We can't be more grateful for your compassion and understanding in our most difficult hour. Our Sunny girl was very ill and in pain. Your amazing staff helped her cross the rainbow bridge in the arms of her Dad, with minimal discomfort. Thank you for showing true humanity. Our hearts are broken but we are comforted by the knowledge that she isn't in pain anymore. Thank you.
I cannot Say enough wonderful things about Trish & her husband & the amazing staff at O’sullivan Animal Hosital! The amazing care they have given my precious dog Bandit since he first took sick last year from acute pancreatitis. They saved his life than Jan of this year my poor Bandit developed Diabetes! They have helped me out so much with his care & their kind words to me. They always are so kind to my Bandit! I cannot say how much gratitude I have for Trisha & the wonderful staff at O’Sullivan Veterinary Hospital. They have gone above & beyond anything I could have ever expected! Thank you so much!! Pam & Doug Irwin
If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband brought our dog in on December 23rd to have his teeth and skin checked. After a brief once over he was sent home with a recommendation to have his teeth cleaned and nothing of concern with his skin. Upon returning home we found a small growth on his back and called O'Sullivan's the next day and mentioned what we had found. We were told we would have to pay an ADDITIONAL diagnosis fee despite having gone in SPECIFICALLY to have his skin looked at. I asked that a manager call me as they had already left for the day and I did not feel that an additional fee was warranted. As of January 6th I have not heard back from the vet. We bought out dog to Allendale where he was diagnosed with a skin infection that O'Sullivan's clearly either missed or blatantly ignored. If you value your pet AT ALL I suggest going elsewhere. He could have been on antibiotics much earlier to treat his infection had they actually done what we asked when we brought him in. They clearly care SIGNIFICANTLY more about getting whatever money they can from you rather than actually treating your pet. Do yourself and pet a favour and go elsewhere.
Do not recommend. Rather than start the treatment she agreed to start, with us, and our regular vet she wasted 10 hours. We had to pull our dog out and take her to another hospital. She told our vet she was 24 hours as well and they do not have an overnight vet on sight. Only a tech. Under staffed and stressed. Bait and switch. Do not go here. Did nothing she agreed to. Cost us $ 2,200
I had taken my dog for a short walk when it was very hot and humid (my bad :( . He fell ill during the walk and was very lethargic. I assumed right away that he had become dehydrated and I immediately called O'Sullivan's thinking they could give him a shot or something. They said to bring him right in. That's awesome! When I arrived they took him from me to "triage" him and had me fill out the appropriate paperwork. I thought that was good so that he could be taken care of right away :). After about 20 minutes they lead me to a room and brought him to me. He was still fairly dopey, but looked a little better. The vet came and basically told me that he had had some diarrhea and asked me a lot of questions about his health. She told me they could run a full blood evaluation of him if I wanted. She then left and another attendant came in to give me the details of what they could do ??? Full bloodwork = $600 +!!! Another service of lesser detail was over $200 which included a medication for the diarrhea. I was shocked! I knew he was dehydrated, but they wanted to dehydrate my bank account instead of just telling me that he would be ok. When I said that was way too much, she got snippy and said "Ok, but when he was in triage and had diarrhea he also shot blood across the room in it". What?? There was no evidence of blood on my white dog!! and if that had happened I would have thought that the Vet would have said this. I don't like writing negative reviews and it took me a long time to do this, but I think others should know about this very "glamorous" outfit. Beware, they lied to me about the health of my dog for monetary gain.
while we appreciate everything the staff did to save our dogs life, we don't appreciate charges not approved. there are 2 tests one is basically a half test done in hospital and the full test has to get sent out to a lab we were under the understanding due to poor communication that the witness test was of no charge then was surprised to see this on my bill. got the run around that a manager will call, my complaint was never taken seriously. the manager would call and not understand my frustration or they wouldnt know why they're calling me. then waited over 2 weeks for someone else to call to explain what the test is for. I completely understand the test I think its quite useless when a definitive answer is only a touch more. I am not a vet but I know in humans if your kidneys are having issues the last thing you'd want to do is take meds not necessary. here at osullivans apparently its normal to do a half test that could show a false negative and treat with meds anyways instead of the proper test that would give us a definitive yes or no. to me this sounds like money, the witness test is done in the facility the full test done at a lab. the full test is about 160 and the witness is 80 plus the antibiotics that he may or may not have needed. So basically its my fault I must have misunderstood, when I said no dont run the test, we've spent enough money and to not do the test because we're treating with antibiotics anyways i guess thats my fault I should have been more clear why on earth, when I'm spending 3000, would I not spend $80 more and get a definitive answer? we have dealt with osullivans before and we have had good dealings with them this has left a very bad taste in our mouth and now we question EVERYTHING that's on the bill... how many $30 to $90 charges are on there (that we paid for and add up quickly) that are of similar circumstance.. poor communication, stop talking to people like they're 5 years old and instead communicate. this review could have been 5 stars if they took my complaint seriously, poor review that could have been resolved and changed to a good review, all over $80. thank you for helping Cash, unfortunately after this happened midway through his stay, I began to have doubts and began to take the bad reviews on Google more seriously. we will likely use osullivans again but I will make sure they understand that ANYTHING CHARGEBALE IS TO BE COMMUNICATED AND APPROVED.
We had to go to O’Sullivan’s this morning and I can’t say enough about how amazing the service was. If I am going to a vet on a Sunday, I am expecting a high bill. I was actually pleasantly surprised that they didn’t charge an emergency fee for a Sunday 8 am visit. To those complaining about price, we were once charged $225 at a Toronto 24 hour clinic for them to tell us the dog was reverse sneezing. O’Sullivan’s is completely fair. They did a thorough check of our dog (I would say even more thorough then our regular vet in Barrie who has a 4.8 rating) and gave us a reasonable solution. We all get so emotional when it comes to our pets but If you want a definite answer then you will be doing a ton of expensive tests. If you want to try and rule certain things out then you may require a few visits. Get pet insurance if you find emergency vet treatments too expensive. Almost every pet will eventually need to go there. I am Extremely happy with the care and service I received today and I did not find that the hospital was just trying to get money from me and i definitely felt like the people there cared about animals.
I was able to get an appointment for 8pm on a Sunday. Amazing! With our busy schedule it's great that appointments are so flexible. Thank you!
I’m disgusted the way you treated my husband and our bulldog! We have been loyal customers for 4+ years ....we drive on the other side of town to trust that you would care for our 3 dogs and 1 cat. My husband went to you in a panic as our dog had a swollen ear ....he openly told you that he forgotten his wallet but would drive back home while you check on our loved dog but you refused. You said it would cost $100 so my husband asked if he could pay by “tap” on his phone but would need to do it several times due to limit amount but again you refused?! We have spend over thousands of dollars at your clinic and you couldn’t even try to problem solve?! You left my husband no option or choice but to carry our dog out of the clinic and bring him back home. My husband came home in tears ....and for turning your back on them I will never recommend your clinic to anyone and will make sure others will know this experience!
The Doctors were wonderful!!... The staff was very helpful!!..... Definitely come again!
Not happy with the service we had we waited 6 hours to have one procedure done which normally only takes 30 mins we were first told it would take 2 hours turned into 6hours I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Really great experience! We had our first visit the other day on very short notice, our regular vet couldn't take our dog for 4 days, but they got our dog in the day of and were very thorough and caring with our dog. The price was really reasonable considering they are 24hr. Would definitely recommend them to anybody.
simply put... They saved my pups life. She was bitten in the eye by a rattlesnake while camping. I can’t thank them enough. Staff were amazing and the vets acted really quickly. We’ve been to a lot of different vets, and I truly believe if we didn’t bring her here our dog might not have made it. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
prices are way to high (and being 24/7 shouldnt be the reason why. there are other 24/7 places that are cheaper), i went to 2 different vets, including osullivans and another 24 hour place for different opinions, o sullivans just seemed like they wanted my money becuase they "couldnt find anything wrong" after 2 visits and just wanted me to spend more! when the second vet saw my pet they found the issue in less then 30 minutes and costs half! unless you have money to burn or is absolute last option dont go here
Our dog tore her ACL and the female vet recommended glucosamine chondroitin supplements? come on this is a vet clinic not a homeopathic clinic, use evidence base medicine please - wasted hundreds of dollars.
Nicest staff at any veterinary I've ever met. The doctors care about your pet first and provide a number of treatment options that work for you. They are judgement free, knowledgable and caring. Very pleased with the care my pets have recieved here. 10/10 would recommend to any pet owner.
Can definitely be pricey but the service here is fantastic.
Profit margin must be Huge for a few Minutes Exam for Over 100 Dollars I Need to Recover with 10 Hours of my Work. Not Descent. Even, I waited Over 30 Mins in the Room while the Vet was in and out. I Asked Her for the List of Shots Required (deworming and what not) and prices. That didn't happen. I had to have a written list of shots and prices that took over 10 mins to Provide. Shop around and check Reviews. That was my Mistake.
THE WORST!!! I am horrified by the treatment we received at O'Sullivan Animal Hospital this summer. We brought in our 9 year old schnoodle to be seen as an urgent care case because she had spent the day overheated, panting, twitching and not very responsive. After a brief examination which included some outrageously expensive blood work ($450), Dr, Watson told us that it was likely our dog had a brain tumour. We were then encouraged to say our goodbyes so that our dog could be euthanized. Myself, along with my 3 children, sat in the exam room with Isabelle (the apparently dying dog) sobbing and grieving at this sudden news and the idea of life without her. We decided to go home and spend some final time with her before taking her back to the vet to be put down. AND GUESS WHAT???!! We still haven't been back because THAT WAS ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO and Isabelle is still with us, still blind and hot and panting some days, but otherwise FINE. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC
Kind and caring. Took my dog right in. Didn't try to rack up a bill, took time to explain everything and gave options for treatment. They are fanstasic!
Hate going to this animal hospital. A simple visit turns into over a grand in bills. They're money hungry and show little care for your pet
I have been a pet owner for the past 50 years of either cats, dogs, fish and birds. I have been to many a vet clinic and have found O'Sullivan's to be the best veterinarian clinic I have encountered over the years. For the last 10 years they have given excellent care to my dog Rick and my cat Jersey. They have always explained about any tests or treatments that would aid in treating my pet's ailments. They always tried to work within my budget. This also holds true for any medications if they are needed. They give courtesy follow-up calls to see how your pet is doing after treatment or while on medication. To date I haven't had a bad experience in the 10 years I have been bringing my pets there. Every member of the staff, the vets, receptionist and the vet techs have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I would, have and always will recommend O'Sullivan Veterinary to anyone who is in need of a vet.
When my 19 year old fur baby wasn't doing so well I was beside myself and didn't know where/who to go to as I've never had an urgent situation with a pet. After some online research I called O'Sullivan Animal Hospital. From the intake to the initial exam to the vets recommendations all staff was kind and caring. They were very transparent with the costs and made sure to speak with me before any treatment was given. All and all they made the experience of getting my baby help very easy and clear. Would recommend to any pet parents that cannot wait for their regular vet to schedule an appointment.
Had a horrible experience here a couple years ago. I rescued my boy, Mr T, and his neutering procedure (done by the rescues vet) produced some complications. We made the choice to take him to O' Sullivan's as they were the only vet open at the time late on a Friday night. While the front desk staff was polite and courteous, that is where the pleasant experience stopped. The Vet that we saw, was clearly lacking a few things; experience and people skills to name a few. She seemed very unsure of what to do left the room a few times to consult the other vet on call. After she returned, she said that the bleeding would stop and she prescribed an antibiotic. We paid the bill and went home. No less than two hours later, the bleeding had gotten progressively worse. We rushed Mr T back, and got back in to see the same vet. Again, she didn't know what to do. She offered to prescribe more antibiotics, but we refused. Her final attempt was offering us a bigger cone for his head, which we ended up taking. We went out to pay for the cone, and we were charged again for the appointment, even though we had been there a few hours previous. We asked about the consult fee, and the girl said it was standard for this practice. I was just too exhausted to fight ( as it was approx 2 am and i had been up since 4:30 am the day previous), so we paid again. I asked that the records of the visits today be sent to my normal vet right away. I was able to get into to see my normal vet the following Monday. My normal vet was in shock. Almost no notes on the visits we had, which he was disappointed about. At the End, Mr T got fixed up by my normal vet quickly. I don't know if the vet on call was having a bad day, or was unsure. However, hundreds of dollars spent when all that was need stitches to be fixed. Hopefully this clinic has improved since my experience but looking at the latest reviews its a mixed bag.
I have taken my pets to O'Sullivan Animal Hospital over the last few years, despite having to travel some distance to get there. The vets and staff have always been treated me and my pets with kindness and clearly with a view to giving the best treatment in the circumstances. I recommend them without reservation.
I have brought my animals to this clinic for 6 years and always had good service until I had to euthanize my cat Nov 30th after she had a stroke. After much back and forth I had to pay $100 something for them to confirm yes my cat needed to be put down by checking her for a minute. After that they told me about the procedure etc and had me make the arrangements. The tech came in to give her a sedative before the euthanasia. I thought it was a lot for a small cat but she gave it and went and I pet my cat to help her calm down until I noticed her breathing had stopped. My cat passed away from the sedative and no one explained that could happen, just apologized after. On top of that, I was still charged full price for a service that didn't happen. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed with this vet. I may still bring my dog but I will be hesitant to come for anything except routine vaccines.
I took my dog(Serj) there a couple of weeks ago with two large holes in his skin. Great vet named Carol cleaned him up and prescribed him meds to fix him up. 13 days later when the hole is infected yet again I go back after beiung told on the phone its all taken care of since hadn't been two weeks since visis. Upon arrival I see the most rudest and inexperienced VET named HOFFMAN and told that after a few more hundred dollars all will be fixed!! I lost it walked out and still three days later the useless owners who I left messages for "Trish" cant be bothered to call me back!!! Do yourself a favor and go to Innisfil animal clinic!!!! BTW don't hold your breath for the owner to call you!!!
My pet dog Toby got really sick and I had no choice but to take him in on Sunday afternoon to have him looked at. The young lady vet asked to perform blood work which was $320. Based on the tests she explained that Toby needed a blood transfusion at the cost of between 3-7K as his red blood cells as well as platelets were very low. Next option was a strong prescription of steroids which I agreed to. My beloved pal Toby did not have a good night and was getting worse by Monday, he could not get up or even raise his head. I had to make a decision to put him to sleep when I brought him back on Monday afternoon. The receptionist was more concerned about getting the money first for the euthanasia, as I'm holding Toby trying to fill more paperwork. Please...Please. stay away from this place if you want what is best for your beloved pet. I spent just shy of $1000, and really didn't get an answer to his quick decline in health. They play on your emotions and they know that you will pay!
Had my Boston terrior in from a seizure. They explained everything and Dr Li was a amazing veterinarian. I was in at 330am as my dog just finsihed his seizure. They pre entered me in there system and welcomed me at the door. Immediately got me into a room. Even the front desk lady was super helpful This place despite the reviews is very recommended. They care about the animals that walk thru there door
Excellant price point and even better care quality, me and my 'kat' are happy:)
WORST VET CLINIC EVER!!!!! INCOMPETENT STAFF, OUTRAGEOUS PRICES!!! THEY GENUINELY CARE ABOUT MONEY AND NOT YOUR PET !! BUYER BEWARE!! MULTIPLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES!!
This clinic refused to provide my cat with more of his medication without coming in for a checkup. When we took him in for his check up, the vet immediately questioned why we even brought the cat in, as he was clearly in bad shape, and it was not time for his annual check up. The vet also mentioned house visits which were never mentioned to us before. Our cat died less than an hour from bringing him home from the vet. A trip that was never necessary but they refused to refill his meds even though it wasn't time for his checkup and the vet told us he wasnt in shape to be there. Thanks for nothing! Please take your loved ones to a place that actually cares.
Absolutely the best experience with a veterinary clinic ever!!! The team at O'Sullivan's cared for, loved and provided unconditional TLC around the clock! My cat Esther AKA Chester had a lengthy stay at O'sullivan's. After visiting I never once hesitated to leave knowing how well he would be loved and cared for. I would always hear the team treating other animals with so much love and care! The team would call twice a daily with daily updates on his health. I am so thank you we make the journey from Collingwood to Barrie for his care!! Thank you Team O'Sullivan!!!
Super helpful on a Sunday evening despite an unusual amount of emergency situations. They don't make enough to do what they do. Thanks so much for taking care of Ricky and explaining the plan.
We were truly amazed by the service of Dr. De Boer. We had to rush to the hospital late night with our kitten and Doctor answered all our questions and worries, after talking to him my anxiety level went down. I wish all the vet clinics had such an amazing Doctor as Dr. De Boer!
If I could give a zero I would. They felt around our 14 year old dog Lexi for a short time, decided she had an ear infection and prescribed (expensive) ear drops, which we took. We thought it was odd they didn't do any blood work or scans but felt the doctor knew best. A few months later, she started falling down when she was walking, and they said it was still just the ear infection throwing off her balance. We suspected something more serious was hiding and this time pressed harder for X-rays and blood work which they said would cost $1500. This cost seemed extremely high so we said we'd think about it, and they still charged $140 for the visit. We took Lexi to another vet who did the X-rays and work up for $400 and they found terminal cancer on her spleen, which was what was causing her to fall down. We asked for a refund on the $140 visit from O'Sullivan and - are you ready for this? - they refused, and offered free physicals for 12 months. Lexi has a month to live and they know it. What an absolute slap in the face. We have been taking Lexi there for many many years but something changed in the last couple of years. They do NOT care about giving caring, thorough care. How they could let this slip through the cracks is one thing, but not refunding the $140 visit - which was actually just a conversation - and offering free physicals in return is evil.
This was the best care our dog got. The staff was friendly and the prices are on par. Knowing they are a 24/7 hospital for your pet put the mind at ease. Will go no place else...
My past dog had been a patient here, the vets were always kind and every staff member is super friendly and truly show interest and love for the animals around them. With their help when he was in his old age and sick they helped us through the hard time of putting him down and let us have as much time with him as needed. I've currently got a new dog and gladly have brought him back. I made the poor decision to try and go a cheaper route to get my baby neutered at another cheaper vet's office (Barrie Animal Hospital) only for them to mess around and never actually book me in even when I double checked at the pre surgery check up. Finally I've had enough made a call the morning I took my dog in to get neutered (only for them to say he wasn't scheduled) and O'Sullivan's was able to schedule me in in only 3 days. I will from now on be staying with this vet and never try to take the cheaper route! (For a side note I found out that the other vet I was going to take him to originally was only 70$ cheaper)
Took my dog in today for a little emergency. Lady at the front desk was super nice. And the vet and veterinary assistant were very informative and patient. Would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. Thank you O'Sullivan Animal Hospital.
How dose 2 vets on 2 separate days miss my dogs abscessed teeth first visit was almost $600 don't no what I paid for. Went back 2 days later and they wanted $1500 dollars for more testing I kept asking about his teeth. Nope it's not his teeth. I went for a second opinion found out it was his mouth antibiotics and couple teeth out dog is good. When my dogs medical papers were sent to the new doctor they were not impressed with how little detail they were putting in the reports. They push for all this testing once I couldn't afford what they were asking for I have been their 10 years I was looking to make a couple payments. They told me to apply for a credit card. This place used to be excellent but since they expanded their service has gone down hill and it seems it's all about the bottom dollar. If you use this vet I would recommend to always get a second opinion.
Called yesterday morning to find out about dewormer for a kitten I had just rescued, was told by one girl how much it was going to cost. Drover over to pick up the medication and when I got there and called in the girl I spoke with (different than the first) very rudely informed me that they wouldn't give me the medication unless I booked an over priced exam with them... No worries though I found what I needed elsewhere. I will no longer be using this vet clinic and will find somewhere new to take my dogs.
The WORST vet in Barrie. Not only are they incredibly overpriced for everything, but now they charge $28 for a nail trim. $28! Are you kidding me? It takes 45 seconds. This used to be a free service 4 days a week between 12-4. It was the LEAST they could do for the prices they were charging for regular check ups, vaccines, flea and tick meds etc. I’m 100% taking my business elsewhere and my dogs have been going there for 15 years! Great way to lose business O’Sullivan!
A heart felt thank you to Dr's and staff on the evening of Thurs. May 30/19. Trip was loved by not only his family members for 13 years but also anyone who had the pleasure to meet him. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and we will always cherish the memories. Thank you to the 2 wonderful Dr's that evening for your care and compassion. It will always stay with us. Debbie McGaghey & Bryce Blais
Very fast service and such an amazing Vet. Saw Meagan Mullings and she was amazing. Tjey dis not charge me for anything unnecessary and their rates are extremely reasonable. So happy with the service that I plan to make them my regular vet.
Went to O'Sullivan Hospital Saturday night with my puppy who had an eye infection. Dr. Watson was really nice and seemed to be very knowledgeable. Puppy received medication that worked very well and issue has cleared up. For people complaining about the price - first of all this is a 24/7 facility. Those kind of hours mean higher costs which are of course passed on to consumers. I found their prices, while yes, higher than my normal vet, are very reasonable considering their operation. I am very thankful that Barrie has a 24/7 vet. Imagine what would happen if we didnt! My poor puppy would have had to suffer until Tuesday when I could get her in my normal vet (it was a long weekend). Very happy with my experience, although I do plan on staying with my current vet as I am extremely happy with their care and prices. That said, in an emergency or off hours, I would not hesitate to go to O'Sullivan Hospital.
High price points and they fully take advantage of people. Much better and cost friendly vets around town.
Very awful experience. The vet tech was utterly rude and both the veterinarian and tech showed little to no compassion for my fur baby.. I took him in with an ear infection and if its going to cost nearly a hundred to determine that then i would atleast like my dog to be cared for in a nicer manner. My last vet visit was at Ferris lane and the veterinarian there gave a thorough check AND treated my dog with an ear solution while there. It would of been nice for them to take into consideration that his ear was quite bad and its near to impossible to get the drops in.. after finding out there is a pill form you can take to treat infection.. would of been nice knowing the options prior to purchasing the drops. I am very disappointed and will not be returning.
I absolutely love this place. I've never experienced anything other than the best service for myself and my fur baby. The staff are so friendly, polite, helpful, knowledgeable. I'm so thankful for their 24 hour hospital unit, it has served useful to me recently. Without this service, it would have been a most stressful night. I would highly recommend, O'Sullivan Animal Hospital!
My dog fell very ill early on a Sunday morning 5 hours from home. O'Sullivan was one of the only open vet clinics, and I almost didn't stop by after reading some troubling reviews in here. Fortunately I had one of my best vet experiences ever. The Hospital looks almost brand new, every staff member I interacted with was friendly + caring, and my dog was seen right away. The veterinarian was very knowledgeable, presented me with a recommended treatment plan, and was very respectful of the approach I proposed. They were then able to turn around a full panel blood test that I would normally wait days for in less than an hour, and the costs of the visit were actually less than what I would pay at my non emergency vet at home. My home vet also got all the documentation from our visit right away, and we were able to continue regular care back at home seamlessly. I was in and out in a couple hours, my dog Lola bounced back to good health, and my vacation was saved. I wish this place was in Ottawa!
friendly staff, open 24hrs, reasonable prices, honest and they don't try to oversell
I visited O'Sullivan Animal Hospital this past weekend with my dog who was unwell. I was overwhelmed by the compassion and care I received from not only the Doctor but the support staff as well. I was given options for care and everything was explained to me in great detail. I realize veterinary care is expensive however I can not even imagine the costs involved in running such a magnificent facility. The comfort in knowing someone is there 24 hours a day 7 days a week makes these costs well worth it. Owning a pet is a financial responsibility which should not be taken lightly. I can only assume from my experience that the reviews which are negative were strictly due to the owners financial concerns which is no fault of the Animal Hospital.
I have never had a worse scare then I did this morning with my fur baby. He woke us up bright and early to go to the washroom, he progressively got worse, and very quickly. We rushed him to O'Sullivans since they were the closest but also helped us out in the past with our other dog. We had a Tech in with us within minutes, the Vet not even a minute after her, and Floki was in and being treated within the hour. Even though it's a hefty bill, if it weren't for the knowledge of the Vet my boy would've been much worse off. Our usual vet office advised we waited 24 hours, we had him in within 2 hours. They have called us 3 times already with updates (helps my anxiety level). The Vet was correct with her initial diagnosis and was so good with us. Sorry for the novel, I just couldn't be happier that they saved him.
About a month or so ago, I had to visit O'Sullivan because my puppy, Maisie, had cut her foot in several spots during our hike in the forest. And since I was visiting family up north, I was nowhere near my regular vet and every vet office near Gravenhurst was unable to take us. So, off we went to O'Sullivan! The wait was about 5-6 hours but, we were obviously not a near fatal emergency so I expected no less and completely understood. The ladies I spoke to on the phone and in person were so incredibly helpful with warning me about the wait time and giving me the option to give Maisie to them during the wait period because I didn't live close enough to just go home and wait. (I drove all the way from Bala to Barrie haha) I left her with them feeling like she was in good hands which eased my anxiety After the Dr checked her out, she called to give me her thoughts and kept me completely updated on what they were doing, have done, and might do (including medication, wound cleaning, tissue glue, stitches, etc). She was clear and gave me several options with her suggestions as well as detailed reports on her thoughts on the injuries. We decided on tissue glue with medication and wound cleaning. I did not feel left in the dark or pressured to do anything whatsoever, I was very comfortable during the whole process. I even gave consent for sedation since Maisie can be incredibly sassy sometimes but the doctor was not too worried about it and only suggested a medication to relax her rather than full sedation (which worked!) She was very knowledgeable and didn't make me feel like Maisie was difficult (even though I know she can be and probably was!) I felt that the pricing was fair for the care, helpfulness, kindness, and treatment that Maisie and I received. Keep in mind that this is an emergency hospital and therefore will be more expensive than your regular vet! The facility was also very clean and modern which eased my anxiety too.
Just a giant money game. Depending on what you can afford, is what they will give you. If your pocket book is well lined, then expect great service. If not then expect the bare minimum. As thet said on the phone. "We have a business to run". I agree you have your business, but your in the damn business of compassion. Heartless
Dr. Trish O'Sullivan and the staff were always caring and considerate with our dog Bagheera. The kindness we were shown with his recent passing was exceptional.
Nice people
It has taken me a bit of time to write this review. I lost my sweet girl to Canine Lymphoma in October. She was 9 years old and it was a devastating diagnosis for us. Dr. Samantha Jenkins was absolutely the most amazing vet for our girl. She was kind and truly cared about our Nellie. She guided us all the way through the treatment and when it was time for Nellie to cross over the rainbow bridge, she could not have been more empathetic. The entire team was accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend this clinic. ❤️
I can’t begin to say enough good things about the whole team at O’Sullivans! They saved our Silas boy. This crazy cat decided to eat one of our children’s toys and it caused an obstruction, we thought we were going to lose him. They went above and beyond for our family and I will never be able to thank them enough for what they did for our family!
We had such an amazing experience at this animal hospital. The doctor and staff is so caring and took amazing care of my kitty. They’ve checked up a few times afterwards to ensure he’s doing okay which was amazing to see and made us feel really taken care of. Thank you so much for the amazing service!
My first visit and with my bunny Thumper, they ALL were wonderful! Was so impressed that they had a Dog side and a Cat side, it really makes stress for the pets minimal. Everyone was so caring and kind. I will return anytime. Thank you!
This is a 24 hour vet that our vet recommends when they are not open. Our dog hurt her foot on Xmas day and could not weight bare. We got an appointment the next day when we called. They told us the price for the examination and then told us our options and prices before doing anything. The covid 19 lockdown was also on, so we could not go in with our dog. They were kind and attentive and called the next day to check on our dog. Their prices were on par and not inflated because of the holiday. We were thankful we could get someone to look at our dog. I would recommend based on our experience. Great job everyone.
I booked an appointment a week ago for my dog who is 5 years old and been going here since she was 8 months old to have her yearly shots, heartworm and flea medication. They booked me in and said if an emergency came in, my appointment would be delayed. Since I live 35 minutes away, I asked if they would let me know before I got there if my dog had to wait longer to be seen. They said of course. So I get there at my time of 4:30, call and book her in. Due to covid, you can't go in with your dog at all. The person takes my dog (who was clearly nervous and wouldn't leave me) and then I went back to my car to wait. At 5:45 I'm wondering what is taking so long so I call for an update. They said hang on and checked. And then told me it would be roughly 2-4 more hours! I said what? Why? They explained that they had 2 emergencies. I have been staring at the front door this entire time, have yet to see anyone arrive. But I understand maybe they came in another way. Fine. But yet not one receptionist could pick up the phone to let me know that I would be waiting in my car and my dog would be waiting in crate for possibly 5 hours!!! So I said "what do I do now? I’ve already been here for well over an hour." They said I could go home and come back. I said my dog hasn’t eaten dinner or anything, and now you’re telling me I can’t bring her home until maybe 9pm! So I decided to drive home because what are my options honestly. About 15 minutes into my drive I thought, I'm just going to take my dog home. She’s scared in a crate (which she is not used to) and hungry. So I called to say I am going to pick her up but I'm not going to bring her back later. I also explained that if someone had just let me know BEFORE they took my dog inside, that there were emergencies and I would be there for hours, I would have spent that time taking her on a walk or something. Or maybe I would have just rescheduled for another day. So the lady says "I’ll drop her off at the door", but before I can respond, hangs up on me. Then to top it off as soon as I get home my dog bolts to her water dish where she polishes it off. They clearly didn't even give her any water. The only reason for a 3 star review is because I used to really like this place and the manager did call me afterwards to apologize and I really respected that
The Vets and their staff are amazing, they are incredibly understanding and kind .
This place is a pure money grab. I brought my cat with a rather large urine sample I had collected (done several times, always had collected enough). The vet examined my cat, told me she could feel her bladder, which was true as an hour prior she had a very large drink. I was then told the sample I provided was too small and they would need more. I allowed them to try to expel her bladder, (which my cat has had done before, and very quickly at that). After waiting over an hour for them to do this I kept asking where she was and was told they were busy in the back, and eventually told the vets, including Dr. O'Sullivan herself could not expel the bladder as it was too small! They tried to convince me to leave her there overnight and you can bet that would have cost more. I took my cat and left. And low and behold, 10 minutes into the car ride she urinated all over me, and it was definitely more than enough to be considered "small". Expelling a cats bladder is one of the easiest things to do and if they can't manage that then I wouldn't trust them with anything. So disgusted by the attempted money grab and lack of care provided. I still had to pay the $90 exam fee, even though he they were 100% unhelpful. Avoid this place if you care about your pets and don't wish to see your wallet empty itself to pay for the fancy office.
Lots of follow after to ensure pets recovering
We brought our dog buddy in yesterday, out of the 3 places we called they were the only place who said ok bring him right away. Other places were going to make us wait hours and hours. The vet and the reception were extremely gracious and helpful. We had to put our dog down and they were so kind to him and us giving me as much time I wanted to spend with him to say goodbye. I will always recommend this place ???? thank you for you kind service
Prices are absolutely ridiculous. They don’t actually care for your animals and they make it seem like some sort of sale pitch. I told them I wasn’t paying 2,000 for something that wasn’t needed to be done and was pushed on it multiple times. They gave me little information for the couple hundred I did pay and left us pretty much with nothing to help. I wouldn’t recommend them to a single person.
I’ve been there a few times with my almost 8 year old Shih tzu, once because my dog kept throwing up and most recently because the mass cell tumour on her lip blew up to the size of a golf ball. We honestly thought we were going to lose her and we were devastated, we cried for 3 days. They got her in that day, gave her pain meds and basically told us to keep her comfortable until we were ready to make that decision. Well by some miracle, a week later-she made a complete recovery, the swelling went down and now you can barely see the lump on her lip. She’s eating normally, drinking and going to the bathroom regularly. She’s playing, running, and loves her walks again. They always call a day or so later to check on your fur baby as well. I don’t know what was in those pain meds but I am sooo grateful that the vet prescribed them. We got our little girl back. I know her cancer will never go away but as long as she’s happy & healthy, we are going to enjoy every moment with our sweet baby girl. Thank you to all the staff at O’Sullivans!! ❤️????❤️????
This clinic has been the best one around in the GTA. All our pets have been going to O'Sullivens and we would recommend this clinic to anyone who's pet needs attention! The Vets care so much for the animals and the owners show time and dedication to all clients. Beyond the negitive feed back from others try the clinic for yourself and you will not be upset! EXCELLENT WORK TO ALL STAFF AT OSULLIVENS (Owners, Vet tecs, Vets) Thanks for always taking care of our loved ones!
They forgot us in the exam room and it took them over 45 minutes to process payment. 1 debit machine for 4 or 5 desks. I was there for roughly 2 hours for what should have been a half hour visit. I will only use this vet to buy the food I need and for emergency only! So unorganized!
Terrible experience the worst vet clinic I have ever encountered. Total money grab, not interested in the animal at all.
Rufus , our 51/2 yr old male golden was diagnosed with DCM by O’Sullivan’s when we visited for other reasons. Our previous 15 yr vet missed all the signs. Rufus is on meds and supplements and is doing really really great. Was it grain free food , don’t know , but Dr Pilon and his fantastic staff are doing a great job of looking after Rufus.
Our dog became sick late at night and call them. They were excellent at looking after our Snickers. She ended up staying with them 2 nights then being transferred down to Guelph. They were very good at looking after her and arranging all the transfer required to get her to Guelph. They kept us updated to what was going on with Snickers. We have used them twice in the past and we now are going to use them as our regular vet for Snickers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good vet.
I am new the Barrie area and my dog recently had some mild itchiness and a rash on various parts of his body. I was concerned so I took him to this facility as a new patient. I have honestly been nothing less than impressed throughout the whole process. The vet was great addressing all my concerns, and to top it off the office has called to follow up with how he is feeling. Wonderful service so far.
Dr Anne Watson was the most compassionate, caring vet with my dog. She truly put me at ease. Best vet I have seen throughout the 12 years with my dog ???? Throughout this stressful time she spent 20 mins on the phone with me explaining everything, answered all of my questions and could not do enough for me. Thank you and your awesome staff
My doberman Odis took a turn with his health at age 12 - we brought him in and right away and the staff went above and beyond attending to our dog with his pain allowing family to attend their clinic to say our goodbyes - they were compassionate and professional I will never forget their how they made our dog comfortable in his final moments. Thank you to the entire staff I will never forget the precious last moments we had with our family dog.
I paid these people for the opportunity to upsell me. My girlfriend told them what my cat needed. They did nothing but try to upsell me on an $80 test. We told them no. They charged us anyways. Now I have to go in and get a refund, or trust these people, that clearly can't keep books very well, and are a little too eager to take my, credit card over the phone. If they can't even charge people properly why would I trust the health of my animal with them?
Great service! We are very impressed with this 24/7 vet service! They were very patient and compassionate with our case and went above and beyond to make sure our fur baby got the care he needed! Staff were truly available 24/7 and returned phone calls throughout the night! We would absolutely recommend them to friends and family!! Thanks again O’Sullivans!!
We have been loyal clients of O'Sullivan's for more than a decade. Their professionalism, kindness, and compassion makes them stand apart from any other vet clinic we've dealt with. Trish & Brent are amazing as are their competent and caring staff. We recommend them without hesitation. Your furry family members are in good hands here!
Incredible personnel. Amazing facility. And Dr Simon was absolutely fantastic. I have never had such an awesome vet visit. As we travel back to Alberta my dog is getting better by the hour. Couldn't ask for a better experience and outcome for an emergency situation. Thank you all.
Had to bring my cat here at 11pm as my vet was closed. They gave me treatment options, said they’d give me a week to think about it and gave pain meds. As a result they called the SPCA the next day saying I was refusing treatment for my cat, when she needs $4,000 surgery. I am now forced into put down my cat. Do NOT go here is you care about your pet
My mother and I were driving when the car in front of us hit a kitten. We pulled over, and got the cat and wrapped it in a blanket. Since it was after-hours we drove across Barrie to O'Sullivans with the cat who was very hurt. Note- this was not our cat nor did we hit the cat..we simply wanted to help the cat who was injured badly. At O'Sullivans they took the cat back and then asked us to pay for the cat's bills, or at least make a donation. They said "we do not usually do charity work". I get it- but animals shelters were closed and it wasn't our cat and we did not hit it even! We have 2 animals of our own who we have brought to this vet and spent lots of money on before. Surely this facility has the funds to absorb the cost of a lost/injured cat's euthanization, especially because it was at night and the cat was in pain. I dont feel we should have been asked to pay for this. Should we have just left the poor kitty to die in pain on the side of the road? Not very impressed. I questioned whether they cared about this poor kitty or just the money?
Wouldn't sell 180$ insulin unless an undiscussed 100$ yearly diabetic management fee was paid. I guess that was not covered in the 1000$ we spent to find out he was diabetic and get set up in the first place 9 months ago. Anyway theres more then one vet in town. By the last convo I had had with them they don't seem to interested in what I think of them so here is there 1* review. Enjoy and be safe everyone.
Courteous and knowledgeable professionals who instilled confidence in me when I was so worried about my pet. As for prices, Vets are not cheap so I cant complain.
This veterinary clinic was Fabulous. We drove from Penetang on a long weekend and went in for an eye infection on our poor dog. We were told up front on the phone about the $95. fee, and after a thorough examination of our doggie, were given some antibiotics and advised to either bring her back in a few days if we were still concerned, or go see our own vet. No pressure. Today they followed up with a phone call to see how Lucy was doing - and she is doing awesome! This will definitely be our go to vet when our own is not available..
I was thoroughly unimpressed when I visited this hospital for my fur baby who is 4 months old with congenital diabetes. I visit Dr. Arik Vishnecsky on Sunday night after my puppy jumped off a pile of laundry and injured her poor leg. I was there for an emergency, she was obviously in discomfort. After having the woman at the front desk question what type of dog she was when I told her she was American bull dog I was disappointed further. (I shouldn't be questioned. If I tell you she's a bull dog. Write it down and keep your opinions to your self.) the doctor didn't wan to discuss her leg. He consistently tried to tell me that she couldn't have congenital diabetes and that I should run more tests with them. Money hungry. After telling him multiple times I am happy with my regular vet and that everything is being taken care of and she is reacting well to treatments, he wrote on my summery. I REFUSED TO CHECK UP ON IT instead of saying it is all under control. They also put in she got caught in the pile of laundry and that I wasn't sure what type or how much insulin she received. After spending over $2,500, almost losing her multiple times, caring for her 24 hours a day and driving to Innisfil weekly to have her checked out by an incredible vet at the Innisfil veterinary hospital that I suggest to everyone if you have the means of transportation. I DO NOT appreciate how I was treated or questioned on the care of my baby.
